'''A prophecy predicts dark times ahead, which Megatron intends to see through.'''

==Synopsis==
[[Image:OneShallFall-MegatronKnockOut.jpg|left|thumb|300px|Miiiight not be the best time to examine your manicure, Knock Out.]]

[[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Optimus Prime]] recites a passage from the [[Covenant of Primus]], foretelling that a perpetual conflict will culminate when the forty-seven spheres align. Despite the other [[Autobot]]s' lack of faith, [[Ratchet (Prime)|Ratchet]] realizes that the "world forged of chaos" referred to in the prophecy is [[Earth]]—and that the alignment will occur in a matter of days.

Aboard the ''[[Nemesis (Prime)|Nemesis]]'', [[Megatron (Prime)|Megatron]] explains to [[Knock Out (Prime)|Knock Out]] that he sought the [[Dark Energon|blood]] of [[Unicron]] so that he could conquer worlds with [[Terrorcon (Prime)|undead armies]]. Knock Out assures him that more Dark Energon awaits amongst the stars, but advises him not to push himself, since he was in stasis. Megatron then claims that he is the "rising darkness" of which the prophecy speaks.

[[Jack Darby|Jack]], [[Raf Esquivel|Raf]], and [[Miko Nakadai|Miko]] find a picture of [[Bumblebee (Prime)|Bumblebee]] while searching a conspiracy website. Raf replaces the image with a dancing cat, which makes Ratchet laugh. Jack then invites Optimus to take a look, but is flatly denied. Ratchet then states that, before he became a [[Prime (rank)|Prime]], Optimus behaved quite similarly to Jack. [[William Fowler|Agent Fowler]] suddenly interrupts and reveals that the [[Decepticon]]s have been stealing components to build a second [[space bridge]]. Back aboard the ''Nemesis'', Knock Out and [[Soundwave (Prime)|Soundwave]] inform Megatron that the only item left on the list is an ample power source, which can be found in a heavily fortified human base. [[Airachnid]] could simply tunnel in, but Megatron rather angrily declares that the time for stealth is over, and he sends a massive squad of [[Vehicon (Prime)|Vehicons]] to retrieve it. Optimus warns Fowler to have his troops evacuate, for fear of human casualties.

[[Image:PrimeEp23-BumblebeeRaf.jpg|right|thumb|300px|Where is your BS&P now???]]

Optimus, [[Bulkhead (Prime)|Bulkhead]], and [[Arcee (Prime)|Arcee]] arrive to fend off the Vehicons, and all goes well until Megatron himself heads out toward the battlefield. En route, he spots Bumblebee, who was taking Raf racing. Megatron opens fire, frying Bumblebee's systems and knocking Raf out cold. Megatron arrives at the base just as the Autobots disable the last of his drones, and he taunts Optimus as Bumblebee arrives whilst carrying a wounded Raf. Bulkhead restrains the enraged scout before Optimus orders Arcee to take him and Raf back to base. Megatron then ascends onto the ''Nemesis'' with the power source. Unbeknownst to Megatron, Optimus and Bulkhead climb aboard the ''Nemesis''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s hull.

Back at [[Autobot Outpost Omega One]], Ratchet panics that his tools are wrong for human examination, and Jack suggests that they call in [[June Darby|his mother]]. Meanwhile, Megatron has another vision in which he sees a [[Unicron|sinister face]] and a volcano. He then orders Knock Out and Airachnid to complete the space bridge, as there is something he must attend to. June arrives at the Autobot base and quickly unnerves Ratchet with the knowledge that Raf will die unless she can stabilize him immediately. Bumblebee vents his frustration on a nearby wall, but Arcee manages to calm him...a little. Ratchet regrets having not bothered to learn human science and medicine, despite accepting the children into their lives. He then states that he has grown to need Rafael, just as Raf needs him.

Bulkhead and Optimus storm the ''Nemesis'', and Optimus claims to have had a change of heart: He orders Bulkhead back to base with the power source, declaring that there is something he must do. He then muses grimly that he has realized that Autobots and Decepticons will never co-exist peacefully, and he vows to destroy Megatron.

As the planetary alignment nears, Megatron arrives at the volcano site, and Optimus uses a Vehicon comm link to challenge him. Optimus soon joins him at the base of the volcano, and the two exchange brief banter before engaging each other in fierce battle.

[[Image:PrimeEp23-PrimeMegatron.jpg|left|thumb|300px|"Why throw away your life so recklessly?" <br> "I keep [[The many deaths of Optimus Prime|''trying'']] to, but Hasbro won't [[To sell toys|let me]] anymore!"]]

Meanwhile, Ratchet realizes that Raf has been infected with [[Dark Energon]] and theorizes that exposure to normal energon should cure him. He takes a sample from Bumblebee, placing Raf in a sealed chamber to test his theory as the others watch helplessly. Rafael soon opens his eyes, his pulse stabilizing.

Optimus appears to defeat Megatron and prepares to deal the final blow, but the Decepticon leader catches his sword with unusual strength as the volcano begins to erupt. Strange purple markings glow to life across his body, and he quickly overpowers Optimus. He realizes that the volcano is spewing forth Dark Energon, and he moves to kill Optimus, as he saw himself doing in a previous vision.
"And it was written in the Covenant of Primus that 'when the 47 spheres align, a perpetual conflict will culminate upon a world forged from chaos. And the weak shall perish in the shadow of a rising darkness.'"

"I have been foolish not to see what history has proven over and over again...that Autobots and Decepticons will never mend their ways. If there can be no diplomatic solution to this perpetual conflict, then I must not allow more darkness to fall upon this or any planet. Megatron must be destroyed!"

==Notes==
===Animation and technical errors===
* When the flying Vehicons arrive to help retrieve the power source from the military base, the Vehicon ground units which stole it in the first place vanish.
* When Megatron arrives at the volcano, the points of his helmet disappear through his neck armor.
* As Megatron extends his blade when Optimus leaps at him, the sound effect is that of his cannon firing.
* When Optimus tries to strike the finishing blow, he's standing on Megatron's chest. Once Megatron catches the blade, Optimus is standing much further back.

===Continuity errors===
*Megatron's jet-mode cannons score a direct hit on Bumblebee, yet do no apparent damage other than briefly stopping him. When Arcee was hit in "[[Darkness Rising, Part 5]]", it nearly killed her. On a similar note, Bumblebee should have taken the brunt of the Dark Energon exposure, but only Raf shows any symptoms. Arcee was weakened by exposure to a few drops from [[Cliffjumper (Prime)|Cliffjumper]]'s animated corpse in "[[Darkness Rising, Part 2]]". However, Optimus tells Arcee to look after Raf AND Bumblebee; its likely that Bee's just being strong for his partner's sake.
*Bumblebee knows Raf is injured, so why does he drive nearly two miles (three clicks) to the battlefield instead of just calling for a [[GroundBridge]] immediately?
*Raf says he can't see without his glasses in "[[Shadowzone (episode)|Shadowzone]]", but his first person shot is perfectly clear. This is a common thing for TV and movies, but still...

===Continuity notes===
*Megatron refers to his feeling by saying "it's as if" he can hear Unicron's thoughts, which he gibbered about back in "[[Darkness Rising, Part 3]]".
*The story revolves around the idea that Dark Energon is out in space, another "Darkness Rising" plot point. Turns out that it's not as far out as the characters think...
*Agent Fowler's men at first thought it was [[MECH]] who stole the phase conductor until they found the security image of Soundwave.
*[[Starscream (Prime)|Starscream]] demonstrated that energon does not agree with human physiology in "[[Darkness Rising, Part 3]]" and "[[Darkness Rising, Part 4|Part 4]]", which Ratchet confirms here. Apparently, Dark Energon has similar effects, but the two types cancel each other out (at least in a human).
*Arcee tells Bumblebee that she knows what it's like to see a partner <strike>killed</strike> harmed, referring to [[Tailgate (Prime)|Tailgate]]'s death at Airachnid's claws in "[[Predatory]]". Her general speech seems to call back to the lesson she learned at the end of "[[Partners]]". Ironically, Bumblebee was the one who prevented Arcee from giving into her desire for vengeance in that episode.
*Ratchet extracts energon from Bumblebee with the same device that he used to inject himself with synthetic energon in [[Stronger, Faster|the previous episode]].

===Transformers references===
[[Image:Tfprime23 unicron.jpg|right|thumb|Hey look, it's Unicron! Wait, why does he have Cyclonus's helmet horns?]]
* The [[Covenant of Primus]] first appeared in the ''[[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' episode "[[Nemesis Part 1]]".
* Megatron and Optimus punch each other in the style of the opening credits, only on opposite sides. This isn't [[Sick Mind|the first time]] the show has done this.
* Yeah, yeah, "[[The Transformers: The Movie|One shall stand, one shall fall]]." This is the third time in this series alone, following "[[Darkness Rising, Part 5]]" and "[[Sick Mind]]", and that's not even including the title of THIS episode. Megatron even completes the saying for Optimus, he's heard it plenty of times by now.
* Ratchet mentions that he has known Optimus for longer than any of the other Earth-stationed Autobots, even before he was a Prime. Taking the character's appearance in ''[[Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)|War for Cybertron]]'' into account, this would be true, as Ratchet was under the direct command of Optimus prior to, and at the start of the game's storyline. In comparison, the first cutscene of the Autobot campaign showed Bumblebee's first meeting with Optimus, and whilst Arcee was in the game, she never personally interacted with Optimus during the story. Bulkhead was mentioned as having joined Optimus during a later period of time.
* Megatron refers to Optimus as "the last of the Primes". He was also called this by the head of the [[Autobot High Council]] in ''War for Cybertron'', upon his ascension to the rank of Prime. It is also a term used to refer to his [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|live-action film]] counterpart.
*Megatron breaks Prime's sword in the same way as in "[[Darkness Rising, Part 5]]." Seriously, it's like they just reused the broken sword model or something. Except it got lodged in Prime's shoulder this time instead of flying off and sticking in the ground.
*This is not the frist time that a Meagtron has shot a Bumblebee with a human partner inside "[[Autobot Spike|only this time they didn't put him in an autobot body]]"

===Real-world references===
*The picture on the conspiracy website of a supposed alien looking through a window is a reference to the famed "Denver Alien" sighting where a man called Jeff Peckman claimed he filmed an extra-terrestrial outside of his home.

===Trivia===
* The episode was first broadcast on Canada's Teletoon channel. It later first aired in the United States on [[September 24]], [[2011]].
* At the beginning of the episode, as Megatron explains why he sought out the blood of Unicron, Knock Out totally checks out his "nails" in the background. How vain can you get?!
* Megatron laments that the only shard of Dark Energon he has is the one in his chest. It would seem that, despite his machinations being discovered, Starscream never gave Megatron's original shard back.
* Bulkhead states that he has never seen Optimus "laugh, cry or lose his cool". While it could just be an offhand expression, this inadvertently raises an interesting question as to whether Cybertronians actually have the ability to cry...[[Humanization#Crying|hmmmmmmmm]].
* Ratchet tells the kids that the title of Prime can only be earned, not inherited or born into. This is the inverse of what [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|a different Optimus]] told [[Megatron (Movie)|his archenemy]] in [[Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen|a different universe]].
* This is the first time in the series an Autobot weaponizes a part of their vehicle mode—in this case, Optimus's wheels on his legs.
*Ratchet actually LAUGHS in this episode, and at a cartoon space cat, of all things!

==Notes==
===Animation and technical errors===

===Continuity errors===

===Continuity notes===

*This is not the frist time that "[[Meagtron|G1]]" has shot a "[[Bumblebee|G1]]" with a human partner inside "[[Autobot Spike|only this time they didn't put him in an autobot body]]"
===Trivia===
'''A prophecy predicts dark times ahead, which Megatron intends to see through.'''
==Synopsis==

Unbeknownst to Megatron, Optimus and Bulkhead climb aboard the ''Nemesis''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s hull.

"Um, Optimus! You wanna see something funny?"<br>
"No."
:—'''Jack''' learns of '''Optimus Prime'''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s minimal sense of humor.

"Does he seem to be...'losing it'?"<br>
"A bit..."
:—'''Knock Out''' and '''Airachnid''' discuss Megatron's state of mind.

"I have been foolish not to see what history has proven over and over again...that Autobots and Decepticons will never mend their ways. If there can be no diplomatic solution to this perpetual conflict, then I must not allow more darkness to fall upon this or any planet. Megatron must be destroyed!"
:—It's about slaggin' time, '''Optimus Prime'''.

"Your defeat was foreseen here by the ancients. What was it they wrote? 'The weak shall perish'?"<br>
"Do not believe everything you read."
:—'''Megatron''' and '''Optimus Prime''', unusually philosophical in the middle of a death match.

==Notes==
===Animation and technical errors===

===Continuity errors===

===Continuity notes===

===Transformers references===
*This is not the frist time taht meagtron Has shot a bumblebee with a human partner inside "[[Autobot Spike|only this time they didn't put him in an autobot body]]"

===Real-world references===
*The picture on the conspiracy website of a supposed alien looking through a window is a reference to the famed "Denver Alien" sighting where a man called Jeff Peckman claimed he filmed an extra-terrestrial outside of his home.
===Trivia===
'''A team of Rescue Bots is assigned by Optimus Prime to work with the Burns family on the island of Griffin Rock'''.

==Synopsis==
Somewhere in space, a drifting Autobot spaceship receives a message from [[Optimus Prime (RB)|Optimus Prime]] directing them to [[Earth]]. The ship automatically changes course and eventually touches down in a military base. The four members of [[Rescue Force Sigma-17]] emerge and are greeted by Optimus himself, who informs them that [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] is no longer the [[Autobot]]s' home.

On the island of [[Griffin Rock]], [[Cody Burns]] is biking to school when his [[Charlie Burns|dad]] pulls up alongside in the old police car, which is soon to be replaced with a new car as part of the town's function as a hi-tech testing ground. Cody wants to test drive the new vehicles, but the rest of his family points out they're for grown-ups.

Optimus tells the new arrivals that he has a new mission for them: to live with a [[human]] family and learn more about Earth, but they must do so disguised as normal machines. He gives them rescue vehicles to [[scanning|scan]], though [[Blades (RB)|Blades]] is unenthusiastic when he discovers the [[alternate mode]] he's ended up with flies. Optimus introduces them to Chief Charlie Burns, the only human who knows the [[Rescue Bots]]' true nature.

That afternoon, Cody arrives at the dedication, where he meets [[Frankie Greene]] and her father, [[Doc Greene]], in the audience, though Frankie's more interested in the new exhibit of robot dinosaurs at the [[Griffin Rock Natural History Museum|museum]]. Chief Burns introduces the gathered crowd to the Rescue Bots, describing them as new hi-tech robots which will work with him and his family as a rescue response unit. When a butterfly lands on [[Boulder]]'s face, the Autobot instinctively goes to shoo it away, but is stopped by [[Heatwave (RB)|Heatwave]]. However, Cody's suspicions are already raised. When Cody jumps up and knocks on Boulder's foot, he's told to get lost by [[Huxley Prescott|a reporter]]. The press photos are interrupted when word comes in of a fire at the Natural History Museum.

Burns and his rescue squad head to the museum, although [[Dani Burns|Dani]] discovers her helicopter doesn't seem to like flying too high. [[Chase (RB)|Chase]] begins clearing the humans from the area, though is confused when a couple of Egyptian mummies fail to comply. [[Graham Burns|Graham]] is bemused when he tells Boulder to move some planters and the Autobot responds that it would ruin the aesthetics. They manage to get the fire out, and Graham locates the cause: a short in one of the robotic dinosaurs. While he's fixing it, Cody sneaks into the museum, having followed the team on his bike. He's therefore present to witness Heatwave saving Chief Burns and Graham from a falling dinosaur head. Burns explains it as Heatwave having been left in rescue mode, and [[Kade Burns|Kade]] is glad to take the credit. As they leave the museum, the eyes on a short-circuiting animatronic ''Tyrannosaurus rex'' light up ominously!

That night, back in the fire station, the Rescue Bots take a lift down to a Cold War bunker underneath the station. Upstairs, Cody excuses himself from dinner with his family and heads downstairs, where he catches the Rescue Bots complaining about their new gig. Heatwave has just decided they're going to leave when Cody speaks up. The Rescue Bots realize their cover is blown, but after introductions are made, Cody shows them that there are many tunnels leading around the island from the bunker. They check out a giant robot movie at a drive in, and Cody attempts to teach the Rescue Bots how to act like "real" robots as well as give them tips on dealing with his siblings. Lessons are brought to a halt when they spot the robotic ''T. rex'' from the museum, now rampaging along the street. As it moves into the drive-in, Cody gets Chase to start his lights, and they establish the thing is attracted to light. They begin leading the creature to a safe area while Cody contacts his dad.

Burns takes the rest of his family in the old squad car, and they soon catch up with the Rescue Bots as the chase moves outside town. While they try to work out how to deal with the rogue dinosaur, Cody calls Frankie. Soon Boulder is extracting a jail cell from the police station, which Dani and Blades fly to the scene. Meanwhile, Chase keeps the ''T. rex'' occupied, and Kade and Heatwave wet some ground to make mud. Kade is shocked when Heatwave transforms, attracts the dinosaur's attention, and then throws it into the mud. Dani lowers the makeshift cage over it, allowing Cody to shut the dinosaur down.

The next day, they return the dinosaur to the museum, and Burns decides to get a picture of "his heroes" outside. After Heatwave tells Kade that Cody's part of the team or the Rescue Bots leave, Chief Burns reveals that they're not just robots, they're aliens.
'''A team of Rescue Bots is assigned by Optimus Prime to work with the Burns family on the island of Griffin Rock'''.

==Synopsis==

Dani lowers the makeshift cage over it, allowing Cody to shut the dinosaur down.

The next day, they return the dinosaur to the museum, and Burns decides to get a picture of "his heroes" outside. :''Black Shadow is a [[Decepticon]] [[Crossformer]] from the [[Generation 1 continuity family]].''
Hailing from somewhere beyond the Milky Way [[galaxy]], '''Black Shadow''' (ブラックシャドー ''Burakku Shadō'') is a vile gangster whose skills in robbery, extortion and murder are available to anyone who can meet his price. He is loyal only to the highest bidder; even the Decepticons are loath to work with him that often, as they can never be sure he won't betray them in mid-job if he gets a better offer. In jet mode, he can devastate buildings around him with powerful sonic shockwaves by breaking the sound barrier while flying at low altitudes, a technique he calls his "Sonic Boomer Attack".

His partner in crime is [[Blue Bacchus]], a gunman with a similar personality and moral fiber who looks up to him. The pair's partnership has made them infamous throughout space, and there is a massive bounty on their heads, but Black Shadow would actually kill Blue Bacchus without remorse if the situation demanded it.

He is also known as '''Sky Shadow'''.

Black Shadow and his partner, [[Blue Bacchus]], were hired by [[Hellbat (Victory)|Hellbat]] of the [[Breastforce]] to help him loot Planet [[Micro]] of all its energon. While the Crossformers caused massive panic and destruction, Hellbat got a clear run at the energy reserves. The incredible size and power of the Crossformers, especially on a world full of [[Micromaster]]s, made their mission relatively easy, until Governor [[Riker]] called in [[Star Saber (Victory)|Star Saber]] to help. When the Autobot commander arrived to stop the villains during their attack on the [[plasma energy]] plant that provided Micro with a third of all its energy, Black Shadow informed Hellbat that he would need to triple their pay for them to risk their hides in battle with the legendary Star Saber. [[Image:PlanetMicro menacing Crossformers.jpg|right|thumb|250px|He's space gangstering you with his space gun, making you a space offer you can't space refuse!]] Hellbat grudgingly agreed, but before the two Crossformers could attack Star Saber, they themselves were attacked by Saber's ally, their former partner in crime, [[Greatshot]], who had reformed and joined the Autobots. At first, the pair seemed to have the six-changer on the ropes, until he used his "Disappearing Dust" technique to get the drop on them and destroy their guns. The pair proved to be no match for Greatshot with their bladed weapons, and he destroyed their outer shells, forcing them to retreat in their small vehicle modes, vowing revenge. Hellbat joined them in retreat, without any energy to show for his trouble, but the Crossformers insisted that he would still be paying them. {{storylink|Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior}}
[[Image:BlackShadowHubcap_GoneTooFar.jpg|thumb|left|300px|Right here, his inner robot has already appeared as often as [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]]'s.]]
Black Shadow was a resident of [[Axiom Nexus]], performing manual labor for [[Cryotek (TransTech)|Cryotek]] at [[The Blue Deployer]] and... other work as came up from time to time. When [[Gutcruncher (G1)|Gutcruncher]] started stirring up the Offworlder population for a revolt against the [[Transcendent Technomorph|TransTechs]], Black Shadow was hired to eliminate the rabble-rouser. At Gutcruncher's rally, Black Shadow assassinated the mech with a photon charge through the central cortex, killing him instantly. Also, thanks to his stealth field and deliberate positioning, he was able to frame two newly arrived Autobots named [[Jackpot (G1)|Jackpot]] and [[Hubcap (G1)|Hubcap]] for the murder.

Black Shadow monitored the patsies to make sure they didn't implicate him somehow, and he was overjoyed when they "showed" their guilt by escaping from the police. Taking advantage of the situation, Black Shadow planned to execute the duo to cover his tracks and collect on the bounty Gutcruncher's pals had taken out on the "assassins". He gloated openly about his schemes to the two Autobots, until they split up and scampered, hoping he couldn't follow them both. Well, he could—Black Shadow split from his [[Crossformer]] shell and took off after both Autobots. However, Hubcap ultimately outsmarted the Decepticon. The little Autobot used his speakers to draw as much attention as possible to their chase. Then, when Gutcruncher's flunky [[Dirge (Timelines)|Dirge]] and a pack of [[Malignus (G1)|Malignus Revolutionaries]] responded, Hubcap played back a recording of Black Shadow's gloating admission of the crime for all to hear. One more fancy bit of wordplay tricked the Crossformer into admitting his photon charges killed Gutcruncher, and the verdict was in. The Malignus Revolutionary Army and their [[Gigantion]] buddy [[Menasor (Cybertron)|Menasor]] ended Black Shadow's existence very quickly. At the same time, a mysterious capsule of [[Scraplet]] digestive acid went off in Black Shadow's shell, saving Jackpot's life and preventing any information from being recovered from the shell's CPU. Black Shadow's own head (and therefore his datatrax) also went missing in the melee after his death...almost as if someone were covering their tracks... {{storylink|Gone Too Far}}
He transforms into a fighter jet. The zigzag patterns sculpted on the hull are characteristic of American stealth technology which relies on a lack of right angles in structural design in order to foil radar detection. The nose of the jet can detach and become a separate aerial drone, while the two missile launchers can detach from the wings and become hand-held weapons or clip together into one massive gun. The middle section of the sculpted missiles on the sides of the guns are also compatible with [[C joint]] accessories.
The [[Misconceptions and urban legends about Transformers|common misconception]] that he is a member of the "Space Mafia" is due to a mistranslation some years ago in which "gangster" was interpreted as "Mafia". Big difference.
* The Crossformers' ID numbers are actually a huge jump ''backwards'' in the numbering system. The other ''Victory'' Decepticons' numbers start at D-322. However, Shadow and Bacchus' numbers put them right in the middle of the ''[[Super-God Masterforce (toyline)|Super-God Masterforce]]'' Decepticons' numbers, between 1988's [[Browning]] and [[Scorponok (G1)|BlackZarak]], even though the Crossformers were released in 1989. [[Image:G1 BlackShadow boxart.jpg|right|325px|thumb|Some people call me the Space Gangster/Some call me the Cowboy of Love...]]

Black Shadow and his partner, [[Blue Bacchus]], were hired by [[Hellbat (Victory)|Hellbat]] of the [[Breastforce]] to help him loot Planet [[Micro]] of all its energon. While the Crossformers caused massive panic and destruction, Hellbat got a clear run at the energy reserves. The incredible size and power of the Crossformers, especially on a world full of [[Micromaster]]s, made their mission relatively easy, until Governor [[Riker]] called in [[Star Saber (Victory)|Star Saber]] to help. When the Autobot commander arrived to stop the villains during their attack on the [[plasma energy]] plant that provided Micro with a third of all its energy, Black Shadow informed Hellbat that he would need to triple their pay for them to risk their hides in battle with the legendary Star Saber. [[Image:PlanetMicro menacing Crossformers.jpg|right|thumb|250px|He's space gangstering you with his space gun, making you a space offer you can't space refuse!]] Hellbat grudgingly agreed, but before the two Crossformers could attack Star Saber, they themselves were attacked by Saber's ally, their former partner in crime, [[Greatshot]], who had reformed and joined the Autobots. At first, the pair seemed to have the six-changer on the ropes, until he used his "Disappearing Dust" technique to get the drop on them and destroy their guns. The pair proved to be no match for Greatshot with their bladed weapons, and he destroyed their outer shells, forcing them to retreat in their small vehicle modes, vowing revenge. Hellbat joined them in retreat, without any energy to show for his trouble, but the Crossformers insisted that he would still be paying them. {{storylink|Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior}}
The Breastforce weren't very happy that Hellbat hired them. {{storylink|Rescue! Guyhawk}}

Black Shadow monitored the patsies to make sure they didn't implicate him somehow, and he was overjoyed when they "showed" their guilt by escaping from the police. Taking advantage of the situation, Black Shadow planned to execute the duo to cover his tracks and collect on the bounty Gutcruncher's pals had taken out on the "assassins". He gloated openly about his schemes to the two Autobots, until they split up and scampered, hoping he couldn't follow them both. Well, he could—Black Shadow split from his [[Crossformer]] shell and took off after both Autobots. However, Hubcap ultimately outsmarted the Decepticon. The little Autobot used his speakers to draw as much attention as possible to their chase. Then, when Gutcruncher's flunky [[Dirge (Timelines)|Dirge]] and a pack of [[Malignus (G1)|Malignus Revolutionaries]] responded, Hubcap played back a recording of Black Shadow's gloating admission of the crime for all to hear. One more fancy bit of wordplay tricked the Crossformer into admitting his photon charges killed Gutcruncher, and the verdict was in. The Malignus Revolutionary Army and their [[Gigantion]] buddy [[Menasor (Cybertron)|Menasor]] ended Black Shadow's existence very quickly. At the same time, a mysterious capsule of [[Scraplet]] digestive acid went off in Black Shadow's shell, saving Jackpot's life and preventing any information from being recovered from the shell's CPU. Black Shadow's own head (and therefore his datatrax) also went missing in the melee after his death...almost as if someone were covering their tracks... {{storylink|Gone Too Far}}
Black Shadow and [[Sixshot]] were the first two, and [[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]], who teleconferenced holographically while in the middle of a battle on [[Caldoon 4]], was the third. Though Black Shadow and Sixshot were excited to serve the Decepticons in this expanded capacity, Overlord chafed. {{storylink|Last Stand of the Wreckers issue 2|Last Stand of the Wreckers #2}}

:Sky Shadow was originally "leaked" via Thunderwing's instructions, as they initially depicted him with Sky Shadow's head and chest. A [[Variant|running change]] version of the instructions depicts Thunderwing's own head, but keeps Sky Shadow's chest unchanged.

==Notes==
* In Japanese, Black Shadow's function reads "''Uchū Gyangu''" (宇宙ギャング), which translates to "Space Gangster".
What the hell?
* While "Sky Shadow" is the name of the Generations figure on its card and elsewhere, [[Wal-Mart]]'s product database listed the figure as "BLCKSHAD" and printed as such on the receipt.
'''Starscream battles Space Case.'''

==Synopsis==
At the [[Decepticon]] camp in [[Namibia]], [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] makes it very clear to [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], by way of a beating, that he does not appreciate being told how to do his job. Tired of endlessly submitting to the Decepticon leader, Starscream snaps, and flies off with the intention of starting his own 'New Decepticon Empire'.

When he detects a Cybertronian energy signature, Starscream pursues and sees a shape plummet into the sea next to a pier. The shape is [[Space Case (DOTM)|Space Case]], who, tired of "bein' pushed around", immediately attacks Starscream, punching him in a Ferris wheel on the pier. Starscream hauls himself up and opens fire on Space Case, but quickly realises the identity of the rogue Decepticon. Knowing that Space Case is stupid enough to manipulate, Starscream starts to lay on the compliments, hoping to recruit him as the first soldier in his new army.

'''Jolt''' has a tendency towards mischief making. Like any prankster, he's pretty impulsive, and if trouble rears its head, you can bet Jolt is going to try to be in the middle of it. (Though he more often ends behind it, mostly out of focus, as luck would turn out.) Luckily, he's got the fighting ability to make sure his head stays on his shoulders, utilizing electric whips in battle.

When the Autobots mobilized in response to a sudden surge in [[Decepticon]] activity, Jolt rolled into action at the head of the pack, but he was not among the Autobot team who fended off [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] and [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] after the two Decepticons killed [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] in a forest brawl. Jolt reunited with the other Autobots before they headed back to the [[NEST]] base on [[Diego Garcia]], but the team was scarcely given any time to mourn Prime's passing; as soon as they returned, they were accosted by military forces under the command of [[Theodore Galloway]]. The emotionally brittle Autobots did not take this show of force well, and charged their weapons; Jolt began emitting bright sparks of electricity in anticipation of a fight, but things soon calmed down as Galloway announced that NEST was being disbanded by [[President of the United States|presidential]] order.

Jolt later accompanied the Autobots and their human allies to [[Egypt]], for a climactic [[Operation: Firestorm|battle]] against [[The Fallen]]'s [[Decepticon]]s. During the course of the battle, [[Sam Witwicky]] used the [[Matrix of Leadership]] to bring Optimus Prime back to life, at which point the aged [[Jetfire (ROTF)|Jetfire]] volunteered to sacrifice himself, so that Optimus could use his parts to give himself a power boost. Following Ratchet's directions, Jolt used his electric whips to link Prime up with Jetfire's remains, generating an electromagnetic field that levitated and bonded the necessary parts to Prime's body, giving him a powerful new flight-capable form which he then used to destroy The Fallen. {{storylink|Revenge of the Fallen (film)}}

Some time after the defeat of the Fallen, while the Autobots were still in the process of rounding up the Decepticons scattered across Earth, Jolt was part of a unit sent to Beverley Hills, Los Angles, to apprehend [[Reverb (ROTF)|Reverb]]. The Autobots attempted to subtly divert Reverb away from human traffic to minimize collateral damage, but the rambunctious Jolt jumped the gun and began pursuing the motorcycle Decepticon through the City of Angels. Tearing across pavements and parks with no regard for the humans in his way, Jolt attempted to stop Reverb with his electro-whips, but instead wound up striking a power pole and blowing every electrical system in the immediate vicinity. Thankfully, Reverb was captured by [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]], but Jolt's carelessness landed the Autobots in a lot of trouble with [[Theodore Galloway]]. Optimus Prime stressed the importance of treading carefully to Jolt, who promised to be "the soul of discretion".

Unfortunately, two days later, discretion was nowhere to be seen when Jolt went hog-wild in the middle of [[Las Vegas]], battling the martial artist Decepticon [[Bludgeon (ROTF)|Bludgeon]]. With one of his electro-whips severed by the Bludgeon's sword, Jolt was sent crashing through a casino wall, but what stung more were the Decepticons' taunts that everything would have been fine if he had not been so overzealous and allowed him to leave the city before attacking. Bludgeon then turned his attention to the casino's patrons, but a repentant Jolt threw himself in the path of the blast meant for them. As Bludgeon loomed over him, preparing to strike with his sword, Jolt seized the blade and used his powers to channel the entire output of Las Vegas's electric grid straight into the skeletal samurai. Although Bludgeon was defeated by the monumental shock, the city was left blacked out by Jolt's stunt, and Optimus Prime was reluctantly forced to confine him to base. Jolt accepted his punishment, but as he walked back into headquarters, he overheard a transmission came through from a NEST squad in the field, announcing they were under Decepticon attack... and Jolt gritted his teeth for action... {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 2.9|Culture Shock}}

[[Image:Titan2-11 joltisarmless.jpg‎|right|thumb|180px|]]

He later underwent further training alongside [[Dune Runner (ROTF)|Dune Runner]] and [[Rollbar (ROTF)|Rollbar]], and undertook a survival exercise in [[Death Valley]], [[California]]. He noted to Dune Runner that Bumblebee had found a pretty horrible place to train. He followed Rollbar's lead to a deserted ghost town and happily used his powers to track down the recharge pack the Autobots had hidden there. However, he also found...[[Dead End (ROTF)|Dead End]]! His left arm was torn off, and though he ordered Rollbar to focus on Dead End and not him, the monster Decepticon still tore through the other cadets. Realising they were running on empty, a desperate Jolt used every bit of power in the recharge pack to charge up an electro-whip and knock Dead End out before he could kill the others.

At Rollbar's urging, the cadets took the Decepticon back to [[Diego Garcia]] for medical treatment. [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]] told Jolt and the others that this act of mercy showed they had what it takes to be real Autobots. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 2.11|Spare Parts!}}

Following this, they spent some time under [[Springer (ROTF)|Springer]], a famed veteran of whom they were in awe. He taught them ''always'' to do the unexpected. Jolt, to the shock of the other cadets, spoke up during training to say they'd done ''enough'' exercises and they'd like to have a go at real combat. Springer agreed, and Jolt blew off the other cadet's claims of Springer having a rep as a monster by noticing that he was just a true soldier. A few days later, in [[Texas]], they got that combat op: Springer distracted [[Tankor (ROTF)|Tankor]] while the cadets snuck round to free hostages. However, Jolt spotted [[Dirge (ROTF)|Dirge]] coming in to get the drop on the commander and decided to leave his mission to get involved in the fight. Using his electro-whips, he redirected Tankor's fire into Dirge and saved the day! Springer was pissed that Jolt had disobeyed orders, but Jolt flippantly said that hey, he'd just been doing the unexpected, like he'd been taught. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 2.12|Rules of Engagement}}

Jolt and his crew would be called in to [[CFB Comox|NEST Ops Vancouver]] to search for the missing [[Stratosphere]]; they knew he may have died, but Jolt said they had to look anyway. It turned out he was doing fine on his own and had just saved the day before they arrived, with was a bit embarrassing for Jolt {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 2.14|Head in the Clouds}}
However, before they could reach their goal, they were attacked by [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]]. The ensuing battle didn't take long, as the Decepticon soon retreated, but it was enough of a distraction for Jolt and the others for the owners of the spark traces to get away. {{storylink|Nefarious issue 1}}

Later, back at the [[NEST]] base, Jolt was cited by [[Theodore Galloway]] as an example of [[William Lennox|Lennox]] not following protocols and alerting him to new recruits. It seemed Galloway, like most everyone else, never noticed Jolt had been around since before the rise of the Fallen. {{storylink|Nefarious issue 2}}
**''Japanese ID number:'' '''RA-19'''

:Deluxe class Jolt transforms into a blue Chevrolet Volt with translucent blue plastic windows. His alt-mode is very conspicuously split where his arms and legs separate during transformation. In robot mode, he has light blue "electro whips" in each arm which are deployed by turning a small knob on his wrist. His head features blue [[Light-piping|light-piping]] for his eyes, but there is a gray protrusion behind his head which completely prevents light passage. This protrusion also prevents his ball-jointed head from turning other than in the slightest of angles. Turning his waist activates his [[Mech Alive]] feature, which consists of moving gears inside his translucent upper chest (it is really hard to see). Jolt also has swiveling knees, but sadly, the kibble blocks it off just like the head.

:Sadly, out of the ''Revenge of the Fallen'' toys released as of late summer 2009, Jolt has lost the most paint applications of anyone, losing nearly all blue paint detailing on his chest and all red detailing present in the promotional photos. This leaves his robot mode looking rather plain.

:The picture to the right shows Jolt's feet mistransformed—at least according to the instructions, which show that the two halves of his alt mode's back bumper forming his toes should be turned inward 90 degrees. Which depiction is the actual mistransformation is debatable, as the "official" transformation makes the left toe piece stand a couple millimeters higher than the right one due to the presence of a joining peg. The large pieces of kibble on his back should also be rotated and fitted into his shoulders.

:In a twist of ''awesome'' irony, he is a Movie Autobot who has the classic Autobot [[faction symbol]] on his chest.

:During part of 2010, [http://www.hasbro.com/transformers/en_US/discover/transformers-toy-giveaway.cfm Hasbro did a promotion] wherein US fans could receive three free Deluxes in exchange for receipts showing the purchase of $25 or more of select Transformers product. *'''Electro Whip Jolt''' (Fast Action Battler, 2009)

:Electro Whip Jolt transforms into a slightly squashed [[Wikipedia:Chevrolet Volt|Chevrolet Volt]] with an unfortunate transformation parts separation line going right across his windshield. Jolt's robot mode transformation is reminiscent of Transformers car toys from previous generations, where the sides of the car are his arms and the rear his feet. Jolt's arms each contain a spring loaded "electro whip" that shoots out of them when a blue tab is depressed. Moving either of his arms up, then releasing it will cause it to swing back down, simulating a whipping motion.

*'''Spark Blast Jolt''' (Fast Action Battler, 2010)
:As a [[Robot Powered Machines|Mini-Vehicle]], Jolt is a non-transformable, ''Hot Wheels''-scale Chevrolet Volt. His robot mode is sculpted surging with electricity on the car's underside, alongside his name and an Autobot insignia.

==Notes==
[[Image:ROTF Jolt vehicle mode.jpg|right|thumb|300px|Kicking Decepticon skidplate and staying environmentally friendly!]]

*Jolt was a last-minute addition to the film during the four-month rush to get a script done after the Writers Guild strike. The writers had to convince Bay that Jolt would feel like a true member of the main Autobot roster. <ref>[http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-movie-discussion/180451-welcome-mr-roberto-orci-you-may-ask-him-questions-190.html#post3231606 Roberto Orci discusses Jolt's inclusion in the film]. </ref> Ultimately, this wasn't what you could call a success: Jolt only appeared in robot mode in three scenes of the movie, and the character has no lines whatsoever. He even abruptly disappears from the Autobot vehicle mode group shot where he appears for the first time. Jolt ''does'' get a name shout-out, which is something, at least, but that doesn't change the fact that he was so disposable to the plot that he didn't appear in any of the tie-in comics, books or video games until ''seven months'' after the film had come out.

[[Image:Joltconcept.jpg|right|thumb|300px|Jolt wants a CGI photo.]]

*During production of ''Revenge of the Fallen'', [[TakaraTomy]] were informed that Jolt had been dropped from the movie, so product development on him was halted. However, when they saw a photo of Jolt on the set of ''Revenge'', they realised that contrary to what they had been told, he ''was'' still in the movie, and hurriedly went back to work on his toys!<ref>TakaraTomy designer interview in ''Transformers Generations 2009 Volume 3'' [http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-news-rumors/281700-takaratomy-staff-interview-rotf-human-alliance-gravity-bots-more.html Translated interview on ''Revenge of the Fallen'' work from ''Transformers Generations 2009 Volume 3'' on TFW2005.com]</ref>

*Concept art and an image of Jolt's [[Industrial Light & Magic]] CG model (seen from an awkward angle on a computer screen) were depicted on the [[Revenge of the Fallen (film)/home video|''Revenge of the Fallen'' 2-Disc DVD and Blu-Ray]] special features.

*Although Jolt never speaks in the movie, Variety had reported, and it was believed for awhile, that [[Anthony Anderson]] was to voice the late-joining Autobot.<ref>http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117940483.html?categoryid=31&cs=1</ref>

*One of the Volt vehicles used as Jolt in the movie is on display at the [[wikipedia:Test_Track|Test Track]] attraction at [[wikipedia:Epcot|Epcot]].

*Some scenes of Jolt in vehicle mode in Jordan were shot, but never appeared. Come on!

*On August 2nd, 2010, Nelson Lauren, the webmaster of Michael Bay's official website, declared on the message boards of [http://www.tfw2005.com TFW2005] that there will be "no Jolt" for [[Transformers 3|TF3]].<ref>[http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-news-rumors/316853-big-red-autobot-fire-truck-tf3-30.html#post5064356 Nelson's post on TFW2005.com]</ref> Goddamn it...

*Furthermore, none of Jolt's toy and comic book appearances were accurate to his CG model. Closer inspection of his head reveals the final design was far less shrimpy than the concept art Hasbro used.<ref>[http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-movie-discussion/287152-jolt-cgi-2.html#post5212602 TFW2005 post of shots from the film, the special features and a fan retool of the Deluxe toy.]</ref>
