'''Omega Supreme''' is one of the [[Scale|largest Autobots there is]]. He isn't much for words, preferring his massive frame and equally massive weapons to do the talking for him. Omega is the last line of defense for the Autobots, a titanic guardian robot capable of instilling fear and panic into the [[sparks]] of [[Decepticons]] that dare face him on the field of battle.

Except [[Buzzsaw (G1)|Buzzsaw]]. Kill that little guy, it just makes him angry.
:''Voice actor:'' [[Jack Angel]] (US), [[Tesshō Genda]] (Japan)
Omega was one of the many Autobots who just showed up during the second season. Unlike most, however, he was actually given an origin.

[[Image:Robo-Smasher and Omega Supreme.jpg|thumb|left|Et tu, Robo-Smasher?]]

Omega Supreme is the last surviving member of the legendary [[Guardian Robots]], the massive neutral defenders of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. While he was defending the [[Crystal City]], he befriended the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicon]]s, the city's creators. However, as it would happen, the Constructicons were attacked by [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]]'s [[Robo-Smasher]] and converted into Decepticons. The now-evil Constructicons convinced Omega to leave his post to help defend another city, and promised to look after the city in his stead. When he left, they demolished the Crystal City to Omega Supreme's horror. He captured them and tried to change the builders back into Autobots, but the process was irreversible and the treacherous Constructicons lured Omega into an ambush by the Smasher. The Robo-Smasher attacked Omega, but it was destroyed before it could convert him. Omega later recounts, "I lived, but, changed. Since then, I feel only hate for the Constructicons." It is thus possible that Omega's cold, emotionless demeanor -- quite different than he behaved before the destruction of the Crystal City -- is a direct result of the Robo-Smasher's work. However, it may also be that he has merely retreated into himself and become withdrawn because of the pain of betrayal and guilt.

[[Image:Omegasupremestorytime01.JPG|right|thumb|150px|Storytime: informative.]]

Some time after these events transpired, the Constructicons left Cybertron in a starship for unknown reasons. Omega Supreme pursued them, "for millions of years, across the galaxies", until they finally arrived on Earth and were reunited with Megatron. He got his chance at revenge when the Constructicons started mining an asteroid that turned out to be the egg of an [[Asteroid bird alien|organic creature]]. Omega left the creature to its own devices, which would have resulted in it devouring [[San Francisco]]. However, [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] convinced Omega to lead the creature back to its asteroid, which would sustain it. Omega lost his chance at revenge, but he did his duty. {{Storylink|The Secret of Omega Supreme}}

In 1985, the Autobots used Omega Supreme to follow the Decepticons back to Cybertron when they intended to use [[Vector Sigma]] to create a new group of Decepticon warriors. After failing to stop the Decepticons from creating the [[Stunticon]]s, the Autobots created a new team of their own to counter the new threat, the [[Aerialbot]]s. As Omega Supreme escaped Cybertron, he was hit by weapons fire from the [[Centurion droid]]s, and once he safely disembarked his passengers on Earth, he catastrophically exploded. {{Storylink|The Key to Vector Sigma, Part 1}}

[[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]], [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] and [[Sparkplug Witwicky]] connected Omega Supreme's mind to the ''[[Ark]]'s'' life support unit while they set about putting the giant back together. The arrogant Aerialbots, unimpressed with both the Autobots and the humans they protected, refused to help their comrades in defeating the Decepticons until their group leader [[Silverbolt (G1)|Silverbolt]] showed them how Sparkplug was able to disregard his fatigue and continue repairing Omega Supreme simply because of his concern for a friend's well being. Soon afterwards, the Aerialbots were facing defeat as [[Superion (G1)|Superion]] at the hands of the Stunticon combined form, [[Menasor (G1)|Menasor]], when the newly-repaired Omega Supreme suddenly appeared and helped them defeat the combiner and send the Decepticons packing. {{Storylink|The Key to Vector Sigma, Part 2}}

Omega rarely spoke, and then it was usually just two or three words. This is by choice, however, as he can speak normally if prompted.

===Marvel Comics continuity===
[[Image:Omega_comics.jpg|thumb|left|200px|I... AM DARKWING DUCK!]]

Omega Supreme was built by the Autobots on [[Earth]] in order to guard the ''[[Ark (G1)|Ark]]'' while they were away. With Omega completed, the Autobots could leave the base en masse to attack the Decepticons. [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] immediately took advantage of the situaiton by ordering [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]], [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]], [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]], [[Frenzy (G1)|Frenzy]], [[Rumble]], [[Buzzsaw (G1)|Buzzsaw]], and [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]] to attack the ''Ark''. Unfortunately, they didn't get the memo about the Autobots' new defense system, and Omega Supreme easily destroyed all of them except Laserbeak, who managed to escape with a wounded Megatron back to the Decepticons. {{storylink|Command Performances!}}

Though Omega Supreme continued to guard the Ark, he didn't seem to stay [[Scale|quite as huge]] as he used to be. When Trypticon attacked the ''Ark'', he carpeted the entrance to the ''Ark'' with sonic scrambler mines, disabling Omega and the other Autobots within; Omega was thus unable to square off against the giant. {{storylink|King of the Hill!}}

[[Image:Omegasupreme-blasterandgrimlock.jpg|thumb|right|200px|Size: indeterminate.]]

Later, Omega Supreme acted as a sort of Master of Ceremonies when Blaster and Grimlock were due to fight it out for Autobot leadership on the moon. He was pretty small. The narrator seemed to think it was bad news when [[Buzzsaw (G1)|Buzzsaw]] cannon-blasted him. {{storylink|Totaled!}}

Starscream's death ultimately proved to be only temporary, and after he gained the power of the [[Underbase]], Omega Supreme was amongst the casualties. {{storylink|Dark Star}} Pieces of him were seen in Ratchet's repair bay, but he was never shown to be functional again. {{storylink|Back from the Dead!}}

Some time after the departure of the ''Ark'', Omega Supreme and [[Jetfire (G1)|Jetfire]] were sent out to go find them. They ultimately ended up buried under Antarctica on Earth. Millions of years later, Jetfire remotely reactivated Omega Supreme in an attempt to defeat [[Sunstorm (G1)|Sunstorm]]. Though Omega Supreme was initially successful, Sunstorm managed to obscure his vision. When Omega Supreme retracted his visor in order to see, Sunstorm blasted him right in the face with a burst of solar radiation, instantly knocking him off line. He soon recovered, but Sunstorm had escaped. Omega later helped the Autobots in building [[Autobot City]].

[[Image:OmegaSupreme_SpotlightPrime.jpg|thumb|right|150px|Privacy: Requested. Discharge: Imminent.]]

Omega Supreme is largely a non-participant in the galactic cold-war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Predating the notion of factions and having survived two [[Prime (rank)|Primes]], he remains in seclusion in a specially-shielded artificial asteroid within the [[Muta-Gaath Nebula]]. Though nominally allied with the Autobots, he remains outside of the conflict for fear of escalating it due to the firepower he commands. Instead, he exists as a resource to Primes in times of doubt. However, he did participate in the Autobot/Decepticon battle to stop [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]], alongside [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]], and [[Trypticon]]. {{storylink|Stormbringer issue 1}}

Omega Supreme is one of the few living Transformers to remember the first ''[[Ark (G1)|Ark]]''. Believing that the Transformer race should exercise a slow inner growth through intellectual contemplation, he frequently clashed with the expansionist [[Nova Prime]], who felt Cybertron's destiny lay in the conquest of other worlds. After the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s departure and Nova Prime's disappearance, Omega Supreme discovered a horrific creation of theirs: [[Monstructor]]. He sealed the gestalt in a dimensionally-displaced prison to prevent it from devastating Cybertron and escalating the burgeoning conflict. Centuries later, Optimus Prime came to him for advice. While the two were talking, Monstructor — somehow freed from captivity — attacked. Omega Supreme told Optimus Prime the truth about himself, Nova Prime, and Monstructor. Though Optimus Prime succeeded in defeating the gestalt, he condemned Omega Supreme for attempting to play god by simply locking them away.

As he was defeated very easily by a single gestalt, this version of Omega is either considerably weaker than others, or the gestalts are considerably ''stronger'' in this [[continuity]] (Omega seems to believe the latter). {{Storylink|Spotlight: Optimus Prime}}
===Generation 1===
*'''Omega Supreme''' (1985)

[[Image:G1OmegaSupreme_toy.jpg|left|thumb|Fragility: unappreciated.]]

:Omega Supreme transforms into a three individual components simultaneously: a large rocket base, a rocket and a tank. Not unlike the [[Seeker]]s, whose toys involve minimal actual transformation, and more "pull all the bits off and put them back on in different ways," Omega Supreme involves next to no actual manipulation of his parts, "transforming" instead by being disassembled into his component pieces, which are then put back together in a different configuration.

:Omega's distinctive forearms (his left a large cannon, his right a large three-fingered claw) disconnect from his arms at the elbow and plug together end-on-end to form the rocket. His legs are comprised of quite a few independent parts — the outer casing of each one is a "shell" made up of two pieces held together by three sliding yellow clips, concealing two further "shell" pieces which clip around his leg proper, and are held together by his foot. All of these parts are removed and reassembled to form the "core" of the rocket base, which is completed with the addition of Omega's backpack and feet as a gantry for the rocket to stand astride, and his wings (made up of six individual pieces themselves, which can be assembled in various configurations) as an ovular track that encircles the whole affair. This leaves Omega's torso, which then undergoes some actual transformation to become a tank that rests on the track. The torso features a battery-operated motor which propels the tank around the track as its turret spins and flashes with orange light, or allows Omega to walk (very slowly) forward in robot mode. This motor is extremely susceptible to failure.

:Omega Supreme was one of several toys licensed by [[Hasbro]] from manufacturers other than [[Takara]] — specifically, from Toy Box, an origin he shares with [[Sky Lynx]]. As a consequence, Omega Supreme was never released in Japan under the ''Transformers'' brand during the original 1980s run.

:However, in January 2008 Takaratomy announced that Omega Supreme will be a part of their [[Transformers Encore]] ''Generation 1'' [[reissue]] line in June, which will mark his first-ever release in Japan.
[[Image:G1OmegaSpreem_toy.jpg|right|thumb|150px|Identity: specious. Colors: [[Neon|abrasive]].]]

:As an [[Action Master Elite]], Omega Spreem is one of the few figures in the [[Action Master]] line that can actually transform to some extent, in this case transforming into a Cybertronian tank, though the 'transformation' itself merely consists of him bending over. A button on back of the tank turret, when pressed, spins the front half of the turret. In robot mode, he carries the front of his tank as a treaded gun.

:Omega Spreem, as with the other Action Master Elites, was only released in Europe and Australasia.

==Trivia==
*Originally, Omega Supreme was going to be named [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]], due to Hasbro wanting to use the name on something.

*Omega Supreme's name could be translated as "Last of the Best"; given his role as the "last line of defense", this is appropriate.

*Omega Supreme can seemingly launch his rocket into space, leaving the remaining parts behind at his launch base, and then transform fully back to robot mode even though a good number of his body parts are separated from the rocket by a good planetary diameter or two (if not several light years).

:''The Dinobots are an [[Autobot]] [[subgroup]] in [[Generation 1]] [[continuity family]]. In some continuities, before they arrive on Earth, they are known as the '''Dynobots'''.''

[[Image:DinobotDreamwave1.jpg|right|400px|thumb|Call them the boy-band of the Autobots and prepare for a world of pain - from left to right: Sludge, Grimlock, Swoop, Slag and Snarl]]

The '''Dinobots''' are a rowdy, arrogant, low-brow, disobedient band of warriors that some Autobots would rather scrap than deal with. They're also one of the most devastatingly powerful and close-knit combat units in the Autobot army. Whether or not they follow [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]]'s orders depends on what those orders are. If its destroy stuff, they're down with that. If it's help people, it kinda depends on what the weather is like.

The group's members are:
*[[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] (the leader)
*[[Slag (G1)|Slag]] (the bad boy)
*[[Sludge (G1)|Sludge]] (the dim one)
*[[Snarl (G1)|Snarl]] (the quiet one)
*[[Swoop (G1)|Swoop]] (the sensitive one)

and in one story:
*[[Paddles]] (the "Pete Best" one)

''In at least [[The Beast Within|one]] [[micro-continuity]], the Dinobots can combine to form a monstrous super-robot called [[Beast|the Beast]]. Grimlock explicitly states that this is not the case in the Marvel UK continuity, though he has been known to stretch the truth.''

=Fiction=
=== Marvel Comics continuity===
The Dinobots in the comic were not created on Earth, but were a distinct and pre-existing unit of five Autobot soldiers that were aboard the Ark when it crashed to Earth. The comic Dinobots, while not exactly [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]]-grade, were significantly more intelligent than their cartoon counterparts. (Their commander, Grimlock, served as overall Autobot Commander on more than one occasion.)However, the not as strong as their cartoon counterparts either. Shortly after the crash the Ark's computer detected [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] landing on the planet in the [[Antarctica|Antarctic]] land-out-of-time that would one day become known as the [[Savage Land]]. The Ark used the last of its capabilities to revive these five warriors and rebuild them to transform into the Savage Land's dominant lifeform: dinosaurs. They were then dispatched to deal with the Decepticon, where they sank to the bottom of a tar pit and remained dormant until [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] revived them in the 1980s.

===Animated continuity===

[[Image:DinobotsG1.jpg|left|250px|thumb|From left to right: Terrible Dactyl, Stego, Bronto Thunder, Tricero and Ghengis Rex OR: "We need Dinozord Power, now!"]]

Built on [[Earth]] by [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] and [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]], the Dinobots are a subgroup of Autobots with great physical power, but very limited intelligence. They were modeled after the Dinosaur fossils that [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]] found in the volcanic caves near the [[Ark]]. Initially only three were built (Grimlock, Slag, and Sludge) in the episode "[[S.O.S. Dinobots]]", but two others (Snarl and Swoop) were added in the episode "[[War of the Dinobots]]".

It is unclear how to interpret this origin in concert with the idea, established later in the cartoon series, that new Transformers are granted life by the super computer [[Vector Sigma]]. Although slow-witted, the Dinobots give every indication of being fully "alive", sapient beings. Some fans suggest that [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] used the Matrix to give them life, but this is not supported by canon, particularly since in this continuity he carries the [[Matrix of Leadership]], which was never shown to have the life-granting powers of the [[Creation Matrix]] until it was [[retcon]]ned by Beast Era fiction. Retroactively, it can be guessed that the Matrix may have been involved, but when the G1 cartoon is viewed in isolation, there is something amiss.
[[Image:GrimSlagSludge.jpg|right|250px|thumb|The Three Dinobots, immediately after accidentally killing the invisible swordsman.]]
The Dinobots role was to simply pulverise anyone or anything that was too strong for the Autobots to handle on their own. In the process they frequently mouthed off, rebelled and started brawls inside of [[Trypticon|dinosaur shaped cities]].

At one point, the Dinobots, sick of only being used as the hammer of the Autobot army, deserted, saying that they would fight when ''they'' wanted to. However, the Dinobots were called in the Autobots and the Decepticons began suffering from [[Cybertonium]] depletion. During the battle with the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicon]]s, they were accidentally sent to Cybertron, where they briefly reduced [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] to the role of chew toy. {{storylink|Desertion of the Dinobots, Part 1}} However, Shockwave altered the Dinobots memory circuits, and forced them to work in the [[Cybertonium Pit]]. [[Spike Witwicky]] and [[Carly]] managed to rescue them, and the Dinobots decided to follow Optimus Prime's orders...until such time that they decided not to. {{storylink|Desertion of the Dinobots, Part 2}}

During the [[Battle of Autobot City|Battle]] of [[Autobot City]], the Dinobots were dispatched to defeat [[Devastator]]. Despite their incredible strength, Devastator manhandled them. During [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]]'s subsequent attack, [[Kup]] and [[Hot Rod]] literally had to drag them aboard the shuttle, which was shot down over [[Quintessa]]. The Dinobots managed to avoid being captured and met [[Wheelie]], who helped them find Kup and Hot Rod. Later, the Dinobots literally whupped the butt of [[Unicron|a god]]. {{storylink|The Transformers: The Movie|TFTM}}

The Dinobots [[Combiner|combine]] into the [[Beast]] to fight the Decepticons, but the Beast is so savage and kill-crazy that the Autobots have to kill it. {{storylink|The Beast Within}}

''This story is regarded in [[fandom]] as being one of the nadirs of Transformers fiction, and as completely messing up the chance to show a Dinobot combiner.''

=== Dreamwave Comics continuity===
[[Image:ScrollDinobots.jpg|right|200px|thumb|A Dinobot by any other name would still kick your ass ]]
It was established that Grimlock once commanded a splinter-faction of Autobots known as the [[Lightning Strike Coalition]], that included the pre-Dinobots. It was also established that following this, these five robots used the Cybertronic designation "Dynobots."

The Dynobots travelled to earth separate from the rest of the Autobots. Grimlock emerged on his own, and the Ark Autobots found him battling the [[Insecticons]]. The fate of the other Dinobots was unknown, but somehow Megatron had captured them and kept them in stasis in a secret base. Before the Great War, Grimlock and the Dynobots were amongst the gladiatorial teams that competed in the [[Forge]]. When Megatron put out a call for combatants, the Dynobots were amongst those who were shown grudging respect by the [[Predacon (G1)|Predacon]]s as opposed to the remainder of the "amateurs" in the crowd.

In a similar fashion to the Marvel and Dreamwave continuity, the Dynobots followed [[Shockwave]] to Earth on a revenge-fueled crusade. After engaging the Decepticon on Prehistoric Earth in their new dinosaurian beast-modes, The battle ended with the six robots buried in molten lava. They were later unearthed by a human archaelogical dig {{storylink|Spotlight: Shockwave}} which was taken over by government agents {{storylink| Escalation, Issue 5}}

General '''Robert Hallo''' was the head of Military Development for the United States Army, who first plotted to control the [[Transformers]], and then to destroy them.

=Fiction=
===Dreamwave Comics===

Robert Hallo joined the Marines as a boy, where he was taught to never surrender. Eventually, he rose to the rank of General, and was put in charge of Military Development at the US Defense Ministry. In 1997, he hired engineer [[Lazarus|Adam Rook]] to spearhead Project Lazarus, a program designed to create intelligent robot soldiers. After every prototype failed, Hallo changed tactics, and took advantage of the recent [[Autobot]]/[[Human]] defeat of the [[Decepticons]] to experiment upon the deactivated Decepticons. Eventually, Rook succeeded in creating a program to control Transformers - the program allowed specific objectives to be input into the Transformer's central intelligence, suppressing their free will but retaining a level of intelligence sufficient to make independent decisions while carrying out the mission.

In order to acquire the Autobots, Hallo plotted to destroy the ''[[Ark II]]'', a ship carrying the victorious Autobots, their Decepticon prisoners, and several humans back to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. An engineer attached to Project Lazarus tried to reveal Hallo's plan to the authorities, but Hallo had him killed before he could blow the whistle. The plan initially went off without a hitch - the ''Ark II'' exploded on June 24th of 1998, killing its human passengers and depositing the Transformers into the [[Arctic Ocean]], but Rook disappeared and took the control program with him.

[[Image:Hallodead.jpg|thumb|left|[[Dull surprise|Dead surprise!]]]]

Three years later, Hallo became aware that Rook, now calling himself 'Lazarus', had recovered and reactivated several Transformers, including [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]], using his control program. To combat Lazarus' robots, Hallo covertly recovered [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], but was unable to reactivate him. To do so, Hallo and his bodyguard [[Lou]] plucked [[Spike Witwicky]] from his Cleveland home and brought him to the Pentagon. Spike, who had been given a fragment of the [[Matrix of Leadership]] for safekeeping prior to the launch of the ''Ark II'', reluctantly used it to awaken Prime.

Hallo accompanied Prime and Spike to the Arctic with a company of soldiers, and watched as Prime used the Matrix to revive a number of his soldiers. Along with the Autobots, Hallo surveyed the ruins of a [[SmitCo]] oil refinery, the latest victim of Lazarus' Transformers. As Spike angrily confronted Prime about the attack, Hallo consoled the Autobot leader, suggesting that Spike simply didn't understand the nature of power. Disturbed by this, Prime violently extracted the location of Lazarus' base from Hallo and left him behind as he took his Autobots to attack it. Undaunted, Hallo revealed his true colors by ordering a missile strike on the battling Autobots and Decepticons.

Flying back to the Pentagon, Hallo imprisoned a furious Spike and erased all records of the missile strike. The Transformers managed to survive the attack, however, and were soon rampaging through [[San Francisco]]. Deciding that an air strike would be insufficient, Hallo initiated a nuclear missile launch. As the missile streaked towards the city, Spike burst into the command room, brandishing information on Project Lazarus acquired from [[Larry]] (the brother of the Project Lazarus engineer Hallo murdered). Unimpressed, Hallo pulled a gun on him and forced him to watch the imminent destruction of San Francisco and the Transformers.

As the seconds passed, Spike accused Hallo of being a lunatic - of being more concerned about power and control than saving lives. Hallo agreed with him, screaming that freedom stems from power, and that power is the only thing keeping Spike and his family safe. He was interrupted in mid-rant by the arrival of the [[President of the United States]] and the Secret Service, who ordered Hallo to surrender. Confronted with the unravelling of his plans and unprepared to go to jail, Hallo pulled his weapon and was gunned down.

'''Note:''' ''As two operators are required to authorize a nuclear launch, it is unknown how Hallo managed to launch a nuclear missile at San Francisco. Also, there is no US "Defense Ministry".
:''Bonecrusher is a [[Decepticon]] from the [[Movie (franchise)|Movie]] [[continuity family]].''

[[Image:MovieBonecrusher.jpg|right|thumb|300px|He was a sk8ter boi, she said see ya later boy.]]

'''Bonecrusher''' is a Transformer that can be described with one word: Hate. Bonecrusher hates this wiki. Bonecrusher hates the fact that his toy is so small. Bonecrusher even hates amusingly appropriate Avril Lavigne quotes. Basically Bonecrusher hates everything and everyone, particularly buses, and lives for the day when all of creation is crushed and destroyed beneath his feet. If anyone tries to befriend him (with the possible exception of folks from Force Protection, as noted below), he will have nothing to do with them. His overwhelming anger and hatred extends even to his fellow Decepticons, including [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] himself. Only fear of Megatron keeps him on their side. Plus, he ''really'' hates the [[Autobot]]s.

Were you to ask if there was anything he didn't hate, he might tell you that he hates it when people ask that. More likely, though, he'd just grind your torso into a fine powder. The hatred of Bonecrusher isn't a quiet, brooding, sulking, thing nor a whiny [[Dropkick |Emo]] sort of hate. His hatred is of the [[Galvatron (G1)|explosive, violently psychotic]] sort, and the only thing that soothes his twisted [[spark]] is to sneer at the mangled remains of those he destroyed.

He transforms into a Buffalo mine clearing vehicle used by the military. It is made exclusively in South Carolina and the drivers routinely use it to drive to the local Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. He hates drivers, the mine clearing vehicle, the drive-thrus, and South Carolina. He loves tacos, however.
===''Ghosts of Yesterday''===

Bonecrusher was aboard the crew of the ''[[Nemesis (Movie)|Nemesis]]'', led by [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], who were searching for Megatron, who was lost thousands of years ago, along with the [[All Spark]]. He hated the ''Nemesis'', but would hate trying to walk home more. He also hated the All Spark, but Megatron wanted it, so he decided not to complain. Finally, he hated Starscream, but all the other Decepticons do as well, making it something he has in common with his fellow Decepticons. He hated that.

Bonecrusher was picked to lead an assault on the ''[[Ark (Movie)|Ark]]''. His only response to the command was a growl, but he dislikes being in charge, as his only strategy in combat is to violently charge the enemy and rip them apart with his bare hands. Everyone else uses their stupid [[weapon|gun]]s, and Bonecrusher is a terrible shot. After [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]] had his [[exhaust port]] handed to him for challenging Starscream, Bonecrusher had to drag him back to the ''Nemesis''. Bonecrusher would have preferred to leave him to rot. During the subsequent fight, Bonecrusher has to fight [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]], and managed to dent his armor. However, Bonecrusher does demand answers from Starscream when Blackout demands information on why the Decepticon leader wanted to destroy [[Ghost 1|an alien vessel]], cause damn it, even Bonecrusher needs reasons to kill (well, not really, he was just getting fed up with Starscream). Bonecrusher was forced to drag Starscream back to the ''Nemesis'' when he was injured by the alien ship. He hates being a courier. {{Storylink|Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday}}
===Titan Magazines===

Bonecrusher is known and feared by Autobots for never giving up. He almost killed [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]] once and pursued him & his comrade [[Clocker (Movie)|Clocker]] for ages - because Bonecrusher hates nice-looking shiny robots (or nice-looking ''anythings'') and deliberately destroys them. As he says, "I figure, why should they look so nice... when I look like ''this!''", showing he hates even himself. Clocker covered Jazz's retreat and tried to fight Bonecrusher, who hated that and killed him. {{storylink|Transformers comic issue 6}}
===''Transformers'' Movie Prequel (Target)===

[[Image:Movie_BarricadeBonecrusher_protoforms.jpg|thumb|left|The destruction of the Autobots fills Bonecrusher with rare moments of happiness...until he remembers that there are more to be killed.]]

Bonecrusher was a member of Starscream's unit that was keeping [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]]'s reinforcements out of [[Tyger Pax]]. When [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]] arrived with news of Megatron and the All Spark, Bonecrusher insisted that they move on as they had already killed all the Autobots in the area. He then demanded that Brawl take them to Megatron or he would kill them all. Witnessing the launch of the All Spark, [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] commented that [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] would die, but Bonecrusher replied that they should let it die, and that Barricade should join it in death. After Starscream and Blackout settled their differences, the group headed after Megatron.

The Decepticons made planetfall on [[Earth]] in Afghanistan, quickly attracting the attention of a nearby [[United States Military|US military]] base, which sent out an armoured personnel carrier to investigate. Bonecrusher declared his satisfaction in finally having something to kill, but this chance was snatched away when [[Wreckage (Movie)|Wreckage]] scanned the vehicle and destroyed it. He hated when that happened. Hitting the US airbase, Bonecrusher easily killed the humans before scanning a Buffalo mine-clearance vehicle and complaining that there weren't enough lifeforms to kill. {{Storylink|Transformers Movie Prequel (Target) Volume 2}}

'''Note:''' ''In the panel were the Decepticons react to the arrival of the armoured personnel carrier, it is likely that Bonecrusher's speech bubble regarding the military base was actually meant for Wreckage (as the latter was the one who tracked the base location), and that Brawl was incorrectly given Bonecrusher's own speech bubble about killing things. On the last page, Bonecrusher's speech bubble asking Starscream if it was going to be easy is clearly meant for Barricade, as that is who Starscream responds to. Bonecrusher ''hates'' ventriloquism.''

While hiding in a military base, Bonecrusher came under attack by the humans twice, and required assistance from Starscream to escape. He hates needing help from people, especially from people he hates.

He is playable on PSP multi (a game that he hates).

[[Image:Movie_Bonecrusher_carflip.jpg|left|thumb|He hates the sundown slowdown.]]

Bonecrusher was hiding out in the motor pool of a military base when he received a communique from Starscream ordering the Decepticons to to mobilize and converge on the location of the All Spark. He rendezvoused with [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and [[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]], and the three Decepticons headed off together to intercept the Autobots and their human allies who had the All Spark in their possession.

[[Image:Movie_Bonecrusher_face.jpg|thumb|right|Bonecrusher, like most celebs, hates the paparazzi. He also hates Close-ups.]]

Devastator wandered off somewhere, so Bonecrusher and Barricade continued their pursuit on the freeway. Barricade activated his sirens to clear the traffic and allow them more maneuvering room. Unsatisfied with Barricade's less conspicuous method, and since he hated rush-hour traffic, Bonecrusher used his mine-scoop to flip cars out of his way (He kinda liked that). Surprisingly, the Autobots didn't find this out of the ordinary, and only reacted when [[Sam Witwicky|ladiesman217]] recognized Barricade and warned the Autobots. [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]], and [[ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]] aligned to block the Decepticons from [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]], who had the All Sparks and the fleshlings.

[[Image:Big_fight.jpg|left|thumb|Bonecrusher loves to watch things burn. Just not himself.]]
After Barricade pulled over to the side of the road, Bonecrusher transformed while still moving and skated towards the Autobots. Optimus Prime transformed and slid into position to block his path. Seeing the Autobot he really hated (and that's saying a lot), Bonecrusher smashed through a bus (it irked him), and tackled Optimus Prime, pushing him off an overpass tumbling and falling off the edge, dragging the Autobot leader down with him.

[[Image:Movie_Bonecrusher_dies.jpg|thumb|right|Thus began Bonecrusher's hatred of Prime's sword.]]

When they landed, he sucker-punched Optimus Prime, who then hit Bonecrusher so hard one of the Decepticon's [[optics]] popped free from its socket (he liked that eye... well, no, he didn't, he just hated not having it more), and the two played a little cat-and-mouse along the overpasses. After Prime jumped down to ground level, Bonecrusher swung his tail wildly at the Autobot, all the while screaming incoherently (maybe). This gave Optimus the opportunity he needed to get his sword ready... which the Autobot leader used to cleave Bonecrusher's right arm and run through the Decepticon's neck, nearly severing it. Optimus then wrenched the head from it's neck and discarded it on the ground, he hated that too. He hated being barely functional.

Bonecrusher hates his movie role. {{Storylink|Transformers (2007)}}
*'''Bonecrusher''' (Deluxe, 2007)
:''Japanese ID Number:'' '''MD-09'''

[[Image:moviebonecrushertoy.jpg|left|thumb|The name's doomed to be nothing but bulldozers or [[Bonecrusher (BW)|buffaloes]]. And he hates that.]]

: Bonecrusher transforms into a [[wikipedia:Buffalo_%28mine_protected_vehicle%29|Buffalo mine-protected vehicle]], with an articulated "mine-fork" for removing mines or cars or robots or unsuspecting buildings from his path. The fork can change from its packaged "Grabber claw" configuration into a more fork/shovel like configuration, a fact not stated on the instructions. He has six rolling wheels in this mode, and two sculpted, non-functional spare wheels.

: In robot mode he has elements resembling both his 2005 design and the final design used in the movie, though a major deviation to both designs is that the entire front shell halves of the vehicle mode are mounted upon his arms. His arms have limited articulation due to this [[kibble]], but can extend out into '''really''' long arms. His legs fare better, with ball jointed hips, swivel knees and ankles, but his hips can often detach from the codpiece holding them together. The mine-fork splits to form a grabber-claw, which can snap onto victims with a geared slider [[Automorph]] mechanism. He is surprisingly okay with these little tools of death.

: He is named "Bonescrusher" on the Canadian [[cross-sell]]. Guess how Bonecrusher feels about ''that'' little mispelling.

: It is currently unknown if this set is mass-retail or an [[exclusive]] of some sort. However, this set was released in Australia at mass retail in 2007, because Australia is [[Outback|awesome]]. And [[Jetfire (Armada)|drunk]].
*'''Ironhide vs Bonecrusher''' (2007)

[[Image:Rhboneiron.jpg|left|thumb|250px|Bonecrusher is actually pretty glad that he doesn't come with sword-wielding ''RH'' Prime.]]

:Bonecrusher comes packaged with the impressively-armed [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]]. He is depicted lunging forward on his roller-skate feet, presumably to deliver an extremely enthusiastic hug. This figurine is notorious for not actually being able to stand up on its feet very well, usually requiring one of its hands to be used for balance. Also, he's got some kind of a sneering grin, making him look almost happy, even if it's an evil happy.

Bonecrusher really, '''''REALLY''''' hates his ''Robot Heroes'' toy.

{{-}}

==Trivia==
[[image:PhotoshopedBuffalo.PNG|250px|thumb|*''Giant fork and Decepticon insignia not included with the real Buffalo.'' Bonecrusher hates that.]]

* The real Buffalo mine-sweeping vehicle hasn't in fact, such a huge fork. It is only 14 inches (35 cm) wide. The image that inspired Bonecrusher's design was actually a Photoshopped image put on the official Force Protection company's site to make it look more impressive[http://www.forceprotection.net/models/buffalo/]. A 10-foot-wide (3 m) appliance had to be fixed on Bonecrusher's arm for the movie. He hated that.[http://enewsi.com/news.php?catid=190&itemid=11213]

* Force Protection really, really loves Bonecrusher and that he has picked their Buffalo as its alt mode. They are actually quite proud of it.[http://www.forceprotection.net/news/transformers.html] Bonecrusher is not sure what to think about that.

* Bonecrusher's toy was used as a prop for a CNN Headline News report demonstrating the real Buffalo vehicle's mine-sweeping arm.[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maAWP2uVd7M] He hates the Lincoln Memorial.

* It's a matter of debate whether or not Bonecrusher actually said anything intelligible in English during his brief appearance in the finished film, or whether he is talking in [[Cybertronian languages|Cybertronian]]. At various points in his fight with Optimus Prime, he does emit some garbled roars that ''might'' be English. However, there is little agreement among viewers as to whether he said anything at all, much less ''what'' he supposedly said. For what it's worth, the subtitles saying nothing on his speech, and the closed captions say that he is just "roaring". It could just be that he hates speaking coherently. Kinda makes you wonder why nobody has thought to contact [[Jimmie Wood]] and ''ask'' him just what the slag he was saying.

* Bonecrusher is Michael Bay's favorite character from the film, despite his limited screentime - so much so that Bay named his new dog after him. Although the Decepticons are generally [[Ravage|cat]] people, Bonecrusher hates cats, so he is quite flattered. He still hates Bay for the small screen time he gets, though.

* According to the DVD commentary, Bonecrusher's sequences were particularly difficult for [[ILM]] to do at first. The solution came from videotaping employees rollerblading at speed in the parking lot, and a pair of fighting experts going through the motions wanted for Bonecrusher and Prime, then using that footage as references.

* Last but not least, Bonecrusher hates you. Yeah, you. You know who you are. Don't try to pretend you don't know, either. Bonecrusher hates ignorance.

He wants so badly to be liked and needed, to feel like a useful and valuable member of his team. His self esteem is so low he'd do just about anything to get the approval of the others, but his simpering, doting eagerness to please just reinforces the other Decepticon's opinion of him as a worthless loser. He's constantly excavating everywhere he goes in the attempt to find something of worth to please everyone and prove his value, but it's invariably just some piece of garbage or scrap he excitedly finds, and that just reinforces their opinion of his worthlessness once again. If it wasn't for his shovel's unique ability to detect needed materials, [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] and the others would likely have dumped the poor scrub long ago.

Scavenger combines with his fellow Constructicons to form [[Devastator]], where he serves the useful function of right arm.
[[Image:Constructiconsbornmarvel.jpg|left|thumb|200px|So nice, you see him twice.]]Early in the Transformers' war on [[Earth]], [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] used the stolen power of the [[Creation Matrix]] to give life to the first of a new generation of Decepticon warriors, the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicon]]s. Scavenger and his Constructicons were immediately given a mission upon their coming online -- construct a communications tower to transmit a message to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. A truckstop was raided for raw materials, which attracted the ire of trucker [[Bomber Bill]], who, with the aid of the [[Autobot]]s, managed to destroy the tower Scavenger and the other Constructicons had built. {{storylink|The Next Best Thing to Being There!}}
''Scavenger and the Constructicons, after troubleshooting their union as [[Devastator]], were sent by Shockwave to abduct [[Buster Witwicky]].
After [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron's]] retaking of Decepticon command, Scavenger and the other Constructicons were charged with building perimeter defences around their headquarters located at the base of a coal strip mine in eastern [[Wyoming]]. Devastator's services were again required when the Autobots staged a surprise attack, but they retreated once they had what they needed. {{storylink|Command Performances!}}
During [[Ratbat]]'s command, an attack was ordered on the combined Autobot forces on Earth's [[moon (moon)|moon]] while [[Blaster]] and [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] dueled for leadership. Under cover of battle, Scavenger and the other Constructicons retrieved the remains of several fallen and captured Decepticons. {{storylink|Totaled!}}
:''Megatron is a [[Decepticon]] from the [[Generation 1]] [[continuity family]]. He is also known as Lord Megatron and sometimes nicknamed the Slag Maker.''

'''Megatron''' is the founder of the Decepticon uprising, and their most well-known and feared [[Emperor of Destruction|leader]]. As a young, charismatic leader forged in battle and the heritage of war, he began to believe in a grand purpose for his race—it is the [[Transformer]]s' glorious destiny to rule an [[Decepticon Empire|empire]] which will span the universe. The opposite of his mortal enemy [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], he feels great contempt for other Transformers who, he feels, betray their proud heritage by demanding peace and cooperation with weaker life forms. It is the destiny of the Decepticons to bring order to the universe through conquest, though in the millions of years since coining this purpose it remains to be seen how much of his mission statement is altruistic... and how much of it is mere words built to fuel warriors to further his desire for personal power.

Megatron will attempt almost anything to achieve his goals, but his schemes are rarely in any way subtle. This is perhaps due to his arrogance, but his pride is not so strong as to dissuade him from abandoning a battle he is losing. Some would question his sanity, though these few are mostly now dead by his hands...or his [[Fusion cannon]], depending on his mood.

Sometimes, Megatron is later reborn as [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]].

Four million years ago, ''rising from his beginnings as a gladiator for the city-state of [[Tarn]],'' Megatron and the Decepticons developed the ability of transformation, using it to begin the war against the Autobots, who fought back by mimicking the technology. Megatron declared his intent to transform [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] into a "cosmic dreadnought" to conquer the universe. {{storylink|The Transformers (comic issue)|The Transformers}} ''However, he would only get as far as building massive engines deep beneath the planet's surface. {{storylink|Legion of the Lost!|Legion of the Lost!, Part 1}}''

Megatron also vowed to possess the planet's superdatabase, the [[Underbase]], for himself, so he followed a young Optimus Prime on his quest into the [[Temple of Knowledge]], where he destroyed the temple's curator, [[Boltax]]. In order to keep the Underbase out of Megatron's hands, Optimus Prime destroyed the temple and launched the Underbase into space. {{storylink|The Flames of Boltax!}}

[[Image:Megatrong1earlymarvel.jpg|right|thumb|150px|Check out my awesome preproduction model!]]

''After the death of [[Sentinel Prime]], Megatron's troops poised themselves around the Autobot capital city of [[Iacon]], slowly disintegrating its defenses. [[Emirate Xaaron]] chose [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], a warrior, to take the [[Council of Autobot Elders]]' place as leader of the Autobot forces. Optimus Prime and Megatron's armies then met in battle, and Megatron's forces were defeated - with help from an exploding bridge. {{storylink|And There Shall Come... A Leader!}}''

In time, the war grew so fierce that Cybertron itself was shaken from its orbit, and set adrift in the cosmos. Eventually, over a thousand years after Megatron's war had begun <ref>The length of the war is given as "over a thousand years" in [[The Transformers (comic issue)|Marvel Comics #1]], but it's said to be just a hundred years in Marvel UK's [[Legion of the Lost, Part 1]].</ref>, the planet fell into the path of an asteroid cluster in the Sol system that threatened to destroy it, and so Optimus Prime led a contingent of his troops in the Ark to reduce the asteroids to rubble, saving Cybertron. The plan was a success, but immediately afterwards, Megatron and his troops attacked, forcing Optimus Prime to crash the Ark into prehistoric Earth.

Four million years later, in 1984, the Transformers were reawakened, and Megatron immediately set about trying to locate a source of fuel for the Decepticons. Unable to ingest common Earth gasoline, the Decepticons kidnapped [[Sparkplug Witwicky]] and forced him to develop a conversion process. Megatron soon found his Decepticons and his base of operations under siege by the Autobot [[Gears]] and a strange super-powered human named [[Spider-Man]]. The pair escaped with Sparkplug, but not before he had managed to convert Earth fuel into usable energy.{{storylink|Prisoner of War!}}
''After an argument with Megatron, [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] left their headquarters and set about on a plan to position himself above Megatron in the eyes of his comrades. [[Ravage]], sent by Megatron to spy on Starscream, was discovered overhearing Starscream's treachery, and so Starscream tried to eliminate the elusive jaguar. This enraged Megatron, who punished Starscream by having him duel the Autobot [[Brawn]]. {{storylink|The Enemy Within!}} Soon, Megatron and the full fury of the Decepticons under his command, sieged the Ark itself, but his attack was stopped short by a malfunctioning [[Auntie]], the Ark's computer system. Captured with Optimus Prime in a stasis field, Auntie's fatal intentions towards them prompted Megatron to activate his rarely-used ability to tap into the power of a black hole. This proved unnecessary after [[Ravage]] and [[Windcharger (G1)|Windcharger]] saved them, so Megatron moved to use his cosmic power on Prime - until Windcharger magnetically launched him out of the Ark and into the stratosphere. {{storylink|Raiders of the Last Ark}}''

While Sparkplug was kidnapped, this had only afforded him the chance to poison their fuel, and the Decepticons were forcibly deactivated at the end of a climactic fight between the two factions. The Autobots were not saved, however, as [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] suddenly arrived and defeated the Autobots with a single blast. He brought the Decepticons back online to serve him - including Megatron. Chafing under his command, Megatron battled Shockwave, but was soundly defeated.

[[Image:Megatrong1marvelhumiliation.jpg|right|300px|thumb|Get used to this, Megatron.]]

This forced Megatron him into an alliance with [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]], who located and reactivated the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]], who had defeated Shockwave in the past. However, Ratchet loosed them on Megatron, and was willing to sacrifice himself to knock Megatron off a cliff. While Ratchet survived, Megatron disappeared for some time.

Soon, however, Megatron re-emerged, trapped in pistol mode, his higher brain functions disconnected. Used as a weapon by wannabe gangster, [[Joey Slick]], Megatron eventually restored himself, and was impressed enough with Slick for standing up to him that he allowed him to live. But at this point, Megatron was desperately low on fuel, and attacked a coal mine, attempting to locate some, when he eventually completely ran out, and froze in place. He was soon located by [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]], who brought him back online, and they subsequently entered into an alliance with the human [[Donny Finkleberg]], who used the alias of "Robot-Master" to con humankind into thinking the Transformers worked for him.

Shockwave and Megatron entered into a period of shared leadership, but when a two-pronged attack by the Autobots saw Megatron defeated by [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]], and Shockwave allowing the Autobots to capture the secrets of [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]], Megatron was able to spin the situation and reclaim his leadership.

[[Image:Megatrong1marveltarget2006.jpg|left|thumb|250px|SPOILERS!]]

''A mysterious Decepticon called [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], along with his henchmen [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] and [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]], entered the Decepticon camp and claimed he was the future Decepticon leader from the year 2006. Megatron found this preposterous, but though he tried to destroy the alleged impostor, he and Soundwave were buried under rubble by the powerful newcomers. Megatron was retrieved from the rubble by [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]], and he and the Autobots forged an uneasy alliance against Galvatron. This was still not enough, as Galvatron (who was revealed to be Megatron himself from the future) easily disposed of all of them, and was only deterred when he was tricked into believing he had traveled back in time to a past that would not become his own future. {{storylink|Target 2006}}''

''Megatron summoned the [[Predacon]]s to Earth with the intention of having them hunt down Optimus Prime, but Shockwave used the opportunity to try and remove Megatron from the picture. After trailing Prime through a forest and bringing him to his knees, the Predacons turned on Megatron, blindsiding him, stealing his fusion cannon, and absconding. When Megatron came to, he continued hunting Prime, but when the Autobot leader attacked him, he summoned the [[space bridge]] in hopes of escaping to Cybertron, only for Prime to be transported with him. On Cybertron, Megatron established contact with local Decepticon commander Lord [[Straxus]], whose body had been destroyed by [[Blaster]], leaving him a head floating in a jar.''

''Straxus soon came to consider the irrational Megatron a liability and sought to dispose of him by transplanting his mind into Megatron's body, giving him mobility again while trapping Megatron in his remains. Megatron resisted the transfer, however, and the process went awry, leaving both Straxus and Megatron's minds trapped in Megatron's body together. Outwardly, Megatron seemed to become more and more unstable as the two personalities inside him battled for control; when attacked by Prime and [[Ultra Magnus]], he even proved desperate enough to use his [[antimatter]] manipulation powers, nearly destroying the entire Decepticon complex, until [[Ratbat]] activated the space bridge and sent him back to Earth. Straxus's consciousness fled Megatron's body, and Megatron himself was left with no memory of the whole affair.''

[[Image:Megatrong1marveltooclever.jpg|right|thumb|300px|Yes, you're very smart. Shut up.]]

In order to attain possession of a new energy-generating device, the hydrothermacline, Megatron battled Optimus Prime in a video game duel, using a cheat code to continue the fight after he had lost. Prime defeated him again, but at the expense of some of the game's characters, and ruled himself the loser because he would not have committed such an act in real life. Prime was destroyed, and Megatron's elation soon turned into paranoia, as he had not killed Prime with his own hands, and believed he could still be alive. Bringing the Predacons ''back'' to Earth, Shockwave had them pose as Autobots and attack Megatron in another attempt to remove his threat, but the plan failed when the deranged Megatron defeated even [[Predaking]]. Believing (correctly, as it would turn out) that Prime's mind could have been preserved on computer disk, Megatron descended into outright insanity, and boarded the space bridge, vowing to go where Prime could not follow - right before he blew it up with his fusion cannon, apparently killing himself.

[[Image:Megatrong1marveltwomegatrons.jpg|left|thumb|200px|buggabuggaWHA?]]

''Megatron's absence allowed a contingency plan arranged by Lord Straxus to be put into motion. In the event that his attempt to seize Megatron's body failed, Straxus had had a clone of Megatron created, complete with a copy of his brain patterns, into which his consciousness retreated following the previous debacle. Straxus lay dormant within the clone, which was activated following Megatron's seeming demise, and sent to Earth, to the sewers beneath [[London]]. There, the clone - believing itself to be the genuine article - battled the Autobots, [[G.I. Joe|Action Force]], and the mechanoid [[Centurion (Marvel)|Centurion]], and wound up submerged in the Thames river.''

''Some time later, it was salvaged by Shockwave, who brainwashed it and unleashed it on [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], a recreated future version of Megatron who had traveled back in time from the year 2006 and posed a threat to Shockwave's leadership. The clone Megatron, however, saw a possible partner in Galvatron, and the two teamed up to battle Autobots and Decepticons from both present and future in the apocalyptic [[Time Wars]]. Subsequently, the clone returned to Cybertron, where it defeated the ruling Decepticon Triumvirate, but was then confronted with the ''real'' Megatron - ''the Spacebridge explosion had deposited him in the Dead End region of Cybertron, where he had wandered, with no recollection of who he was, until he had saved [[Blackjack|a Decepticon]] from Autobots and regained his memories.'' The clone Megatron subsequently destroyed itself to prevent Straxus, buried inside its mind, from taking over.''

[[Image:Megs_ratch.jpg|right|thumb|200px|As you can tell, the Marvel Comics weren't very good to Megatron.]]

While Megatron's [[Micromaster]] [[Air Strike Patrol]] created a diversion which pitted Optimus Prime's forces against [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]]'s, Megatron sent his [[Micromaster]] [[Sports Car Patrol]] to capture Ratchet from the Ark, bringing him to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. {{storylink|Back from the Dead}} Threatening Ratchet with the destruction of the Ark and all of his patients aboard, Megatron forced him to recreate Starscream as a [[Pretender]]. Ratchet did so, but also restored [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]], [[Jazz]] and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] in the same manner, thwarting his scheme, and also bringing the explosives on board the Ark through a [[Trans-Time Dimensional Portal|trans-time dimensional portal]] into Megatron's base. When Megatron then attempted to flee through the portal, Ratchet tackled him as the Decepticon's base exploded around them, apparently killing them both. {{storylink|Skin Deep}}

Soon after, however, Autobot detective [[Nightbeat (G1)|Nightbeat]] discovered that the explosion had actually blown them through the portal, and he dispatched a probe to pull them back from the gaps between reality. However, when they rematerialized, it was revealed that the explosion had fused the two enemies together, into a hideous, twisted mockery of a being, which ran rampant through the Ark. The half that was Ratchet begged Optimus Prime to kill them, but Prime could not, and had the [[Micromaster]] [[Fixit]] separate their bodies. Unfortunately, Fixit could not separate their minds, as they were bonded at a molecular level; one could not survive without the other.

Their separated bodies lay in the Ark's medbay until Grimlock pumped them full of [[Nucleon]], though the revitalizing effect took some time to help Ratchet and Megatron come to. Megatron awoke to find [[Galvatron II]], another version of him from the future, wandering the halls of the Ark as it returned to Earth. Galvatron II, driven to insanity, initially tried to kill Megatron to purge the memory of him that haunted his mind. Megatron was in no state to comprehend what was going on around him, and began interpreting Galvatron II's blows as coming from Ratchet.

Though Galvatron II and Megatron eventually came to terms with each other while beating up Shockwave (he and Starscream had stolen the ship), vowing to join forces and take over the galaxy, Ratchet doomed them all by igniting the Ark's engines and spiraling the Autobot spacecraft into the Earth below. Megatron was presumed dead among the remains that constituted the crash site in northern [[Canada]]. {{storylink|A Savage Circle}}
''In an offshoot of the Marvel timeline following the restoration of the Autobots aboard the Ark with Nucleon, but before... uh ... ''(okay, see [[Earthforce]] for continuity notes, it's pretty complicated...)''

''Somewhere in the [[Arizona]] desert, Megatron and the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicon]]s built a rocket that would launch into Earth's atmosphere and detonate, converting the atmosphere into [[energon]]. He was interrupted by [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]] and [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]], and though Megatron insisted they were too late to stop the rocket, {{storylink|Starting Over!}} Prowl rode the rocket into the atmosphere, and was able to destroy the satellite the rocket carried before it released its gas canisters. {{storylink|Desert Island Risks!}}''
''Now that [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]]'s [[Earthforce]] had installed itself to counter Megatron and [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]]'s Decepticons on Earth, the two leaders decided to hold a [[Bad Guy's Ball]] to foster unity. This event was sabotaged by the Earthforce, and once again, Megatron and Shockwave's respective groups were at each other's throats. {{storylink|The Bad Guy's Ball!}}''
[[Image:Megatrong1anothertime.jpg|right|thumb|50px|Yuk!]]

:''"Another Time and Place" was retconned out of continuity a few years later by the Generation 2 comic books.''

Trapped in non-transforming Action Master bodies, Grimlock and the Dinobots snuck a shuttle to [[Hydrus Four]], where rumor had it a new, less destructive brand of [[Nucleon]] had been developed. However, the allegedly defeated Decepticons were waiting for just such a trip, and followed the Dinobots to the planet's surface, where they were ambushed and captured. Grimlock woke up to hear endless chants of "Megatron! Megatron! Megatron!" as technicians had strung up the late Decepticon leader's body, culled from his supposed doom on Earth, for repairs. Bludgeon would revive him, revive their fallen, and then the war would begin anew.

But Bludgeon wouldn't get the chance. The cavalry arrived, and Optimus Prime's Autobots quickly quelled the Decepticons' would-be resurgence. As Bludgeon was taken apart to pieces by a vicious repair spider, a partially-restored Megatron, a visual monstrosity, lunged half-alive at Grimlock and Optimus Prime. With a double-teamed punch, Megatron's undead corpse was easily defeated. The war was truly over. {{storylink|Another Time and Place}}

====Generation 2====
[[Image:Megatrong2cobra.jpg|left|thumb|200px|Green with evil!]]

Although thought dead for a year or two, Megatron had actually survived the Ark crash (though his mental link with Ratchet was forgotten), and had quietly worked to repair it, concealing it beneath the ground. From there, Megatron tracked a signal, mistakenly believing it was another Transformer, but instead he found the shape-shifting castle of the terrorist organization, [[Cobra]]. He entered into a bargain with its leader, [[Cobra Commander]], offering him the technology of the Ark in exchange for the new weapons his organization was developing. Reconstructed into a new tank body with a powerful rail gun, Megatron defeated a squad of Autobots sent to stop him, and then turned on Cobra, capturing the scientist who had developed his gun, [[Dr. Biggles-Jones|Doctor Biggles-Jones]] and escaping in the Ark.

Both [[Skydive (G1)|Skydive]] and [[Spike Witwicky]] had snuck on board, and following a clearly one-sided battle with Spike's [[Headmaster]] partner, [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress Maximus]], Megatron was seemingly killed again when Fortress Maximus threw himself into the Ark's power core, destroying it once and for all. But Megatron (and a repaired Starscream) rejoined the Decepticons on Earth to challenge the current Decepticon leader, Bludgeon. Bludgeon was deposed, fatally, though Megatron continued many of the Pretender's ongoing projects, such as calling the attentions of Optimus Prime to Earth by indiscriminately rampaging across it. When Prime finally showed up, Megatron's old foe at first attempted to talk and join forces against the new threat of [[Jhiaxus]] and his [[Advanced-Decepticon]]s, but Megatron ignored him, ripped the [[Creation Matrix]] from his chest, and left to infuse a new generation of warriors with life. But after securing the galvanizing additive known as [[Rheanimum]], his forces were bested by Jhiaxus.

[[Image:megatrong2idiot.jpg|thumb|300px|Megatron's getting a little too self-aware.]]

Megatron himself was humbled brutally in battle against Jhiaxus, so he entered into an alliance with the Autobots to "put their house in order." Conversely, they were betrayed by Starscream, who joined forces with Jhiaxus' troops, alerted Jhiaxus to the location of the Autobot/Decepticon camp on Earth, and then again betrayed both sides by using the opportunity to steal the Creation Matrix and Megatron's [[Warworld]]. Starscream, using the powers of the Matrix, fused himself with the War World, which gave Megatron and Optimus Prime great difficulty as they fought their way through its shifting insides. Ultimately, Starscream relinquished the Creation Matrix to Optimus Prime when it was discovered that the artifact was making him nice, allowing Megatron to load a ship with canisters of [[Rheanimum]] gas and head back to Earth, where the [[Swarm]] was beginning its attack. Megatron arrived just in time to coat the remaining Transformers with the gas, which protected them from the Swarm long enough for Optimus Prime to defeat the Swarm with the Matrix. The Swarm departed, changed into a force for good, leaving both Autobot and Decepticon seemingly united for good.

[[Image:Megatronclassicscrossingover.jpg|left|thumb|175px|I got your child safety right here pal!]]

Fifteen years had passed since Megatron supposedly died along with Shockwave, Starscream, and Ratchet when the Ark crashed violently into the Yukon. The defeated Decepticon army scattered, and the Autobots were able to return to a peaceful Cybertron.

Inexplicably, Megatron returned (in a new body) and once again stalked the Earth, rallying the remaining Decepticons to him. Megatron rebuilt many of these Decepticons using altered specifications created by [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]], shortly before Megatron presumably had Shockwave decommissioned in an unspecified way. Eventually, Megatron, roaming free, stumbled across [[Skyfall (Cybertron)|Skyfall]] and [[Landquake (Timelines)|Landquake]], who had travelled from [[Unicron Trilogy|their universe]] in a fantastic energon/forcefield explosion, but his evil intentions for them were interrupted by human-piloted [[Armored Robot Hunters]] (or RUNTs) and subsequently a small team of Autobots led by Optimus Prime. {{storylink|Crossing Over, Part 1}}

Megatron managed to escape with Landquake and return with him to the Decepticons' base of operations, where he had Landquake restrained, interrogated, and inspected. Megatron was intrigued by Landquake's claims of being from another dimension. He was further intrigued by a radiation wavelength signature detected in South America that exactly matched Landquake's readouts, and so Megatron led his Decepticons to the source of the signature. {{storylink|Crossing Over, Part 2}} There, he encountered not only a fleet of jet-piloting RUNTs, but also the Autobots again. This time, with the might of his Decepticons behind him, he eagerly engaged in battle. {{storylink|Crossing Over, Part 3}}

Following a war between the Decepticons and the other robot race, the [[Autobot|Autobots]], the Decepticons were defeated by the Autobots' invention of transformation, which allowed them the advantage of stealth. The Autobot victory in the war began the [[Golden Age of Cybertron]], but a viper lurked within this paradise. Eventually, Decepticons too developed transformation, leading to the creation of Megatron by the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicon]]s. {{storylink|Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4|FFOD, Part 4}}

Gathering a small number of troops together, Megatron made a small strike on an outer city, killing the current Autobot leader. Megatron used a device called the [[Robo-Smasher]] to permanently reprogram Autobots and Decepticons into servitude of his cause, thus swelling the Decepticon ranks into a proper army. Among the robots forced into servitude were the Constructicons. {{storylink|The Secret of Omega Supreme}}

However, these events were not made public knowledge, and young robots like the naive [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Orion Pax]] still looked up to Megatron and his followers because of their new robot-mode flight powers. However, Pax soon learned the error of his ways when Megatron duped him into allowing him access to [[Energon]] warehouses, and Megatron fatally injured him in a scuffle. However, the ancient Autobot, [[Alpha Trion]], reconstructed Pax into a battle hardy configuration - now, he was [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], leader of the Autobots and Megatron's sworn opponent as the civil war erupted again. {{storylink|War Dawn}}

Under Megatron's leadership, the Decepticons conquered a large portion of Cybertron, but the war drained Cybertron of most of its energy, necessitating that both factions seek out new worlds and new sources of power. Megatron and his elite forces pursued the Autobots' craft, (referred to as the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]] in Beast Wars, following the ship's name from the G1 Marvel Comics) in their star cruiser (referred to as the [[Nemesis (G1)|Nemesis]] in Beast Wars) and attacked and boarded the craft, causing it to crash on a prehistoric planet, entombing all on the ship in emergency stasis as it crashed into a dormant volcano. {{storylink|More Than Meets the Eye, Part 1|MTMTE, Part 1}}

Four million years later, a volcanic eruption reactivated the Transformers and the war began again on the energy-rich world they found themselves on; Earth. After their first series of battles, the Autobots believed Megatron and the Decepticons destroyed when their [[Decepticon space cruiser|new space cruiser]] crashed into the [[Pacific Ocean]], but in reality they survived and reconstructed the cruiser to serve as a sub-oceanic staging base and bunker. {{storylink|More Than Meets the Eye, Part 2|MTMTE, Part 2}}

Megatron re-established contact with Cybertron, and began construction of an intergalactic transport system called a "space bridge," although the early tests nearly resulted in his destruction when he was sucked into the portal and teleported to Cybertron. The technology was eventually stabilized, however, and used in a grand scheme to transport Cybertron through space into Earth's orbit, where the natural disasters its gravity wreaked created tremendous energy that Megatron and the Decepticons gathered. {{storylink|Transport to Oblivion}} {{storylink|The Ultimate Doom, Part 1}}

The Earth was saved, however, when Megatron's stockpiles of energy were detonated by the Autobots, the explosion forcing Cybertron out of orbit. Again, however, Megatron was able to cheat death, and was forced to team up with Optimus Prime in order to stop the machinations of his treacherous lieutenant, [[Starscream_(G1)|Starscream]]. {{storylink|The Ultimate Doom, Part 3}} {{storylink|Countdown to Extinction}}

In his next scheme, Megatron absorbed all the separate powers of the other Decepticons into himself, and challenged Optimus Prime to one-on-one combat. With the added abilities of all his minions, Megatron easily defeated Prime in the battle, but when his deception was revealed, he and his followers were defeated in a group attack. {{storylink|Heavy Metal War}}

Over the following years, Megatron's schemes to obtain Earth's energies continued. His assorted plans included various attempts to harness the power of Earth's core, thefts of several unstable energy devices from human scientists, the draining of energy from a time-lost prehistoric island, and partnership with a human politician that allowed him to force the Autobots off of Earth, and actually allowed him to conquer [[Central City (G1)|Central City]] among [[Giant Purple Griffin|many]], many others. {{storylink|The Core}} {{storylink|Dinobot Island, Part 1}} {{storylink|Megatron's Master Plan, Part 1}} {{storylink|Aerial Assualt}}
After [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]] was revived by [[I.I.I.]] installing the uploaded consciousness from the flight recorder of the starship he used on prehistoric Earth, he used [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]]'s [[Kronosphere]] on Cybertron to transport Megatron and his fleet to the year 2006, so the Autobots would have to bear the brunt of Unicron's attack in 2005 and the time-displaced Decepticons could return to crush their weakened forces. This strategy proved to be largely effective, as Megatron eventually returned and assumed full control over Cybertron after the defeat of Unicron. These events forced the Autobots into desperate action, however. While Megatron was leading the Decepticon army in an assault on the Sol System, [[Mirage (G1)|Mirage]] snuck onto Cybertron and threw a [[large switch]] the Autobots had received information on. This switch effectively froze every non-Binaltech Transformer throughout the entire universe, including Megatron and his armada at the [[Earth Defense Command]] post they were attacking on Mars. The only active Decepticons in the area, [[Nemesis Prime (Alternators)|Nemesis Prime]] and Shockwave, staged a full retreat while using drones to gather up as many of the frozen Decepticons as possible. Since Nemesis Prime was last seen taking Megatron's throne for himself, it is unknown if he took the frozen Megatron to safety, or left the former Decepticon leader to be taken into custody.
Eventually, Megatron turned his attention away from Earth, and succeeded in completely conquering Cybertron by the Earth year 2005. However, the Autobots maintained control of two of Cybertron's moons, and retained a large reserve force on Earth. Learning the Autobots were preparing a strike against the planet, Megatron and the Decepticons intercepted the shuttle sent to Earth to acquire energy to power the raid, and unleashed a [[Battle of Autobot City|mighty assault]] on [[Autobot City]]. In the course of the conflict, word was sent to Optimus Prime, who arrived the following morning after the slaughter and confronted Megatron in another one-on-one struggle. Megatron appeared beaten, but spying a discarded pistol, stalled for time by pleading for mercy as he attempted to reach it. The young Autobot [[Hot Rod]] then intervened, tackling Megatron, but amazingly, one of the most powerful Decepticon was too much for him, seizing him and using him as shield as he grabbed the pistol and opened fire on Prime. Funny that. The wounds were fatal and sent Prime to the grave - but not before he delivered his own final blow to Megatron, seriously damaging him and forcing the Decepticons to flee.

On the return trip to Cybertron, it became necessary to jettison excess mass, or the Decepticons would be unable to reach the planet. The wounded Decepticons were voted out, and set adrift in space, with Starscream personally jettisoning Megatron. But this was not to be the end for the great slag-maker, as the world-devourer, [[Unicron]], found him and recreated him into [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]]. {{storylink|The Transformers: The Movie}}

A evil force named [[Dark Nova]] recovered Galvatron's body from the iceberg he was buried in and restored him to life as '''Super Megatron''', pitting him against [[Optimus Prime (G1)#Battlestars: Return of Convoy (Japan-only)|Star Convoy]], the reborn Optimus Prime, and his Autobots.
For the final battle, Dark Nova merged with the remains of Ultra Megatron and formed the massive [[Dark Nova|Star Giant]]. Star Giant was virtually invincible from the outside, so Star Convoy, [[Grandus]] and [[Sky Garry]] traveled inside his body and began tearing up the joint. As soon as they'd inflicted enough damage, the trio escaped just as Star Giant detonated, leaving only his head some-what intact. However, after human soldiers killed one of his dearest comrades, he adopted a new body and began the war anew.

Megatron coordinated an onslaught of attacks which mortally wounded Optimus Prime (who had adopted a new missile trailer mode to counter Megatron). Killing Optimus Prime wasn't so easy, as the [[spark|essences]] of the previous Autobot Supreme Commanders within the [[Matrix of Leadership]] used the [[Reconfiguration Matrix]] to transform Optimus into Laser Optimus Prime. In the year 199X, the Decepticons had learned of a powerful new energy source known as [[forestonite]] which just happened to be located (surprise surprise) on [[Earth]]. Megatron sent his trio of [[Cyberjet]]s to Earth first to draw out the enemy Autobots. The Cyberjets made quick work of [[Electro]] but were soon halted by the appearance of Optimus Prime.

Megatron then entered the fray and fired his Black Hole Burn attack from his fusion cannon, narrowly missing Optimus Prime but vaporizing [[Hooligan]] in the process. Prime fought fiercely but Megatron began to take the upper-hand in battle.

However, Prime was encouraged to keep fighting by the cheers of a human boy named [[Junpei]]. Megatron, surprised at Prime's resiliance, attempted to finish his foe off with his Tornado Axe attack. Prime countered with his Double Wheel-Torque Mega-Ton, which trumped Megatron's attack and injured the Decepticon badly. Megatron teleported back to his ship and left Earth's atmosphere, vowing to return.
Megatron's forces began a civil war of Autobot against Decepticon in order to mask his reactivation of the ancient planetary engines buried beneath Cybertron’s surface. As a result, Cybertron would be transformed into a massive warworld that would cut a swathe of destruction through the galaxy. What he required, however, was a power source for the engines, which he believed could be found in the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]]. He personally killed [[Sentinel Prime]], but found the Matrix was not with him. He sent two assassination squads after [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], the new [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]], before going for him personally. During the fight, Megatron's lieutenant [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]], shot both leaders into a deep hole. During their subsequent battle, Megatron explained his goals, and urged Prime to join him. His attack on Prime also cracked the Matrix's casing, causing both Transformers to see visions of the future. Unfortunately for Megatron, Starscream activated the planet mechaforming process too soon, resulting in the destruction of the machinery, and Prime erased Megatron's memories of the future, and of the engines. {{storylink|The War Within}}

Roughly 7.4 million years BCE, Megatron and Optimus Prime disappeared in an early test of the then-unstable [[Space Bridge]] matter-transport system. Spending an undisclosed time on the planet [[Quintessa]], Megatron returned with an overwhelming army of lifeless [[Air Warrior|seeker clones]], quickly subjugating Cybertron. ''(This story was never finished due to the closure of Dreamwave, though the seekers and presumably Megatron as well were eventually defeated.)''

Four million years BCE, Cybertron was threatened by a massive approaching asteroid, so Optimus Prime led a contingent of Autobots aboard the [[Ark]] to blow the rock to fragments, which were transported away by an orbital Space Bridge network. When this task was completed, Megatron chose this moment to strike, attacking the Ark with his troops. Crippled, the craft flew through one of the Space Bridge portals, and was transported to prehistoric Earth, where it crashed, entombing the occupants in stasis for four million years.

The Autobots and Decepticons were reactivated in 1984, but specific details of their battles in the 1980s and 1990s are unrecorded. (Presumably, they broadly resembled the G1 cartoon and comic books.) In 1999, when a Autobot/Human military alliance succeeded in capturing and deactivating the Decepticons. However, the [[Ark II]] spaceship carrying them back to Cybertron exploded shortly after liftoff, and the Transformers were believed destroyed. In actuality, they had been scattered back to Earth, where they lay in [[stasis lock]] across the globe for three years. This slumber was brought to an end when [[Lazarus|Adam Rook]] (aka Lazarus), a rogue military scientist who had devised a method of controlling Transformers, salvaged many of the fallen Cybertronians and reprogrammed them as mass killing machines, which he then attempted to sell on the black market. Megatron was first to break free of the human's control, overriding the new programming and capturing Lazarus during an auction. Megatron forced Lazarus to watch as he unleashed a technorganic virus designed to transform all of Earth into a new Cybertron. It also served to lure Optimus Prime and the Autobots, also now reactivated, to his location. Megatron, tired of the war, continuously asked Prime to join him. After his first failed attempt, Megatron unleashed [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]] on [[San Francisco]], ensuing in mass slaughter, in an attempt to show Prime the humans were not worth fighting for. However, the selfless sacrifice of several firemen restored Prime's faith in humanity and allowed him and the Autobots to beat back Megatron.

Several months later. Megatron was subliminally summoned to a remote area in Alaska along with the other Earthbound Transformers. There they battled until Megatron's former second-in-command, [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]], arrived and revealed that in their absence the war on Cybertron had ended. He arrested Megatron, Prime, and their troops as war criminals. Megatron, weakened by battle, was quickly defeated by Shockwave and loaded aboard his shuttle for return to Cybertron, only to have Starscream seize the opportunity by jettisoning him into space on the return trip. Megatron used the time floating in space to contemplate his existence and the Decepticon goal. Realizing that he had wasted millennia in his feud with Prime, Megatron resolved to once again conquer Cybertron as a means of enhancing the Transformer race and strengthening it from outside threats. It seemed as through he would not live to accomplish this goal, however, as death closed in on him... only for him to be retrieved by the [[Junkion]] [[Wreck-Gar (G1)|Wreck-Gar]]. Wreck-Gar took Megatron to the planet [[Junkion (planet)|Junkion]] and repaired and re-armed him, as well as digging up and reactivating a number of seeker clones that had wound up there after being dumped through space bridge portals. Megatron returned the favor by stabbing him in the back with an energy dagger.

Traveling to the Planet [[Beest]], Megatron defeated the exiled Decepticon warlords, the [[Predacon (G1)|Predacons]], and rebuilt them into the mightiest of all combiners, [[Predaking (G1)|Predaking]], to serve as his ace in the hole in his quest to reclaim leadership of the Decepticons. Moving in stealth on Cybertron, Megatron defeated Shockwave, severing his laser arm and forcing him into servitude. He then returned to Earth to collect the remaining Decepticons under Starscream's command, and to teach Starscream a lesson long in coming.

''While it was alluded that Megatron had a grand goal in mind that also included the subjugation of the [[Quintessons]], the remainder of the story has yet to be told due to the closure of Dreamwave. However it has been stated by representatives of IDW publishing, the current holders of the Transformer comic license, that once Dreamwave has exited bankruptcy court, they intend to finish the story.''
Later, a Decepticon scientist, [[Thunderwing (G1)|Thunderwing]], came to Megatron with a revolutionary, controversial plan to stave off this energy death by [[Pretender|polydermal grafting]], a process where they encased themselves in "symbiotic carapaces," or shells created from living tissue. When Megatron dismissed him angrily and cut him down, Thunderwing did not abandon his research, but instead experimented on himself. As a result, this made Thunderwing so powerful that Megatron had to join forces with Optimus Prime to stop him. This battle at [[Thunderhead Pass]] accelerated the apocalypse destined to befall Cybertron, leaving it an uninhabitable, radioactive husk and forcing both armies to continue their war on other worlds. Megatron advocated that they simply destroy Cybertron to ensure that Thunderwing is destroyed, but Prime refused, and threatened to stop Megatron if he tried. Megatron agreed not to destroy the planet, but warned Prime that whatever happened was on his head.
Megatron, meanwhile, was on Earth, investigating Starscream's infiltration team. He discovered that Starscream had stumbled across [[Ore-13]], an incredible energy source which had been [[Spotlight: Shockwave|mysteriously seeded there]], and that the [[Air Commander]] was planning to use it to usurp Megatron's command. After seriously damaging the hesitantly rebellious [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]] and [[Blitzwing]], Megatron faced a super-powered Starscream.
He then used Ore-13's power for fancy [[size changing|mass-displacement technology]] and turned into a pistol [[Scale|for use in human hands]], proclaiming himself to be the most powerful living weapon in the universe. Or maybe he just wanted to be held. He personally took charge of the Decepticon subterfuge in Brasnia, guiding the fascimile of [[Georgi Koska]] in an attempt to escalate an international incident into a full polarizing war. However, his choice of disguise quickly proved to be a really, really stupid move as apparently fleshie constructs holding guns are no match for armored cars with weapons. Stuck on the ground, he then transformed as Optimus Prime came into his range and started a full-blown melee with his longtime foe for all the nuts and bolts.

Though he lost his fusion cannon almost right away, Megatron soon gained the upper hand, bursting at the seams with an Ore-13 high. Incapacitating Prime, he reached into his battered foe's chest and squeezed, seemingly killing his longtime opponent. Aghast, the Autobots moved into a full but ineffective counterattack, unable to stop the rampaging Decepticon (who fortunately couldn't just mow them down with his gun). However, Prime's death was a desperate ruse, and the Autobot leader countered with a surprise attack on Megatron, using the same tactics he used against Thunderwing to force Megatron to burn through his reserves prematurely. Now on the ropes, his plan in shambles, Megatron transformed and retreated with Skywarp and Thundercracker before being finished off.

After the Autobot/Decepticon war moved to Earth, Megatron hunted down the [[Voyager probe]] as it travelled through the [[Solar System]] and encoded on its disc a message. Should his efforts fail, he left detailed instructions to any Decepticon descendants who recovered the disc, instructions which apparently condoned use of [[transwarp]] technology to alter history in his favor by locating the ''Ark'' before it is reactivated, with access codes to the ''Ark'' stored in the Disk, and killing Optimus Prime before the Autobots and Decepticons reawaken. {{storylink|The Agenda, Part 2|The Agenda, Part 2 (backstory)}}

[[Image:G1Megatron_Disc_Agenda_part2.jpg|right|thumb|200px|Now thats what I call a smile.]]

The disk (dubbed the [[Golden Disk (Voyager)|Golden Disk]]) eventually fell into Cybertronian hands and was stolen by a [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] who shared Megatron's name. {{storylink|Beast Wars, Part 1}} This new [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]], later stranded in Earth's past, was able to use a recording of the original Megatron to sway one of the original Megatron's most loyal troops, [[Ravage]], to his cause. {{storylink|The Agenda, Part 2}}

[[Image:G1Megs_Nemesis_part2_deletedclip.jpg|left|thumb|150px|I was cut out?! This is Starscream's doing!]]

The original Megatron himself was stranded in Earth's past on board the Ark, offline. Before long, Predacon Megatron was able to approach the comatose body of his namesake and steal his [[Spark]], integrating it into his own systems. Almost immediately, however, during Predacon Megatron's painful reaction to this integration, he was thrown into a pool of lava by his treacherous underlings. In spite of -- or perhaps because of -- this, Predacon Megatron emerged from the lava, with a new body that could now transform into a fire-breathing dragon. It is unknown how much influence the original Megatron's Spark had in this metamorphosis. {{storylink|Master Blaster}} At the end of the Beast Wars, after Predacon Megatron was succumbed, the original Megatron's Spark was returned to his body, restoring the flow of history. <ref>This scene was cut out of [[Nemesis, Part 2]] for time, but its occurrence is still implied by [[Optimus Primal]]'s note that all was as it should be. The clip was added as a special feature to [[Kid Rhino]]'s and [[Madman Entertainment]]'s ''Beast Wars'' season 3 DVD box sets.</ref>

A Megatron is mentioned in the [[Covenant of Primus]], an ancient sacred text which claims to prophesy future events, including the Beast Wars. It is implied that both Megatrons took their name from here. {{storylink|Nemesis, Part 2}}
[[Image:P-Megatron.jpg|thumb|left|150px|Microman Megatron's concept model. Back then, he was a little less happy to see you.]]

[[Image:Earlymegatron.jpg|right|thumb|120px|The [[fusion cannon]]'s got that handle because... well, we're not sure.]]

* Early in the ''Transformers'' series preproduction, Megatron's look was based not on the toy, but on concept art for an unproduced prototype version. This early version, sporting a different, black head, a very different scope/fusion cannon, and the gun's barrel on his back, managed to make its way into not only early commercial animation and licensed material, but into the art of the early Marvel Comics. Though the model was altered before the animated series was produced, elements from the first model were perpetuated such as the back-mounted barrel in both the comic and the cartoon. The Marvel Comics continued to color Megatron's helmet black (well, blue) until the end of its run.

* The name "Megatron" was originally used by Marvel Comics for ''another'' robot that appeared long before the Transformers toyline came about, in issue 18 of the ''Shogun Warriors'' series (written by Doug Moench, art by Herb Trimpe, released in July 1980)<ref>[http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix2/droneracecharter.htm#Megatron Megatron and the "Drones" from Marvel's ''Shogun Warriors'' comic at the Appendix to the Handbook of the Marvel Universe]</ref>. [[Bob Budiansky]] suggested the name "Megatron" for the Transformers line (it's unclear if he was aware of the existing Marvel character, though as an editor it seems likely that he at least had a subconscious memory of it) but [[Hasbro]] initially rejected it, claiming that "mega" conjured images of nuclear bombs. Budiansky reminded them that the name was supposed to sound evil, because he's the leader of the bad guys. Hasbro responded, "Oh, right," and then approved the name. <ref>[http://www.alteredstatesmag.com/features/qanda/bbudiansky_2.php ASM: A Little Q&A with... Bob Budiansky]</ref>

* In the UK comics, [[Dreadwind (G1)|Dreadwind]] explains that Megatron is the equivalent of a 'blueblood,' possessing some royal lineage.<ref>[[Letters page (Marvel UK)]] #227</ref>

* After his fight with Optimus Prime in the animated movie, Megatron appears to have energon leaking from his eyes and mouth. Either that or he's been crying, which seems unlikely.

*In Megatron: Origins #2, we see that Megatron's helmet is, in fact, a helmet and not part of his head. Upon removing his helmet, Megatron then briefly unfurls a crest. The significance of this moment is not explained, nor is it ever revisited.

*Megatron once crushed [[Brawl (G1)|Brawl's]] head with his bare hands!

Throughout the various Transformers canon, there have been several instances of Transformers with humanistic traits and having very human actions that possibly conflict with their status as mechanical robots. Many of these instances can be dismissed as stylistic choices by the artists or as gags not to be taken seriously.

==Glandular, digestive, and respiratory==
===Sweating===

* In [[DIS-Integrated Circuits|issue nine]] of the original [[Generation 1 (Marvel comic)|''Generation 1'' comic]], [[Frenzy (G1)|Frenzy]] is seen leaking lubricant from his head during a stressful confrontation with [[Shockwave]] (as Shockwave points out), in a manner resembling sweating.

* Numerous times in the Marvel UK comic, [[Kup]] can be seen "sweating."

* ''[[Robots in Disguise (cartoon)|Robots in Disguise]]'' and ''[[Armada (cartoon)|Armada]]'' featured Transformers displaying the traditional anime "sweatdrop," a giant bead of liquid appearing at the side of the head to convey embarrassment or exasperation.

===Coughing===
* In the G1 episode [[Roll For It]], when the Autobots emerge from the ruins of a demolished [[antimatter]] laboratory, they are coughing.

* In Beast Wars, Megatron begins to cough for no reason while making a triumphant speech. Much like Powerglide's "heart", this could be a one-shot joke.

*In the episode Mortal Combat in Transformers Armada, right after Optimus Prime says "I wish I could accommodate you", he coughs silently.

===Breathing===
* When being constricted by a python, Cheetor says he can't breathe. {{storylink|Dark Voyage}}
* In an Energon episode, [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] instructs [[Ironhide (Energon)|Ironhide]] that they have to synchronize their breathing before they can [[Powerlinx|powerlink]].

===Spitting===

* Throughout his term on the Marvel UK comic letters page, [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]] would regularly say "(Puttup)" after mentioning the Autobots or an Autobot's name to represent him spitting in disgust. This habit made an in-story appearance, with him spitting at [[Robot-Master]] despite his [[Mouthplate|mouthplate]].
* In issue 72 of the Marvel US comics, after [[Nightbeat]] escapes from the Decepticons's New Jersey base via a sewer, he spits as he complains about their poor choice of backdoor.
* In the ''[[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' episode "[[Tangled Web]]", [[Quickstrike (BW)|Quickstrike]] "spat" after reissuing his challenge to tangle with [[Silverbolt (Fuzor)|Silverbolt]], despite the fact that, like Soundwave, he has no apparent mouth.

===Crying===
*[[Image:Omega Supreme tears up.jpg|thumb|right|Tissue: desired.]]A twinkle of light that may not literally be a tear, but is clearly intended to imply one, can be seen in [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]]'s eye at the end of "[[The Secret of Omega Supreme]]".

*When [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] dies in ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] is seen to dab at her eyes.

*As he mourns his dead friend [[Snowstalker]] and decides he can never fight again, [[Tigatron]] cries a single tear in beast mode.

* When pondering [[Silverbolt (Fuzor)|Silverbolt]]'s fate in ''[[Beast Machines]]'', [[Blackarachnia]] is shown to shed a single tear from one of her spider eyes.

* Throughout ''[[Beast Wars II (television series)|Beast Wars II]]'' and ''[[Robots in Disguise]]'', and occasionally in the ''[[Armada (cartoon)|Armada]]'' cartoon, several characters are seen crying in conventional anime fashion.

*Tears can be seen welling up in [[Ironhide (Energon)|Ironhide]]'s eyes and falling to the ground in ''[[Energon (cartoon)|Energon]]'' as he mourns a fallen comrade.

===Eating===
*There are references to [[Cybertronian food]].
*In [[Beast Wars]], the Maximals and Predacons are shown to eat:
**[[Tarantulas]] even displays something of a voracious appetite, eating rats and leaving webs to catch prey. At one point he captures Cheetor and prepares to drain his fluids, claiming that it is the act he prefers over the nourishment (which adds just another level of creepy to the already creepy Tarantulas) {{storylink|The Web}}
**[[Rattrap]] eats apples. {{storylink|The Web}}
**[[Terrorsaur]] eats a bird. {{storylink|Power Surge}}
**[[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] ate a clone of his. [[Optimus Primal]] remarked that he was "disgusting". {{storylink|Double Dinobot}}
**While suffering from an [[Energon]] discharge virus, [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] eats wild beans to build up his power. This later ends disasterously for [[Megatron (BW)|Megs]]. {{storylink|The Low Road}}
*In [[Beast Machines]], [[Nightscream]] is shown eating what appears to be metallic apples. Boy's got some strong teeth. {{storylink|In Darkest Knight}}
*Also in Beast Machines, [[Optimus Primal]] wants to eat the underground tree's fruit; [[Cheetor]] protests that "we don't eat food, we process [[energon]]--PERIOD!", but is overruled. {{storylink|Forbidden Fruit}}

===Flatulence===

* In the ''[[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' episode "[[The Low Road]]", Rhinox lets out an extreme amount of flatulence after consuming wild bean vines. This could be due to Maximals having organic parts in their makeup.
* Also in Beast Wars, In the episode "[[Bad Spark]]", [[Cheetor]] also lets out flatulence, blaming it on a large buildup of energy from his [[Transmetal]] body.

===Urination===
* [[Tasmania Kid]] urinated (in beast mode) to put out a fire.
* [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] performed a similar action on [[Agent Simmons]], by popping off his gas cap in robot mode. Optimus Prime claims that he was just "lubricating" him.

===Intoxication===

* In the [[Generation 1 (cartoon)|G1 cartoon]] episode "[[Microbots]]", the [[Decepticons]] are noticeably behaving in an intoxicated fashion after consuming a high-grade [[energon]]. [[Powerglide (G1)|Powerglide]] referred to this as "over-energizing".

* In ''Beast Wars II'', [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] gets "drunk" on numerous occasions.

* In the UK comic, the [[Wreckers]] frequent a "bar" on Cybertron called [[Maccadam's Old Oil House]], where they consume high-grade energon, presumably for the purposes of getting intoxicated. [[Dreadwind (G1)|Dreadwind]] and [[Darkwing]] paid a visit to this establishment in a later story, and got so hammered that they didn't even notice [[Quickswitch]] fighting with some [[Mecannibals]].

==Body parts==
===Teeth/tongues/eyeballs===

[[Image:MegatronTongue1.jpg|thumb|right|200px|A little too friendly, there, Megatron...]]

* The [[Generation 1 (cartoon)|Generation 1]] cartoon series is the only major piece of fiction to ''not'' present Transformers as possessing teeth and/or tongues. The features appear in both the [[Marvel]] and [[Dreamwave]] comics, the ''[[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' and ''[[Beast Machines (cartoon)|Beast Machines]]'' animated series (where teeth would even be knocked out on occasion), the ''[[Robots in Disguise (cartoon)|Robots in Disguise]]'' cartoon, and the [[Unicron Trilogy]] cartoons and comics.

* One of the most recent examples to carry on this tradition is the ''[[Kiss Players]]'' manga, in which a [[Legion]] character is equipped with a distinctive prehensile tongue.

===Questionable body parts===

[[Image:PredaBrain1.jpg|left|150px|thumb|Predaking: All brawn AND brains! ]]

* Nearly all Transformers seem to possess noses for no discernable functional reason.

* In the G1 episode "[[The Girl Who Loved Powerglide]]", [[Powerglide]] is seen at the end of the episode having the LED outline of a cartoon heart within his chasis. This is somewhat nonsensical within in the context of the show (the contents of Transformers chest cavitites had been shown several times before), and is probably merely meant as a one-off sight gag.

* [[Alpha Trion]], [[Scourge]], and [[Wreck-Gar]] all sport "facial hair" in the G1 cartoon.

* [[Predaking]] (possibly brought back from the dead) has an organic brain when he is sliced in half in ''[[Zone]]''.

{{-}}

==Other biological functions==
===Sleep===
* In the G1 comic, [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] falls asleep and dreams (or rather, has a nightmare). This goes against established canon for that continuity that Transformers deactivate fully rather than "sleep," a point Ratchet himself makes.

* In the ''[[Generation 2]]'' [[Generation 2 (Marvel comic)|comic]], Kup attempts to rouse a vision-struck Optimus Prime by urging him to "wake up" -- then reminds himself that "we don't sleep!"

* In ''[[Beast Wars]]'', it has been firmly established that (perhaps partially due to their organic components), all Transformers within the cartoon sleep. Some prime examples of this are:
** Megatron has been shown to sleep in the command chair of the ''Darksyde'', while his dino head mounted on the end of his arm stays awake, looks around, and smiles slyly. Wonder what it thinks about...
** Cheetor has been shown asleep at many points, complete with (occasionally prophetic) dreams. In [[Feral Scream, Part 2]], he also purrs when he's asleep. How cute!
** In "[[Call of the Wild]]", the Maximals are kept awake for two days by the Predacons' non-stop attacks on their base, which exacerbate their beast instincts overriding their logic circuits.

* ''[[Beast Wars II]]'' [[Galvatron (BWII)|Galvatron]] often nods off in a narcoleptic-like fashion.

* ''Armada'' [[Cyclonus (Armada)|Cyclonus]] is quite fond of catching forty winks when possible. [[Scavenger (Armada)|Scavenger]] did the same on one occasion. Armada Megatron was also seen asleep twice in the episode "Rebellion".

===Sexuality===
One of the most controversial aspects of Transformers is the idea of sexuality. While it is established in most continuities that Transformers do not reproduce sexually, most continuities nonetheless have distinctive male and [[female Transformers|female characters]] (with the notable exception of the G1 comic, which explicitly states there is no sexual distinction).

[[Image:Sideburnhearts.jpg|thumb|right|Sorry Sideburn, I don't think Wedge rolls that way.]]

The G1 cartoon brought the first official female Autobots into the canon, including [[Elita One (G1)|Elita One]] and [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]]. The characters are noticeably more feminine in design and have clearly defined romantic relationships with male Autobots.

The issue becomes more complicated in ''Beast Wars'', where the sexuality line is clearly defined ([[Blackarachnia]] has a particularly well defined female figure, including what appears to be an ample bosom). It is hinted on occasion that the robots may engage in activities resembling human sex acts. Rattrap slyly makes a double entendre to [[Silverbolt (Fuzor)|Silverbolt]] regarding his suspected kinky activities with Predacon Blackarachnia, and later makes a comment about going to what sounds like a Cybertonian version of a strip club. In the Metals dub, Rattrap, thinking himself about to be stabbed by Dinobot, asked him to "be gentle, because I've heard the first time can hurt."

In the original Japanese version of ''Energon'', [[Tidal Wave|Mirage]] displays romantic interest in [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]], causing his comrades to regard him with minor confusion. The ''Energon'' dub seemed to do its best to skirt around this issue, with Mirage's exclamations either being about different things entirely or simple cheering on of his leader - but they couldn't do anything about the hands-clapsed-beside-his-head-while-doe-eyed expressions, or the one time that he pirouetted, struck a pose while surrounded by a giant glowing pink heart. ''Why'', Japan?

===Coughing===

===Breathing===
* When being constricted by a python, Cheetor says he can't breathe. {{storylink|Dark Voyage}}
* In an Energon episode, [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] instructs [[Ironhide (Energon)|Ironhide]] that they have to synchronize their breathing before they can [[Powerlinx|powerlink]].

===Spitting===

===Crying===

===Eating===
*There are references to [[Cybertronian food]].
*In [[Beast Wars]], the Maximals and Predacons are shown to eat:
**[[Tarantulas]] even displays something of a voracious appetite, eating rats and leaving webs to catch prey. At one point he captures Cheetor and prepares to drain his fluids, claiming that it is the act he prefers over the nourishment (which adds just another level of creepy to the already creepy Tarantulas) {{storylink|The Web}}
**[[Rattrap]] eats apples. {{storylink|The Web}}
**[[Terrorsaur]] eats a bird. {{storylink|Power Surge}}
**[[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] ate a clone of his. [[Optimus Primal]] remarked that he was "disgusting". {{storylink|Double Dinobot}}
**While suffering from an [[Energon]] discharge virus, [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] eats wild beans to build up his power. This later ends disasterously for [[Megatron (BW)|Megs]]. {{storylink|The Low Road}}
*In [[Beast Machines]], [[Nightscream]] is shown eating what appears to be metallic apples. Boy's got some strong teeth. {{storylink|In Darkest Knight}}
*Also in Beast Machines, [[Optimus Primal]] wants to eat the underground tree's fruit; [[Cheetor]] protests that "we don't eat food, we process [[energon]]--PERIOD!", but is overruled. {{storylink|Forbidden Fruit}}

===Flatulence===

===Urination===
* [[Tasmania Kid]] urinated (in beast mode) to put out a fire.
* [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] performed a similar action on [[Agent Simmons]], by popping off his gas cap in robot mode. Optimus Prime claims that was just "lubricating" him.

===Intoxication===

==Body parts==
===Teeth/tongues/eyeballs===

===Questionable body parts===

{{-}}

==Other biological functions==
===Sleep===

===Sexuality===
