When her pet robot dog, Sparkplug, stole her security key card, Sari chased it outside and was confronted by [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], who spoke to her as if she were Sparkplug's pet. Naturally, she freaked out, but quickly befriended Bumblebee once he saved her from a giant bug that had grown from her father's nanite experiment gone awry. Stowing away on Bumblebee and coming aboard the ''[[Ark (Animated)|Ark]]'', she came across the [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]], which infused part of its power into her security key. This allowed her to heal [[Transformer]]s, such as the injured [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]], earning her brownie points with the 'Bots. She also managed to talk the police down from shooting the Autobots, saying they were friendly (except [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]], who was grumpy, but not evil). Sari later helped teach the Autobots about [[Earth]] and [[human]]s, explaining their method reproduction to a ''very'' startled [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]].

During the unveiling of her father's new transit system, [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]] arrived and attacked. Bumblebee took a shot meant for Sari, allowing Starscream to capture him, Professor Sumdac, the Mayor, and [[Captain Fanzone]]. Sari came up with the idea to distract Starscream while she and Prowl rescued the others (even faking some tears to make it happen). Her key later saved Optimus Prime's life when she used it to revive his [[spark]]. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

Sari would go on to be Bumblebee's usual partner in crime, encouraging him to engage in such questionable activities as high-profile wrestling matches {{storylink|Total Meltdown}} and installing rocket boosters to make him go faster. {{storylink|Nanosec (episode)|Nanosec}} Sari likely hangs out with Bumblebee because she knows she can scare the holy be[[primus]] out of him. {{storylink|Along Came a Spider}}

On Sari's eighth birthday, the only other kids who turned up were the children of her dad's employees. None of them really wanted to be there and soon focused their attention on the Autobots. Sari was left alone and shunned along with Bulkhead, both morose that the kids didn't like them. Her father's present, a music robot called [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]], cheered her up, and she soon began neglecting her friendship with Bulkhead in favour of her new toy. Repeated uses of her AllSpark Key turned Soundwave into a malevolent, sentient being who tried to enslave Humanity, and she learnt she'd been wrong to ignore her friend. {{storylink|Sound and Fury}}

When the [[Decepticon]]s [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] and [[Lugnut]] arrived on Earth, the two Decepticons manhandled the Autobots. Although they survived, it made apparent the fact that more would come looking for the AllSpark, so the Autobots decided to repair the ''Ark'' and leave Earth. Sari's reaction to this was displeasure (in the form of a high pitch shout of NO!). However, they needed Sari's key to assist Ratchet in repairing the ship. Sari was unwilling to help them leave, nor was she pleased to work with a grouch like Ratchet (who was not that keen on working with a [[protoform]]), but they managed to get her to the ship. While alone with the AllSpark, Sari decided to try and sabotage the ship, thereby keeping the Autobots on Earth (and dooming her species to enslavement and/or extinction) but the key repaired the damage. After that, the AllSpark showed her an image of [[Megatron (Animated)|a giant Transformer]]. In her panic, Sari opened the air lock, nearly drowning, but Ratchet saved her. Ratchet then explained that they were leaving because they couldn't risk anything happening to Earth, or Sari. Swayed by his compassion, Sari used her key to reactivate the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s decommissioned weapons, reducing Blitzwing and Lugnut to pieces. {{storylink|Lost and Found (Animated episode)|Lost and Found}}

Eventually, [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] had decided that the AllSpark key was no longer safe in Sari's hands, and ordered Ratchet to take it from her. Distraught, Sari runs off crying, only to be captured later by [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Blackarachnia]], who was looking for the key herself. Sari basically tells her 'too little, too late' and the two basically have a heart to heart about their gripes with the Autobots. {{storylink|Megatron Rising - Part 1}}

While Sari was actually misleading Blackarachnia in circles around the frozen Lake Erie, she was grabbed by Ratchet as he brought the ''Ark'' out of the lake. She was ticked that Ratchet had lost her key, and that her dad had helped rebuild [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]], but the blame game passed after the ship crashed on [[Dinobot Island (Animated)|Dinobot Island]]. Prime told the Sumdacs to stay with the ship while they went to fight off Megatron. Fearing that they might die, Isaac Sumdac said that there was something that he needed to tell Sari, but she was more interested in finding something else the AllSpark could charge. The AllSpark refused to respond, other than cryptically displaying an image of a DNA strand. Suddenly, Megatron and Prime burst through the hull of the ''Ark'', and during their fight, the key once again fell into her hands. Sari tossed it to Optimus Prime, who used the key destroy the AllSpark and disperse its energy. Acknowledging that he had been wrong in taking from her, Optimus Prime gave the key back to Sari, saying that as the most powerful Cybertronian artifact on Earth, it was too important to be left in the hands of an Autobot.

Unfortunately, all was not well, for Sari could not find her dad...as he was now a prisoner of Megatron. {{storylink|Megatron Rising - Part 2}}

After her father's disappearance, Sari took over running [[Sumdac Systems]]. Board chairman [[Porter C. Powell]] opposed her, saying that she was too young and wasting company resources searching for her father. When the [[Cybertron Elite Guard]] arrived, Sari was cut off from the Autobots and her only source of emotional support. She soon needed them, as police drones began to malfunction, and Powell was unwilling to do anything about it. Sneaking aboard the [[Elite Guard ship]], Sari put the fear of [[Primus|god]] in [[Jazz (Animated)|Jazz]], before Bulkhead explained that Sari was okay (and Bumblebee explained that [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]] was a jerk). With Optimus, Prowl, and Jazz's help, Sari managed to get into the plant's assembly line, shtting down the systems. When she returned home, she found that she had been locked out of her office, as Powell was now CEO and Chairman of Sumdac Systems. Insisting that it was still her company, Powell revealed that Sari had no birth certificate, no adoption papers, and no social security number. As Sari tried to realized that there was no proof that she was Sumdac's daughter, Powell smugly informed Sari that there was no legal proof she existed. {{storylink|The Elite Guard}}

==Sari and fans==

*Fan reaction to Sari has been mixed{{m-}}some fans hate her, quite a few love her, and some are neutral. Considering the widespread vitriol heaped upon previous child characters in Transformers shows (e.g., [[Kicker]]), that means she's come off reasonably well.

*In contrast, her ''deus ex machina'' AllSpark key was initially less popular. However, later episodes in the first season showed it to have potentially disastrous effects when used frivolously (e.g., [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]]), and hopefully, she will cease using it as the cure for all ills.

*Since virtually the premiere of the show, fans have been speculating whether there is "more than meets the eye" to Sari; some theorize she could turn out to be a robot, though this is not really borne out by the events of the show that mark her as clearly organic (e.g., she is aged by anti-organic radiation in "[[Along Came a Spider]]" and catches a cold in "[[Nature Calls]]"). There is definitely ''something'' mysterious going on, though, as hinted by voice actor Tara Strong who said in an interview that Sari's "entire identity might come as a surprise." Actual in-show evidence of the mystery in the Sumdac family first surfaced in "[[Megatron Rising - Part 2]]", when Isaac, feeling that the end was nigh for both himself and his daughter, attempted to tell her "something important," only for Sari to run off before he could continue. In the same episode, a point is made of restating the fact that the AllSpark "chose" Sari to bear its power, and when Sari asks it for an explanation, it projects an image of a DNA strand surrounding a [[spark|blue, glowing orb]]. Although there is obviously much information yet to be divulged, the implication is that Sari is, somehow, a unique being. The most interesting piece of evidence for this is the revelation that there is no paper evidence of Sari's existence on Earth, such as social security or birth certificate, as shown in "[[The Elite Guard]]."

[[Detroit]] is in the midst of a blizzard, and as Isaac Sumdac starts to repair Megatron's body he comments that they were fortunate to have found it beforehand, while at the same time praising it for being well-constructed enough to withstand 50 years of exposure to the elements. Megatron silently gloats that Cybertronian technology is more powerful than any force on Earth. The bad weather causes a blackout and forces [[Sumdac Tower]] onto its backup generator; when Sumdac decides this will force a delay in the repairs, Megatron alternates between bluster and sweet-talk to try to get his way, but it's no use. Megatron attempts to call Lugnut again for assistance.

Lugnut and Blitzwing have just finished rebuilding themselves (after some squabbling over the last piece) in a distant forest. Starscream mocks them for in-fighting and reminds them that he is their new chosen and sworn sovereign; his two subjects retort that they serve him only under threat, not by choice. At that moment, Megatron successfully contacts Lugnut, whose newly reverential and respectful attitude both pleases and confuses (''but mostly pleases'') Starscream. When Starscream finds out Lugnut "thinks" he's hearing Megatron, the new leader is infuriated, and in his anger almost exposes that fact that it was himself, and not the Autobots, who defeated Megatron in the first place. Megatron orders Lugnut to retrieve the [[Sari Sumdac's key|Key]] and bring it to him; Starscream then notices that, regardless of the source, Lugnut is indeed being contacted by someone. He orders Lugnut and Blitzwing to obey the strange orders for now, while he himself will track the transmissions to their source and see who is trying to undermine his authority.

As the Decepticons move out, the Autobots' HQ computer notices their increased activity. The Autobots are worried about a possible full-scale Decepticon invasion. As if Optimus Prime wasn't stressed enough, Bulkhead and Prowl then take the opportunity to finally tell him bout the continued survival of the [[Dinobot (Animated)|Dinobots]] on [[Dinobot Island (Animated)|Dinobot Island]]. Prime is furious that his orders were disobeyed, but decides that given the circumstances they should try to use all resources available--but insists that he will lead the new mission to contact the Dinobots.

Optimus Prime is especially worried about the Key, both because Sari can't protect it, and because she once again is using it as a toy (this time for model-plane dogfighting). When he orders her to turn it over, Sari angrily reminds him that she was chosen for this role by the [[All Spark (Animated)|AllSpark]] itself. Prime then orders Ratchet to magnetically take the key from her, and, reluctantly, Ratchet obeys. Sari feels heartbroken and betrayed, and flees the base. An upset Bumblebee defends Sari's role as part of the team, to which Optimus responds that since Bumblebee has been such a poor team performer who makes so many mistakes, he isn't a good character witness. Bumblebee retorts that the Autobots' desperate, seemingly hopeless situation means Optimus isn't a good leader--then he leaves in pursuit of Sari. Prime orders Ratchet to take the Key to the [[Ark (Animated)|Autobot spaceship]] beneath Lake Erie, and they all depart.

Sari walks down the street, dejected and pouting about how untrustworthy the Autobots turned out to be. But she's being watched--by Blackarachnia, who abducts the girl and mockingly praises her for seeing the light. Still hoping to cure herself of her techno-organic body, Blackarachnia attempts to bargain with Sari to hand over the key. They exchange "snappy banter" for a while, which leaves Blackarachnia bored. When Sari again mentions how the Autobots no longer trust her, Blackarachnia tells her more about her own sad past and how only the power of the AllSpark can give her back a normal life. Sari seems moved....

En route to the Autobot ship, Ratchet is ambushed by Blitzwing and Lugnut, in a battle about as one-sided as Bambi vs Godzilla. He seems to challenge Blitzwing to a battle to the finish--but the three-faced robot simply freezes Ratchet solid and cracks off his crystallized arm, taking the Key with it.

On Dinobot Island, the Autobots are confronted by the Dinobots who--again--are hostile to trespassers. Prime seemingly worsens the situation, as a stranger with a heavy-handed attitude. When their familiar protector Prowl reveals himself and tries to speak, the Dinobots calm down slightly (though Prime is further frustrated to learn the [[Meltdown (Animated)|extent of his troops' misadventures]] on Dinobot Island). But in the end, the Dinobots refuse to help against the Decepticons, saying they don't want to help any robots--they ''fight'' robots. Optimus points out that the Dinobots are robots themselves.... prompting them to begin fighting each other. When Ratchet calls and informs Prime of the key's theft, the Autobots to return to the mainland. Bulkhead asks what their next course of action is, and Prime admits he doesn't know, thinking that Bumblebee was right about Prime being unfit for command.

Starscream traces the source of Lugnut's messages back to Sumdac Tower. Blasting his way in, he is shocked to find Megatron alive--but regains his composure at the sight of his former leader dismantled and helpless. The two have an elaborately deceptive conversation about loyalty: Megatron knows Starscream betrayed him, but Starscream doesn't know he knows and wants to [[Wikipedia:The Incredibles|"monologue"]] a bit before delivering the final blow. Meanwhile, Bumblebee's search for Sari leads him to the tower; when he spots Starscream through the wrecked wall, he squeezes himself into an elevator and prepares for a one-on-one battle (after using the classic "cellphone interference" ploy to avoid talking to Optimus). Right when Starscream is finally about to finish Megatron off, Bumblebee charges in, stingers blasting wildly--striking Starscream at full force and causing no damage at all. Starscream effortlessly thrashes Bumblebee, more angry at having his monologue interrupted than anything else. During this diversion, Megatron activates some of the lab machinery, propelling both Starscream and Bumblebee out of the lab and onto the tower roof.

Dr. Sumdac rushes in, hearing the disturbance. At first Megatron keeps up his usual act, warning that the Decepticons will be back soon and that he needs his new body immediately. The doctor agrees, trying to repair it as quickly as possible, while Megatron observes the rooftop action on a viewscreen and tries to electrocute Starscream through a spotlight. Lugnut and Blitzwing arrive, praising their leader, and finally it's time for the charade to end. Seeing Megatron, Blitzwing finally understands that Lugnut wasn't crazy. Lugnut forces Sumdac to genuflect to Megatron, who in turn gloats at the sight and how easily he was able to lie to his captor. Blitzwing inserts the Key into Megatron's head; its power is now his to command. Megatron quickly (''and beautifully'') repairs himself, using metal from the lab as patch-up material when necessary; in the process he steals Sumdac away to an as-yet-undisclosed location.

Up on the roof, Starscream is about to finish off Bumblebee, and down on the street the Autobots are just arriving to try to help, but all are reduced to staring in horror and disbelief as Megatron blasts up into the sky, an armored colossus.

* When Bulkhead brings up the Dinobots, Optimus says that they were destroyed, "weren't they?" However, the last time the Dinobots were mentioned was in "[[Survival of the Fittest]]", when Optimus thought the Dinobots were ''missing,'' and also suspected they were involved in the kidnapping of Sari. He has no known reason to think they were ''destroyed.''

* Despite her initial sarcasm, Sari has apparently forgotten (or is willing to forget) how Blackarachnia's use of the All Spark key nearly killed Sari herself and all organic life for miles around. She also doesn't seem to mind being kidnapped onto a rooftop again. Lesson: Never betray a kid's trust; it makes them act '''really''' stupid.

* Not so much an error as just an oddity: When Starscream stands over a dangling Bumblebee on the Sumdac Tower rooftop, Megatron sends a power surge through a roof fixture and zaps Starscream. When the scene cuts back to the roof a few minutes later, Bumblebee's back on the roof, which he likely managed while Starscream was stunned, and Screamer's confronting him again. However, with no time given for them to talk or react about the transition, the previous roof scene may as well not have happened.

* The [[scale|size of Megatron's head]] fluctuates greatly between scenes, often appearing gigantic even compared to large characters.
* When Sari is telling Blackarachnia about the Autobots taking away her key, her right leg is drawn awkwardly... almost as if it's growing out of her skirt.

Chip Chase came to the attentions of the Autobots as a friend of [[Spike Witwicky]] and the whiz behind [[Dr. Alcazar]]'s [[antimatter]] formula project. Though the Decepticons stole the antimatter formula, Chip memorized the data.

Chip has a remarkably advanced (or at least ridiculously expensive) desktop computer for 1984. It contains, among other things, a 16 Million color monitor (Chip's view of the Decepticons was no different than [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl's]]), a microphone, dial-up networking, speakers, and a sound card that could interpret Prowl's speech. Maybe he's friends with [[Ethan Zachary]].

His superhuman abilities shine when he correctly identifies [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp's]] missile is of the heat-seeking variety before [[Divide and Conquer#Continuity Errors|it even does anything to suggest as such]].

Chip is a graduate of Yal University, is able to survive [[acid rain]] {{storylink|Divide and Conquer}}, is able to stand (despite the wheelchair) {{Storylink|The Autobot Run}}, and once saved the world by getting [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] to shoot [[Teletraan I]].{{Storylink|Megatron's Master Plan, Part 2}}

He once told a group of Autobots that "No one is really disabled as long as they have courage." If any human was an illustration of this, it's Chip Chase.

When [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl's]] [[Spark|Laser Core]] was lost to [[subspace]] in a [[Genetronic Translink|GT]] Transfer accident (a technology he himself helped to create), Chip Chase volunteered to sacrifice his very own soul in order to breathe life into the now-lifeless Prowl-2, stating "Twenty years ago, we met thanks to an online message from you. Your battle computer was down, and in its place, I—" {{Storylink|Roll For It}} while something flashed in the back of his mind: "Your intelligence and personality are already in this frame. In which case..." With the help of [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] and [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]], Chip's consciousness was transported into Prowl's frame. The new entity created in this fusion is virtually indistinguishable from Prowl's old persona, thanks to copies of the original Prowl's [[Memory Core]] and [[Datatrax]], while a separate neurocomputer handles Chip's thought processes. Meanwhile, Chip's real body is stored in stasis in an [[EDC]] medical facility.

He apparently owns a chain of fast food burger joints (Named "Chip Chase's" oddly enough) with his face on the packaging. Wonder if the TV ads are as scary as the ones featuring the Burger King.
