Generation One > Season 1

After months in hiding the Decepticons return and have a new method for moving Energon cubes to Cybertron.

Detailed synopsis
Act One: The Decepticons have not been seen in months and are presumed dead by the Autobots. That doesn't stop a twitchy Cliffjumper from blasting a rock that vaguely resembles a Decepticon. Optimus Prime is also not completely convinced of the Decepticons' demise. Unknown to the Autobots the Decepticons are in fact still alive and have constructed a fortress out of their crashed ship under the ocean.

Meanwhile, in the depths of space, an energy-depleted Shockwave attempts to make contact with Megatron. Shockwave succeeds in his attempt and informs Megatron that the Energon reserves on Cybertron are almost depleted. He also tells him of the newly constructed Space Bridge.

The Decepticons head out again to collect more energy. Their first target is a solar power plant. Soundwave and Laserbeak scare off the workers and secure the generators for Energon creation.

While cruising the city Jazz and Spike Witwicky encounter a traffic jam. The cause of which is a city wide blackout. Both decide they need to head back to base to check in. Teletran 1 shows that the blackout has spread across the city. Optimus has Teletran survey the surrounding power stations. At the solar plant Optimus sees Megatron.

Optimus puts together a small strike team to take care of the Decepticon raid. The Autobots arrive and drive off the Decepticons but not before they manage to steal a large amount of energy. During the battle Ironhide is injured saving Optimus from an attack.

Back at base Ironhide is worked on by Ratchet and Sparkplug Witwicky. His pride is more wounded then he is. Wanting to know how they plan to get the Energon to Cybertron, Optimus sends Bumblebee out on recon to search for signs of the Decepticons in the surrounding area, Spike offers to go with him.

The two stumble upon the location of the Space Bridge but are captured before they can report back.

Act Two: Megatron decides to use Spike and Bumblebee as pilots for the shuttle to help keep it on its course to Cybertron. The two make a break for it in the hopes of getting back to Autobot base. Spike is recaptured immediately. Bumblebee manages to evade them for a short time but is also recaptured. Megatron alters Bumblebee’s memory so he can lead the Autobots into a trap.

Bumblebee returns to the Ark and tells the gathered Autobots that Spike has been captured. They head for the Space Bridge which Bumblebee has given an incorrect location to. The false location leads them to a cave where the Decepticons have been waiting in ambush.

Act Three: During the battle Bumblebee is injured and the Autobots are buried in the cave.

Realizing that they were set up Optimus has Ratchet check out Bumblebee, where he discovers his memory has been altered. They soon learn the true location of the Space Bridge and once free of the cave, roll out.

The Autobots engage the Decepticons once more at the true location of the Space Bridge, managing to rescue Spike and destroy the shipment of Energon. As the battle nears its conclusion Megatron is knocked into the active Space Bridge and sent to Cybertron.
Other notes
Animation and/or technical glitches
*In the establishing shot meant to convey the transition of an Earth-bound scene to one set on Cybertron, Saturn is inexplicably near the planet Earth.
*The animated glow behind Shockwave when he is communicating to Megatron is mis-aligned with his body.
*Ed, a solar power plant worker, has his skin change color from one shot to the next. He's first seen as an African-American, and in the next shot, he's white, and the following shot, he's black again.
*As the Decepticons start filling Energon cubes, the background cubes filled by Skywarp are mistakenly in front of the foreground cubes filled by Starscream.
*When the Autobots jump through the skylight Cliffjumper is colored like Bumblebee.
*While the Autobots are waiting for the return of Bumblebee and Spike, Cliffjumper’s color is that of Bumblebee.
*As the Decepticons prepare to retreat from the Space bridge Skywarp is shown in Starscreams color scheme.

Continuity errors
*This is the only time the Ark is ever depicted as being near a cliffside overlooking the ocean.
*When the Decepticons are leaving the power station Skywarp is seen flying away twice.
* References

Miscellaneous trivia
* When Cliffjumper appears at the start of the episode, he is carrying Jazz's gun.
* The signage in the city includes odd phrases that look suspiciously like Engrish: Par, Led Bulue, SpuRashu, Fee, Mascot, IOU, April, AGF, Bell.

:Neo-Wheel is a Micromaster from the Operation Combination and Micromaster Collection portions of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Neo-Wheel is a member of the Turbo Team, six urban-operations Micromasters who can combine to form Sixturbo. The Turbo Team fight alongside the Guard City team and other Micromasters to protect the Earth from the forces of the mighty Decepticon führer Scrash.

In an alternate-timeline/universe, Neo-Wheel is a mysterious loner who lives in the woods. Some people think he can talk to animals.

Since the Neo-Wheel of "Operation Combination" had no bio information whatsoever, it is unknown if the "Micromaster Collection" bio is retroactive, applying to the original version as well, though many fans treat it as such.

Fiction
Operation: Combination story pages
Neo-Wheel never appears as an individual, only as a component to Sixturbo's robot mode.

Micromaster Collection Story
Like most of the Turbo Team, Neo-Wheel was infected with the Reverse Evolution virus, presumably though contact with Road Police, Circuit, Glide, or Discharge. The virus turned him into a Decepticon, and he went about causing random destruction with his teammates. Sireen tricked Neo-Wheel and the others into combining with him to form Sixturbo, then restored them all to normal with an antivirus program.

Toys
Operation: Combination
*Sixturbo (Micromaster Sixteam, 1992)
: The original version of Neo-Wheel was available only as part of a Sixturbo gift set in Japan. Aside from the Lamborghini sports car mode, Neo-Wheel can form either arm of any of the similar-build Six-Teams (Sixturbo, Sixbuilder or Sixwing), though his nominal placement is as the right arm of Sixturbo. The original Six-Teams are considered among the more difficult Japanese Generation 1 pieces to find.

: Neo-Wheel uses the same mold as Universe Micromaster Hot Spot.

:The connector socket for Sixturbo's shoulder is approximately 5mm wide, making Neo-Wheel compatible with Powerlinx ports.

Micromaster Collection
*Neo-Wheel (Micromaster, 2002)
: In 2002, the entire Sixturbo team was re-released as part of the "Micromaster Collection", in individual boxes with a number visible to show which mold was inside each box. For this release, all of the decals from the original version were replaced with paint applications. Neo-Wheel came with the right hand and gun to Sixturbo in this release.

: In every case of twelve Turbo Team Micromasters, two of them were solid-black-plastic "Reverse Evolution" Decepticon-allied variations. All six Micromasters were available in this manner.
When Decepticons caused animals to stampede, Mr. Ricky was unable to turn the herd's course before it entered a village. When a group of deer headed for a school with children, Ricky was forced to shoot the two leaders to stop them. A young fawn was trampled, and though it was likely to die, Mr. Ricky took it on himself to care for the fawn.

Investigating the strange Stampedes, Diver met Ricky, who showed the Autobots where the stampede had started. Befriending the Headmaster Juniors after saving Minerva from a scorpion, he brought them back to his home village, where she used her medical equipment to care for the fawn.

The Autobots' investigation led them to the cause of the stampedes, bombs planted by the Decepticons

When another stampede started, this one heading for him home village, Mr. Ricky was unable to bring himself ot shoot into the animals again, and instead tried to wave them off, risking being trampled. He was rescued by the Autobots, who formed a 'human' wall to stop the animals.

The fawn recovered, and Mr. Ricky's brooding heart was lightened. He thanked the Autobots for all their help.
