IDW Transformers movie comics
The AllSpark's origins are unknown. What is known is it was responsible for creating Cybertron and a race of powerful entities, the Thirteen Primes. The Primes soon discovered the All Spark's vast power was finite, and they were at a loss on how to restore it. Fate intervened when a nearby star went nova, repowering the AllSpark. The Primes could travel dimensions, but they needed help harvesting and locating stars. The All Spark responded when it created a new race of helpers, the Transformers, robots who could change their forms. Transformers called Seekers had the ability to travel into interstellar space and sought out suitable suns. Other Transformers constructed harvesters which enabled the collection of such energy, and this energy would in turn repower the All Spark. The Dynasty of Primes, as the entities and their descendants were known, lead the Transformers and searched the galaxy for stars to harvest.

Knowing the destructive capabilities of the harvesters, the Dynasty of Primes tempered their search with the rule to never destroy a star with a life bearing world. The AllSpark then formed a key to activate the Harvesters, the Matrix of Leadership, which the Dynasty protected. Revenge of the Fallen Movie Adaptation issue 3 Defiance issue 4

However, one of the Primes began to believe the All Spark was talking to him, that it had chosen him as its acolyte. He began destroying inhabited solar systems to power the All Spark and grew frustrated with the Dynasty's restrictions, soon deciding they had to be killed. He and some rogue Constructicons established a star harvester on a primitive world to draw the other Dynasty into a trap: he then began to slaughter his brothers, forever now being known as the Fallen, but the sole survivor imprisoned the Fallen in his sarcophagus. Tales of the Fallen issue 4 He stole the Matrix and hid it in a tomb made of the bodies of the dead Primes, giving his life to seal the Tomb. A single orphan of the Dynasty was hidden away on Cybertron, unaware of his lineage, and the Transformers became the sole inhabitants of Cybertron. Revenge of the Fallen Movie Adaptation issue 3

In time, the Transformers would form a new society, known as the Autobots. The Autobots were unaware of their predecessors or the AllSpark's origin, but to them the AllSpark was the source of life, and that was all that mattered. In return for this act of creation and the continued sustaining of Cybertron, the Autobots tended to the AllSpark and kept it safe in Simfur Temple. Under the reign of Science Division leader Optimus and Defense Force leader Protector Megatron, the Autobots flourished. Movie Prequel issue 1 The Cube's guardians were Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. The peace ended when the Fallen's sarcophagus was dug up, causing the AllSpark to give off pulses, attracting the attention of a hostile alien species who attacked Cybertron. This led to an increasingly darker Megatron Defiance issue 1 to be tempted by the Fallen into trying to seize the power of the AllSpark. At the same time, Optimus and his science division discovered that Optimus was somehow connected to the Dynasty of Primes.

Now Lord of Cybertron, Megatron went rogue with his own army, the Decepticons, branding those who followed Optimus traitors. Defiance issue 3 Optimus, now dubbed Optimus Prime formed his own army of Autobots to counter Megatron. In the war that followed, Cybertron was decimated, and eventually Optimus was forced to capture the AllSpark to keep it out of enemy hands. Defiance issue 4 The Autobots fought valiantly, but the Decepticons quickly gained ground.

Eventually, Prime made the decision to launch the AllSpark blindly into space. At Optimus Prime's orders, Bumblebee and a group of Autobots served as decoys, drawing the Decepticons—who thought they had the All Spark—to Tyger Pax, far enough away from the artifact's true location to buy Prime the time needed to prepare the launch. Megatron himself took a personal hand in the torture of Bumblebee, attempting to force him to reveal the All Spark's location, but his efforts went in vain, and the All Spark was blasted into space to put it beyond Megatron's reach. In response, Megatron crushed Bumblebee's voice box and began to follow the AllSpark into deep space. Movie Prequel issue 1

Once launched into space, the AllSpark would seek out on its own the location of a harvester. Defiance issue 4

Titan Magazines Transformers comics
The AllSpark was not merely launched blindly into space, however—its trajectory was leading it directly towards the Alkaris Anomaly, a wormhole that could potentially transport the cube to an infinite number of locations in the universe. Briefly delayed by an Autobot tractor beam, Megatron could not stop the cube from entering the wormhole, and instead chose to follow it into the anomaly. While the AllSpark was disgorged somewhere in the vicinity of the Sol system, to eventually crash on Earth, Megatron was deposited by the wormhole in some other, far off star system, leaving him to hunt for the Cube through the endless reaches of space. Transformers Comic issue 2

Later on, a space-travelling Ironhide would be captured by an alien craft—its inhabitants appeared to be immense entities that claimed the AllSpark had been stolen from them, and did a psychic probe of Ironhide. They turned out to be "electrical ghosts", a digital imprint from another time kept alive by the photon-rich atmosphere; the ship was a derelict, salvaged by another (rather feeble) alien race that had been using these ghosts as a front. The ship contained a device attuned to AllSpark energy though, making it clear the original inhabitants did have some connection to the AllSpark... Transformers Comic issue 5

When it turns human non-sentient mechanical devices into Transformers, the AllSpark energy within them forms into small, red AllSpark cubes; these can be removed and placed into other things. Starscream used this to make zombie Decepticons. Transformers Comic issue 7 It can also cyberform planets. Transformers Comic issue 9

When Megatron claimed the AllSpark, he both used it to transform Earth into a new Cybertron Transformers Comic issue 9 and personally bonded with it, being able to channel its power. Ratchet was forced to destroy it to stop it. Transformers Comic issue 13 However, a fragment survived: due to the nature of the Cube, it could end up possessing the same power as the original AllSpark. However, there was a risk that Megatron's link to it has corrupted the Cube. Ratchet was assigned to guard it Transformers Comic issue 14 but eventually weakened and decided to use the fragment to revive Jazz—who was reborn as an amoral villain, proving the fragment had been indeed corrupted. Transformers Comic issue 16

On the dying Cybertron, Stockade and his small band of Decepticons sent out a signal into deep space in the hope of contacting any entity related to the AllSpark, and drawing it to Cybertron so it could revive the planet. They succeeded; unfortunately, the entity was not a nice one at all Transformers Comic issue 18 and possessed the entire planet before it was finally stopped.

The AllSpark was found in 1913, 16 years after the N.B.E.-01 "Iceman" was found, though carbon dating tests indicated that Cube landed on Earth some twelve thousand years earlier. The glyphs on the Cube were similar to the ones on the Iceman, indicating a link between the two. In order to hide the cube's energy signature from other humans and, potentially, from other N.B.E.s, the President had the Hoover Dam built around it. The Iceman was also moved to the dam for further study. It was eventually determined that the Cube emitted a radiation which could bring mechanical devices to life.

Years later, when Megatron eventually came back online due to the intervention of his soldiers, Sam Witwicky convinced Sector Seven (with the help of Captain William Lennox's men) to release Bumblebee, explaining he could help. Bumblebee interacted with the cube and prompted it to collapse from an enormous monolith into a object less than half a meter across, and accordingly lesser in mass as well as volume. Bumblebee and a military escort, soon joined by the Autobots, took the Cube to Mission City, where Sam ran through the city avoiding the Decepticons. Along the way, Sam stumbled, and the AllSpark released a wave of energon radiation which animated several nearby machines into living robots. During the battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron, the Autobot leader told Sam to merge the Cube with his spark.

However, Sam instead merged it with Megatron's spark, destroying both Megatron and the All Spark. Gazing at his dead brother for one last time, Optimus fished a fragment of the All Spark out of Megatron's chest.

Without a means to restore their homeworld, the Autobots elected to remain on Earth, and Prime sent a message to inform the surviving Autobots of their new found home. Transformers (2007)

IDW Transformers movie comics
A month after the events in Mission City, the Autobots went to a secret Sector Seven facility located in the Nevada desert to escort the remains of the deactivated Decepticons. When the AllSpark shard pulsed with energy near Megatron's corpse, Optimus Prime feared the worst and handed it to Professor Vine for safekeeping. After the Autobots left, Agent Simmons convinced Vine to take the shard into their underground facility, since to keep it in the open would only attract Decepticons, though Vine had misgivings considering the stasis-locked Wreckage was also in the same facility. Optimus Prime, feeling something was wrong, ordered Ironhide and Bumblebee to go back to the Nevada facility to retrieve the AllSpark fragment. As Simmons and Vine are moving the relic into secure storage, it suddenly flies out of their hands and onto Wreckage's chest, reactivating the very angry Decepticon and Sector Seven's own L.M.-1 units. During Wreckage's rampage, Vine was convinced that they had to find the shard before it caused more havoc, but he was caught in the blast of Starscream's attack on his fellow Decepticon and killed. Alliance issue 2

In the aftermath of the attack, Simmons was more interested in finding the fragment of the AllSpark than mourning the death of Vine. Salani retrieved the All Spark ahard from the rubble and returned it to Optimus Prime. Eventually, the Autobots and the American military entered into a formal alliance to defend Earth. The AllSpark fragment was stored in a bunker under their base on the island of Diego Garcia. Alliance issue 3

After the death of the Fallen, the mysterious group known as Initiative began attempting to recreate the AllSpark. Nefarious issue 1

Revenge of the Fallen movie
According to The Fallen, the Cube so venerated by the Transformers was merely a vessel. When Sam Witwicky destroyed the Cube to kill Megatron, he unknowingly absorbed the knowledge of the AllSpark, lying dormant within his mind.

After listening to a conversation between NEST and General Morshower, Soundwave sent Ravage and Reedman to retrieve the All Spark fragment from Diego Garcia. Scalpel used it on Megatron when he dived to the Laurentian Abyss to resurrect him.

However, the shard in NEST's custody was not the only surviving piece of the All Spark. When Sam Witwicky began packing for Princeton University, a sliver of the AllSpark fell out of the hoodie he wore during the battle of Mission City. Not only did it create the Appliancebots, but it also began to flood Cyberglyphics into Sam's mind and awaken the knowledge stored within him. Sam only realized this after his disastrous first day of class, and asked Mikaela to bring the fragment to him. Sam and Mikaela later used the fragment to revive Jetfire, who was slumbering in the Smithsonian. Revenge of the Fallen (film)

Revenge of the Fallen movie adaptations
Sam became a new vessel for the AllSpark, transferring its knowledge from the Cube's remains to him. It lay dormant in his mind for two years, inadvertently increasing his intelligence and getting him a scholarship to Princeton University, and was only activated when he discovered the Cube shard from his shirt. When Megatron killed Sam, the information was transferred to the Matrix of Leadership, which was created by the AllSpark, effectively replacing the Cube as its physical form. After the death of the Fallen, Optimus Prime recovered the Matrix, reclaiming the history of the Transformers. Revenge of the Fallen issue 3 Revenge of the Fallen (novel)
In defense of the AllSpark, Sideswipe tried and failed to stop Barricade and Frenzy from stealing NEST defense deactivation codes. Cyber Missions 6

Games
Transformers: Autobots/Decepticons
Throughout both games, the Autobots and Decepticons are racing to Hoover Dam to recover the AllSpark and Megatron's frozen body from Sector 7 control. As the Cube is approached, it creates drones from nearby equipment to defend itself, finally explaining the aggressive tendencies of the robots created on Earth.

In the Autobots ending, Create-a-Bot smashes Megatron in the chest with the cube, finally ending his god-mode and opening him up for attack, but in the process sacrifices himself so that Optimus Prime can finish the Decepticon leader once and for all.

Basically, the Decepticons version ends the same, but with the evil Blum-bot attacking Starscream so that Megatron can destroy the traitor. Unlike the Autobots version, however, Starscream seems largely unharmed, if not empowered. This doesn't end well for Create-A-Bot OR Starscream, though, as Megatron still destroys his former second-in-command, then kills the newbie for being "weak." Transformers Autobots/Decepticons

:Originally slated to be released in 2008, this item was held back and was instead released in new packaging as part of the Milton Bradley's Revenge of the Fallen merchandise line. While it comes in the standard Rubik's Cube colors, the cube itself is cast in light grey plastic and the patterns seen on the movie All Spark are printed on the colored facets, as well as an Autobot and Decepticon sigil on the white and yellow faces, respectively. This actually makes this version harder than the original Rubik's Cube, as the center faces must be properly aligned so that the patterns match up correctly. It comes with a grey stand with vacuum metallization on one of the three embossed Rubik's logos.

Notes
*The first movie uses the parsing "All Spark".
*The movie's AllSpark was derived from hybridizing the concepts of Vector Sigma and the Matrix of Leadership, but the term "Matrix" was off limits because of the movie of the same name. Being the object that brought robotic life to Cybertron would also make it comparable to the Key to Vector Sigma of Generation 1.
*It was designed as a big cube because, in the original screenplay, it was going to be called the "Energon Cube" instead. Lip service to the original name was paid in the sequel by identifying it as Cybertron's main source of energon.
* In July 2007, several items from the 2007 movie were auctioned off on e-bay including the 'Hero' AllSpark prop used for closeups, with the money benefiting the Fisher House Foundation, a living facility attached to many US Military Hospitals. The auction collected 99 bids and the prop was sold for US $20,100.
* Before Revenge of the Fallen, Transformers The Game identified energon as being the power produced by the Cube.
* There are only two fragments seen or heard of in the movie yet in Jazz bio he states Ratchet revied him with a fragment as well.

Ratchet was forced to destroy it to stop it. Transformers Comic issue 13 However, a fragment survived: due to the nature of the Cube, it could end up possessing the same power as the original AllSpark.

* There are only two fragments seen or heard of in the movie yet in Jazz bio he states Ratchet revied him with a fragment as well
Many years before the civil war on Cybertron, Jazz was a member of the Security Force under Prowl. As Optimus pondered the venerable age of the artifacts they had found at an excavation near the temple of Simfur, Jazz jokingly asked if they were as old as Ratchet, earning him a threat of vocal processor-disabling retribution and a wack on the back of the head. He was present when Arcee's team found a strange artifact with the strange symbol and helped escort the relic out of the dig site when the aliens whom Commander Starscream had encountered earlier suddenly attacked the planet. Defiance issue 1

In the aftermath, Jazz accompanied Prowl as the latter investigated the attack on the Simfur temple. Prowl theorised that the aliens were trying to break into the temple, not destroy it, Jazz opinied that they must have been after the All Spark. When Megatron rallied Cybertron's inhabitants to war against the alien attackers, Jazz and most of the others in the science and security division loyally stayed at Optimus's side to uphold the ideals of Cybertron. Later, when Prime mentioned Megatron's questionable behavior and wished there was unity in the population, Jazz pointed out that he had the same chance of convincing Megatron to be unified as they do of being considered part of his army. Realising sentries such as Prowl and Jazz had access to Megatron's personal quarters, Prime asked them for a favour. Defiance issue 2
Jazz accompanied Optimus and Prowl to Megatron's quarters, where Optimus discovered that the relic previously unearthed seemed to have been restored by Megatron himself. Later, Jazz was part of the team sent to arrest Optimus for treason. However, on the way to Trypticon, the group were ambushed by members of the Defense Force sent to kill them. Optimus directed the others in a successful counter attack and ordered the group to rally at Burthov. Defiance issue 3
Later after it was discovered that Megatron was building a massive starship for some unknown purpose, Jazz was the one who suggested they should have their own ship as well, just in case. During the subsequent civil war, Jazz fought alongside Optimus Prime in their struggle for freedom, but as the war reached its height, Optimus decided to launch the All Spark into space to keep it out of Lord Megatron's hands and to buy them time. Defiance issue 4 Bumblebee was successful in diverting the Decepticon leader's attention at Tyger Pax, but was grievously injured as a result. ===Ghosts of Yesterday prequel novel===
Onboard the Ark, Jazz was the first to detect the Ghost 1's presence, and the first to point out that, despite the Cybertronian elements in its design, it did not originate from Cybertron. He was in favor of blowing it up anyway, as he agreed with Ironhide that there was a chance it could be a Decepticon ruse. After Bumblebee was sent to follow the ship down to a nearby planet, Ironhide and Optimus joked that Jazz would have made a poor scout.

When Blackout mounted an attack on the Ark, Jazz and Ironhide backed up Optimus. Jazz was unhappy when the plan changed, and the two Autobots were sent back to guard the ship, but they got to expel Bonecrusher from the hangar, and had the damage done repaired by the time Optimus returned. Jazz lost contact with Bumblebee, resulting in Optimus going down to the planet to check. While Optimus was gone, the Decepticons attacked once again, and Jazz came up with a new plan. Jazz kept the Decepticons distracted, while Ironhide attempted to approach the Nemesis through a sensor blind-spot.

Unfortunately the plan was ruined by the return of Starscream, and Jazz suffered a large amount of damage. Ironhide got the smaller Autobot back to the Ark, where Jazz was insistent that situation was bad enough that they should leave the area without Optimus and Bumblebee, as Prime has originally ordered. As it turned out, the two missing Autobots returned in time for it to not turn into an issue, and Optimus ordered another engagement. Despite his severe damage, Jazz was able to take out Frenzy and help Ironhide fight Bonecrusher. Ghosts of Yesterday
Jazz likes "to keep his bodywork buff" by externalizing his Spark Core forcefield - in the past, that led to him almost being killed when Bonecrusher almost tore out his unprotected Spark. When the All Spark was launched, Jazz, Ratchet and Ironhide attempted to distract Megatron from pursuing it. Jazz ended up on a planet that he dubbed "the Information Highway"—a constantly-morphing world with "the accumulated knowledge of countless alien cultures, condensed into some kind of sensory precipitation". He loved this world and the constant new experiences so much that he deliberately ignored Ratchet's homing beacon, wanting to stay here forever. However, the planet was alive and predatory, and ended up absorbing him into it - he fired off a warning buoy to stop others arriving, and only this led to Ratchet & Ironhide finding where he was and rescuing him. Transformers Comic issue 6
Unfortunately, it turned out the corrupted fragment had indeed led to Jazz himself being corrupted; he paralyzed Ratchet and attempted to exploit Earth's apocalypse by selling the newly energon rich planet to the highest bidder. His auction was interrupted by Dreadwing, who rejected an offer to join forces, and attacked. Ratchet revived and managed to destroy the energon field the auction was being held in; Jazz escaped in the resulting confusion. Dark Spark
He was left rattled when Optimus pointed out he could have let Kullt do the work for him and then gun him down, which suggested there was still some goodness in him. Jazz was part of Optimus Prime's unit, summoned to Earth by Bumblebee after the latter Autobot came to be in the possession of Sam Witwicky. After his protoform crashed through a baseball stadium, he investigated a nearby car dealership and chose a Pontiac Solstice hardtop as his vehicle mode.

Linking up with his fellow Autobots in a deserted alley, Jazz greeted Sam and Mikaela Banes as "little bitches," stating that Earth seems to be a cool place to hang out. He casually sat on the hood of another car while Optimus Prime explained to Sam they learnt Earth's languages through the internet. He then relayed their mission to find the All Spark and explained how his grandfather's glasses were the key to its location.

Soon after, as Sam looked for his grandfather's glasses, the Autobots attempted to assist by clumsily destroying the yard where they went. When it came to hide from the parents, Jazz had the easiest time blending into the shadows due to his small stature.

When Sam and Mikaela were captured by Sector Seven, the Autobots mounted a rescue that saw Optimus Prime tearing the roof off Agent Simmons's vehicle. When the agents attempted to resist, Jazz used a magnet to relieve the humans of their weapons. After Bumblebee was captured by Sector Seven during the retreat, Jazz expressed his desire to rescue him, but was overruled by Optimus Prime, who didn't believe it possible to accomplish this without harming the humans, and so they should let them go.

The next day, after Optimus used his navigation scanner on Archibald Witwicky's glasses, Jazz again commented that they could not leave Bumblebee to die at the hands of Sector Seven, to become a human experiment. Optimus replied that Bumblebee would die in vain if they did not find the All Spark, and when Ironhide asked if the primitive and cruel humans deserved to be saved, Optimus countered by asking if Transformers were so different in the past. Going on to explain what he saw in the humans, Prime declared that if it came to it, he would sacrifice himself to destroy the All Spark - the humans should not pay for Cybertron's mistakes. Inspired by his words, Jazz and the other Autobots rolled out, filled with determination.

On the way to Hoover Dam, the Autobots encountered Bumblebee leading a column of Sector Seven assault vehicles. Jazz and his fellow Autobots applied brakes and did a hard u-turn to join the formation.

Entering Mission City, the human soldiers tried to call for air support from their own forces, only to be attacked by Starscream disguised as a human F-22 fighter. Jazz, oddly, sat in vehicle mode after the explosion which crippled Bumblebee, destroying his legs. When Devastator began shelling the battle site, Jazz led the Autobot charge toward the Decepticon, speeding to the tank in vehicle mode, then transformed and hopped on top of the turret to distract the Decepticon from the humans. As Devastator also transformed, Jazz managed to wreck his left-side rocket launcher pod before being tossed off. He then sped back to the battle, firing at Devastator, while Ratchet sliced of Devastator's left arm.

Jazz tried to delay Megatron when he appeared on the scene in order to cover the escape Captain Lennox's men and civilians. Despite Lennox's cries for him to fall back, Jazz bravely faced Megatron alone, but all he got for his trouble was being blasted by the Decepticon's fusion cannon. As Ironhide and Ratchet escorted Sam and the All Spark to safety, Megatron preyed upon the small Autobot who had the audacity to attack him. The Decepticon leader tossed him through the air, then landed upon him with the crushing grip of his talons. Valiantly, Jazz fought on to the bitter end as Megatron tore him in two, throwing his pieces to the ground before attacking Optimus Prime.
After being separated from Sam Witwicky, Ratchet hurried to Jazz, but his spark had already faded. Jazz was able to get the data, despite being outnumbered by remote vehicles, returned to the rendevous point, which he reported that he was able to find an entrance to the base and Bumblebee, but could not find Megatron and the AllSpark. Jazz tells Optimus that resuing Bumblebee be their first priority because of Bumblebee's tracking ability, which Optmus agrees. **Accessories Telescoping "sword" (rifle)

:Jazz transforms into a silver Pontiac Solstice Custom Hardtop. Included is a blaster weapon that elongates into a sniper rifle, which may also be clipped directly onto his rear spoiler when in vehicle mode. In robot mode, the section featuring this same rear spoiler may be kept folded onto his back or worn on either shoulder as a shield. An interesting undocumented feature is a hinge joint located on the bottom of the rifle can attach to the shield's hinge joint, creating three choice weapon configurations: (a) a mounted long range sniper rifle, (b) an ambidextrous shoulder-mounted cannon, or (c) a short range blaster with built-in shield somewhat akin to what has been seen in Jazz's concept art and in the movie itself.

:As with most of the mainline toys, he features a Automorphing gimmick that is activated by pushing the car roof down onto his back and locking it into place. This raises his head and slides his chest panels into proper position for the robot mode. This feature, like the weaponry mentioned above, is not documented at all, so one must be careful to not press the chest and the back at the same time.

**Accessories Telescoping "sword" (rifle)

:An extensive redeco of Deluxe class Jazz, this Target-exclusive is heavily based on Generation 1 Jazz's Martini Racing scheme. He's lacking in Martini sponsorship for all the obvious reasons, replacing them with his own name. Disco Jazz doesn't really need to advertise, but he does.

:This figure also features a minor retool of the joint in the forearm. On the initial, mass retail release of Deluxe Jazz, the black hinge-joint was able to slide over slightly as part of the original design. The new version features a shorter joint, which makes it a lot less floppy in robot mode. Cyberflies sold separately.
**Accessories: "Crescent Cannon", energy-blast missile

:An extensive retool of Jazz, modifying his head and most of his legs to give them a broken, battle-scarred appearance. Amusingly, because Hasbro chose to keep his vehicle mode pristine, the rest of his body is undamaged. All the damaged parts have a black and blue deco, representing glowing circuitry and exposed conduits.

:Jazz comes with a brand new spring-loaded weapon (called a Crescent Cannon on the packaging), partially modeled after the actual weapon Jazz appears with in the film. It can fire a transparent blue projectile and, not unlike his original featured weapon, can be mounted in different configurations: (a) Mounted on his right arm with the Crescent Cannon missile launcher (with the crescent up) facing forward a la the film, or (b) mounted on his left arm with the flip-out rifle barrel pointed forwards (with the crescent down). The cannon can actually be rotated on the connecting peg, allowing the gun to be mounted in either configuration on either arm.

:Unusual for a regular Deluxe class figure, this version of Jazz is packaged on his card in robot mode, no doubt to highlight the changes to the figure that would not be visible in the vehicle mode.

:In addition to the retooled forearm joint also found on the Target exclusive "G1 color" Jazz, a running change variant of Final Battle Jazz adds another peg to the Crescent Cannon, thus allowing Jazz to use the weapon in all the different configurations on either arm.

:As part of the Robot Replicas line, this version of Jazz is a non-transforming action figure that utilizes Revoltech-style jointing. The sculpt hews much closer to the movie CGI model than is possible with the full transforming toys, plus the universal jointing of the line allows for his forearm to be replaced with the included Crescent Cannon (which is also called that on the toy's packaging), or parts from other Robot Replica figures. Jazz's shoulders are actually mounted on the wrong sides of the toy as compared to the Movie's CG design, but can easily swapped due to the toy's body construction.
:Titanium Series Jazz is a die-cast metal and plastic figurine, with an accurate sculpt based on the slender CG model owing to the fact he doesn't need to transform. Being a figurine, he only has articulation in his shoulders, neck and waist. Jazz is sculpted with a small handgun that was only featured in concept art early in film development that still showed Arcee as part of the main cast. *Autobot Jazz vs. Decepticon Frenzy (2007)

: This pack of cutely sculpted figurines features an oddly brown-coloured Frenzy.
*Protoform Jazz vs. Decepticon Brawl (2007)

:This Robot Heroes pack features a cutely murderous figurine of Brawl, and Jazz in his "Protoform" mode. Considering the generic nature of the protoforms, Protoform Jazz can easily represent any of his other three companions who crash landed to Earth. Like many Robot Heroes, he's jointed at the shoulders and neck.
*The Final Battle (2008)

: Packaged with Autobot Ratchet, Megatron, Blackout, and Optimus Prime, "Battle Damage" Jazz is a slightly redecoed version of the first two pack version. His exclusive deco involves a black paint wash and black-lined cracks over a shiny silver painted finish. The Final Battle 5-pack was sold exclusively in Walmart stores.
*Battle Jazz vs Megatron (2008)

:Once again the first Jazz sculpt is given a battle damage deco. This time black cracks and starbursts are painted over dull unpainted silver plastic.
Notes
* The packaging text for the Deluxe Jazz figure refers to his weapon as a "telescoping sword". As ridiculous as this sounds, considering this weapon looks like a firearm and can attach to his spoiler in vehicle mode as such, this very idea actually comes from concept drawings of a sword weapon featured on the same concept art that also had Jazz showcasing the short range blaster/shield thingy both featured in the film and included with his Final Battle retool. So, really...not that ridiculous anymore.

* According to a press kit sent out in conjunction with the movie, Jazz has a "near-perfect recordable memory that makes him invaluable as a documenter of battles" and is "equipped with a fusion engine that allows him to reach sub-light speeds in vehicle mode." One, uh, would hope a Pontiac Solstice would be travelling at sub-light speeds...

* During the final battle in Mission City, there's a long period during which Jazz is not doing anything. He's standing around in vehicle mode when Ironhide notices that the F-22 flying above the city is Starscream, stays in vehicle mode when Ironhide and Bumblebee pick up a Furby delivery truck for cover, still remains in vehicle mode when Starscream blasts them, and after Sam discovers that Bumblebee has lost his legs, all Jazz does is pull back for a few feet to give Bumblebee space to crawl. In the end, Jazz doesn't really join the battle at all until Brawl shows up.

* In an earlier draft of the movie script, Megatron was supposed to "consume" the sparks of Autobots he killed. A remainder of this can be found in the novelization and the IDW comic adaptation of the movie, which both explicitly state that Megatron tears out Jazz's spark. In the movie itself, however, Megatron simply appears to kill Jazz by ripping him apart at the waist, even though Frenzy was previously able to survive as a detached head. However, a recent rejiggering of Frenzy's biology makes this a moot point.

*Jazz's manner of speech is a late development. In the early script draft his first line in the film is simply saying "Greetings" to the humans.

* Though it is very brief, Jazz does indeed get a face close-up during the Mission City battle when he is shot by Megatron and falls over in pain, before he is ripped in half.

* In an appeal to his better nature in Titan, Optimus said part of him was "still Autobot Jazz", a reference to the name of the Jazz toys.

* Jazz was included in the downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of the Revenge of the Fallen game. Apparently over-compensating for not being in the movie, Jazz is pretty much the most dangerous robot ever. If you play against him, just run.

* In both of his console game appearances for the first movie game and the second Jazz was not seen wearing his iconic visor.
* It is unknown how Ratchet optained yet another piece of the allsprk to revive Jazz.
