Grimlock is a Tyrannosaurus rex in charge of a small, three-mech group of dinosaur transformers known as the Dinobots. Born from a fusion of Earth and Cybertronian technology, with some All Spark intervention thrown in, he's a force to be reckoned with. A little short on brains (at first he didn't actually realise he was a Transformer) and a lot short on temper, Grimlock's answer to a problem is usually the simplest: squash it, slash it, bite it, burn it, or eat it.

Due to his rather unique birth, Grimlock has a slow but endearing speech pattern, which can easily make you forget he's Godzilla with style. And weapons.

Currently, Grimlock and his fellow Dinobots are living on an island in Lake Erie, hidden there by Prowl and Bulkhead from the rest of the world, human and Transformer alike. This looks like its just a stop gap however, as Grimlock's discovery of his status as a Transformer means he isn't going to be happy on his little rock. After all, him Grimlock king.
Grimlock, Slag, and Swoop were originally theme park animatronic displays Isaac Sumdac upgraded with the help of Megatron and a flash of spark from Sari's All Spark key. When they came online, Grimlock dubbed himself the Dinobot leader, despite Megatron's commands. However, Tutor Bot brought up videos on how cars use fossil fuels. Grimlock believed this to mean that cars ate Dinosaurs, and Megatron convinced them to destroy the "fossil feeders", including the only thing worse than cars...cars and trucks that turn into robots.

After their defeat, they were imprisoned in an energy cage and were scheduled for meltdown. :Brawl is a Decepticon from the live-action movie continuity family. He is sometimes referred to as Devastator.

To say Brawl is a warrior is like calling Cybertron a hunk of metal. Brawl does not just enjoy fighting, he is consumed by it. Tearing Autobots apart is embedded into his very core, and every fiber-optic cable of his being is obsessed with wild, unyielding combat. The only thing he enjoys, or even cares about, is the fury of battle. And he loves a good explosion. Particularly if it's one he created, and if it was an Autobot that is exploding.
Brawl (here named "Devastator") was known as Megatron's "pet weapon of mass destruction". He follows a single guiding principle - "keep it stupid... simple!"

Megatron threw him at the Autobots so he could reach the AllSpark, and had armed him with a foldspace warhead. When the Autobots pointed out that at this range, the warhead would take him out as well, he replied "Eh. So?" and fired anyway. He loves a good explosion that much. Transformers Comic issue 2

Devastator ended up warped to an uninhabited world covered with cities, and out of sheer boredom went around smashing a lot of it before he realized he should try getting off the planet. The mysterious Flame, a power source that drove the planet's inhabitants to murder, tried to influence his mind towards rampaging until his fuel ran out; as he got nearer to it, it created apparitions of the other Decepticons that taunted him for his stupidity and attacked him. This failed to influence him as it would require Devastator to have introspection and care about being stupid - instead, he simply carried on to the Flame and left the planet, showing no interest in anything beyond doing his job. Transformers Comic issue 4
While Starscream's forces assaulted the Autobots at Tyger Pax, Brawl bashed his way past faltering Autobot defenders, bringing news that Megatron knew where the All Spark was. When Starscream excitedly declared that he must go to the cube, Brawl questioned his loyalty, prompting Bonecrusher to threaten the latter with violence lest he not take the group to Megatron. After witnessing Megatron leave Cybertron to chase after the escaping All Spark, the Decepticons followed.

Crash-landing on Earth many years later, the Decepticons were detected by a nearby US air base, which sent an armoured personnel carrier to investigate. Brawl took the words right out of Bonecrusher's mouth, remaking that at last there was something to kill. Wreckage assumed the form of the carrier vehicle, destroyed it, then led Starscream's unit to the base. Brawl trans-scanned a nearby human tank and joined the others in leveling the base. Transformers Movie Prequel (Target) Volume 2
The Autobot's victory was short-lived... and so was the Autobot, as Brawl punctured Jazz's chest with his claw, extinguishing his spark. Ironhide arrived just in time to witness the killing, and fought through a horde of Decepticon units to destroy Brawl.
Decepticon campaign
Brawl, Bonecrusher and Starscream were hiding out in a human military installation in the desert when they received word that Frenzy and Barricade had discovered the location of the AllSpark. When the three Decepticons mobilized, the two ground-based machines were assaulted by tanks designed to fire holding beams of electrical energy, forcing Starscream to back-and-forth babysit the two Decepticons as they tried to escape.

Brawl later stood by Megatron's side in Washington D.C. after they had retrieved the AllSpark from the destroyed Autobots and had decimated pretty much everything in their path.

Transformers: Autobots
Brawl appears at the Hoover Dam after successfully defusing several bombs intended to free Megatron. As Optimus Prime attempts to rendezvous with the other Autobots, Brawl blocks his only path — a hidden Air Force hangar tunneled into the canyon. During the fight, Brawl produces a pair of Tank Drones that regenerate when destroyed. He fights with his claw and multitude of guns, and when he's taken enough damage will retreat into his shell, a la tank mode. Here he becomes nearly invincible, with his only weakness being the drones scattered around the arena.

Transformers: Decepticons
Brawl first appears in Qatar, where, under the command of a Create-A-Bot, he is commanded to prevent a convoy from entering a nearby village (recognizable by moviegoers as the town where Lennox fought Scorponok) to prevent the humans from getting an upper hand over the N.B.E.s. At the Hoover Dam, he is sent to capture a human tank, which he retrieves intact so as to interrogate the occupant human. Once the interrogation is done, the tank doesn't stay intact long, as he can be seen merrily destroying it while Create-A-Bot converses with Barricade. Later, he faces off against Ironhide in a 1-on-1 street brawl involving an apparent grudge over a past encounter.

Transformers (2007) film
Brawl (also named "Devastator" here) was lying in wait at a military depot when Starscream contacted the Decepticon infiltration team, informing them that the All Spark had been found and they were to move out. Devastator acknowledged that he was in transit and rolled out of the depot. He met up with Barricade and Bonecrusher and hit the highway, though Devastator separated from the group before Barricade and Bonecrusher got on the freeway and met up with Autobot/human convoy.

Arriving at Mission City in the aftermath of Starscream's opening attack on the Autobots and their human allies, Devastator fired shells from his main gun, narrowly missing several targets before running over vehicles abandoned by human bystanders. As the American soldiers fanned out in search of cover, the Autobots charged Devastator. He focused his attacks on Ironhide, who was forced to somersault over his shells. This distraction allowed the Autobot Jazz to jump on top of Devastator and point his cannon away from the humans. Devastator managed to transform and throw the smaller Autobot off him, but not before Jazz destroyed his left side rocket launcher pod.

Damaged, but not down, Devastator fired two rockets from his remaining launcher, missing the heavily armed Autobot as he somersaulted over the missiles. Ironhide and Jazz managed to fire several shots at Devastator, disorienting him. Ratchet followed up by using his buzzsaw to slice off Devastator's left arm. The humans then fired a volley of sabot rounds while Ratchet supported with suppressive fire, knocking Devastator to the ground. The only thing that saved him was the Autobots and humans' retreat at the arrival of Megatron. Eventually, Ironhide and Ratchet disengaged from the battle as they left to protect ladiesman217, who was escaping with the All Spark, while Jazz took on Megatron. Now with fewer targets to deal with, Devastator sprayed heavy machine gun fire at the remaining humans, whose leader remarked that the battle was not going well.

Devastator continued to pin down the soldiers until the damaged Autobot Bumblebee suddenly attacked while on the back of of a tow truck driven by Ladiesman217's female companion. Devastator tried to return fire, only for his gattling gun to be destroyed by Bumblebee's plasma cannon. With the Autobot's return to battle being the deciding factor, the human soldiers rallied and fired more sabots, piercing Devastator's armor until a final shot from Bumblebee struck Devastator's spark and killed him. Devastator died as he lived: destroying things, for his chassis crashed into the building the human soliders had taken refuge in.

Devastator's body was dumped into the deepest part of the ocean along with his fellow Decepticons, in the hopes the intense pressure and cold will destroy whatever remained.Transformers (2007)
*Decepticon Brawl (Deluxe Class, 2007)
:Japanese ID number: MD-03

: Deluxe-class Brawl transforms into a heavily modified fictional tank based upon an M1A1 Abrams, fitted with angular reflective armor, a mine plow and external spare fuel canisters. Mounted upon the turret is a smaller sub-turret housing two anti-aircraft cannons and rocket launchers. The spring-loaded main cannon fires a translucent red projectile.

: In robot mode, Brawl faithfully replicates his movie design, with the only major divergence being that his main gun does not split into smaller guns (although the guns ARE on the back half of the cannon, which is situated on a slider and can be spun around. Additionally, it's been discovered that the front barrel of the main gun is detachable. Thus it is possible to shorten the barrel somewhat to appear more movie-accurate). He is reasonably articulated, with ball and swivel joints in his arms and legs. Thanks to Automorphing, pushing down on the front of his tank during transformation raises the front of the treads and his head up into position for his robot mode, and vice versa for the tank mode. He is armed with his spring-loaded main gun on his right arm and a flip-out blade on his left.

: There is a design flaw in the way Brawl's arms attach to his torso - the rhombic peg and socket system used does not provide a tight enough fit, and thus the arms have a tendency to detach at the shoulder when moved. There have also been quite a few reports of the teeny-tiny automorph gears - molded out of fragile translucent plastic - cracking and breaking into piece, leaving the automorph non-functional.

*Double Missile Decepticon Brawl (Fast Action Battler, 2007)

: Double Missile Brawl is a simplified toy version of Brawl. Designed for younger children, his transformation is designed with speedy conversion in mind, with relatively few steps compared to the Deluxe class Brawl. Additionally, in an effort to keep the design sturdy for play and safety, he has relatively low articulation for a figure of his size, while the design style of the figure is more rounded and 'friendly'. Still, he manages to retain a remarkable resemblance to Brawl's design. Two pressure-launched missiles are fired from his two missile pods.

*Decepticon Brawl (Leader Class, 2007)

:The larger, more heavily armed version of Brawl, this figure is more accurate to the character's CGI model, but with a somewhat inaccurate transformation. It features Brawl's smaller, four-gun turret on his right arm, plus the gatling gun and claw combination on his left arm. The only major diversion in his design is the main turret now resting near his right hip, a la Armada Megatron. It features more articulation and weapons than the Deluxe-class figure, as is to be expected.

:While having no firing missiles, it does feature a number of Automorph gimmicks. First, pressing the button on the front of the tank causes his head and chest pieces to move into position. A scoop/claw has been added to the front of the tank, probably to make the lever to push his head back down stand out less. Second, pressing the headlights on either side of the front end causes the paneling to swing back into place. Finally, Brawl has automorph weapons on each of his forearms - his right arm has a quadruple-barrelled cannon that extended as you slide a switch formward, while his left features a swing-out claw, deployed by pulling back the arm's cannon.

:Other features include lights and sounds, activated by pushing back on the main cannon or turning the upper turret. A pair of blades can also swing down from the legs. Although taken from Brawl's concept art, they aren't implemented particularly well; the art shows them jutting forward at a 45-degree angle from the legs, but nothing on the toy impedes the blades from swinging straight down to the ground, right into his feet. They're completely undocumented anywhere on the box or instructions, probably out of embarrassment.

:Due to the shape of his feet and the weight of the parts on his back, Brawl is not very stable whilst standing on smooth surfaces. A way to rectify this is to transform his feet only partially, folding out the toes and heels but leaving the other parts alone in their block-like configuration.

: Possibly due to safety reasons or just the desire on the part of the designers to not see fragile parts break, the main cannon and anti-aircraft guns on Brawl's turrets detach from their mounting points rather easily.
Constructed of punch-out pieces from plastic cards, he can be assembled into his tank mode, or a sort of representation of his robot mode. Oddly enough, he does not actually have his movie-model head; rather, he uses a recolored version of Barricade's noggin slapped on the Brawl body.
* According to Picture Vehicle Coordinator Steve Mann, the filming prop of Brawl was a redress of a tank prop made for another movie. Specifically, it was the 'stealth tank' seen in the film XXX: State of the Union.
*The name 'Brawl' was previously a working name for the character now called Barricade.

* A wallpaper on Hasbro's Transformers web site labels Brawl as "Demolisher", one of several working names for this character.

*Jazz' move of racing-transforming-boarding Brawl is not completely unlike the scene in The Transformers: The Movie where Kup does the same thing with Blitzwing. The DVD's special features confirm this was the inspiration.

*Brawl is the most heavily armed Transformer in the movie, followed by Blackout. Unfortunately for him, he has no chance to unleash his full armament, as many of his weapons are broken before he can use them. For example, Jazz kicks off the four-barreled gun on his left shoulder, and Ratchet slices off his left arm, blades and all.
Barricade is apparently a complicated robot. He's considered "fractious" even by Decepticon standards, yet is willing to give Starscream the benefit of the doubt and follow where he leads, at least for the time being. Though not totally dedicated to the service of the Decepticons' current leader, he is much more cautious and reserved about expressing mutinous dissent than say most. He believes that Starscream is vital in their search for Megatron and the All Spark. In many ways this makes him Starscream's closest ally in the naturally combative Decepticon ranks. Then again, it's been said that he likes to trick people into trusting him, just so he can see their reactions when they find out just how much of a bad idea it was.
The Decepticon infiltration unit under the command of Starscream arrived on Earth in the year 2003. Barricade scanned a Saleen S281 police car, then destroyed the original human vehicle to cover his tracks, as did his fellow Decepticons when choosing their new forms. It is uncertain how he managed to scan what appears to be a 2006 model in 2003.
Autobot campaign
Barricade was sent to Tranquility to hunt down Sam Witwicky and the glasses that held the location of the All Spark. He attempted to capture Sam and Mikaela outside their high school, but Bumblebee stepped in. The humans fled for the nearby baseball field with Barricade in pursuit, but Bumblebee beat him to them, protecting them while they ran away again. He followed them to the power plant, but was once again foiled by Bumblebee and sent packing.

Later, in Mission City, Barricade made one last grab for the AllSpark after Starscream, Blackout and Brawl had each fallen to the Autobots. However, he was once again intercepted by Bumblebee, and finally defeated for good.

Decepticon campaign
Upon reaching Tranquility and choosing his alternate mode, Barricade attempted some recon, but encountered a squad of Autobot drones, a battle which spilled out to the local baseball field. Shortly afterwards, he was informed by Starscream that Frenzy had information they needed, but the diminutive Decepticon had been captured by Sector Seven agents. Barricade tracked them to the power plant, then hounded the agents across town, wrecking every building in his path until Frenzy was recovered.

Finally on the trail of Sam, he was stopped cold by Sam's protector Bumblebee. Barricade got the upper hand, but the Autobot led him on a chase that ended in Bay's Demolition lot, and an ambush courtesy of a lot of Autobot drones. Barricade overcame the odds, and hunted down Bumblebee once more, finally besting the Autobot and taking the glasses from Sam.

When the Decepticons converged on Mission City, Barricade was tasked in taking out the Autobot Jazz. He later stood in Megatron's presence after the AllSpark had been recovered and Megatron ordered the Earth to be destroyed before they left it on their way to conquering all of known space.
Autobots
When Bumblebee went to investigate the source of an image found on the internet, he found Barricade waiting for him. Barricade blew up a nearby car and took off, sending out messages on the police radio that Bumblebee was responsible. After failing to lose Bumblebee in spite of all of Tranquility's police force being after him, he engaged him in combat. Unable to defeat Bumblebee, he hastily retreated. Later on, he encountered Bumblebee and Optimus Prime as the two were leaving Hoover Dam. With a large helicopter Decepticon at his side, he demanded the Allspark from Prime, not even caring of the consequences. He was defeated, but revealed to Prime he was merely a distraction while other Decepticons freed Megatron from his icy prison.

Decepticons
When the Decepticon Create-A-Bot arrived on Earth, his mentor, Starscream, directed him to rendezvous with Barricade, already active on the planet. Barricade was not enamored with the idea of a partner, feeling that the Create-A-Bot would only slow him down, but after putting the rookie through his paces, he permitted him to join him on his mission in the town of Tranquility. Barricade revealed to the Create-A-Bot what Starscream had not - that the signal which had brought the Decepticons to Earth had come from Megatron himself. The rookie dismissed Megatron as a relic, and was struck by Barricade for the insult. With some help from the rookie, Barricade discovered that the Autobot Bumblebee was already on Megatron's trail; Barricade pursued Bumblebee, defeated him in battle on the outskirts of Tranquility, and acquired the data he had gathered.

Now aware that the human military organization Sector 7 was holding Megatron, Barricade arranged for Blackout to the Create-A-Bot to a Qatar military base, where they and Brawl hacked Sector 7's databanks. The file they obtained was brought back to Barricade in Tranquility for deciphering, and revealed that Megatron was being held by Sector 7 in the Hoover Dam. The Create-A-Bot suggesting relaying this to Starscream, but Barricade loudly refuted the idea, happy that the impending resurrection of Megatron would mean that he would no longer have to serve under a cowardly, back-stabbing bureaucrat like Starscream. Swayed by Barricade's words, the rookie revealed a fact that Starscream had told only him - that the All Spark was also present on Earth. Shocked by the revelation, Barricade realized that Starscream had been scheming to acquire the All Spark for himself, to ensure that not even Megatron could remove him from power. With the rookie now turned from Starscream and on his side, Barricade was able to liberate Megatron from Sector 7, and the Decepticons pursued the Autobots, now in possession of the All Spark, back to Tranquility. During the battle, Starscream finally claimed the All Spark from Bumblebee, and Barricade stood against him, intent on bringing him in for treason. Alas, the All Spark-powered Starscream destroyed Barricade, but with in death, Barricade proved to the Create-A-Bot what it truly meant to be a Decepticon.

After being active on Earth for some time, Barricade arrived to pick up Frenzy after the smaller Decepticon's attempt to hack into and sabotage the United States military network on Air Force One. Using data Frenzy had acquired, the two learned of Sector Seven, "Project Iceman", and Witwicky man, the discoverer of the entombed Megatron. The duo were able to use the internet to learn of both Witwicky man's descendants, ladiesman217, and a pair of glasses that Megatron marked with the location of the long-lost All Spark. Frenzy declared that they needed to find ladiesman217, and Barricade moved out.

Later, Barricade confronted ladiesman217 regarding his recent eBay auctions while the human was fleeing Bumblebee, whom the human mistakenly believed was out to harm him. Ladiesman217 fell for Barricade's ruse, and requested the "officer's" help, only for Barricade to transform before him. As ladiesman217 fled, Barricade knocked him onto the hood of an abandoned car, then violently demand information on eBay item 21153. Ladiesman217 and his female friend, who had been drawn into the encounter, managed to escape him when Bumblebee convinced the boy to trust him, and Barricade pursued both the Autobot and two humans to a junkyard. Activating his mace/rotating blade/thinamajig, Barricade engaged Bumblebee in battle, and dispatched Frenzy to chase down the humans. However, his battle with Bumblebee ended with Barricade heavily damaged. Considering the fact that Frenzy was decapitated, he got off lucky.

Evidently, though, he recovered, and was back to working order when Frenzy (who had survived and infiltrated Sector Seven) transmitted both Megatron and the All Spark's location to his fellow Decepticons. When the humans fled with the All Spark, Barricade joined in the pursuit along with Devastator and Bonecrusher. Devastator soon broke off, while Barricade and Bonecrusher hit the freeway, making contact with the Autobot/human convoy. Barricade attempted to clear some room for the two Decepticons by activating his sirens; Bonecrusher simply rammed everything in his way. Ladiesman217 recognized Barricade, and warned that they were in danger. Optimus Prime, Ironhide, and Ratchet aligned to block their access to Bumblebee, who contained the humans and the All Spark.

Bonecrusher went on the offensive, and Barricade's final fate was left unclear. Transformers (2007)

Barricade's disappearance from the film is puzzling. It appears he was originally meant to be destroyed, as both the novel and comic adaptations of the movie depict his destruction by Optimus Prime, who had both destroyed Bonecrusher and was delayed in joining the humans and fellow Autobots. (Alternatively the children's chapter book adaption of the film The Transformers Quest for the Allspark describes Barricade as being destroyed by the US military.) Regardless, in the movie proper Barricade simply does not appear again after Bonecrusher transforms. Since his remains are not seen among the Decepticon parts being buried at sea, it is possible he survived.
As with MOST deluxe-class cars in the Movie line, he features clear windows for his windshield and doors, but oddly his rear window is opaque black plastic.
: In robot mode, Barricade quite faithfully reproduces the CGI design, though his chest cannot deform to the same extent. He features a reasonable amount of articulation with ball joints for his shoulders and upper legs, ratcheting and swivels for his elbows and double-jointed knees (although the knees make it difficult to properly align the upper and lower portions of his legs). Barricade has no neck joint as the two car hood halves slot into place between the bottom of the head and the plate on which it sits. Additionally, his pelvis is extremely difficult (if not impossible) to clip into the underside of his torso. Barricade does not have any Automorphing gimmick to speak of; in its place is a spring-loaded extending "punching" attack on his left arm.

: As with almost all Transformers toys issued over the last few years, a few of his transformation quirks are undocumented; in robot mode front wheel panels on his shoulders are ball-jointed, allowing one to position them in a manner similar to what is seen in the movie renders. Additionally, the sections that become his claws (apart from the thumb hinge) can swing up slightly to make themselves more pronounced, and spikes on the top of his feet can be swung up.

: A much smaller version of the character, Legends Barricade features limited articulation and detail. In what could only be defined as an anomaly of physics, compared to the other Movie Legends, Barricade is quite close in appearance and transformation to the larger deluxe figure. Legends Barricade's instructions also overlook the fact that his grill can flip down to fill out his torso and raise his chest higher.
:Cyber Slammers Barricade is an amazingly cute Saleen S281 police car that transforms into an amazingly cute treacherous Decepticon pretending to be a cop. 'Slam' his robot mode down into car mode and he rolls along, slowly transforming back up into robot mode.
: A non-transforming action figure, Robot Replicas Barricade hews much closer to the CGI model of the character (albeit wrong paint job). With joints similar to the Revoltech series, he is also more posable than his transforming counterpart, plus features replacement arms that feature his "blender-blade tires" alternate hands briefly seen in the movie.
The pack also comes with non-posable figurines of Sam Witwicky in a running pose, Frenzy menacing Sam and Mikaela Banes holding the power saw she uses to attack Frenzy. ==Trivia==
* One of the promotional Saleen S281 cars used for premieres featured the slogan "Power in the hands of a few" rather than the usual "To punish and enslave", as well as Saleen decals rather than the Decepticon decals seen in the movie.

* The IDW Prime Directives seems to contradict his alternate mode, since the Decepticons were depicted as having come to Earth in 2003, yet his alternate mode is a 2006 model car. But then, Bumblebee also scanned a Camaro that won't be released for another two years. It could be that this reality's car technology is a few years ahead of our own.

* Barricade was originally going to transform into a white and black Crown Victoria. The Recon redeco of the deluxe movie toy somewhat mirrors the Vic's deco.

* Recon Barricade's license plate reads "SAGE2764", which was the message board name or member used by Joe Kyde to disseminate hoax information for a thesis project.
:Bonecrusher is a Decepticon from the Movie continuity family.

Bonecrusher is a Transformer that can be described with one word: Hate. Bonecrusher hates this wiki. Bonecrusher hates the fact that his toy is so small. Bonecrusher even hates amusingly appropriate Avril Lavigne quotes. Basically Bonecrusher hates everything and everyone, particularly buses, and lives for the day when all of creation is crushed and destroyed beneath his feet. If anyone tries to befriend him (with the possible exception of folks from Force Protection, as noted below), he will have nothing to do with them. His overwhelming anger and hatred extends even to his fellow Decepticons, including Megatron himself. Only fear of Megatron keeps him on their side. Plus, he really hates the Autobots.

Were you to ask if there was anything he didn't hate, he might tell you that he hates it when people ask that. More likely, though, he'd just grind your torso into a fine powder. The hatred of Bonecrusher isn't a quiet, brooding, sulking, thing nor a whiny Emo sort of hate. His hatred is of the explosive, violently psychotic sort, and the only thing that soothes his twisted spark is to sneer at the mangled remains of those he destroyed.

He transforms into a Buffalo mine clearing vehicle used by the military. It is made exclusively in South Carolina and the drivers routinely use it to drive to the local Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. He hates drivers, the mine clearing vehicle, the drive-thrus, and South Carolina. He loves tacos, however.
Ghosts of Yesterday
Bonecrusher was aboard the crew of the Nemesis, led by Starscream, who were searching for Megatron, who was lost thousands of years ago, along with the All Spark. He hated the Nemesis, but would hate trying to walk home more. He also hated the All Spark, but Megatron wanted it, so he decided not to complain. Finally, he hated Starscream, but all the other Decepticons do as well, making it something he has in common with his fellow Decepticons. He hated that.

Bonecrusher was picked to lead an assault on the Ark. His only response to the command was a growl, but he dislikes being in charge, as his only strategy in combat is to violently charge the enemy and rip them apart with his bare hands. Everyone else uses their stupid guns, and Bonecrusher is a terrible shot. After Blackout had his exhaust port handed to him for challenging Starscream, Bonecrusher had to drag him back to the Nemesis. Bonecrusher would have preferred to leave him to rot. During the subsequent fight, Bonecrusher has to fight Ironhide, and managed to dent his armor. However, Bonecrusher does demand answers from Starscream when Blackout demands information on why the Decepticon leader wanted to destroy an alien vessel, cause damn it, even Bonecrusher needs reasons to kill (well, not really, he was just getting fed up with Starscream). Bonecrusher was forced to drag Starscream back to the Nemesis when he was injured by the alien ship. He hates being a courier. Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday

Titan Magazines
Bonecrusher is known and feared by Autobots for never giving up. He almost killed Jazz once and pursued him & his comrade Clocker for ages - because Bonecrusher hates nice-looking shiny robots (or nice-looking anythings) and deliberately destroys them. As he says, "I figure, why should they look so nice... when I look like this!", showing he hates even himself. Clocker covered Jazz's retreat and tried to fight Bonecrusher, who hated that and killed him. Transformers comic issue 6

Transformers Movie Prequel (Target)
Bonecrusher was a member of Starscream's unit that was keeping Optimus Prime's reinforcements out of Tyger Pax. When Brawl arrived with news of Megatron and the All Spark, Bonecrusher insisted that they move on as they had already killed all the Autobots in the area. He then demanded that Brawl take them to Megatron or he would kill them all. Witnessing the launch of the All Spark, Barricade commented that Cybertron would die, but Bonecrusher replied that they should let it die, and that Barricade should join it in death. After Starscream and Blackout settled their differences, the group headed after Megatron.

The Decepticons made planetfall on Earth in Afghanistan, quickly attracting the attention of a nearby US military base, which sent out an armoured personnel carrier to investigate. Bonecrusher declared his satisfaction in finally having something to kill, but this chance was snatched away when Wreckage scanned the vehicle and destroyed it. He hated when that happened. Hitting the US airbase, Bonecrusher easily killed the humans before scanning a Buffalo mine-clearance vehicle and complaining that there weren't enough lifeforms to kill. Transformers Movie Prequel (Target) Volume 2

Note: In the panel were the Decepticons react to the arrival of the armoured personnel carrier, it is likely that Bonecrusher's speech bubble regarding the military base was actually meant for Wreckage (as the latter was the one who tracked the base location), and that Brawl was incorrectly given Bonecrusher's own speech bubble about killing things. On the last page, Bonecrusher's speech bubble asking Starscream if it was going to be easy is clearly meant for Barricade, as that is who Starscream responds to. Bonecrusher hates ventriloquism.

While hiding in a military base, Bonecrusher came under attack by the humans twice, and required assistance from Starscream to escape. He hates needing help from people, especially from people he hates.

Bonecrusher was hiding out in the motor pool of a military base when he received a communique from Starscream ordering the Decepticons to to mobilize and converge on the location of the All Spark. He rendezvoused with Barricade and Devastator, and the three Decepticons headed off together to intercept the Autobots and their human allies who had the All Spark in their possession.

Devastator wandered off somewhere, so Bonecrusher and Barricade continued their pursuit on the freeway. Barricade activated his sirens to clear the traffic and allow them more maneuvering room. Unsatisfied with Barricade's less conspicuous method, and since he hated rush-hour traffic, Bonecrusher used his mine-scoop to flip cars out of his way (He kinda liked that). Surprisingly, the Autobots didn't find this out of the ordinary, and only reacted when ladiesman217 recognized Barricade and warned the Autobots. Optimus Prime, Ironhide, and Ratchet aligned to block the Decepticons from Bumblebee, who had the All Sparks and the fleshlings.

After Barricade pulled over to the side of the road, Bonecrusher transformed while still moving and skated towards the Autobots. Optimus Prime transformed and slid into position to block his path. Seeing the Autobot he really hated (and that's saying a lot), Bonecrusher smashed through a bus (it irked him), and tackled Optimus Prime, pushing him off an overpass tumbling and falling off the edge, dragging the Autobot leader down with him.

When they landed, he sucker-punched Optimus Prime, who then hit Bonecrusher so hard one of the Decepticon's optics popped free from its socket (he liked that eye... well, no, he didn't; he just hated not having it more.) The two played a little cat-and-mouse along the overpasses. After Prime jumped down to ground level, Bonecrusher swung his tail wildly at the Autobot, all the while screaming incoherently. This gave Optimus the opportunity he needed to get his sword ready... which the Autobot leader used to cleave Bonecrusher's right arm and run through the Decepticon's neck, nearly severing it. Optimus then wrenched Bonecrusher's head from its neck and tossed it aside.
: Bonecrusher transforms into a Buffalo mine-protected vehicle, with an articulated "mine-fork" for removing mines or cars or robots or unsuspecting buildings from his path. The fork can change from its packaged "Grabber claw" configuration into a more fork/shovel like configuration, a fact not stated on the instructions. He has six rolling wheels in this mode, and two sculpted, non-functional spare wheels.

: In robot mode he has elements resembling both his 2005 design and the final design used in the movie, though a major deviation to both designs is that the entire front shell halves of the vehicle mode are mounted upon his arms. His arms have limited articulation due to this kibble, but can extend out into really long arms. His legs fare better, with ball jointed hips, swivel knees and ankles, but his hips can often detach from the codpiece holding them together. The mine-fork splits to form a grabber-claw, which can snap onto victims with a geared slider Automorph mechanism. He is surprisingly okay with these little tools of death.
:Bonecrusher comes packaged with the impressively-armed Ironhide. He is depicted lunging forward on his roller-skate feet, presumably to deliver an extremely enthusiastic hug. Also, he's got some kind of a sneering grin, making him look almost happy, even if it's an evil happy.

* The real Buffalo mine-sweeping vehicle hasn't in fact, such a huge fork. It is only 14 inches (35 cm) wide. The image that inspired Bonecrusher's design was actually a Photoshopped image put on the official Force Protection company's site to make it look more impressive. A 10-foot-wide (3 m) appliance had to be fixed on Bonecrusher's arm for the movie. He hated that.

* Force Protection really, really loves Bonecrusher and that he has picked their Buffalo as its alt mode. They are actually quite proud of it. Bonecrusher is not sure what to think about that.

* Bonecrusher's toy was used as a prop for a CNN Headline News report demonstrating the real Buffalo vehicle's mine-sweeping arm. He hates the Lincoln Memorial.

* It's a matter of debate whether or not Bonecrusher actually said anything intelligible in English during his brief appearance in the finished film, or whether he is talking in Cybertronian. At various points in his fight with Optimus Prime, he does emit some garbled roars that might be English. When he transforms though, he yells something that sounds somewhat like OPP TEE MASS, he may have been yelling Optimus. However, there is little agreement among viewers as to whether he said anything at all, much less what he supposedly said. For what it's worth, the subtitles saying nothing on his speech, and the closed captions say that he is just "roaring". It could just be that he hates speaking coherently. Kinda makes you wonder why nobody has thought to contact Jimmie Wood and ask him just what the slag he was saying.

* Bonecrusher is Michael Bay's favorite character from the film, despite his limited screentime - so much so that Bay named his new dog after him. Although the Decepticons are generally cat people, Bonecrusher hates cats, so he is quite flattered. He still hates Bay for the small screen time he gets, though.

* According to the DVD commentary, Bonecrusher's sequences were particularly difficult for ILM to do at first. The solution came from videotaping employees rollerblading at speed in the parking lot, and a pair of fighting experts going through the motions wanted for Bonecrusher and Prime, then using that footage as references. And Bonecrusher hates it when nobody knows how he fights.

* Last but not least, Bonecrusher hates you. Yeah, you. You know who you are. Don't try to pretend you don't know, either. Bonecrusher hates ignorance.
He would gladly give his life to protect others and stop the Decepticons.

Badly damaged in a conflict with Megatron, Bumblebee lost the ability to speak verbally, though he can still communicate over inter-Autobot frequencies (in a fashion that seems somewhat akin to instant messaging, a useable but more distant and less personal means of interaction).

Bumblebee is Sam Witwicky's first car. Sam's father promised his son a car if Sam paid half of the money and achieved three 'A's in school. After doing so with the help of his genealogy project, his father and Sam drove to the car lot with the exceedingly long name, where among the automobiles was Bumblebee, in his '77 Camaro car mode. To prevent Sam from choosing any other car, he destroyed the windows of every other car in the lot, leaving Bobby with no choice but to sell Bumblebee to the Witwickys.

The next day Sam and his friend Miles drove Bumblebee down to the lake in a misguided attempt to impress the popular girls at a party. Observing the exchange of thinly-veiled insults between Sam and the football jocks, Bumblebee decided to help out Sam when he noticed Mikaela Banes walking home after a falling out with her now ex-boyfriend. Playing 'Drive' on his radio, Sam was inspired to kick Miles out of Bumblebee and drive Mikaela home. As the two awkwardly chatted, Bumblebee suddenly turned off his engine as they neared a romantic spot overlooking the city, playing 'Sexual Healing' and 'I Feel Good'. However Sam, not knowing his car has a mind of its own, misinterpreted this as a break-down. Mikaela attempted to fix Bumblebee with her mechanical know-how, only to leave after Sam asked her why she tolerated jerks like her ex-boyfriend. Trying to help as much as he could, Bumblebee allowed Sam to start up his engine as she walked away, this time playing 'Baby Come Back'. Arriving at Mikaela's house, Sam advanced a step towards her by stating that he doesn't believe her to be shallow at all. After she leaves, Sam quietly said to himself "I love my car."

Later that night, Bumblebee drove off by himself with Sam in hot pursuit, believing it to be a car theft. Unwittingly leading his human owner to a junkyard, Bumblebee transformed and activated his communications beacon requesting assistance from Optimus Prime and the other Autobots. Unknown to him, Sam had seen his robot form and ran off, now being being pursued by two dogs guarding the junkyard. Bumblebee came to Sam's aid, scaring off the dogs but had to escape when the police (that Sam had previously summoned when Bumblebee drove away from his house) arrived to arrest Sam for breaking-in the junkyard.

The next day Bumblebee drove back to the Witwicky house sometime after Sam had been released from jail by the police. Frightened and confused, Sam rode away from what he dubbed 'Satan's Camaro', ending up in the city and encountering Mikaela in front of a Burger King. Bumblebee followed Sam towards an industrial area, not realizing that the Decepticon Barricade was stalking the boy, intent on finding Captain Witwicky's glasses. Sam ran away from the attacking Decepticon and almost literally ran back into Mikaela after she had followed him. As Barricade bore down on the pair, Bumblebee suddenly appeared, knocking the Decepticon off his feet, then drove the humans away as Barricade gave chase.

Racing through dilapidated factories and warehouses, Bumblebee eventually arrived at a deserted chemical plant on the outskirts of town, where he waited until Barricade's back was turned before dumping Sam and Mikaela out of his passenger side door then transforming into robot mode to protect his friends. Barricade transformed and attacked, hitting Bumblebee with his tire spikes and knocking the Autobot into a chemical tank. In retaliation, Bumblebee grabbed Barricade and threw him into a electrical substation, seriously damaging the Decepticon and putting him into stasis lock. After Sam and Mikaela took care of Frenzy, Bumblebee introduced himself to them entirely through the use of his radio, explaining that it was the only way he could communicate, that he was an alien from 'the heavens' and that Sam witnessed him calling to his friends the previous night. Transforming back into vehicle mode, Bumblebee invited his friends to enter (after a moment's hesitation they did) and began to drive them to nearby Griffith Observatory.

On the way, Mikaela (who had refused to sit in the driver's seat as Bumblebee was driving), rhetorically asked Sam that if Bumblebee was a super-advanced robot, why did he turn into a piece of crap Camaro? Mildly insulted, Bumblebee stopped in the middle of a packed tunnel and forced the humans out, then drove away. As Sam lamented the fact that "four thousand dollars just drove away", Bumblebee passed another car and scanned it, driving back to his owner as a sleek and shiny 2009 Camaro. Amazed and impressed, Sam and Mikaela got back in and Bumblebee continued their journey to the observatory. Arriving, the humans observed as the other Autobots entered the Earth's atmosphere and crashed landed in various parts of the city.

Bumblebee then took his friends to a secluded alleyway where Sam and Mikaela meet the Autobots. Introducing themselves, Sam learned that Bumblebee was his guardian and that the Autobot's vocal processors were damaged in battle, Ratchet was still working on them as he fired a regenerative plasma beam at the damaged area. Optimus Prime explained that their mission was to find the All Spark, and that Sam Witwicky was the key due to his grandfather discovering Megatron on his arctic voyage.

Arriving at the Witwicky residence, Bumblebee attempted to convince his comrades to remain out of sight while Sam was talking to his father. When Sam and Mikaela were captured by Sector Seven, Bumblebee helped rescue them, eventually releasing lubricant on Reggie Simmons. Soon, Sector Seven reinforcements arrived, intent on recapturing the kids and any 'N.B.E.s' they could get their hands on. Optimus Prime tried to protect Sam and Mikaela as they hid under a bridge, but both almost fell to their deaths when they slipped. Bumblebee raced forward, transforming and catching them in mid-air. Unfortunately, this also gave Sector Seven a clear and obvious target for them to attack. Firing harpoon cables from helicopters, the clandestine human organization dragged Bumblebee to the ground as their soldiers began to freeze the helpless Autobot who reached out to Sam. The boy broke free from an agent's grip, pushing the soldiers away until he was tackled by several agents and taken away. Though Jazz objected to allowing Sector Seven to leave with their friend, Optimus Prime ordered his men to stand down, as there was no way to save them without incurring human casualties.

Taken to Hoover Dam, Bumblebee was continually doused with cryoblasts to keep him docile and inert as Sector Seven performed experiments on him. Sam and Mikaela (with some armed persuasion from Captain Lennox) convinced Sector Seven to release Bumblebee. Upon his release, Bumblebee almost lashed out at his human oppressors until Sam calmed him down, informing him of the presence of the All Spark and Megatron in the facility, and that the Decepticons were coming for both. Following the humans to the All Spark's chamber, Bumblebee hesitantly reached out to the legendary object of his people and reformatted it, shrinking the cube until it was the size that the humans could manipulate. Bumblebee and a military escort fled to Mission City, meeting the Autobots en route.

After arriving at the city, Starscream soon appeared. Recognizing the Decepticon, Ironhide and Bumblebee picked up a discarded truck in order to shield the humans from any collateral Starscream's attack would inevitably bring. One of the Decepticon's missiles struck the truck, sending both Autobots flying, with Bumblebee landing in a store front. Crawling out, Sam discovered to his horror that Bumblebee's legs had been crippled and he was barely functional. Soon, the other Decepticons arrived, led by Megatron and the remaining Autobots were engaged. Mikaela and Sam hoisted Bumblebee onto a abandoned tow truck, but refused to leave Bumblebee's side. The Autobot silently handed his friend the All Spark, trusting the fate of his people into the boy's hands and urged him to run while he still could. As Sam ran away Mikaela drove Bumblebee away from the battle to relative safety.

However, she was soon overcome with guilt for leaving Sam and the battle, and with apparent agreement from Bumblebee, turned the truck around and headed back in. She drove down the street in reverse as Bumblebee fired his plasma canon at Devastator, who was pinning down Captain Lennox and the rest of the combined Ranger/Sector Seven soldiers. His contribution was the deciding factor, confusing Devastator enough for the soldiers to counter attack, and the Decepticon was finally destroyed when Bumblebee's final cannon blast pierced his spark. Bumblebee was rather pleased with himself, and Mikaela complimented his shooting.

After the destruction of Megatron and the All Spark, Bumblebee (who had regained his voice ) requested permission to remain with Sam, to which the young man agreed. After his legs were repaired, he allowed Sam and Mikaela to make out on top of him, as the other Autobots watched.

It was the best day ever.
: In robot mode, Bumblebee does not quite accurately replicate his movie appearance due to his chest remaining mostly unchanged and the sparse yellow paint applications render his limbs largely colorless. Due to the extensive use of ball joints, he features an excellent range of articulation. Unusually for an all-new sculpt in the Movie toyline, he features traditional-styled fists with 5mm holes. Bumblebee is armed with two shoulder-mounted spring-loaded missile launchers (inspired by the shoulder-mounted missiles launchers he uses to fight Brawl/Devastator in the movie, even tough he is in his 08 Camaro mold at this point), which also double as hand-held weapons or can be mounted on ports on the undersides of his elbows. His legs and chest Automorph during transformation. Press the button or you'll break him. Seriously.

: Packaging photos and early test shots of Bumblebee featured transparent blue plastic windows and missile parts. However, the final Hasbro production toy has opaque yellow plastic. The Japanese TakaraTomy release of Bumblebee retains the transparent blue plastic parts.
The box features a diorama-style background from a movie scene, but toys themselves are unchanged from their original carded releases.
:Legends Bumblebee transforms into a yellow 1976 Camaro. Being a highly simplified toy of a highly complex design, Legends-class Bumblebee does not replicate the appearance of the robot mode very well, and has very limited articulation, detail and paint application.

:The second Deluxe class Bumblebee toy transforms into the concept vehicle for the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro. Maintaining the high standard for car accuracy in the movie line, Bumblebee is very faithful to the real-life vehicle, featuring clear blue windows in contrast to the opaque windows seen in both his previous Deluxe class toy and the Ultimate Bumblebee toy.

: Bumblebee features two Automorphing gimmicks during transformation: (a) swinging his hood down into robot mode position also moves his arms up and (b), swinging his feet down will move the rear fenders up and behind his calves, as well as swinging the rear windows to his inner calves in a spring-loaded action. Unusually, this version of Bumblebee is much more accurate to the CGI design than either the older-model deluxe OR the Ultimate figures, with the chest properly articulating in a fairly Movie-accurate manner. He's also slightly taller than most of the other Deluxe class figures, which makes Jazz very sad.

: Bumblebee features a superb range of articulation, with ball joints in his shoulders, neck, torso, wrists and upper legs, with ratcheting and swivels making up the remaining joints. Instead of the rather inaccurate missile launchers from the 1976 Camaro toy, 09 Bumblebee comes with a mostly accurate version of his plasma cannon as it appears in the movie, but for added play value can Automorph into an energy blade by opening up the halves of the gun barrel and swinging them back. The cannon can be held in either of his hands.

: Care should be taken when removing the cannon from Bumblebee's hands, as excessive force can damage the wrist ball joint socket.

: Contrary to popular opinion, the yellow pieces on the back of Bumblebee's feet are not supposed to be heel spurs, nor have they not been misassembled. They are supposed to fold up to emulate the detail found on the CGI design.

:This mold was redecoed into an exclusive 'Battle Damaged' version of Bumblebee and into Cliffjumper.

*Bumblebee (Robot Replicas, 2007)

: As part of the Robot Replicas sub-line, this version of concept-camaro Bumblebee is a non-transforming action figure that hews very close to the movie's CGI model. It features joints similar to the Revoltech toys, plus his right forearm can be replaced with his blaster-arm (or any other arm attachments from other Robot Replicas, which could lead to some fun Frankensteins). For some reason, he's orange.

: Fast Action Battlers Bumblebee transforms from concept-Camaro to robot with a considerably simpler transformation than the standard deluxe toy, intended for the slightly-younger set. He also features a spring-loaded missile launcher in his right arm.

*Ultimate Bumblebee (Ultimate, 2007)

:Similar in appearance to the second Deluxe class Bumblebee toy, albeit much larger and more complex, the 'Ultimate' version of Bumblebee also transforms into a concept vehicle of the 2009 Camaro. The toy features animatronic movement in robot mode (flapping wings, moving arms and a rotating head) and light-up eyes and headlights, activated by the movement or sounds made by the person playing with the toy, or by pressing his buttons, which also activate an obscene number of interactivate electronic sound effects. His chest button yields various phrases and a new version of the Transformers theme tune, while a button on his side produces blaster noises, more speech, and musical samples, including four different ones from Devo's "Whip It." This button also causes the toy to raise its cannon-arm and automatically fire a missile. Playing with the toy by moving it will make him repeat various phrases and samples activated by other features, as well as crashing battle noises, but when he is left idle, more unique phrases will be uttered inquiring where everyone has gone, as well as radio snippets to the same effect, before the toy eventually deactivates. Pressing any button will bring him back online with a cheerful shout.

:Transforming the toy between modes is accompanied by the classic transformation noise, and if left unattended between modes, stalling engine noises, a car horn and a car alarm will be heard. Once in car mode, new electronics are unlocked, beginning with the sound of an engine starting up. The chest button now activates the car's horn, and rolling the figure along will create an accelerating noise that increases the faster the toy is moved. More unique musical snippets will play as the car rolls along; when the rolling stops, brake lights activate and the tires screech. Yet more sounds are produced when Bumblebee is rolled backwards, and the car mode also features different crashing battle noises to the robot mode.

:All of the toy's features can be turned off by a switch, and it has an additional "Try Me" mode which allows you to hear various sounds from the toy's various functions just by pressing the chest button.

:The toy is mistransformed in the package, and all promo photos of the figure made the same mistake, presenting the car hood as a solid block resting on Bumblebee's chest. In reality, it splits up into five separate pieces to fold and collapse into a more movie-like appearance.

: A Target-exclusive, this figure multi-pack contains an unchanged Deluxe class 1976 Bumblebee and an exclusive 'battle damaged' 2009 Camaro Concept Bumblebee. Even though the 2009 figure is supposed to represent Bumblebee's damaged state as he appeared during the final battle in the movie, oddly enough the 'damage' paint decos do not appear to extend to his legs, restricting themsleves to his upper torso and car roof/door parts.
Trivia
* According to an article on Edmunds.com, the filmmakers wanted Bumblebee's original Earth form to be the 1976 iteration of the Camaro because it was the worst Camaro possible that also had chrome bumpers.

* The same article indicates that the 1976 Camaros used in the film were all purchased via online auction for under $6000 each, one for less than $2000. That one didn't run.

* One of the 1976 Camaros was sold on eBay, the bidding ended on July 18, 2007. The final price was $40,100.01.

* The Bumblebee computer generated model consisted of 7608 individual parts, 1,511,727 polygons, 19,722 rig nodes, and 8094 texture maps. The volume of all the pieces came to 1069.01 cubic feet.<ref>Robertson, Barbara (2007).
