In addition, Man-E-Faces was specifically mentioned at Hasbro's Comic-Con International panel last year as a design inspiration. While the three-faced deities have been around longer, I'd say their influence on the design of Blitzwing was far more indirect. Ashuraman earns an honorable mention as one other toy ''per se'' with the gimmick. As a compromise of sorts, Ashuraman WAS more directly influenced by the Hindu deities/three-faced Buddha, as it was produced for a Japanese market, where such influences on toy designs are more common. To further clarify on what i mean by that last edit: Similiar to Bumblebee,it LOOKS like the toy model cheats,while the show model uses the same cheat. The best example can be seen in Lost and found when he scans the tank. The way Blitzwing at the beggining wanted to choose the jet in a curious face and a tank in a cross face and then he chose both in crazy face is that if he is calm, he can only transform in jet mode, if he is angry, he can only transform in tank mode, but as Mad Bliztwing, he can become both. Would it be worth noting that the interaction between Blitzwing's three personalities is remniscient of Freud's ego, superego, and id theory? "Icy" Blitzwing is the superego, "Hothead" Blitzwing is the id, and "Random" Blitzwing is the ego. Plus, y'know, Freud is Austrian, which is prety close to German.
