Synopsis
The Decepticons are building engines into the side of a comet in order to alter its course and crash it on top of Metroplex. As they fire up the engines, a group of Autobots close in, led there by Perceptor. The Autobots attack, much to Galvatron's dismay. The Constructicons form Devastator, who is promptly flattened when Broadside drops on him in ship mode. In the ensuing battle, the engines are destroyed, and the comet is sent hurtling towards a small planet, which Perceptor reports is inhabited.

The Autobots attempt unsuccessfully to stop the comet before Galvatron again orders his men to engage their foe. While Galvatron and Ultra Magnus are grappling, waves of sound energy destroy the comet and cause both groups of Transformers to plummet to the planet's surface. In a nearby city, three aliens are having a disagreement. One of them, Allegra, storms out, saying that she's going to her retreat.

The Transformers recover from their crash, wondering what hit them. Soundwave describes it as the most perfect harmony ever, but Galvatron is more interested in its destructive power. Broadside breaks up the discussion by punching Galvatron, and the fight resumes. As the Constructicons form Devastator again, Perceptor blows the giant apart with one shot from his cannon. Galvatron and Soundwave depart in search of the source of the harmony they heard earlier, but Ultra Magnus spots them leaving and takes Broadside and Blaster in pursuit. Perceptor reflects that unless the trio are swift, there might not be much of them left.

Broadside swiftly passes the two Decepticons and overflies the city, which Blaster realises is laid out like a musical harmony. Magnus and Blaster meet with Basso Profundo, leader of the planet Eurythma, but Basso refuses to help them, believing that the harmony is all his people need to protect themselves. He drops a hint that Allegra might be able to help them, a fact overheard by Galvatron and Soundwave, who are spying outside. As the three Autobots go in search of Allegra, the Decepticons drop a bridge on them. To make sure, Galvatron blasts the wreckage, and the pair fly off to find Allegra.

Basso watches the two Decepticons leave, and fellow Eurythman Zebop Skandana uses a harmony to help the Autobots out of the rubble. Blaster realises that the Zebop was creating part of the harmony which originally blew the Autobots out of space, and Zebop says he's sympathetic to their cause and will help them find Allegra.

The two Decepticons meet Allegra, offering to help her overthrow Basso in return for the secret of the harmony. She obliges and Soundwave records it, but to Galvatron's rage, it turns out that she is only one part of the harmony; Basso and Zebop make up the other two thirds. Still, when the Autobots arrive with Zebop, Soundwave is testing the part of the harmony he has by destroying a rock. The Autobots set up an ambush, but Zebop is so distressed by the fact that Allegra is working with the Decepticons that he gives away their position. Galvatron starts firing, and Zebop takes refuge in Ultra Magnus's cab. Soundwave begins battering the Autobots with the harmony. When Zebop counters with his part of the harmony, Soundwave promptly records it and uses the resulting two-thirds of the harmony to devastating effect.

With the Autobots apparently gone, Galvatron terminates the alliance with Allegra. She attempts to attack them with her part of the harmony, but Soundwave retaliates, knocking her out. The Autobots climb out of their hole in time to prevent Galvatron from terminating the Eurythman, but during the resulting fight, Blaster and Soundwave struggle and accidentally fall on Zebop. Galvatron grabs his minion and departs, leaving Allegra cradling Zebop in her arms. Though the Autobots believe he's had it, Allegra uses a harmony to revive him. The Autobots leave for the city.

Back at the landing site, the rest of the Autobots and Decepticons are still fighting. Hot Spot voices his hope that Magnus, Blaster and Broadside hurry. The Eurythmans have spotted the battle, and Basso uses an amplifier to direct a destructive harmony at it. Defensor is forced to disassemble, but the two factions fight on. Basso is depressed, and his aide points out he needs Allegra and Zebop to complete the harmony. Arriving, Soundwave begins playing two-thirds of the harmony, shaking the city and provoking Basso into using the third part again, which Soundwave promptly records. He is subsequently able to use the complete harmonic weapon to attack the city. Pleased, Galvatron announces their next targets are Metroplex and then Cybertron.

Ultra Magnus's party arrives back at the city to find it devastated and their fellow Autobots badly damaged. The Eurythmans are able to repair Perceptor and the Protectobots with a harmony, and the Autobots set off for Earth.

Galvatron and Soundwave attack Metroplex with the harmony, but the Autobots soon arrive with the three Eurythmans, who nullify Soundwave's weapon with anti-sound. Blaster grabs Soundwave and uses his buttons to erase the harmony from Soundwave's tapes. Despite Galvatron raging that he hasn't ordered a retreat, the Decepticons flee anyway. The Autobots return the Eurythmans to their world, where Ultra Magnus tells them they need to learn to live in harmony.
"Yeah, yeah! Beauty like you wouldn't believe, Broadside. Sweet soul music. It's their art, their commerce, their philosophy, their whole—uh-oh, bummer. Galvatron and Soundwave are here."

Notes
Animation or technical glitches
"Carnage in C-Minor" is infamous among the fandom for the sheer number of animation errors in this episode. Among the more prominent are the following:

* Throughout the entire episode, Broadside is drawn with a previously discarded character model.

* Devastator is the exact same size as Soundwave during the start of the first battle.

* Devastator also appears before he forms later in the battle.

* While the Autobots are shooting at the meteor, they are so badly drawn that they appear to have only one leg each, left arms starting from the elbows, and enormous heads...and Superion is tiny.

*When Bonecrusher orders the formation of Devastator, he's wearing an Autobot insignia. See also the continuity error below.

* When the Constructicons form Devastator for the second time, the first shot shows four Constructicons forming the legs and the torso. The second shot shows three robots forming the arms and upper torso. This means that seven Constructicons formed Devastator.

* After watching Galvatron and Soundwave leave, Ultra Magnus dispatches Hook and Scrapper—by picking them up in his hands and bashing them together. Magnus is supposed to be big, but not that big.

* Blaster, Ultra Magnus and Zebop are shown hanging onto Broadside while he flies around. Sometimes, the shots make them appear tiny or not to be hanging onto Broadside at all. (One wonders why Zebop doesn't just ride in Broadside's cockpit, as he does for the trip to Earth.)

* Soundwave points out that Zebop is standing in the distance, while Galvatron says that "he probably is with the Autobots." Yet, Ultra Magnus is standing right next to him.

* Soundwave has a purple Autobot insignia...again. So does Broadside...

* Blaster is drawn delivering Broadside's line about "scorch-marks on top of everything else".

* During part of the battle at Allegra's retreat, Hot Spot is with the Autobots instead of Broadside.

* When Blaster explains that the Eurythmans use the harmony even for healing, Ultra Magnus is the one mouthing the words.

* When the Protectobots are combined as Defensor, Hot Spot (the main body) is fighting alongside his combined self!

* In one scene, a cel-layering error causes Blaster to appear very tiny compared to Soundwave.

* And there's even more. Seriously, how much time do you have?

<center><gallery>
Image:Carnage C-minor Magnus Broadside.JPG|"Hail Caesar!"<br />"Hail Thaethar."
Image:Bigmagnus tinyconst.jpg|We'll take revenge by merging into Devastator.
Image:Hotspot defensor.jpg|Hey! Part of me, get back in me!
Image:CarnageMiniBlaster.jpg|It's his little shoulder-angel.
</gallery></center>

Continuity errors
* In one infamous scene, Brawn and Huffer (who should also be dead) show up alive and well. And it seems Bonecrusher has switched sides, as he's helping them shoot at the giant Decepticon rocket engine he just helped build! (Huffer has the wrong paint job, too.)

* To add insult to injury, Devastator is shooting at the Autobots before the Constructicons form Devastator.

* Soundwave travels with Galvatron to find the source of the harmony. However, when the scene returns to the battle outside the city, Soundwave is with the other Decepticons at the same time.

Real-world references
* The Eurythman characters' names are all music-related puns. Allegra and Basso Profundo are references to terms related to classical music, while Zebop Skandana is named after popular music guitarist Carlos Santana and his song Zebop. And the difference shows.

* Eurythma was possibly named after the popular '80s band The Eurythmics.

Trivia
* "Carnage in C-Minor" is widely regarded by fans as the worst episode of all Transformers series, but this is seemingly due to the sheer volume of animation errors, as well as the glaringly obvious nature of many of the individual errors. However, the actual plot is certainly not the weakest to grace the cartoon series, and its "continuity errors" have little to nothing to do with the script itself...certainly not to the level of, say, "B.O.T.".

* That said, there is plenty of inanity to be found in the story too. For instance: Despite the aliens' dialog being in perfectly understandable English (or Galactic Standard or whatever), because they say everything in a sing-song rhythm, apparently none of the Transformers except Blaster and Soundwave can understand them, and the two tape decks spend a large (and annoying) amount of time translating Eurythman to "non-sing-song" for everyone else.

* Galvatron and Soundwave are briefly seen holding hands whilst flying.

* Apparently, a single blast from Perceptor's lightning cannon can cause Devastator to disassemble. And Grimlock believes that intellectuals are weak.

* Anyone else bothered that this "sonic weapon" was used to destroy a comet IN SPACE?

* This was one of several episodes subjected to the MSTF treatment at 1999.

* In hindsight, it wasn't the best idea for Soundwave to have his erase button open so it could be pushed by a enemy. Or to have an erase button in the first place. For their sake, we hope Rumble and the other cassettes had their copy-protection tabs removed.
:A Dalek is some sort of... thing... from the Generation 1 continuity family.

A Dalek is some kind of creature or object that an unknown Doctor might be very concerned about. Some Transformers have a Dalek-form as alternate mode. They are somehow associated with the word "exterminate".
Starscream flew over the English countryside, picking up transmissions involving, among other things, Daleks. To a Power Unknown!

Some time later, Octus served as one of three members of the Triumverate that ruled the Decepticons on Cybertron. His alternate mode was that of a Dalek, though how or when he scanned it, or even precisely what it looks like, is unknown. The Fall and Rise of the Decepticon Empire

Synopsis
On a spying mission on Cybertron, Soundblaster and his cassettes discover that Vector Sigma is in the process of developing a powerful new alloy named Cybertonuron, which Galvatron plans to use to make himself invincible. Despite cautions from Scorponok, who is actually more concerned over the level of power that Galvatron will achieve with the alloy more than anything else, Galvatron dispatches the Predacons to Cybertron as an advance squad, while he and the Decepticon Headmasters travel to Earth to gather up their forces there. As the Predacons begin their attack on Cybertron, Sixshot informs Scorponok that Galvatron plans to exile him, as he will no longer require him if he can acquire the Cybertonuron, galvanizing the shadowy villain into action.

Galvatron's arrival on Earth is observed by Twincast and his cassettes, cluing the Autobots on Athenia in to the Decepticons' activities. The Autobot Headmasters head for the Decepticons' Earth base for a preemptive strike, but are too late—the entire Decepticon army has already used the space bridge to invade Cybertron! Although Fortress recommends holding off on a counter attack, suspecting a trap, Rodimus Prime's concern for Cybertron sees the Autobot army head for the planet to fight back. A colossal battle ensues—combiner versus combiner, Headmaster versus Headmaster, and leader versus leader as Rodimus Prime and Galvatron face off, and Rodimus is defeated.

When Soundblaster then reports that Vector Sigma has completed the formula for Cybertonuron, and is poised to begin production of the alloy, Scorponok realises that it is time to act. Recalling Weirdwolf, Skullcruncher and Mindwipe, he equips the Headmasters with three bombs, which they will plant in Vector Sigma's chamber at the heart of the planet. When they explode, the entire planet will be destroyed, taking the Autobots and Cybertonuron with it...!
Notes
Animation or technical errors
*When the cassettes are shown sneaking into Vector Sigma's chamber at the start of the episode, Soundblaster is with them, shimmying up a tower. It is apparent that he has been animated in place of Rumble, who pops his head through the floor of the chamber in the next shot, especially since the cassettes are all then shown returning to Soundblaser, who is waiting outside.
*When Rewind transforms and enters Twincast, he's colored blue, red and yellow, looking like Twincast himself.
*Headstrong's insignia—when he shoots at the generic guards—is an odd fusion of both factions' insignias. Maybe he read his debut issue at Marvel, and got the concept of symbol-switching confused?
*As the Aerialbots charge into battle, they are led by... Superion.

*When the combiners merge, their torsos hop into the air and just hover there while their arms connect, with their legs linking up last. One might argue that the Decepticons and Aerialbots can get away with this (as they can fly), but the Protectobots don't got no excuse.
*In a dramatically drawn panning shot, Tracks is seen being kicked in the face by fellow Autobot and noted pacifist First Aid.
*Weirdwolf is colored like Skullcruncher when he and Mindwipe are ganging up on Chromedome.

Transformers references
*Cybertonuron is noted as being many times stronger than Cybertonium, the element introduced in "Desertion of the Dinobots". This is stated, however, with the implication that Cybertonium is unusually strong itself—something that is in no way indicated in its debut episode.

Trivia
*Tracks makes a rare (and very brief) appearance just before the Headmasters mix it up on Cybertron.
*This episode originally aired in a double-bill with "Terror! The Six Shadows" on September 4th.
*Exactly why Sixshot told Scorponok that Galvatron planned to banish him after getting the cybertonuron is a mystery. Despite getting useful info, Scorponok wasn't very grateful to Sixshot in later episodes.
Synopsis
From the top of the Matterhorn in the Alps, BlackZarak bombards Europe with his Devil Power, and the Autobots immediately mobilize to track down the villains. Even their allies—Cancer, Clouder, Wilder and Bullhorn, robbed of their Transtectors by Devil Z—have joined in the effort, helping to rescue people in the disaster areas despite great risk to their de-powered selves. In an underground shelter, the four youths and the dozens of survivors cluster, debating the likelihood of their survival.

Meanwhile, the Autobots head into the snowy peaks of the Alps and divide into groups to attack BlackZarak and the Decepticons from three directions. Lightfoot, Ranger and Road King are immediately spotted by the Decepticon Pretenders, who report to the other Decepticons. Overlord is about to move out and attack them, but BlackZarak holds him back and instead deals with the Godmasters from afar by burying them under an avalanche caused by his Devil Power.

Things do not go much better for Metalhawk and the Headmaster Juniors, who are immediately confronted by King Poseidon. Minerva is nearly cleaved by the Seacon combiner's blade, but Metalhawk swoops into save her, taking a blast from King Poseidon's cannons in the process. The group tries concentrating their fire on the giant, but King Poseidon retaliates with a barrage of missiles that hurls his opponents around like rag dolls. King Poseidon looms over the fallen Metalhawk and swings his sword at the Pretender, but Metalhawk blocks it with his own, and a protracted battle of strength between the two begins...

Meanwhile, Ginrai and Grand Maximus have arrived to help dig the Godmasters out, but once the task is accomplished, the group spots the pyrotechnics from the battle with King Poseidon off in the distance. Ginrai immediately takes to the air to aid Metalhawk and the Juniors, but Hydra and Buster, merged as Darkwings, stand in his way. The brothers swear to show Ginrai their true power at last, and with a cry of "Mach X Flight!", they suddenly vanish! The startled Ginrai looks around for any sign of his opponents, and is then suddenly rammed by the giant jet when it reappears behind him. Ginrai realizes that they did not truly teleport, but flew so fast that the naked eye could not follow them, and charges his body with Chōkon Power to mimic the effect for himself. Entering "Chōkon Mach Flight," Ginrai zooms towards the stunned brothers, who immediately turn tail. Once again, though, Ginrai proves to be their better, overtaking them and searing their bodies with the burning backwash of his Chōkon Power. Scarred and smoking, they fall out of the sky and crash explosively into a mountain. His way now clear, Ginrai races to the rescue of Metalhawk and blasts King Poseidon into his component parts with a God Punch. The Seacons quickly recombine, but Ginrai easily blows them into fragments with a Chōkon-powered shot from the God Cannon. Although their foe has been defeated, Metalhawk and the Juniors are badly wounded and remain behind, protected by Grand Maximus, while Ginrai and the Godmasters carry on scaling the mountain. Just before reaching the peak, Ginrai instructs the Godmasters to hold back while he makes the first strike on his own.

Up on the top of the mountain, an enraged BlackZarak punishes Hydra and Buster for their failure, repeatedly striking them with his spear. The punishment goes on for some time, until Overlord finally speaks up and stays his emperor's hand, saying that they have suffered enough. BlackZarak scoffs and hurls Overlord aside, then begins blasting the Godmaster brothers with eye-beams until they pass out from pain. Overlord rushes to their side and decries BlackZarak's actions as barbaric, but BlackZarak simply laughs in his face and says he considers Overlord to be nothing more than an insect as well. Furious, Overlord attempts to strike BlackZarak, and a brief battle between the two breaks out, brought to an end when BlackZarak impales Overlord with his spear. Terrified, Blood, Gilmer and Dauros make themselves scarce, and BlackZarak continues to torture Overlord by channeling energy through his spear...until a blast from the God Cannon knocks the weapon out of his hand! God Ginrai descends out of the sky and gets between the two Decepticons, with a stunned Overlord inquiring why he would do this for an enemy. Ginrai's answer is simple: It is because Overlord is human. BlackZarak pulls out all the stops, and the sky turns red as he unleashes his Devil Power, sending bolts of lightning lancing down around Ginrai as the Autobot attempts to help Overlord to safety. Suddenly, a volley of missiles bursts out of the ground beneath BlackZarak's feet, and he drops to his knees, his concentration broken. Sixknight has arrived to tip the scales and comes churning out of the Earth in his drill tank mode! He challenges BlackZarak to a battle and tells Ginrai to assemble the Autobots as he holds back the Decepticon leader. Quietly, Sixknight says that he is glad to have fought God Ginrai, then presses his attack...before BlackZarak bombards his body with Devil Power and causes him to explode, killing him. Ginrai returns with the Autobots just in time to witness Sixknight's death, and the stage is now set for the one, true final battle...
Quotes
"Well, I'm an expert mountaineer."<br />
"I know you are! Let's carry on!"
:—Ranger and Road King, scaling the Matterhorn.

"I don't need idiots like you! I can conquer the Earth by myself!"
:—BlackZarak

"Okay, go to Hell now, Overlord. OW! Aw darn, who was that?"
:—God Ginrai interrupts BlackZarak.

"Let me tell you, Z, you can't win no matter what! You're an evil monster, and evil will not prevail!"
:—God Ginrai

Notes
Lost in translation
Among the changes made by the Omni Productions dub:
*During the opening dialog, the announcer makes the cryptic statement that something strange is happening to BlackZarak.
*Wilder's cries of "God damn it!" are toned down to him shouting "WHY?!" at the top of his lungs.
*The Matterhorn is renamed "Mandoa".
*Rather than being sure that the other Godmasters are buried under the rockslide he finds, God Ginrai lands and wonder out loud if they're buried under there.
*Most of King Poseidon's dialogue is gone, replaced by menacing noises.
*Hawk tells Minerva to run, rather than hold on. Which just makes it confusing when a few seconds later she grabs on to Hawk.
*"Mach X Flight" becomes "Invisible Wings".
*Sixknight's statement that it was good to have faced Ginrai is replaced by him taunting BlackZarak.

Animation or technical errors
*Right after Overlord grabs BlackZarak's arm to stop him hitting the brothers, Hydra disappears.
*In the Omni Productions dub, MegaZarak's last line of "Those against me d-" is oddly cut off.

Continuity errors
*Where have Cancer, Clouder, Wilder and Bullhorn's Transtectors gone? They were brought to life in the previous episode, and they're nowhere to be found in this one.

Continuity notes
*The Decepticons headed for Europe in the previous episode.
*Sixknight reappears after another of his long absences. He was last seen in "Destroy Godbomber!!".
*Having doubted Devil Z since "Crisis! The Day of Human Extinction", Overlord at last stands up to his commander in this episode.

Miscellaneous trivia
*Now, you didn't really think that "The True Form of Devil Z" would actually show you the true form of Devil Z, did you? You big silly, you!
