Despite this, he's quite intelligent and skilled as a metallurgist, analyzing the properties of a material with unique sensors in his hands. When he gets caught up in a scientific problem, he becomes almost laser-like in focus and intensity. Unfortunately, this generally leaves him just as distracted from any other tasks at hand and just as accident-prone a driver as ever. Swerve and "traffic accident" just go hand in hand. He's almost always in need of some repairs, major or minor, because of it.

Galvatron sent every single Sweep crashing into the planet's plasma pits, and the only one that fought back did no damage whatsoever to his leader. Much later, three Sweeps hunted the Decepticon exile [[Octane]] alongside Scourge and Cyclonus, and cornered him in a [[Decepticon Crypt|crypt]] on Cybertron. When Scourge ordered the Sweeps to enter the crypt, all three cowardly refused to be the first one in, until Cyclonus got fed up with it and offered to fight whoever was the last one in. The pool, which also contained the remains of denizens from the [[Dead Universe]], reformatted the bodies into clones of Scourge, who would be their master. Galvatron was incensed that the Sweeps were not created in ''his'' image. Scourge, his Sweeps and [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] then began to aid Galvatron on his new quest. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 14|All Hail Megatron #14}} Their first mission was to scour Gorlam Prime for its inhabitants, who had disappeared without a trace. He ordered three Sweeps to retrieve a frozen chunk of wreckage that had been flung from the anomaly, but when it was brought on board, zombie humans and robots erupted from it, infecting the three Sweeps. After the zombie threat had been dealt with, Galvatron took his army with him to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], their first line of defense against D-Void. As the Sweeps were sent out to scout the planet, one of them discovered [[Hot Rod (G1)|Rodimus]] and [[Wheelie (G1)|Wheelie]]. Noting that they were [[Slingshot (weapon)|armed]], he broke Galvatron's orders by engaging the Autobots, and was subsequently shot down by Wheelie. Galvatron used the Darkness to heal the Sweep's injuries and scolded him, telling him that all Transformers needed to work together. '''Roadbuster''' is a powerful and charismatic fighter. Usually armed to the teeth, he's an inspiration to other Autobots in combat and a natural leader on any battlefield. Outside of combat though, his natural ease and surety fail him. He simply doesn't know how to handle life out of combat. He becomes the quietest of the Autobots, grows withdrawn and depressed, and is easily bored. He counters this by spending most of his free time between battles either planning for the next one or "demolishing" any random Decepticons he can find. Some Autobots worry about what will become of the heroic and well-loved Roadbuster they know if the war ever ends. Combat truly is his life and without it, he might just fade away.

Roadbuster is a member of the elite [[Wrecker|Wreckers]] unit in, well, every universe he's been in.

''Roadbuster was a rather hardened soldier, deliberately feeding false information to an Autobot who had turned [[Autobot traitor|informant]] for the Decepticons, and stood by in the shadows while [[Shrapnel (G1)|Shrapnel]] tortured the Autobot for the info and then executed him. Despite allowing this to happen, he still felt that even a traitor deserved better than that. Roadbuster took part in a training session with the rest of the Wreckers involving [[facsimile construct]]. The training session was in anticipation of [[Operation: Volcano]], an effort to assassinate some of the Decepticons' deadliest warriors. When [[Impactor]] decided that the Wreckers were going to bow out of Operation: Volcano, Roadbuster, [[Whirl (G1)|Whirl]], and [[Twin Twist]] took some down-time at [[Maccadam's Old Oil House]]. Both Twin Twist and Roadbuster felt distinctly uneasy about Impactor's decision. When a Decepticon by the name of [[Fang]] started bullying [[Piano Transformer guy|one of the bar's patrons]], Roadbuster urged Twin Twist not to get involved. But Twin Twist trashed Fang anyway, coming to the realization that as Autobots, it was always their duty to stand in the Decepticons' way. Casting their doubts aside, Roadbuster, Whirl, and Twin Twist all decided to go ahead with Operation: Volcano. Likewise, Impactor was convinced by [[Emirate]] [[Xaaron]] to go through with the mission, despite his earlier doubts. After the Trion's crew had settled in, [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]] and Roadbuster had a little chat outside, where Roadbuster revealed how frustrated he was that they had been taken down by the Decepticons without even a chance to shoot back. Roadbuster was quite enamored with the weapon and wanted to give it a name. When the swarm attacked, Roadbuster managed to destroy quite a few of them with his new cannon. After the Autobots returned to Earth aboard [[Omega Supreme (G1)| Omega Supreme]], Roadbuster jumped into battle alongside his comrades against the Decepticons. Nosecone and the Technobots were part of a strike team that flew to the [[Moon (moon)|moon]] to disrupt Scorponok's gathering of Decepticons. Garnak and his boss [[Codder]] were both from a "collective", from which they were sold to an [[Ilxian]] ship where Garnak worked as a custodian. At some point, the ship crashed on planet [[LV-118]], killing everyone on board other than him, Codder, and an Ilxian scientist. The Ilxian developed quite an ego, calling himself "[[Admiral]]" and ordering Garnak and Codder around during his attempts to repair the ship, but since he ''was'' earnestly trying to get them off the planet, the two listened to him.

After being stuck on the planet for a long time, Garnak and Codder discovered the [[Autobot]] [[Hot Rod (G1)|Rodimus]] when he too crashed in the vicinity, and found him similar to the weird "[[Wheelie (G1)|Jangle Man]]" who lived on LV-118. Though Garnak wanted to show him to the Jangle Man, Codder thought it better to take him to the Admiral. The Admiral tried to use Rodimus's [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]] to power the ship, but he resisted and fled, prompting Garnak and Codder to try to recapture him. Garnak followed him to the Jangle Man's wrecked ship, where he was knocked out by the Jangle Man himself and interrogated by Rodimus. After telling Rodimus about how he got there and what he knew about Wheelie, Garnak agreed to be a part of his plan to steal the Admiral's ship. Returning to the Admiral with Rodimus, Garnak tricked him and Codder into coming outside, where Wheelie called on a [[Chaosteros]] to attack them. Fortress was in the midst of dealing with some planetary-level explosives left behind by the Decepticons, and so Crosshairs and his comrades went with Fortress aboard the Battleship Maximus to dispose of the bombs. Out in space, they had just reached a safe distance from Earth when they passed a refugee ship being attacked by the Decepticons. Crosshairs, Pointblank and [[Sureshot (G1)|Sureshot]] went out onto the surface of the battleship to engage the enemy long enough for the refugees to get inside. The battle continued to rage outside until the refugees attempted to return the kind favor by removing the bombs to a safe distance themselves. Brainstorm let the review fall into his backlog for several months, probably because Ironfist neglected to mention the accident had left a bullet in his skull, slowly killing him. Brainstorm finally reported back just as Ironfist was leaving for the [[Wrecker]]s, revealing his findings that showed the gun had been rigged to go off at a certain angle. The trio later met up with [[Hot Rod (G1)|Hot Rod]] and [[Wheelie (G1)|Wheelie]]. Bob was introduced to the surprised Hot Rod, and Sunstreaker explained how he adopted the Insecticon. During the explanation, Bob wriggled down and took a happy good-dog nap. It was adorable. Hot Rod was faintly nauseated.
