'''Ratchet''' is one of the oldest Autobots on [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]]'s team. Though sporting a bit of paunch, he's a true veteran, and he's the only one of the group to have seen real fighting and war in the past. A leader figure for his comrades, he's got a bit of a military drill sergeant aura to him. He also likes bashing [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] on the head when 'Bee's being a smart-ass.

His special power is based on magnetism.

The Autobots stay in stasis for the next 50 years until accidentally awakened by a strange incident. Optimus and the Autobots take on Earth vehicles as alternate modes and stop a giant bio-mechanical bug. They are hailed as heroes for it. Eventually, Starscream comes for the All Spark, and Optimus finds that the schemer can pack quite a punch.
