Sector Seven is a secret American government agency, which deals with extraterrestrial technology and threats.

It is so secret, it has its own secret website.

Sector Seven sometimes operates through the front company S7 Industries.

Fiction
sectorseven.org
Sector Seven was founded over 100 years ago by a group of seven men:

*Stanford Julius Morehouse
*Edgar Thibedeau Westfield
*Neville Octavian Brewster
*Percy Emerson Whitting
*Wallace Wilson Clairmont
*Alistair Jennings Crowther
*Vance Milhaus Lawson

They are known as "The First Seven," and are said to have "hid the past to protect the future," whatever that means. Their portraits adorn a wall in the lobby of the present day Sector Seven headquarters, as a local pizza boy can attest.

In 2007, after the detection of a "blip" that matched their "threat profile," Agent Alexander Powers informed the organization that war may be imminent and that they were humanity's only hope. He and research scientist Rebecca Howard, ex-lovers, clashed several times over her desire to go public with information about the N.B.E. threat and seek assistance from other nations. This escalated with the detection of "N.B.E. Two," with whom Dr. Howard argued in favor of making contact.

Meanwhile, the mysterious Agent X began hacking into the Sector Seven network and leaking information to the public. Sector Seven (game)

IDW Movie Prequel comic
*Apparently, Sector Seven has been around for a very long time; certainly, an existing group has been around since before Sam Witwicky's Grandfather encountered the Mega-Man underneath the arctic ice. Upon hearing his story Sector Seven immediately went into action to seize his find and discredit the story.

*Interestingly, even this older version of Sector Seven has a number of interesting artifacts in their collection. These include pictures and a skull from a "triclops" life form of some kind, a severed bestial arm in a jar (possibly from a version of the Beast Wars, although the sketch is difficult to make out and mechanics may not be incorporated) and what could possibly be a fragment of the Golden Disk. Most intriguing indeed.

Ghosts of Yesterday novel
*1969 - Sector Seven (headed by Walter Simmons, known internally as "The Old Man"), attempted the first test flight of an Ice Man-derived spacecraft (Ghost 1) using the Apollo 11 moon launch as cover. Unexpected complications occurred following contact with NBEs. At the same time the first attempt was made to relocate the Ice Man himself from the Arctic to southern Nevada to be better studied alongside a likewise mysterious "alien cube". Signs seemed to point to Sector Seven begining to shift from being a secret U.S. military protocol to a non-military "black ops" program. Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday

Transformers (2007)
Equipment
As an exceptionally well-funded secret government organisation, Sector Seven is at the cutting edge of human (or alien-derived) technology in their quest to better understand the Ice Man, the Cube, and to seek other N.B.E.s on Earth.

Sector Seven Mobile Command Unit
To counter public suspicion and the information about the N.B.E.s leaked by Agent X, Sector Seven employed a mass disinformation program in the form of a road tour at various cinemas across America. Black Peterbilt cabover trucks pull large, armoured trailers containing sophisticated communications and scanning equipment, as well as a small cage for containing any captured N.B.E.s assigned agents happen to find. However, the communications equipment aboard these trailers are frequently susceptible to displaying emergency communiques from Sector Seven Command showing a very well-edited and scored satellite video feed of an alien robot attack in Qatar, usually in the presence of ordinary civilians.

M9-2 Harpoon Gun
The M9-2 Harpoon Gun is a weapon developed by Sector Seven, under the direction of Rebecca Howard. The intial protoype was completed in 2003. Featuring an armor-piercing projectile that weighs 21.2 kilograms, the weapon has a range of 55 meters with a muzzle velocity of 324 meters per second.

Primative by N.B.E. standards, the weapon is nevertheless effective at subduing non-hostile aliens and contain them for cryo-freezing.

Pursuit van
Once an N.B.E. has been located within range of Sector Seven field units, Mobile teams are sent out in pursuit vans to intercept and capture them (alive if possible). Equipped with the standard array of sophisticated communications equipment one comes to expect from Sector Seven, the vans are armed with a passenger-side M9-2 harpoon gun and generally carry a squad of troops armed with portable cryo-freezing units.

AH-64 Apache attack helicopter
Sector Seven uses modified AH-64 Apache helicopters fitted with cryo-stasis rocket pods to capture N.B.E.s

SUV
For operations within urban/suburban zones or for human targets, Sector Seven agents travel in custom black GMC Yukons. They do not hold up well to being lifted by their roofs by large N.B.E.s, nor can they withstand electromagnetic pulses.

One of these SUVs in the form of a Cadillac Escalade was hit by All Spark energy, and became the Decepticon Stockade.

:(Note: These SUVs also appear in the console version of the Transformers movie game.)

Assault buggy
Based upon the Chenowth Desert Patrol Vehicle (DPV) formerly used by the United States Military, this all-purpose, high-speed recon and attack vehicle can be fitted with a standard M2 Browning .50 caliber machine gun or Sector Seven's specially-developed weapons, ranging from cryo-freezing cannons (though this requires cryo-tanks to be installed in the rear compartment) and to belt-fed automatic grenade launchers capable of firing armour-piercing sabot rounds.

One of these buggies was imbued with power from the All Spark, and became the Autobot Landmine.

:(Note: These buggies also appear in the console version of the Transformers movie game.)

Sector Seven Drone
These large treaded robots patrol the interior of Hoover Dam serving as security patrols. They are also found at certain military installations seemingly not in association with the secret agency. They are equipped with two powerful cannons.

:(Note: The Sector Seven Drones only appear in the console version of the Transformers movie game.)
Transforming into an armored car Payload is the one the Decepticons rely on to procure the money they need to best function on Earth. Both the Autobot and Decepticon armies make use of drones based on his design, which are heavily-armored, brutal melee fighters.
Fiction
Payload units of both sides have a strong defence, good attack, but poor speed. They are differentiated by little more than the make of their noggins; Autobot versions use a facemask-with-visor model, while Decepticons has a lens-head.

Transformers: The Game (console)
Payloads show up in Mission City to put the hurt on both Autobot and Decepticon alike. Their primary attack is an unstoppable running charge that can send even the likes of Optimus Prime and Megatron reeling. The only way to break them out of this attack is to nail them with a thrown object or melee attack when they briefly pause between charges.

Aside from the aforementioned head differences, Decepticon Payloads are dark blue, while the Autobot versions are silver-white.
:Shockwave is a Decepticon from the live-action movie continuity family.

Shockwave is a massive triple-changing Decepticon, capable of converting from his robot mode to either an artillery cannon or an assault helicopter. Apparently, he's been working to oust Megatron since before Starscream got the idea. Starscream decided Shockwave will be lucky to be kept as a pet if he takes over.

If he doesn't get a toy, the fandom shall be pissed.

Fiction
Transformers: The Game (console)
Shockwave appears as a boss character in the Autobot campaign. Under the orders of Starscream, he attacked the hometown of Sam Witwicky, but was destroyed by Optimus Prime.

Transformers Decepticons (DS)
Shockwave is playable, after a fashion, via scanning a Stealth Copter or an Attack Copter. Scanning the Stealth Copter gives you the conventional Shockwave color scheme, while scanning the Attack Copter gives you a color scheme more closely resembling this guy.

Transformers Autobots (DS)
Shockwave's body type appears as three helicopters: the Attack Copter, the Recon Chopper and the Stealth Chopper. However, the only one of the three able to become purple like Shockwave is the Attack Copter.

Transformers: The Game (PSP)
Shockwave is a playable character in the PSP version of the game. However he only has one alternate mode.

Longarm units are large machines that convert into tow-trucks. Both the Autobot and Decepticon armies make use of these drones, which are solid, dependable fighters, and can be particularly dangerous.

Longarm units have good Attack & Defense capabilities, but little on speed. The two sides' drones are differentiated by little more than the make of their noggins; Autobot versions use a facemask-with-visor model, while Decepticons has a lens-head.

Transformers: The Game
Longarms are particularly dangerous foes that appear many times against both Autobot and Decepticon. They are capable of swinging the tow-arms on their backs in a wide cricle, extending their wrecker-hooks, which results in a devastating slam attack that can send even the larger Transformers sprawling. Since they are also shielded against artillery in robot mode, this attack can only be interrupted by hurling something at them.

Autobot Longarms are white with blue detailing. The Decepticon versions are white with yellow detailing.
Pieces punched out from two different cards can be assembled to form a tow-truck or a robot, while a third double-sided card gives its stats and attacks for each mode. He uses the same piece layout as Bonecrusher, just turned around in vehicle mode so the extension is in the back.
Trivia
* Longarm's vehicle mode is modeled after a tow-truck seen in several trailers and promotional stills for the film.

* While the movie tow truck has "Mike's Towing" on the doors, the game model and toy have "Orson's Towing" instead, a reference to Aaron Archer's old screen name "Orson".
Transformers The Game (console)
Payloads show up in the big city to put the hurt on both Autobot and Decepticon alike. Their primary attack is an unstoppable running charge that can send even the likes of Optimus Prime and Megatron reeling. The only way to break them out of this attack is to nail them with a thrown object or melee attack when they briefly pause between charges.

The Decepticons are one of the primary factions in the Transformers mythos. They are typically concerned with such things as amassing large quantities of energon, developing powerful weaponry, galactic conquest, and beating people up. Not neccessarily in that order.

They are "the bad guys" in most Transformers stories.

:Japanese name: Destrons<br>
:Italian name: Distructors

Generation 1
In the various continuities descending from Generation 1, the Decepticons and the Autobots are the two great powers in the Transformer population. The factions, however, are not a complete set -- there are Transformers who are unaffiliated / neutral, or even members of smaller or splinter factions.

Many G1 timelines actually credit Megatron as the founder of the Decepticons, not merely its most recent leader. In contrast, Optimus Prime is almost always depicted as only the latest in a long line of Primes or Matrix Bearers.

Robots in Disguise
In the Robots in Disguise cartoon, the Decepticons were a brand new faction that came into being during the events of the story. Because there were so few Decepticons (only six or seven), and because they were a subset of the Predacon antagonists, they can almost be viewed as a subgroup rather than a proper faction. The RiD Decepticons were created on Earth when Megatron's forces captured a set of stasis pods from an ancient Transformer spaceship that had been found on Earth, leading to the birth of the Commandos and Scourge. The toy version of Galvatron was also labeled as a Decepticon, although this "change" in the character's faction was not established in the cartoon series.

In the Japanese version of RiD, Car Robots, the Decepticons were known as Combatrons. This is the same name by which the G1 Combaticons were called in Japan.

For the Hasbro toy line, several other non-show Decepticons were added to the ranks to help fill out the line. It is unknown how most of these actually fit into the story, though one of them, Axer, is actually a dimension-hopper who arrived from the Generation 1 universe.

Unicron Trilogy
Animated continuity
Armada
The exact origins of the Decepticon faction is a bit muddled. It is widely assumed, though never directly confirmed, that the movement was founded by Megatron. Also, the enslavement of the power-enhancing Mini-Cons is considered to be the impetus to the Decepticons' rise to a massive multi-planet-spanning army, though at what point in the war this occurred is unclear; it's possible the Mini-Cons' arrival was what gave Megatron the opportunity to rise to power, or that they arrived after the war had already begun.

Either way, the Mini-Cons fueled the war machine for centuries, and the war with the Autobots soon spread from Cybertron to other worlds. The self-imposed exile of the Mini-Cons to an unknown destination was seen as a major setback for the Decepticons (and something of a pyrrhic victory for the Autobots), but despite this, the war continued, as both sides had amassed a large enough power base to continue on without the little buggers.

The Autobots and Decepticons seemed to fight to a stalemate, neither able to gain a distinct advantage over the other. When a signal reached Cybertron centuries later that the Mini-Cons had landed on Earth, it seems neither side was capable of sending a full force to retrieve them, despite the power they contained. Though the Decepticon force sent to Earth was small in numbers, it was far from insignificant; Megatron himself led the squad, backed by some of his most trusted warriors.

When Megatron returned to Cybertron, the overwhelming majority of the Mini-Cons were in the protective custody of the Autobots, but Megatron was unfazed; he had assembled the Mini-Cons required to make the three legendary weapons the Star Saber, Skyboom Shield and Requiem Blaster. Bolstered by this new power and the apparent death of Optimus Prime, Megatron attempted to take Cybertron once and for all.

But Megatron's return to Cybertron was the beginning of the end of the Decepticon army. When Unicron revealed himself as a threat to both armies, fueled by the negative psychic energies from centuries of death and destruction, the two sides eventually joined together to beat back the planet-eater. Despite the truce, Megatron and Prime engaged in a brutal duel on the surface of the weakened Unicron after the three legendary weapons had been removed from his core. Realizing their battle was keeping Unicron active, Megatron sacrificed himself, and both Unicron and Megatron disappeared into nothingness.

Energon
Megatron's final orders to his troops still stood: work with the Autobots. The Decepticons maintained a degree of autonomy, still wearing the faction sigil and often taking military/defensive positions in the growing number of energon-mining colonies, but they were ultimately answerable to Optimus Prime and the Autobots. There were, of course, dissenters, most of which were captured and imprisoned. For a decade, Autobot and Decepticon worked side-by-side in a somewhat stable truce.

Both sides found themselves the target of attacks from Unicron again; hordes of Terrorcon drones, sent by Alpha Quintesson to steal energon ore with which to revive the now-shattered husk of Unicron. What the alien did not count on was that Megatron's spark had survived within the remains, and was siphoning energon from Unicron's body. Soon the Decepticon leader had revived himself in a new form, drove off Alpha Quintesson, and along with an elite cadre of soldiers and a seemingly inexhaustible supply of mindless Terrorcon drones, began his new plans for conquest.

When news of Megatron's return reached Cybertron, hundreds of Decepticons rose up and rebelled, eager to get back to conquering. But having been joined to Unicon for so long apparently had given Megatron a taste of godhood; he had no more interest in amassing a galaxy-spanning army of troops. Countless Decepticons died in the resulting battles, with Megatron more than willing to sacrifice them without a thought to attain ultimate power for himself. As the "Powerlinx Battles" -as they came to be called- came to their climax, Megatron found that his actions and thoughts were being influenced and controlled by the dark spark of Unicron. Unwilling to let Unicron stand in his way, Megatron ultimately sacrificed himself (again) and seemingly destroyed Unicron's spark by plunging himself into a newly-formed energon sun created by Primus.

Cybertron
What little remained of the once-mighty Decepticon army after Megatron's loss was at best a loose association of criminals, thugs, and lunatics, with no real political or military power to speak of. For a decade, Cybertron was once again at peace, with the population overwhelmingly Autobot or neutral. The Transformers had withdrawn from Earth and its other colonies to focus on revitalizing their homeworld after the devastation of the Powerlinx Battles. However, two great catastrophes shattered this peace; the energon sun collapsed in on itself, forming the powerful black hole known as the Unicron Singularity, which threatened to devour Cybertron and, if left unchecked, the entire universe... and the return yet once again of Megatron, who had absorbed much of what remained of Unicron's power.

Megatron's goal of attaining godhood was now at hand. By obtaining the legendary Omega Lock and the four Cyber Planet Keys, Megatron intended to accelerate the growth of the black hole, consuming the universe in a vast sea of nothingness that only he would survive, then use his powers to re-create the universe in his image.

To this end, he had no need of an army. He gathered a small group of allies and lackeys to seek the items he needed, but they were nothing more than pawns to him, to be used and discarded at a whim.

The Decepticons briefly regained their status as a mass army of individuals when Starscream, who had long suffered at Megatron's hands since the beginning of the Decepticons, made his own bid for ultimate power with the help of the Planet X agent Sideways. Having sealed Megatron and his troops in a trap, Starscream freed hundreds of criminal Transformers who had been locked up on Earth for millennia, and formed his own globe-spanning army. The Decepticon "Monsters" were tasked with finding the Omega Lock and Earth's Cyber Planet Key, which they eventually brought to their leader. However, numerous Decepticons were killed in the battles with the Autobots, and it soon became apparent that Starscream, like Megatron before him, didn't care. Most of these criminals soon abandoned Starscream and went into hiding.

As for Megatron, he too had deserters among his own considerably-small ranks. Most notably, the powerful Scourge, leader of the Jungle Planet and the colossal Menasor from Gigantion, both of whom eventually joined forces with their former enemies the Autobots.

This was not seen as a concern for Megatron, however, as by this time Starscream and his allies were seemingly destroyed on Gigantion, and Megatron (now calling himself "Galvatron" again) had the Omega Lock and all four Keys. What few Decepticons remained loyal to him were too stupid to see what Galvatron had planned, and made perfect distractions as he set his final plan in motion. If they weren't strong enough to survive the coming cataclysm, then so be it.

Ultimately, Galvatron's plan failed, and the Unicron Singularity was sealed. His remaining Decepticons quickly left him, realizing what was likely to have happened to them, and eventually joined the Autobots. After Galvatron's seemingly-final defeat and death in a one-on-one duel with Optimus Prime on Cybertron's moon, the Decepticons, not knowing when to quit, rose again, albeit in a rather pathetic fashion. Having cobbled together a rather rickety rocket, Ransack, Crumplezone and Thunderblast shanghaied the reluctant Thundercracker, who was really keen on being on the winning side for once, and flew off to parts unknown as the New Decepticon "Army".

They made it to Mars before the rocket crash-landed.

Meanwhile, the Autobot Wing Saber reported form a deep-space recon mission that he thought he had picked up traces of Starscream, seemingly backed up by Sideways and Soundwave. Landmine and the former Decepticon Mudflap raced off to join Wing Saber and investigate...

:(Note: During the closing credits montage of the final episode, a Galvatron-esque figure is seen sparring off with the now-deceased Vector Prime. What this means for the Decepticon army is unknown.)
He's well suited to the task. Swindle is not a great fighter and, more, he's dumb as a post, but he takes great glee in blowing things (any "things") to pieces and that's worth something right? Generally he leaps and hops around the battlefield like a madman, blasting explosives out of his chest cannon and laughing uncontrollably. Havoc is a given when he's around. He's also an enthusiastic but unfortunately ineffectual interrogator.

The Decepticons are one of the primary factions in the Transformers mythos. They are typically concerned with such things as amassing large quantities of energon, developing powerful weaponry, galactic conquest, and beating people up.
