==Synopsis==

Sari takes the Autobots to "Dino Drive", a dinosaur exibit, inorder to teach the Autobots some of Earth's history. On the way, Bulkhead accidently destroys every car in the parking lot. Once inside, the see the dinosaurs and become amazed dinosaurs' power. Bilkhead becomes so facinated he tries to get the Pterodon to fly and do other things to amuse him. This only succeeds in having the robot Pterodon fall and cause a Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus robot collide and break each other. With this, the Autobot take the broken anamatronics to Professor Sumdac for repair.

At the lab, Megatron views the power of dinosaurs through the tutorbot and becomes amazed at their supposed strength. Sumdac then walks in and reliazes the tutorbot is on and becomes preplexed about how simple the information on it is saying how everyone already knows it. Megatron then speaks to him saying he did not know. Sumdac becomes shocked at Megatron's awakening and tells him where he is. Megatron the reassures him that since he's not going anywhere, he can sit through a long story. Megatron then convinces Sumdac that he is a friend of the Autobots and that they'll be happy to see him repaired so they keep his existance a secert. After this he tells Sumdac he will help him repair the dinosaurs; not telling Sumdac of course that he plans on using them for prototype attack drones.

Meanwhile, at the Autobot base, Prowl tries to teach Bulkhead how to control his strength and size. This off course ends with Bulkhead falling on Prowl. He then takes him to an abandoned island to train, but this results in Bulkhead dropping trees on Prowl.

At the Dino Drive, Sumdac reveals his and Megatron's creations: The Dinobots!

After displaying what Sumdac programmed to do, Megatron makes them display what he programmed them to do: Destroy the Autobots! As the Dinodrones attack them Bulkhead tries to recreate Prowl's teaching to no effect as the others get beat up by the drones. Ratchet and Bumblebee then combine their powers to create an EMP blast to shut them down, but Sari's key activates to blow the dino skin off them and reveal their robot bodies. Sumdac then takes them back to his lab to see what he can fix.

At his lab, Megatron becomes preplexed as to why the key activated, thinking something was Cybertronian about the drones. He then dissmisses this ldea and curses the drones for being useless. Then something happens that surprises Megatron, the Tyrannosaurus starts to talk, and the other dinosaurs to to move! And on top of that, he finds he can't control them!

Megatron then surmizes that the Autobots did something to them declaring somehow they have sparks of their own. The Tyrannosaurus then dubbs himself "Grimlock" and without fail Megatron declares that he is the Dinobots' leader. Grimlock of course dosen't approve and announce he is the leader. Suddenly the tutorbot activates, much to Megatron annoyance, and explains how dinosaur fossils make fossil fuel which makes cars and trucks work. Grimlock takes this as that cars and trucks "eat" dinosaurs and announce that cars and trucks are bad. Megatron takes advantage of their low intelligence and tells them that "fossil feeders" are bad and the only thing worse then cars or trucks are car robots aka Autobots. He then cuases them to activate their fire breath powers and they use them to destroy the tutorbot. Grimlock is pleased with this, but does not know how he did it. Megatron then tells them that the fossil feeders want them dead, so the Dinobots go to defend themselves.

As they go to wage war on the fossil feeders, Capt Fanzone's arrives to attempt to stop them. Suddenly, Slag (who has not yet named himself, neither has Swoop) tailwhips a car and Capt Fanzone's car becomes the first casulity of the Dinobots' war on the fossil feeders as it lands on his car. Fanzone then takes a bazooka and shoots Slag; but Slag just eats the missile.

The Autobots then arrive and lure them to a park to battle them. As Grimlock sees them transform, he says he forgets something but then remembers that he was told car robots were worse than cars and trucks. As the battle goes the on, the Autobots are seriously out matched. But as Bumblebee and Ratchet heat up a parking lot, tar is made and Bulkhead throws the Dinobots in. The Dinobot use their flames in an attempt to free themselves from the "Black-Sticky-Stuff" but to no aval.

Trapped, the Dinobots are like in frozen tar with only their heads sticking out and Sumdac declars to melt them down due to their danger to society. Optimus approves of this but Prowl does not feeling that they have sparks within them. As Sumdac returns the next morning, he finds the Dinobots have escaped.

* The Dinobots' color schemes are lifted directly from the Generation 1 cartoon, with some minor variations. This is most obvious in Swoop's torso being blue, rather then the red featured in Generation 1 Swoop's comic and toy incarnations. The ''[[Diaclone]]'' version of [[Swoop (G1)|Generation 1 Swoop]]'s toy likewise had a blue chest, so this is possibly an homage, but is more likely coincidence.
* Unlike Generation 1, the Dinobot's alt modes match up more closely with how dinosaurs are depicted in the fossil record (less sluggish, more mammal/bird-like, Grimlock bent over horizontally, no bow-leggedness, etc.). There was still a lack of feathers before they were de-skinned, though. (However, since it's doubtful ''T. As a armored car leaves a bank in the dead of night, The Angry Archer robs it and makes his escape from the cops on a fire engine, thinking the police won’t stop a firetruck heading to a fire. It’s the Archer’s mistake however because he hitched a ride on the back of Optimus Prime. Prime, playing hero, subdues the thief easily and smiles for evening news cameras.

Elsewhere, Prowl observes a cat stalking a bird and finds it amazing, only to have his safari cut short by awe-struck humans and camera bots, and he heads back to the new Autobot headquarters – an abandoned car factory – in a huff. The other Autobots are in the middle of installing the world’s largest flat-panel TV in their new home and sharing their views on their newfound stardom. Prowl returns upset with the constant interuptions and goes to his japanese decorated room. In his room, Prowl lectures Optimus on his fascination with the Earth's animals only to have that cut short with Bumblebee's antics. Annoyed again, Prowl leaps off into a tree.

Meanwhile, Sari tries to enter her father's private lab. After she uses her Allspark key to open the door, Professer Sumdac leaves with her before she can enter reminding her no one but him is allowed in there. Residual energy from the key floats over and reactivates the head of Megatron, who views video of the last battle between the Autobots and Starscream, including the latter’s confession of sabotaging his leader. Megatron is understandably ticked and, while lamenting his lack of a body, he discovers his new power to control machines around him.

After trashing her tutorbot using the Allspark key, Sari tells Sumdac she is leaving to the Autobot base. Overhearing this, Megatron sends his drone to hide in her backpack so he can search the base for the Allspark

At the Autobot base, Prowl watches a nature show about catepillars evolving into butterflies and he finds this facinating. Bumblebee of course, isn't interested and changes the channel on him. Annoyed, Prowl pounces Bumblebee like a cat to prove what he has learned from animals before leaping to a high point to meditate. Later, Bumblebee and Bulkhead play twister with much difficulty; Bumblebee then challenges Prowl to try. Prowl quickly jumps in and easily touches all the spots Sari announced with each legimate, being victorious he leaves to his room.

Sari then tells ghost stories to the rest of the Autobots and succeeds in scaring Bumblebee. Meanwhile the search proves fruitless, Megatron decides to kill the Autobots and find the location from their lifeless shells. He takes control of the assembly line robots and uses pincers, bolt shooting bots, a big magnet and a crushing device to pummel the Autobots. Prowl shows up and realizes that the machines are detecting the Autobots by use of motion sensors. He instructs everyone to be "still, then strike" in order to get to the control panel. Only problem is, he is not invisible to Megaton so he gets caught by the machines as well. The only bot left is Bumblebee, who manages to listen Prowl long enough to outrace the machines and destroy the control panel.

In a parting gesture, Megatron cuts open a fuel tank perilously close to a fire, but the Autobots team up and launch it into the sky, where it explodes harmlessly. As they wonder who tried to kill them, they discover the pocketbot under Megatron's control, but Bulkhead smashes it before they can study it.

Back at the lab, Megatron has a fit over his loss, and decides to reveal more Cybertronian technology to Sumdac in order to get a new body.

At the end, Prowl again coaches Bumblebee in the art of stillness while both play a game of twister.

Like [[Starscream (disambiguation)|others of his kind]], Starscream seeks to betray [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] and take over the Decepticons. This time, however, he's not afraid to plant bombs on his mighty leader. In the aftermath of the explosion, Starscream got so caught up in his own greatness that he didn't notice that his comrades abandoned him on a ship hurtling towards an exploding space bridge.

Over the next fifty solar cycles, Starcream searched for the All Spark on his own, using the damaged ship as a base (and probably getting a few screws loose in his [[central processor]]). He later discovered that the [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]] was on Earth and adopted a jet fighter as an alternate mode to search for it. When he revealed himself to the Autobots, he quickly thrashed each of them individually. Starcreams mocked them, apparently assuming that the Autobots thought ''they'd'' really defeated Megatron (whom he referred to as "the great Megatron" without sarcasm, so he seems to have at least a loathing respect for his leader's power). All too boastful of his cunning, Starscream boldly admitted that Megatron was already defeated by the bomb Starscream himself had put on him. Despite being more powerful than the Autobots, Starscream failed to take the All Spark, partially because he [[Megatron (BW)|spent too much time gloating]]. [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] grabbed Starscream in midair, and they opened the All Spark, releasing a massive wave of energy. The series will eschew the ever-continuing space opera storylines of the past few anime to return to the episodic approach of ''[[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]''; each episode will be a standalone story, but with an overall story arc that stretches through the whole season. The focus is being put firmly on characterization, dynamic action, and humor.

The episodes will center not only on the war between the [[Autobot]]s and the [[Decepticon]]s, but also on the Autobots' interactions with many of [[Detroit]]'s [[human]] supervillain denizens, including a [[Angry Archer|maladjusted marksman]], a [[Meltdown (Animated)|guy who can spit acid]], and a guy who [[Prometheus|looks good in a pimp suit]]. The idea is to present the Decepticons as more of an ongoing background threat instead of having them be repeatedly defeated each episode and look like bumbling fools. Rather, the arrival of a Decepticon in battle is supposed to be a big deal, requiring multiple Autobots working together to stop even a single one. The human villains will give the Autobots "everyday" threats--and no doubt their schemes will turn out to be the result of Decepticon treachery. Season 2 is already in the works, and seasons 3 and 4 are quite possible.

While the series is not a sequel to the recent [[Transformers (2007)|live-action movie]], they have many thematic elements in common, most notably the central role of the [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark cube]] and the revelation that all modern technology has been reverse-engineered from the dormant body of [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]. Hasbro also carried over some design elements from the live-action movie into Animated designs, including not just the aforementioned cube but also [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]]'s medical readout striped deco and [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]'s helmet. These are meant to be "connection points," helping kids who had seen the theatrical film but had no prior Transformers experience ease into understanding the new series.
