Considering the way his Angry face talks, might it be worth it to replace the Letterman reference with an Arnold Schwarzenegger reference? --Detour 19:21, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
:Works either way for me, but Letterman's just who I thought of first. Of course, as you note, with the whole Teutonic accent thing (NB: I haven't seen the episode yet, but that's not a big spoiler for me), Ah-nold might be a closer comparison. The idea of a feverish Letterman strikes me as funnier, though.--Apcog 20:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Trivia section
For the sake of wiki integrity (I'll wait while you snicker), I'd recommend establishing a citation ASAP for that interview mentioning the idea for the character who can transform into anything. Also, while it's kind of interesting, I think the whole tie-in to three-faced representations of Buddha/Hindu deities is really tangential at best.--Apcog 15:34, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
It's equally relevant. JW 15:58, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
:::Man-E-Faces is a toy with a three-face switching gimmick. As such, it is just slightly more relevant to another toy with a three-face switching gimmick than, say, Hindu mythology.--RosicrucianTalk 16:11, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
::::Do we want to open the door for every instance of "this toy has a gimmick like this other non-Transformers toy"?
::::Or, if the three-faces thing is unusual enough to warrant an exception, the fact that it appears in two of the world's oldest religions, with 1.3 billion followers between them, might bear mentioning. Just saying. JW 16:22, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
:::::Thing is, the three-face spinning gimmick's not turned up very much in toys--certainly not Stateside. Man-E-Faces and this upcoming Blitzwing are the only ones I know of to use it. In addition, Man-E-Faces was specifically mentioned at Hasbro's Comic-Con International panel last year as a design inspiration. While the three-faced deities have been around longer, I'd say their influence on the design of Blitzwing was far more indirect. Ashuraman earns an honorable mention as one other toy per se with the gimmick. As a compromise of sorts, Ashuraman WAS more directly influenced by the Hindu deities/three-faced Buddha, as it was produced for a Japanese market, where such influences on toy designs are more common. (It IS named Ashuraman after all.)--Apcog 16:45, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
:::::My vote's with Apcog on this. A toyline that started in the 80s drawing influence from anther toyline that started in the 80s? Not too big of a leap. Toy company designers deciding that their Gestopo commander crazy German guy is going to draw influence from a Hindu god? Uhhhhhh... I think we'd need a cite on that. -- Repowers 16:51, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
To further clarify on what i mean by that last edit: Similiar to Bumblebee,it LOOKS like the toy model cheats, while the show model uses the same cheat. The best example can be seen in Lost and found when he scans the tank. The tank he chooses already has the true holes on the side, just like the toy.86.87.28.191 20:09, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
I noticed one thing
The way Blitzwing at the beggining wanted to choose the jet in a curious face and a tank in a cross face and then he chose both in crazy face is that if he is calm, he can only transform in jet mode, if he is angry, he can only transform in tank mode, but as Mad Bliztwing, he can become both. == Real jet fighter ==
IMHO Blitzwing's jet mode is clearly based on Russian jet fighter MiG-35. Would it be worth noting that the interaction between Blitzwing's three personalities is remniscient of Freud's ego, superego, and id theory? "Icy" Blitzwing is the superego, "Hothead" Blitzwing is the id, and "Random" Blitzwing is the ego.
