Synopsis
Megatron has raised the Nemesis from its watery grave and has begun a random attack on everything in sight, all the while quoting the Covenant of Primus. After telling Rhinox to "deploy Operation Eternity", Optimus Primal and Tigerhawk attempt to fight it off, but their weapons don't even scratch the hull. Tigerhawk tells Primal to rally the Maximals and that he will remain to fight. On the Nemesis, Dinobot is commenting that his spark has changed and feels complete. Aspects of the original Dinobot begin to emerge. He admires Tigerhawk's defense. Tigerhawk is able to damage power on several decks, limiting Megatron's offensive options to using the fusion cannon, which he uses to destroy Tigerhawk. Going to the Protohuman settlement, Megatron prepares to destroy it. Dinobot objects, asking where the honor is in such an act, but Megatron fires anyway, killing Inferno and Quickstrike in the process.

At Mount St. Hilary, the Maximals are preparing a last-ditch strategy—bring the Ark online and fight the Nemesis. However, the ship has been offline too long, and Rhinox and Blackarachnia are having trouble restoring power. The Nemesis arrives, but Tigerhawk's attack has depleted its energon reserves, and the fusion cannon requires time to recharge. Megatron activates its tractor beam, and Primal enters the Nemesis. He and Megatron duke it out, but the Predacon clearly has the advantage. On the Ark, the Maximals manage to get the engines on line, but they burn out almost instantly. Rattrap proclaims that they are all going to die, and for once, no one tells him to shut up.

However, Dinobot, disapproving of Megatron's actions, sends a message to the Maximals of an Autobot shuttle stored in the Ark. Megatron orders Dinobot to fire, but he refuses, stating that he has his honor. In a last bid to save them all, Rhinox pilots the shuttle on a collision course with the Nemesis bridge, crashing through the viewport and going out the other side. Optimus urges Dinobot to save himself, but he remains with the ship, biding farewell to Primal. As the Nemesis crashes, Primal rejoins the Maximals.

Some time later, the Maximals, having repaired the shuttle and rigged a transwarp cell to it, leave Earth for Cybertron. Optimus, piloting the ship, declares that the Beast Wars are over, and memorializes the Maximals who fell during the war. Rattrap, however, is more happy to be going home and points out that they won't have to see Megatron 'til they get there, as the Predacon is tied to the hull of their shuttle. As the shuttle enters transwarp, the scene shifts to the Protohumans, who have built a village and are using parts of Inferno and Quickstrike in a ritual to celebrate their new leader...Waspinator.

In the ultimate act of karma, Waspinator declares that he is "happy at last."
"'I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come! And you will know my name is Megatron when I lay my vengeance upon you!'"<br />
"You have already read the Covenant of Primus?"<br />
"Just the good parts."

"Quickly, go to your fellow Maximals. Prepare them! If Megatron destroys the Ark and its occupants, history as we know it will unravel."<br />
"You can't stop that thing alone."<br />
"Perhaps, but it is my destiny to try. I will hold the line here. Go!"

"Ah, NOOOO!" [smashes the blast doors] "This ends here, Megatron. No more good friends will be sacrificed to your insane ambition. I swear it! NO MORE!"<br />

"Hmm, I suppose, given my imminent godhood, these primitives should really be beneath my intention. Ah, still, no score is too small to settle, I always say."<br />
Notes
*Kid Rhino's Season 3 box set contains an animatic with additional footage cut out from the final episode (presumably to save time). One of the edits shows Optimus Primal tearing out a transwarp cell from the Nemesiss control deck prior to telling Dinobot II to save himself. The transwarp cell is later seen towards the end of the (finished) episode, installed to the controls of the Autobot shuttle, explaining how the Maximals were able to travel through both space and time and return home.
*In an interview, Furman stated he was approached at BotCon 1998 to write a "G1-centric" episode, and worked closely with Bob Forward on what would become "Nemesis" (they originally weren't sure who'd write which part). Various ideas were pitched, but for reasons of budget and a lack of a fourth season meant everything needed to be wrapped up here; one key decision was to ensure the core cast "got a good send off, one that didn't leave them in limbo". Bob would do most of the Dinobot 2 writing.
*In the early plot of the episode, the Maximals successfully launched the Ark instead of an Autobot shuttle. Also, Dirge, Ramjet and Thrust would be reactivated and ram into the Nemesis instead of the Autobot shuttle. This would have possibly explained where the three Coneheads came from when they suddenly appeared in season two of the original cartoon. This is one of the more popular reasons as to why writer Simon Furman included Dirge as a Herald of Unicron in Worlds Collide.
*It should be noted that had Megatron heeded Dinobot and not turned the fusion cannon on the proto-human colony, he would have most likely won the Beast Wars, by the simple fact that it would have been fully charged by the time the Nemesis reached the Ark (As pointed out by Dinobot, the fusion cannon's reactor was depleted to 65% power when they had arrived) without the Maximals having a chance to prepare in time. In retrospect, this could be why he makes such a big deal about displaying honor later on...
*This appears to be the first time that an Optimus loses a tooth in battle, but it would not be the last

Technical/animation glitches
*As Tigerhawk is about to be overwhelmed by the fusion cannon, it cuts to a reaction shot by Dinobot, whose "monocle" is on the wrong eye.
*When Optimus returns to the Maximal base and tries to communicate with Tigerhawk, his right wing is missing.
*At one point, Optimus tears his wing off and tosses it to jam the giant grinder mechanisms on the bottom of the Nemesis. However, in the next scene in which he appears, his wing has been replaced with no explanation.
*As the Maximals await their doom inside the Ark and Rattrap comments on how they're "all gonna die", he's missing his robot-mode "backpack".
*Megatron apparently transforms to dragon mode off-screen, transforms back to robot mode on-screen before the scene cuts away, then when next we see him, he is in dragon mode again!
*For most of the episode, Optimus is missing the "blast shields" that he usually wears on either his forearms or shoulders.
* In the final battle scene, Dinobot is flipped horizontally. (See first glitch.)

Continuity errors
*Although it was cut from the final episode for time, the script called for Generation 1 Megatron's spark to be removed from BW Megatron and placed back in its proper body before the Maximals leave Earth. This very brief scene was animated and can be seen on Beast Wars Season 3 box sets produced by Kid Rhino and Madman Entertainment. It should be noted, however, that despite the cut, Optimus's lines from that segment were still included in the episode, albeit used in a different context.
*In "Other Victories", Megatron is perplexed by the idea of Tarantulas trying to destroy the Ark and Tigerhawk states that doing so would erase those descended from Autobots and Decepticons. So why is Megatron doing it now? Considering his religious babbling, it comes off like he's gone mad and thinks it'll erase everyone but him...
*It seems unlikely that the Maximals would leave a Predacon on Earth, even one as incompetent as Waspinator. It's possible they just didn't know he was still alive, though in the Beast Machines episode "The Catalyst", Blackarachnia remarks that she was aware that they'd left him stranded on prehistoric Earth.

Transformers references
*There is the Nemesis itself.
*"In the darkest hour, there will be a light," a line from the Covenant of Primus most likely derived from "Light our darkest hour" in The Transformers: The Movie.
*Speaking of that movie, Primal's declaration of "This has to stop! At any cost" mirrors Optimus Prime's declaration of "Megatron must be stopped! No matter the cost".

Real-world references
*The lines Megatron reads from the Covenant of Primus bear some similarities to lines from English translations of the Bible of Earth's humans.
*One of Megatron's Convenant of Primus quotes bears stronger resemblance to the paraphrase of Ezekiel 25:17 in the film Pulp Fiction than it does to the original Bible quote.
Synopsis
The Maximals, secure for the first time since they moved into Mount St. Hilary, begin searching for the Predacons, who have been vulnerable since Tigerhawk destroyed the Predacon base. Optimus Primal quotes a verse from the Covenant of Primus, believing Tigerhawk's arrival to be divine prophecy.

Meanwhile, the Predacons are growing disaffected with Megatron. (Even Waspinator is mouthing off.) Inferno, ever loyal to his "queen", declares that a new "colony" will resecure them. Megatron orders him to take Waspinator and Quickstrike, while he, Rampage, and Dinobot search the remains of Tarantulas's lair. Dinobot finds a hatch which leads to an underwater tunnel and a computer. Accessing the computer, Megatron becomes quite excited by what he discovers, and takes the rail car with Dinobot II, while Rampage follows in tank mode.

Silverbolt and Depth Charge spot Inferno, Waspinator, and Quickstrike leaving. Optimus orders them to fall back, but Depth Charge heads in. Optimus leaves with Blackarachnia, Cheetor, and Tigerhawk to support them. As Primal arrives, Depth Charge finds the hatch&mdash;and a bomb. The explosion fails to kill any of the Maximals, but Silverbolt is damaged, and Blackarachnia and Cheetor escort his parts back to base.

At the protohumans' cave dwellings, Inferno declares that the caves will be their new "colony". He orders Quickstrike and Waspinator to engage, but Waspinator angrily refuses. Something has finally snapped in Waspy's central processor, and he declares that he is out of the Beast Wars. After a tirade against Megatron, the Predacons, life in general, and always being blown up, Waspinator tells them that they can kiss his stinger. Inferno and Quickstrike blast him, and proceed to attack the protohumans (who have become much tougher, having learned from the example of Dinobot and the Maximals).

In the tunnels, Primal, Tigerhawk, and Depth Charge continue searching. After locating a data terminal, Primal accesses it and discovers what Tarantulas found and Megatron desires—the Nemesis, the flagship of the Decepticon fleet and the vessel which Megatron used to shoot down the Ark. Realizing the threat the Decepticon warship holds, Depth Charge heads out to locate it. Optimus sends out an emergency warning to the Maximals, and he and Tigerhawk head out to the Nemesis location through the air.

Meanwhile, Megatron and Dinobot are able to board the ship, where they discover that Tarantulas had been a busy spider: not only did he repair the vessel, he added a transwarp cell and installed a Predacon control console. Best of all, in Megatron's optics, Tarantulas left behind a copy of the Covenant of Primus to boot: the tome from which he took his name! Megatron and Dinobot begin powering up the vessel for an attack.

Reaching the sunken behemoth, Depth Charge informs Optimus of his discovery, and Optimus in turn authorizes Depth Charge to neutralize the Nemesis by any means neccessary. Before Depth Charge can start, he is engaged by Rampage. The two enemies fight, and Depth Charge grabs an energon crystal. He drives it into Rampage's spark, and the explosion destroys both Transformers and also causes Dinobot to cry out in pain. Optimus, though mourning Depth Charge's loss, is relieved to know the threat of the Nemesis has been dealt with.

That is, until the Nemesis rises from the ocean, fully operational. To be continued...
:—Depth Charges final words before killing Rampage.

Notes
* The death of Rampage is the only time in the series that a Maximal kills a Predacon (not for lack of trying).
* "Nemesis" was originally going to be a three-part episode, but was later compressed to two. fact
* Bob Forward and Simon Furman both worked together on the "Nemesis" outline, to the extent that it wasn't decided for a while who would be writing which part. Originally they'd had bigger, grander plans, but many of them got dropped when it was clear a fourth season wouldn't be coming.
* Apparently Cheetor can fly in his Transmetal 2 form's Beast Mode, and Depth Charge can fly in his Robot Mode.
* At the beginning of the episode, when Rattrap holds up the Covenant of Primus, the Maximal variant of Cybertronix text can be seen. It reads "7 613 were cast out with him a cork one fork and a bowl of beans between them". This presumably follows the portion of the Covenant read by Primal, Datatrack 7.613: "And a mighty warrior came down from the sky, and a rainbow was upon his head, and his feet as pillars of fire. And the great dragon was cast out onto the earth, and his followers were cast out with him."
* The copy of the Covenent of Primus on the Nemesis has the Autobot symbol on the cover.
* This is clearly the only time Waspinator refers to himself as "I." This is also (regrettably) the last time Waspinator is slagged as a participant of the Beast Wars.
*Since Transmetal 2 Megatron has his beast-mode head as a robot-mode arm as his original T-Rex body did, Megatron's... odd relationship with his hand has returned. In this two-parter, he can not only be seen petting the dragon-head, but at one point, he turns from a monitor he's watching, and his head-hand turns toward it, and actually moves back and forth as it observes the on-screen events.
*This is the first time we hear that Megatron's name is not a reference to that other Megatron.

Animation or technical errors
* When Dinobot squeezes the piece of Rampage's spark he possesses to pacify his "half-brother", his shoulder pads are missing. Also, the spark seems to float freely when it is released, in contrast to previous episodes where it was held in place by Dinobot's spark chamber.
* At the very beginning when Optimus is reciting, Cheetor is visible in the background in his normal Transmetal body, walking with Blackarachnia.
*Megatron must have had a tight fit climbing down the hatch that Dinobot found.
*Una must be a very strong protohuman to smash a sizable lump into Waspinator's skull.

Continuity errors
*The Beast Wars retelling of the Ark's crash and the Nemesis differs from any previous version. In the original cartoon, the Decepticons used the Nemesiss tractor beam to lock onto the Ark, and it was the Autobot/Decepticon fight inside the Ark that caused it to crash. (As elaborated in "More than Meets the Eye, Part 1" and "Microbots".) In the Marvel comics, the Decepticons boarded the ship, and Optimus deliberately crashed the Ark onto Earth, in "The Transformers", with the Nemesis being left abandoned. (The UK comics had Galvatron destroy it in "Target: 2006".)<br><br>As Beast Wars is intentionally not a direct continuation of any specific continuity, instead seeking to treat all previous Generation 1 stories as if they were Arthurian legend, this would imply that those accounts are not canonical in this series. Alternatively, Optimus could just have the details wrong.
* The flashbacks to the battle between the Ark and the Nemesis recounted by Optimus Primal and Megatron neglect to mention that the Decepticons boarded the Ark before the crash. This was probably done either to simplify the retelling, increase the significance of the Nemesiss involvement, or both.
* The bomb Megatron left behind as a trap for the Maximals has some very curious properties. It has enough power to severely damage Silverbolt and creates a powerful energy wave that is felt by the approaching Cheetor and Tigerhawk, who are miles away (even disintegrating a butterfly in the process). However, despite all of the above, Optimus and Depth Charge suffer absolutely no ill effects from the bomb, despite being at extremely close range and having very little time (or even room, given the terrain) to run for cover. Depth Charge opened the hatch, but Silverbolt is the one who got damaged. Assuming that there was very little time to get away, Silverbolt could have jumped in front of Depth Charge to protect him (but why would he?), but it is still misleading going into the commercial break.
* How exactly did Megatron construct a bomb from scratch to begin with? With his base destroyed in the previous episode, it seems very unlikely that he would have the materials to create one on hand.

Transformers references
*Megatron refers to Tarantulas as Unicron's spawn. While from the context this appears to have been a generic insult (equivalent to "bastard" or "son of a bitch"), convention-exclusive fiction like Primeval Dawn have depicted Tarantulas as a literal creation of Unicron.
*This is the first source to give the Decepticon vessel that attacked the Ark a name.
*Optimus Primal tells Depth Charge to stop Megatron "at any cost", which echoes Optimus Prime ("no matter the cost") in the Transformers movie during the Decepticon siege of Autobot City on Earth.
*When Dinobot II cries out in pain after the death of Rampage, brief flashes of the original Dinobot's animation model can be seen as he looks upward. This possibly alludes to the plot of the unproduced episode "Dark Glass", where Rattrap uploads the original Dinobot's datatrax into the clone. For more information on that controversy, please refer to these articles.

Real-world references
*Inferno calls Rampage a drone at least once in this episode. It is unknown whether the writers knew that a drone is a male ant whose main purpose is to mate with the queen, who in this case would be Megatron.
*When contacting the Maximals, Optimus encodes transmission "M Sipher", a reference to Greg Sepelak.
*Silverbolt's remark "It's just a scratch" followed by the dismemberment of his arm could be a reference to the immortal line of the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Coincidentally, the Black Knight is able to survive fatal mutilation.
* Inferno utilizes the classic cartoon method of hiding, appearing from behind an impossibly skinny tree.
* When Megatron powers up the Nemesis, external ship lights illuminate Cybertronix text in the Predacon variant, which spells out "Red Dwarf", a reference to the British sci-fi comedy show.
Synopsis
With Megatron a prisoner and the Predacons scattered, the Maximals prepare to wrap things up. Optimus Primal summons Silverbolt to his office and comes down on him about Blackarachnia. Silverbolt points out that she was originally a Maximal protoform and that he himself was a Predacon once, but Primal counters that Blackarachnia is evil to the core, whereas Silverbolt just didn't know any better. He confines Silverbolt to quarters and dispatches Cheetor to deal with Blackarachnia, despite Silverbolt's request to be sent, if only to protect Cheetor.

In his cell, Megatron berates Ravage for siding with the Maximals, to which Ravage responds that Megatron is an inferior leader when compared to his namesake. Megatron also points out that Ravage's ship is depleted of energon. He offers a stash of cubes for his freedom, but Ravage reveals he already knows the stash's location, as Tarantulas is a Lieutenant in the Predacon Secret Police.

Cheetor prepares to go out for Blackarachnia, but first apologizes to Silverbolt, who also apologizes—for the punch he gives Cheetor right afterward. The pair are interrupted by Rattrap, who raises the alarm, forcing Silverbolt to flee the base. Heading out to retrieve the energon cubes, Cheetor complains to Optimus about the rough treatment Silverbolt gave him. They arrive at the cave Tarantulas had indicated, carefully venturing inside, only to find that the energon is in the form of unstable crystals and Inferno is waiting to ambush them.

Silverbolt locates Blackarachnia following Waspinator to a mountain. Silverbolt begs her to come in, but Blackarachnia claims to have no feelings for him at all. To prove her point, she shoots him. But as Silverbolt points out, it was non-fatal, saying she does care for him and won't simply kill him. While they are distracted, the hoverpod they're in rams into Waspinator, shattering both, but Silverbolt saves Blackarachnia. (Waspinator is out of luck, as usual.)

Back at the cave, Inferno is beginning to suffer from energon buildup. Cackling madly, he ignites the crystals in an attempt to destroy Optimus and Cheetor. The chain reaction destroys the mountain and seemingly incinerates Inferno, but the two Maximals manage to escape. Once they're safe, Optimus informs Ravage of what happened.

At his ship, Ravage confronts Megatron over his treachery. Megatron points out that Ravage intends to kill them all, Maximal and Predacon. Ravage admits to this and arms the vessel's internal autoguns. Desperate, Megatron reveals he had ulterior motives for stealing the Golden Disk, something which could affect the Great War. Ravage doubts him, pointing out the Disk's destruction, but allows Megatron to convince him. Released from his power bonds, the Predacon commander reveals that he still has a fragment of the Disk, and it holds proof that Ravage will believe—a message from Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons. Noting his potential defeat, Megatron left instructions for the descendants of the Decepticons to use transwarp technology to travel back in time to Ancient Earth. Although the message cuts out partway through, the Predacon's gambit succeeds: Ravage, moved by the sight of his former leader, releases Megatron.

At the mountain, Blackarachnia and Silverbolt discover that Megatron was already there, having dug a tunnel and then sealed it. Despite Blackarachnia's constant demands that Silverbolt leave, he refuses, and she reluctantly accepts his help in dispensing of one of the larger rocks.

As Optimus and Cheetor return to the Axalon, Optimus radios ahead for a status report and is warned by Rattrap that they no longer need to be subordinate to Ravage—he's switched sides! The warning is just a little too late, as the transwarp cruiser, with Megatron riding atop, shifts into view behind the pair. As Ravage transforms to interface with his ship, the Predacons launch an attack.
Notes
*Apparently Silverbolt is <s>stupid</s> chivalrous enough to not only not harm Blackarachnia, but to assist her actively in carrying out Megatron's nefarious schemes. Bad doggy. Bad, bad doggy.

Technical/animation glitches
* After Silverbolt Punches through the door and knocks Cheetor out, how does the door fully open into the hull without a hitch?

Continuity errors
*Tarantulas heads the recovery mission for Megatron's energon stash, yet it's been established that his new base is loaded with stable energon. Why don't he and Ravage simply use that to repower the stealth cruiser? Tarantulas said in "Tangled Web" that there was enough energon in his lair "to sustain a frugal Predacon for quite some time," which might not amount to enough to repower the cruiser.
* Along those same lines, it's odd how Ravage, one of Generation 1 Megatron's closest confidants and most loyal allies, didn't know of the secret message his leader put on the Golden Disk. Clearly, Megatron doesn't have the same trust in his allies as they do in him.

Transformers references
*When Megatron shows the recording from the remains of the Golden Disk, the face and voice of the original Megatron are shown.
*When Ravage transforms, the sound effect is the one used by all Transformers in the original series.
*Originally, when Ravage transformed and inserted his cassette mode into the control console, the Generation 1 cartoon theme song was going to play during his first cry of "Decepticons Forever!" and subsequent attack on the Axalon. However, due to copyright constraints, this plan was dropped, and a more generic song was put in its place.

Real-world references
*Silverbolt makes a howling noise to simulate a siren and asks Blackarachnia to "pull this vehicle over".
*When Waspinator is smashed to pieces by the stasis pod ship, a toilet is seen falling down among the wreckage.
*After the crash with Waspinator, when Blackarachnia is saved by Silverbolt, he either breaks the fourth-wall or is genre savvy when he tells her that he's "a heroic character."
*Silverbolt's words about "kiss me or kill me" may be a reference to Ash Williams.
*Ravage uses Dr. Evil's raised-pinkie gesture on Megatron.

Trivia
*Primal has a tiny trophy of a gorilla on his desk.

*Efforts were made to get Frank Welker to provide the voice for Megatron's message, but financial and scheduling conflicts precluded this from happening. Garry Chalk voiced him instead.

*This is the closest Silverbolt ever came to directly taking down Waspinator in the entire series. (Silverbolt was the backseat driver here.)
Synopsis
Tigatron observes a strange energy pulse in a distant mountain. Simultaneously, within the Predacon base, Megatron is woken by his computer. It reports the energy anomaly, and that it is of alien origin. Megatron suspects this could be the start of something big and thus sends Inferno to investigate. The fire ant burrows into the mountain and recovers a strange discus.

Primal is on a scouting run looking for the energy anomaly that Tigatron reported. He sees a strange probe, and follows it. The probe stops and forms into a hologram of Megatron. He proposes to meet about a truce on neutral ground, between both leaders.

When they meet, Megatron insists that the truce is not an act of treachery. He explains that he has no time to fight Maximals, and he needs time to think. Primal reluctantly agrees to a truce, bound by Maximal code. Rhinox proposes that it's about the alien energy. Primal agrees, stating that something scared Megatron very badly. Rattrap is sent—despite his usual complaints—to infiltrate the Darksyde.

Meanwhile, Tarantulas hacks his way into a holding chamber to steal one of the Predacon ship's remaining Transwarp cells. Waspinator surprises him and demands an answer, and Tarantulas easily defeats him. Megatron, watching the exchange, decides to let Tarantulas do his work, and throw another kink in it—Blackarachnia.

Airazor delivers Rattrap to the Predacon base—unarmed—and drops him off quickly before hailing the Predacon channels. Megatron casually disarms the perimeter defenses and asks Airazor to leave. As she leaves, he stops her a moment and suggests she take Rattrap with her. Foiled, they return to the base and report to Primal, but exchange knowing glances—the distraction was enough for Tigatron to make his entrance.

Blackarachnia surprises Tarantulas, and in the confusion, Megatron hacks the Transwarp cell and adds his own programming.

Tigatron hacks the Predacon database in a cool VR world, and discovers the second Golden Disk's datatracks. Terrorsaur finds Tigatron hacking and sounds the alarm, but Tigatron uses Terrorsaur and Scorponok's goonery against each other. Under orders not to fire, the Predacons chase Tigatron, leading into a battle with the rest of the Maximals.

Under the limitations of a truce, the Predacons and Maximals battle without using their weapons. Primal steals a wire from Inferno's rocket. Terrorsaur fails at dodging a piece of sheet metal that Cheetor and Rhinox move into position. The spiders are smart enough to avoid one trap set by Dinobot, but in doing so, are crushed by another. Without firing a single shot, the Maximals have won the day... unless, of course, Megatron intentionally let them get away.

On the Maximal base, Tigatron explains what Megatron discovered: a golden disk similar in size to the one Megatron originally stole, this one created by the same aliens who crafted the flying island, and seeded the energon on the planet. The disk itself was part of a signal that the aliens sent, ensuring that the planet received a message:

The aliens are on their way. And they are not very happy...

"There is a storm approaching. A storm of such magnitude, of such power... it is beyond imagination. And to think, I was once satisfied with mere energon. To think that my ambitions lofted no higher than the conquest of Cybertron. *laughs* *coughs* Well, no longer. For I have been given a glimpse of power. Real power. And that power shall be mine!"
:—Megatron starts to acquire a taste for godhood.

Notes
*Bob Forward has said this was originally planned to be part of a 4-part "Other Voices" but the plans were changed at the last minute—"Apparently anything more than a two-parter is too hard to schedule. Before The Storm had to be made into a stand-alone ep."

*Apparently, all you have to do to hack all of the Predacon ship's data, is play a virtual reality video game. The Predacons' computer virtual interface is similar to what's seen in early-to-mid 90s techno-films like Johnny Mnemonic.
*Blackarachnia can be seen trapping a red poison-dart frog in her webbing when Megatron communicates with her via computer.
*Before the Predacon computer wakes him up, Megatron's dinosaur head-arm is "awake" and looking around. Similarly, when observing Tarantulas's break-in, his dino hand is looking up at him, and he pets it affectionately, as if it was, well... a pet. Just before Airazor calls the Predacon base, he is brushing its teeth with a toothbrush. It's not clear what's going on here or how this works, particularly when he's in beast mode, but clearly, Megatron has a very special relationship with his right hand.
*Airazor's suggestion that Rattrap "shed a few kilos" certainly raises some questions about Maximal biology.

Technical/animation errors
* When Optimus arrives at the neutral territory to talk with Megatron, his shoulder pads are missing. Megatron's ones are also missing when he speaks to Airazor.
* While Megatron is in his closing words of the episode, he is missing his beast mode "kibble", except the head of course.
* Not so much an error as it is an animation oversight, but if you look closely as Blackarachnia runs after Tigatron (right before the scene cuts to Dinobot,) you can see her holding a gun, despite Megatron's emphasis on "No shooting" mere seconds ago. Blackarachnia probably remembers this in the next scene involving her, as her gun is nowhere to be seen then.

Transformers references
*When Megatron is talking to Inferno in his room, there is a Generation 1 Seeker head on his shelf, with an expression of pure horror. It's either a reference to Starscream's treachery in a previous episode, or Megatron has some weird taste in ornaments.
*There's also a replica of Generation 1 Megatron's fusion cannon on the shelf below the head.

Real-world references
*On the shelf in Megatron's room (aside from the Seeker head and a picture of himself), there is a Transformer sized trophy and bowling pin. He must have been good at that non-sport before he traded his hand for another head.
* When accessing the transwarp cell's programming, Megatron's code "A T T override" is a shout-out to the Usenet newsgroup alt.toys.transformers.
* Megatron mused that "There is a storm coming. A storm of such power, such magnitude, it is beyond imagination!" "Beyond Imagination" was at the time the website of James Hooks, a fan who'd had close contact with the series writers. His site took its name from a tagline for the original movie.
* The entire escape sequence contains a great deal of Loony Tunes-style sight gags. Scorponok's facial features contort wildly just before he collides with Terrorsaur; Blackarachnia and Tarantulas are squashed by an improbably fast rock; Terrorsaur flies into a sheet of metal, leaving a full-body impression; and Inferno comes to a dead halt in mid-air before realizing that his flight systems are disabled and that he's required to fall. A tiny poof of dust accompanies his impact on the ground far below.
