What looks like a ball turret, sounds like a bicycle, bounces like a pinball, has no energy signature, makes a great cat toy for Cheetor, and plays 1920's carnival music t'boot? It's a subaquatic stealth vessel, or a submarine in plain language. Blackarachnia built it, but it was poor Rattrap who had to operate it.

It features a single propeller driven by a hand crank, an external manipulator arm, floodlights (also powered by the hand crank), and a radar system and proximity alert. It's not very large; apart from Blackarachnia, only Rattrap could fit inside, and it was a stretch for him.

Charged with defending their inert ancestors aboard the Ark, the Maximals tried to use Teletraan I's shields to guard their base, to no avail. Optimus Primal's next plan was to salvage the Sentinel shield module from the sunken ruins of the Axalon. Depth Charge, the only Maximal capable of underwater operation, refused to answer the call -- but Blackarachnia came up with a backup plan, constructing a small submarine to search the Axalon's wreckage. Over his vociferous protests, Primal nominated Rattrap to pilot it.

Silverbolt carried Rattrap and the submarine to the lake at the bottom of the cliffs where the old Maximal base had stood, and unceremoniously dropped him into the water. Rattrap, after an initial moment of panic, discovered that piloting the sub was actually pretty fun.

Making his way into the murky remains of the ship, Rattrap located Sentinel, still attached to the main computer core. His first attempt to wrench it free with the sub's manipulator only scared out an eel; before he could start a second attempt, the proximity alarm sounded -- something was approaching, fast!

Rattrap attempted to escape the ship, but a claw loomed up out of the darkness, as Rampage siezed and began to crush the defenseless ship. As Rattrap watched helplessly, the compressed ship sprang a leak and creaked ominously; only the timely arrival of Depth Charge kept Rattrap from becoming Rampage's latest victim. While the two powerhouses fought it out, Rattrap returned to the computer core and pulled Sentinel loose. Blowing the sub's ballast, he rose to the surface as the Axalon's wreckage sank deeper, dislodged by the fighting below.

Silverbolt pulled Rattrap and the sub out of the water, but an attack by Waspinator sent his cargo tumbling to the ground. The submarine bounced wildly off the rocky terrain, losing most of its external parts in the process. Whether the Maximals abandoned it there is not known, but it had completed its mission and was not seen again. Changing of the Guard
Quickstrike is a spastic, violent, trigger-happy cowboy who rarely thinks beyond the next "keister he's gonna kick." This simple-minded lust for beating people up seems to be his overriding personality trait. While this makes him easy to manipulate, which Megatron finds extremely useful, the problem he has found is that Quickstrike is so easy to manipulate that Megatron's not the only one doing so! Both Tarantulas and Blackarachnia have their hooks in him in some form or another, leading Megatron to consider controlling the vicious little bugger through the good old-fashioned method: fear of death. Quickstrike may be stupidly brave most of the time, but only to a point.
Relishing his role as a Predacon from the moment he stepped out of his stasis pod,Coming of the Fuzors (Part 1) Quickstrike fit right into Megatron's band. Though he contained no traces of the Predacon shell program like Blackarachnia, his rowdy nature and love of violence made the actual facts irrelevant. Quickstrike generally filled an infantry/trooper role and followed the orders he was given. However, he does have two notable instances when he was manipulated into betraying Megatron.

Tarantulas easily pushed Quickstrike's buttons, and the two, along with Blackarachnia, formed an "arachnid alliance" of their own. Their plans never came to fruition, because they were interrupted by the Maximals, and Megatron never found out. Tangled Web After a device of Tarantulas's took over Optimus Primal's body, Quickstrike was put in charge of the golem that controlled it. Once the Maximals were defeated, and the Ark open, Quickstrike (under orders from Tarantulas) used his control over Optimus to toss Megatron into the lava surrounding the Ark. * Like Rampage, Quickstrike did not have a Predacon shell program installed in his Maximal protoform state to turn him bad. It's possible the damage done to his stasis pod warped his personality. More unsettling is the theory that this IS his true, spark-given personality, and the Maximal programming knocked off-line by his crash would have been just as distortive on his mind as the Predacon shell program was on Blackarachnia.
Another logical explanation of this could be the natures of his beast form(s) which led (or at the very least) increased his aggressiveness factor.
Summary
The Maximals, secure for the first time since they moved into Mount St. Hilary, begin searching for the Predacons, who have been vulnerable since Tigerhawk destroyed the Darksyde. Optimus Primal quotes a verse from the Covenant of Primus, believing Tigerhawk's arrival to be divine prophecy. The Predacons are growing disaffected with Megatron. (Even Waspinator is mouthing off.) Inferno, ever loyal to his "queen", declares that a new "colony" will resecure them. Megatron orders him to take Waspinator and Quickstrike, while he, Rampage, and Dinobot 2 search the remains of Tarantulas's lair. Dinobot finds a hatch which leads to an underwater tunnel, which in turn leads to something that greatly excites Megatron.

Silverbolt and Depth Charge spot Inferno, Waspinator, and Quickstrike leaving. Optimus orders them to fall back, but Depth Charge heads in. Optimus leaves with Blackarachnia, Cheetor, and Tigerhawk to support them. As Primal arrives, Depth Charge finds the hatch&mdash;and a bomb. The explosion fails to kill any of the Maximals, but Silverbolt is damaged, and Blackarachnia and Cheetor escort his parts back to base. At the Protohumans' cave dwellings, Inferno declares that the caves will be their new "colony". He orders Quickstrike and Waspinator to engage, but Waspinator angrily refuses. Something has finally snapped in Waspy's central processor, and he declares that he is out of the Beast Wars. After a tirade against Megatron, the Predacons, life in general, and always being blown up, Waspinator tells them that they can kiss his stinger. Inferno and Quickstrike blast him, and proceed to attack the Protohumans (who have become much tougher, having learned from the example of Dinobot and the Maximals).

In the tunnels, Primal, Tigerhawk, and Depth Charge continue searching. After locating a data terminal, Primal accesses it and discovers what Tarantulas found and Megatron desires&mdash;the Nemesis, the flagship of the Decepticon fleet and the vessel which shot down the Ark. Realizing the threat the Decepticon warship holds, Depth Charge heads out to locate it. Meanwhile, Megatron and Dinobot find that Tarantulas modified the vessel with a transwarp cell, installed a Predacon control console, and left behind a Covenant of Primus to boot. Megatron and Dinobot begin powering up the vessel for an attack. Reaching the sunken behemoth, Depth Charge engages Rampage. The two enemies fight, and Depth Charge grabs an energon crystal. He drives it into Rampage's spark, and the explosion destroys both Transformers and also causes Dinobot 2 to cry out in pain. Optimus, though mourning Depth Charge's loss, is relieved to know the threat of the Nemesis has been dealt with.

That is, until the Nemesis rises from the ocean, fully powered and targeting them. To be continued...
Notes
Technical/Animation glitches
* When Dinobot squeezes the piece of Rampage's spark he possesses to pacify his "half-brother", his shoulder pads are missing.
* At the very beginning when Optimus is reciting, in the background you can see Cheetor, in his normal Transmetal body, walking with Blackarachnia.

Continuity errors
* The flashbacks to the battle between the Ark and the Nemesis recounted by Optimus Primal and Megatron neglect to mention that the Decepticons boarded the Ark before the crash. This was probably done either to simplify the retelling, increase the significance of the Nemesiss involvement, or both.
* Some fans state the inclusion of a space battle and the lack of a tractor beam is an error, but these elements (or lack of them) were only present in the animated series's version of the crash. Additional versions, such as the crash depicted in the Marvel Comics, did indeed have a space battle and didn't involve a tractor beam. (In fact, the Nemesis did not crash, but instead it was parked beneath the ocean by Shockwave.) It should be mentioned that Beast Wars is not a direct continuation of any specific continuity by design, seeking to treat all previous Generation 1 stories as if they were Arthurian legend, so most claims of continuity error in the flashback would be fruitless.

Summary
With Ravage and his Transwarp Cruiser backing them up, the Predacons unleash a full assault on the Maximal base. It doesn't take long for Ravage and Rampage to bring down the base's shield. Ravage has Tarantulas transfer all the cruiser's power into one enormous missile. Before it can fire, Rattrap bursts into the ship's weapons hold and tosses a pair of magnetic bombs that adhere to Tarantulas's hands. The bombs obliterate Tarantulas, the ship's interior, and Ravagem-who faces the onrushing fireball with a stoic cry of "Decepticons forever!" The cruiser falls out of the sky, coming to rest mere feet from Rampagem-who is then blasted by the still-armed missile.

With the cruiser destroyed and his minions out of commission, Megatron flees. Optimus notes that he's not headed back to base, realizes where he's probably going, and orders the Maximals to pursue.

Meanwhile, Blackarachnia and Silverbolt make their way into the caves of the volcano, uncovering the object of Blackarachnia's questm-the Ark. Blackarachnia explains to Silverbolt that the ship contains the Autobots' "finest heroes", but was attacked by Decepticons, with members of both factions stored inside, who will awaken in the distant future to re-start the Great War. Blackarachnia is concerned only with the power it possessesm-but Megatron arrives just then, blasting Silverbolt offline and sealing the entrance to the caves behind him.

The Maximals arrive hot on his heels, find the sealed entrance, and start digging their way in. Inside, Megatron threatens to vaporize Silverbolt, convincing Blackarachnia to use the access codes to gain access to the Ark (though she vehemently maintains it's only so they'll have some cover in the face of the imminent Maximal attack). The Maximals burst through in time to see the two Predacons sealing the Ark behind them.

Blackarachnia activates the ship's defenses to hold off the Maximals, while Megatron goes to "effect a more permanent solution." Entering the main bridge of the ship, he hovers among the fallen Autobots and Decepticons, eulogizing the Decepticons and cursing the Autobots, until he comes face to face with his intended targetm-Optimus Prime, the original leader of the Autobots, who kept the Decepticons from victory (and therefore left their Predacon descendants in a subservient position to the dominant Maximals). Megatron charges his main weapon and prepares to fire.

In the caves, the Maximals are pelted by fire from the ship's cannon, till Rattrap manages to force a backblast that deactivates the cannon and shields. Rhinox struggles to open the mighty doors of the Ark. But the Maximals are too latem-Megatron unleashes a full-power blast at Optimus Prime's head, destroying it.

A time storm immediately wells up, spreading outward from the Ark and into space. The Maximals find themselves phasing in and out of past bodiesm-as well as out of existencem-as Megatron emerges from the Ark, triumphant.

"Now I enter these hallowed halls... a conquerer... yesss. Autobots and Decepticons, still frozen in emergency stasis, awaiting the moment, four million years hence, when they will awaken to start the Great War. Hmmm, a Great War, when the Autobots defeated the Decepticons, and thus their descendants the Maximals that rule we Predacons... archaic energon guzzlers! How dare they? Unwilling, though I was to follow my namesake's instructions, it has all come down to this: the ultimate risk, for the ultimate prize. A day of reckoning, with those who made us slaves!"

"So, we are now face to face, Optimus Prime. In one future you awaken and become the great leader of the Autobots. And now, Optimus Prime, in memory of the Decepticons... for the glory of the Predacons... for the Cybertron that is rightfully ours, and mine to rule! ... ==Notes==
Technical/Animation glitches
*Glitch

Continuity errors
* This episode called into sudden question the location of the Maximal and Predacon bases. The events of "Code of Hero" seem to firmly place the series somewhere in Africa, where early humanity evolved; the templates for the Maximals' beast modes (gorillas, cheetahs, rhinos) would seem to back this up. However, the Ark is traditionally seen to have crashed in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. If this is the case, the Maximals pursued Megatron across the Atlantic Ocean and over an entire continent!
:Beast Wars, however, does not use a strict interpretation of any Generation 1 storyline; it could be that in this version of the Generation 1 history, the Ark also landed somewhere in Africa. The question is never directly addressed in the show.

* At this point in time however, the continents were not at their modern locations and thus would have made the trip much shorter than in today's time.

* Either way, it doesn't make much sense that the Maximals make no attempt to shoot down Megatron while he's still on the run, rather than waiting till he reaches his destination.

Transformers references
*In reference to the strength of the Ark, Rattrap claims, "That ship wasn't built, it was poured!". Primal replies "Die-cast construction. It's a lost art." This is a reference to the original Transformer toys, which featured some die-cast parts.

*The final act features a bonanza of cameo appearances by the original Generation 1 Transformers, including Prowl, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ironhide, Thundercracker, Soundwave, and Starscream.

Real-world references
*Rattrap refers to his vehicle mode as Knievel mode, a reference to Evel Knievel.
A Maximal science vessel and a fugitive Predacon starship crash land on a mysterious, primitive world.

Summary
In an unknown star system, a transwarp portal opened, releasing two combatants: a stolen Predacon starship and its pursuer, the Maximal science vessel Axalon. Already carrying the scars of battle, both ships immediately opened fire upon each other. On the Axalon, a youthful crewmember reported on their damaged condition, in response to which another crew member bitterly complained about their non-combat exploration vessel not being cut out for this mission. Their commander, Optimus Primal, stated that they were the only ship in range capable of intercepting the fugitives. On the Predacon starship, the first officer urged his leader, Megatron, to finish off the Maximals while their shields were down. Megatron arrogantly rebuffed this suggestion, preferring to toy with his opponents by luring them into the orbit of the nearby planet. As the Axalon passed the Predacon starship's starboard side, Megatron fired the side guns, hitting the Maximals with a broadside which crippled their engines and caused significant damage to their stasis hold. Optimus Primal ordered their cargo of stasis pods be released into safe orbit before firing the forward plasma cannons, strafing the Predacons' hull and taking them down with the Axalon. With no engines, both ships were caught in the planet's gravitational pull and plummeted to its surface.

After crashing on a cliff above a lake, Optimus Primal asked for a damage report, and the youngest crewmember replied that he didn't want to know. Meanwhile, the Predacon warship had landed smack in the middle of the ash-hardened opening of an active shield volcano, faring considerably worse. Megatron ordered the navigation computer to tell him if this was the planet he had sought. The computer replied that it was unknown, as while the course settings were accurate, the readings were not consistent with what was to be expected of the location. Dismissing this for the time being, Megatron demanded to know if the mysterious planet had energon, which the computer confirmed, to his elation. However, it warned that there was so much energon that prolonged exposure would permanently damage their robot modes. Declaring that they will take the forms of the most powerful creatures on the planet, Megatron ordered his science officer to scan for local lifeforms which they could adapt as alternate modes to survive on this world. The Predacon ship launched a drone, scanning the fossils of a tyrannosaurus rex, velociraptor and pteranodon, as well as a living spider and wasp. Back at the cliff, the Maximals had the same idea, scanning a gorilla, rat, rhino and cheetah. The youngest crew member, adopting the form of the cheetah, declared himself to be Cheetor and was very pleased with himself. An older, cynical member of the crew, having taken the form of the rat, dissed his young comrade for a supposed lack of taste and introduced himself Rattrap. The oldest and strongest of the crew told the pair to cut out their bickering and to call him Rhinox. Optimus Primal exited the CR Chamber and ordered the crew to moderate their conflict circuits, reminding them that their new beast forms were to protect them from the long-term effects of the abundant energon fields: While they need energon for power, their robot modes would short out after a few minutes of exposure. Upon further comment from Optimus that this world was one unusual planet, wherever it was, Rhinox pointed out that the transwarp drive allowed them to journey through space and time, so they could be in any place, any time. Optimus then expressed concern about the stasis pods in orbit, as it meant the Maximals were outnumbered.

Back at the other crash site, the Predacons were testing out their new beast modes, bar one. First officer Dinobot, studying the Golden Disk he and his cohorts had stolen, was furious, declaring that it was "all wrong" and that this world was not Earth. He turned to Megatron and spat that the latter was a failure, not only in throwing away victory against the Maximals while it was in his grasp, but failing to guide them to the right planet. Dinobot threw the Golden Disk back into the ship in disgust, snarling that they had stolen it for nothing and that Megatron was an idiot. In control of his own anger, Megatron calmly challenged Dinobot to repeat his insult. His second-in-command belligerently replied that Megatron had heard well enough, adding that he was an incompetent leader, and challenged him for leadership of the Predacons. Megatron was merely amused when Dinobot transformed and brandished his weapons, noting how impulsive, brave, but ultimately misguided his would-be usurper was. An incensed Dinobot asked if Megatron accepted his challenge, but the leader laughed off, musing that there was more to being a leader than mere courage--for instance, a leader needed to be clever and cunning too. The loyal Scorponok then appeared, blasting the treacherous Dinobot with a missile and sending him flying off into the distance. After watching his former first officer fly away, Megatron informed the other Predacons that didn't matter which planet they were on, as they had come looking for energon to fuel their war with the Maximals, and this planet was rich with it. Only the Maximals could pose a threat now--assuming they'd survived their own crash--so Megatron dispatched his crew to seek out and destroy their enemies.

Meanwhile, the Maximals were surveying the land around them and cleaning up the wreckage on the Axalon. Rattrap complained about all the fuss over the Golden Disk, but Optimus Primal reminded him that the Disk was Cybertron's most closely guarded relic, a guide to a major source of energon, which was why Megatron had stolen it. Rattrap didn't care, retorting they were supposed to be performing deep-space exploration and that it wasn't his job to chase after criminals. He sarcastically speculated on Primal's readiness to handle a command position. Optimus further reminded him the Great War, noting that if Predacons were able to secure a massive source of energon, they wouldn't hesitate to start a new one. On a lighter note, he told Rattrap that since the smaller Maximal wanted exploration, here they were on an unknown planet, so he could hardly ask for more. Rattrap snapped that a working space ship would be nice, too, prompting Primal to remark that there was no pleasing some people. Cheetor detected two cheetahs running on the plains near the ship, and their speed prompted Primal's approval of the form Cheetor had chosen. Deciding to show off (and goof off) Cheetor gave chase to the animals. Optimus tried to call him back, but the energon radiation severely limited the range of their communications equipment. Rattrap vented more sarcasm, asking Primal if it was the untested Maximal commander's first day on the job. Primal simply snapped for him to shut up.

Some distance away, Cheetor caught up to the two cheetahs and attempted to engage them in conversation. Not surprisingly, this just scared them. Cheetor couldn't understand why they were so frightened, then saw the two animals acting aggressively toward a rather large wasp. Realizing it was a Robot in Disguise, Cheetor transformed and fired upon the wasp unprovoked. The wasp, revealing itself to be the Predacon Waspinator, transformed and retaliated in self-defense. Back at the Axalon, the other Maximals moved out to give Cheetor backup, with Rhinox ramming his way through a pile of boulders to speed their progress. Waspinator managed to get the better of Cheetor when the Maximal's rifle jammed, but fortunately, the other Maximals had arrived by then. Unfortunately, Megatron and the Predacons had arrived as well.

Optimus Primal tried to convince Megatron to not engage in hostilities, as the Maximals and Predacons had been at peace for centuries. Megatron spat back that while the Maximals may have been at peace, the Predacons, like all enemies who appear "peaceful", were merely biding their time. The Predacons had never forgotten their goal of galactic conquest, but were merely waiting for the right time to strike. At that moment, Cheetor's gun unjammed, and he fired point-blank into Megatron's face. Though greatly impressed by Cheetor's treacherous sneak attack, Megatron noted (rather over-dramatically that now the "power gauntlet [had] been cast"...whatever that meant. He ordered the Predacons to Terrorize (transform) while the Maximals Maximized (ditto), and both sides opened fire upon each other. As the Maximals sought cover, Cheetor was blasted by one of Scorponok's missiles and ended up with his leg trapped under a boulder. Optimus Primal ordered Rattrap to assist Cheetor while he provided cover fire, but Rattrap flatly refused to risk his life for anybody else, to Optimus' anger. The Maximal leader flew to Cheetor's position himself but was hit by Predacon fire, much to Rattrap's smug delight. Nonetheless, Optimus managed to free Cheetor while Rhinox "persuaded" Rattrap to help provide the pair with cover fire. With the Predacons now seeking cover of their own, the Maximals made their escape. Megatron ordered pursuit, but he and his Predacons began succumbing to the effects of the energon buildup and were forced to revert to beast mode.

On the way back to base, Optimus Primal informed Rattrap exactly who was in command of the crew and chewed him out for disobeying a direct order. Rattrap sneered at how Primal would order him out into danger because Primal was afraid of doing it himself. Optimus angrily replied that he would never give an order that he wouldn't be willing to carry out himself, then wearily elaborated that he was able to give Rattrap better cover fire than the smaller Maximal could have given him. Rattrap sheepishly realized Primal was right, but noted that at least they'd gotten out of the fight alive. Optimus countered that they'd sustained injuries that would require time to repair. Bringing up the rear, Cheetor voiced belief that they had escaped the Predacons, but Primal cautioned the young Maximal to keep his sensors on full, as the Golden Disk theft reports indicated there were six Predacons, but they had only encountered five in the previous battle. Rattrap theorized that perhaps the sixth was destroyed in the crash, but Rhinox glumly noted that sort of luck hadn't been coming their way lately. As if to punctuate his point, Dinobot barred their way across a stone bridge to the Axalon. Dinobot demanded their attention, stating who he was and that he had left the Predacons to join the Maximals--but as leader. He challenged Optimus Primal to a one-on-one battle, with the winner to lead the Maximals, the loser to be destroyed!
Other Notes
*Before they gain their beast modes, the Maximals and Predacons are shown mostly in shadow. This is probably to save the animators the trouble of coming up with entirely different models for each character. However, if one pays close attention, there are some marked differences to the facial areas shown, and Rattraps' arms are slightly different.

*As this was the first episode, the transformation/catchphrase sequences are rather overbearing by comparison to later episodes of the series.

*The Japanese version of the episode, titled "Enter the Super Robot Lifeform Transformers", has a slightly alternate opening. The episode begins with scrolling letters across an outer space backdrop, "Star Wars"-style, which explain the basics of the Transformers history (Cybertron, factions, energy plundering, etc).

*An interesting thing to note is, if no one knew where they were or what time, or even the creatures that they had scanned, how was everyone able to think up such fitting new names?

Animation and/or technical glitches
* When Waspinator fights Cheetor, the stripes on his thighs are mapped in the wrong axis.

* As the Optimus, Rhinox and Rattrap ride out to give Cheetor support, Rhinox breaks through a 'roadblock' of boulders. However, in the previous shot of this location, the boulders were not present.

* When Rhinox picks up Rattrap and swings him around to face the Predacons, Rattrap's gun clips right through the boulder in front of them.

Continuity Errors
* The Predacon ship isn't shown scanning a scorpion for Scorponok's beast mode... for some reason.
* Rhinox's trademark 'Chaingun of Doom' does not appear in this episode or in the following episode. During the battle with the Predacons, he uses Cheetor's discarded gun.
* Cheetor spends the longest time in the open while in robot mode, but does not suffer the effects of energon overload that the Predacons do.

Transformers References
* Optimus Primal mentions the Great War, which is was what the Transformers of the Beast era called the conflict between the Autobots and Decepticons.

Real-World References
*

Miscellaneous trivia
* Cheetor has the dual-honour of being the first character to appear in Beast Wars, as well as the first character to fire a shot (unprovoked) at the enemy. Cheetor also had the honour of speaking the final words of the Beast Era in the final episode of Beast Wars' sequel Beast Machines.
* During the scene where the Maximals reveal their new beast modes, it is not clear why they (bar Optimus Primal) had to rename themselves.
* Dinobot has the distinction of the first Beast Wars character to transform into robot mode.
* Waspinator fires pink eye lasers (similar to Dinobot's) during his battle with Cheetor.
* Rattrap is a serious asshole this early in the series.

* An interesting thing to note is, if no one knew where they were or what time, or even the creatures that they had scanned, how was everyone able to think up such fitting new names?

Summary
Last time:<br>
Megatron and Waspinator used the Transmetal Driver and Rampage's spark and some lightning to create Dinobot II. Cheetor and Depth Charge showed up and there was a big explosion that logically would have killed Cheetor. Depth Charge brought the Transmetal driver back to the Maximal base and tossed it away (but he is unaware Blackarachnia stole it). Dinobot II captured Depth Charge, but Depth Charge was saved by a mysterious cat-monster thing. Later, Cheetor shows up alive at the Maximal base. Rattrap and Silverbolt actually don't appear at all.

Primal checks on Cheetor, who is napping after he collapsed in front of the Maximals' current base, heavily damaged from the fight with the Predacons. After making sure Cheetor's okay, Primal has a discussion with Rattrap, mentioning that Cheetor has refused to use the CR Chamber.

Cheetor doesn't sleep soundly, though. From the cat's chest, a strange appendage grows, and Cheetor dreams of himself revealed to the other Maximals (except Optimus) torturing him into an ugly, mutated monstrosity. Cheetor awakens, glad his dream was unreal, but finds himself caught in a green light expanding out of his spark.

Rattrap, awakened by the noise, heads to the lower level to see what's wrong. Before reaching Cheetor's room, a large cat monster bursts out of Cheetor's room and knocks Rattrap over, before rushing away. Optimus comes to help Rattrap, who (incorrectly) assumes that the big ugly monster has gotten Cheetor.

In the Predacon base, Megatron hears the roar of the roaming beast and checks the radar. He figures out that Cheetor has been upgraded, explaining who his nemesis from the most recent battle was. Waspinator is sent to capture Cheetor.

Silverbolt returns to the Maximals' base, having failed to locate Cheetor (and jealous of Blackarachnia's concern for the feline). Primal puts together what we already know, and forces an account of the previous episode out of Depth Charge.

Awakening in a cave, Cheetor finds back in his Transmetal (one) form again with only vague memories. Later, Dinobot II and Waspinator find the cave, and after shredding Waspinator into shred, Dinobot proceeds to hunt the mutant. But inside the cave, he finds Cheetor has already left.

Again, Cheetor shows up outside the Maximal base. He tries to explain that he's taken care of "the monster" (that the other Maximals yet are totally sure is actually Cheetor.) Optimus, being less gullible than Cheetor is clever and says go to find the creature's remains. Away from the other Maximals, Primal and Cheetor talk, but before Cheetor can admit the truth, Primal's chest is fried by Dinobot II.

The emotional stress of the concern for Cheetor tears the cat back into his Transmetal II form. He easily blasts away Waspinator away. The two Transmetal II's duel with each other, slashing each other in their Beast Modes. When Rattrap and Silverbolt arrive, Dinobot is smart enough to retreat.

Optimus reaches into the feral Cheetor, awakening his intelligent persona. Back at the Maximal base, Cheetor tries to keep his cool while he flirts with Blackarachnia. Cheetor misinterprets the affection from Blackarachnia as something personal, when really she's more interested in his technology - and how she can get some of it for herself.

Quotes
"I think it's time to shred some Pred"
:-Cheetor

Notes
*Cheetor's room:
** A photo of himself and Primal from the first season.
** A big trophy.
** A model of the solar system.
** What could possibly be a model of a Cybertronian city.
** A photo of Blackarachnia.
** A potted plant.
** A miniature model of the Axalon.
** A clock with a kind of holographic display to indicate the stages of Solar cycle

*Megatron's observation that Cheetor is moving at mach two is likely an exaggeration.

*Waspinator was able to find Cheetor, while Silverbolt didn't. So, Waspinator is a better tracker than Silverbolt?

*Cheetor having trouble controlling his beast mode is similar to the plot of Call of the Wild
