The '''space bridge''' appears in several Transformer continuities. The exact properties of the space bridge vary, but typically they serve as a more convienient means moving Transformers from one planet to another than the traditional means of space travel.

Space bridges are nonetheless distinct from Transwarp in that their primary function is movement through space, not time, though the time taken to traverse a space bridge seems to depend on the technology used.

Space bridges are the main mode of traveling in the Unicron Trilogy. Unlike their Generation 1 counterparts, they do not appear to need use of a fixed device at both ends.

They appear to change in variation from series to series, although this is likely simply due to art direction. In [[Armada]], the Transformers are 'stretched' into warp gates, while in [[Energon]] and [[Cybertron]], space bridges tend to appear as large holes in the sky that may or may not have a clear ramp leading into it.

After the destruction of Unicron during the climax of [[Transformers: The Movie]], his lifeforce raced through time and space where it riddled itself into the planet [[Gaia]] and became known as [[Angolmois]] energy. After a botched attempt by [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] to steal all the Angolmois, the energy was sealed into capsules and scattered across the galaxy.

Big Convoy, leader of the [[Maximal]] new recruits, and Magmatron, the [[Predacon]] [[Emperor of Destruction]], raced across the galaxy collecting the Angolmois capsules. Eventually, after numerous rascally hijinks, the two factions recovered all the capsules.

The the Blentrons came out of nowhere and beat the ever living CRAP out of both teams and stole the capsules. The Blentrons, absurdly powerful and able to bend time and space at their leisure, had no trouble stealing all the capsules and trapping the Maximals and Magmatron in a wormhole, leaving the Predacons to bicker over leadership.

As it turns out, the Blentrons were created by Unicron. Loyal to their God, they released all the Angolmois into the corpse of Galvatron, reviving Unicron. Unicron then absorbed the last remaining bit of loose Angolmois; the Blentrons-themselves. That's gratitude for ya!

Alpha Quintesson began the war over Energon by providing the Terrorcon group -led by Scorponok- with enhanced powers and "Hyper Modes", sending them to the undefended Earth to drain it of the newly-discovered pure Energon ore. At the same time, he sent his four Horsemen (three Autobots and a Decepticon that had been captured and brainwashed before Unicron was defeated ten years previous) to Cybertron to wreak havoc, preventing the Autobots from getting to Earth.

Unfortunately for Alpha, the Horsemen were repelled by the [[Omnicon]]s and the newly-enhanced Autobots, which gave them the time needed to reach Earth and sink the Terrorcons' plans. For a time, Alpha Quintesson's involvement in the war was minimal, but when he returned, it was in a big way; unleashing thouseands of Terrorcon drones to decimate [[Los Angeles]], [[Tokyo]], [[Toronto]] and [[Moscow]].

After being attacked and abducted, he was brought to [[Scorponok(Energon)|Scorponok]] and [[Alpha Quintesson]]'s base of operations, where they convinced him to side with them by promising to revive [[Megatron(Armada)|Megatron]]. Although he clearly disliked [[Scorponok(Energon)|Scorponok]], Tidal Wave carried out orders in attacking other energon reserves run by the Autobots until [[Megatron(Armada)|Megatron]] returned. Following this, he continued raiding Autobot bases, only under Megatron's orders.

Tidal Wave would later show disdain for the madman [[Decepticon]] recruit [[Shockblast]] (whose design, interestingly enough, is based off the [[G1]] character who holds the same name as Tidal Wave's Japanese counterpart - [[Shockwave]] ). During a battle on Cybertron, an [[energon tower]] collapsed on top of Tidal Wave due to a shot from Shockblast. Megatron called for a retreat and hauled Tidal Wave's damaged body back into space, where the giant Decepticon was reformatted into [[Tidal Wave(Energon)|Mirage]].

Mirage traded his gigantic, hulking body for a smaller, sleeker, and speedier form. He also apparently gained an upgrade in intelligence, although he also started to buddy up with [[Demolishor]] and [[Snow Cat]] to form a comedy relief trio. He continued to serve Megatron throughout the war [[for energon]], even gaining a semi-romantic infatuation with him. Well...at least in the Japanese version.

When [[Galvatron]] flung himself into the energon sun to destroy [[Unicron]]'s spark, Mirage loyally followed after him and ended his life.

Throughout the [[Transformers: Energon]] anime, Tidal Wave/Mirage had the habit of repeating his name as a sort of battle cry. This, unsurprisingly, did not help deter his reputation as an idiot.

Tidal Wave, in his combined battleship mode, was stationed as a relay and refuel point off a small chain of islands in the Mid-Atlantic. The [[Autobot]]s made their way inside him to take out the [[Decepticlone]] platoons inside and destroy him, but discovered that Tidal Wave wasn't merely a transport. They escaped just in time to avoid being crushed as Tidal Wave transformed into his titanic robot mode.

Tidal Wave walked around the island chain in the deep waters, unloading volleys of missiles, lasers, and the occasional [[Jet Sniper]] on the tiny-by-comparison Autobots. Despite his impressive size, firepower, and nigh-impenetrable armor, the Autobots mamaged to do enough damage to Tidal Wave's one weak point -his face- to cause a chain reaction that caused multiple exlposions inside him, sending him falling face-first to the ocean floor.
