Bumblebee's ability as leader of the Autobots is put to the test as he and his team are tasked with finding and apprehending Blurr.

Synopsis
Blurr is racing across the New Mexico desert. After unsuccessfully trying to contact Hot Rod, he notices a figure in the distance, which causes him to transform and come to an abrupt stop right in front of what turns out to be Bumblebee. This startles Blurr to the point where his concentration is broken, causing him to speak at an uncontrollably fast rate.

Blurr notices the new Skywatch badge on Bumblebee's chestplate and is flabbergasted when he hears that Bumblebee and his team are now working for the humans, which Bumblebee says is much better than hiding out in a cave. Bumblebee then apologizes to Blurr and tells him that he's to be turned over to the humans and that he's surrounded. The distraught Blurr pulls out his gun and shoots Bumblebee in the chest. Hound orders the rest of the team to take down Blurr while Ratchet tends to their wounded leader, only to find out that Blurr's shot only damaged Bumblebee's Skywatch badge. Bumblebee asks Hound and Wheeljack if Blurr is secure, then tells them that they are not waiting for the heavy transport.

Colonel Gordon Horiuchi contacts Bumblebee at the Autobot hideout, demanding to know why they did not deliver Blurr to the heavy transport. Bumblebee states that he and his team understand the mission objectives and that they have Blurr with them, but refuse to turn him over to Skywatch custody. Colonel Horiuchi is furious about this, stating that almost getting shot at by one of your comrades is just a pitfall of command. Bumblebee disagrees and tells Horiuchi that he and his team are done doing his dirty work. The colonel isn't pleased with Bumblebee's insubordination and proceeds to activate the kill-switch in the Autobot's badge.

Bumblebee and Ratchet are both surprised to see that Bumblebee does not transform back into vehicle mode after the kill-switch is enabled. Horiuchi calls Lieutenant Klonowski over to find out what's going on with Bumblebee's badge. As Bumblebee starts to explain that the badge's malfunction is due to Blurr's damage to it, Ratchet stops him from letting the colonel know that he is immune and tells Bumblebee to feign a forced transformation. Klonowski is pleased to see that the badge still works (or so he thinks) and then releases the kill-switch. At this point, Ratchet steps in and states that Bumblebee is now stuck in his vehicle form since the badge is stuck in lock mode. Horiuchi asks Klonowski how the badge could be damaged. Klonowski assures him that Ratchet is correct because he is the mechanic, and that they will have to travel to the Autobot hideout in order to replace the badge. Once the transmission is discontinued, Bumblebee transforms back into robot mode. When the others stay silent, he realizes that the colonel can monitor transmissions through the badges and that he is the only one that can speak freely. Bumblebee vows to free the other Autobots from their slavery and quickly decides that they need to find a vehicle that closely resembles him for when the colonel replaces the damaged badge.

Meanwhile, on top of the U-Stor-It complex, Skywarp has assembled a communications array and begins to transmit a message to Megatron. He states that he has collected a variety of weapons, that the killers at Allodyne and Dynomic (the companies that made the weapons that fought the Decepticons) shall die by their own swords, and that he is only days away from completing a weapon that is capable of crippling every Autobot in a single strike.

Bumblebee asks Blurr if he would be willing to help him find a decoy car that matches Bumblebee's vehicle form. When Blurr asks why, Bumblebee replies that they simply need him and his speed. Blurr races through the city, searching for a car that is a direct match to Bumblebee, and eventually finds one, while back at the headquarters, Bumblebee gives a passionate speech to his Autobot comrades.

Bumblebee then makes his way down to the shipyard while Wheeljack communicates to him through a text-only frequency that he needs to find some very rare element called Darmstadtium. Bumblebee travels to the shipyard at night to avoid detection and locates a container labeled "Darkmatter Logic Systems". However, he catches a glimpse of a power shovel and immediately recognizes it to be the Constructicon Scavenger in disguise. Scavenger transforms and tells Bumblebee to be quiet, as it took him a week to infiltrate the shipyard so that he could sneak onto one of the outgoing containers and escape the stranglehold of Skywatch. Bumblebee explains to Scavenger that Autobots and Decepticons need to work together now if they want to prove that they are equal to the humans as opposed to being beneath them, but Scavenger then attacks Bumblebee, denouncing the Autobots' goal to live in peace with the humans rather than rule over them. Bumblebee retreats, racing off into the desert against the night sky.
Quotes
TBD

Errors
* Blurr sported an Earth-based alternate mode in "A Rude Awakening". However, here he is drawn in his Cybertronian alternate mode. In the IDW forums Andy Schmidt confessed that he missed this during his editing. It was not the first time.
* Although not apparent last issue, this issue's dialogue makes it fairly clear that the badges Horiuchi gave the Autobots are supposed to be covering their Autobot insignias: Blurr claims there is something wrong with Bumblebee's insignia and is described as shooting him "dead center" (where his insignia is), and yet only hits his badge. The art doesn't reflect this, putting Bumblebee's badge on his upper-right breast, leaving his insignia unobstructed and making Blurr's dialogue and the fallout of his actions make little sense.

Items of note
* Writer Zander Cannon wrote Blurr's text all smashed together to simulate Blurr talking a mile-a-second. This was done to emulate John Moschitta's voice acting from the original cartoon series, as well as the Transformers Animated series. However, this is the first time Blurr speaks like this in the IDW continuity.
* Hot Rod is on one of this issue's covers, but doesn't actually appear in the story.
* The title is a reference to the ancient Greek story of the Gordian Knot.
Leonardo Ponce de Léon "Leo" Spitz is a little nutty.
Leo posted three video blogs on his site:<br>
*The first of these was a video for all the "newbies", explaining that he was tired of lies and cover-ups and was out to expose the truth. It was also a personal shout-out to new users, thanking them for their contributions and saying there will be new "merch" coming soon.<br>
*The second was an angry shout-out to Robo-Warrior, telling him to back-off of his site and stories and that being from New York and not living in Kansas anymore, Leo would "cut him" if he had to or get something else to cut him, which Leo apparently didn't want to do. On the positive side, the site was doing well and they had plenty of new "merch" to "represent".<br>
*The last was a video saying that "Project: Invade the Campus" was in effect and that despite relocating, they would continue to operate the site.

Leo's last tweet on his twitter page was on June 24, 2009 at 9:02AM and consisted of the cryptic message, "DUDE! WTF IS THAT!!!"The Real Effing Deal

The world may never learn what that message was referring to.

Sam met Leo when moving into his dorm room, and was quickly introduced to his roommate's... eccentricities. Leo hastily escorted Sam into a makeshift situation room, where his buddies Fassbinder and Sharsky were hard at work chronicling the breaking story in Shanghai. Leo was crestfallen when he failed to impress his new roomie with his media empire, or even the kitten calendars, but he ultimately shrugged it off and showed Sam the woman he intended to one day marry, Alice. Later that night he dragged Sam to the first fraternity party of the year, where he believed he was certain to get his "Spitzy Freaky Freak" on.

Days later he had concocted a subtle and nuanced plan to woo Alice by presenting her with a meat-laden pizza. Unfortunately she brushed him off, and was ultimately more interested in Leo's roommate's scribbles. She didn't even grant Leo's humble request to watch! Women. Of course, shortly afterwards he discovered it was all an alien plot to silence his website's truth-finding mission. Realizing he had led his newfound friends into danger, he fled only to be captured by Grindor and taken to Megatron.

Curiously, the Decepticon leader seemed uninterested in Leo, apparently playing coy with the intrepid web journalist while he waxed loquacious about dissecting Sam. Thankfully the Autobots arrived, and understanding the crucial asset Leo represented assigned Bumblebee to safely evacuate him.

Now a fugitive alongside his friends, Leo began to waver at the weight of what was going on, leading the Autobots Skids and Mudflap to consider killing him so they wouldn't have to worry about him. Once he realized the magnitude of the threat facing Earth, Leo's savvy again proved the key to unraveling the mystery as he used his inside contacts to lead Sam to former government agent Seymour Simmons. Though he and Simmons had crossed swords more than once on the internet, Leo was magnanimous, extending the olive branch to his rival. Thus, Simmons allowed Leo to play a central role in their crafty plan to infiltrate the Smithsonian Institute National Air and Space Museum. Successfully beguiling the guards, Leo took out several of them before his ninja-like moves proved a little too smooth, and he applied his taser to himself... in the gonads.

Leo recovered quickly, and was whisked away with the others to Egypt when the ancient Decepticon turncoat Jetfire opened a space bridge. Though he employed the catlike grace he was known for, his pride and joy was ultimately dealt another blow when Sam's girlfriend unceremoniously landed on it. When Sam thought that the long lost Matrix of Leadership might be able to restore the slain Optimus Prime to life, Leo accompanied his new friends on their quest. Leo showed his uncanny powers of reasoning and skepticism as the group approached the Tomb of the Primes, and openly questioned if "Grandpa Blackbird" might be ill-informed, but his insightful observations led Sam to discover the wonders hiding under his very nose.

As they returned to Egypt, the monstrous Decepticon Starscream began dropping missiles on their position. At this point, Leo's steely resolve began to waver, only reinforced with a slight tasering by Simmons. His steely resolve was likewise proven as he showed himself an able ally to Simmons in the decisive final battle, saving the latter's life when he was nearly sucked into the maw of Devastator. Resting only when the job was done, Leo stood as a true hero for our times. Revenge of the Fallen (film)

: Mountain Dew Robots are mechanoids from the Movie continuity family. They are possibly Mutations

<div style="float: right; background-color: white"></div>
Mountain Dew Robots operate in secret on Earth. Although only one individual member is known, the existence of a divergent future timeline in which an entire complex known as Dew City is built implies that they may be as numerous as the Chevy Autobots. At the very least, there's probably a red one. And a blue one. And two black ones. And a diet one...

The origin of the Mountain Dew Robots is unknown. They might be aliens.

Mountain Dew Robots have not been identified as either Autobot or Decepticon. Dewbot, in fact, sports the Mountain Dew logo on his forehead where a faction symbol would normally go. Given what little is known about them, the Mountain Dew Robots might even represent their own faction. A faction of REFRESHMENT.

Notes
*The Capture the Cube online game allows winning players to enter Dewbot into the ranks of the "Elite Mountain Dew Robots". Presumably, these elites are a subset of all MDRs, but it is possible that the group as a whole is more properly referred to by this name.
With his powerful CO2 gun, fueled by the massive Bottle Station, even the mightiest of thirsts shall be quenched!

He is made of a special sample of "sentient metal" originally developed by NASA that was entrusted to the Autobots. This same metal makes up the mysterious thirst-quenching "superhero" known to one and all as Pepsiman. It is unknown if Pepsi Convoy shares other traits with Pepsiman, namely a good running speed, nigh-invulnerability, near-muteness, and rather poor luck.
After Galvatron crashlanded in Tokyo, devastating the city, Japanese opinion of all Transformers (even Autobots) began to become violently negative. To help the people of Tokyo, and to improve Autobot publicity, an unknown Autobot took on the form of Pepsi Convoy. With his new Pepsi-related powers, Pepsi Convoy made it his goal to soothe the thirst of the disheveled people of Tokyo. Generation 1 cartoon timeline (Japan)#2005a
: Pepsi Convoy is a new-trailer redeco of the original Optimus Prime toy, inspired by the 1985 special version of Optimus that came with bonus Pepsi decals for his trailer in the North American market. He transforms into a late 1970s Freightliner FL86 Cab-over-Engine triple-axle semi trailer truck. The windscreen section can open to reveal ultimately-unused chairs that were originally designed for Diaclone driver figures. This release has several new Pepsi-themed paint masks and decals, as well as an entirely new "Bottle Station" (get it?) trailer unit, specially designed to carry a single 500ml-size bottle (a common size in Japan), three 350ml cans, or 12 bottle caps (bottle cap figurines being a common and popular collectible item in Japan). The Autobots discover that Dark Energon is responsible for an epidemic of natural disasters.

Synopsis
As Dark Energon rains from the sky and Megatron prepares to deliver a killing blow to Optimus Prime, a GroundBridge opens and Bulkhead tackles Megatron. While the big guy keeps Megatron busy, Arcee and Ratchet pull Optimus through the GroundBridge. Arcee calls out to Bulkhead, who races back through the GroundBridge just before it closes. Megatron, left alone, realizes he now has all of the Dark Energon he needs.

Back at base, Optimus is glad to see that Raf is OK, but June reminds him that Raf's lucky to be alive. The Autobots discuss why so much Dark Energon is on Earth, though Ratchet is skeptical that it's literally the blood of Unicron. Sick of the kids being endangered, June decides to take Raf to a real hospital, and announces she's taking the other kids as well, since they don't belong in the Autobots' war. Miko refuses to go, and Jack decides to stay too. June takes off in her car with Raf. No sooner has she left than Agent Fowler contacts the Autobots to report that earthquakes have occurred simultaneously worldwide, and other disasters are springing up as well.

As June drives away the base, lightning begins striking the ground near her car. She swerves to avoid it, and crashes into a power pole, though neither she nor Raf are hurt. The danger is not over, however, as a tornado begins bearing down on them. June tries to escape from it, but it begins to lift the car off the ground. Help arrives in the form of Bumblebee, who grabs the car's front end and prevents it from flying off into the storm, while Raf climbs onto him over the hood. There's a moment of alarm as the car is ripped away, but June manages to survive clinging to the hood which Bumblebee is still clutching. Bumblebee drives the relieved pair back to base.

Back at the volcano, the Decepticons are busy gathering up Dark Energon and loading it aboard the Nemesis. On the ship's bridge, Megatron is suddenly seized by a vision of the Earth exploding.

Bumblebee arrives back at base, and everyone's relieved to see Raf and June safe, though she grounds Jack for disobeying her orders of going home with her. At roughly the same time, Fowler arrives to find out if the Autobots have made any progress in finding answers. Ratchet has traced the source of the earthquakes to the Earth's core, and when he plays the tiny tremors as sound, everyone present hears a heartbeat. Meanwhile, Soundwave plays the same sound to Megatron, who feels it resonating through his head.

Deep within the volcano, Unicron awakens.

Realizing that Unicron is at the Earth's core, Optimus explains to the humans present about the age-old war between Primus and Unicron, the creation of the Thirteen, the Well of All Sparks, and the defeat of Unicron. Fowler thinks they should find the hole Unicron crawled into the Earth through and fill it with explosives, but Optimus believes that the Earth formed around Unicron as he slept. Everyone wonders what will happen next.

Airachnid reports that the Nemesis hold is full of Dark Energon. Megatron places her in command while he goes to talk to Unicron. As the ship moves away, Megatron flies down to the lip of the volcano and beseeches Unicron to speak to him. Unicron is unimpressed with Megatron and senses the taint of Primus. Unicron is shocked that the last of the Primes still lives and tells Megatron he'll deal with it himself.

Optimus scouts one of the locations where a quake has struck and confirms that, like the others, it's rich in metals. Ratchet warns him of an increase in spark activity, and a few moments later, Unicron himself appears to Optimus as a huge, stone being. Optimus asks Unicron to consider the many humans inhabiting Earth who rely on Unicron, but Unicron considers them parasites and opts to strike Optimus with lightning instead. Optimus retaliates, blasting Unicron until the stone golem falls and crumbles into the ground. Optimus has not won, however, as more Unicrons burst out of the ground all around him.
Trivia
* This episode was initially intended to air on TeleToon on August 28, 2011, but its broadcast was replaced at the last minute by a rerun of "Predatory". It aired in Singapore on September 29, 2011.
* This episode's intro sequence is shorter than previous ones, skipping the shots of the kids with their respective partners.
* In a difference to the usual Primus/Unicron mythos, Unicron is shown physically stomping across Cybertron (and is later described as having shed his physical form completely) and Primus is said to have later become "one" with the planet as if it pre-exists him.
* The piece of music that plays during the scene with Jack's potential separation from Arcee is the one that can be heard back during the similar situations in "Darkness Rising, Part 4" and "Darkness Rising, Part 5".
* As the Autobots watch a news report of various catastrophes around the globe, the corner of the ticker running across the bottom of the screen displays mostly positive financial growth. Man, corporations are evil!
* As of this episode, June dubs Jack grounded until the age of twenty-five. Let's see how long that lasts.
*In his confrontation with Unicron, Optimus does not reveal his mask once. Perhaps he doesn't consider this a real battle for his life.
Bumblebee adjusts to his unexpected role and tries to forge a new alliance.

Synopsis
The election of Bumblebee as Autobot leader is full of cheer, but within a few days, Bumblebee wishes he could give up the title. Tensions are high as the Autobots either stay in hiding, or forge out on their own. Ratchet rebukes a disrespectful Wheeljack, who later receives a transmission from Colonel Gordon Horiuchi. While Bumblebee is explaining to Omega Supreme that he must hide in a very uncomfortable cave, Wheeljack listens to the Colonel, who states that he is part of a small group of rebels within Skywatch who want to work with the Autobots to capture Decepticons. Wheeljack decides to make contact.

Bumblebee and Ratchet are furious when they find out, but agree to meet the Colonel anyway. At a neutral location, Horiuchi meets with Bumblebee, explains the desire to work with the Autobots. He cites Skywarp as an example, who has recently attacked two defense suppliers. Unbeknownst to them, Skywarp is secretly stockpiling weapons for the day when Megatron returns. Horiuchi gives Bumblebee a set of badges that will mask Transformer signals from Skywatch's scanners. Bumblebee takes the badges back to base where they are soon installed on each Autobot.

Shortly, the Autobots capture six Decepticons, the latest being Frenzy, who's lost without Soundwave. The next on the list is Scavenger, but instead, Horiuchi wants them to capture Blurr, who had earlier left the team. Cliffjumper blusters out that the Colonel is crazy if he thinks they will capture one of their own. Horiuchi has his tech activate an immobilizer built into Cliffjumper's badge, locking him into vehicle mode. The Autobots are aghast, but Horiuchi explains it is merely until he calms down. The Autobots all realize that with these badges installed on all of them, they are now pawns for Horiuchi, essentially salves, to be used as the Colonel sees fit, to capture friend and foe alike.
Errors
* Silverstreak was listed as having left with Hot Rod in Ongoing # 2, but a very Bluestreak-looking Autobot is among those cheering for Bumblebee on the second page. Perhaps Silverstreak is a different character? Or maybe it's supposed to be Smokescreen?
* Bumblebee lists six Decepticons captured (with mugshots of six Decepticons behind him), but just a few panels later, Cnl. Horiuchi says it's five Decepticons captured, with the sixth mugshot (Scavenger) representing the next target.
Items of note
* Cindersaur, Gutcruncher, Axer and Squawkbox somehow made it to Earth within the last three years.
* This is also Cindersaur's first appearance in the IDW continuity.
* Though the character designs for this miniseries are very different from the ongoing title, it's still odd that Cliffjumper retained his All Hail Megatron design while Bumblebee has been changed to his Generation One design.
Bumblebee begins to question the morality of what he is doing as he goes on a solo mission to find the device that will free the Autobots...

Synopsis
Lieutenant Larsen, Colonel Gordon Horiuchi, and Lieutenant Daniel Klonowski are driving through the New Mexico desert to rendezvous with the Autobots to replace Bumblebee's badge which was damaged by Blurr and has trapped Bumblebee in his vehicle mode. (At least, that's what the Colonel believes to have happened.) Klonowski states that they are running out of loyalists, and that their man at the Phillips site has been transferred to the surveillance team after some "Questionable Energy Allocation." The Colonel interrupts, saying that he is well aware of the situation and the severe punishment that will follow should their secret operation be discovered. He also states that Skywarp's capture, coupled with a team of obedient robot soldiers suddenly on their side, will earn them promotions all around without any questions asked. Klonowski replies that it's the obedient part that bothers him.

At the Autobots' cave, Ratchet welcomes the Colonel and tells him that Bumblebee's state still hasn't changed, and that, regardless of what Bumblebee said yesterday, the rest of them fully support their plan. The Colonel acknowledges and tells Ratchet that they have Bumblebee's new badge, which should correct any problems caused by the damaged one. Ratchet tells the Colonel that they aren't really sure what happened when the Colonel enabled the kill-switch in Bumblebee's damaged badge, but that he's stuck in vehicle mode and is unable to speak. The Colonel seems surprised by this, because the badges weren't designed for that kind of incapacitation, and that his communication systems should still be functional. Ratchet states that they don't know too much about the badges and that the damage could have bypassed a safety or two. The Colonel barely acknowledges this claim and simply tells Klonowski to replace the old badge with the new one.

While Klonowski is replacing the damaged badge, Colonel Horiuchi turns to Ratchet and tells him that with the way things have gone in the past 24 hours, he can understand why the Autobots are upset with Skywatch. Horiuchi tells him that after they succeed with their mission and go public to both the rest of Skywatch and the rest of the world, then the U.S. government might set aside a piece of land for the Autobots, a sovereign nation, safely apart from the rest of the humans. Ratchet is quick to call this new proposed piece of land a prison but Horiuchi backpedals, stating that it is simply a reward for their loyalty.

While this discussion is going on, Klonowski is hard at work attaching not Bumblebee's new badge. Klonowski begins to have a conversation with not Bumblebee when he notices some rust and that he didn't think Autobots got rusty. Klonowski also notices that not-Bumblebee has also recently acquired a license plate, and is unable to recall if Bamboozlebee has always had a license plate.

Horiuchi punches Bumblebee's call sign into the control panel and nothing happens. The Colonel gives up on the control board and angrily orders Klonowski to tell Sanjay Bharwaney that he needs another one of these control boards. Horiuchi turns to Ratchet and tells him that the badge must have caused more damage to Bumblebee than previously thought. He tells Ratchet that they have to leave and that it's up to him to fix Bumblebee. Klonowski walks over to Bumblebee, and the Colonel asks if he has something to say. Klonowski, unsure if his suspicions are correct, dismisses this and just says that it's been a late night for him, as well. On their way out, Horiuchi temporarily places leadership in the hands of Ratchet and walks out. Wheeljack, via text-only frequency tells Bumblebee that the decoy worked and that they have acquired information on Sanjay Bharwamey, the technician who developed the control board and the Skywatch badges that the Autobots wear and tells him that Sanjay is most likely at home, due to the Horiuchi's informal behavior. Wheeljack also tells Bumblebee that, based on what Col. Horiuchi has said, that Sanjay is working on a second master control board that affects all badges, and that if properly altered, it may disable all kill-switch badges.

Bumblebee texts back to Wheeljack that he has been observing several cases that match the board's dimensions, as well as Sanjay's daughter Serena, who is playing out in the front yard. She may be able to help him gain possession of the control board if she were his friend. Bumblebee starts to get Serena's attention by honking his horn, and he notes that it seems to be working so far.

Ratchet tells the other Autobots that Horiuchi has temporarily made him leader and that their obligation to the humans still stands. Unbeknownst to them, Klonowski is listening in on their conversation, immediately growing even more suspicious when he learns that the Autobots have suddenly grown receptive to the idea of hunting down their comrades. Cliffjumper asks Ratchet by text if Bumblebee will be back before the deadline; Ratchet, unaware of Klonowski's eavesdropping, simply says that he believes so. Klonowski rewinds the audio and increases the volume, his suspicions slowly confirmed. Bumblebee drives by the Bharwamey residence and honks his horn again and actually gets Serena to reply. Back at the Skywatch base, Klonowski knocks on the door and asks Collins if he is still monitoring the COMM output of the Autobot cave. Collins says yes, but that there hasn't been much time to run any type of decryption on code that is generated by their internal systems. Klonowski asks Collins if he can check the last 48 hours or so of these transmissions to which Collins obliges.

Sanjay tells his daughter that he needs to go to work and that their housekeeper, Swati, is in the kitchen if she needs her. Serena turns around and sees Bumblebee drive off. She follows him around the corner, where Bumblebee transforms and reveals himself to Serena. Serena, like any other child, is filled with wonder and excitement. They introduce themselves to each other and Serena asks Bumblebee if all cars are robots. Bumblebee simply answers that not all cars are robots, just German ones. Serena pelts Bumblebee with a barrage of questions, to which Bumblebee is not quite sure how to answer in the first place. Swati calls Serena's name and asks her what she's doing. Serena tells her that she is talking to the "funny car" and Swati tells her that lunch will be ready in five minutes. Back at Skywatch, Klonowski is reviewing the COMM data, acknowledging that Collins was right about "this stuff's" ability to induce sleep when he notices Cliffjumper's encrypted message to Ratchet. Astounded by this discovery, Klonowski begins a search for similar transmissions in record; the computer returns with 74 matches.

Back at the house, Swati calls Serena back to the house for lunch. Serena asks her new friend to stay out here while she goes inside for a few minutes. Bumblebee tells Serena that he needs her to do him a favor, he asks her if she would be able to get the case that contains the control board. Serena says that she's not allowed to touch her father's stuff, to which Bumblebee lies to her, claiming that it's broken, and that her father could get hurt if he tries to use it. Not wanting her father to get hurt, Serena agrees to get the control board for Bumblebee.

Back at Skywatch, Klonowski is still shocked at his discovery, he asks himself what the Autobots have done to them and that they are going to ruin everything. He states that he must tell the Colonel about his discovery when the computer alerts him of a new transmission. Bumblebee, unaware that the text frequency was recently compromised, tells Wheeljack that he feels terrible about sending Serena to get the control board. Wheeljack tells Bumblebee to bring it back to base so that he can alter it, however, the altered board will burn out all badges and the power sources of any non-badged robot, and that both Bumblebee and Blurr will need to be out of range when the board is used.

Bumblebee begins to question whether what he is doing is the right thing, and that he feels uncomfortable betraying a friend. Wheeljack gets frustrated with Bumblebee and tells him that Horiuchi used the humans' fear and mistrust to capture them, Bumblebee simply tells Wheeljack that lying to a little girl in order to steal from her father only rationalizes the humans' concerns. This only sets Wheeljack off even more, but Ratchet interjects and tells Bumblebee that he sympathizes, but that there doesn't seem to be any other option.

At the Skywatch Phillips Base, smoke is pouring out of the entrance. Skywarp stares at a computer screen as he retrieves the information regarding the control board. Talking to himself, Skywarp muses that if only the humans had cooperated, then their deaths may not have been necessary. He transforms and flies off into the sky. Back at Sanjay's house, Serena returns to Bumblebee with the control board and Bumblebee states that he can't fix it, but he's talking to someone who knows how. He sends the schematics to Ratchet, who says that the device is simply too complicated and calls to abort the mission, Bumblebee says nay to that and asks if there is any way to hack it, as they only have 15 minutes until Sanjay returns from work. Wheeljack interrupts once more to belittle Bumblebee, with Bumblebee finally taking charge, telling Wheeljack to shut up and help him. Ratchet starts walking Bumblebee through the basic steps, and then calls Wheeljack over to help him.

Wheeljack begins where Ratchet left off, but Bumblebee tells him that he can't keep up with him. Wheeljack informs Bumblebee that time is running out and that he has to try. Swati calls Serena's name and says that Sanjay is about a minute away from the house, and that she should come in and get changed. Bumblebee finishes and hands the case containing the control board back to Serena and tells her to go in through the back and put it back where she found it. Bumblebee transforms and drives off, telling himself that Serena deserved at least a goodbye. He feels sorry for lying to her and abusing her trust, but she did him a great favor and that he hopes a day will come when he can repay her, unaware that Skywarp is directly overhead.
