'''Lockdown''' is a bounty hunter by choice and a Decepticon by necessity more than anything else. He's got no real loyalty towards [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]], but the Decepticons always pay on time and allow him access to the systems upgrades he craves. Besides that, he's really such a nasty piece of work that it's just easier for him to be a 'Con than not. That, and the [[Cybertron Elite Guard|Elite Guard]] don't nearly pay as much as the Decepticons. Driven by the chase, he'll hunt down any prey you like... for a price.

Aside from his fees, Lockdown likes to collect trophies from his Autobot victims, and he has displayed a number of parts that appear to be stolen. (His hook and chainsaw arms appear to be stolen as well, since they don't match his color scheme.) The [[Autobot]]s consider his actions appalling, while [[Lugnut]] views his mercenary ways an insult to the Decepticon cause, but Lockdown does not care. As long as Megatron and the Decepticon leadership will give him his upgrades, Lockdown will get the job done.
During the war, Lockdown worked as a bounty hunter. One of his jobs was to bring an [[Arcee (Animated)|intelligence officer]] who carried vital information in for questioning. He encountered [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]], broke off one of the Autobot's forehead chevrons and stole his [[EMP]] generator, turning the healing tool into a weapon. During said encounter, Lockdown's right arm was destroyed when he launched it at Ratchet, causing him to replace it with a decidedly more menacing one (namely, the hook seen above). He was also indirectly responsible for Arcee losing her memory.

On modern-day Earth, Lockdown was hired by [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] to bring in the Autobot presumed responsible for [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]'s death, [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]]. He captured Prime using the EMP generator and, impressed by Prime's own personal modifications, stole his axe and forcibly removed Optimus's grapplers, something that traumatised him later on. When the Autobots came to rescue Prime, Lockdown made short work of [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]]. [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]], on the other hand, proved a bigger challenge, but Lockdown came out on top (after having a tire mark smudged on his face). He was about to leave in his ship with his new trophies, when Ratchet, who had been suffering from war flashbacks, came on the scene and soundly thrashed him, partially because the stolen EMP generator didn't work on Ratchet himself. Pinning Lockdown, Ratchet painfully removed both Prime's grapplers and his own EMP generator. Lockdown was forced to watch as Ratchet crippled his ship and escaped with a weakened Optimus. {{storylink|The Thrill of the Hunt}}

After arriving on the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], Blitzwing remarked that the Decepticons hadn't heard anything from Lockdown since he contacted Blitzwing. Mentioning Lockdown's name made [[Lugnut]] get a little bent out of shape. {{storylink|Lost and Found (Animated episode)|Lost and Found}}
[[Image:AFistfulofEnergon-Lockdowninponcho.jpg|right|thumb|Space banditos? Never heard of them.]]As it turns out, Lockdown survived the crash and his ship was repaired. Learning of a large bounty on [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]], Lockdown headed back to Earth, expecting a serious fight to take him down. It turned out that Prowl managed to take down Starscream for him. During a fight over the Decepticon, they realized that Starscream escaped. Heading to Earth on his ship, he discovered Prowl had stowed away. Prowl offered to help Lockdown, and the bounty hunter offered a suit of armor to assist.

Upon landing on Earth, Lockdown and Prowl discovered Starscream (both purple and more cowardly than usual) and Prowl managed to take him down. Lockdown contacted Megatron to set up a meet, but Prowl wanted to turn him over to the Elite Guard. Lockdown subdued Prowl and took Starscream. At the warehouse, the Autobots arrived with ''another'' Starscream. Lockdown tried to take his leave, but Megatron commanded him to stay. Then the two Starscreams revealed that they were clones with bombs in their chests. Lockdown managed to get away in the chaos, then contacted Prowl with an offer of a partnership. Prowl rejected his offer, saying that all the mods were for weak processors, and warned Lockdown never to contact him again, or he'd turn him over to the Elite Guard. {{storylink|A Fistful of Energon}}

At some point after he left Earth, Lockdown traded information to [[Swindle (Animated)|Swindle]] in exchange for weapons.
:Lockdown transforms into an amalgam of a 1980s Corvette and a 1960s Cougar. He looks freaking terrifying. And he has a hook, essentially making him the "pirate" to Prowl's "ninja". The hook arm can be removed to reveal a normal arm under it; the hook can be attached to either arm. Due to his lanky build, he comes out a fair bit taller than most of his fellow Deluxe-class toys, towers over many Voyagers and even stands eye-to-eye with some Ultras (from series that had Ultras). However, online reviews note that Leader Class Megatron is taller, with Lockdown's head meeting his chin.
==Trivia==
* According to [[Derrick Wyatt]]'s blog, his original concept for Lockdown was as a freakish Frankenstein-like monster. It was altered to better fit Lockdown's more business-like nature. [http://derrickjwyatt.blogspot.com/2008/05/evolution-of-lockdown.html]
* Lockdown's final model, itself, is ''"reminiscent of skull like head and an undertaker's tux"'' (sic)... hey, he even has coat-tails! * Meanwhile, Wyatt has explicitly said that Lockdown is '''not''' based on [[Death's Head]].
* The [[character model|cartoon model]] for Lockdown shows an amusing [[homage]] to the older [[toy]]s. Instead of an ordinary Decepticon symbol, his chest carries what appears to be a [[rubsign]].
* His toy's vehicle mode is adorable yet terrifying. Like if [[Wikipedia:Cars_%28film%29|Cars]] had had a serial-killer character.
* Lockdown is the only Transformer who landed on Earth to retain his Cybertronian [[alternate mode|alt-mode]].
* Despite having lost the EMP generator, Lockdown retains the external engine it comprises in his vehicle mode, as seen in "[[A Fistful of Energon]]". Perhaps he found a substitute or a replacement?
* The interior of Lockdown's vehicle mode sports a chain-steering wheel and a skull on the gear stick. Now that's hardcore.
* In episode "[[A Fistful of Energon]]" he mentioned something about a spark-to-spark to Prowl. Perhaps he has feelings?
* On both his toy and in most character models, Lockdown has a Decepticon insignia, on the show he instead has something that looks like a [[Rubsign]]. On modern-day Earth, Lockdown was hired by [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] to bring in the Autobot presumed responsible for [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]'s death, [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]]. He captured Prime using the EMP generator and, impressed by Prime's own personal modifications, stole his axe and forcibly removed Optimus's grapplers, something that traumatised him later on. When the Autobots came to rescue Prime, Lockdown made short work of [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]]. [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]], on the other hand, proved a bigger challenge, but Lockdown came out on top (after having a tire mark smudged on his face). He was about to leave in his ship with his new trophies, when Ratchet, who had been suffering from war flashbacks, came on the scene and soundly thrashed him, partially because the stolen EMP generator didn't work on Ratchet himself. Pinning Lockdown, Ratchet painfully removed both Prime's grapplers and his own EMP generator. Lockdown was forced to watch as Ratchet crippled his ship and escaped with a weakened Optimus. {{storylink|The Thrill of the Hunt}}

After arriving on the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], Blitzwing remarked that the Decepticons hadn't heard anything from Lockdown since he contacted Blitzwing. Mentioning Lockdown's name made [[Lugnut]] get a little bent out of shape. {{storylink|Lost and Found (Animated episode)|Lost and Found}}
[[Image:AFistfulofEnergon-Lockdownwithhelmet.jpg|left|thumb|250px|Why, Yes Prowl, I have all this Samurai armor that not only fits you and matches your color scheme, but can also turn into a sidecar that attaches to your vehicle mode!]]

Upon landing on Earth, Lockdown and Prowl discovered Starscream (both purple and more cowardly than usual) and Prowl managed to take him down. Lockdown contacted Megatron to set up a meet, but Prowl wanted to turn him over to the Elite Guard. Lockdown subdued Prowl and took Starscream. At the warehouse, the Autobots arrived with ''another'' Starscream. Lockdown tried to take his leave, but Megatron commanded him to stay. Then the two Starscreams revealed that they were clones with bombs in their chests. Lockdown managed to get away in the chaos, then contacted Prowl with an offer of a partnership. Prowl rejected his offer, saying that all the mods were for weak processors, and warned Lockdown never to contact him again, or he'd turn him over to the Elite Guard. {{storylink|A Fistful of Energon}}

:The EMP generator can be attached to Ratchet. There is currently much rejoicing. But it cannot be attached to Prowl. There is currently much complaining.
==Trivia==
[https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=21975298&postID=2803441425110630377&isPopup=true]
* On both his toy and in most character models, Lockdown has a Decepticon insignia, on the show he instead has something that looks like a [[Rubsign]]. In fact, if Megatron didn't pay better than the Elite Guard, he wouldn't even ''be'' a Decepticon.<div id="wikia-credits"><br /><br /><small>From [http://transformers.wikia.com Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki], a [http://www.wikia.com Wikia] wiki.</small></div>

[[Image:Clock hideout.jpg|left|thumb|250px|"He did worse than that! He made me '''late!'''"]]
Slo-Mo first appeared on the scene as a [[Swindle (Animated)|mysterious benefactor]] who helped out [[Angry Archer|several]] [[Professor Princess|of Detroit's]] [[Nanosec|B-List villains]], saving them from capture by the Autobots with an Allspark-empowered timepiece. Gathering these three "also-rans" at her former place of employment, she introduced herself. Formerly a production line worker, she one day discovered what would prove to be an AllSpark fragment mixed into the quartz crystals she fitted into clocks. When it was installed in a clock-like housing, she found it slowed down all electronic and mechanical systems, from automobiles to automatons to Autobots. She realized this was a chance to make it big, she set out on a career in crime, but she also had the sense to recognize she was an amateur at the game, so she proposed that the gathered crooks could restyle themselves as a crime syndicate. She also revealed that it was her AllSpark-powered timepiece that had undone Nino Sexton's premature aging, and this favor seemed to kindle a potential relationship between the two.

The as-yet-unnamed syndicate's first bust quickly went south on them, however, when they became cornered not only by the Autobot [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] (who was quickly defeated by Slo-Mo's timepiece) but also by the flesh-and-blood officers of the DPD. Fortunately, an anonymous caller on her watch-phone quickly offered them the services of a nearby [[Swindle (Animated)|Sports Utility Vehicle]] as a getaway car, complete with 4-wheel-drive, inbuilt weaponry, and comfortable seating for four (complete with a booster seat for Professor Princess). Speeding away, she was nonetheless unimpressed by their patron's attempting to undermine her authority and didn't feel indebted to him for just a truck. After finding out that it was a truck ''with a ridiculously large turret'', she was far more tractable. Now liking what the man was saying, her eyes lit up with dollar signs as their benefactor described the ultimate heist.

Unfortunately, once all the items were gathered, her sugar daddy mentioned one niggling detail: The final part of the device they were going to sell was the very source of her superpowers. The deal soured, forcing the unseen voice to reveal that he ''was'' their getaway car. Slo-Mo was a quick thinker, realizing she could blast him with her timepiece. Unfortunately, the Decepticon was a quicker thinker, using first a handy-dandy forcefield, and subsequently an even handier, dandier tractor beam to steal the timepiece. Slo-Mo was out of luck. Gathering her similarly depowered cartel members, she teamed up with the [[Sari Sumdac|little girl with the pigtails]] to haul the yellow Autobot to Sumdac Tower. It was all just a ploy to get her timepiece back, though, and she double-crossed the white hats as soon as she was able. Sadly, she was unable to recognize the effects of her own timepiece on the getaway car, and thus was hauled away by the black and white. {{storylink|SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy}}
The '''Transformers Animated''' toy line merges the more expressive design style of the [[Transformers Animated|cartoon]] with extremely poseable robot forms (to a degree which seemed pleasantly surprising even to [[Hasbro]]). Unlike the [[franchise]]s immediately before it, there is no overarching, line-wide [[gimmick]] (such as [[Mini-Con]]s or [[Cyber Planet Key]]s). Rather, transforming ''is'' the gimmick, and the toys have other special features unique and appropriate to the character (such as [[Blitzwing (Animated)|triple-changing]] or [[Ratchet (Animated)|interchangeable tools]]). While the designs originated with Hasbro and the [[Cartoon Network]] team, [[TakaraTomy]] stepped up to the plate to engineer the toys. The line debuted on July 1, 2007, at Hasbro's Future Products panel at [[BotCon 2007|BotCon]].

Hasbro has, citing the strength of the [[Transformers (2007)|movie]] toyline, [[Ruined FOREVER|postponed]] the release of the Animated toyline to June 22, 2008 in the US. Canada, however, saw a mass realease in early May 2008. However, the toys are now availible ahead of schedule in the U.S.
Despite his humble "Bot Next Door" persona, he performs his job with a dedicated seriousness. He transforms into a red truck cab that can be fitted with many kinds of "trailer" attachments (most notably one that makes him look like a fire engine) and wields a kick-ass, rocket-powered, extendable battle axe, as well as wrist-mounted grappler cables.

[[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]] sneers at Optimus's lowly repair job. More than anything, Prime wishes to be a hero. He's got the speeches, he's got the moves...but what is he missing?
Maybe [[Stan Bush|The Touch]]?

But since coming to Earth, Optimus has learned the truth about heroism. It's not about glory and destiny, it's about doing the right thing and going to your limit and beyond. Ratchet, for all his cynicism, knows that Prime is a hero, and after seeing him in action, [[Ultra Magnus (Animated)|Ultra Magnus]] himself knows that Optimus has the qualities of a true leader.
On a mission, Optimus and [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Elita-1]] accompanied [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel]] to a forbidden organic planet in search of a lost [[Decepticon]] ship rumored to be rich in [[Energon]]. After finding the planet to be infested with giant spiders, the trio finally decided to leave, but their retreat was not easy. Though Optimus and Elita found the Decepticon ship and its coveted [[energon cube]]s, they were forced to escape when spiders surrounded them. However, Elita was left behind, presumed destroyed in an energon explosion. Sentinel was furious and blamed Optimus for her death. {{storylink|Along Came a Spider}}

{{note|It's not clear if either Optimus or Sentinel had attained the [[Prime (rank)|rank of Prime]] during the above events, as neither is addressed as such.}}

At some point Optimus was in the Elite Guard, but lost his position due an incident that Sentinel had something to do with (the details are unknown at the moment), and eventually found himself leading a small space bridge repair crew a thousand stellar cycles later, though he still had his [[Prime (rank)| rank]]. Prime and his crew came across the [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]] while repairing a [[Space Bridge]] and brought the artifact aboard their ship. During transport, they were discovered by the [[Decepticons]], and [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] came after them. He proved too strong to take head on (in spite of [[Starscream (Animated)|his subordinate]] planting a bomb on his chassis), but when the [[Autobot ship (Animated)|Autobots' ship]] neared [[Earth]], Prime knocked Megatron overboard. The Autobots stayed in stasis for the next 50 years until they were accidentally awakened by an apparent intruder. Optimus and the Autobots took on Earth vehicles as alternate modes in an attempt to assimilate with what they believed to be the local dominant culture. Prime and his team were able to dispatch a bio-mechanical insectoid that was attacking Detroit. They were hailed as heroes for it.

[[Image:Sariprime.jpg|right|thumb|120px|Sorry, Prime, this is just another one of those things you were never meant to know...]]

Over the next several weeks, the Autobots got to learn human culture and and customs, doing their best to prevent disasters and save lives. Eventually, Starscream came for the AllSpark, and Optimus found that the schemer could pack quite a punch. The Autobot officer was still able to keep Starscream from getting the artifact, though at the cost of his life. However, he was quickly revived by [[Sari Sumdac]] and her AllSpark-influenced key. Later, the Autobots helped rebuild parts of Detroit that were destroyed in their battle with Starscream. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

Unfortunately for Optimus, he had gained a reputation outside of Earth's atmosphere&mdash;not as a hero, but as the slayer of Megatron. The Decepticon [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] placed a large bounty on his head, and pretty soon, [[Lockdown]] came to collect. He captured Prime and stole his axe and grapplers. Fortunately, Ratchet saved him, finally getting the old bot to open up more. {{storylink|The Thrill of the Hunt}}

[[Image:TFA_ep9_Optimus_and_Blackarachnia_rooftop.jpg|left|thumb|200px|Optimus Prime is all left feet, but that's still not as many as Blackarachnia.]]During the Autobots' first [[Halloween]] on Earth, the Decepticon [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Blackarachnia]] showed up and kidnapped Sari. When Optimus Prime tried to fight her, she dodged all his moves, as she had trained with him. Prime was shocked to learn that Blackarachnia was his old Autobot Academy classmate Elita-1, who hadn't died but been mutated while fighting off the giant arachnids those many years ago. Blackarachnia tried to use Sari's AllSpark key to remove the organic aspects from her biology, but the key began to drain the life from everything organic around and nearly killed Blackarachnia herself. Prime removed the key, saving Blackarachnia and the organics. Still calling her Elita, Prime tried to convince her to return to the Autobots so they could try and help her. She repaid that kindness by injecting him with venom and telling him that she would never trust him again. Prime was left to reflect on the friend he'd failed not once, but twice. {{storylink|Along Came a Spider}}

When Decepticon energy signals were detected near the city, the Autobots quickly realized that their options were limited. Bulkhead mentioned that the [[Dinobot (Animated)|Dinobot]]s might help, forcing [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] to reveal how the two moved them to [[Dinobot Island (Animated)|Dinobot Island]]. Prime's reaction was...displeased, to say the least. Ranting that all he had to command were insubordiante malfunctions, Prime also concluded that the Key was no longer safe with Sari, and he ordered Ratchet to take it from her. As Sari ran off crying, Bumblebee mouthed off that their situation was an indication that Prime was unfit for command.

Heading to Dinobot Island, Prime did not get off to a good start with [[Grimlock (Animated)|Grimlock]], mostly because Grimlock considered him lunch. After Prowl smoothed things over, Prime tried to convince them to help the Autobots fight the Decepticons, but Grimlock was uninterested. Receiving word from Ratchet that the Key had been stolen, Prime ordered Ratchet to guard the AllSpark while the Autobots headed back for the mainland. Prime himself also began to wonder if he was fit for command, seeing as all his decisions had blown up in his face. When Bumblebee contacted the Autobots to inform them that Starscream was at [[Sumdac Tower]], he refused Prime's order to hold back and went to attack the Decepticon on his own. Prime dryly noted that the day just kept getting better and better.

Then everything pretty much went to [[Pit|hell]] when Megatron burst out of Sumdac Tower, to the shock and horror of just about everyone. {{storylink|Megatron Rising - Part I}}

Quickly regaining their composure, the Autobots attacked. Megatron beat the [[slag (slang)|slag]] out of them. Though Optimus fared slightly better, Megatron still brought him down fairly quickly. They were only able to escape when Megatron punished Starscream for his betrayal. Taking refuge within [[Sumdac Tower]], Professor Sumdac explained his role in Megatron's revival and helped repair the Autobots with residual key energy. After Bumblebee called Prime to answer for his earlier assessment of them, Prime admitted he was wrong and asked them for forgiveness. When Ratchet and Sari showed up with the Autobots' ship, the Autobots took flight, hoping to lure the Decepticons away from Earth to prevent human casualties. Unfortunately, the Decepticons shot down the vessel and caused it to crash on Dinobot Island.

As the Autobots took on the Decepticons, Optimus faced down Megatron, which went as well as the first time. When Megatron got into the Autobots' ship, he took the AllSpark and placed the powerful artifact within him, using it as a weapon against Prime. However, Megatron had dropped the key, and Sari threw it to Prime. The Autobot officer used the key to send a surge of energy through the AllSpark, causing it to disperse while still in Megatron. With the threat passed, Prime apologized to Sari and returned the key, saying it was too important to be trusted with an Autobot. {{storylink|Megatron Rising - Part II}}

After the battle with the Decepticons, the [[Cybertron Elite Guard]] arrived to take the AllSpark back to Cybertron. Optimus explained that the AllSpark had been dispersed and that the Decepticons had been defeated. Sentinel Prime accused Optimus of lying and took every chance he could to belittle his former friend, but [[Ultra Magnus (Animated)|Ultra Magnus]] decided to investigate their claims. Optimus took them to Dinobot Island, but the Autobots did not make a good impression on the Dinobots. Before they could investigate, they received a message from Ratchet, saying that police drones had gone haywire at a Sumdac Systems manufacturing plant. Optimus managed to get Sari inside and shut off the assembly line, but the key was stuck in the console. Before Optimus could help, Sentinel pushed him aside and promised to see Optimus charged for high treason. Tired of Sentinel's [[slag (slang)|slag]], Optimus finally stuck up for himself and told Sentinel where to shove it, destroying the console the key was stuck in and revealing an AllSpark fragment. Ultra Magnus accepted the shard as proof of Optimus Prime's claims. Though Sentinel still refused to believe him, Magnus said that Optimus Prime displayed many qualities that Sentinel himself could use. {{storylink|The Elite Guard}}

[[Image:Returnofheadmaster_optimuslaughs.jpg|thumb|right|Ha ''Ha!'' Decapitation.]]
When Sentinel and Optimus were at a press conference with [[Mayor Edsel]], they received a call about a Decepticon sighting in old Detroit. After Sentinel mangled the roads en route, he told Optimus to split up and search on his own. Hours later, Optimus received a communication to from Sentinel to dismiss the police and come to Sentinel's location alone—and not to laugh when he got there. What Optimus found was Sentinel Prime's severed head, with his [[structure|body]] having been stolen by the [[Headmaster (Animated)|Headmaster]]. He promised to help Sentinel find his body without letting Ultra Magnus or the other Autobots know, but not before taking a moment or two to enjoy the situation.

Heading for Sumdac Tower, Optimus confronted [[Porter C. Powell]], who denied knowing where Masterson was and told him the Autobots were no longer welcome at the facility. Optimus left, but immediately tapped in on Powell and Masterson's phone conversation, letting Optimus track Masterson to the docks. After encountering mini-Headmasters in the form of [[Tutor Bot]] and [[Sparkplug (Animated)|Sparkplug]], Optimus was able to get aboard the ship before it sailed away. Finding the Headmaster with Sentinel Prime's body, Optimus Prime proceeded to beat the living slag out of his attacker, much to Sentinel's discomfort. Finally defeating the mad scientist, Optimus reattached Sentinel's head to his body, but Masterson walked away due to legal technicalities. When Ultra Magnus asked them about it the next day, Optimus covered for Sentinel, saying that Sentinel had volunteered to use himself as bait to capture Masterson, and Magnus praised their bravery. In an awkward moment, Sentinel thanked Optimus for all he'd done, and the two shook hands amicably. {{storylink|The Return of the Headmaster}}

[[Image:Sentinel vs Optimus, with Jazz in the middle.jpg|left|thumb|200px|Jay Leno VS. Bruce Campbell, Battle of chins.]]When word of Decepticon attacks came after learning that Megatron was still alive, Ultra Magnus decided that Optimus and his Autobots would be needed elsewhere repairing damaged space bridges. The Elite Guard also wanted Optimus to...leave out that whole destruction of the AllSpark and Megatron's survival thing for the time being. When they detected an AllSpark shard energy signature in a human train, the Elite Guard went to retrieve it. Detecting Starscream, Optimus realized it was a trap and was forced to place stasis cuffs on Sentinel Prime to leave the Elite Guard's ship. Meeting up with his crew, he helped them remove the shard and save the humans. Magnus and Sentinel, who by now had broken out of his cuffs, were about to rip Optimus a new one for insubordination, assault, and the lack of evidence over the Decepticons{{m-}}at which point Starscream's body crashed mere meters away from them, having been offlined by Megatron (again). When Starscream knocked out Ultra Magnus, Optimus took command (much to Sentinel's displeasure). He managed to place the stasis-cuffs on Starscream, and Ultra Magnus decided that Optimus Prime and his team would be allowed to stay on Earth, locate the remaining AllSpark shards, and arrest the remaining Decepticons. {{storylink|Mission Accomplished}}

:Based on his pre-Earth Cybertronian look, the first version of ''Animated'' Optimus Prime transforms into a half-track Cybertronic truck loosely based on the [http://www.fleetwatch.co.za/magazines/Feb2005/78-WW-Feb05.htm Mitsubishi Fuso Hybrid concept truck]. As a half-track, instead of rear wheels, he has molded, caterpillar-linked tracks with smaller wheels inside for rolling along smooth surfaces. Prime's axe weapon is stored by partially folding the axe at the grey hinge near the handle peg, then placing the handle peg in a hole on the back of the cab (actually his two fists' holes, thus helping them hold it in position) with the blade facing down and a grey peg facing up, acting as a "fifth wheel" (known as a trailer hitch among fans), should one find a suitable trailer to attach onto it.

:He has a superb range of articulation, as is the standard with ''Animated'' toys, due to the extensive use of ball joints and universal hinge joints. As stated above, the hitch assembly becomes his axe, which can be wielded with one blade (for the rocket-boosted look) or have the single blade split to form a double-bladed axe. The truck roof can be mounted on his left arm as a shield or spread apart and attached to the axe to become giant energon blades.
* Optimus was killed off after only [[Transform and Roll Out!|one episode]] (three if you want to get technical) ''and'' revived 1 minute and 15 seconds later. That's gotta [[Optimus Prime (G1)|be]] [[Optimus Primal|a]] [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|new]] [[The many deaths of Optimus Prime|record]].
* The placement of Optimus' Cybertronian vehicle mode's front wheels is similar in location to those on [[Optimus Prime (G1)#Dreamwave comics continuity|Optronix]].
* The twin cylinder shaped protrusions connected to Optimus' small antennae are inspired by the head design of the [[Transformers (2007)|2007 movie]] rendition of [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], as opposed to the [[Optimus Prime (G1)|traditional]] single cylinder.
* While Sentinel Prime does a lot of down talking to Optimus Prime, they are, in fact, the same rank.
* Prime's axe resembles the Autobot symbol, if you flip the blade so that it's facing upwards.
* Despite nominally being a fire truck, Prime's alt mode features a detachable cab that can mount a number of different trailers, such as [[Headmaster (episode)|a lookalike of G1 Optimus' trailer]] and a [[The Elite Guard|dump truck]]. Presumably, this would make his alt mode not a fire truck, but a semi-truck ''outfitted'' as a fire truck.......

Hasbro has, citing the strength of the [[Transformers (2007)|movie]] toyline, [[Ruined FOREVER|postponed]] the release of the Animated toyline to June 2008 in the US. Canada, however, saw a mass realease in early May 2008.

:''Ultra Magnus is an [[Autobot]] in the [[Transformers Animated]] [[continuity family]].''

[[Image:UltraLightning.jpg|right|thumb|300px|He can deal with you.]]
'''Ultra Magnus''' is [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime's]] superior officer. He is also the [[Supreme Commander]] of the Autobots and the leader of the [[Cybertron Elite Guard]]. Ultra Magnus is everything you could hope for in a leader; fair, decisive, powerful and not afraid to get his hands dirty. While he is not slow in delivering criticism, he's as willing to dole out praise where it's deserved. Originally, he seems to have had a low opinion of Optimus Prime, but after seeing the young leader in action, he recognizes accomplishment when he sees it.

His earth altmode is an 8-wheeled [[Wikipedia:Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck|Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck]].

He has a hammer the size of a lamp post. A handy weapon, you say? It can also call stormclouds and shoot lightning. Small wonder they call him "Ultra."

Like [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]], he is a veteran of the [[Great War]].

:''Voice actor:'' [[Jeff Glen Bennett]] (English), [[Garald Paradies]] (German)

During the Great War, an Autobot [[Arcee (Animated)|intelligence agent]] was in danger of falling into [[Decepticon]] hands. Ultra Magnus sent Ratchet to recover her so the access codes she held in her databanks couldn't be used to deal a devastating blow to the Autobots. {{storylink|Thrill of the Hunt}}

Long after the end of the war, an Autobot Academy washout named Optimus Prime attempted to contact Magnus to report that 1) he and his maintenance ship crew had discovered the legendary [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]], and 2) they were now being pursued by Decepticons. Though nearly denied by [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]], Optimus Prime got patched through to Ultra Magnus to report on the discovery. Magnus still didn't believe the Decepticons would pose much of a threat, but agreed to dispatch some ships to escort Prime's ship, the ''[[Ark (Animated)|Ark]]''. He warned Prime not to pull any heroics, as it wasn't in Prime's programming. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

This, of course, would all go out the window once it was discovered that the Decepticons in pursuit were in [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]'s [[Nemesis (Animated)|flagship]], at which point he decided to deal with it.

[[Image:Eliteguardleaveshuttle.jpg|left|thumb|200px|thumb|Airport management, the FAA and the airlines. They're all cheats and liars. All right, lets get outta here.]]
Upon landing on [[Earth]], Magnus seemed to trust Sentinel Prime's judgment regarding the planet. This might well have been because the big blue lug wouldn't let anyone else get a word in edgewise. Hearing that the AllSpark had been supposedly destroyed, Magnus announced that he intended to take these charges very seriously and investigate. Adopting the vehicle mode suggested by his subordinate, the Autobot Supreme Commander proceeded to drive around downtown [[Detroit]] as a massive military vehicle. Smooth.

[[Image:Ani Ultra Magnus alt.jpg|right|150px|thumb|Not just heavy duty. ''Ultra'' heavy duty.]]
However, once he was led to [[Dinobot Island (Animated)|Dinobot Island]], he had to bail out that same subordinate, who had angered the [[Dinobot (Animated)|Dinobot]]s. After a distress call from [[Sumdac Systems]] was answered, he turned the tide in a battle against malfunctioning police droids. As Optimus Prime acted bravely, loyally, and with sound tactical judgment during that incident, he commended the wayward Academy bot, simultaneously putting Sentinel in his place, much to Sentinel's chagrin. Seeing evidence that the AllSpark indeed still existed scattered about the city, he settled in for the long haul. {{storylink|The Elite Guard}}
**''Accessories:'' Photon laser 1, Photon laser 2

[[Image:Rodimusmajor.jpg|200px|left|thumb|This is totally what cars will look like in the far-flung future of 2005.]]

: Hot Rod was one of the first toys designed specifically for the ''Transformers'' toyline, versus being an imported pre-existing toy. Designer [[Floro Dery]] created Hot Rod for the animated film and then the toy was created from his model sheet. (The model sheet would be altered further after the toy was completed.) Hot Rod transforms from a robot into a "futuristic" hot rod sportscar based on the Nissan Dome Zero racecar designed in 1978. His robot mode bears some resemblance to Bandai's [http://www.robot-japan.com/Gallery/Bandai/SOC/GX23/Zambot-soc.asp Super Robot Zanbo Ace] and may have been partially inspired by it. The toy comes with two rifles. There are two versions of this toy; initial releases have die-cast (unpainted) metal feet, while later shipments use black plastic.

: In 2000, [[Takara]] re-released the Hot Rod toy, having had to retro-[[retool]] it from the [[Targetmaster]] release. In 2002, [[Hasbro]] released it as part of the Toys 'R' Us [[exclusive]] [[Commemorative Series]] line as '''Rodimus Major'''. Both versions use die-cast metal for his feet.

: The same mold is used by [[Black Rodimus (G1)|Black Rodimus]].

: Rodimus Prime was designed in much the same way as Hot Rod. Rodimus transforms from a robot and battle platform into a futuristicky Winnebago camper. The toy comes with a "Photon eliminator" rifle and two blast shields to attach to either side of his battle platform's cannon. (The yellow spoiler was also to be removed and replaced during transformation.) Like Hot Rod, there are materials variations; initial releases have metal toes with rubber tires, while latter shipments replaced both with black plastic.

: The metal-toes/rubber-ties version of the toy saw re-release in both Japan and the US in 2004.

: This mold was later redecoed as a lucky draw prize [[Primus]].

: Hot Rod was re-released with his new [[Nebulan]] [[Targetmaster]] partner [[Firebolt (G1)|Firebolt]] a year after the original release. The toy was [[retool]]ed to have larger pegholes in his fists and his engine block so the Targetmaster gun would fit. Latter versions of this toy retooled his lower legs to minimize the scraping of his thigh decals.

: Takara reissued Targetmaster Hot Rod in 2004 as sort of an "ultimate" version, with metal toes (the original versions all used plastic) and the two photon lasers from the non-Targetmaster version.
: ''[[Alternators]]'' Rodimus is an exclusive figure, released at the San Diego Comic-Con and Hasbro Toy Shop in July 2007. It is a repaint of Kiss Players Hot Rodimus, which itself is a retool of Alternators [[Mirage (G1)|Mirage]]. The figure uses the same head mold introduced in the Kiss Players figure, retaining the original's visor gimmick. The deco has been altered by changing the side striping from white to yellow, while the stripes over the hood, roof and trunk have been eliminated altogether, replaced by a Hot Rod-style flame graphic on the hood and front guards. Most of the Kiss Player deco remains in robot mode, including the yellow hands and flame graphics on the forearms, however the license plates (located at the knees in robot mode) have been changed to read "TOO HOT".

:Rodimus' weapons are the dual pistols/tonfa seen with both Mirage and Hot Rodimus, however his Kiss Player counterpart's fishing rod/eliminator and dumpling steamer weapons were not included in the Alternators release. They left [[Shaoshao Li|the girl]] out too.
==Trivia==

[[Image: Pinkrod.jpg|right|thumb|Gee, [[Maurice_LaMarche|Brain]], what do you want to do tonight?]]

* Before final production, the Hot Rod toy was cast in a pinker plastic similar to the color of his animation model. For unknown reasons, this was changed between the first shot and final production stage to a decidedly less [[show-accuracy|show-accurate]] red before release, but the earlier version of the toy is visible in the original :1986 Hasbro toy catalogue, and the televised [[Sharkticon]] toy advert.

* Before final production, the Hot Rod toy's legs extended to reveal exposed knees. This was changed between the first shot and final production stage. The knees are still present, just blocked by an additional plastic tab that keeps the legs from fully extending.

* Miscommunication between Hasbro and Takara that neglected to mention the fact that Rodimus Prime was supposed to be the new Autobot leader and the upgrade of Hot Rod led to Takara creating the original prototype for the G1 Hot Rod toy in three times the final size, about as tall as [[Beast Machines]] [[Nightscream (BM)|Nightscream]]. When Hasbro corrected Takara about those details, Takara's designers were disappointed because they had to make Rodimus Prime's toy larger than Hot Rod's.<ref>[http://www.tfarchive.com/creative/showentry.php?s=522 Information provided by Fumihiko Akiyama, incorporated in essay about "Ten popular but incorrect rumors about Japanese Transformers" at TF Archive]</ref>

[[Image:TFGRodimus.jpg|right|150px|thumb|New Rodimus, not to be confused with New Coke.]]

* '''New Rodimus''' was the tentative name for an unused [[Rodimus Prime]] design revealed in the Japanese book [[Transformers Generations]]. Unlike his predecessors, he would have transformed into a fire engine. According to the caption in the book, New Rodimus would have come out after [[Star Convoy]], and his transformation would involve splitting at the waist.

:The idea for New Rodimus's transformation was eventually used by the [[Brave]] toy '''Duke Fire''', which is also a fire engine that splits at the waist in order to transform. Unlike New Rodimus, however, Duke Fire is also composed of an ambulance that becomes his arms.

:Some have speculated that New Rodimus was intended to become power-up parts to Star Convoy similar to how [[God Bomber]] and [[Victory Leo]] upgrade [[Ginrai]] and [[Star Saber]], respectively. This is supported by several pieces of evidence:
:* Generation One Transformers made by Takara generally do not split apart as part of their transformation, and when they do, it is usually for the purpose of combining with another robot.
:* Duke Fire, who inherited New Rodimus's transformation, combines with '''J-Decker''', a robot similar in general shape to Star Convoy, to form a larger robot called '''Fire J-Decker'''.
:* Fire J-Decker's chest piece (formed from Duke Fire's chest) successfully clips onto Star Convoy's chest (albeit not as securely as on J-Decker's chest).

* For a short time, Takara contemplated releasing a Hot Rodimus (Hot Rod) remold of the [[Alternators]] [[Mirage (G1)|Mirage]] toy as the next Binaltech release after [[Ginrai]], but that plan became obsolete when Takara decided to cancel the Binaltech line as a mass retail line altogether. Instead, Hot Rodimus also ended up as part of the [[Kiss Players]] line, after "Ginrai" had previously become Kiss Players [[Optimus Prime (G1) toys|Convoy]].

* One of the first concepts for Classics Rodimus was based around the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagani_Zonda Pagani Zonda] super car, before the [http://www.supercarnet.jp/File/File-Japan/File-Dome.htm Dome Zero] design was decided upon.
====''Timelines: Dawn of Future's Past''====
[[Image:Tigatrondawn.jpg|left|thumb|250px|He wasn't even supposed to be here today!]]

Tigatron was once known as Unit 2, part of the [[Maximal Command Security Force]] which protected the fragile peace that existed on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] in the centuries following the [[Pax Cybertronia]]. One of the Security Force's elite troops, Unit 2 was often put in charge of guarding important Maximal artifacts, a job that often required his amazing prowess at tracking. Despite his strong command of this environment, Unit 2 wondered if his destiny and place was elsewhere.

When the [[Golden Disk]] was stolen by a band of rogue [[Predacon (BW)|Predacons]], Unit 2 responded along with Unit 1, [[Nitrostreak]]. After Nitrostreak was incapacitated, Unit 2 attempted to follow the [[Darksyde]] by commandeering the ''[[Chromia 10]]'', pursuing, along with [[Airazor (BW)|its pilot]]. During the ensuing firefight, their ship was badly damaged. [[Optimus Primal]] had their [[Spark]]s remotely uploaded to blank protoforms in the [[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]'s cargohold, which saved their lives, but severely damaged their core mainframes. {{storylink|Dawn of Future's Past}}

{{note|This story is a [[retcon]], as Tigatron was originally treated as a newborn protoform in the ''Beast Wars'' animated series. Instead, here he is revealed to have been a Maximal who existed previously on Cybertron but ended up on the ''Axalon'' in a stasis pod, damaged to the point of not remembering any of his past.}}
{{-}}
====''Beast Wars''====
:''Voice Actor:'' [[Blu Mankuma]] (English), [[Kōichi Tōchika]] (Japanese), [[Armando Tiraboschi]] (Brazil)

Tigatron was born in the far frozen north, at first heavily damaged in his memory circuts and unable to remember friend from foe. In his beast mode, he patiently watched the Predacon and Maximal forces duke it out. When Megatron threatened the white tigers, and the Maximals conceded the fight, Tigatron knew his alliance.

His alliance established ,Tigatron became a background player, sending updates to the [[Axalon]] through communication towers and lending assistance to the Maximals when called upon. He was rarely seen inside the Maximal base, regarding artificial environments as "strange".

He and [[Cheetor]] held a strong sibling friendship. While Cheetor was youthful and eager, Tigatron was confident and wise. Cheetor called him "Big Cat" frequently.

[[Image:Airazortigatrontrigger.jpg|right|thumb|A cat and bird fall for each other. Love is truly blind.]]
Tigatron had an organic tiger friend named [[Snowstalker]], who may or may not have been the basis for his altmode. Some fans have speculated that the pair were [[Robot-fleshling romance|more than friends]], as the [[human|dumb stubbies]] say. Sadly, Snowstalker became one of the war's casualties, putting Tigatron in a funk for a short while, until he realized that doing nothing only meant more innocents would die.

Not much later, Tigatron was the first to detect a pulsing alien energy source. When [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] initiated a somewhat suspicious truce shortly afterwards, [[Optimus Primal]] ordered a covert infiltration of the Predacon base. [[Rattrap]] and [[Airazor]] made enough of a distraction to allow Tigatron inside the [[Darksyde|Predacon base]].

Inside, he hacked his way into the ship's computer systems and found out what got Megatron so worried - The [[Vok]] were coming back, and they weren't happy. Tigatron and the rest of the Maximals barely survived the subsequent attack of the alien [[Planet Buster]].

Tigatron and Airazor formed a very powerful relationship during this time. They both felt a strong connection to the prehistoric [[Earth]], and they frequently spent their time outside of the Maximal base in their beast forms instead. After the destruction of the Planet Buster sent dozens of stasis pods crashing to Earth, the pair set off on a voyage to find what had become of their Maximal comrades within the pods. Unfortunately, before they could discover any still-functional pods, they were abducted by a [[Metal Hunter|bizarre alien plant]].

The two were not seen again until much later, when their inert bodies were revealed to be the captives of the Vok, floating somewhere in a deep space nebula. The Vok removed their Sparks from their bodies, which were then fused into the awesomely powerful [[Vok]] emissary [[Tigerhawk]]. When the Vok influence was removed from Tigerhawk, the Sparks of Tigatron and Airazor likewise fused and entered the empty shell.

====''Universe: The Wreckers''====
=====''Primeval Dawn=====
[[Image:Primeval Tigatron.jpg|thumb|left|Hello, kitty!]]

Tigatron and Airazor's sparks were sent back to Earth by the [[Vok]] sometime after [[Tigerhawk]]'s destruction. Tigatron's spark took possesion of [[Ravage]]'s former body at the bottom of a lake. Joining Transmetal Airazor and a newly-created [[Primal Prime]], Tigatron battled [[Tarantulas]] and Ravage, who had also managed to escape death.

{{note|The ''Primeval Dawn'' story was never finished, so how Tigatron came to join the [[Wreckers]] (see below) is unknown.}}

=====''The Wreckers''=====
Tigatron, Primal Prime, and others arrived on Cybertron during Megatron's anti-biological reign. Various teams met with the [[Oracle]], which assigned them various tasks. When Optimus Primal objected, saying that with all these soldiers, Megatron could be defeated easily, the Oracle swept him away and cleansed his memory of the recent events. Tigatron vehemently objected to this treatment of his former commander. A set of coordinates was infused into Primal Prime's head by the Oracle. When arriving at an Autobot shuttle, which was to ferry the Wreckers to those coordinates, Tigatron felt that something was amiss. It was then that the Vehicon generals [[Spy Streak]], [[Scavenger_(BM)|Scavenger]], [[Quake]] and [[Blastcharge (BM)|Blastcharge]] attacked. Tigatron used his Nature's Fury attack, utterly destroying Quake. During the ride in the Autobot shuttle, Tigatron meditated, recovering from the battle. Upon arrived at their destination, he once again sensed that danger awaited the Wreckers...

Tigatron acted as a samurai warrior and his body reflected that. At one point, he is forced to do battle with the [[spark|spark]]-less body of his beloved [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]]. Not wishing to harm her, he willingly let the evil Airazor take the opportunity to decapitate him.

Just as evil Airazor began to strike, the spark of the real Airazor entered his body. In cyberspace, the two embrace each other and vow never to be apart again. Their sparks then merge, resulting in the all-powerful [[Tigerhawk]].
*'''Tigatron''' (Deluxe, 1996/1997)
**''Japanese ID number'': '''C-8'''
**''Accessories'': Tail-gun, water-shooting gun

: [[Hasbro]]'s original Tigatron is a [[redeco]] of the original [[Cheetor (BW)#Dx1|Cheetor]] toy in cream, silver, and green, transforming into a fairly generic big cat in shape. His robot-mode parts color layout is notably different from Cheetor's. In robot mode, he is armed with a rifle made out of his hindquarters and tail, along with a second "gut gun" formed out of his stomach. As with most early ''Beast Wars'' toys, he features a "[[mutant head]]" that replaces his face.

: Later, [[Takara]] released him in a more [[Show-accuracy|show-accurate]] bright white color with the copied-from-Cheetor color layouts. This version also has slight [[retool|mold tweak]] to keep the beast head pointed forward.

: This mold was also used to make [[Shadow Panther]]/[[Ravage#ShadowPanther|Tripredacus Agent]]. It was slated to be used for ''[[Universe]]'' [[Nightprowler]], but that toy set was canceled.

**''Accessories'': Tail-whip, left & right pistol barrels

: A [[BotCon 2001]] [[exclusive]], [[Transmetal]] Tigatron is a redeco of ''[[Beast Wars Metals]]'' [[Ravage#TM1|Ravage]], which is itself a [[retool]] of transmetal [[Cheetor (BW)#TM1|Cheetor]]. He transforms into a mechanical cat with flip-out thruster-wings. His robot-mode arms have spring-loaded flip-out blaster grips, which also have barrel extensions that can be clipped to his legs in beast mode. His tail separates to become a whip weapon, but he doesn't hold it very well. His chest panels open up to reveal a decal; he also came with an extra decal sheet to display other options within his chest, plus Maximal and [[Wreckers]] [[faction symbol]] decals for extra customization.

: The original version of this mold was slightly retooled to make ''[[Armada (franchise)|Armada]]'' [[Cheetor (Armada)#Toys|Cheetor]]. It was also used as the model for the non-toy character [[Cataclysm]].
Due to painted whiskers on his robot mode face that resemble a [[human]] mustache, Unit 2 is one of the few Transformers who feature [[facial hair]]. His rear engine assembly reveals a pair of spring-loaded flip-out guns when a [[Cyber Planet Key]]/[[Golden Disc Key]] is placed in it. This assembly becomes a hand-held blaster in robot mode. His side-pipes can also be removed and used as hand-weapons.

: The original version of this mold was also used to make ''Cybertron'' [[Swerve (Cybertron)#Toys|Swerve]], [[Movie (franchise)|movie-verse]] [[Clocker (Movie)|Clocker]], and was the basis for many non-toy members of the [[Maximal Command Security Force]].
==Trivia==
[[Image:BWRConcept07.jpg|left|thumb|Tigatron's control art. Note the extensive remolding from Cheetor that never happened.]]

[[Image:Tigertron.gif|right|thumb|125px|C-L-E-M-S-OH CRAP!]]

* The original concept art for Tigatron, shown in the "[[Beast Wars Reborn Golden Disc]]", shows that he was orginally intended to be a [[retool]]ing of the mold, rather than a simple redeco, changing his beast-mode head and a lot of his robot-mode parts (yet not the face), as well as giving him some kind of horrible tumor gun. Obviously, this didn't happen.

:* The Tigatron shown at Toy Fair in 1996 was cast in orange plastic instead of cream-colored, giving him a more "traditional" tiger look. The change to a white tiger has so far been unexplained.
{{-}}
*Tigatron's beast mode may well have been female. His template animal was female, and while wild felines have size differences between males and females Tigatron and Snowstalker were shown as being the same size; indeed, they were for all intents and purposes identical, such that [[Waspinator]] thought Snowstalker ''was'' Tigatron. (Though to be fair, Waspinator is not the brightest crayon in the box.)

* Tigatron also has the emasculating title of being beaten by Waspinator. Yes, [[Waspinator]].

* In the Japanese dub of ''Beast Wars'', for the sake of humor, Tigatron was played as a "samurai" ronin. Additionally, since [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]] was made male in the Japanese dub, "he" was presented as Tigatron's ward whom he looked to as a "brother" (hence the close bond)... but this did not prevent the "wacky" dubbing from broadly hinting at homosexuality between the two, especially after the events of "[[Other Visits (Part 1)|Other Visits]]".

* Tigatron's role in the ''Beast Wars'' cartoon was originally intended for [[Wolfang (Maximal)|Wolfang]].<ref>[[Ben Yee]], from a discussion with [[Bob Forward]], at [http://groups.google.com/group/alt.toys.transformers/browse_frm/thread/9c79c4226fc6dd28/30c3cdf158ea6e52?lnk=st&q=bob+forward+beast+wars+tigatron+wolfang&rnum=1#30c3cdf158ea6e52 alt.toys.transformers]. The change was also discussed in the commentary track on one of the ''Beast Wars'' DVD releases.</ref>
If mighty [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] were to command '''Lugnut''' to jump, the powerful Decepticon would be in the upper atmosphere long before his master could specify precisely how high. In Lugnut's optic, bold, heroic Megatron embodies the Decepticon cause, and his devotion is total. It's easy to misinterpret Lugnut’s blind zeal for a lack of overall processing power, but this is not the case. Even if it was, Lugnut would likely not care, for wise Megatron is brilliant enough for a thousand Decepticons.

Renowned throughout Cybertron as one of the most destructive fighters for the Decepticon cause, Lugnut has no time or patience for contemplation or strategy when he could just as easily level an entire Autobot battalion with a single explosive punch. He knows that his unparalleled strength, endurance, and seemingly limitless missile payload is enough to serve glorious, bold, fresh-scented MEGATRON! Autobots that know him know the only way to survive a fight with him is to stay clear of his path.
Lugnut was on board the [[Nemesis (Animated)|''Nemesis'']] with [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]], [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]], [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] and [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Blackarachnia]] when they discovered the All Spark. Doubting that it was near, Starscream insulted Megatron (out of the latter's presence, of course) as a fool who was chasing a ghost. Furious at the "traitor", Lugnut leapt in and roared about how Megatron would lead the Decepticons to a new age. Blackarachnia mocked him, asking if the speech was memorized or just hardwired into his one-track processor. Blitzwing indirectly defended Lugnut by insulting Blackarachnia, but soon burst into song, prompting all the Decepticons to argue until the entry of Megatron silenced them. Later, when it became clear the ''Nemesis'' was going to crash into an exploding space bridge, Lugnut showed un-stereotypical intelligence by fleeing in an escape pod. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}
[[Image:Lugnutfist.JPG|right|150px|thumb|"Tell me before you use Da Punch!"]]
After arriving on [[Earth]]'s [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], Lugnut and Blitzwing discovered the ''Nemesis'', near where Blitzwing mentioned that [[Lockdown]] had last reported. Heading to Earth, He interrogated a Crane with little success, Lugnut and Blitzwing had a battle with the Autobots. Lugnut managed to knock out the Autobots with his super-powerful punch (which Blitzwing says he told him "a thousand times" to warn him before using), which convinced Megatron that Lugnut could be trusted. He contacted Lugnut only, instructing him to find the [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]], which would be able to restore Megatron. Blitzwing thought that Lugnut had finally overheated his motherboard.

Heading for Lake Erie, the two Decepticons tracked down the ''[[Ark (Animated)|Ark]]''. Once they'd followed the Autobots below its surface, Lugnut showed remarkable intelligence by being reluctant to enter the underwater smokescreen [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] had created, although he still entered to follow Blitzwing. Obscured by kicked-up dust, his targeting systems still found a body in the haze. Pleased that his targeting sensors had not failed him, he swung{{m-}}and clocked Blitzwing. The Autobots seemed to have the upper hand when Lugnut again displayed unexpected smarts by transforming and using his jet thrusters to blow away the obscuring dirt. Unfortunately for him and Blitzwing, just as they were going destroy the Autobots, [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] and [[Sari Sumdac]] brought the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s weapon systems online. The two Decepticons were blasted to the shores of Lake Erie in several pieces, severing Megatron's radio link with Lugnut and thus leaving the poor lunk to believe that his master had forsaken him. The next morning, Starscream appeared and promised to repair them—if they swore loyalty to him. {{storylink|Lost and Found (Animated episode)|Lost and Found}}

{{spoiler|Megatron Rising - Part One}}

For reasons unknown, Lugnut agreed to Starscream's request. However, when Megatron contacted him, Lugnut immediately repledged himself to Megatron. The Decepticon leader told Lugnut to locate the [[Sari Sumdac's key|key]] and bring it to him. Taking it from [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]], Lugnut blabbed the whole Decepticon thing to [[Isaac Sumdac]], forcing him to kneel to Megatron. Now that he knew Lugnut wasn't totally bonkers (like him), Blitzwing used the key to help Megatron repair his body and restore him. {{storylink|Megatron Rising - Part One}}
: Luggy transforms into a big ol' retro-futuristic bomber plane. He also suffers from [[Bulkhead_%28Animated%29#Animated|Bulkhead]] syndrome, as his robot mode is tiny compared to most Voyagers. A good portion of his vehicle mode transforms into a bigass mace, almost as big as Lugnut himself. He features three automorph gimmicks in his head, mace, and hands.

Hasbro has, citing the strength of the [[Transformers (2007)|movie]] toyline, [[Ruined FOREVER|postponed]] the release of the Animated toyline to June 2008 in the US.
An expansion on the [[Cyber Slammers]] subline from the 2007 live-action movie toys, Bumper Battlers feature "bump-and-transform" action. Hitting the front bumper causes the toy to change into robot mode, and pressing the toy's sigil activates sound effects and speech gimmicks.
* Bumblebee
* Optimus Prime
* Ratchet
