Query: Is Emirate his title, and Xaaron his name? Would this mean he should be category listed as Xaaron, Emirate? --KilMichaelMcC 20:57, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

:Emirate is a rank. IIRc the blue guy from WWI that lost his head was called Emirate Xenon- (but I'm not sure where I'm getting that from, I see no list of his name online anywhere. Possibly the Geosensus story.) -Derik 22:15, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

::Emirate Xeon, and I believe he's referred to by name in the TWW preview book. (Was that a FCBD thing or something?) -LV 01:41, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Move article to "Xaaron"?
Since he is just "Xaaron" in IDW, should we lose the the title "Emirate" from the article name and just go with "Xaaron"? - Starfield 10:58, 21 September 2010 (EDT)
:I'd say yes, also because it's a title and not part of his name. —Interrobang 11:01, 21 September 2010 (EDT)
::So is prime in Optimus Prime but we keep it Optimus Prime because of common sense. And we keep it in the original title. We dont change Jazz to Autobot Jazz because his name was changed for some of the toys. Same with Rodimus Prime being Rodimus Minor. --92.238.181.196 12:00, 21 September 2010 (EDT)
:::"Optimus Prime" is pretty literally his name, just one that sometimes also indicates rank. And what exactly do toy names have to do with anything? —Interrobang 12:47, 21 September 2010 (EDT)
::::Add another yes vote. As to the point about Primes and such, those were revealed as titles long after the fact. Emirate was known to be a title from the beginning. --Khajidha 12:48, 21 September 2010 (EDT)
Design / toy
"In Emirate Xaaron's very first fictional appearance, his head design was clearly based on the Generation 1 Megatron toy, minus the larger grey helmet and the gun kibble. His chest looks a little Megatrony as well."

I'm fairly certain that this is incorrect as I owned a Xaaron toy in the mid-eighties, it's plausible it's still around somewhere and if I get the chance I'll look for it.

The toy in question was a pre-mold of "http://tfu.info/1988/Destron/Browning/browning.htm". When purchased it was not part of the transformers franchise and while I'm not sure I do think it was my very first toy of this kind. I'm guessing it was bought sometime during 1985 or 1986, certainly before 1988 when it was apparently incorporated into the Japanese line. I usually bought toys during summer vacation because they were cheaper in France than in Sweden so it was probably bought there, but I can't be sure.

The differences between the Browning toy and the one I had (might still have) are as follows: obviously it had no Destron sticker, the blue plastic in the arms was yellow, the blue plastic on the legs was red, the silver plastic making up the barrel, arms and shoulders was a much duller gray but still somewhat metallic looking, I don't remember the blue plastic thing in front of hist stomach at all, it might have been black, yellow or non-existant, the text on the side of the handle was probably missing too, the midriff was yellow and had a much smaller red sticker making the torso a perfect match for how he's drawn, the head was square but otherwise an exact match for the Xaaron character, stripes in mouth, grills on the sides of his cheeks, crown and all. The kibble and black parts seem identical.

If I find this tow I'll post a picture.

If I do not I can assure you that it's resemblance to Xaaron is much, much greater than his resemblance to Megatron and I'm fairly certain that the person who originally designed the character MUST have based it on this toy.
: Yeah, you aren't going to get back to us on this. 75.61.110.41 15:49, 13 August 2011 (EDT)
