* Thunder Clash began life as "[[Hyperdrive (Turbomaster)|Hyperdrive]]". According to the concept art, the truck mode is roughly the same (the trailer sports two large "vent sections" on the sides) but the cab and part of the trailer together form one very large robot in a fashion similar to [[Motormaster]]. For whatever reason, this robot is shown holding one of [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]]'s rifles and having a chest similar to [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Star Convoy]]'s.<ref>[[Transformers Generations Deluxe]], p113.</ref> At one point, Hyperdrive was to be the leader ''above'' Thunder Clash, but in the end, the design never saw the light of day. Interestingly, Hyperdrive does appear in [[Skyquake (G1)|Skyquake]]'s scope.
