Proclaiming the desire for a new world order, Silas and his supporters systematically usurp Decepticon and Autobot agenda alike in the name of research and experimentation to further Project Chimera, the product of their horrific campaign.

Colonel Leland Bishop was once a member of Special Operations of the United States military. Nemesis Prime (episode) Part of "special tactics", he was the architect of Project Damocles, which ultimately caused his discharge from the armed forces. After leaving the military, he went rogue, adopting the codename Silas and becoming part of MECH. Grill

From his helicopter, Silas shot down William Fowler's plane transporting the Dynamic Nuclear Generation System. Soon, Fowler was transporting the device aboard a civilian trailer truck. Fowler evaded Silas's men, and when they attempted to open the trailer door, a motorcycle driver drove onto one of their cars, causing it to flip over and explode. The convoy passed through a train tunnel, and as it emerged, mysterious purple planes fired on the trailer. Since there was no radiation emanating from the explosion, Silas realized Fowler must've transferred the device onto the train. Then Silas witnessed the civilian convoy and planes transform into robots, and a fight ensued. Silas was pleased to confirm the rumors of living technology on Earth, but flew off to retrieve the DNGS.

A hacker caused the train to diverge onto a forked track, but Silas's pilot cut the connection. Silas prepared to land on the train as his men finished cutting open the appropriate car's roof, but retreated when he saw the truck robot on the move. He wasn't going to let the enemy leave with his prize, and so fired on the train tracks to cause a crash. The truck robot managed to stop the train, and from the safety of his helicopter, Silas watched his new enemy stare back. He privately congratulated the alien visitor, but noted MECH had the home advantage and vowed to level the playing field, even if it meant dissecting the robot. Silas then flew off. Convoy (episode)
Silas had his men capture Breakdown during a battle on the Kamchatka Peninsula, taking the captive 'Con to a makeshift base in a deserted railway tunnel so they could dismantle him in peace. He had one of Breakdown's eyes removed and converted into a two-way transmitter, leaving it somewhere obvious, so he could talk to Breakdown's rescuers, and was surprised when Optimus Prime came looking for the Decepticon. Though a bomb waylaid Prime's team, Bulkhead broke into the tunnel and Silas retired to his helicopter outside, where he directed the MECH forces in an attempt to stop Bulkhead and Breakdown from escaping. He was forced to order a retreat when Starscream arrived with Vehicons, however they had gained enough information from their examination of Breakdown that Silas could initiate Project Chimera. Operation: Breakdown

When MECH detected a Decepticon distress signal, Silas took a team to try to secure the Decepticon for MECH's use. Unfortunately it was bait, and Airachnid was the trap. Airachnid bargained with Silas — find Jack Darby and she would allow them to keep Arcee after she was done with her. Silas used MECH technology and the web to find information on Jack and had his mother June Darby kidnapped. Arcee and Jack were lured to a temporary MECH base in a factory. While Airachnid played with Jack, Silas, not believing the Decepticon would keep her part of the deal, ordered his men to extract Arcee's heart. Though the Autobot escaped before they could extract the part and Jack stole Silas's radio to contact Fowler, Silas at least got to witness Airachnid scanning a new alternate mode. Crisscross

A MECH team led by Silas successfully lured in Bumblebee, who was stunned by their equipment. While Silas kept an eye out for Bumblebee's partner, the MECH Surgeon procured a T-cog from the subject, and Silas called a retreat. They installed it into the robot they'd built as part of Project Chimera, but to Silas's disappointment, it failed to work. Starscream, who had followed them to their base, pointed out that they required Energon to power anything Cybertronian. Starscream proposed an alliance to allow them to find Energon for them to share, which Silas accepted on the condition that there be enough for the army they intended to build. Operation Bumblebee, Part 1

After securing a supply of energon, they made another attempt to activate the robot, only for Bumblebee to attack the MECH base. Silas was knocked over during Bumblebee's assault, and instructed Starscream to collect the T-cog and meet them outside. When Starscream arrived without the cog, Silas had the MECH troopers ambush him and take his. Operation Bumblebee, Part 2
MECH found the remains of Breakdown and reported their find to Silas. Crossfire

With the completion of Nemesis Prime, Silas attempted to use their experiment to bump off Agent Fowler. When this failed, he instead used it to attack Alden Military Base to turn the military against the Autobots. This inevitably drew the Autobots to their base, and Silas used Nemesis Prime to deal with them, but while he was using Nemesis to fight Optimus, Fowler infiltrated the base and attacked him. While Silas was distracted, Optimus defeated Nemesis Prime, the mech falling through the roof on top of Silas. Gravely injured, Silas was spirited away by MECH and hooked up to life support. While the Surgeon stated that nothing could be done for his body, Breakdown's body provided an alternative. Nemesis Prime (episode)
Soon after the bungled operation in which MECH teamed with Airachnid, Silas set out to get his revenge on Jack, directing his men to blow up schools. This eventually succeeded in drawing out the boy and Silas encountered Jack while blowing up Franklin High School. Trapping him in flames, Silas headed for the roof to evacuate by helicopter, only for Jack to follow him via the fire escape and deliver a kick to his nether regions. In the three years Megatron was wandering around space, the Decepticon Miners were constantly at work mining energon on Earth. After Megatron used Dark Energon to raise Cliffjumper, the zombified Autobot trashed a couple of Miners. The Autobots detected Cliffjumper's life signal and invaded the mine, encountering heavy resistance from the Miners as they did so. Though some of the Miners even used drills as offensive weapons, the Autobots destroyed pretty much all of them in their search and the mine was destroyed by Starscream. Darkness Rising, Part 2

A Decepticon Miner was working on a large drilling machine to help harvest energon on Earth, along with some Vehicons. However, a Synthetic Energon-enhanced Ratchet led an unexpected assault on the group, to which the Decepticon Miner responded by climbing up a cliff in front of his machine. Ratchet easily followed and incapacitated him with a large boulder, then proceeded to interrogate the miner. Despite trying to act tough with his "potty mouth", Ratchet simply used his blowtorch to torment the answers out of him. It worked. His cries for help, caused by Ratchet's aggressive act of burning the right side of his face, brought the attention of the other Autobots to his location and he was saved by Optimus Prime, whose proclamation of Ratchet going too far stopped the latter from impaling the poor miner with his blade.
Breakdown later told a miner about a Decepticon spider that he liked. The miner was presumably destroyed when Ratchet kicked the living daylights out of Breakdown. More miners were destroyed when the Autobots came to rescue Ratchet. Stronger, Faster
One day, a new employee named Sam Witwicky came in. After being tortured by an evil and suspicious Decepticon computer some time later, Sam passed by and tried to talk to Wang about the paper documents he gave him, but as he was being heavily monitored, he drove him away. Realizing that Jerry was giving away secrets, Laserbeak transformed in front of Jerry and tormented him. Jerry begged Laserbeak to spare him, but Laserbeak informed Jerry of his outlived usefulness and that he was to be "suicided". Jerry had other ideas, however, and pulled two guns out at Laserbeak. Despite this tactic of intimidation, Jerry was no match for the predatory bird-bot, who knocked him back into his chair and shoved him through one of the building's many glass windows, sending him plummeting to his splattery death. Dark of the Moon (film) Ha,wang means penis!
An example of Cybertronian wildlife re-engineered to serve Transformers, Laserbeak serves the Decepticons primarily as a scout and spy for Soundwave. But that doesn't mean he isn't capable of other tasks, such as hunting down targets for capture, be they human or Autobot.
Perhaps the most useful of his abilities is to transform into almost any type of alt-mode, even those who aren't alt-modes.

Laserbeak showed up at Chernobyl and intimidated Alexi Voskhod when he was about to say too much about their mission. Later, after Shockwave and Driller battled Optimus Prime and Ratchet with NEST soldiers commanded by William Lennox, Laserbeak killed Voskhod when he tried driving away in his white limo.

Laserbeak later showed up at Africa with Soundwave, where Starscream, Megatron, and Igor were all in a secret base to report the success of the Chernobyl mission. He was then ordered to kill all of the human collaborators of the Decepticons. During one of his attacks, he shape-shifted into a small pink version of Bumblebee, an even more advanced skill than scanning a vehicle to transform into. He then met a little girl, who presumably mistook him as the friendly robot. When her parents came in, Laserbeak transformed into his normal self and presumably killed the entire family.

He threatened Jerry Wang's life for information concerning Sam Witwicky, which made Jerry act extremely bizarre in front of Sam. Despite doing what Laserbeak ordered him to do, the sadistic Decepticon "suicided him", as ordered by his superiors, by swinging him out the window, sending him falling out of the skyscraper Sam was working in. Laserbeak then chased Sam, but he managed to escape.

When Sam was sent by Robert Epps to coerce the traitor and Decepticon supporter Dylan Gould into releasing Carly Brooks-Spencer, Laserbeak transformed out of his television mode and grabbed Sam with his talons and threw him out of the window, where Sam was saved by Bumblebee and his newly acquired Decepticon fighter. Laserbeak struggled with Sam on top of the fighter after Carly escaped, where Sam managed to hold Laserbeak's head in front of one of the fighter's guns and had Bumblebee fire, decapitating and killing Laserbeak. Dark of the Moon (film)
Commercial appearances
Laserbeak, in disguise as an office copy machine, got upset when he jammed because the office workers failed to use the good paper. He transformed and shot the place up until a woman went and got Double A paper. He then went back to making copies. Commercial/Dark of the Moon

Laserbeak played a vital role during Soundwave's mission to a former Sector Seven data archive. While Soundwave was able to fight his way to the base, he was unable to break in and so launched Laserbeak to infiltrate it instead.

Armed with a machine gun, the small but vicious Decepticon could not last long in an all-out firefight with the Autobots inside, so it had to rely on stealth. Using its abilities to take the form of holographic items and fixtures within the base, Laserbeak was able to ambush and slay numerous Autobots as it sought a way to allow Soundwave entry.

Throughout the course of this operation, Laserbeak encountered numerous defense drones, autoturrets and Autobots. It also learned that the base, while still containing useful data, was now used as a workshop by the Autobot scientist Wheeljack. Worse, Wheeljack was working with human scientists to develop MechTech weaponry.

Realising the threat, Soundwave now changed objectives from data retrieval to outright destruction. As the base was built in a volcano in order to take advantage of geothermal energy, he had Laserbeak damage several of the seismic dampeners that prevented the volcano from erupting. Laserbeak also managed to hack the gates, finally allowing Soundwave to enter the base personally and complete both objectives.

As the base was consumed in flames, Laserbeak flew overhead before landing on its master's arm, screeching in victory. Dark of the Moon (Xbox 360/PS3)
:Dark of the Moon Laserbeak transforms from a VTOL aircraft (similar to the G.I. Joe Sigma 6 Dragonhawk vehicle) to a Cybertronian bird/dragon thing. There are several MechTech weapon holes all over, on top and bottom of both wings, the bottom of both feet, and above and below the cockpit in vehicle mode with a total of 8. The two weapons included have Gatling-style barrels, with one gun being static while the other has a MechTech swapping feature, where the barrel swings around to reveal a second, different cannon barrel. The static gun can plug into the back of the MechTech gun to create a giant cannon. Both guns also include a C joint bar on top. The beast mode's mouth can open, and the heels on both feet are actually 5mm pegs. This allows the toy to perch on the arm of any toy with compatible holes in the arms or hands. The cockpit of the vehicle mode has a stylized bird head painted on both sides.

:The instructions show a different head than the final toy, with a more realistic looking bird head. Some of the paint applications shown on the packaging, including the ones on the weapons, were left off on the actual toy.
