Returning back to SOCCENT after a mission behind enemy lines, Lennox's men discussed what they were going to do once they got home to the States. As usual, [[Jorge Figueroa|Fig]] talked about his mom's cooking in Spanish, [[Robert Epps|Epps]] commented that he'll never accept a dinner invitation to Fig's house and [[Sergeant Donnelly|Donnelly]] reminisced about flat beer, cold hot dogs and baseball on weekends. When asked about what he wanted to do, Lennox replied that he only wanted to hold his baby girl for the first time, to which his men teased him for his sappy sentiment.

After their CV-22 Ospreys touched down, Lennox was writing a report when local boy [[Mahfous]] visited him carrying a bag of water. Soon afterwards, he talked to his wife Sarah and their daughter on the satellite video phone. Lennox declared that their daughter was so cute that he just wanted to chew on her cheeks, and that they both made one good looking kid. To his delight, Sarah told him their girl has his laugh, though he wondered if she had merely farted. Around the same time as a [[Blackout (Movie)|mysterious MH-53 Pave Low]] helicopter had landed on the base, his connection to Sarah became distorted, and he tried to tell her that he'll be home soon as the transmission was cut.

Suddenly, the base was under attack as the helicopter somehow transformed into a giant robot. Leading his men and the boy Mahfous, they witnessed Epps nearly being crushed by the weapons platform before Fig saves him by firing a sabot from his grenade launcher into the 'chest' of the weapon. With Epps in tow, Lennox's unit escaped as the robot laid waste to SOCCENT, leaving no survivors.

The next morning, after making their way through the desert, the men discussed the past night's events, with Epps expressing his belief that the weapon, whatever it was, looked right back at him as he was taking its photograph. Lennox determined that no matter what, they had to get the information back to [[the Pentagon]], and asked Mahfous to lead them to his village where they could find a telephone line. Unknown to them, [[Scorponok (Movie)|a second robot]], a mechanical scorpion, was listening to their conversation and stalking them. As they neared the outskirts of the village, a metal spiked tail rose out of the sand and nearly killed Lennox when Epps fired at it, saving his life. Unfortunately, the giant scorpion killed top kick Donnelly and the men ran for their lives to relative cover of the villiage.

Ordering the men to form a defensive perimeter, Lennox followed Mahfous to his father [[Akram]]'s house, the latter of whom provided him with a cell phone. As the others fought off Scorponok, Lennox attempted to call for help from the Pentagon, but had more than a little trouble with the operator who demanded a credit card despite the life-and-death situation he was in. After successfully searching for Epps' credit card in one of the latter's many back pockets, Lennox successfully contacted the Pentagon, but not before the operator tried to get him to sign onto a Premium Plus World Service Gold Package. He'll never use that company again.

The Pentagon sends in two A-10 Thunderbolt IIs from Strike Package Bravo, to which Lennox orders the men to laze the target for the the Air Force' radars to lock onto and fire upon. Unfortunately, the A-10s do no appreciable damage to the metal scorpion with Epps expressing disbelief that it could still be alive. Lennox suggested the biggest barrels the Air Force has: the 105 millimeter cannons of AC-130 Spectre gunship. This is signaled with a shout of "Bring the rain!", pounding Scorponok into the sand. As the dust settled, the scorpion got up and dived into the sand, but not before leaving part of its damaged tail behind. Lennox and Epps ran to check on Fig, who had been struck by one of the scorpion's missiles.

En-route back to the America, the team studies the tail they salvaged from the battle scene. As the analyst described that it seemed to be covered in a [[Self-regenerating molecular armor]], Lennox pointed out where a sabot round had burned right through. Turning to Epps' expertise, he asked if it was correct that sabot rounds had a 6000 degree magnesium burn, to which Epps said was true. As Lennox ordered Epps to tell command to load sabot rounds on all their gunships, the tail suddenly came to life and narrowly missed impaling them. Epps angrily berated the analyst for telling them it was dead, Lennox ordered them to strap the tail down, while concluding that the technology behind it was 'wicked'. Touching down at Nellis Air Force Base, no sooner had Lennox's men walked off the plane when [[Sector Seven|mysterious government agents]] pull up in black SUVs and order the Rangers to come with them.

After arriving at [[Hoover Dam]], he and his unit meet with Secretary of Defense [[John Keller]], and are taken to see [[Megatron (Movie)|the Iceman]]. After the Iceman began to thaw, Lennox and his unit headed for the armory, where they had a special on forty mm sabot rounds. When [[Samuel James Witwicky|Sam Witwicky]] asked [[Reggie Simmons|Agent Simmons]] to free [[Bumblebee (Movie)|a good robot]], Simmons refuses to listen, until Lennox gets him to cooperate by putting a gun to his chest, resulting in a Mexican standoff between his unit and Sector Seven. Simmons ordered him to release him, but Lennox told Simmons he and his men don't take orders from people who don't exist. They won the standoff. Losing is really not an option for those guys. Lennox and his men subsequently escort Sam and the car to [[Mission City]], meeting [[Autobot|other good robot]]s en route.

After arriving in Mission City, they were attacked by [[Seeker|fighter jet]] [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]]. Later, [[Brawl (Movie)]]started shelling them, which the good robots totally triple teamed. Lennox and his men engaged the tank, but it just wouldn't die. Telling Sam to take the [[All Spark]] to a building to be evacuated, Lennox and his team engaged the tank thing, which began to overtake them. It was only with the help of the the [[Bumblebee (Movie)|the Camaro]] and [[Mikaela Banes|some girl]] that they were able to kill the thing.

Later, Lennox and his men went to assist [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] in his fight with Megatron. During the battle, that helicopter which attacked the base in Qatar arrived and went to help his boss. Lennox totally killed it dead by the time honored method of:

* Getting on a motorcycle
* Jumping off the motorcycle as it slams into the enemy
* Sliding under his opponent.
* Shooting them in the [[gearbox]] with sabot rounds until they are dead.
* Going "woo-hoo", "yee-ha", or another exclamation of success.

His final action in the battle of Mission City was to shoot a sabot round in the chest of Megatron, offering an opening to Sam to ram the Allspark in his chest, thus allowing the victory.

After the deaths of the [[Decepticon]]s, [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] gave him a ride home, where he was reunited with his wife and met his newborn daughter. It is unknown if he planned to remain with Lennox.

Starscream had ascended to Decepticon leadership in the absence of their former lord, and though he must "seem" to carry on the long search for the lost Megatron and the [[All Spark]] to keep his position as leader, his greatest hope was that Megatron NEVER be found. Some loyal Decepticons, especially [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]], strongly suspect this and sought to frustrate Starscream's self-serving plans. [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] buddies up with him, but he does like to trick people. [[Bonecrusher (Movie)|Bonecrusher]] hates him, but one shouldn't really read too much into that.

During a search of an abandoned solar system, the ''[[Nemesis (Movie)|Nemesis]]'' came across [[Ghost 1|a vessel]] that bore a resemblance to Megatron's [[alternate mode]]. Starscream went to investigate it (intending to destroy it). After chasing off [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]], he communicated with the creatures aboard the vessel, who called themselves [[human]]s. Starscream claimed that his people once lived with the [[Autobot]]s, and that their treacherous leader, [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], started a war for the All Spark. The humans told him of a robotic creature that they had found, and Starscream, recognizing it as Megatron, told them it was an Autobot scout. While communicating with them, he downloaded all the information on their computers, learning that the All Spark was also located on Earth. He offered to help the humans to return to their world if they helped them attack the Autobots, hoping that Prime would destroy them and be guilt stricken in the process. They attacked Optimus and Bumblebee, but the two Autobots escaped. After their ship sank into a cavern, Starscream revealed his true nature, and abandoned them. As a result, the humans concluded neither faction could be trusted. Way to make first contact there, Screamer.

Returning to the battle, he lied to his fellow Decepticons, claiming that the two Autobots were dead and that he was unable to communicate with the humans. Blackout, unconvinced with the story, challenged Starscream to single combat. Starscream won, and the Decepticons launched an attack on the ''[[Ark (Movie)|Ark]]''. During the battle, Optimus, Bumblebee, and the human vessel showed up. Starscream was in a position to terminate Prime, when the humans fired their weapons at Starscream. Seriously damaged, Starscream finished them off a single plasma blast, then retreated. The Autobots figured that Starscream would not risk travelling to [[Earth]], for fear of losing power, but Prime figured that it was only a matter of time before the desire for vengeance and the lure of the All Spark brought the Decepticons to Earth. {{storylink|Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday}}

====Sector Seven Alternate Reality Game====

Starscream (Disguised as a F-15 Eagle fighter jet) was active on Earth in early 1982, with documented sightings of jets sporting his unique colors on several continents before he was caught on camera transforming to robot mode in California. This sighting (and its subsequent leak) was the direct impetus for [[Hungry Dragon|Hungry Dragon 1]].

''This seemingly contradicts Starscream's 2003 arrival on Earth in the 'Prime Directives' prequel comic, though it's possible Starscream simply concealed an earlier visit to Earth because he had no desire for the Decepticons to find Megatron.''

Later, during late April/Early May of 2007, Sector Seven has intercepted two sound clips through Agent Cod3x and another source (currently unknown). Apparently, Starscream wanted to make his presence known and left a message announcing that he would have the All Spark, and that Agent Powers would be the one to hand it over. These messages were somewhat garbled, as they were apparently received over a SETI@home system. In 2003, Starscream's infiltration team consisting of [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and Blackout touched down on [[Mars]] and destroyed the Beagle 2 Mars rover. {{Storylink|Prime Directives, Part 3}}

Splitting up, they head to Earth, where Starscream scans an F-22 Raptor fighter jet being tested by the [[United States Military|US Air Force]] at Nellis Air Force base. He destroyed it, then adopted the vehicle form for himself. Leaving the scene of destruction, he radioed his fellow Decepticons to report in on their hunt for new disguise forms, which they do. He reiterated that their mission is to find the Allspark, to which Blackout reminds him the mission is also to find Megatron. Starscream meekly replies "Yeah, right... him too."

Later, Starscream and Blackout detected the unique radiation of the Allspark and investigate, but Starscream soon realizes it was a trap by Sector Seven. Starscream destroyed several AH-64 Apache helicopters while Blackout attacked Sector Seven's bunker and attempted to hack into their mainframe. When the humans severed the connection, the Decepticons broke off from the battle and linked up with Barricade, who was in pursuit of the Autobot [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]]. {{Storylink|Prime Directives, Part 4}}

Starscream coordinated the missions for Blackout and Barricade, while hiding in a military base. After receiving information from Barricade that Megatron had been located, Starscream ordered him to proceed to Hoover Dam, while he went to locate [[Bonecrusher (Movie)|Bonecrusher]] and [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]]. However, the humans were aware of the three Decepticons, using drones, weapon platforms, and fighters based on Cybertronian design. Starscream was forced to move back and forth between Bonecrusher and Brawl, rescuing them from human attackers, all to background music far too heroic sounding for someone of Screamer's character. After taking a moment to enjoy the ruin he had made of the base, Starscream proceeded to Hoover Dam. The humans told him of a robotic creature that they had found, and Starscream, recognizing it as Megatron, told them it was an Autobot scout. While communicating with them, he downloaded all the information on their computers, learning that the All Spark was also located on Earth. He offered to help the humans to return to their world if they helped them attack the Autobots, hoping that Prime would destroy them and be guilt stricken in the process. They attacked Optimus and Bumblebee, but the two Autobots escaped. After their ship sank into a cavern, Starscream revealed his true nature, and abandoned them. As a result, the humans concluded neither faction could be trusted. Way to make first contact there, Screamer.

Returning to the battle, he lied to his fellow Decepticons, claiming that the two Autobots were dead and that he was unable to communicate with the humans. For reasons unknown, Starscream is a tan/taupe coloring, with rather 'backwards' paint details: on Starscream parts painted gray are metallic on the real F-22, and parts painted silver (such as the edges of his wings) are actually supposed to be gray.

:However, most Starscream's vehicle mode inaccuracies are down to his very design and structure. He has almost no engine details to speak of, the rear stabilizers are the wrong shape (and of extremely simple sculpt) and his head and feet are blatantly visible. Starscream also almost certainly has the most undercarriage junk of any transformer based on a real-life plane ever made, with his legs creating a large and blocky fuselage section and some huge and very prominent triple-barrel Gatling missile launchers mounted under each wing. Pushing the fighter along a smooth surface causes the barrels to rotate and fire their projectiles, which can also be stored in the black flip-up braces on the launchers.

:During transformation, pushing up upon the canopy fuselage piece activates Starscream's [[Automorph]]ing gimmick which pushes panels out of the torso, wings and stabilizers. In robot mode, Starscream is mostly faithful to his movie CGI model, except for being bulkier around his chest, lacking engines on his back and the very large Gatling cannons serving as his arms (a facsimile of his much more slender weapons from the movie). Interestingly, his projectile missiles are sculpted to resemble fingers, should users choose keep them loaded while Starscream is in robot mode.

==Trivia==
* The card back of Protoform Starscream's packaging features a him with a completely different, earlier head sculpt. What's more, this head design is featured on his Protoform body in IDW's movie prequel comics.

* His protoform was not the only design to get a new head. The earliest concepts of Starscream's head were more skull like and oblong in shape. This was, of course, redesigned to look more "like a samurai helmet". Unlike the redesigned head of Megatron, Starscream's earlier face only shows up in ONE piece of media: The book [[Look and Find Transformers]].

* Starscream seems to be able to fly while out of his jet form, using the F-22's engines on his back. Whether this is his actual robot form or a form between his robot and jet forms isn't known, though it appears the latter is true, as seen when he attacks the other F-22s (see picture above).
