Apparently Computron was somehow dealt with, as Abominus was next seen facing [[Omega Doom]], who had also recently arrived at the Decepticon base. Omega Doom brought Abominus to his knees with a cannon blast, but Omega's next shot was blocked by a force field that [[Nexus Prime]] projected around the beleaguered combiner just in the nick of time.

Rippersnapper was first spotted with his fellow Terrorcons inside [[Unicron]]'s head. [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] used them to blast into Unicron so he could retrieve more [[Anti-electron|anti-electrons]] for an attack against the Autobots. Rippersnapper and his consorts did a decent job in keeping the Autobots at bay, but were quickly forced into retreating when [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] finished building the [[Technobot (G1)|Technobots]], and gave them the ability to merge into [[Computron (G1)|Computron]]. {{storylink|Grimlock's New Brain}}

Later on, the Terrorcons were seen under the service of the [[Quintessons]]. When [[Dirk Manus]] and his Technobot escorts were on their way through space, Abominus swooped down and attacked, shooting them from the sky. The automatic timer in Abominus, placed within by the Quintessons, forced Abominus to separate into his Terrorcon compenments. The team was upset they couldn't finish the task of destroying the Autobots, and Rippersnapper was quick to show the most hostility, not wanting to stop now. Rippersnapper's team combined into Abominus to battle [[Superion (G1)|Superion]]. {{storylink|Four Warriors Come out of the Sky}} Later on, Abominus teamed up with his fellow combiners to wage war on their Autobot counterparts. Their victory seemed assured until the [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Battleship Maximus]] swooped in and scattered the Decepticon combiners. Hun-Gurrr was spotted by [[Daniel Witwicky (G1)|Daniel Witwicky]], [[Wheelie (G1)|Wheelie]] and [[Shōki]] of the Trainbots, but the other Terrorcons managed to take them hostage. Hun-Gurrr left Rippersnapper and [[Sinnertwin (G1)|Sinnertwin]] in charge of the hostages, while he took the other Terrorcons to finish planting the charges. They caught an amusing show as Wheelie and Danny fought in their cell, but the tussle was actually a feint to hide a homing signal Danny sent out to his father. As you might guess from the name, '''Overkill''' is all about excess. Sometimes this works to his advantage, such as when his endless tirades and theatrics distract his foes in combat. Sometimes excess works to his disadvantage, such as when he gets so caught up in showing off that he becomes distracted in combat. And sometimes it just makes him look silly, swinging and blasting at a fallen foe long after the fight has ended.

Though he talks a better game than he fights, Overkill's dinosaur mode is strong enough to be a decent threat... except when the circuits that control his size-change from cassette to dinosaur malfunction (as they are wont to do) and he finds himself stuck as an audiotape-sized dino. Awwww!
