The [[Starscream clone]] that raises the most questions, the purple and pale teal '''Female Starscream''' possesses considerable strategic thinking, a biting sense of humor, and a short temper. Like all of the clones, she represents an aspect of the [[Starscream (Animated)|original Starscream's]] personality... though which aspect that is, he's better off not asking (or so she says).

Practically everything she ever says to the original Starscream is an insult of some form. Really makes you wonder about Starscream, doesn't it?

When the clones were brought online, Starscream was confronted with various personality issues. The Female revealed that each one represented an aspect of his personality: [[Thundercracker (Animated)|megalomania]], [[Skywarp (Animated)|cowardice]], [[Sunstorm (Animated)|bootlicking]], and [[Liar Starscream|deception]]. When Starscream asked where she came from, Female Starscream informed him that he was better off not knowing. Once they were ready to depart, Egomaniac pushed Starscream aside, and the original realized that he really ''was'' a pain in the gearshaft. The Female proved to be a capable fighter, managing to get a pair of stasis cuffs on the massive [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]]. After the original Starscream was decapitated by [[Isaac Sumdac]] piloting a [[Headmaster (Animated)|Headmaster]] unit, she promptly declared that she was better off being led by [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]. The Female apparently decided to lay low on Earth after the space bridge battle, managing to evade capture unlike her fellow clones (and several non-clone Decepticons). When the Earth-bound Autobots and the full population of Detroit were under the control of [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]], [[Sari Sumdac]] went to [[Dinobot Island (Animated)|Dinobot Island]], hoping to find some help to rescue them. But [[Grimlock (Animated)|Grimlock]] and [[Swoop (Animated)|Swoop]] were less than responsive to her call. Determined to not give up, Sari pursued her quest and finally located Scrapper and the newly named Snarl. She quickly managed to convince them to return with her to the city. On their way, they met Wreck-Gar, who was all too happy to join the team. Thus was born the ragtag unit called the Substitute Autobots, with Sari naturally taking the lead. Well, theoretically.

Before they were even able to concoct a concrete plan, they lost both the element of surprise and their outnumbering advantage, having to face not only Soundwave, but also the whole of [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]]'s brainwashed team. With little choice, Sari gave the order to attack, but the fight didn't go well at first—Wreck Gar was a little too over-obedient to follow ''any'' order and also lacked adequate equipment, Scrapper was simply ineffective, and Snarl had just not yet understood what he was supposed to do. Having to deal with both [[Laserbeak (Animated)|Laserbeak]] and Soundwave, Sari ended up losing control of her jet-pack and was ejected into the snow, soon followed by the rest of her team.

Realizing Soundwave wouldn't be able to control all the Autobots in separate activities at the same time, Sari ordered they attack separately. Snarl charged on [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]], Scrapper took on [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], Wreck-Gar faced [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]], and she herself dealt with Optimus Prime, effectively giving too much for the Decepticon to handle at once. Snarl overpowered and tied up Ratchet while Scrapper froze Bulkhead. The team was finally getting the hang of things and was beginning to take the upper hand in the battle. And then Wreck-Gar played some accordion... Bumblebee and Prowl tried to attack Sari, although Prowl's attack was strangely...helpful. Wreck-Gar finally immobilized Bumblebee, which meant the only ones left were Prowl and Optimus Prime. Not bad for a bunch of losers. Unfortunately, Soundwave could now focus total control on Optimus, knowing that was all he needed to win the battle. Optimus rapidly overpowered Scrapper, Snarl and Wreck-Gar and was about to chop down Sari, when Prowl, whose attempts to resist Soundwave had finally succeeded, struck with his shurikens. Soundwave lost control of Prime, who was relieved to see he hadn't harmed Sari. From this point on, the Substitute Autobots let Optimus Prime deal with the problem. He dealt with it pretty good.

After that, the team disbanded, Scrapper judging it was just not worth the pain (and lack of overtime pay), Snarl simply wanting to go home, and Sari being all too happy her management duties were over. As for Wreck-Gar, well, his mind was already on something else...

Blurr initially became known to the Autobots on [[Earth]] through his participation in [[Master Disaster]]'s ''[[Street Demon]]'' races. This was because Master Disaster manipulated him using a remote control that contained an [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]] fragment.

Blurr proved impossible to beat on the race course; under Master Disaster's control, Blurr used aggressive tactics and sped past [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] twice, even though the yellow Autobot was using his rocket boosters.

Later, the [[Key]] detected the AllSpark fragment, so [[Sari Sumdac|Sari]] stole the remote control to investigate it, which apparently broke Master Disaster's control over Blurr. When [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] was about to attack Bumblebee, Blurr charged off a bridge and played a mid-air game of chicken with Blitzwing, causing the Decepticon to veer off and crash into a skyscraper. Later that night, Bumblebee was on the roof of the Autobots' factory base when he spotted Blurr driving down a nearby highway past the building. Bee called out a thank you, but Blurr gave no response. {{storylink|Velocity}}

Blurr intercepted a transmission between [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] and a double agent on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] revealing that [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] was the best [[Space bridge|space bridge]] technician in the entire galaxy, and would thus be a target for kidnapping. Blurr sped off to try to stop Megatron, but was instead stopped by Bumblebee. The yellow bot chased him around for a while, until he finally knocked Blurr off the road. This angered Blurr, so he transformed into robot mode, introduced himself and his mission, and gave Bumblebee the chewing out of a lifetime, all in about thirty seconds. Bumblebee missed everything he said past the first sentence.

Later, at the Autobot base, Blurr again introduced himself and explained his mission, this time to the entire Autobot crew, minus Bulkhead. They still had trouble understanding him, but were able to make out the fact that Bulkhead was an expert and that [[Isaac Sumdac]] had aided Megatron in building a space bridge.

Blurr led Bumblebee, [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus]], and [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] to Megatron's base. They had a brief encounter with Blitzwing and [[Lugnut]], whom Blurr quickly caught in [[stasis cuffs]]. After watching, Bumblebee reluctantly admitted that he was no longer the fastest thing on wheels. The Autobots managed to reach Megatron's throne room, but Blurr was quickly defeated by [[Scrapper (Animated)|Scrapper]]. {{storylink|A Bridge Too Close, Part I}}

After escaping from Scrapper, Blurr stasis-cuffed [[Skywarp (Animated)|the Coward Starscream]]. As fast as he is, though, Blurr failed to get out of the way of [[Thundercracker (Animated)|the Egomaniac Starscream]], who crashed into both him and Coward Starscream, getting them caught in his cement overcoat and sending them all tumbling into the space bridge. Bulkhead attempted to recall them, but explained that the targeting coordinates of the bridge were never set, meaning that they could have been sent anywhere in the galaxy. {{storylink|A Bridge Too Close, Part II}}

Though caught in a cement block with the Coward and Egomaniac Starscream clones and floating across a random part of space, Blurr was able to escape due to the clone's efforts. By ricocheting off meteors, moons, and other debris, Blurr was amazingly able to run all the way back to Cybertron. But when he returned, he was greeted by [[Shockwave (Animated)|Longarm Prime]], who wasn't happy to hear Blurr's news that he would be able to identify the traitor by examining Shockwave's voice sample. Longarm attacked Blurr, who sped away. Longarm transformed into Shockwave, and noted that he didn't need to catch to Blurr, only stop him. Shockwave used the building's main computer to lock down the corridors where Blurr had fled through. Trapped, Blurr was crushed between two closing walls.

The blue cube that remained was disposed of by an unwitting [[Cliffjumper (Animated)|Cliffjumper]], who dropped the "sensitive material" into an incinerator at the request of "Longarm". {{storylink|TransWarped}}

Blurr transforms into a sleek futuristic race car. A button on his hood deploys an energy saw weapon which can double as a shield or clip onto his back in robot mode. Due to his leg design, the very middle of Blurr's rear wheels are the only parts that roll, while the sides do not. These parts stick out a hair, though, so his mobility in vehicle mode is unhindered.

The pin on the top of his head is molded in bendy rubber, which is fortunate as it'd probably snap off really easily if it wasn't. There's also softer rubber on the tips of his shoulders, [[For safety reasons| so that you don't poke your eye out]], and with a transformer like Blurr, you need a few precautions like that.

His feet can swivel and have ball-jointed toes and heels, which lets him easily pull off running poses, if you can see him doing that sort of thing.

Despite this deep knowledge of the dark, inevitable pointlessness of existence, he spends an inordinate amount of time polishing and primping himself. This is something the other Decepticons are sure to tease him about whenever they get the chance, which only depresses him more. If you can actually motivate him to fight, he's a fearless warrior and actually cheers up a little, since trying to save his own life can momentarily distract him from how ultimately brief and pointless it is, the hard trick is getting him motivated in the first place, since in the end we're all doomed. Dead End, along with the other Stunticons, was given [[spark|life]] by Vector Sigma in an attempt by [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] to form a ground based unit. Seeing little choice in the matter, Dead End decided to do what Megatron said. {{storylink|The Key to Vector Sigma, Part 1}}

While Megatron was attempting to recover the infamous [[Pearl of Bahoudin]] in Turkey, he ordered the Stunticons to dispose of several Autobots who were nearby participating the [[Europa 2000]] charity race. While his fellow Stunticons surrounded the brothers [[Sunstreaker]] and [[Sideswipe (G1)|Sideswipe]], Dead End lept ahead of the racers and transformed, blasting the boxed-in Autobots off the road. They disabled several more racers, but when Dead End set a trap for [[Bluestreak]], the wily gunner managed to escape his attackers. {{Storylink|Trans-Europe Express}}

On another occasion, Megatron instructed the Stunticons to bring him a series of scientific components for his latest Unbeatable Super Weapon. Dead End and [[Drag Strip]] were assigned to acquire an experimental generator from the U.S. military. The retrieval was successful, but they encountered the Autobots [[Tracks]] and [[Warpath]] on the drive to their rendez-vous with Megatron. Dead End was disabled by a blast of Tracks' black beam gun, followed by Warpath putting his fist through the Stunticon's roof. Disabled and collected as prisoners of war, the Stunticons were brought back to the Ark and held in captivity while [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and strike team of Autobots used camouflage paint to mimic the Stunticons and infiltrate Megatron's camp. Special operations agent [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]], a cheerful and easy going robot, assumed Dead End's appearance, which undoubtedly made Dead End feel even worse. The real Stunticons managed to break free, however, and confronted their dopplegangers as Menasor. Ultimately, the Super Weapon was destroyed, and the Decepticons were forced into a retreat. {{Storylink|Masquerade}}

Caught up in a demolition derby, the Stunticons missed most of the "civil war" between the Decepticons and [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]]'s [[Combaticon]]s. They arrived at the battle site just as Starscream was declaring victory over Megatron. Dead End didn't particularly care either way, until [[Motormaster]] pointed out that Starscream was insufferable enough already without being in charge, and Dead End quickly conceded that point. The Stunticons formed Menasor and, one Batman *POW* later, [[Bruticus]] was in pieces. {{Storylink|Starscream's Brigade}}

After the Decepticons were driven off Cybertron in the aftermath of [[Unicron]]'s attack, they fled to [[Chaar]]. Suffering constant energon shortages, they were reduced to fighting among themselves. The Stunticons sutck together, but things were dire. So dire in fact, that the Decepticons offered up their energon when it was learned that [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] was alive. Dead End warned that they were doomed if they gave up their energon, but Wildrider countered that if they didn't, they were doomed anyway. Either way, they were doomed. Oh, for [[Primus|God]]'s sake...{{storylink|Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1}} When the [[Quintesson]]s arrived on Chaar, the other Decepticons cowered in fear. Dead End, however, had had enough. If he was going to die, he would just get it over with. He asked the Quintessons to just make it quick, but they offered energon instead. He differed to [[Swindle (G1)|Swindle]]'s negotiating skills, and when Swindle said to test some of the energon, he agreed. What the [[Pit|heck]], poison would probably be quicker than fuel exhaustion. Fortunately, the energon was untainted, and Dead End agreed to help the Quintessons destroy the Autobots on [[Goo]]. Might as well take a few Autobots with them before they go offline {{storylink|Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3}}. When they arrived, Galvatron showed up and fired upon the "traitors". At one point during the [[Great War]], Dead End was linked with the Stunticons to become a super-combiner known as Menasor.
