Befriending these children, he introduces his crew of Autobots to them. The children aid Prime as he leads his crew around the world, searching for the long-lost Mini-Con Transformers, before the Decepticon forces can take them and use them for their own evil deeds - such as powering the massive [[Hydra Cannon]], which Prime dies trying to stop. {{Storylink|Crisis}}

Under the leadership of Hot Shot, the other Autobots make their way back to Cybertron, and Prime is resurrected along the way. There is little time to rejoice, as before long, the Autobots and Decepticons must both face the arrival of the great destroyer, [[Unicron]].

After Unicron's apparent defeat, both Optimus Prime and Galvatron succumb to their base natures and have one last battle within the Chaos Bringer. Fighting each other to a standstill, both are surprised when Unicron suddenly comes back to life, feeding off their hate for each other. Galvatron is drawn towards Unicron's maw, with Prime holding onto his tank treads, telling him to hold on. His Decepticon nemesis then makes the decision to sacrifice his life, giving Prime a final victory, so that Unicron may be destroyed and their race will survive.

His hep lingo sometimes loses those cats he chooses to groove with. Can you dig?

Lugnutz was one of the many Cybertrons who arrived on [[Earth]] on the starship ''[[Atlantis]]''. At some point he and many others went rogue, and were hunted down and imprisoned by the [[Autobot]]s [[Crosswise (Cybertron)|Crosswise]] and [[Evac]]. Re-awakened by [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]], he and Thunderblast guarded the volcano island base from both the invading Autobot forces and Megatron's troops, but Lugnutz soon decided that this gig was nowheresville. He and several other Decepticons took off for parts unknown.

Lugnutz and his fellow renegade Decepticons returned to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] at Evac's behest when [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]] threatened to use the [[Omega Lock]] and the four [[Cyber Planet Key]]s to accelerate the growth of the [[Unicron Singularity]] and destroy the universe. They joined the Autobots and Decepticons from the various worlds to fight the super-sized Decepticons under Galvatron's command. Lugnutz attempted to talk Thunderblast out of her allegiance with Galvatron, but to no avail.

After Galvatron's destruction, Lugnutz convinced his former foe Evac to join the exploration mission to build the universe-spanning [[Space Bridge]]. He joined Evac and [[Backstop]]'s crew on the reconstructed ancient starship ''[[Hyperborea]]'', taking the [[Jungle Planet]]'s Cyber Planet Key with them.
