The binary-bonding process made the callow playboy into a double-barreled nuclear-powered flamethrower, capable of liquefying metal and barbecuing Galen alive. But the Decepticons' defeat and subsequent exile from [[Nebulos]] left Singe bitter, hateful, and unfulfilled. His friends call '''Ricochet''' ''mercurial''--to his face. Under their breath, they might mutter ''manic depressive''. Ricochet shifts without notice between a furious passion for combat and sulking, angst-y depression, needing to be coerced and cajoled onto the battlefield. His fellow Nebulan Boomer takes it on himself to cheer up Ricochet when this happens. Fortunately, he's good at this.

On Nebulos, Ricochet was a renowned environmental sculptor (think, "landscaping as a fine art") who witnessed the destruction of several of his famous sculptures by the Decepticons. Stung by the perceived insult, he signed up to join the Autobots.

Ricochet was bio-engineered to turn into an automatic sub-machine gun that fires titanium-tipped, armor-piercing explosive rounds. As a Nebulan Targetmaster partner, Ricochet is able to combine with Boomer to increase the power of his own weapon or boost the power of Boomer's sonic pulse cannon.

Ricochet responds poorly to criticism.

Though Ricochet does not appear in the comic, the Terrorcons (and specifically Blot) are shown destroying several elaborately designed trees in the Nebulan city of Splendora. This could be the vandalism which caused Ricochet to join the Autobots.

Ricochet and Boomer were paired with Quickmix on Cybertron during a series of fuel raids with the recently revived Grimlock, Jazz and Bumblebee. When Galvatron attacked some months later, Ricochet, Boomer and the other Nebulan "double" Targetmasters were absent during their Autobot partners' fight with Galvatron.

Unless, of course, she doesn't actually exist. The only mention of Clio and Patra comes from [[Blaster]]'s letters column from the UK comic book telling the "true" tale of the Transformers, replying to a letter from a [[human]] comic-reader who had seen a commercial for the "Clio" car that had the vehicle transform into a robot, and suggested the Autobots recruit it. Blaster said they'd been beaten to that punch.

Blaster could very well be making it all up as a joke. The Transformers who have answered human mail tend to be jokesters or flat-out insulting towards their readership.

[[Mindwipe]] hypnotized her, and she ordered the bystanding politicians into the safety of a nearby building, where they fell prey to one of the Decepticons' experiments. She and the rest were concealed inside [[polymer alloy bubble]]s and began floating helplessly into the atmosphere. Though Zarak wished to save his daughter, Scorponok's influence was too strong, and it was up to the Autobots to rescue her before she floated off into space. The Decepticons took advantage of this distraction, and the Autobots were defeated. Thankfully for Lord Zarak, the hypnotism blocked most of the event from his daughter's memory, and she believed that he had saved her from her power-hungry ex-fiance.

Lord Zarak soon began to realize the monster he was becoming, and so he orchestrated a series of events, which included the release of Galen and the Autobots, which would necessitate the evacuation of both Autobot and Decepticon from the planet.<ref>[[Brothers in Armor]], Headmasters #4</ref> Llrya met with Galen one final time, where he lied to her, claiming he was heading off-planet for conquest. His friends tell him "Ignorance is bliss." He doesn't get it, and even if he did Boomer isn't one to take offense, because that's just the kinda guy he is. As the head of the Consumer Complaint Agency on Nebulos he dealt with thousands of angry citizens all day. Boomer's trademark brand of loud, infectious good-hearted enthusiasm was his only marketable skill. Boomer thought that in comparison fighting Decepticons should be easy, so he joined the Autobots.

Boomer was bio-engineered to turn into a sonic pulse cannon, which generates sound-waves or different intensities and frequencies that can be used for either the gentlest effect, or to shatter steel. As a "double" Targetmaster, Boomer is able to combine with Ricochet to increase the power of his own weapon, or boost the power of Ricochet's submachine gun.

Boomer frequently has to soothe the impatient Quickmix or cheer up his depressive partner Boomer. Fortunately, he doesn't mind.

A planet of humanoids that had lived without war for thousands of years. A group of Autobots led by [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]] sought to relocate to Nebulos in order to escape their own millenia-old conflict on Cybertron, but their arrival created dissension and mistrust within the Nebulan community. The arrival of a group of [[Decepticon]]s led by [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]] soon afterward only escalated these tensions, and Nebulos' age of peace was lost as citizens binary-bonded to Transformers on both sides of the conflict to become [[Headmaster]]s and [[Targetmaster]]s.

Realizing the damage that was being done to Nebulos' once-peaceful culture, the Autobots abandoned the planet to join Transformers already on the planet [[Earth]], believing (correctly) that the Decepticons would pursue them off-Nebulos.

After this the citizens of Nebulos tainted their own energy sources so as to be poisonous to any Transformers that might seek to return to their world. When Decepticons [[Darkwing (G1)|Darkwing]] and [[Dreadwind (G1)|Dreadwind]] arrived soon after the departure of the other Transformers, they soon found themselves victim of this poisoning, and lay dormant for a time. They were later revived by Nebulan traitors [[Hi-Test]] and [[Throttle (G1)|Throttle]], who had stolen power-conversion plans that eventually created the [[Powermaster]]s. Hi-Q, the creator of this process, eventually binary-bonded with a reborn [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], and several of his staff joined with other Autobots, in order to combat the threat posed by Darkwing and Dreadwind. They, too, eventually left Nebulos to join the other Transformers on Earth.

Nebulons are extremely human-like aliens who possess green skin and dark green or white hair. Their facial features seem to tend towards a rather Native American cast. Several Transformers crashed on Nebulos. A small band of Nebulon rebels, led by [[Gort]], captured the Autobots, believing them to be Hive machines. The Decepticons were captured by the Hive. Convincing the rebels that they are not Hive machines, the Autobots volunteered to help, offering up four of their own to serve as Headmasters, with Nebulon partners inside their heads to serve as secondary operators.

The series ended but hints of a conflict between Zarak and [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] for leadership were present.

Zarak talks in an almost monotone voice, showing little emotion and never anger. While he retains his body, he is never shown to walk without his Headmaster suit and may be a paraplegic. One eye is also drawn closed, he may be blind in it or missing it.

Animation errors also abound in these episodes, as Zarak, both with and without his suit, is drawn as both human and Transformer sized, which fluctuates between scenes.

Zarak is a Decepticon who left Cybertron long ago with the rest of the Headmaster robots. His size is inconsistent, sometimes appearing [[Master]] sized, and sometimes appearing transformer sized. After Scorponok captured [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]], and with her the [[Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber]], the Hive departed Nebulos with their new partners, and entered into an somewhat uneasy alliance with the Decepticon leader, [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]].

The first glimpse we get of them is during an exposition flashback shown while [[Gort]] explains the circumstances on Nebulos to the Autobots. They are seen from behind while seated in chairs, heavily shadowed, with only the backs of their heads visible. They appear to have hair.

The first "live" look at the Hive comes later as they observe the Autobot Headmasters trashing some of their machines. They are again seen from behind while seated in chairs, in even darker shadow then before. Only the figure sitting to Zarak's right clearly appears to have hair, the others have oddly shaped heads that look more like helmets, or the heads of robots.

Later, we see the backs of the seated Hive's heads in silhouette again, this time observing a battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons. Those odd shapes seen previously are not present, as the figures seen have basically smooth and oval shaped heads.

After the Decepticons have been captured and are deposited before the Hive, we get our first real glimpse at the Hive from the front, in full light. It is a very brief glimpse, lacking in detail, but here the Hive appear to be organic beings dressed in Nebulan-style garb. Lord Zarak, despite his supposedly withered body, appears rather heavily muscled.

Shortly thereafter, as the Hive and the Decepticons come to their agreement, save for Zarak and the man seated to his right, the members of the Hive no longer resemble Nebulans. Instead, they appear to be [[Lithone]]-style robots. They will continue with this appearance until they have bonded with the Decepticons and gained their exo-suits.

The man who was seated next to Zarak, and did not appear robotic, seems to be Grax. Although when we later see Grax as he reports to Zarak on the completion of modifications to the Decepticon heads and weapons, he is not an exact match for Zarak's right-hand man. His eyebrows and mustache are dark, rather than the previous white, and overall he appears somewhat more slender. However, his clothes do match.

The Battle Beasts did get some outside fiction in the US, in the form of a short-lived (four issues) [[Blackthorne]] comic book. Good luck finding it.

==Toys==
Battle Beasts/Beastformers are soft-plastic figurines of anthropomorphic animals in robotic armor, each about 1.5 inches tall, with posable arms and a unique weapon accessory. Their primary gimmick is the use of [[rubsign]]s. In the initial Takara releases, they came in ''Transformers''-style boxes.

Their rubsigns were used to play a variation of "Rock-Paper-Scissors". Each Beast could have one of three "elements" revealed by the rubsign: Wood, Fire or Water. Wood beats Water, Water beats Fire, and Fire beats Wood. A rare fourth element, Sunburst ("Burstsun" in Japan), could beat any other, though this symbol was introduced late in the line. Since the symbols were heat-activated, it was impossible to determine what each toys' symbol was until the toys were freed from their packaging. (Reportedly, only [[White Leo]] was available as a "Burstsun" warrior in Japan.) The [[Hasbro]] line packaged them as two-packs with randomized pairings, while the [[Takara]] series had individual boxes with bio cards. All Beastformers who came in ''Transformers'' packaging were re-packaged to fit with the new ''Beastformers'' brand. Numerous multi-packs --with [[exclusive]] variations-- were released in Japan as well.

Towards the third wave release, the rubsigns were reworked so they featured full-color ilustrations, rather than the black-on-mood-ring-colors of the old signs.

Vehicles were also introduced to the line, motorized "Battle Chariots" and transforming "Battle Bases" that unfolded into large playsets.

An evolution of the gimmick was planned for both sides of the world, replacing the rubsigns with clear marbles that would reveal their element when looked through into a light source. The US/Europe version of these toys, dubbed the '''Battle Beasts Shadow Warriors''', never made to it wide release, though packaged samples of the toys have been uncovered. In Japan, the entire range made it to retail, under the name '''Laser Beasts''', likely named as such due to the combination of their light-based gimmick, and that the melee weapons of old were replaced with blaster-rifles. However, the Laser Beasts came out well after the Beastformers had removed all their ties to ''Transformers'' (and, as such, will not be covered extensively on this wiki).

''Rising from his beginnings as a gladiator for the city-state of [[Tarn]],'' Megatron and the Decepticons were the ones who developed transformation first, using it to begin the war against the Autobots, who fought back by mimicking the technology. In time, the war grew so fierce that Cybertron itself was shaken from its orbit, and set adrift in the cosmos. Eventually, four million years ago, the planet fell into the path of an asteroid cluster in the Sol system that threatened to destroy it, and so Optimus Prime led a contingent of his troops in the Ark to reduce the asteroids to rubble, saving Cybertron. The plan was a success, but immediately afterwards, Megatron and his troops attacked, forcing Optimus Prime to crash the Ark into prehistoric Earth.

Four million years later, in 1984, the Transformers were reawakened, and Megatron immediately set about trying to locate a source of fuel for the Decepticons. Unable to ingest common Earth gasoline, the Decepticons kidnapped [[Sparkplug Witwicky]] and forced him to develop a conversion process, but this only afforded him the chance to poison their fuel, deactivating them all. The Autobots were not saved, however, as [[Shockwave_(G1)|Shockwave]] then defeated them all and brought the Decepticons back online to serve him - including Megatron. Chafing under his command, Megatron battled Shockwave, but was soundly defeated, forcing him into an alliance with [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]], who located and reactivated the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]], who had defeated Shockwave in the past. However, Ratchet loosed them on Megatron, and was willing to sacrifice himself to knock Megatron off a cliff. While Ratchet survived, Megatron disappeared for some time.

Soon, however, Megatron re-emerged, trapped in pistol mode, his higher brain functions disconnected. Used as a weapon by wannabe gangster, [[Joey Slick]], Megatron eventually restored himself, and was impressed enough with Slick for standing up to him that he allowed him to live. But at this point, Megatron was desperately low on fuel, and attacked a coal mine, attempting to locate some, when he eventually completely ran out, and froze in place. He was soon located by [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]], who brought him back online, and they subsequently entered into an alliance with the human [[Donny Finkleberg]], who used the alias of "Robot Master" to con humankind into thinking the Transformers worked for him. Shockwave and Megatron entered into a period of shared leadership, but when a two-pronged attack by the Autobots saw Megatron defeated by [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]], and Shockwave allowing the Autobots to capture the secrets of [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]], Megatron was able to spin the situation and reclaim his leadership.

In order to attain possession of a new energy-generating device, the hydrothermacline, Megatron battled Optimus Prime in a video game duel, using a cheat code to continue the fight after he had lost. Prime defeated him again, but at the expense of some of the game's characters, and ruled himself the loser because he would not have committed such an act in real life. Prime was destroyed, and Megatron's elation soon turned into paranoia, as he had not killed Prime with his own hands, and believed he could still be alive. Eventually descending into insanity, Megatron boarded the spacebridge to Cybertron and detonated it with his fusion cannon, apparently killing himself.

That would be all the US comics saw of Megatron for quite some time, ''but their sister title in the UK, which produced its own material, interspliced with the US stories, soon brought back the great slag-maker for more adventures. Prior to Megatron's seeming death, there had been a story which had seen both him and Prime transported to Cybertron, where the disembodied local Decepticon leader, [[Straxus|Lord Straxus]], attempted to possess his body. The attempt failed, but Straxus made another attempt with a specially-crafted clone of Megatron, which was transported to Earth soon after the real Megatron vanished. The clone believed itself to be the real thing - as did the comics' readers, thinking that the spacebridge explosion had transported Megatron elsewhere on Earth - and after a battle with the mechanoid, Centurion, it was salvaged by Shockwave, who brainwashed it and unleashed it on [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], a recreated future version of Megatron who had traveled back in time from the year 2006 and posed a threat to Shockwave's leadership. The clone Megatron, however, saw a possible partner in Galvatron, and the two teamed up to battle Autobots and Decepticons from both present and future in the apocalyptic "Time Wars". The stage was now set for Megatron's return in the US comics, as he had his [[Micromaster]] Sports Car patrol capture the Autobot medic, Ratchet, and forced him to recreate Starscream as a [[Pretender]]). Ratchet did so, but also restored [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]], [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] in the same manner, thwarting his scheme. When Megatron then attempted to flee through a trans-time dimensional portal, Ratchet tackled him as his base then exploded around them, apparently killing them both.

Soon after, however, Autobot detective [[Nightbeat (G1)|Nightbeat]] discovered that the explosion had actually blown them through the portal, and he dispatched a probe to pull them back from the gaps between reality. However, when they rematerialised, it was revealed that the explosion had fused the two enemies together, into a hideous, twisted mockery of a being, which ran rampant through the Ark. The half that was Ratchet begged Optimus Prime to kill them, but Prime could not, and had the Micromaster, Fixit, separate their bodies. Unfortunately, Fixit could not separate their minds, as the two discovered when they were reactivated with [[Nucleon]] - sharing each other's thoughts, feeling, sensations and sights, Ratchet attempted to break the cycle by crashing the Ark on Earth.

After the end of the G1 comics, the final UK annual printed a text story entitled "Another Time And Place", which followed up on the events of the Ark crash, and saw Bludgeon and his followers locate Megatron's body and revive it with Nucleon, only for him to be defeated by Optimus Prime and Grimlock. This, of course, clashes with the US G2 comic - but it does ''not'' clash in with the alternate first issue of the UK G2 comic (other UK G2 issues were simply reprints of US material), in which Megatron simply attributes his new body to human scientists, with no further explanation to contradict the events of "Another Time and Place".

Although thought dead for a year or two, Megatron had actually survived the Ark crash, and had quietly worked to repair it, concealing it beneath the ground (apparently, Ratchet died in the crash, as their shared mind does not come up in the story). Tracking a transforming signal mistakenly believing it was another Transformer, Megatron came across the shape-shifting castle of the terrorist organisation, [[Cobra]], and entered into a bargain with its leader, [[Cobra Commander]], offering him the technology of the Ark in exchange for the new weapons his organisation was developing. Reconstructed into a new tank body, with a powerful rail gun, Megatron defeated a squad of Autobots sent to stop him, and then turned on Cobra, capturing the scientist who had developed his gun, [[Dr. Biggles-Jones|Doctor Biggles-Jones]], and escaping in the airborne Ark. Following a climactic battle with [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]], Megatron then battled and soundly defeated Bludgeon, reclaiming leadership of the Decepticons and stealing the Matrix from Optimus Prime, using it to bring his newest warriors online - only to have his faction bested by the forces of [[Jhiaxus (G2)|Jhiaxus]] and his second-generation Cybertronians. Megatron is a Decepticon, one of the lineal descendants of the military hardware robots created by the [[Quintessons]] on their factory world of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Following a war between the Decepticons and the other robot race, the [[Autobot|Autobots]], the Decepticons were defeated by the Autobots' invention of transformation, which allowed them the advantage of stealth. The Autobot victory in the war began the [[Golden Age of Cybertron]], but a viper lurked within this paradise, as the Decepticons too eventually developed transformation, eventually leading to the creation of Megatron.

Gathering a small number of troops together, Megatron made a small strike on an outer city, killing the current Autobot leader. However, this event was not made public knowledge, and young robots like the naive [[Orion Pax (G1)|Orion Pax]] still looked up to Megatron and his followers because of their new robot-mode flight powers. However, Pax soon learned the error of his ways when Megatron duped him into allowing him access to [[Energon]] warehouses, and Megatron fatally injured him in a scuffle. However, the ancient Autobot, [[Alpha Trion]], reconstructed Pax into a battle hardy configuration - now, he was [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], leader of the Autobots and Megatron's sworn opponent as the civil war erupted again.

Eventually, the war drained Cybertron of most of its energy, necessitating that both factions seek out new worlds and new sources of power. Megatron and his elite forces pursued the Autobots' craft, (referred to as the [[Ark|The Ark]] in Beast Wars, following the ship's name from the G1 Marvel Comics) in their star cruiser (referred to as the [[Nemesis]] in Beast Wars) and attacked and boarded the craft, causing it to crash on a prehistoric planet, entombing all on the ship in emergency stasis as it crashed into a dormant volcano.

Four million years later, a volcanic eruption reactivated the Transformers and the war began again on the energy-rich world they found themselves on; Earth. After their first series of battles, the Autobots believed Megatron and the Decepticons destroyed when their new space cruiser crashed into the [[Pacific Ocean]], but in reality they survived and reconstructed the cruiser to serve as a sub-oceanic staging base and bunker. Megatron re-established contact with Cybertron, and began construction of an intergalactic transport system called a "space bridge," although the early tests nearly resulted in his destruction when he was sucked into the portal and teleported to Cybertron. The technology was eventually stabilised, however, and used in a grand scheme to transport Cybertron through space into Earth's orbit, where the natural disasters its gravity wreaked created tremendous energy that Megatron and the Decepticons gathered. The Earth was saved, however, when Megatron's stockpiles of energy were detonated by the Autobots, the explosion forcing Cybertron out of orbit. Again, however, Megatron was able to cheat death, and was forced to team up with Optimus Prime in order to stop the machinations of his treacherous lieutenant, [[Starscream_(G1)|Starscream]].

In his next scheme, Megatron absorbed all the separate powers of the other Decepticons into himself, and challenged Optimus Prime to one-on-one combat. With the added abilities of all his minions, Megatron easily defeated Prime in the battle, but when his deception was revealed, he and his followers were defeated in a group attack.

Over the following years, Megatron's schemes to obtain Earth's energies continued. His assorted plans included various attempts to harness the power of Earth's core, thefts of several unstable energy devices from human scientists, the draining of energy from a time-lost prehistoric island, and partnership with a human politician that allowed him to force the Autobots off of Earth, and actually allowed him to conquer Central City among [[Giant Purple Griffin|many]], many others.

Eventually, however, Megatron turned his attention away from Earth, and succeeded in completely conquering Cybertron by the Earth year 2005. Learning the Autobots were preparing a strike against the planet, Megatron and the Decepticons intercepted the shuttle sent to Earth to acquire energy to power the raid, and unleashed a mighty assault on [[Autobot City]]. In the course of the conflict, word was sent to Optimus Prime, who arrived the following morning after the slaughter and confronted Megatron in another one-on-one struggle. Megatron appeared beaten, but spying a discarded pistol, stalled for time by pleading for mercy as he attempted to reach it. The young Autobot Hot Rod then intervened, tackling Megatron, but the Decepticon was too powerful for him, seizing him and using him as shield as he grabbed the pistol and opened fire on Prime. The wounds were fatal and sent Prime to the grave - but not before he delivered his own final blow to Megatron, seriously damaging him and forcing the Decepticons to flee.

On the return trip to Cybertron, it became necessary to jettison excess mass, or the Decepticons would be unable to reach the planet. In the ''Return of Convoy'' storyline, a new evil force named [[Dark Nova]] recovered Galvatron's body, and restored him to life as '''Super Megatron''', pitting him against [[Optimus Prime (G1)#Battlestars: Return of Convoy (Japan-only)|Star Convoy]] (the reborn Optimus Prime) and his Autobots. Super Megatron didn't fare too well against his old adversary and was swiftly defeated. Dark Nova then upgraded him into '''Ultra Megatron''' who had a similar success rate.

For the final battle, Dark Nova merged with the remains of Ultra Megatron and formed the massive [[Dark Nova|Star Giant]]. Star Giant was virtually invincible from the outside, so Star Convoy, [[Grandus]] and [[Sky Garry]] traveled inside his body and began tearing up the joint. As soon as they'd inflicted enough damage, the trio escaped just as Star Giant detonated, leaving only his head some-what intact. Fortunately for Megatron, his body was stored within the head, allowing him to survive the explosion.

After [[Battlestars]], Megatron recovered from the Star Giant incident and returned to his original body. Appearing to have discarded his evil ways, he joined with Optimus Prime to form the [[Cybertron Alliance]] and ushered in the Second Generation of Transformers. However, after human soldiers killed one of his dearest comrades, he adopted a new body and began the war anew.

Megatron coordinated an onslaught of attacks which mortally wounded Optimus Prime (who had adopted a new missile trailer mode to counter Megatron). Megatron then delivered the fatal blow, personally, and believed his enemy dead. When Megatron attempted to gain access to that knowledge through exploration and research, the Cybertronian elders attempted to have him assassinated - a plan that only resulted in stirring up even more discontent among Cybertronians, allowing Megatron to begin recruiting for the Decepticon movement.

Megatron's forces began a civil war of Autobot against Decepticon in order to mask his reactivation of the ancient planetary engines buried beneath Cybertron’s surface. As a result, Cybertron would be transformed into a massive warworld that would cut a swathe of destruction through the galaxy. This plan failed. During a conflict with [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], Megatron's lieutenant [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] activated the planet mechaforming process too soon, resulting in the destruction of the machinery.

Roughly 7.4 million years BCE, Megatron and Optimus Prime disappeared in an early test of the then-unstable [[Space Bridge]] matter-transport system. Spending an undisclosed time on the planet [[Quintessa]], Megatron returned with an overwhelming army of lifeless [[Air Warrior|seeker clones]], quickly subjugating Cybertron. Four million years BCE, Cybertron was threatened by a massive approaching asteroid, so Optimus Prime led a contingent of Autobots aboard the [[Ark]] to blow the rock to fragments, which were transported away by an orbital Space Bridge network. When this task was completed, Megatron chose this moment to strike, attacking the Ark with his troops. Crippled, the craft flew through one of the Space Bridge portals, and was transported to prehistoric Earth, where it crashed, entombing the occupants in stasis for four million years.

The Autobots and Decepticons were reactivated in 1984, but specific details of the battles were unrecorded until 1999, when a Autobot/Human military alliance succeeded in capturing and deactivating the Decepticons. However, the [[Ark II]] spaceship carrying them back to Cybertron exploded shortly after liftoff, and the Transformers were believed destroyed. In actuality, they had been scattered back to Earth, where they lay in [[stasis lock]] across the globe for three years. This slumber was brought to an end when [[Lazarus|Adam Rook]] (aka Lazarus), a rogue military scientist who had devised a method of controlling Transformers, salvaged many of the fallen Cybertronians and reprogrammed them as mass killing machines, which he then attempted to sell on the black market. Megatron was first to break free of the human's control, overriding the new programming and capturing Lazarus during an auction. Megatron forced Lazarus to watch as he unleashed a technorganic virus designed to transform all of Earth into a new Cybertron. It also served to lure Optimus Prime and the Autobots, also now reactivated, to his location. Megatron, tired of the war, continuously asked Prime to join him. After his first failed attempt, Megatron unleashed [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]] on [[San Francisco]], ensuing in mass slaughter, in an attempt to show Prime the humans were not worth fighting for. However, the selfless sacrifice of several firemen restored Prime's faith in humanity and allowed him and the Autobots to beat back Megatron.

Several months later. Megatron was subliminally summoned to a remote area in Alaska along with the other Earthbound Transformers. There they battled until Megatron's former second-in-command, [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]], who had arrived and revealed that in their absence, the war on Cybertron had ended. He arrested Megatron, Prime, and their troops as war criminals. Megatron, weakened by battle, was quickly defeated by Shockwave and loaded aboard his shuttle for return to Cybertron, only to have Starscream seize the opportunity by jettisoning him into space on the return trip. Megatron used the time floating in space to contemplate his existence and the Decepticon goal. Realizing that he had wasted millennia in his feud with Prime, Megatron resolved to once again conquer Cybertron as a means to enhancing the Transformer race and strengthening it from outside threats. It seemed as through he would not live to accomplish this goal, however, as death closed in on him... only for him to be retrieved by the [[Junkion]] [[Wreck-Gar (G1)|Wreck-Gar]], who took him to the planet [[Junkion (planet)|Junkion]] and repaired and re-armed him, only to be killed in return.

Travelling to the Planet [[Beest]], Megatron defeated the exiled Decepticon warlords, the [[Predacon (G1)|Predacons]], and rebuilt them into the mightiest of all combiners, [[Predaking (G1)|Predaking]], to serve as his ace in the hole in his quest to reclaim leadership of the Decepticons. Moving in stealth on Cybertron, Megatron defeated Shockwave, severing his arm and forcing him into servitude. He then returned to Earth to collect the remaining Decepticons under Starscream's command, and to teach Starscream a lesson long in coming.

Megatron is established in the ''Infiltration'' arc as being extremely powerful. He emerges unscathed from the destruction by aerial bombardment of the [[Nebraska]] command bunker and takes two direct hits in the chest from Blitzwing's tank-mode cannon without breaking stride. A single shot from his arm cannon blew a massive hole clean through Skywarp, and he wrecked Blitzwing simply by grabbing his turret-cannon in one hand and swinging him into the ground. It's no great surprise that, even having sampled the power of [[Ore-13]], the remaining Decepticons under Starscream's command chose to back down rather than face Megatron in direct combat.

Their decision turned out to be a prudent one. Starscream, almost overdosed on Ore-13, launched a one-Decepticon assault on Megatron, yet even with its (supposedly) incredible power boosting his systems, Megatron was no more than scratched. The Decepticon leader then punished Starscream with a point blank shot from his fusion cannon.

This Megatron is definitely not the Maniacal Villain of original continuity. He is disciplined; the only emotion he ever expresses is anger, and he rarely lets it out of his control. He has little time for grand speeches or rants; he simply orders his wayward subordinates to stand down and informs them that "There is no room for mercy. In the end, you are ALL expendable."

Finally, he has a keen mind for strategy and a willingness to prioritise threats. Although the location of the [[Oregon]] command bunker became known to the Autobots, he chose to downgrade the infiltration unit's status from Starscream's premature Phase Five to Phase Two, presumably while he assesses how Earth and Ore-13 fit into the overall Decepticon plan of conquest. Shockwave was the only Decepticon not to crash on [[Earth]] in the [[Ark]], having stayed behind to pilot the Decepticon ship. After the crash of the Ark, he landed on Earth, where he was detected by the Ark's computer. It activated and reformatted the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]] to fight him. They battled in the [[Savage Land]], where both were eventually trapped in a tar pit for over four million years.

Shockwave was awakened shortly after the rest of the Transformers. He challenged Megatron for leadership, and won it. He held it until Megatron was able to defeat him with logic, but became leader again when Megatron apparently committed suicide on the [[space bridge]].

Shockwave lost leadership to Decepticon fuel auditor [[Ratbat]], and was apparently destroyed after losing a fight in space caused him to burn-up upon re-entry. In truth he survived, and resurfaced later, leading a small splinter group of Decepticons against [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]], including [[Mindwipe]] and the [[Battlecharger]]s. His resistance was cut short when all Transformers were teleported back to [[Cybertron]] to face the threat of [[Unicron]].

After the battle, Shockwave and [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] stole the Ark in order to escape the dying planet. Shockwave apparently died when the Ark crashed on Earth, shortly after getting his ass handed to him by the combined force of Megatron and [[Galvatron II]].

Shockwave was a Decepticon scientist on Cybertron six hundred thousand [[meta-cycles]] ago. He predicted the eventual destruction of Cybertron as a result of the Great War, and theorized that the war would spread across the galaxy. In anticipation of this, he seeded several worlds with an altered form of energon. (This is possibly the Ore 13 later found by Starscream.) After a long period of indeterminable length, at the beginning of the Ice Age on Earth, the Energon had become unstable, requiring Shockwave to place dampening devices across the worlds he'd seeded.

Before departing Cybertron, he was ordered to deal with an Energon raid by the [[Dynobot]]s. He did this by destroying the energon and severely injuring the Dynobots. Vowing revenge, they followed him when he left the planet.

Earth was the first world he visited to plant the devices on. Before he could leave though, his ship was destroyed and the Dynobots teleported down to attack him. The concept of the Dynobots illogical behaviour based off vengeance, along with the sheer force of their attack, left him off balance at first. Unable to win through logic, he developed thought patterns based off rage. This more brutal, violent Shockwave decimated the Dynobots, burning off the organic coatings shielding them from the planet's high energon fields, forcing them into [[stasis lock]]. Deactivating his new 'rage' program for further study, Shockwave was prevented by leaving the planet by a dead man's switch on the Dynobots ship. A massive beam of energy plowed into the ground, causing a volcanic eruption which consumed Shockwave and the Dynobots. {{storylink|Spotlight #1 Shockwave|Shockwave Spotlight}}

Megatron became suspicious of Shockwave's absence and assigned [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]] to search through Shockwave's files. When a large number of Prime's troops were then injured during the opening volleys of the war on [[Earth]], Prime arranged for the construction of new bodys, which the personalities were then programmed into, bringing Skids and the others to life "for a second time." Lying crippled and unable to transform, Skids was shortly discovered by register girl [[Charlene]], who, thinking he was an ordinary van, had him fixed up with the intent of keeping him for herself. Skids was open to the idea at first, preferring to live a peaceful life to that of a warrior, but after another bout of road rage with Dalrymple, the unearthly stunts he performed left him no option but to reveal his true nature of Charlene. A somewhat unusual [[Robot-Fleshling Romance|relationship]] ensued between the two, but more trouble soon came Skids's way in the form of [[Donny Finkleberg]], who was being hunted down by Ravage. Fleeing from the Decepticon with Charlene and Donny, Skids hid out at an abandoned mining town, but yet again, the raging Dalrymple tracked him down and shattered his windshield, knocking him unconscious and into a dream where he died through his refusal to attack Megatron and save Charlene. Reawakening, he engaged Ravage in battle again, finally finding the strength to act, and causing his foe to tumble down a mineshaft. Establishing a base in the ruined hulk of the Mini-Con ship on Earth's moon, Megatron waged a generally successful campaign against the Autobots, regularly capturing Mini-Cons and successfully combining the first two Mini-Con weapons, the [[Star Saber (Armada)|Star Saber]] and the [[Skyboom (Armada)|Skyboom Shield]]. Through the machinations of his tactician, [[Thrust (Armada)|Thrust]] (who was at the time indirectly being manipulated by [[Unicron]]), Megatron then acquired the final weapon, the [[Requiem Blaster]], which was with the other two served to power the newly-built [[Hydra Cannon]]. The destructive force of his new weapon was unleashed against Earth, but [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] took the blast to save the planet, killing himself in the process.

Prime's death plunged Megatron into a deep depression, having lost his greatest opponent without the chance to finish him with his own hands. Thankfully for all concerned, the Mini-Cons were able to resurrect Optimus, restoring Megatron to his former self - but he soon underwent another change that allowed him to surpass all he had been, when he was among the Transformers who had their powers boosted by their Mini-Cons. Renaming himself "Galvatron," he returned to Cybertron with a renewed vigour for conquest. However, the emergence of the threat of Unicron was ignored by Galvatron, forcing his lieutenant [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] to sacrifice himself to make his leader see the truth, and Galvatron again came to fear the end of his war in the face of Unicron's power. Galvatron entered Unicron's body along with Optimus Prime, and was absorbed into the demi-god's body and mind, but when the Autobots' human allies freed the Mini-Cons from Unicron's thrall, Galvatron too was freed. Believing the threat of Unicron to be over, he challenged Prime to a final duel. To turn the Decepticons to his side, Alpha Q forged a sword from Megatron's [[spark]], but when an enraged [[Scorponok (Energon)|Scorponok]] stabbed Megatron's corpse with the blade, Megatron was born anew. Taking the sword for his own, he proceeded to take over Unicron's body, sending Alpha Q fleeing in Unicron's head, and restarted his campaign against Earth and the Autobots, seeking energon to reactivate Unicron, who he would use as the ultimate weapon.

Megatron eventually succeeded in bringing Unicron to the vicinity of Cybertron and transforming the planet-eater to robot mode. However, in an attempt to stop him, Alpha Q rammed Unicron's head, charged with the positive energon of Earth, into Unicron's body. The resultant reaction between Earth's energon and the negatively-charged energon that powered Unicron tore a rupture in reality that led to a new region of space where Alpha Q recreated all the planets Unicron had consumed. Megatron immediately saw these new worlds as targets to acquire more energon, and after another series of attacks, Megatron successfully amassed enough to fully reanimate Unicron. However, the chaos-bringer's consciousness invaded Megatron's body, taking over his mind.

Although [[Optimus Supreme]] was able to destroy Unicron's body, his mind lived on, buried within Megatron, subtly directing him to attack Cybertron and uncover a reservoir of Super Energon beneath the planet's surface. Megatron immersed himself in the powerful liquid and underwent another power boost, once again taking the name of Galvatron. Quickly acquiring control of the planet, he forced the Autobots underground with energon gas and used the planet's Energon Towers to relocate Cybertron to Alpha Q's region of space. Once there, Galvatron once again soaked himself in Super Energon, growing to a colossal height, but as he did so, Unicron's influence totally seized control of his mind and directed him out into space to re-merge with his spark. Optimus Prime forced him into a battle, knowing that Galvatron's hatred of him would force his consciousness to surface again, and when it did, Prime drained Unicron's influence from Galvatron, sealing it within himself.

As the Autobots prepared to evacuate Cybertron in the wake of disasters caused by the black hole, Megatron struck, approaching the unprotected ancient Transformer [[Vector Prime]], and stealing a holographic map containing locations of the [[Cyber Planet Key]]s that could be used to seal the black hole. Operating out of a fiery pocket dimension, Megatron schemed to used the world-shaping power of the Cyber Planet Keys and their focal [[Omega Lock]] to accelerate the universal degeneration created by the black hole, destroying the universe and using the keys to remake it in his own image.

Leaving [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] and [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]] to search for the Omega Lock on Earth, Megatron located the resting place of the first Cyber Planet Key on [[Velocitron]], the Speed Planet. Recruiting the native troublemakers [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack]] and [[Crumplezone (Cybertron)|Crumplezone]] to do his bidding, he deduced that the planet's racing trophy was the key. After failing to defeat planet ruler [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]] in a race to learn more, however, he left Ransack and Crumplezone to compete in tournaments and win the trophy and turned his attention to the [[Jungle Planet]], home of the second Cyber Planet Key, where he ingratiated himself with planet ruler [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]]. Both missions ultimately ended in failure, however, when the Autobots acquired the keys.

Attempting to find the third key, Megatron discovered that he had been betrayed by Starscream when the planet map - in reality, a duplicate switched out by Starscream - led him to a dead sector of space and sealed him within a metallic sphere. Scourge was able to liberate him a short time later, but in that time, Starscream had obtained the third Cyber Planet Key, from Earth, for himself, along with the Omega Lock and other keys. Megatron made a beeline for his treacherous lieutenant, but was intercepted by the Autobots [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]], [[Red Alert (Armada)|Red Alert]] and [[Scattorshot]], who intended to hold him off until the other Autobots could stop Starscream. Starscream's attempts to harness the Earth Key, however, caused a release of its energies which endowed Megatron with a new Cyber Key power - the "Death Machine Gun," which he used to mow down the Autobots in his path.

The Autobots managed to retake the keys from Starscream, but a further attack from Megatron saw the Decepticon leader steal them out from under Optimus Prime's nose and retreat into his pocket dimension. Prime pursued him through the portal and defeated him in a pitched battle, reacquiring the lock and returning to Cybertron. As Megatron attempted to follow him, Vector Prime combined his portal-opening powers with the Cyber Planet Keys and collapsed Megatron's dimension in upon itself, destroying the villain.

This was not to be the end for Megatron, however, as the power of his Unicron armor sustained him as a ghost-like entity composed of pure darkness. In this state, he rematerialised on Cybertron and used Unicron's reformatting powers to upgrade the injured Crumplezone into Dark Crumplezone. As he came under attack from the Autobot [[Leobreaker]], his regeneration completed and his physical body was restored, even as he used the remainder of the lingering darkness to create an evil doppleganger of Leobreaker, [[Nemesis Breaker]], out of the Autobots own dark thoughts. Merging with Nemesis Breaker to form Dark Claw Mode, Megatron battled Optimus Prime and Leobreaker's Savage Claw Mode and made a further play for the Omega Lock, until news of the location of the fourth and final Cyber Planet Key led him to withdraw.

Guided through a spatial warp by the mysterious [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]] to [[Gigantion]], the Giant Planet, home of the final key, Megatron engaged the world's leader, [[Metroplex (Cybertron)|Metroplex]], in battle. Yet again, the Autobots were able to acquire the key, but Galvatron then stole the completed Omega Lock, only to be attacked by Starscream, who battled with Galvatron for possession of the artifact. Galvatron ultimately claimed victory in the battle, with the sheer amount of energy released in the clash actually blasting Starscream into another universe. With the lock and keys now in his hands, Galvatron returned to the Black Hole, where he was confronted and finally defeated by the five planet leaders.

Having had ultimate power torn form his grasp, Galvatron contemplated giving up, but when Starscream's spirit reached out to him and goaded him into continuing his vendetta, he challenged Optimus Prime to one final duel. Battling on Cybertron's moon, Galvatron generated a massive blade of dark energy, which Prime countered with Vector Prime's sword. As the two old enemies charged towards each other in a final strike, Prime impaled Galvatron, whose body crumbled and dissolved as he met his end once and for all.

In a montage sequence at the conclusion of the series, however, Galvatron's evil proved eternal, as, beyond the veil of time and space, his spark battled with that of Vector Prime.

Light Units are the weakest humanoid-shaped type with minimal armour and firepower, they also possess only rudimentary intelligence and combat skill. Although small in both size and threat, Light Units are effective in groups, but only when a [[Medium Unit]] or [[Command Unit]] is present to give orders. Should their squad leader be destroyed, Light Units have a tendency to quickly become disorganised. Their reaction time is very poor, not noticing approaching [[Autobot]] vehicles until they are right on top of them.

Light Units' only weapon is a small laser-blaster in place of their right hand. This weapon is somewhat ineffective. However, Light Units will not waver from attacking once they have located a target; the only thing that will make them cease is their own destruction. This means that, if ignored, a Light Unit can chip away at an Autobot's armor considerably. Light Units can still be used as "runners" to acquire reinforcements, but they are not as fast as Medium Units. Light Units keep on fighting regardless of what goes on around them (such as getting a Limpet mine stuck to them) or how many of their comrades are destroyed. If a Light Unit tries to engage in melee combat with an Autobot, they are easily batted away.

In the present day, both the Autobots and Decepticons received a signal of the Mini-Cons' activation on the planet [[Earth]]. Hot Shot and his colleagues [[Scavenger (Armada)|Scavenger]], [[Red Alert (Armada)|Red Alert]], and [[Smokescreen (Armada)|Smokescreen]] were led by Optimus Prime to the planet, where they met the Decepticons in battle. But this time, with the help of the estranged Mini-Cons, the Autobots regained the edge they lost against the Decepticons one million years prior. Instead, Wheeljack was rescued by [[Megatron_(Armada)|Megatron]] and swore vengeance against Hot Shot and the Autobots.

When [[Optimus_Prime_(Armada)|Optimus Prime]] received the [[Mini-Con]] distress signal, Hot Shot was one of two soldiers he brought with him to Earth to investigate. He soon scanned the form of an Earth sports car and partnered with the Mini-Con [[Jolt (Armada) (Armada)|Jolt]]. {{storylink|Base}}

Hot Shot would found himself stationed on Earth as the commander of [[Ocean City]] while Optimus Prime was away training new soldiers on Cybertron. Although somewhat less headstrong, Hot Shot was still a young soldier with a large mass of responsibility placed on his shoulders.

Hot Shot often clashed with Kicker and Ironhide, the latter seeing Hot Shot as his idol, and was often paired with [[Inferno (Energon)|Inferno]] as his Powerlink partner. It wasn't until the arrival of Hot Shot's former commander and idol, [[Rodimus (Energon)|Rodimus]], that he would question his own allegiences. Not moved by Rodimus' plea to help him to resurrect [[Unicron]], Hot Shot threatened to open fire, only to be struck down by Rodimus. After Rodimus saved Hot Shot's life, he regretted his quick judgement. The relationship between Hot Shot and Rodimus was eventually restored and they become Powerlink partners.

Hot Shot continued to serve under Optimus Prime, surviving many battles on Cybertron and other worlds. Along with several other Autobots, Hot Shot was injured when the reborn Unicron destroyed a fledgling planet in the reformed Q-system. Hot Shot was reformatted into a slick silver body along with his Autobot comrades. When [[Unicron]]'s destruction resulted in a black hole that threatened the Transformers' home planet of Cybertron, Optimus Prime ordered the planet to retreat into hiding on Earth. Hot Shot took the form of a blue Earth sports car.

This form came in handy when Optimus reassigned Hot Shot and [[Red_Alert (Armada)|Red Alert]] to search for [[Velocitron]]'s [[Cyber Planet Key]]. He quickly developed a competitive bond with [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]], the leader of Velocitron. Against Red Alert's warnings, Hot Shot joined the Great Race. Hot Shot pushed himself beyond his means, almost to the point of destruction, but no matter how he tried, he could never defeat Override. The constant racing took a noticeable toll on his body. Was he really doing this to win the Key or just to prove to himself he was still the fastest in the galaxy?

Hot Shot was in big trouble when Optimus arrived on Velocitron and found out what he was up to. But Optimus Prime changed his mind when he realized that winning the race was the only way to win the Key. With the Autobots' full support and [[Coby]]'s help, Hot Shot won the Great Race and the Cyber Planet Key.

Later, he would be severely wounded when [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] used his Death Machine Gun on him, [[Scattorshot]], and Red Alert. Fortunately, the powers of Primus acting through the [[Omega Lock]] repaired him into '''Cybertron Defense Hot Shot.''' When the [[Cybertron Defense Team]] was sent on an advance mission to Cybertron, Hot Shot and the others had to fight their way through a legion of [[Scrapmetal drone]]s. Once Megatron arrived on Cybertron he was quickly defeated in a battle by the Cybertron Defense Team.

Much later on [[Gigantion]] the Cybertron Defense Team was caught in [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]]'s smokescreen, but they managed to figure out the mysterious agent's mind games and defeat him.

After Override resigned from leadership of Velocitron in order to travel to a new world, Hot Shot won the race to determine who would be her successor, despite his bulky new body.

Ransack and Crumplezone were the first Velocitronians approached by Megatron, and were quickly cowed into servitude. Under Megatron's command, they sought out clues to the planet's [[Cyber Planet Key]], first terrorizing [[Brakedown (Cybertron)|Brakedown]] and [[Clocker (Cybertron)|Clocker]], then convincing [[Dirt Boss (Cybertron)|Dirt Boss]] to help them win the [[Planet Cup]] race. All throughout, they snuck around, trying to manipulate and cheat their way though, eventually abandoning Dirt Boss during the desert portion of the race. They made it to the final leg of the race: a vast, twisting track deep inside the planet, but blew all their power ''very'' early in the race and were left eating dust by [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]] and Override. They decided to attempt to just flat-out steal the Planet Cup, and naturally failed.

After their failure to capture the Speed Planet's Cyber Planet Key, Ransack and Crumplezone joined Megatron's forces off-planet attempting to collect the other Cyber Planet Keys. When [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] gave Megatron a false map that was in fact a trap, Crumplezone was the only one not trapped in it, and he quickly panicked. However, we went to find their newest ally [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]], and soon(ish) Megatron was free... and ''pissed''.

Crumplezone joined his boss on the return to [[Earth]], fighting against both the Autobots and the Decepticons under Starscream's command. The battlefield quickly shifted to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], where Crumpleone ran afoul of a swarm of [[Scrapmetal drone|Scrapmetals]], succumbing to their numbers and exploding. His death was short-lived, though, as he was revived by Megatron shortly after (in a more powerful body to boot!), and the grateful duo continued to follow Megatron, all the way to [[Gigantion]] the Giant Planet. There... they suffered humiliating defeat after humiliating defeat, pretty much. For a brief moment they had a shot at actually achieving something for Megatron by kidnapping the [[Mini-Con]] [[Jolt (Cybertron)|Jolt]], but were outsmarted by [[Bud]] and his new [[Cobybot]], then subsequently blasted through a few layers of Gigantion by [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] using [[Metroplex (Cybertron)|Metroplex's]] colossal axe "Sparkdrinker", which was really overkill.

When Megatron-then-Galavtron finally obtained the [[Omega Lock]] and all four Cyber Planet Keys, they followed him back to Cybertron and the edge of the [[Unicron Singularity]]. There, when threatened by hundreds of Transformers from across the colony worlds, Galvatron used the powers of the Omega Lock to make his lackeys gigantic and incredibly powerful. Crumplezone ended up facing off mostly against his fellow [[Velocitron]]ians, including Dirt Boss. Despite his super-size, he ended up running away as he was attacked on all sides.

After Galvatron's plans to accelerate the growth of the Unicron Singularity failed, Crumplezone and the other Decepticons left Galvatron, realizing that he had had no intention of sparing their lives from the cataclysm should he have succeeded. They re-appeared on the displaced [[Jungle Planet]], as the citizens and [[Autobot]]s were trying to prevent one of the massive planetary engines that was returning the world to its rightful place from falling over. Surprising everyone, they ''helped'' right the engine, having decided to try being good guys and being on the winning side for a change.

Ransack, Crumplezone and [[Thunderblast (Decepticon)|Thunderblast]] journeyed together across each of the worlds, trying to find a place to fit in. Ultimately failing, on Earth they cobbled together a makeshift rocket and headed for the stars, shanghaiing Thundercracker before they left, eager to become the [[New Decepticon Army]].

The truth is, Tracks' armament is considerable. He is able to launch two flaming incendiary missiles from long and durable launcher shafts. These projectiles are heat-seeking, tracing the warmth of unsuspecting Decepticon bodies and striking hard. He is further armed with a black-beam gun, which shoots forth a beam of light-negating radiation, embracing his enemies in darkness, unaware of the Autobot until he strikes from behind, and leaves them moaning on the cold ground!

Tracks can also fly like a butterfly by deploying his secret, hidden wings from their protective closet.

He should be a dangerous opponent, but his concern with preserving his stylish appearance and poor ability to work with fellow Autobots hampers him. Often he simply cruises the metro area alone all night, looking for Decepticons worthy of his attentions.
