'''Prowl''' is the Autobot military strategist. As such, Autobot Commander [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] will keep Prowl near at hand for his indispensable expertise. He does not react well to the unsuspected and despises disorder. He believes his dedication to logic and rational thought puts him next in line for Optimus Prime's job and dreams of making grand speeches -- even though in reality he's stoic and uncharismatic.

He really doesn't tend to get along well with his fellow Autobots, many of whom find his strict adherence to military protocol stifling, and his uptight personality sure doesn't help matters. The [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobot]] commander [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] ''especially'' honks Prowl off, and Grimlock feels pretty much the same way in return, only with more swear words.

A possible alternate-universe version of Prowl is active during the ''[[Universe]]'' conflict.

Prowl was part of the crew of the ''[[Ark]]'', the Autobot starship that left Cyberton looking for alternate sources of energy only to crashland on Earth. Four million years later, the Transformers were reawakened and reformatted by Teletraan-1. Despite being situated in the United States, Prowl was reformatted as a Japanese police car. No one seemed to notice.

On Earth, Prowl continued to serve as [[Optimus Prime]]'s right hand man, filling the role of military advisor and strategist. His precision thinking and by-the-books planning served as a valuable counterpoint to Jazz's more improvisational style, and it was up to Optimus Prime to weigh their views and come to a decision.

During an attack against Decepticons, Prowl's battle computer was knocked offline by a particularly fierce blow. Crippled, Prowl extended his antenna to seek out an online computer that he could patch into. He found [[Chip Chase]]'s desktop terminal, and the young human ally momentarily took control of Prowl, animating the massive Autobot warrior with his computer.

Prowl met his maker in the year 2005, alongside fellow Autobots [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]], [[Brawn]] and [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]]. During a [[Decepticon]] assault of a shuttle run to earth from Moonbase One for energon. He was felled by a single blast from [[Scavenger (G1)|Scavenger]], proving that a stylish leap when you fire your gun is all that was needed for Decepticon weapons to actually kill someone.

He does not willingly believe Ratchet when the medic tells him that the Decepticons have stepped up their presence by constructing a second base.

Shockwave was the only Decepticon not to crash on [[Earth]] in the [[Ark]], having stayed behind to pilot the Decepticon ship. After the crash of the Ark, he landed on Earth, where he was detected by the Ark's computer. It activated and reformatted the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]] to fight him. They battled in the [[Savage Land]], where both were eventually trapped in a tar pit for over four million years.

Shockwave was awakened shortly after the rest of the Transformers. He challenged Megatron for leadership, and won it. ''Megatron attempted to take control of the Decepticons back but he and Shockwave were evenly matched. In the end they agreed to a joint leadership. This was not entirely successful however.'' Shockwave became absolute leader when Megatron apparently committed suicide on the [[space bridge]].

''It was during this period that the time travelling Decepticon leader [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] travelled back fromm 2006 to 1986. Shockwave, afraid that Galvatron would challenge him for the Decepticon leadership, decided that he needed a weapon to use against him. Shortly after this Megatron reappeared in the sewers of London before becoming temporarilly deactivated at the bottom of the River Thames. Shockwave rescued him and began a brainwashing process to turn Megatron into a weapon against Galvatron. Galvatron's lieutenants [[Cyclonus]] and [[Scourge]] had also travelled back in time and let slip that that they would ultimately be responsible for Shockwave's death in the year 2007. This caused Shockwave to suffer a mental breakdown and he unleashed Megatron on the two Decepticons. Cyclonus was killed 20 years before his creation, an event that started a chain reaction that caused a rift in time and space. Shockwave then sent Megatron against Galvatron but this plan however misfired when Megatron and Galvatron forged an alliance.''

''Shockwave became despondent, unable to cope with the knowledge of his future death. It was only when [[Ravage]] appealled to his logic by showing him that he had 20 years worth of foreknowledge to prevent his death that he snapped out of his mental decline.''

Not long after Shockwave lost leadership to Decepticon fuel auditor [[Ratbat]], and was apparently destroyed after losing a fight in space caused him to burn-up upon re-entry. In truth he survived, and resurfaced later, leading a small splinter group of Decepticons against [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]], including [[Mindwipe]] and the [[Battlecharger]]s. His resistance was cut short when all Transformers were teleported back to [[Cybertron]] to face the threat of [[Unicron]].

After the battle, Shockwave and [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] stole the Ark in order to escape the dying planet. Shockwave apparently died when the Ark crashed on Earth, shortly after getting his ass handed to him by the combined force of Megatron and [[Galvatron II]].

Shockwave was a highly ranked Decepticon. Fanatically loyal to Megatron, Shockwave was entrusted stewardship of Cybertron by Megatron when the latter left to intercept an Autobot mission surveying for new forms of energy. Neither Decepticon suspected that Megatron's absence (and Shockwave's command) would last four million years. Little changed on Cybertron during those years, although Shockwave apparently lost his left hand and replaced it with a laser cannon.

He oversaw all the Decepticon activity on Cybertron, rarely leaving the planet. His keen scientific mind resulted in several incredible devices, including the [[space bridge]] and a [[Chronosphere|time machine]].

Shockwave commanded the Decepticon forces during the Unicron's attack on Cybertron, and may have been killed in the ensuing battle.

Shockwave was a Decepticon scientist on Cybertron six hundred thousand [[meta-cycles]] ago. He predicted the eventual destruction of Cybertron as a result of the Great War, and theorized that the war would spread across the galaxy. In anticipation of this, he seeded several worlds with an altered form of energon. (This is possibly the Ore 13 later found by Starscream.) After a long period of indeterminable length, at the beginning of the Ice Age on Earth, the Energon had become unstable, requiring Shockwave to place dampening devices across the worlds he'd seeded.

Before departing Cybertron, he was ordered to deal with an Energon raid by the [[Dynobot]]s (by destroying the energon and severely injuring the team of misfits). Vowing revenge, they followed him when he left the planet.

Earth was the first world he visited to plant the devices on. Before he could leave though, his ship was destroyed and the Dynobots teleported down to attack him. The concept of the Dynobots illogical behaviour based off vengeance, along with the sheer force of their attack, left him off balance at first. Unable to win through logic, he developed thought patterns based off rage. This more brutal, violent Shockwave decimated the Dynobots, burning off the organic coatings shielding them from the planet's high energon fields, forcing them into [[stasis lock]]. Deactivating his new 'rage' program for further study, Shockwave was prevented by leaving the planet by a dead man's switch on the Dynobots ship. A massive beam of energy plowed into the ground, causing a volcanic eruption which consumed Shockwave and the Dynobots. {{storylink|Spotlight #1 Shockwave|Shockwave Spotlight}}

Megatron became suspicious of Shockwave's absence and assigned [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]] to search through Shockwave's files. Bludgeon's findings later inspired him in part to reattempt [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]]'s mad plot which had, in the meantime, left their planet uninhabitable. {{storylink|Stormbringer (comics)|Stormbringer}}

In 2006, a [[Professor Goring|human archaeological team]] uncovered Shockwave's body.

''It was during this period that the time travelling Decepticon leader [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] travelled back fromm 2006 to 1986. Shockwave, afraid that Galvatron would challenge him for the Decepticon leadership, decided that he needed a weapon to use against him. Shortly after this Megatron reappeared in the sewers of London before becoming temporarilly deactivated at the bottom of the River Thames. Shockwave rescued him and began a brainwashing process to turn Megatron into a weapon against Galvatron. Galvatron's lieutenants [[Cyclonus]] and [[Scourge]] had also travelled back in time and let slip that that they would ultimately be responsible for Shockwave's death in the year 2007. This caused Shockwave to suffer a mental breakdown and he unleashed Megatron on the two Decepticons. Cyclonus was killed 20 years before his creation, an event that started a chain reaction that caused a rift in time and space. Shockwave then sent Megatron against Galvatron but this plan however misfired when Megatron and Galvatron forged an alliance.''

Not long after Shockwave lost leadership to Decepticon fuel auditor [[Ratbat]], and was apparently destroyed after losing a fight in space caused him to burn-up upon re-entry. In truth he survived, and resurfaced later, leading a small splinter group of Decepticons against [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]], including [[Mindwipe]] and the [[Battlecharger]]s. His resistance was cut short when all Transformers were teleported back to [[Cybertron]] to face the threat of [[Unicron]].

After the battle, Shockwave and [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] stole the Ark in order to escape the dying planet. Shockwave apparently died when the Ark crashed on Earth, shortly after getting his ass handed to him by the combined force of Megatron and [[Galvatron II]].

Shockwave was a Decepticon scientist on Cybertron six hundred thousand [[meta-cycles]] ago. He predicted the eventual destruction of Cybertron as a result of the Great War, and theorized that the war would spread across the galaxy. In anticipation of this, he seeded several worlds with an altered form of energon. (This is possibly the Ore 13 later found by Starscream.) After a long period of indeterminable length, at the beginning of the Ice Age on Earth, the Energon had become unstable, requiring Shockwave to place dampening devices across the worlds he'd seeded.

Before departing Cybertron, he was ordered to deal with an Energon raid by the [[Dynobot]]s (by destroying the energon and severely injuring the team of misfits). Vowing revenge, they followed him when he left the planet.

Earth was the first world he visited to plant the devices on. Before he could leave though, his ship was destroyed and the Dynobots teleported down to attack him. The concept of the Dynobots illogical behaviour based off vengeance, along with the sheer force of their attack, left him off balance at first. Unable to win through logic, he developed thought patterns based off rage. This more brutal, violent Shockwave decimated the Dynobots, burning off the organic coatings shielding them from the planet's high energon fields, forcing them into [[stasis lock]]. Deactivating his new 'rage' program for further study, Shockwave was prevented by leaving the planet by a dead man's switch on the Dynobots ship. Megatron became suspicious of Shockwave's absence and assigned [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]] to search through Shockwave's files. Jazz served as pilot for the ''[[Ark]]'' until severe asteroid turbulence knocked him from his seat. The Decepticons took advantage of the confusion and attacked, and both vessels and parties crash-landed on Earth.

Four million years later, in 1984, the Autobots and Decepticons awoke reformatted to fit in on the planet. Jazz traded in his sleek Cybertronian form for an even sleeker Porsche 935 Turbo. As a lieutenant to [[Optimus Prime]] Jazz was tasked to assemble task forces and special mission teams to counter the Decepticon threat. Jazz later attended the [[Matrix]]-transfer ceremony at the [[Chamber of the Ancients]]; he attempted to save Optronix - now Optimus Prime - when he was attacked by [[Decepticons]], but was restrained by Grimlock. When Prime defeated the assassins, Jazz was convinced of his worth.

Soon afterwards, Jazz questioned Prowl's decision to allow Prime to explore the depths of the planet alone, but was prevented from pressing the issue any further when [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] attacked [[Iacon]] with an army of Decepticons. Jazz helped direct the battle from the [[Decagon]], but the defenders were soon overwhelmed. Jazz was forced to begin evacuating important artifacts and hardware from the city, but was unable to finish before the Decepticons overran the Decagon. He and a handful of Autobots made a desperate last stand, but were saved from extinction when [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] activated the planetary engines, devastating the city and forcing Shockwave's army to retreat.

7.4 million years ago, Jazz witnessed the [[space bridge]] explosion that seemingly killed Prime and [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]]. After the subsequent fragmentation of the Autobot faction, Jazz remained with the Prowl-led Autobots. He accompanied a group of Autobots to investigate a [[Trypticon (G1)|new mobile battle base]] at the [[Praetorus Wharf]], only to learn that the base was fully operational. Despite the arrival of reinforcements, the titan was too much for Jazz and his cohorts; only when Shockwave recalled Trypticon to the [[Neutral Territories]] were they saved them from certain doom.

Battered, Jazz and the others limped back to Iacon, only to be forced to repel an attack on [[Autobase]] by [[The Fallen]]. Although Jazz, [[Mirage (G1)|Mirage]], and [[Sunstreaker (G1)|Sunstreaker]] fought valiantly, the mysterious entity defeated them and achived his objective: freeing [[Blitzwing (G1)|Blitzwing]] from captivity.

Jazz was among the crew of the ''[[Ark (G1)|Ark]]'' when it crashed on [[Earth]], and awoke in 1984 to battle the Decepticons. After years of fighting, Jazz and the other Autobots took part in [[Operation Liberation]] in 1998, a joint human/Autobot operation that defeated and captured the Earth-bound Decepticons. However, the ''[[Ark II]]'', which was meant to convey the Autobots, the captured Decepticons, and a number of humans back to Cybertron was sabotaged by General [[Robert Hallo]], sending Jazz and his comrades to the bottom of the [[Arctic Ocean]].

A few years later, Optimus Prime awoke Jazz and a number of other Autobots, to combat the sinister [[Lazarus]]. He aided in the cleanup of Lazarus' latest target, the [[SmitCo]] oil refinery, and then moved on to Lazarus' base, which had been taken over by a revived Megatron and his deadly 'metal virus'. Jazz and the others briefly battled the Decepticons, but were stopped in their tracks when Hallo dropped a nuclear bomb on them. The virus absorbed most of the blast, leaving the Transformers unharmed, but continued to expand across the countryside. Jazz remained behind with a team to combat the virus, while Optimus Prime took a contingent of warriors to combat Megatron in [[San Francisco]]. Armed with [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]]-designed blasters to combat the virus, Jazz and his squad fought bravely, despite the blasters draining their energy and the well-meaning interference of the Canadian Army. But soon the virus overwhelmed them, forcing Wheeljack to sacrifice himself to destroy it. Jazz mourned over Wheeljack's fallen form.

Some time later, Jazz participated in a battle in [[Alaska]] over possession of an escape pod containing [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], only to be forced to flee with the other Autobots when Shockwave arrived from Cybertron, proclaiming a new era of peace. Shaoshao's parents ran a Chinese restaurant in New York. It was there that she met [[Marissa Faireborn]] and the two became good friends. Later, apparently deeply jealous and resentful of Marissa's romantic attachment to [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], she joined the anti-Transformers [[Earth Defense Command]] in Japan. Seen as a rising star in the organization, she was not pleased when she was assigned to the Kiss Player team and partnered with the [[Autrooper]] designated "Ne 04" (the 4th unit of [[Ne squad]]) under the command of [[Amaou]].

Shao quickly became known as one of the E.D.C.'s most skilled Kiss Players, able to power up her Autrooper partner to levels far beyond those of her teammates. The other squad members respected her abilities greatly, and at least one, [[Ringo]], may have developed a crush on her.

On one mission, Shao was sent to investigate a Transformers-related subway explosion. Following the incident, while still merged with her Autrooper partner, she happened upon a [[Legion]] member menacing a frightened young woman. She was able to briefly repel the attack before her Kiss Player time limit was reached and she was ejected from the Autrooper, unconscious and naked apart from her signature padlocked collar.

Badly damaged by the Legion's tube-shaped projectile tongue, the Autrooper turned to the young woman, [[Atari Hitotonari]], and demanded that she kiss it or die, guilt-tripping her with the possibility of what would happen if she failed to act. Atari did indeed kiss the Autrooper, merging with it and swiftly beheading the Legion. The E.D.C. determined that Atari was an even more powerful Kiss Player than Shaoshao and promptly recruited her.

Shao apparently remained with the E.D.C. long enough to meet the new recruit and make a lasting impression on her. At some point soon thereafter, however, she suddenly awoke to find herself suspended in a tube in the basement of E.D.C. headquarters. She was bound with straps, naked apart from her collar and squad armband, and her stomach had been scrawled with "Ne-04" and the number "2045", which had also been written on the severed Legion head that hung over her head. Noticing that nearby tubes held similar heads and the partially-eaten bodies of Kiss Players from other squads, she panicked as the Legion head above her woke up and began to drool with hunger.

Suddenly, [[Hot Rod]] came crashing through the roof like a comet, just in the time to rescue her! In their escape, all that Shao was able to find to wear was a China dress. Fortunately, Hot Rod stole Marissa's underwear for her during a battle with Optimus Prime.

Now, partnered with Hot Rod, Shaoshao roams Japan. Together, they battle Legion, the E.D.C. and Optimus Prime, while taking time out for fishing and martial arts practice. Although she despairs of Hot Rod's lack of discipline and his obsession with [[kiss|kissing]] her, Shao admits to greatly enjoying the sensation induced by kissing her robot partner. However, she claims that she is only using his power until she can get Marissa back from Prime.

Skywarp was one of the elite Decepticons that accompanied Megatron in infiltrating the ''[[Ark]]'' four million years ago. Upon crash-landing on Earth, the Decepticons and [[Autobots]] were dormant for four million years, until volcanic activity stirred them into consciousness. Skywarp was the first of the Ark's Transformers to be reformatted and awakened by [[Teletraan-1]]. Now an F-15 fighter jet, Skywarp next dragged [[Megatron]]'s body into the reformatting rays of the Ark's computer.

Since the Decepticons were so badly short-staffed during their early days on Earth, Skywarp was usually involved in whatever crazy plot for universal domination Megatron was hatching. This included attacks on an off-shore oil rig, [[Sherman Dam]] and the ruby crystal mines of [[Burma]]. When the Decepticons escaped the Burma operation with a cache of energon cubes, Skywarp requested permission from Megatron to teleport in order to scare off Autobot pursuers. Teleporting behind the strangely-airborne duo of [[Ironhide]] and [[Bluestreak]], Skywarp pasted the ornery old Autobot with a heat-seeking missle, knocking him out of the sky that he probably shouldn't have been able to fly around in.

Skywarp continued to serve the Decepticons for many more years, never really doing anything notable. His teleportation power did come in use when he was needed to sneak up on the Autobots (who were all in vehicle mode) and zap them with the [[transfixatron]].

In 2005, Skywarp was badly injured during the battle of [[Autobot City]]. Teleportation is a dangerous tool in the hands of a capable adversary. Thankfully for the [[Autobot]]s, it is '''Skywarp''' who possesses this ability. Skywarp's not so bright, so he's worthless as a warrior without supervision. Mostly, he uses his teleportation power for immature pranks on both friend and foe. He takes a charmingly puerile angle at thuggery, so his pranks are well-received amongst his Decepticon peers. (Excepting the victim, of course.)

Because, come on, a surprise push down a staircase is hilarious.

Skywarp was one of Megatron's troops who attacked the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]] during its mission to clear a path for [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] through an asteroid field. He was deactivated when it crashed on [[Earth]], and he lay dormant for four million years. When he and his fellow Decepticons awoke, Skywarp was given a new [[altmode]], that of an Earth jet. {{storylink|The Transformers (comic issue)}} He aided the Decepticons in their building of their new base constructed of parts from [[Harrison Nuclear Power Plant]] and joined in their attack on [[Sparkplug Witwicky]]'s auto repair shop. After the successful abduction of Sparkplug Witwicky, Skywarp, [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]], and [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] defended their base from [[Autobot]]s, though [[Gears]] and [[Spider-Man]] were able to sneak through and rescue Sparkplug. {{storylink|Prisoner of War!}}

Skywarp was one of the elite Decepticons that accompanied Megatron in infiltrating the ''[[Ark]]'' four million years ago. Upon crash-landing on Earth, the Decepticons and [[Autobots]] were dormant for four million years, until volcanic activity stirred them into consciousness. Skywarp was the first of the Ark's Transformers to be reformatted and awakened by [[Teletraan-1]]. Now an F-15 fighter jet, Skywarp next dragged [[Megatron]]'s body into the reformatting rays of the Ark's computer.

Since the Decepticons were so badly short-staffed during their early days on Earth, Skywarp was usually involved in whatever crazy plot for universal domination Megatron was hatching. This included attacks on an off-shore oil rig, [[Sherman Dam]] and the ruby crystal mines of [[Burma]]. When the Decepticons escaped the Burma operation with a cache of energon cubes, Skywarp requested permission from Megatron to teleport in order to scare off Autobot pursuers. Teleporting behind the strangely-airborne duo of [[Ironhide]] and [[Bluestreak]], Skywarp pasted the ornery old Autobot with a heat-seeking missle, knocking him out of the sky that he probably shouldn't have been able to fly around in.

Skywarp continued to serve the Decepticons for many more years, never really doing anything notable. His teleportation power did come in use when he was needed to sneak up on the Autobots (who were all in vehicle mode) and zap them with the [[transfixatron]].

In 2005, Skywarp was badly injured during the battle of [[Autobot City]]. Though he escaped with the rest of his comrades on board [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]], he was tossed out so that the others would be able to make it back to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Skywarp's body was gathered by [[Unicron]] and used to make the lone [[Armada (G1)|"Armada"]] warrior who was never seen again.

Seems likely to me that it's named after Kato, Bruce Lee's character from The Green Hornet.
