There is some abiguity as to whether or not that whole "separate dude" thing is actually real, Walky. It's something I've been meaning to ask Doug/Ichikawa about for a while, actually.
ALSO, "e-hobby" is not a fiction. It's not a story. All it has is bios. IF e-hobby Sideswipe is in fact a nrew dude, then it goes on a new dude's page. If it's not, then the overview of that bio goes in the TOY section when the e-hobby release is discussed.

That's the first I've heard of this theory, Care to eleaberate? I thought NY Lambor represented the new body that they put his spark into after he died(offscreen) in the movie?

What e-Hobby bio? the ones he and red Alert had ages ago? they reprented, IIRC, nto reissues but specifically later incarnations of the character, but they were the same characters. TFPulp had translations and their different cardart back in the day. -[[User:Derik|Derik]]

I am highly skeptical of [http://transformers.wikia.com/index.php?title=Sideswipe_%28G1%29&curid=2165&diff=75573&oldid=68792 this revision]. Aren't there other Japanese names that are basically just the altmode name? Why would this one have a special double meaning? Also, wouldn't Lambor and Rambo have different "o" sounds, making them not the same word after all? :In Japanese, "bo" is "bo". The character is always pronounced the same. The only difference between Lambor and Rambo is the "ru" at the end of Lambor. Ligier/Mirage is the only other one with a reference to his car mode. Besides, considering how reflective it is of Sideswipe's character (at least the reckless part), I don't see why it couldn't get a mention. There's no confirmation on the Nine Great Demon Generals' name being a word pun yet it's included in the article. {{unsigned|70.55.211.39}}

::How about the fact that the film ''First Blood'' was released in Japan in December of 1982, less than two years before this name would have been applied to the toy? Assuming 70.55.211.39 is correct that Rambo is now a "Japanese word", would it have been that soon after the movie? Was Rambo an instant and widespread pop culture phenomenon in Japan? I would be alright with a trivia notice saying that the names are pronounced very similarly, and that this ''may'' not be coincidence, but I think actually attributing any intent is a huge stretch. :::Rambo has always been a Japanese word. ''First Blood'' was released in Japan under the name ''Rambo'' because it was noticed the character's last name was the same as their word for violence. The kanji for it is 乱暴, look it up. Anyway, I did a revision, leaving it up to speculation. Also linked to the Nine Great Demon Generals and the Autorooper to point out it wouldn't be a standalone case of Takara doing a word pun like that... I think it's interesting enough to go in the trivia, mostly because it fits the character's personality, if it was attributed to a guy like Wheeljack then I wouldn't have bothered but Sideswipe as far as his original tech specs go do portray him as violent and reckless character. There is a reckless edge to Sideswipe's tactics. He makes rash decisions that may endanger him, all in the name of possible victory. Cheating is also not out of the question. When everything is on the line, for Sideswipe, nothing is out of the question. However, Sideswipe is not without his humor. Sideswipe was part of the initial crew of Autobots aboard the Ark when it crash-landed on Earth four million years ago. He awakened along with his fellow Transformers in 1984, with both he and brother being reformatted into Lamborghini sports cars. Sideswipe loaned Optimus Prime the use of his rocket pack when the Decepticons nearly escaped from Earth with a starship full of Energon.

Sideswipe and Sunstreaker often operated together. When antimatter-fueled Decepticons attacked the Ark on one occasion, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker took to the air to battle with the incoming seeker jets, in a rambunctious, if ultimately ineffective, display of "jet judo."

When investigating tremors that were shaking the [[Ark|Autobot base]], [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]]'s scanner found some interesting objects inside a rock wall. Sideswipe, using his piston-like arms, helped [[Brawn (G1)|Brawn]] removed the rock wall and found a cave full of dinosaur bones, the discovery of which would lead to the development of the [[Dinobots]].

Unicron abducted these newly-returned Transformers, in addition to many others from different times and universes, to start a final confrontation against Primus. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker were rebuilt into new forms, corrupted by Unicron's influence, and set against one another in the [[Cauldron]]. Before either brother could land a killing blow, however, the fight was broken up by [[Optimus Primal]]. Sideswipe then fought his way out of Unicron alongside many other Transformers rescued by Primal and returned to Cybertron.

Sideswipe was part of Operation Liberation in 1998, a joint human-Autobot effort to defeat the Earth bounded Decepticons. At the end it was a success, and the captured Decepticons along with the Autobots and a human crew departed Earth en route to Cybertron in the [[Ark II]]. The ship, however, was sabotaged and crashed into Earth.

A few years later Megatron and other Transformers, including Autobots, were seen causing havoc. It was discovered that Lazarus, a scientist who participated in the Ark II project, was responsible for the sabotage of the Ark II and the resurrection of several Transformers under his control via technological tampering.

The Army contacted [[Spike Witwicky]] to ask him if he could do something to help them reactivate Optimus Prime, whom they had recovered locked in a state of stasis. Spike managed to reactivate Optimus with a portion of the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]] that Optimus had given him prior the ill-fated journey of the Ark II. Optimus subsequently went to the Arctic and used the Matrix to reactivate several Transformers, including Sideswipe.

Sideswipe accepted the new task at hand and fought up until the last battle against Megatron and his Decepticons in San Francisco.

Sideswipe remained on Earth as part of Jazz's unit, while Optimus Prime returned to Shockwave's united Cybertron.
