:Brawl is a Decepticon from the live-action movie continuity family. He is sometimes refered to as Devastator.

To say Brawl is a warrior is like calling Cybertron a hunk of metal. Brawl does not just enjoy fighting, he is consumed by it. Tearing Autobots apart is embedded into his very core, and every fiber-optic cable of his being is obsessed with wild, unyielding combat. The only thing he enjoys, or even cares about, is the fury of battle. And he loves a good explosion. Particularly if it's one he created, and if it was an Autobot that is exploding.

Brawl was oddly absent from events surrounding the Ghost 1 discovery. Whether he was aboard the Nemesis and otherwise indisposed or joined up with Starscream at a later date is unknown.

: Deluxe-class Brawl transforms into a heavily modified M1 Abrams main battle tank, fitted with angular reflective armour, a mine plow and external spare fuel canisters. Mounted upon the turret is a smaller sub-turret housing two anti-aircraft cannons and rocket launchers. The spring-loaded main cannon fires a translucent red projectile.

: In robot mode, Brawl faithfully replicates his (as of writing) seldom-seen movie design, with the only major divergence being that his main gun does not split into smaller guns. He is reasonably articulated, with ball and swivel joints in his arms and legs. Thanks to Automorphing, pushing down on the front of his tank during transformation raises the front of the treads and his head up into position for his robot mode, and vice versa for the tank mode. He is armed with his spring-loaded main gun on his right arm and a flip-out blade on his left.

: There is a design flaw in the way Brawl's arms attach to his torso - the hexagonal peg and socket system used does not provide a tight enough fit, and thus the arms have a tendancy to detach at the shoulder when moved. There have also been some reports of the gears for the treds crack easily and no longer function properly.
: Brawl is a 41-point "Rare" piece in the 3D Battle-Card Game. Constructed of punch-out pieces from plastic cards, he can be assembled into his tank mode, or a sort of representation of his robot mode. Oddly enough, he does not actually have his movie-model head; rather, he uses a recolored version of Barricade's noggin slapped on the Brawl body.

: He uses the same construction as the Wreckage card.

Trivia
*During the movie, Brawl is identified in subtitles as 'Devastator', his working name, though the character is credited as Brawl in the end credits. When queried, director Michael Bay said he had always preferred Devastator and that it is not a mistake. Writer Roberto Orci felt that it was a mistake that would hopefully be fixed before the full official release of the film, this did not happen. At Botcon 2007 Hasbro representatives said they consider "Devastator" a "continuity glitch" and as far as they are concerned the character's name is Brawl.
Starscream has ascended to Decepticon leadership in the absence of their former lord, and though he must "seem" to carry on the long search for the lost Megatron and the Allspark to keep his position as leader, his greatest hope is that Megatron NEVER be found. During late April/Early May of 2007, Sector Seven has intercepted two sound clips through agent Cod3x and another source. Apparently, Starscream wanted to make his presence known and left a message announcing that he could have the Allspark, and that Agent Powers would be the one to hand it over. These messages were somewhat garbled, as they were apparently received over a SETI@home system. So far, only these two "blips" have been analysed (the second still needing work), but more may come in the near future. Sector Seven (game)
*Protoform Starscream (Deluxe, 2007)
:Japanese ID number: MD-05

:Based upon the 'Protoform' (Cybertronian) appearances of the Transformers in the Movie, Protoform Starscream transforms into his 'Entry' mode cybertronic rocket thing. This mode somewhat resembles a cybertronic spaceship, with a visible bridge between the two dorsal fins. A flame decoration piece fits to the back of the 'vehicle' over the missile projectile, creating the illusion of a flaming comet's tail. The bottom of the vehicle has small wheels to roll the toy across smooth surfaces.

:In robot mode, Starscream marginally resembles previous Starscreams, mostly G1 Starscream, with the large turbines on his chest, wings and vents on his legs. Due to his extensive use of ball joints, he has excellent articulation. Starscream is armed with a spring-loaded missile launcher that fires the previously mentioned projectile cast in the same bronze colour as his body. Alternatively, the flame decoration can be fitted onto the end of the barrel.

:This toy also has an Automorphing feature, as most of the figures in the main line do. By pushing his head back during transformation, his shoulder pieces move back into place, while moving them forward will make the head pop back up. While either the missle or the flame can be placed into the gun, the flame can be placed onto the missle, using both at once.

: It's also entirely possible for this figure to eventually suffer from GPS, as the bronze plastic it is cast in has the same characteristic swirling that older figures exibited before it would deteriorate. However, newer materials and processes may prevent the toy from ever seeing a single crack form. It is highly suggested that this toy not be painted or altered in any way to maximize its life span. This means YOU, kitbashers.

*Starscream (Voyager, 2007)
:Japanese ID number: MD-08

: The Voyager-class version of Movie Starscream transforms into a very inaccurate, though officially-licensed Lockheed-Martin F-22 Raptor fighter jet. For reasons unknown, Starscream is a tan/taupe colouring, with rather 'backwards' paint details: on Starscream parts painted grey are metallic on the real F-22, and parts painted silver (such as the edges of his wings) are actually supposed to be grey. Ironically enough, the hue of Starscream's plastic changes with different light conditions, (probably unintentionally) mimicking the colour-changing characteristics of the frontline F-22 Raptors.

:However, most Starscream's vehicle mode inaccuracies are down to his very design and structure. He has almost no engine details to speak of, the rear stabilisers are the wrong shape (and of extremely simple sculpt) and his head and feet are blatantly visible. Starscream also almost certainly has the most undercarriage junk of any transformer based on a real-life plane ever made, with his legs creating a large and blocky fuselage section and some huge and very prominent triple-barrel gattling missile launchers mounted under each wing. Pushing the fighter along a smooth surface causes the barrels to rotate and fire their projectiles, which can also be stored in the black flip-up braces on the launchers.

:During transformationg, pushing up upon the canopy fuselage piece activates Starscream's Automorphing gimmick which pushes panels out of the torso, wings and stabilisers. In robot mode, Starscream is mostly faithful to his movie CGI model, except for being bulkier around his chest, lacking engines on his back and the very large gattling cannons serving as his arms (a facsimile of his much more slender weapons from the movie). Interestingly, his projectile missiles are sculpted to resemble fingers, should users choose keep them loaded while Starscream is in robot mode.

:This toy was later retooled and redecoed into Movie Thundercracker.

*Starscream (Legends, 2007)

: Legends-class Starscream is a highly simplified, low-cost version of Starscream in his F-22 Raptor body. As such, he has a greatly compromised transformation sequence due to the smaller parts count, with limited articulated and detailing.

*Starscream (Voyager, 2007)

: An extensive redeco of Voyager class Starscream painted in a colour scheme based upon Generation 1 Starscream, this version of Starscream shares the retooled version of this mold with Movie Thundercracker, giving Starscream a new G1-styled headsculpt.

:Battle Blade Starscream transforms into a somewhat superdeformed F-22 Raptor, simplifying the overall design to the point of his feet noticeably sticking out the aft of the fighter, and a truncated transformation sequence reminicent of past Transformers such as Generation 1 Jetfire and Cybertron Thundercracker. Rather than having a separate weapon, he only has a claw-like blade that flips over the right hand (hence 'Battle Blade') and a missile in the palm of his left hand. It's also horribly inaccurate in both robot and alt-modes.
Starscream is all ego, vanity, and self-interest. He will do anything to hang on to power or attain more. Though powerful, he is at heart a schemer, contemptuous of Megatron's reliance on brute force. Starscream believes that lies, manipulation, and deceit are a superior path to power.

Starscream has ascended to Decepticon leadership in the absence of their former lord, and though he must "seem" to carry on the long search for the lost Megatron and the Allspark to keep his position as leader, his greatest hope is that Megatron NEVER be found. (Some loyal Decepticons, especially Blackout, strongly suspect this and seek to frustrate Starscream's self-serving plans.) Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday
Sector Seven game continuity
During late April/Early May of 2007, Sector Seven has intercepted two sound clips through agent Cod3x and another source. Apparently, Starscream wanted to make his presence known and left a message announcing that he could have the Allspark, and that Agent Powers would be the one to hand it over. These messages were somewhat garbled, as they were apparently received over a SETI@home system. So far, only these two "blips" have been analysed (the second still needing work), but more may come in the near future. Sector Seven (game)
Transformers (2007)

Merchandise
*Starscream Barrel Roll Blaster (2007)

Story
Above the Planet Gaia, where Leo Prime and his Maximals are fighting the Beast Wars against Galvatron and his Predacons, a strange ship appears. It disrupts a battle between the Jointrons and the Seacons, crash-landing on the planet.

The ship was created long ago by a race of technologically-advanced creatures. Within the ship is a device that can control space-time and pluck living creatures from any point in history. Needless to say, Galvatron wants it pretty bad. Leo Prime sends Lio Junior to protect the ship from the Predacons until reinforcements can arrive. However, due to his inexperience, he is trounced by Hellscream and Max-B. The Predacons use the device to summon-forth Majin Zarak, a titanic battleship Transformer from the past who is virtually indestructible.

Wanting to make ammends and prove his maturity, Lio Junior combines with Santon and Skywarp, forming Magnaboss. He valiantly fights the Predacons away from the ship and uses the very last of his power and strength to summon an alley with the time-space machine.

On the battle field, the Maximals are getting trashed by the might of Majin Zarak. However, Majin Zarak eventually tires of Galvatron's orders and the incompetence of the Predacons. He tosses them out, proving to have a sentient intelligence he hadn't displayed before. Majin Zarak goes wild and all hope seems lost.

Then, suddenly, Optimus Primal appears. Everyone is surprised to see him, as the Maximals had thought Optimus Primal and his crew dead. Primal and Leo Prime team-up and keep Majin Zarak occupied while the rest of the Maximals try to figure out his weakness. After a bit of research, they discover that the third eye on his forehead is where all his nerve-endings are clustered. The only way to defeat Majin Zarak is to strike there, and strike hard!

Optimus Primal and Leo Prime use the power of their Energon Matrices to transform themselves into Flash Lio Convoy and Burning Convoy. They deliver a healthy bit of damage to Majin Zarak before unleashing the power of their Matrices and combine the energy into the "Double Matrix Blast". The powerful attack pierces Majin Zarak's eye, killing him on the spot.

The battle won, Leo Prime and the Maximals ask Optimus Primal to stay with them. However, he declines as he wishes to continue fighting his own Beast Wars on prehistoric Earth. Optimus Primal returns home using the device on the space ship. After he leaves, the Maximals then destroy the machine so that it can never be used again.

The Allspark is the source of Transformer life.

Generation 1/Beast Era/Robots In Disguise
The Allspark - also known as "the Matrix" or "the Well of All Sparks" - is the dimension from which all Transformer sparks that exist, have existed, or ever will exist originate. Collectively, the sparks that compose the Allspark are the essence of Primus.

When a Transformer is "born," a single spark departs the Allspark and suffuses itself into the new Transformer body, giving it true life and soul. When the Transformer then reaches the end of its life, the spark departs its body and returns to the Allspark; all the knowledge that the Transformer acquired and all of its life experiences are contained with the spark, and they are added to the totality that it the Allspark. This collective knowledge is known as the "Wisdom of the Ages." Sparks do not retain their individuality within the Allspark, save for those belonging to former Autobot leaders.

The Autobot mantra "'Til all are one" is likely derived in some way from the unity that exists within the Allspark. Whether it refers to a day when the war will end and Autobot and Decepticon will become united, or to the ultimate end of Transformer life and the return of all sparks to the Allspark, however, is unknown.

Means of access
There are several known means of accessing the Allspark.

*Most prominently, there is the Matrix of Leadership, the legendary talisman carried by Autobot leaders. In addition to permitting the creation of new Transformer life by transferring a spark from the Allspark, the Matrix also allows Autobots to access the Allspark's accumulated wisdom by sending their own spark into it, to be guided and informed by the sparks of the deceased Autobot leaders. This method, in particular, seems to have caused some confusion amongst Transformers - the Allspark has been called "The Matrix" on several occasions, and many Transformers labor under the misconception that the Matrix of Leadership actually contains the sparks of the Autobot leaders.

*Secondly, there is the mega-computer Vector Sigma, which, like the Matrix, endows new Transformers with life through the transferrence of sparks. The most common method of communication with the Allspark via Vector Sigma involves the use of its shell program, the Oracle, which permits a "receptive spark" to commune directly with the collective intelligence of the Allspark; at one stage, however, Optimus Prime used the empty shell of the Matrix of Leadership to access the Allspark through Vector Sigma and spoke directly to Alpha Trion.

Live-action movie
The Allspark is a physical object of mysterious origin. A large, metallic cube, it is inscribed with ornate runes and is believed to be responsible for creating and sustaining the Transformer race and the planet of Cybertron itself.

(Note: The movie's Allspark is a big cube because, in the original screenplay, it was going to be called the "Energon Cube.")

Prequel
Swayed to the side of evil by the lure of the Allspark's power, Cybertron's co-ruler Lord Megatron went rogue with his own army, seeking to take control of it. At Optimus Prime's orders, Bumblebee and a group of Autobots secretly transported the Allspark to Tyger Pax, only to be pursued by the Decepticons. Megatron himself took a personal hand in the torture of Bumblebee, attempting to force him to reveal the Allspark's location, but his efforts went in vain, and the Allspark was blasted into space to put it beyond Megatron's reach. In response, Megatron crushed Bumblebee's voice box and began to follow the Allspark to Earth.

Notes
*The Allspark is comparable to both the Linkage, (the communal soul dimension of the Mini-Cons.) and also aspects of the Creation Matrix as mentioned above. Having dropped the title "Energon Cube" early in development, the writers adopted another canon term from G1 that, while still not accurate, is slightly more in keeping with the nature of the original Matrix. This completes the slow convergence of the Matrix, Vector Sigma, Energon and Primus into a single concept.

Interestingly, his projectile missiles are sculpted to resemble fingers, should users choose to load them constantly while Starscream is in robot mode.

*Starscream (Legends, 2007)

: Legends-class Starscream is a highly simplified, low-cost version of Starscream in his F-22 Raptor body. As such, he has a greatly compromised transformation sequence due to the smaller parts count, with limited articulated and detailing.

Fast Action Battlers
*Battle Blade Starscream (2007)
:Japanese ID number: QC-02

:Battle Blade Starscream transforms into a somewhat superdeformed F-22 Raptor, simplifying the overall design to the point of his feet noticeably sticking out the aft of the fighter. Rather than having a separate weapon, he only has a claw-like blade that flips over the right hand (hence 'Battle Blade') and a missile for his left hand. It's also horribly inaccurate in both robot and alt-modes.

Merchandise
*Starscream Barrel Roll Blaster (2007)
:This version of Starscream's altmode turns into not a robot, but a robot fist holding a two-barreled blaster. The guns in this form fire Nerf N-Strike sized foam missiles.

:Free inside specially marked boxes of Oscar Meyer Lunchables dinners, Starscream was one of six "Pocket Transformers" toy prizes. Molded in green, his tablet unfolds to reveal a picture of his robot mode inside.

Bumblebee is one of Optimus Prime's most trusted lieutenants. Though not the strongest or most powerful of the Autobots, Bumblebee more than makes up for this with a bottomless well of pluck and determination. He would gladly give his life to protect others and stop the Decepticons.

Badly damaged in a conflict with Megatron, Bumblebee lost the ability to speak verbally, though he can still communicate over inter-Autobot frequencies (in a fashion that seems somewhat akin to instant messaging, a useable but more distant and less personal means of interaction).

: Movie Bumblebee transforms into a yellow 1974 Chevrolet Camaro with a quite reasonable level of sculpted detail. In contrast to the other Deluxe-class car Transformers in the Movie toyline, he does not have clear windows, instead opting for opaque yellow plastic with painted metallic blue.

: In robot mode, Bumblebee does not quite accurately replicate his movie appearance due to his chest remaining mostly unchanged and the sparse yellow paint applications render his limbs largely colourless. Due to the extensive use of ball joints, he features an excellent range of articulation. Unusually for an all-new sculpt in the Movie toyline, he features traditional-styled fists with 5mm holes. Bumblebee is armed with two shoulder-mounted spring-loaded missile launchers, which also double as hand-held weapons or can be mounted on ports on the undersides of his elbows. His legs and chest Automorph during transformation. Press the button or you'll break him. Seriously.

: Packaging photos and early test shots of Bumblebee featured transparent blue plastic windows and missile parts. However, the final Hasbro production toy has opaque yellow plastic. The Japanese Takaratomy release of Bumblebee retains the transparent blue plastic parts.

:Legends Bumblebee transforms into a yellow 1974 Camaro. Being a highly simplified toy of a highly complex design, Legends-class Bumblebee does not replicate the appearance of the robot mode very well, and has very limited articulation, detail and paint application.

*Bumblebee vs. Barricade: First Encounter (Multi-pack, 2007)

: This battle pack contains the 1974 Camaro deluxe-class Bumblebee and the deluxe-class Barricade figures, based upon their confrontation as seen in the movie. The box features a diorama-style background from a movie scene, but toys themselves are unchanged from their original carded releases.

*Ultimate Bumblebee (Ultimate, 2007)

:Ultimate Bumblebee transforms into the concept vehicle for the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro. He is very expensive and very vaguely animatronic.

:Japanese ID number: MA-10

:Similar in appearance to the Ultimate toy, albiet much smaller, this second Deluxe class version of Bumblebee also transforms into a concept vehicle of the 2009 Camaro. Maintaining the high standard for car accuracy in the movie line, Bumblebee is very faithful to the real-life vehicle, featuring clear blue windows in contrast to the opaque windows seen in both his previous Deluxe class toy and the Ultimate Bumblebee toy.

: Oddly, this one is MORE accurate than either the older-model deluxe OR the Ultimate figures, with the chest properly articulating in a fairly Movie-accurate manner. It's also slightly larger than the other Deluxe figure, which makes Jazz very sad.
* According to an article on Edmunds.com, the filmmakers wanted Bumblebee's original Earth form to be the 1974 iteration of the Camaro because it was the worst Camaro possible that also had chrome bumpers.
* The same article indicates that the 1974 Camaros used in the film were all purchased via online auction for under $6000.
