Vector Prime is an Autobot character in the Unicron Trilogy.

Vector Prime is Primus's appointed guardian of time and space. His appearance is remarked on by Hot Shot as being "ancient", and indeed parts of him appear to be covered in clockwork. Like The Fallen, he is one of the 13 Original Transformers. However, despite his age, he is extremely powerful. He can warp both space and time, and is an excellent swordsman. While he has few qualms about warping himself and the Autobots from planet to planet, he is considerably more wary of his ability to time-travel.

Vector Prime has made many claims, via the "Ask Vector Prime" column on the Hasbro website. Among them, he is apparently a past holder of the Matrix of Leadership (hence his name, Prime), and that there was once a Mini-Con who could become a Disco-ball. Most of these claims have yet to be validated.

Vector Prime has a "Guardian Mini-Con" called Safeguard, and is also responsible for the Recon Mini-Con Team.
When Vector Prime discovered that Unicron's destruction had resulted in a black hole that devoured both Space and Time, as guardian he set forth to fix it, using lost artifacts of a previous age: The Omega Lock, and four Cyber-Planet Keys; forged from the spark of Primus himself. Of course, the fact that these were lost presented certain problems for him. As a result, he returned to Cyberton in an attempt to enlist some help, and encountered the Decepticons, who tricked Vector Prime into giving the Planet Map to them. Vector Prime was vital to the Autobot cause, as he could create small-scale Space Bridges with his sword, as well as force fields with the aid of his Universal Cyber-key. On one occasion, when Megatron killed Coby, Bud, and Lori Vector Prime turned back time, although this caused him great strain. Later, he would find the Omega Lock in the spaceship Atlantis, and get it back.
In a heroic sacrifice Vector Prime used every last drop of energon in him to send the Autobots a week back in time, to before they arrived on Gigantion, sadly this incredible strain killed the guardian of time, but not before he could make his final good-byes to the Autobots. But alas this would not be the last of Vector Prime! Hot Shot is an Autobot character in the Unicron Trilogy.

Hot Shot is the quintessential young hero. He's been around long enough to earn a name for himself and a place in Optimus Prime's entourage, but he's still too young to know when he's in over his head. In other words, he's blunt, overconfident, and naive, yet brave and honorable. With time and experience, Prime believes, he could make an excellent leader, and has appointed him to his command structure accordingly. He's got the goods, but he just needs to pay attention for more than five seconds. Until that day, Hot Shot's likely response to most anything is, "Yeah yeah, like, whatever."

Hot Shot's Mini-Con partner is Jolt, though he has been known to moonlight with Mirage.

Japanese name: Hot Rod (Armada), Exillion/Exigeyser (Cybertron)

When Optimus Prime received the Mini-Con distress signal, Hot Shot was one of two soldiers he brought with him to Earth to investigate. He soon scanned the form of an Earth sports car and partnered with the Mini-Con Jolt.

When all three Mini-Cons that combine to form the Star Saber sword were collected, Optimus assigned them to Hot Shot. The Autobot was young, inexperienced, and hotheaded, so the great advantage the Star Saber granted him went straight to his ego. With the sword, he was nearly unbeatable on the battlefield until a Decepticon named Scavenger taught him the hard way that power without skill was useless against an experienced opponent. Hot Shot's naivete was his downfall. The double-agent Sideways tricked Hot Shot out of the sword, and Hot Shot was beaten nearly to death by his frustrated opponents.

Later, Hot Shot was visited by a friend from his past. Years ago, on Cybertron, he and the Autobot Wheeljack were amidst a firey battlefield blaze. Wheeljack was incapacitated, so Hot Shot left him, promising to get help. However, his Autobot comrades would not let him return to help his friend. Instead, Wheeljack was rescued by Megatron and swore vengeance against Hot Shot and the Autobots.

When Optimus Prime sacrificed himself to save Earth, Hot Shot was put in command. Hot Shot declined to take the Matrix of Leadership, which marked the beginning of a very unassertive and indecisive administration. It was also short, as Optimus Prime returned to life after not too long.

The Decepticons managed to take over Cybertron. Unicron, the Chaos Bringer, was looming over their planet, but Galvatron (previously Megatron) would not listen to Optimus Prime's pleas to unite their two factions against him. Hot Shot decided to take matters into his own hands and fought his way through the Decepticon base and countless Decepticon warriors to reach Galvatron and reason with him. If it were not for Wheeljack's intervention, he might not have survived. Under the Autobot/Decepticon alliance, Wheeljack's hatred of Hot Shot seemed to soften, and the two learned to trust each other again.

After the destruction of Unicron and the defeat of Galvatron, Optimus Prime felt he had failed as Autobot Leader, and with the end of conflict between the two factions, he exhiled himself to parts unknown. Hot Shot and Jetfire were left in charge of the Transformers.

Energon
During Energon, Hot Shot would find himself stationed on earth as the commander of Ocean City while Optimus Prime was away training new soldiers on Cybertron. Although somewhat less headstrong, Hot Shot was still a young soldier with a large mass of responsiblity placed on his shoulders.

Hot Shot often clashed with Kicker and Ironhide, the latter seeing Hot Shot as his idol. Hot Shot was often paired with Inferno as his Powerlink partner, and also Powerlinked with others as the series progressed. It wasn't until the arrival of Hot Shot's former commander and idol, Rodimus, that he would question his own allegiences. Not moved by Rodimus sudden side-change to aiding Unicron's resurrection, Hot Shot threatened to open fire, only to be struck down by Rodimus. After an incident involving Rodimus saving Hot Shot's life, he would regret his quick judgement in shame. The relationship between Hot Shot and Rodimus was eventually restored and they become Powerlink partners.

Throughout the series, Hot Shot would serve as a close soldier to Optimus Prime, surviving many battles on Cybertron and other worlds. Along with several other Autobots, Hot Shot was injured when the reborn Unicron destroyed a fledgling planet in the reformed Q-system. Hot Shot was reformatted into a slick silver body along with his Autobot comrades. He would eventually merge his spark with that of Optimus Supreme and his partners in the final battle with Galvatron. Hot Shot, like the others, was restored safely at the end of the Energon series.

Cybertron
When Unicron's destruction resulted in a black hole that threatened the Transformers' home planet of Cybertron, Optimus Prime ordered the planet to retreat into hiding on Earth. Hot Shot took the form of a blue Earth sports car.

This form came in handy when Optimus reassigned Hot Shot and Red Alert to search for Velocitron's Cyber Planet Key. He quickly developed a competitive bond with Override, the leader of Velocitron. Against Red Alert's warnings, Hot Shot joined the Great Race. Hot Shot pushed himself beyond his means, almost to the point of destruction, but no matter how he tried, he could never defeat Override. The constant racing took a noticeable toll on his body. Was he really doing this to win the Key or just to prove to himself he was still the fastest in the galaxy?

Hot Shot was in big trouble when Optimus arrived on Velocitron and found out what he was up to. But Optimus Prime changed his mind when he realized that winning the race was the only way to win the Key. With the Autobots' full support and Coby's help, Hot Shot won the Great Race and the Cyber Planet Key.

Later, he would be severely wounded when Megatron used his Death Machine Gun on him, Scattorshot, and Red Alert. Fortunately, the powers of Primus acting through the Omega Lock repaired him into Cybertron Defense Hot Shot. When the Cybertron Defense Team was sent on an advance mission to Cybertron, Hot Shot and the others had to fight their way through a legion of Scapmetals. Once Megatron arrived on Cybertron he was quickly defeated in a battle by the Cybertron Defense Team. Much later on Gigantion the Cybertron Defense Team was caught in Soundwave's smokescreen, but they managed to figure out the Decepticons mind games and defeat him.

After Override resigned from leadership of Velocitron in order to travel to a new world, Hot Shot won the race to determine who would be her successor, despite his bulky new body.

Do they predate the epesode of Micron Legend that the Minicons first start glowing?

::Double-checking the ML Yearbook, it appears to be saying that the X-Dimensions are the Mini-Cons' coloration in an alternate dimension, apparently the one viewed in the cartoon where the Mini-Cons turned on the Autobots and Decepticons and Unicron won. However, I want to run this past someone with better Japanese-reading skills than I before any X-Dimension article is written. But they are still the same characters as the normal ones... as much as any Mini-Con in the cartoons are characters. --M Sipher 22:08, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

:: Close, but not quite. The XDs represenet alternate-dimension versions of the characters, yes. But the fiction they were going to appear in, a comic story telling the war from the Mini-Cons' POV aimed at a slightly-older audience than TFs' normal market in Japan... was never produced. Interesting and weird. --M Sipher 22:34, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Grimlock
Grimlock is an Autobot in Generation 1 and a Maximal in the Beast Wars portion of the Generation 1 continuity.

Grimlock hates Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime is weak, friendly, and compassionate. Plus Prime's an intellectual, and Grimlock hates those types too, so much that he chooses to speak very poorly. Grimlock believes a leader should show his strength by attacking quickly and mercilessly. Optimus Prime will often reconsider or hesitate on a set of actions in the fear of possible casualties, both Transformer and human -- Grimlock sees this as cowardice. If Grimlock were in charge, he maintains, the war would have been over long ago.

Some Autobots wonder why Grimlock is even on their side. His disposition is much more suited towards the Decepticons. After all, he values power and strength over wisdom and compassion, and furthermore, he doesn't get along with any of the Autobots. (Especially Tracks.) It's been hypothesized that Grimlock just hates Megatron more than he hates Optimus.

Grimlock is the leader of the Dinobots, a small but very close team of misfits. It's been said that anyone who enters a battle with the Dinobots usually leaves it feet-first.

French-Canadian name: La Menace
Voice Actor: Greg Berger (US)

When mysterious tremors shook the Autobot base, Wheeljack's investigation revealed strange objects behind a rock wall. After removing the wall, the Autobots found a cave full of dinosaur bones. The Autobots decided the idea of dinosaurs was interesting and researched the prehistoric beasts. Wheeljack and Ratchet asked Optimus Prime if they could build robot dinosaurs, and Prime agreed this was a good idea. Grimlock, Slag, and Sludge were built and unveiled to the Autobots, but the Dinobots were dimwitted and violent, and they attacked their makers. Grimlock blasted Teletraan-I with his fire-breath, damaging it. Optimus Prime decreed that the Dinobots must be destroyed. However, Wheeljack convinced him instead to lock them away, and the trio were herded back into the cave and buried alive.

Later, the Decepticons took over a hydroelectric plant, but when the Autobots arrived to stop them, the Autobots were defeated and captured. Wheeljack, Ratchet, and Bumblebee, left behind at Autobot base to finish repairing Teletraan-I, decided to go against Optimus' orders and release the Dinobots, but not before upgrading their brains to be smarter and more obedient. After the Dinobots are reactivated, Wheeljack asks them to save their friends. Grimlock says he will obey... this time. They successfully attack the Decepticons and free the imprisoned Autobots. Optimus forgives Wheeljack, Ratchet, and Bumblebee for disobeying his orders and welcomes the victorious Dinobots back to the Autobots.

After a meteor surging with unknown energies struck the Earth, Optimus ordered the three Dinobots to guard it. He was so pleased with the Dinobots he asked Ratchet and Wheeljack to build two more. Meanwhile, Megatron was frustrated at the Dinobots' success, and sent Soundwave to probe them for potential weaknesses. Reading the Dinobots' minds, he discovered that Grimlock was arrogant and believed he would make a better leader than the weak Optimus Prime. Megatron decided to use this to his advantage, and approached them himself. He played to Grimlock's jealousy and agreed with him that the strongest should be leader. The Dinobots declared Optimus Prime their enemy.

Realizing the meteorite was due to explode, Optimus left to warn the Dinobots, but they attacked him. But instead of destroying him completely, Grimlock carried him to the Decepticons, who had stolen the meteorite during the battle. Megatron was angry that Optimus Prime was not destroyed, and Starscream suggested that despite Grimlock's arrogance, inside he was still compassionate. This enraged Grimlock. They were interrupted by the two new Dinobots, Snarl and Swoop, whom Megatron ordered the original three Dinobots to attack. At the climax of the battle, the meteorite exploded, but Optimus Prime pushed Grimlock out of the way, saving him. Grimlock realized the error of his ways and the Dinobots forced the Decepticons into retreat. Grimlock apologized for his jealousy.

The Decepticons joined forces with Sub-Atlantica and staged a full-scale attack on Washington, D.C.. The Autobots were overwhelmed, forcing Wheeljack to call for the Dinobots' assistance. Grimlock expressed his frustration at being called whenever the Autobots were in over their heads. With their help, the Autobots were able to overturn the Decepticons' advance and plunge the city of Sub-Atlantica, burning, into the sea. This pattern of the Autobots' dependence on the Dinobots repeated when the artificial intelligence TORQ III turned machines against mankind. With every piece of help he and his troops gave, Grimlock was never slow to add a scathing remark about the inabilities of the Autobots. That said, he was not unwilling to admit the failings of his own troops, either, and willingly took them to the time-displaced "Dinobot Island," where they trained in the wilderness and helped stop a Decepticon raid on the prehistoric paradise.

The final straw for Grimlock came when he and the Dinobots were injured in a Decepticon trap at an airfield. Enraged, Grimlock refused to take orders from Optimus Prime any more, and led the Dinobots away from the Ark. When the Autobots began to suffer from Cybertonium deficiency, Spike Witwicky and his girlfriend Carly attempted to persuade the Dinobots - who continued to function perfectly, as they had been built on Earth without Cybertonium - to steal some of the mineral from a Decepticon shipment coming in from Cybertron. Grimlock instead opted to lead the Dinobots to Cybertron itself, where they were captured by Shockwave and put to work in the Cybertonium mines, until Spike and Carly rescued them. Brought back to Earth, the Dinobots agreed to follow Prime's order again - until such time as Grimlock didn't feel like it.

By the Earth year 2005, it seemed apparent that Grimlock had undergone some degree of a personality change, becoming more childish and petulant, rather than brutish and stubborn. Throughtout 2006, he regularly participated in missions with his fellow Autobots rather than the other Dinobots, battling on the planets of Chaar, Goo, Dredd and Eurythma. He and Daniel Witwicky were transported to the sorcerous other-dimensional realm of Menonia, where Grimlock was duped into fighting on the side of the tyrannical Quintesson, the Red Wizard, and later, he helped to sniff out the "dinosaur transform static" that implicated Trypticon in the theft of world monuments. Later in the year, when Decepticon leader Galvatron had Cybertron infused with function-inverting anti-electrons, a dose of the particles gave Grimlock super-intelligence. During a mission to Unicron's disembodied head, where the Autobots were outmatched by the new Decepticon Terrorcons, Grimlock used components of Unicron's head to construct the Technobots to battle them. Combined as Computron, the Technobots felt they could not match the Terrorcons, until Grimlock transferred his super-intelligence into Computron, reverting to his old self and allowing the Technobots to claim victory.

Grimlock's greatest victory came when he and a large number of other Transformers with animal transformations were summoned to a world at the centre of the galaxy by the ex-assistant of the ancient genius, Primacron, creator of Unicron. The assistant had assembled these "Primitive" Transformers in the hope that their simple instincts could defeat Primacron's newest creation, Tornedron, but one by one they fell to him, with Grimlock apparently crushed under Trypticon. Grimlock survived, however, and followed Tornedron back to Primacron's lab. When Tornedron turned on his master, like his predecessor, Primacron's complicated plans and equations could not find a way to stop him; Grimlock, on the other hand, randomly flicked a switch which reversed Tornedron's energy polarity, undoing the damage he and done and dissipating. Dancing around over his successful saving of the universe, Grimlock decimated Primacron's lab, dubbing it the smartest thing he'd ever done
: Japanese ID number: 26
: Grimlock's toy was originally part of Takara's Diaclone Dinosaur Robo series. When Hasbro imported the toy in 1985 for the Transformers line, the blue crotch was changed to red and the Diaclone driver mini-figure was dropped.
:The original Grimlock changes from a robot into a robotic T-Rex and comes with a sword, a gun, and a rocket launcher with three rockets.

* Grimlock (Classic Pretender)
: Released in 1989, this simplified and slightly-modified version of Grimlock transforms into a robotic T-Rex whose tail becomes a hangun. He came with a large human Pretender shell with a rather knight-like armor theme, with a helmet and large cannon.

: His human shell looks a lot like Ed Asner.

* Grimlock (Legends)
: A K-Mart exclusive in its Hasbro release, this version of Grimlock is simply the inner robot of his Classic Pretender form without the shell or its accessories, leaving him only his tail/gun. In Japan, he was only available in a boxed "Hero Set" with the other three Legends toys, but with a silver face rather than the Hasbro version's orange.

* Grimlock (Action Master)
: Part of the initial assortment of non-transforming Action Master figures, Grimlock's design combines his cartoon model with extra toy-based detaling. He came with the Anti-Tank Cannon "partner" machine which Grimlock could ride, or be unfolded to form a really big "long range mortar launcher."
Generation 2
* Grimlock (Dinobot)
: Grimlock's original toy was redecoed for release in Generation 2, this time lacking the missile launcher accessory. He was available in three different colors; the first --and rarest-- in his original silver (the easiest way to spot if this is a G2 or original is by the "Autobot" tampograph on his leg), then in a medium truqoise-blue, and finally (and most commonly) in a dark blue.

:(Note: Grimlock outranked Optimus Prime in the G2 toyline! (Prime had a rank of 9.)

Beast Wars
* Grimlock (Deluxe)
: Beast Wars Grimlock is a redeco of Dinobot in gray and gold with black spots, transforming into a "raptor" of some variety. His tail becomes a sword and a rotate-blade. He was slightly retooled to have space for an "energon chip" rubsign.

: This mold is also used by Dinobots Grimlock, and was retooled to make Dinotron, Hardhead and Thrustor.

Beast Machines
:T-Wrecks may have been intended to be a new form for Grimlock, based on the references in his tech spec bio to his Beast Wars "Attack Specialist" function and other hints. However, T-Wrecks' appearances in the Universe: The Wreckers comics suggests he is a new, unrelated character.

Alternators
Universe
:The Grimlock toy released in Energon was originally created by Hasbro for release as a special new-mold addition for the Universe toyline and was intended to represent Generation 1 Grimlock.
Flint is a member of G.I. Joe in the Generation 1 continuity.

Flint is a warrant officer and occasional field leader for the counter-terrorist team G.I. Joe. His real name is Dashiell R. Faireborn. He was born in Wichita, Kansas.

He is (sometimes) the son of Nathaniel Faireborn and the father of Marissa Faireborn.

In the year 2006, Dashiell Faireborn is still quite active. Although usually busy with his duties (whatever those may be), he does occasionally take enough time off to visit with his daughter, Marissa. At least, he does it often enough that young Marissa was not immediately suspicious when a Quintesson used an elaborate hologram of her father to trick her on board its ship for examination and eventual dissection.

Judging from Marissa's reaction when told that her father was visiting, it can be assumed that she and Flint have a very loving, if not particularly close, relationship.

Because of the romantic relationship shown between Flint and fellow G.I. Joe operative Lady Jaye, it is possible that Jaye might be Marissa's mother, although she is never mentioned or seen.

(Note: Marissa's father is not named in "The Killing Jar", the episode in which his holographic double appears. However, his voice actor, Bill Ratner, is the same actor who played Flint on the G.I. Joe animated series.)

(Furthermore, Chris McFeely notes that although the script for "The Killing Jar" merely identifies Marissa's father as "Civilian," the Sunbow master Cast List notes that he is, indeed, a "60 year old Flint".)
Flint is David R. Faireborn, born in Lincoln, England. As the chief commanding officer of Action Force, the British counterpart of America's G.I. Joe, Flint had several encounters with both the Autobots and Decepticons.

When exploring a mysterious report of giant creatures in the sewers under London, Flint and the Action Force encountered first the Protectobot Blades, and then, more ominously, Megatron. Believed dead when a space bridge overloaded, the Decepticon leader had instead been transported into the sewers, where he had been wandering ever since (or so it seemed at the time: this was later revealed to be a different Decepticon, named Straxus, who was controlling a cloned body of Megatron's).

Flint bore witness to the final battle of the noble Centurion, who fought the Decepticon leader to a stanstill, and was proud to honour the noble sacrifice of yet another old soldier.

Some time later, Flint was present when multi-millionaire Richard Branson dredged both Megatron and Centurion out of the Thames as part of his plan to clean up London. Flint and the rest of Action Force tried to warn against this, and were quickly proven right when the Decepticons swooped in to retrieve and revive their fallen leader (or at least, the Transformer that they believed to be their leader).
Flint's father, Nathaniel Faireborn, served alongside Duke.

In 1985, a G.I. Joe team led by Flint attacked a Cobra shipping facility. While the facility was largely destroyed, Destro and Scrap-Iron managed to escape via Trouble Bubble, an act that led to Flint being reprimanded by Duke. Soon afterwards, the Joes detected the crash of an Autobot shuttlecraft near Portland. Flint was sent to retrieve it with a team of rookies, and managed to repel a Cobra strike team and recover an unconscious Blaster. Hours later, Flint's team was briefed by Duke, Stalker, and Scarlett on the threat posed by the Transformers.

[Note: While it was never explicitly stated, it appears that Nathaniel Faireborn was the Flint from the 1930s .]

In the year 2004, a Binaltech replacement body designed for the wounded Sunstreaker had somehow been used to revive the Decepticon, Dead End.

Fearful that unjust suspicions amongst the Binaltech Project collaborators would completely derail the joint venture, the information about the Decepticon Binaltech was surpressed. "Operation: Carwash" was then launched, whereby a special team of experts led by D. R. Faireborn conducted secret inquiries while Jazz investigated on his own.

D. R. Faireborn's inquiry led him to the Concurrence, a group of villainous humans who seek to eventually rid the solar system of all Transformers. He also learned that the Concurrence had teamed up with the Decepticons to achieve their goal, and that they had used an advanced combination of Dr. Arkeville's Hypno-chips, and Bombshell's cerebro-shells to brainwash innocent Binaltech Project scientists into reviving injured Decepticons for them. This information, he noted, should go straight to commander Ultra Magnus at Autobot City as soon as possible, so that the mind control devices could be found and nullified.

Faireborn ended his transmitted report on an anxious note, worried that Concurrence agents would soon be on him. However, he made sure to remind the recipients to keep his cover story up - to tell his family that he'd be enjoying himself at the Lunar Colony for a little while longer.

Cyclonus is a wild soldier under Megatron's rank. He is closely partnered with his comrade Demolishor, whom he sometimes shares a love/hate relationship with. He is known for having a maniacal personality and will often fire at targets frantically, risking damage to his own teammates. He has a quirky and sarcastic personality, often leading to harsh punishment by his commander. Cyclonus served Megatron throughout the Unicron Battles, and was a key player in the united Armada against the chaos-bringer. His alternator form is a helicopter, and he often took pleasure in tormenting the three Armada kids. He joined the Autobot unit after the demise of Megatron with reservations.
Voice actor: Don Brown (US) ??? (Japan)
Cyclonus returned in the Energon story as the guardian of the Cybertron City based on the moon. Although he served his purpose, he was yearning for the days of combat. Not long after the attacks on Mars and Asteroid City, the moon would be attacked too. Cyclonus would hold up a small resistance before he was presumed destroyed. As Demolishor prepared for more Terrorcon assaults on Earth, Cyclonus surfaced, having tucked tail and ran, abandoning the Cybertron City on the moon to be looted of its Energon. Cyclonus assisted Demolishor and the Autobots until Tidal Wave showed up weilding Megatron's Sword, a blade forged by Alpha-Q from the Spark of Megatron. Believing that it was proof of Megatron, Cyclonus abandoned the Autobots and Demolishor, joining Alpha-Q.

Cyclonus would once again serve Megatron when the commander was revived within Unicron for some time before sustaining damages from an Autobot assault while retreating. Having failed to topple the Energon towers, Cyclonus returned injured to his commander, begging for repairs. In a rage, Megatron bound Cyclonus to the wall using Unicron's internal tentacles as punishment. Cyclonus was then fused with Unicron's essense in a painful manner and upgraded into Snowcat, who then took up yodeling, and skiing. During the Powerlinx Battles Snowcat and Demolisher had to deal with a gigantic Insecticon, who was mutated by the Super Energon.
Unlike his brother Landquake, he thoroughly enjoys the life of a warrior. Landmine's rough around the edges and a little old-fashioned, but he's got a warm heart under that gruff exterior. Since he's so old, he bruises easily, but after some mechanical tinkering from Red Alert or Bud, he's always back up on his feet, anxious to re-enter the battle swingin'.

In his millennia of existence, he has trained a number of warriors, including Mudflap and Optimus Prime.
When Rodimus left Cybertron eons ago, Landmine was one of the Transformers who chose to go with him. Serving as a traffic guard until the war escalated, Landmine boarded Rodimus' vessel along with his co-worker and partner, Prowl, a patrol officer. Landmine would become Rodimus' right-hand soldier and his personal bodyguard.

Landmine returned to Cybertron during the Powerlinx Battles to assist Rodimus in reviving Unicron and the Planet Q system. Although Landmine served his commander without question, he was sometimes unsure of their ultimate agenda. Landmine joined Team Optimus when Rodimus surrendered his leadership to Prime. Landmine is one of the oldest Autobots currently serving the armed forces of Cybertron.

Cybertron
Now under the command of Optimus Prime, Landmine opened up more to his new friends. No longer a stranger to Optimus Prime's men, he became a soldier and a mentor to the others due to his wisdom and experience. When the Unicron Singularity threatened Cybertron, Landmine was quick to aid his commander in trying to solve this enormous problem. During the evacuation of Cybertron, Landmine was attacked by Starscream and was nearly flung into the black hole, only to be saved by a warp-gate from Vector Prime's sword.

Landmine ended up crashing on Earth. Injured in the crash, Landmine would be found by Coby, Bud and Lori. After being patched up by Coby, Landmine took quite some time to recover, but remained eager to get back at Starscream. Landmine would ultimately get that chance when he tapped into Gigantion's Cyber Planet Key and grew to a gigantic size, he was able to finaly defeat Starscream before returning to his normal stature.

In the closing credit's montage Landmine is seen battiling Starscream, when his foe returns from the "Other Dimension."

The Decepticons (Destrons usually, in Japanese shows and literature) are one of the primary factions in the Transformers mythos. They are typically concerned with such things as amassing large quantities of energon, developing powerful weaponry, and galactic conquest.

They are "the bad guys" in most Transformers stories.

Generation 1
In the various continuities descending from Generation 1, the Decepticons and the Autobots are the two great powers in the Transformer population. The factions, however, are not a complete set -- there are Transformers who are unaffiliated / neutral, or even members of smaller or splinter factions.

Many G1 timelines actually credit Megatron as the founder of the Decepticons, not merely its most recent leader. In contrast, Optimus Prime is almost always depicted as only the latest in a long line of Primes or Matrix Bearers.

Robots in Disguise
In the Robots in Disguise cartoon, the Decepticons were a brand new faction that came into being during the events of the story. Because there were so few Decepticons (only six or seven), and because they were a subset of the Predacon antagonists, they can almost be viewed as a subgroup rather than a proper faction. The RiD Decepticons were created on Earth when Megatron's forces captured a set of stasis pods from an ancient Transformer spaceship that had been found on Earth, leading to the birth of the Commandos and Scourge. The toy version of Galvatron was also labelled as a Decepticon, although this "change" in the character's faction was not established in the cartoon series.

In the Japanese version of RiD, Car Robots, the Decepticons were known as Combatrons, wich was the same thing the Combaticons, were called in Japan.

Unicron Trilogy
Animated Continuity
Armada
The exact origins of the Decepticon faction is a bit muddled. It is widely assumed, though never directly confirmed, that the movement was founded by Megatron. Also, the enslavement of the power-enhancing Mini-Cons is considered to be the impetus to the Decepticons' rise to a massive multi-planet-spanning army, though at what point in the war this occurred is unclear; it's possible the Mini-Cons' arrival was what gave Megatron the opportunity to rise to power, or that they arrived after the war had already begun.

Either way, the Mini-Cons fueled the war machine for centuries, and the war with the Autobots soon spread from Cybertron to other worlds. The self-imposed exile of the Mini-Cons to an unknown destination was seen as a major setback for the Decepticons (and something of a pyrrhic victory for the Autobots), but despite this, the war continued, as both sides had amassed a large enough power base to continue on without the Mini-Cons.

The Autobots and Decepticons seemed to fight to a stalemate, neither able to gain a distinct advantage over the other. When a signal reached Cybertron centuries later that the Mini-Cons had landed on Earth, it seems neither side was capable of sending a full force to retrieve them, despite the power they contained. Though the Decepticon force sent to Earth was small in numbers, it was far from insignificant; Megatron himself led the squad, backed by some of his most trusted warriors.

When Megatron returned to Cybertron, the overwhelming majority of the Mini-Cons were in the protective custody of the Autobots, but Megatron was unfazed; he had assembled the Mini-Cons required to make the three legendary weapons the Star Saber, Skyboom shield and Requiem Blaster cannon. Bolstered by this new power and the apparent death of Optimus Prime, Megatron attempted to take Cybertron once and for all.

But Megatron's return to Cybertron was the beginning of the end of the Decepticon army. When Unicron revealed himself as a threat to both armies, fueled by the negative psychic energies from centuries of death and destruction, the two sides eventually joined together to beat back the planet-eater. Despite the truce, Megatron and Prime engaged in a brutal duel on the surface of the weakened Unicron after the three legendary weapons had been removed from his core. Realizing their battle was keeping Unicron active, Megatron sacrificed himself, and both Unicron and Megatron disappeared into nothingness.

Energon
Megatron's final orders to his troops still stood: work with the Autobots. The Decepticons maintained a degree of autonomy, still wearing the faction sigil and often taking military/defensive positions in the growing number of energon-mining colonies, but they were ultimately answerable to Optimus Prime and the Autobots. There were naturally dissenters, most of which were captured and imprisoned. For a decade, Autobot and Decepticon worked side-by-side in a somewhat stable truce.

Both sides found themselves the target of attacks from Unicron again; hordes of Terrorcon drones, sent by Alpha Quintesson to steal energon ore with which to revive the now-shattered husk of Unicron. What the alien did not count on was that Megatron's spark had survived, and was siphoning energon from Unicron's body. Soon the Decepticon leader had revived himself in a new form, drove off Alpha Quintesson, and along with an elite cadre of soldiers and a seemingly inexhaustable supply of mindless Terrorcon drones, began his new plans for conquest.

When news of Megatron's return reached Cybertron, hundreds of Decepticons rose up and rebelled, eager to get back to conquering. But having been joined to Unicon for so long apparently had given Megatron a taste of godhood; he had no more interest in amassing a galaxy-spanning army of troops. Countless Decepticons died in the resulting battles, with Megatron more than willing to sacrifice them without a thought to attain ultimate power for himself. As the "Powerlinx Battles" - as they came to be called - came to a head, Megatron found that his actions and thoughts were being influenced and controlled by the dark spark of Unicron. Unwilling to let Unicron stand in his way, Megatron ultimately sacrificed himself and seemingly destroyed Unicron's spark by plunging himself into a newly-formed energon sun created by Primus.

Cybertron
What little remained of the once-mighty Decepticon army after Megatron's loss was at best a loose association of criminals, thugs, and lunatics, with no real political or military power to speak of. For a decade, Cybertron was once again at peace, with the population overwhelmingly Autobot or nuetral. The Transformers had withdrawn from Earth and its other colonies to focus on revitalizing their homeworld after the devastation of the Powerlinx Battles. However, two great catastrophes shattered this peace; the energon sun collapsed in on itself, forming the powerful black hole known as the Unicron Singularity, which threatened to devour Cybertron and, if left unchecked, the entire universe... and the return once again of Megatron, who had absorbed much of what remained of Unicron's power.

spoiler

Megatron's goal of attaining godhood was now at hand. By obtaining the legendary Omega Lock and the four Cyber Planet Keys, Megatron intended to accellerate the growth of the black hole, consuming the universe in a vast sea of nothingness that only he would survive, then use his powers to re-create the universe in his image.

To this end, he had no need of an army. He gathered a small group of allies and lackeys to seek the items he needed, but they were nothing more than pawns to him, to be used and discarded at a whim.

The Decepticons briefly regained their status as a mass army of individuals when Starscream, who had long suffered at Megatron's hands since the beginning of the Decepticons, made his own bid for ultimate power. Having sealed Megatron and his troops in a trap, Starscream freed hundreds of criminal Transformers who had been locked up on Earth for millenia, and formed his own globe-spanning army. The Decepticon "Monsters" were tasked with finding the Omega Lock and Earth's Cyber Planet Key, which they eventually brought to their leader. However, numerous Decepticons were killed in the battles with the Autobots, and it soon became apparent that Starscream, like Megatron before him, didn't care. Most of these criminals soon abandoned Starscream and went into hiding.

As for Megatron, he too had deserters among his own considerably-small ranks. Most notably, the powerful Scourge, leader of the Jungle Planet and the colossal Menasor from Gigantion, both of whom joined forces with their former enemies the Autobots.

This was not seen as a concern for Megatron, however. Byt the time those two had left him, Starscream was seemingly destroyed, and Megatron (then calling himself "Galvatron" again) had the Omega Lock and all four Keys. What few Decepticons remained loyal to him were too stupid to see what Galvatron had planned, and made perfect distractions as he set his final plan in motion. If they weren't strong enough to survive the coming cataclysm, then so be it.

Galvatron's plan failed, and the Unicron Singularity was sealed. His remaining Decepticons quickly left him, realizing what was likely to have happened to them, and eventually joined the Autobots. After Galvatron's seemingly-final defeat and death in a one-on-one duel with Optimus Prime's, the Decepticons rose again, albeit in a rather pathetic fashion. Having cobbled together a rather rickety rocket, Ransack, Crumplezone and Thunderblast shanghai'd the reluctant Thundercracker, who was really keen on being on the winning side for once, and flew off to parts unknown as the New Decepticon Army.
It's pretty unlikely that they got very far.

During the closing credit's montage Starscream and a Galvatron-esque figure are seen again, what this means for the Decepticon army is uknown.
By the year 2006, Cobra's one-time leader was a homeless vagrant, selling the use of his organization's synthoid technology to small-time mobsters.

While nothing is stated outright, it appears that the threat of mighty Cobra is now but a memory, in it's place new terrorist cells such as S.K.A.R. and the I.R.O.N. Army, have rose up, to antagonize the "decendents" of G.I. Joe.

Marvel Comics
G.I. Joe And The Transformers
Cobra manipulated Senator Barbara Larkin, using her to push through the development of Power Station Alpha so that they could then steal it for their own purposes. Things went awry when the Decepticons decided they wanted it for their own, but an alliance was soon formed... and broken, when Cobra learned the Decepticons planned to use Alpha to destroy the world.

Operatives involved in this mission included Baroness, Buzzer, Cobra Commander, Destro, Dr. Mindbender, Serpentor,
Torch, Ripper, Zarana, and Zartan.

G.I. Joe Starring Snake-Eyes And The Transformers
In the midst of a scheme by Cobra Commander to bring new glory to his organization, the reconfigurable Silent Castle he had seized from Destro was put into a state of constant metamorphosis. This caught the attention of a heavily-damaged Megatron, who flew to Trans-Carpathia from Canada and was enraged to discover a non-sentient piece of architecture instead of another Transformer.

This confrontation eventually led to an agreement between Megatron and Cobra whereby Megatron would receive a new, more powerful body (designed by Dr. Biggles-Jones) in exchange for the technologies of the downed-but-functional Autobot Ark.

Cobra helicopters led Megatron and the unearthed Ark from Canada to the Cobra-controlled town of Millville, New York, where its brainwashed denizens began to unload the spacecraft. Their operation was discovered by the G.I. Joe team, who Megatron was vocally uninterested in battling.

Not too long afterwards, a group of Autobots (Brawn, Chase, Hot Spot, Override, Skydive, and Steeljaw) arrived and battled Megatron in Millville, causing considerable damage to Cobra's property holdings and destroying any vestiges of town's use as a secret base.

As the situation continued to degrade, Cobra Commander ordered an evacuation of the town's assets and personnel from a position near the Ark. Megatron then arrived, and having captured Dr. Biggles-Jones, abruptly disregarded his previous agreement with Cobra Commander. He took the Ark for himself and blasted off, much to Cobra Commander's extreme annoyance.

In-transit, Megatron voiced that he had transferred a virus that had been implanted in his new body by Dr. Biggles-Jones to the Cybertronian technology in Cobra's possession, which would render it inoperable.

Operatives involved in this mission included Cobra Commander, Dice, Dr. Mindbender, Road Pig, Slice, and Zarana.

Transformers Generation 2
Following Megatron's departure in the Ark, a convoy of Cobra vehicles departed Millville, safeguarding a transport containing the (unknowingly infected) Cybertronian technology they had acquired.

The convoy was assaulted by Autobot Hot Spot, who feared the havoc that could be created by the alien technology in Cobra's hands. As Cobra soldiers prepared to retaliate against him, they were cut down by Snake-Eyes and General Hawk, which gave Hot Spot the opportunity to destroy the transport.

Surrounded and heavily damaged, Hot Spot destroyed himself rather than be captured and dissected by Cobra's technicians for knowledge.

Operatives involved in this mission included Cobra Commander.

Dreamwave
Transformers/G.I. Joe
In 1938, Major Sebastian Bludd discovered the Megatron and his Decepticons in a shrine in the Fera Islands. Soon Megatron allied himself with Bludd's master, Cobra Commander, and they joined forces to conquer Europe. Even the mighty Maginot Line could not stop them as they rolled through Berlin, Paris, and Rome and enslaving their inhabitants. Before long, the Decepticon/Cobra onslaught reached Great Britain.

However, treachery from Destro, the Baroness, and Starscream led the newly-formed G.I. Joe team to their Terrordrome. While engaging Cobra troops commanded by Storm Shadow, the Joes encountered the Autobots, who soon repaired and revived themselves. The Joes soon found themselves under fire from a squadron of Rattlers and Seekers led by Wild Weasel, but they were driven back by Lady Jaye and the Aerialbots.

As this transpired, Megatron attempted to dispose of his insufficiently-efficient human partners, but was humbled by a Matrix-bearing Cobra Commander.

While the Cobra aircraft were driven off, they left behind paratroopers and Rumble. The Joes managed to defeat the troops, and Bumblebee and Scarlett destroyed Rumble, but Zartan managed to murder and replace Breaker in the confusion. He was quickly discovered, but not before he allowed Soundwave to capture Flint.

Storm Shadow left the main Cobra force to engage in a deadly duel with his sword-brother Snake-Eyes, now a member of G.I. Joe. Despite the intervention of Ravage, Snake-Eyes defeated Storm Shadow, who was then eaten by a shark.

Soon, Cobra prepared to defend the town of Torhavn against the approoaching Autobots and Joes, using slaves as human shields. Another Cobra air attack was foiled by Lady Jaye and Superion, leading to the death of Wild Weasel, and Lady Jaye defeated Bludd and the Dreadnoks. Meanwhile, a small Joe strikeforce infiltrated the Terrordrome, destroying Frenzy in the process.

As the Joes, Autobots, and an Allied fleet neared, Shockwave destroyed Superion and a number of ships, damaging himself severely in the process. But despite heavy losses, the Autobots soldiered on.

Destro and the Baroness took advantage of the chaos to unleash their monstrous creation Bruticus upon both sides - but not before slaying their co-conspirator, Starscream. Bruticus' attack crippled Cobra Commander, allowing the Baroness to execute him with Megatron's pistol form. Her victory was short-lived - before the Commander's body could cool, she and Destro were arrested by Scarlett and Snake-Eyes. As the metal monster tore through the Autobots, Snake-Eyes took the Matrix from the Commander's corpse and destroyed it, killing the Autobots, Decepticons, and Bruticus and ending the threat of Cobra.

Operatives involved in this mission included Baroness, Buzzer, Cobra Commander, Destro, Major Bludd, Ripper, Storm Shadow, Torch, Wild Weasel, and Zartan.

Transformers/G.I. Joe: Divided Front
Some 45 years after the conquest of Europe, Cobra rose again. Under the command of Cobra Commander, Cobra established extensive operations in the United States. In 1985, G.I. Joe attacked a Cobra shipping facility commanded by Destro. While the facility was largely destroyed, Destro and Scrap-Iron managed to escape via Trouble Bubble. Soon afterwards, Cobra detected the crash of an Autobot shuttlecraft near Portland. Their retrieval force was repelled by a team of G.I. Joe rookies.

Operatives involved in this mission included Cobra Commander, Destro, and Scrap-Iron.

[Note: As Dreamwave went bankrupt after only one issue of this series was published, it is unknown whether Cobra Commander and Destro are in any way related to their 1930s counterparts.]

Devil's Due
G.I. Joe/Transformers
Cobra discovered the Ark and turned the Transformers within it into remote-controlled war machines. They were used to strike at Washington, D.C. and the SPS Research Facility.

Operatives involved in this mission included Baroness, Cobra Commander, Destro, Dr. Mindbender, Firefly, Major Bludd, Storm Shadow, and Zartan.

Two years later, an attempt by Cobra to seize control of Teletran-3 resulted in several Transformers being sent to various eras in Earth's history, threatening to catastrophically alter the timestream. Cobra and G.I.Joe were forced to work together to neutralize the threat.

Operatives involved in this mission included Baroness, Buzzer, Cobra Commander, Destro, Dr. Mindbender, Percy, Ripper, Storm Shadow, Tomax, Torch, Xamot, and Zartan.
The character bio for the 6" Titanium Series Megatron makes reference to him currently being controlled by Cobra Commander and his Matrix.

In the Japanese version of RiD, Car Robots, the Decepticons were known as Combatrons.
