DO NOT DELETE THIS. It's the most awesome joke article we have! -Rotty 01:11, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
*If you don't want to delete it...why put a deletion tag on the article? -- SFH 01:15, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

:I think it should go, awesome as it is. --ItsWalky 01:28, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

:I didn't put the tag on it. Derik inexplicably did after creating it himself, look at the history. -Rotty 01:38, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

::I have to agree with Walky, it's a little too unencyclopedia for my taste.
::The first half is meh-okay, in that it talks about a real 'thing,' (the noticeable proliferation of the word 'blast' and possible reasons for it) but the fake Bashō irked me- quote format should be for real quotes. Plus it asserts that the ontological 'school of thought' actually exists, I'd be more chill about it if it simply suggested the zen-archery thing as an abstract counter-argument, but it says fans actually believe this.
::Plus blastification isn't a real fandom term, and we're pretty strict about that. The article would have to move to like, "Proliferation of the word blast" or just "blast".
::It's parody not sarcasm, and outright parody articles making stuff up don't belong on the wiki, which is why I marked it for deletion in the first place. Unless the fandom starts spontaneously using the term blastification between now and whenever there's a final decision, I have to affirm my vote for deletion.

::However, since that's still pending... does anyone know where I could find a comic-book panel of a Transformer (preferably Galvatron) shouting "Blast!"? The article could use a visual. -<span style="font-family: Monotype Corsiva; font-size: 15px;">Derik</span> 02:37, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
:::Er... but... you... wrote... it?--Rosicrucian 03:49, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

::::And thus marking it for deletion was very responsible of me, don't you think?
::::(Art is only pleasing because it is transitory.) -<span style="font-family: Monotype Corsiva; font-size: 15px;">Derik</span> 03:57, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

:::::This article is awesome. I have saved it for posterity and intend to publish it in many scientific journals. Or maybe just post it to some newsgroup. -Autobus Prime 17:49, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

...Was just watching Heavy Metal War on Youtube, and noticed that Wheeljack actually wields a weapon called the "Shockblast Cannon".
It may be redundant to mention that it blew up the first time he tried to fire it..--82.41.82.198 05:38, 21 April 2009 (EDT)
What could have been
* Outblast
* Bumbleblast
* Blaststreak

Be glad we never got any of those.--Nevermore 14:53, 6 June 2009 (EDT)

Um... you -do- know that some explosives have blast charges in them? Just sayin, that's not really blastification...

....And damn I want to see a toy named Bumbleblast.

Starification
Is there a related phenomenon, Starification? Maybe it would take more than one example. - Starfield 11:16, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
:The only Transformers I can think of named "Star" are Starscream, Star Saber, and Streetstar, and only the last is trademark-related. --NCZ 11:42, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
::Star Convoy, I suppose.--Jimsorenson 12:56, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
:::I don't think "Star Convoy" was named such to avoid trademark issues, Jim. Furthermore, Streetwise didn't get "star" appended to his name randomly; it was the name of his Guard City redeco. This is not Blastification. --ItsWalky 13:08, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
::::Sorry if I was unclear. I wasn't really suggesting that it was part of a larger trend, just thinking of "Star" names.--Jimsorenson 14:34, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
::::Streetstar sounds pretty random in English. Maybe it sounds better to the Japanese. - Starfield 14:41, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
:::::But if it's only happened once, then it's not a widespread phenomenon. And it's not that random. --NCZ 14:52, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
::::::We know it's not random because we know exactly why the name was chosen. --ItsWalky 15:41, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
::::::As a side note, I really hope this doesn't mean that whenever a name gets given a different suffix or prefix, Starfield is going to suggest an Xification page. For God's sake, it's just one damn name. --ItsWalky 15:42, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
: Actually, I wonder if one could make a case for "Masterfication" (stop giggling), as it seems like a hell of a lot of characters with names ending in "master" came out during the latter half of G1 (in addition to the use of that as a suffix for gimmicks). Or maybe I just want to make fun of how Blast Master has basically the universal Transformer name. --Logged-out Andrusi
