For many years, a dormant Jetfire had hidden in his alternate mode at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, until Seymour Simmons, Sam Witwicky, Mikaela Banes, Leo Spitz and Wheelie broke in with a small fragment of the All Spark. The surge of energy awoke him, and the cantankerous old robot wandered outside, pausing only to bang his head on the door. Confused and disoriented, Jetfire wandered about, going on that he had a mission but could not remember what it was. Only the efforts of the humans and an ex-Decepticon brought his senses back. Jetfire inquired on the state of the civil war, and revealed that he had defected to the Autobots (it's an intensely personal decision). This lead the smaller Wheelie to defect to a human female he dubbed "Warrior Goddess". After turning back to the conversation, an annoyed Jetfire shouted that he had a lot of issues regarding his mother, and that his father was the first wheel, who did not transform but performed his functions with honor and dignity. At which point a parachute stored in him suddenly popped open, bringing him down. Sam then tried to explain what was going on.

When Sam was finished carving Cybertronian symbols on the ground, he mentioned Megatron and The Fallen. Jetfire said that The Fallen had assigned him his mission, but then left him to rust. The symbols were a part of his mission, and he teleported the entire group (including Bumblebee, the twins, and Wheelie) to Egypt. Jetfire then told them the story of the Dynasty of Primes and The Fallen, Cybertron's first contact with Earth, the solar harvester which could destroy a Sun and convert it to energon, and the Matrix of Leadership needed to activate it, hidden on Earth. He revealed that only a Prime could kill The Fallen, but he believed that none were left. Sam told him of Optimus Prime, catching the ancient Seeker's interest, and was distraught to hear of his death. Sam then wondered if the Matrix could restore Optimus to life. Jetfire said it was not its intention, but that the power within was unlike any known. Sadly, this was all Jetfire could do for the group, and he urged them to hurry off and find the Tomb of the Primes.

During the final battle around the Great Pyramid of Giza (which contained the Solar Harvester), Jetfire arrived and attempted to "stick" the landing, which didn't go quite as he planned. He immediately decided to "show how they brought the pain in my day", slicing Mixmaster in half, and crushing his upper torso. He was critically wounded by a surprise attack from Scorponok and although he managed to kill the Decepticon, the injury was fatal. Fortunately, Jetfire was treated to one last wonder, as Sam Witwicky used the Matrix to resurrect Optimus, and Jetfire could hardly believe that he was seeing a living Prime. Unfortunately, The Fallen teleported in and attacked, stealing the Matrix and placing it in the harvester. As he lay dying, Jetfire, who felt that during his entire life he'd never done a thing worth doing, told the resurrected Optimus Prime to take his parts and "discover a power like you've never known". Telling Optimus to fulfill his destiny, Jetfire ripped out his spark core and died.

Jetfire's sacrifice was not in vain: within moments of his death, Ratchet instructed Jolt to begin a full transplant of the afterburners and weapons systems onto Optimus. Now equipped with Jetfire's powerful weapons and engines, Optimus broke through a blockade of debris The Fallen had telekinetically erected around the Pyramid and destroyed the Solar Harvester before it could be used against the Earth's Sun. Prime then faced the Fallen and Megatron, using his afterburners to send Megatron flying through some ruins. During the battle, The Fallen pulled off the left wing and afterburner, using them to strike Prime in the face, but Optimus ultimately triumphed and ripped out the Fallen's spark core, killing the treacherous Prime. After the battle, Optimus quickly detached Jetfire's parts. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
* Jetfire's head was redesigned so Industrial Light & Magic could animate a smirk on the character.
* Jetfire's ancient Cybertronian vehicle mode as seen in IDW Publishing's Defiance #4 bears more than a passing similarity with the starship Axalon from Beast Wars.

* Jetfire is one of the few movie Transformers to mention having a family; in fact, he claims his father was the wheel.

* In the film, Jetfire seemed to say that the reason he was extremely "elderly" was that he has gone for too long without an adequate supply of energon. Well, the fact that he was one of the first Transformers ever to live probably contributes a little; but at least the low energon explains why he is 'slowly falling apart and dying' as opposed to other 'old' bots like Ironhide.

* According to him (and demonstrated as well), he can access a Space Bridge to transport himself and others across vast distances in mere moments. Apparently he's not very good at it though, as he ignores the fact that his teleportation attempt resulted in injury to all involved, and simply showed relief that they'd ended up on the right planet. Revenge of the Fallen (film)

*While the Leader Class toy is advertised as being able to combine with Optimus Prime they do not combine in the movie itself, per se. Jetfire merely kills himself so that Optimus Prime can wear the parts of his corpse as extra armor and weaponry. That's right, he's kibble.

*The presence of other Seekers scattered across the world is confirmed by Wheelie. However, outside of Ransack's appearance in the novel adaptation and Titan comics, Jetfire is the only one to play any role. You'd think a bunch of ancient, dormant Transformers scattered across the United States would be a concern.

* Jetfire's head was redesigned so Industrial Light & Magic could animate a smirk on the character. This early, mouthless head was still used for the toy designs and promotional art though.

In his day, Jetfire was a living legend both in the air and on the battlefield. Sadly, his day has long since past. His body went south years back. His bunny is dead on the wheel. He's got rust in places he didn't even know he had. Basically, Jetfire's old! An ancient Decepticon Seeker, Jetfire was around long before the war broke out, and unlike many, came to see his "comrades" for what they were. This caused him to defect to the Autobots, something virtually unheard of. He's a fine asset, powerful and possessing the ability to teleport across great distances. This is slightly offset by the fact he's so old, his processor gave up the ghost millennia ago. These days he has a hard enough time remembering his name. It makes him a bit crotchety and also leaves him with the nagging feeling he's forgotten something important.

In the distant past, the All Spark Cube created a race of powerful, trans-dimensional beings as the first inhabitants of Cybertron. The Cube gave these beings mighty powers, as well as terraforming their world, but it was not limitless, and gradually became depleted. The first beings learned that the All Spark's power could be replenished by harvesting the energy of stars, but they were unable to locate new stars to suit their purposes, despite their amazing ability to travel between dimensions. Once again, the Cube came to the rescue, creating a race of workers, who had the ability to change their shape.

Jetfire was among the very first of these new beings, a "Seeker" with the ability to travel across the vastness of space in search of new suns. Once located, he would lead others and his masters back to it so a harvester could be constructed to drain the energy of these stars, thus replenishing the All Spark. Defiance issue 4 It is assumed that at some point during the civil war on Cybertron, he sided with Megatron, the new protege of Jetfire's only surviving ancient master, The Fallen.

:As seen in the movie, he can combine with Leader Class Optimus Prime to form Prime's powered-up mode, albeit at the cost of Optimus Prime's leg articulation. An alternate foot/leg configuration can be used with not only looks more accurate, but allows decent leg articulation.

:Despite the back of the package showing two lights within Jetfire's torso, he only has one light, on his left side, while the other slot that would normally house the light is filled in with a separate plastic piece.
: Fast Action Battler Jetfire is a simplified, roughly Deluxe-sized toy of Jetfire. In vehicle mode, he transforms into a sort of cute, super-deformed SR-71 Blackbird jet. As with most Transformers toy jets, he has a fair bit of undercarriage junk from his robot mode, though not to the extent of the Leader class toy. In robot mode he has a reasonably accurate depiction of Jetfire's design, though his right arm ends in a spring-loaded projectile launcher shaped like a rotary cannon.
Notes
* Jetfire's head was redesigned so Industrial Light & Magic could animate a smirk on the character. This early, mouthless head was still used for the toy designs and promotional art though.

With scruffy ginger hair, a green "Alien Death Ray" T-shirt and a VW Kombi van, you'd be forgiven for writing him off as some hippie slacker, but Hunter O'Nion (that's Oh-Nigh-On, not un-yun; he's a little sensitive about his last name) is really a modern-day questing knight. He runs the Mechatopia.com website, a repository for information about the presence of gigantic extraterrestrial mechanoids on Earth, and is willing to personally scour the back-roads of continental North America for further evidence.

If there's one problem with Hunter, it's that he's not the most sensitive of people; also, in his drive to uncover the truth, he can get very blunt and direct when someone who may know more than they let on gets evasive—even if that someone has good reason to dissemble.

A chance encounter with Verity Carlo in Arizona, though, gives him more than he could have wished for: Not only does he achieve personal contact with an actual alien robot in disguise, he's dropped right into the middle of a covert war. The question is, now that Hunter's found his proof, what will he do with it?

Fiction
IDW comics continuity
Hunter's family was shattered when he was eight—his father died and his mother descended into alcoholism as a result. His sister left when she was old enough, while he stayed until his mother's death. The only thing that kept him going was "a dream of something else, something bigger". Hail and Farewell

After picking up Verity Carlo in the North American desert, he was surprisingly thrust into the war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Infiltration issue 0 After being rescued from a Decepticon assault by Ratchet, he offered assistance to the Autobots in an... "unofficial" capacity, spying on an abandoned Decepticon base before it was destroyed by Blitzwing and Skywarp, under orders from Starscream. Infiltration issue 5 Hunter saved Verity's life with the help of Bumblebee and at great physical risk. Infiltration issue 6

After this mission, Optimus Prime ordered that Hunter and the other humans be sent home. However, as the Autobots escorted them away from the Autobot base, a Machination assault team attacked. It appears that Hunter and Sunstreaker were killed by the Machination Escalation issue 1, but upon examination of Sunstreaker's husk, Ratchet discovered that it was a fake. Escalation issue 2 Meanwhile, Hunter was being operated on by the Machination, his body becoming the host for mysterious implants. Abraham Dante presented Hunter to a pleased, mysterious, and damaged Transformer (later revealed to be Scorponok) who ordered mass-production to begin. Dante, gesturing to a wall of headless Sunstreaker bodies, implied that Hunter may still play a role in the Machination's "new world order". Escalation issue 6

The Machination subjected Hunter to an extensive regimen of brainwashing, after which Dante was informed that the boy was a blank slate, an organic machine that they could do with as they wished. Quality control for this process was apparently lacking, as Hunter was able to retain his own thoughts through a mantra of useless science fiction trivia. Skulking unseen through the Machination facility, Hunter was surprised to discover the severed but still functioning head of Sunstreaker, begging him for death! Devastation issue 2 In order to fight back against the Machination, Hunter submitted himself to the process of becoming a Headmaster, which Sunstreaker warned would hurt. A lot. (It did) Devastation issue 4

We're-I'm... SUNSTREAKER! And I'm out!

Hunter emerged a Headmaster, finding his physical abilities greatly enhanced, and immediately headed for one of the Machination's Sunstreaker clone bodies. Devastation issue 5 Just as a freshly restored Scorponok, head of the Machination, broke through a wall to kill him, Hunter was able to transform to Sunstreaker's head. The clone body attached the new head, transformed to vehicle mode, blasted a hole in the wall, and escaped. Devastation issue 6

Hunter, now carrying all of Sunstreaker's mind, began running raids on Machination facilities in an attempt to track down Sunstreaker's real head. Unlike Scorponok, the pair still existed as distinct individuals, and were both set on breaking up their partnership once they found a way to set everything right. At one facility in Massachusetts, Hunter found data relating to "Dinobots", and, hoping it would be a lead, they headed for Dallas. Maximum Dinobots issue 1 Hunter later wondered if they shouldn't head for Fallon instead, given that's where the Dyno/Dinobots actually were, but Sunstreaker argues that by retrieving his head, they'll be able to disable all the Headmasters at once. Maximum Dinobots issue 2

When they arrived in Dallas, seeing that the facility was far bigger than anything they had come across before, Hunter realized they needed a plan and forced Sunstreaker to sit it out while they watched and waited, citing that he was the more level-headed of the pair and that it was nice to just be Hunter O'Nion every now and then. Maximum Dinobots issue 3 When the time came, he reconnected with Sunstreaker and barged into Machination Central to find his head (stopping to talk with a damaged Hot Rod and slagging a couple of his clones). Hunter disconnected after Scorponok found them and blasted a hole in Sunstreaker's chest. Reluctantly and remorsefully, Hunter severed the connection to Sunstreaker's original head, deactivating him. Maximum Dinobots issue 4 Hunter, however, stayed conscious and survived the rest of the battle. He accompanied Sunstreaker aboard the Ark-32, where the comatose Autobot was put into a CR chamber for heavy repairs. Sunstreaker's original head was reattached, and his battered body was rebuilt into a slightly different form. Ratchet claimed that "though physically separated, Sunstreaker's spark sustained him". Ratchet was able to minimize the mental link between Sunstreaker and Hunter, but he was afraid to try removing Hunter's implants, and the human was left feeling like half of himself was missing. However, he still enjoyed a happy reunion with Verity and Jimmy. Maximum Dinobots issue 5

Eventually Ratchet did successfully sever their link, but the Headmaster experience had left deep wounds on Sunstreaker's psyche. He turned his back on Hunter and never wanted to speak of the incident again. All Hail Megatron issue 7 In fact, Sunstreaker eventually helped Starscream in a plot that, while intended to result in Megatron's death, had the side-effect of banishing the Autobots from Earth. Sunstreaker had hoped that all the humans would die under Decepticon rule, but Hunter's actual fate was arguably worse: He was victim to Bombshell's experiments, half-dissected in a lab. Numerous cables streamed in and out of his torso; even his right eye socket had a tube coming out of it. His expression was of slack-jawed horror, and he looked very much like Sunstreaker did under the Machination's experiments. All Hail Megatron issue 8 Somehow Bombshell was able to use Hunter's hybrid body to create a "hub" that helped the Decepticons find the Autobots and deactivate their defenses. All Hail Megatron issue 10

When the Autobots returned to Earth and fought the Decepticons, Bombshell taunted Sideswipe by claiming to have toyed with Sunstreaker's mind using information gleaned from dissecting Hunter. After the battle ended with the Decepticons driven away, Sideswipe found Hunter in Bombshell's lab, still attached to the machinery and barely alive. Sideswipe turned off the life-support and allowed Hunter to expire. All Hail Megatron issue 12

Hail and Farewell
Two years after meeting the Autobots and becoming a Headmaster, Hunter went back to his house with Sunstreaker. As Hunter gathered a few effects, he reminisced on his scattered, mostly-dead family, and on how much had happened to him. He had been to other planets, even another dimension. He'd fought Scorponok, allied with the Dinobots, and faced a planetary Decepticon invasion. And now he wasn't just Hunter; he had become one with Sunstreaker in both mind and body. As he converted back to Sunstreaker's head, he mused that it was true what they said about never being able to go home again. Hail and Farewell

Notes
* As a character, Hunter was clearly meant for a bigger and better destiny than he ended up receiving. Writer and creator Simon Furman set him up as an audience-surrogate, the eyes through which the world of the Transformers was revealed. The affable young protagonist in over his head, Hunter's tale began to reflect the archetypal heroic journey, particularly the belly-of-the-whale experience of being kidnapped and experimented upon, which he escaped by bravely subverting his captors with his newfound powers and emerging as the first Autobot-human hybrid. A hint of Furman's designs was seen in the flash-forward "Hail and Farewell" Mosaic, which showed Hunter acknowledging that he and his world had changed irreversibly, listing a series of grand accomplishments, and achieving a literal and figurative union with his own elevated state. Unfortunately, all of this would be cut short (and the flash-forward entirely negated) by a new writer who decided it would be cooler to make both Hunter and his partner in mythic ascendancy suffer protractedly and die.
10:16, 24 April 2009 (EDT)
Before the war, Blurr was an erudite and well-spoken lecturer. Since then, however, he's traded in his tidy look for the musk of a bloodthirsty warrior. This doesn't mean he's any less of an intellectual, however, and Optimus Prime puts Blurr to good use as a data interceptor. Of the utmost importance to him is retrieving stolen images of upcoming Decepticon prototypes, which he uses to gain an advantage over his surprised opponents. Also, as his name suggests, he's quite fast on both his feet and wheels. This is due to his special ability to steal kinetic energy, as it saps on object's (or, more often, an enemy's) speed, and adds it to his own, if only temporarily. He must, however, time the activation of this ability correctly, depending on the object he's stealing the energy from (like a laser blast), or else he could wind up with major, if not fatal, damage.

His cousin, Crasher, is regrettably on the side of his heroic enemies.
As Cliffjumper was being "re"introduced to the Autobots in Iacon, Blurr was among the few standing guard around the smelting pool. He laughed with the others when Optimus Prime shot Cliffjumper and ordered him dumped in the Empties.

Later, as Prime was training with hard-light constructs, Blurr gave an update on the construction of the Ark they were constructing to conquer other worlds, and warned that the Decepticons were planning to mount an attack. Prime laughed off this news.
Later, when Rodimus suggested that they launch the Ark without Optimus Prime, Blurr objected. Goldbug agreed with Rodimus that Optimus' obsession with Megatron had impaired his leadership abilities. Blurr was thrown overboard along with the rest of the Optimus loyalists when the Ark launched. Interestingly enough, he is a retool of a retool, as his head is not the same as Cybertron Blurr's, merely a directly "evil" version of Generation 1 Blurr. Inserting his Cyber Key into the space under Blurr's spoiler causes the rear side panels of his vehicle mode to flip down into a "flight mode". This mode also makes his twin spring-loaded missile launchers available, which become hand-held weapons in robot mode.
While on the run from Sixshot, the Throttlebots come across a mysterious Cybertronian ghost town.

Synopsis
The Throttlebots are stationed on the Orvus Base laboratory orbiting Salvvatan VI, serving as couriers for a top-secret research project, when the base is attacked and destroyed by Sixshot. They escape in a ship as the only survivors of the attack — with Sixshot in hot pursuit — eventually making their way to Salvvatan VIII, which they are surprised to discover has signs of Cybertronian life. They land and make their way into the giant city on the planet, hoping to find someone who can help.

But as they drive through the city they discover it's eerily empty, though there's still supplies of energon available. Their searching and scavenging is eventually cut short when Sixshot catches up with them, and he promises that if they hand over the information on the destroyed lab's research he'll give them a merciful death. The Throttlebots decide to transform and make a break for it again, and Sixshot chases after them.

His robot mode blasters send Chase crashing hard into a wall. He transforms into his tank mode and lands on Freeway, running him over and crushing him, then blasts Wide Load with his turrets. He returns to robot mode and hauls the injured Freeway up, asking him if he's going to talk. All Freeway can do is groan in pain, so he tosses the Throttlebot aside and addresses the remaining three, telling them to come out and face him.

As the three follow his command, Searchlight asks how Sixshot can be back to normal again when he last saw the Decepticon as a zombie on Bhul's moon. Sixshot explains that he traded some of Jhiaxus' technology — specifically the space bridge schematics and failsafe overrides — to Megatron in return for being restored to his normal self.

The Throttlebots tell Sixshot they're determined to go down fighting, and Sixshot starts to boast about how that will cost them, when Rollbar transforms and sideswipes Sixshot's leg, knocking him off balance. Sixshot grabs onto the Throttlebot with a hand, and Rollbar pulls Sixshot along behind him before deliberately crashing them both hard into a wall.

The impact causes an alarm to sound, with a voice calling out about an intruder alert and perimeter breach. Sixshot is distracted and confused for a moment, prompting Searchlight and Goldbug to try to get the jump on him. But the unimpressed Sixshot quickly rounds on and shoots both of them. He then approaches Searchlight and is about to finish him off with a close range headshot when a giant arm emerges from an opening in the city and pounds Sixshot into the ground. To Searchlight's amazement, Sixshot not only survives the impact but manages to stand up again, only to have the city — really Metroplex — transform into robot mode and step on him.

As Searchlight, Goldbug, and Rollbar recover and stare up in amazement at the giant city-bot, Metroplex states that his position has been compromised and they all need to leave. When Rollbar asks why, Metroplex explains that they need to hide, that since they found him there will be others who will come. Rollbar protests that there's a war going on, and that they need Metroplex's help, but the city-bot simply looks away sadly and tells them where they can find a shuttle and supplies. When Goldbug asks what kind of Autobot would abandon his own, Metroplex explains that he has a mission to protect "it", then transforms into a gigantic space vessel and takes off.

As the three Throttlebots head off to try and find the rest of their little group, they speculate what "it" might be. Searchlight has a theory, but refuses to share any details, much to Rollbar's irritation. Meanwhile, back in the impact crater of Metroplex's initial stomp, the crushed and battered Sixshot clenches one of his outstretched hands into a fist...
:Skid-Z is an Autobot in the Robots in Disguise continuity family.

Skid-Z is really fast and really competitive. Some would say compulsively competitive. This intense drive for victory was greatly heightened after he arrived on Earth to join Optimus Prime's forces, but he's back to normal again.

:Voice actor: Michael Lindsay (English), Jin Nishimura (Japanese)

After arriving on Earth, Skid-Z scanned an F-1 race car once belonging to the legendary (and now dead) driver Auggie Cahnay for his vehicle mode. Cahnay had joked that he was in the car so much that it had taken on his personality—a statement that rang bizarrely true when Skid-Z was possessed by Cahnay's residual psychotropic energy, apparently a result of Skid-Z forgetting to purge the vehicle with a high-frequency wave pulse before scanning it. Thereafter, Skid-Z began behaving increasingly erratically.

Whenever he saw a race, he instinctively joined it—never officially signing up for them, of course, which got Prowl on his tail when he illegally entered the European Europa 400 race. He won the race, but Prowl ended up in a pile of hay bales for his troubles.

This single-mindedness quickly became a source of personal embarrassment for Skid-Z as he found himself outracing grade schoolers and the tortoise & the hare. Although he was aware enough of his situation to realize he was having problems, he was unable to do anything about them.

Skid-Z soon found himself in battle with Sky-Byte after he rebuffed the poetic Predacon's offer of power amongst Megatron's troops. The fight didn't last long—after dodging Sky-Byte's Tsunami Blaster attack, Skid-Z heard the start of a foot race, and ran off to join it.

Meanwhile, T-AI, having researched Skid-Z's scanner log, learned the cause of his affliction and realized it would only get worse if he wasn't brought to base and decontaminated. As the Autobots debated what to do, Koji voiced that he had studied Cahnay's background and determined that Skid-Z would next show up at the International Grand Prix, a free-for-all race for all kinds of wheeled vehicles—a race that Cahnay had never been able to win. Seeing the logic in Koji's words, Optimus Prime instructed all available personnel to join the race.

Skid-Z didn't show up until the race was well underway. Most of the other Autobots had been taken out of the race by Megatron—and those few remaining (Optimus Prime, Prowl, Side Burn and X-Brawn) were trapped underneath a giant boulder, which would crush them when their strength ran out.

Optimus transmitted a call to Skid-Z for help. He was in the lead—he could win the race. He WANTED to win the race... didn't he? Skid-Z's desire to win struggled with his Autobot conscience. He had to make a choice—and so he did. Skid-Z drove back and saved his comrades, then helped them to beat Megatron away.

With evil vanquished for the day, Skid-Z rejoined the International Grand Prix, coming in first place. Finally, it was all over! He felt normal! He... mistook Koji's watch alarm for a starting signal, and was off again, eventually ending up in Africa looking for a race. Oh well. Prime knew he'd be back—sooner or later. Skid Z's Choice

And it was later... much, much later. When all Autobots were assembled for a counter-strike against their advancing enemies, Skid-Z fought in the final battle against the Predacon/Decepticon forces. Surprise Attack!

In the Autobots' last visit to Earth following the total defeat of Galvatron and his Decepticons, he was racing with the Spy Changers, and T-AI yelled at him to slow down as he bashed his comrades aside to win. The Final Battle (RID)

*According to the Robots In Disguise cartoon, Skid-Z's name is pronounced "Skids," rather than "Skid-Zee" or "Skid-Zed".

*While Skid-Z knew of the Autobots' strategy in case their base was found, his long absence from the main events of the series (having been gone from episode 11 to 36) does seem to imply he spent all of the intervening time looking for a race.
**Accessories: Thruster-cannon, flame-missile

: Rodimus is a redeco of Deluxe-class Classics Rodimus with a color scheme similar to Titanium Series Menasor, using glittery-black plastic with gray and clear-red. He comes with Megatron and Rampage as a bagged set, limited to 1100 pieces as a 2008 souvenir set.

:Rodimus transforms into a into a heavily-altered black, purple and silver Dome Zero. His rear-mounted thruster engine becomes a hand-held weapon in robot mode, launching a spring-loaded missile. His left arm also hides a flip-out "comm unit" that is clearly supposed to be the buzzsaw his Generation 1 counterpart used for a brief period in the Movie. The deco has a different pattern for the flames than his Classics counterpart, and also features a new paint application on his robot-mode face to accommodate his beard.

: This mold was also used to make the rather-similar-looking Gentei! Gentei! Wildrider.
Trivia
* Rodimus's speech and mannerisms are modeled after Vinnie Barbarino, the smart-mouthed teen-heartthrob from Welcome Back, Kotter, played by John Travolta. This is, presumably, a roundabout homage to the fact that Generation 1 Hot Rod was voiced by Judd Nelson, who also played a smart-mouthed teen-heartthrob, in The Breakfast Club.
