On [[Velocitron]], everyone is in training for the next leg of the great race, although [[Crumplezone (Cybertron)|Crumplezone]] and [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack]] take a different approach than most, disguising themselves as trees to spy on [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]]. While the gruesome twosome learn nothing, [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]] is learning plenty as he struggles to get out of a pit obstacle the [[Autobot]]s have set up for him. With a little coaxing over a communications link from [[Coby Hansen|Coby]], Hot Shot is able to analyze his situation and successfully deduce the right move to escape the pit. [[Red Alert (Armada)|Red Alert]] then speaks up to inform [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] of a message from the [[Jungle Planet (Cybertron)|Jungle Planet]] that indicates that [[Overhaul (Cybertron)|Overhaul]] is in serious danger. Optimus and [[Vector Prime]] set off for the planet, little realizing that the message is a fake sent by the duplicitous [[Sideways (RID)|Sideways]].

Off in the depths of space, [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] has followed the [[Planet Map]] to the supposed location of the third planet bearing a [[Cyber Planet Key]], only to witness the only world in the sector be consumed by the [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]]. He radios [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] to discuss what to do next, but their conference call is interrupted by the shadowed figure of Sideways, who, unrecognized by the two Decepticons, tells them that Optimus Prime is heading to Jungle Planet. With no other leads to pursue at the present moment, Megatron decides to head back to Jungle Planet, and instructs Starscream to accompany him. Starscream complies, and summons Sideways (who has apparently joined up with the Decepticons now at some point when we weren't looking, because why ''ever'' would it have been important to show us ''that?'') to join him. [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]] and [[Mudflap (Cybertron)|Mudflap]] are a bit miffed that they don't get to go, but carry on having fun sparring.

On Jungle Planet, the two Primes have fallen foul of a giant hostile plant that ensnares Optimus in its vines. With a mighty roar, [[Overhaul (Cybertron)|Leobreaker]] comes stampeding onto the scene, and uses his [[Cyber Key]]-activated claws to slice Optimus free. The two Primes don't recognize the lion-bot as their old comrade Overhaul until he transforms, at which point [[Backstop (Cybertron)|Backstop]] and [[Snarl (Cybertron)|Snarl]] arrive to help explain the convoluted story behind Overhaul's transformation. The discussion is broadcast to the Autobots back on Earth and Velocitron as well, and when Coby expresses his amazement at Transformers with animal forms, Red Alert is prompted to give voice to his theory that Transformers, their alternate modes and their own Cyber Keys are all subject to the varying influences of the different planets' Cyber Planet Keys.

Back at Backstop's cave, the group discusses the mysterious origin of the distress call and the threat of the black hole, and the Autobots happily accept Snarl and Backstop's offer of help in their quest. A tremor suddenly shakes the cave, heralding the arrival of [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]], who has come to punish Snarl for his treachery. Optimus Prime refuses to hand Snarl over, suggesting they talk peacefully, when Megatron and his forces arrive, leading Scourge to propose that Prime and Megatron's troops battle to determine whether or not he will listen to Prime's request.

On Earth, Coby returns home with the [[Recon Mini-Con Team]] to gather provisions. [[Jolt (Cybertron)|Jolt]] isn't sure about the trip Coby is planning to take, but Coby insists it will be fine... and so the team boards a [[space bridge]] for Velocitron!

Back on the Jungle Planet, despite baiting by the Decepticons and Leobreaker's battle lust, Prime refuses to allow his men to fight. When Scourge and his troops turn to leave with Snarl in their clutches, however, Leobreaker can hold back no longer and leaps into action, initiating an all-out battle between the two sides, much to Scourge's delight. Megatron and Leobreaker face off, and the Decepticon leader transforms to jet mode and flies high into the sky before turning around and plunging back down, slamming Leobreaker into the ground at high speed. As Optimus Prime moves to aid his teammate, Leobreaker begins to surge with incredible energy... an energy that expands to engulf Optimus... the energy of Cybertron and Jungle Planet combined! To the amazement of all onlookers, Optimus Prime and Leobreaker combine into "Savage Claw Mode," with Leobreaker forming a huge clawed arm for Optimus. Unfazed, Megatron presses his attack against the empowered Optimus Prime, but the power of Savage Claw Mode is soon brought to bear in a mighty attack that dispatched the Decepticon leader in one shot. The Decepticons retreat, and Scourge agrees to let Snarl go, impressed with Prime's display of force.

On Velocitron, Coby and the Mini-Cons have arrived in time to witness the beginning of the next heat of the race!

*Not a major difference, but the first great example of the different mentalities of ''Galaxy Force'' and ''Cybertron'': The Japanese show doesn't actually bother to ''explain'' what it is that Hot Shot does to get out of the pit obstacle at the start of the episode. ''Cybertron'', in its quest to be logical, inserts a technological explanation involving redirecting energy and increased torque.
*In the final scene on Velocitron, ''Galaxy Force'' has Coby comment about wanting a better view of the race and Jolt saying that he can't because he'll be seen, at which point Coby pulls out a cardboard box and grins. The next episode will reveal that this box is part of a robot disguise that will allow Coby to move amongst the Velocitronians, and ''Cybertron'' inadvertently removes this bit of foreshadowing by changing the exchange to Coby simply assuring Jolt that Hot Shot can win.

===Continuity errors===

* When Sideways contacts Megatron, he appears to be a mysterious informant unknown to the Decepticons. In the very next scene, Starscream calls him in as though he'd been recruited into the Decepticons some time ago! This means that Sideways either joined up after making his call (extremely unlikely), was already a part of the Decepticons and simply unrecognized by Megatron (slightly less unlikely), or working with Starscream against the Decepticon leader (possible, given future episodes, but still reeks of desperation).
* For that matter, if Sideways WAS working for the Decepticons before, why didn't Megatron recognize him? He's not really disguising his voice or anything...

The destruction of [[Unicron]] has resulted in the formation of a colossal [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]] that now threatens the safety of Cybertron and the entire universe. Reporting from a remote station, [[Red Alert (Armada)|Red Alert]] informs the [[Autobot]]s on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] of the black hole's continued expansion and the resultant destruction of the planet [[Moriturus]], forcing [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] to issue a drastic command: the complete evacuation of Cybertron. The Autobots arrange to relocate to [[Earth]] and adopt vehicular forms scanned from the planet by [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] to hide in plain sight among humans.

A little later, as the population is transported via [[space bridge]] to Earth, the Autobots' headquarters is rocked by a tremor, caused by the appearance of a strange portal above the planet. From out of the portal emerges an ancient spaceship which suddenly transforms, revealing itself to be [[Vector Prime]], "keeper of space and time." Vector Prime wastes no time in explaining his purpose on the planet, informing the Autobots of the lost [[Cyber Planet Key|Cyber Planet Keys]], tiny fragments of the power of the Transformers' creator, [[Primus]], that were lost to the far reaches of space eons ago. The Autobots must now find the keys and restore Primus's power in order to stop the black hole, but as Vector Prime synchronizes the map that will lead them on their journey, [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] launches an attack on the base.

The Autobots retaliate, but Optimus Prime realizes that Starscream is simply serving as a distraction; while they have been busy fighting, [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] has infiltrated the base. Prime returns just as Megatron overpowers the ancient Transformer and steals his map. Meanwhile, Starscream goes one-on-one outside with [[Landmine (Energon)|Landmine]], but the fight takes a turn in the Decepticon's favor when the crumbling surface of Cybertron shifts under Landmine's feet. Starscream exploits this momentary distraction to blast Landmine into the air, where he is caught in the pull of the black hole. As the villains escape, Vector Prime opens a portal in Landmine's path, teleporting him across space and time to safety.

Across the galaxy, on Earth, the Hansen family are picnicking in the Rocky Mountains. [[Coby Hansen|Coby]] and his father ride dirt bikes through the forest, much to the consternation of Coby's friend [[Lori]], whose family have moved to the Hansens' sleepy country town for the peace and quiet, which the Hansens are now disturbing. Before a full-scale argument can break out between Coby and Lori, Coby's younger brother, [[Bud Hansen]], steps in and calms things down, and the three kids go for a walk. A strange glow in the sky attracts the kids' attention, and they watch as something comes crashing down nearby. That something, as they soon discover, is Landmine.

The kids drag Landmine out of the crater he has made for himself, and Coby puts some of his mechanical knowledge to work repairing an injury in the Autobot's arm. As Coby goes to work, Lori and Bud polish Landmine's armor, and he recounts to them the events that led to his arrival on Earth. Little does Landmine know, however, that Megatron has ordered [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]] to follow Landmine to Earth, and the loud-mouthed Decepticon soon tracks him down and opens fire. Landmine and the kids are saved when Thundercracker is knocked out of the sky by the sudden arrival of Optimus Prime, who lures him into a narrow cavern and uses the cramped space to explode Thundercracker's missiles in his own face. Thundercracker flees, and the Autobots all gather at Prime's location, where they are reunited with Landmine and introduce themselves to Coby, Bud and Lori. Vector Prime's [[Mini-Con]] companions, [[Jolt (Cybertron)|Jolt]], [[Six-Speed]] and [[Reverb (Cybertron)|Reverb]], also introduce themselves, at which point Jolt recognizes the symbol on Lori's shirt. Although Lori insists that it is simply a rock group album cover, supposedly an image from [[Atlantis]], Vector Prime explains that it is the symbol of the [[Omega Lock]], the focusing device for the Cyber Planet Keys...meaning that the ancient device must be hidden somewhere on Earth!

===Differences with ''Galaxy Force''===
This episode is a composite of the first two Japanese ''Galaxy Force'' episodes, "The Sacred Homeworld, Planet Cybertron, Destroyed?!" and "Encounter with the Transformers". This is effectively accomplished by beginning the episode ''in medias res'', kicking off with the Transformers already in the process of evacuating Cybertron and Landmine being warped to Earth. The opening and closing scenes of the first episode (the family having their barbecue and the kids finding Landmine) are then presented back-to-back, and all the other events of the first episode are presented in heavily truncated form as flashbacks told by Landmine. No real plot points or important actions from the first episode are lost in this manner—things are just more condensed—but removed footage includes:

*Lori complaining over the phone to a friend of hers back in the city about boring country life, then getting angry when she hears the noise of the Hansens' bikes.
*Coby actually winning the bike race, only to find that his family doesn't congratulate him, but instead commiserates with his father. This scene and a few others like it peppered throughout the first quarter of the series (for example, the opening scene of "[[Search]]") suggest that Coby's relationship with the rest of his family is not the greatest, but it never actually ''goes'' anywhere, and ''Cybertron'' elects to omit this facet of the boy's character.
*Lori spilling a drop of the juice Bud gives her on Coby's bike, prompting the boy to go off on a rant about how machines are alive. Lori incredulously asks if the plane flying overhead is alive as well...not realizing that it's Jetfire, who is on Earth scanning the machines that he proceeds to take back to Cybertron for use as disguises by his fellow Autobots. It is over whether machines are "tools" or "lifeforms" that Coby and Lori are arguing when we rejoin the characters a little later, right before they find Landmine.
*The Autobots constructing a huge "Cyber Cannon", with which they blast the black hole. It briefly appears to succeed in destroying the singularity before the black hole reasserts itself.
*Starscream and Megatron spying on Vector Prime's address to the Autobots from within the [[fire dimension]].
*The first appearance of Starscream's vehicle mode transformation [[stock footage]].
*The Autobots regrouping after Megatron and Starscream escape. The team believes that Landmine has been sucked into the black hole, and Optimus Prime vows to find him, but first they have to take the space bridge to Earth, as Cybertron vanishes into the depths of the black hole and disappears in a flash of light. In particular, the notion that Cybertron was sucked into the black hole was very deliberately omitted from the ''Cybertron'' dub, and when the characters return to the planet in the second half of the series, it is likewise claimed to be not within the singularity, but merely near it.

In one notable piece of changed dialogue, ''Cybertron'' has Lori refer to a brother that did not exist in ''Galaxy Force''. Naturally, this brother would never appear or be mentioned again.

Also, in Galaxy Force, despite Galaxy Force not being intended to follow [[Energon (cartoon)|Super Link]], Bud somehow knows of the existence of Transformers before anyone tells him.

To incorporate these flashbacks, it was the second ''Galaxy Force'' episode which really received a chopping. Long scenes removed from this episode include:

*Autobots pursuing Megatron through space and battling him and Starscream for possession of Vector Prime's map.
*The revelation that the map is based on an older layout of the universe and not especially helpful.
*The Autobots searching for Landmine on Earth, including Scattorshot scanning his alternate mode from a billboard.

===Animation or technical errors===
Strangely, this episode features some scenes using different animation from their Japanese counterparts.

*When listening to Red Alert's report, and later, while addressing the Autobots before the evacuation, Optimus Prime features a noticeably different color scheme, with different coloration on his helmet, midriff, pelvis and forearms. This colour scheme (likely test colours) was featured in Japanese hobby and character magazines a few months before the ''Galaxy Force'' series aired in Japan in late December 2004.
*The animation which accompanies Vector Prime's recounting of the history of the Cyber Planet Keys is completely different between versions, with the Japanese version simply featuring four glowing lights on a black background, and the American version actually displaying the keys against a spinning map of space.

===Continuity errors===
*As a result of the episodes being cut up and stuck back together, Vector Prime seems to appear in two places at once. He clashes with Megatron inside the base, but when Megatron breaks out, he immediately escapes atop Starscream. However, Starscream was present when Vector Prime opened the warp gate to send Landmine to Earth, meaning that Vector Prime would had to have been outside already.

* Optimus drops one of the franchise's most famous taglines: "Robots in disguise".

The second episode, "[[Haven]]", was also skipped domestically, and neither aired in the U.S. until ''Cybertron'' moved to the [[Kids' WB]] afternoon programming block, several months after the series had debuted.
*Megatron is not voiced in this episode by his regular voice actor, [[David Kaye]], but by [[Trevor Devall]], doing his best Kaye impression.

The other Autobots' vehicle modes also deviate slightly from the scans (to accommodate their Cyber Key slots), but not to the same extent.

The [[Decepticon]]s are building engines into the side of a comet in order to alter its course and crash it on top of [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]. As they fire up the engines, a group of [[Autobot]]s close in, led there by [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]]. The Autobots attack, much to [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]]'s dismay. The [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]] form [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]], who is promptly flattened when [[Broadside (G1)|Broadside]] drops on him in ship mode. In the ensuing battle, the engines are destroyed, and the comet is sent hurtling towards a small planet, which Perceptor reports is inhabited.

The Autobots attempt unsuccessfully to stop the comet before Galvatron again orders his men to engage their foe. While Galvatron and [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]] are grappling, waves of sound energy destroy the comet and cause both groups of Transformers to plummet to the planet's surface. In a nearby city, three aliens are having a disagreement. One of them, [[Allegra]], storms out, saying that she's going to her retreat.

The Transformers recover from their crash, wondering what hit them. [[Soundwave (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Soundwave]] describes it as the most perfect harmony ever, but Galvatron is more interested in its destructive power. Broadside breaks up the discussion by punching Galvatron, and the fight resumes. As the Constructicons form Devastator again, Perceptor blows the giant apart with one shot from his cannon. Galvatron and Soundwave depart in search of the source of the harmony they heard earlier, but Ultra Magnus spots them leaving and takes Broadside and [[Blaster (G1)|Blaster]] in pursuit. Perceptor reflects that unless the trio are swift, there might not be much of them left.

Broadside swiftly passes the two Decepticons and overflies the city, which Blaster realises is laid out like a musical harmony. Magnus and Blaster meet with [[Basso Profundo]], leader of the planet [[Eurythma]], but Basso refuses to help them, believing that the harmony is all his people need to protect themselves. He drops a hint that Allegra might be able to help them, a fact overheard by Galvatron and Soundwave, who are spying outside. As the three Autobots go in search of Allegra, the Decepticons drop a bridge on them. To make sure, Galvatron blasts the wreckage, and the pair fly off to find Allegra.

Basso watches the two Decepticons leave, and fellow [[Eurythman]] [[Zebop Skandana]] uses a harmony to help the Autobots out of the rubble. Blaster realises that the Zebop was creating part of the harmony which originally blew the Autobots out of space, and Zebop says he's sympathetic to their cause and will help them find Allegra.

The two Decepticons meet Allegra, offering to help her overthrow Basso in return for the secret of the harmony. She obliges and Soundwave records it, but to Galvatron's rage, it turns out that she is only one part of the harmony; Basso and Zebop make up the other two thirds. Still, when the Autobots arrive with Zebop, Soundwave is testing the part of the harmony he has by destroying a rock. The Autobots set up an ambush, but Zebop is so distressed by the fact that Allegra is working with the Decepticons that he gives away their position. Galvatron starts firing, and Zebop takes refuge in Ultra Magnus's cab. Soundwave begins battering the Autobots with the harmony. When Zebop counters with ''his'' part of the harmony, Soundwave promptly records it and uses the resulting two-thirds of the harmony to devastating effect.

With the Autobots apparently gone, Galvatron terminates the alliance with Allegra. She attempts to attack them with her part of the harmony, but Soundwave retaliates, knocking her out. The Autobots climb out of their hole in time to prevent Galvatron from terminating the Eurythman, but during the resulting fight, Blaster and Soundwave struggle and accidentally fall on Zebop. Galvatron grabs his minion and departs, leaving Allegra cradling Zebop in her arms. Though the Autobots believe he's had it, Allegra uses a harmony to revive him. The Autobots leave for the city.

Back at the landing site, the rest of the Autobots and Decepticons are still fighting. Hot Spot voices his hope that Magnus, Blaster and Broadside hurry. The Eurythmans have spotted the battle, and Basso uses an amplifier to direct a destructive harmony at it. [[Defensor (G1)|Defensor]] is forced to disassemble, but the two factions fight on. Basso is depressed, and his aide points out he needs Allegra and Zebop to complete the harmony. Arriving, Soundwave begins playing two-thirds of the harmony, shaking the city and provoking Basso into using the third part again, which Soundwave promptly records. He is subsequently able to use the complete harmonic weapon to attack the city. Pleased, Galvatron announces their next targets are Metroplex and then [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]].

Ultra Magnus's party arrives back at the city to find it devastated and their fellow Autobots badly damaged. The Eurythmans are able to repair Perceptor and the [[Protectobot (G1)|Protectobots]] with a harmony, and the Autobots set off for Earth.

Galvatron and Soundwave attack Metroplex with the harmony, but the Autobots soon arrive with the three Eurythmans, who nullify Soundwave's weapon with anti-sound. Blaster grabs Soundwave and uses his buttons to erase the harmony from Soundwave's tapes. Despite Galvatron raging that he hasn't ordered a retreat, the Decepticons flee anyway. The Autobots return the Eurythmans to their world, where Ultra Magnus tells them they need to learn to live in harmony.

"Carnage in C-Minor" is infamous among the fandom for the sheer number of animation errors in this episode. Among the more prominent are the following:

* Throughout the entire episode, Broadside is drawn with a previously [[:Image:BroadsideCarnage.jpg|discarded]] [[character model]].

* Devastator is the exact same size as Soundwave during the start of the first battle.

* Devastator also appears before he forms later in the battle.

* While the Autobots are shooting at the meteor, they are so badly drawn that they appear to have only one leg each, left arms starting from the elbows, and enormous heads...and Superion is tiny.

*When Bonecrusher orders the formation of Devastator, he's wearing an Autobot insignia. See also the continuity error below.

* When the Constructicons form Devastator for the second time, the first shot shows four Constructicons forming the legs and the torso. The second shot shows three robots forming the arms and upper torso. This means that [[Devastator (ROTF)|''seven'' Constructicons formed Devastator.]]

And it seems [[Bonecrusher (G1)|Bonecrusher]] has switched sides, as he's helping them shoot at the giant Decepticon rocket engine he just helped build! (Huffer has the wrong paint job, too.)

* To add insult to injury, Devastator is shooting at the Autobots ''before'' the Constructicons form Devastator.

* Soundwave travels with Galvatron to find the source of the harmony. However, when the scene returns to the battle outside the city, Soundwave is with the other Decepticons at the same time.

* The Eurythman characters' names are all music-related puns. Allegra and Basso Profundo are references to terms related to classical music, while Zebop Skandana is named after popular music guitarist Carlos Santana and his song Zebop. And the difference shows.

* Eurythma was possibly named after the popular '80s band [[wikipedia:Eurythmics|The Eurythmics]].

* "Carnage in C-Minor" is widely regarded by fans as the worst episode of all ''Transformers'' series, but this is seemingly due to the sheer volume of animation errors, as well as the glaringly obvious nature of many of the individual errors. However, the actual ''plot'' is certainly not the weakest to grace the cartoon series, and its "continuity errors" have little to nothing to do with the script itself...certainly not to the level of, say, "[[B.O.T. (episode)|B.O.T.]]".

* That said, there is plenty of inanity to be found in the story too. For instance: Despite the aliens' dialog being in perfectly understandable English (or Galactic Standard or whatever), because they say everything in a sing-song rhythm, apparently none of the Transformers except Blaster and Soundwave can understand them, and the two tape decks spend a large (and annoying) amount of time translating Eurythman to "non-sing-song" for everyone else.

* Galvatron and Soundwave are briefly seen holding hands whilst flying. It's unspeakably adorable.

* Apparently, a single blast from [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]]'s [[lightning cannon]] can cause [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]] to disassemble. And [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] believes that intellectuals are weak.

* Anyone else bothered that this "sonic weapon" was used to destroy a comet IN SPACE?

* This was one of several episodes subjected to the [[MSTF]] treatment at [[BotCon 1999]].

* In hindsight, it wasn't the best idea for Soundwave to have his erase button open so it could be pushed by a enemy. Or to have an erase button in the first place. For their sake, we hope [[Rumble]] and the other [[Decepticon Mini-Cassette|cassettes]] had their copy-protection tabs removed.

Some will vehemently refuse to admit it exists. Others ''really'' don't care about [[Transformers brand|the brand]] beyond it. Regardless of [[Fandom|opinions]], [[Transformer]]s engaging in or pursuing interaction of a '''romantic nature''' is a well-established element in pretty much every continuity. For the most part, Transformers are observed searching for romantic partners amongst their own kind, but attraction to organic lifeforms and even non-living objects has been documented as well.

Some wonder why a species that likely does not [[Reproduction|reproduce]] sexually would participate in behavior that in other creatures exists as a means to promote sex and thereby new life. While a definitive answer to this has yet to be given, the question as to why Transformers become romantically involved with one another can be approached from a different angle. Transformers are a highly social species. This is shown through their very human-like society, interpersonal interactions, [[Relatives|familial relationships]], and even the fairly common practice of merging [[Combiner|bodies]] and minds. If these are not frowned upon, then why should social connections of the romantic kind be regarded much differently, if at all? Perhaps there is no reason for them to engage in romance, but then there is equally no reason for them not to.

Though rather obscure, there is even an official term for two Transformers in a relationship: "[[spark]]mates". Existing as a [[Fan fiction|fan term]] mostly, it has been used in two official sources, the end-of-game [[bio]] for [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]], in reference to her and [[Tigatron]], in the Nintendo 64 version of the "[[Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals (N64)|Beast Wars Transmetals]]" video game<ref>''Beast Wars Transmetals'' end-of-game bios - [http://groups.google.com/group/alt.toys.transformers/msg/756a36c7076a7195?dmode=source transcription]</ref> and again in [[Venus (magazine)|Venus]]. In addition, [[Downshift (Energon)|Downshift]]'s [[Cyber Key Codes|Cyber Key Code info]] appears to refer to Transformer marriage in stating that he and his partner "joined together under the [[Covenant of Primus]]".

The most common observation of Cybertronian romance is between a male and a [[female Transformer]]. Considering the general scarcity of female Transformers, and perhaps the absence of [[Reproduction|sexual reproduction]], this is a rather interesting if odd situation. Second to that are the number of noted relations between a Transformer and an organic, equally so almost solely between a (nominally) male and female. These become more frequent as the gender balance becomes less even, even if that is a direct result of Transformers allegedly being genderless. Third in line come "couples" that consist of a Transformer fawning over a not-living object, often regarding it as of the opposite gender.

The Japanese version of ''[[Beast Wars (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' had [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]] as a male, making ''his'' relation with [[Tigatron]] an instance of a homosexual Transformer couple.<ref name="Airazorboy">The reason the Japanese ''Beast Wars'' dub had Airazor male was because Takara hoped to increase toy sales that way. Therefore, the relationship with [[Tigatron]] was initially played off somewhat differently to avoid complaints of homosexuality. Tigatron was presented as a samurai retainer with protective feelings towards his young ward, their closeness addressed in a "brotherly" sort of way. Although Transformers come in all shapes and sizes anyway, some characters have particularly round appearances that suggest something equivalent to human obesity.

* [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] is virtually as wide as he is tall and is depicted as extremely round, with very short, stubby legs. It gives him more than a passing resemblance to a heavily obese person, or at best one of those huge, flabby, off-season wrestlers.
* Much the same could be said of [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]]. Being big-chassised is no excuse to let yourself go.

Cybertron was the adopted form of the lord of the light gods [[Primus]], who trapped himself and [[Unicron]] in barren asteroids which they then shaped into their physical forms. Aside from the Transformers, the world seems to possess the mechanical equivalent of plant and animal life, though the exact nature and origin of this lower "life" has never been examined in detail. This version of Cybertron has rough hewn [[Manganese Mountains|mountain ranges]] and great [[Rust Sea|seas]]. (Though of note these seas are not made of water. Liquid water is so rare on Cybertron as to be thought a mythical substance.) The atmosphere and temperature on most of the surface is such that human life can survive unaided.

In its earliest recorded era Cybertron orbited [[wikipedia:Alpha Centauri|Alpha Centauri]], and the Transformers were at peace. But the avaricious [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] sought to rule the planet and turn it into a "cosmic [[wikipedia:Dreadnought|dreadnaught]]". This plan would find a kind of fruition, but not what Megatron intended: The cataclysmic forces of his [[Cybertronian Civil Wars|wars]] eventually sent the planet careening through deep space.

Twelve million years ago, the [[Quintessons]] used Cybertron as a factory to manufacture their robot creations. Notably, the origins of the planet are never explicitly stated—the Quintessons may have built it, terraformed an organic world, or colonized an existing metal planet. Whatever the case, after a million years, the Quintessons were forced to abandon Cybertron when their robots evolved true sentience and feelings, and knew they were being used as slaves, rebelling in the [[Cybertronian Civil Wars|First Cybertronian War]]. The second war was soon to come, however, when the robots splintered into two factions, the peace-loving [[Autobot]]s and the war-mongering [[Decepticons]]—and began fighting amongst themselves. With the Autobots' innovation of transformation, they were able to win—or at least stalemate—the war, and a period of peace descended on Cybertron, which shone with a healthy golden glow, distinguishing the period as the "[[Golden Age]]".

Eventually, however, Decepticons adopted transformation as well, along with robot-mode flight, and around nine million years ago, the creation of the Decepticon [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] re-ignited the war on Cybertron. Megatron rallied like-minded individuals to his cause, and brainwashed others into his service, quickly killing the current Autobot leader in a strike on one of [[Iacon (city-state)|Iacon]]'s outer cities. With this act kept out of the public knowledge, rumors circulated as Autobot machinesmith [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] worked diligently on a new process to reconstruct Autobots into battle-hardy configurations for the war he knew was coming. That war finally erupted in full when Megatron fatally injured a naive young dock worker, Orion Pax, and Alpha Trion made him the first subject of his new process, reconstructing him into [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]], who would lead the Autobots in the [[Great War (G1)|Third Cybertronian War]].

After a further five million years of war, during which many Autobots fled the planet, the Decepticons had acquired a large hold on the planet, with the majority of it under their control. The main Autobot force continued to operate from the capital city-state of Iacon, but Cybertron's energy levels were depleted to a dangerous low, necessitating a space mission to locate a new planet with new sources of energy that the Transformers could harness. Optimus Prime led his best and brightest on the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]], but they were pursued by Megatron's elite troops, and all were stranded in stasis on Earth for four million years.

In the ensuing four million years, [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]], who Megatron had left in charge as guardian of the planet, maintained the Decepticon hold on the planet, though he was unaware of the continued guerrilla efforts of [[Elita One]]'s [[Female Autobots]] to undermine him as they raided his energy supplies. Eventually, Cybertron's energy level dipped so low as to put the planet in immediate, mortal danger. Reestablishing contact with Megatron, who had awoken with the other Transformers on Earth in the year 1984, Shockwave co-designed the [[Space Bridge]], an intergalactic transport system that could transport [[Energon (fuel)|Energon]] Cubes from Earth to Cybertron, abating the planet's impending doom.

Cybertron's place in the universe was forcibly altered in 1984 when the Decepticons constructed a colossal Space Bridge that actually transported the entire planet into the [[Solar system|Sol system]], into Earth's orbit, where its gravity wreaked havoc with the planet's natural balance, unleashing an unending torrent of energy created by natural disasters. The energy acquired re-energized Cybertron enough to put it out of the danger zone, but the planet was soon knocked out of orbit by a massive Energon explosion, and set drifting off through the solar system. At this closer range, Cybertron remained easily accessed throughout 1985 at least, with the Autobots now able to reach it by conventional transportation ([[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]]), rather than having to constantly hijack use of the spacebridge.

By the Earth year 2005, Cybertron had exited the Sol system, but, remaining within the Milky Way, was still relatively easily accessible by shuttlecraft from Earth. By this time, the Decepticon forces had succeeded in conquering the entire planet, forcing all the Autobots off it, leading them to relocate to [[Autobot City]] on Earth, and to two staging ground bases on two of [[Moonbase One|Cybertron]]'s [[Moonbase Two|moons]]. It was at this time that Cybertron came under attack from the world eater, [[Unicron]], who consumed the two moonbases and assaulted Cybertron itself, only to be destroyed by the power of the [[Matrix of Leadership|Autobot Matrix of Leadership]]. His deactivated, decapitated head fell into orbit around Cybertron, a grisly new satellite to replace those he had destroyed. With the Decepticon forces in disarray after Unicron's attack, [[Hot Rod (G1)|Rodimus Prime]] and his troops succeeded in driving their foes off Cybertron, reclaiming the planet for the Autobots, and restoring and re-energizing much of the planet by 2006, when the world came under frequent attacks from the returning Quintessons, whose previously-secret history with the Transformers came to light.

The Oracle's body was destroyed, but his essence, encased within a protective shell, fled to a dead planet at the center of the universe, which he proceeded to transform into a verdant, living world.

With the Matrix's energy depleted, Vector Sigma's balance—permanently tilted in favor of the Autobots by the existence of the Matrix—was reset to neutrality, allowing the Decepticons, bolstered by their new [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmaster]] troops, to freely invade Cybertron. Eventually, this forced Optimus Prime to sacrifice his life by merging with Vector Sigma in order to stabilize the computer before it destroyed Cybertron from within.

Not long thereafter, Vector Sigma developed a new metal alloy dubbed [[Cybertonuron]], which enticed Galvatron into another raid on the planet. However, the Decepticon Headmaster leader, [[Scorponok (G1)|Zarak]], feared the power that Galvatron would gain from the alloy, and so, to prevent either him or the Autobots from obtaining it, arranged for his Headmasters to plant bombs at the core of the planet, within Vector Sigma's chamber. The tranquility of that age would come to a rapid end when [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] returned from the [[Beast Wars (event)|Beast Wars]] and set a [[Transformation virus|virus]] loose on the world that incapacitated the population and paved the way for [[Vehicon (BM)|Vehicon]] rule.

As [[Optimus Primal]] and his Maximals fought back, several facts about the planet became apparent. It had at least two moons, one with big gashes in its surface. The Maximal city of [[Cybertropolis]] had been built over the ruins of [[Iacon (city-state)|Iacon]] and was home to billions of Transformers. And this was just the latest example of an eons-old trend of vertical expansion. In fleeing from the Vehicons, the Maximals found many layers of abandoned civilization, all the way down to the rocky crust of the world. There, fossils existed of bats, dinosaurs, and birds (which were well-preserved enough to harbor DNA). A few plants, such as trees and flowers, were seen growing underground or even occasionally breaking through to the surface. And stranger yet, drilling through the rock revealed the planet's green, oozing "organic core".

Another previously-unseen feature of the planet—but one that went unremarked upon—was its heavy cloud cover. Across dimensions and timeframes, Cybertron has been conspicuously devoid of visible weather systems. But when the Maximals returned from the Beast Wars, their view from orbit showed extensive, unmistakable clouds (which were also seen from the ground). This wouldn't last forever, though: By the time [[Botanica (BM)|Botanica]] arrived, the clouds had vanished again. The only major planetary event in the meantime was the doomsday energy storm that occurred when Primal and Megatron pitted the [[Plasma energy|Plasma Energy Chamber]] against the [[Key to Vector Sigma]]. However, it is unclear whether this actually caused any meteorological effects.

Finding a chamber of fossils, [[Nightscream (BM)|Nightscream]] drew the conclusion that Cybertron's animals had been driven extinct by colonizing robots, a theory mildly supported by Primal's conviction that a balance between organic and mechanical needed to be "restored" to the planet. In the end, Primal's dream became a reality when he applied his "[[reformatting]]" power to the organic core and converted the entire world to a [[technorganic]] state.

The Transformer race has abandoned the planet (save for occasional scientific surveys from orbit) and is now conducting its conflict across the galaxy.

[[Primus]], a "unique digital entity", came to exist eons ago. To search for other life in the universe, it sent out the Transformers as explorers. One of the first places the Tansformers settled was on a planet that would eventually become known as Cybertron. {{storylink|First Encounter}}

Cybertron is the body of Primus. Much like the versions of Cybertron before it, it is a metallic planet that is damaged by conflict. Cybertron existed in an unnamed system until the ''Energon'' series, where it was pulled from orbit and pushed into another part of space (or universe) that [[Alpha Quintesson]] had created.

In ''Energon'', Cybertron was equipped with a system of [[Energon Tower (building)|Energon Towers]] that could surround the planet with a protective field, which has since been disabled due to Decepticon attack.

Cybertron had at least one known moon in the ''Armada'' series, but this moon turned out to be Unicron. It is unknown whether it was always Unicron's depowered body, or if the moon somehow became a new "host" body for him.

Through the ages, Cybertron has had many repairs, causing new "layers" to be added to the surface of the planet. Deep within the core is a pool of [[Super Energon]] that was once guarded by the four ancient combiners, [[Constructicon Maximus]], and [[Bruticus Maximus (Energon)|Bruticus Maximus]], [[Superion Maximus]], and the latter's unnamed brother.

At the end of the ''Energon'' series, Cybertron was granted a new sun when Primus trapped Unicron's spark within a ball of Super Energon, igniting it. This sun would eventually collapse, becoming the [[Unicron Singularity]].

It is unknown how large Cybertron is in this continuity, but it is most likely [[Scale|the size of Earth or smaller]]. Cybertron has an atmosphere, but it was unbreathable by Earth life forms as when [[Rad White|Rad]], [[Carlos Lopez|Carlos]] and [[Alexis]] visited the planet in 2010, they required spacesuits to operate on the surface; by 2020, however, humans were capable of surviving without specialised suits, indicating that an oxygen/nitrogen-based atmosphere may have somehow been generated by the planet or created by Transformers or humans artificially.

In the ''Cybertron'' series, much of the planet had been repaired, including the construction of a "[[Sky Dome]]" headquarters where important meetings are held. This structure housed the artifacts that were used to mount the [[Omega Lock]], which unlocks the robot form of Cybertron.

Cybertron was a world created by a device known as the [[AllSpark (Movie)|AllSpark]]. With its power, it created a race of dimensional travelers, the [[Thirteen original Transformers|Thirteen Primes]], and made Cybertron suitable for their habitation. The Primes soon discovered that while the All Spark's power was vast, it was also finite, needing to be recharged. The universe soon provided the answer, for a nearby star went nova, recharging the AllSpark. Though the Primes could travel dimensions, they needed help locating stars and harvesting their energy. The AllSpark responded by creating two things to help the Primes. The first gift was the second race of Cybertronians, the [[Transformer]]s, who could change their forms. The Thirteen Primes ruled over the Transformers with their descendants, forming the [[Dynasty of Primes]], to protect the All Spark and Cybertron, while seeking out stars to harvest. The Dynasty even shared their dimensional traveling abilities with the [[Seeker (ROTF)|Seeker]]s, those tasked with finding stars. Once they found a star, the Dynasty would follow with [[Constructicon (ROTF)|builders]] to forge a [[star harvester|harvester]] to drain a star of its energy and send it to the All Spark to form [[Energon (fuel)|Energon]]. The second gift the AllSpark gave the Dynasty was the [[Matrix of Leadership]], a key which contained the essence of the AllSpark and powered the harvesters. The Dynasty of Primes recognized the potential for destruction the harvesters presented, so they decreed that any star system whih supported life was to be spared.

One day, the Dynasty of Primes and their attendants came to [[Earth|a world]] to harvest its [[sun|star]]. Just as the harvester was completed, the Primes discovered [[human|primitive but sentient creatures]]. Twelve of the Primes upheld the sanctity of life, but the thirteenth despised the creatures as insects and sought to steal the All Spark's power for himself. What followed was the very first battle of Transformer against Transformer, as the rogue Prime and his loyalists waged war against the Dynasty of Primes and their loyalists. The rogue Prime murdered eleven of his brothers, but the twelfth stole the Matrix and hid it a [[Tomb of the Primes|tomb]] forged from the bodies of his brothers, sacrificing his own spark to seal the Tomb. The rogue Prime, now known as [[The Fallen]], dispatched the Seekers to find the Matrix. When he returned to Cybertron, he brought his war there as well, killing the rest of the Primes and destroying his brothers' [[Sarcophagus|sarcophagi]] to prevent them from returning. However, he expended much of his power in this process and withdrew to his own sarcophagus to heal. It was there that he learned that he'd made two mistakes: First, the spirits of his brothers were able to seal him in the sarcophagus, preventing him taking over Cybertron. Second, the warriors of the Dynasty had managed to save a single orphan, hiding him from the Fallen. Eventually, what little the Transformers knew of their origins would be lost to time. A new society arose, known as the [[Autobot]]s. The Autobots were a peaceful people, led by [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus]], head of the [[Science Division]], and [[Megatron (Movie)|Protector Megatron]], head of the [[Defense Force]]. The two leaders created a balance; Optimus was fair while Megatron was firm. {{storylink|Movie Prequel issue 1|Prime Directive (IDW) issue 1}} Their world's main cities included [[Tyger Pax]], [[Metrotitan (ROTF)|Metrotitan]], [[Simfur]], and the capital city of [[Trypticon (Movie)|Trypticon]]. As Megatron began to grow more aggressive, Optimus discovered that he was the orphaned Prime hidden away when the Dynasty fell. Megatron raised an army, the Decepticons, and sought to take the AllSpark to conquer the universe. However, most of the early Decepticon forces left on the [[Nemesis (ROTF)|''Nemesis'']] with The Fallen and [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]] to seek out the harvester. With the number of Megatron's Decepticons now diminished, Optimus assumed his proper [[Prime (rank)|title]] and raised his own army of Autobots. In the war that followed, Cybertron was decimated. Prime eventually sent the AllSpark through a wormhole into deep space, and Megatron pursued it. Both were lost. Without the All Spark's power, Cybertron became a dead world. Geography-wise, the surface of Cybertron is a mystery. Large rivers of molten liquid criss-cross the planet, though whether this is lava, molten metal, or possibly [[Energon (fuel)|energon]] is anyone's guess. In more urbanized areas, such as the city of [[Tyger Pax]], the stone and lava seem to be covered over with steel or other refined metal. However, these incidents took place during the war, so it may have been the result of the devastation Cybertron saw. :[[Primus]] transforms into the planet Cybertron as seen in the [[Cybertron (cartoon)|''Cybertron'' cartoon series]]. In planet mode, he is considerably more detailed than [[Unicron]] from the [[Armada (toyline)|''Armada'' line]], with visible cities, including [[Iacon (city-state)|Iacon]], based upon its appearance in the [[DK Publishing]] book, ''[[Transformers: The Ultimate Guide]]'', and [[Kaon]] as seen in ''[[The War Within]]''. On the "bottom" of the planet mode there are four hard rubber legs, molded to be shaped like towers, allowing Primus to be displayed in planet mode, yet not require a flat base as Unicron did.

:Primus's transformation is unusual, in many ways similar to a [[Powermaster]], in that he requires the owner to insert his accompanying [[Omega Lock]] accessory into several special ports around the planet, then manipulate it to unlock his parts and transform him. When the Omega Lock is inserted into his back and pushed, a transforming sound is heard. When it is inserted into his chest and pushed up to reveal his head, his eyes glow red and a laser-type sound effect is heard. The Lock itself lights up red when it is inserted into any of the ports.

:In robot mode, Primus resembles both the ''[[Beast Wars Neo (franchise)|Beast Wars Neo]]'' Unicron prototype as well as [[Don Figueroa]]'s Primus concept, created for ''The War Within'' and used in ''The Ultimate Guide''. He is bristling with weaponry, including two shoulder-mounted cannons that can fire missiles, two forearm blasters that raise and extend when a Cyber Power Key is inserted, and several banks of Gatling guns, lasers and missile launchers in his shins and legs revealed by the Omega Lock.

:Primus also has what might charitably be called a third mode—an intergalactic world-ship, which is basically formed by transforming the figure halfway and leaving the head down and the legs backward. It features no dedicated parts or transformation steps, making it very obvious that it was created after the fact.

:Primus comes with two accessories, the aforementioned battery-operated Omega Lock that lights up red when inserted into any of the four Omega Lock ports, and a special silver Cybertron-Planet Cyber Power Key with the key code '''sp8u''' [[tampograph]]ed onto the back. Any four Cyber Planet Keys can be inserted into the four key slots at the base of the Omega Lock, though doing this does not activate any feature. There are also nine inactive [[Mini-Con]] [[powerlinx]] ports on the Primus figure, including two on the claws on his legs.

:Primus was developed by Hasbro and Takara as a toy for their joint ''Cybertron/Galaxy Force'' toylines, but was released in Japan in the ''Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers'' line a few months after ''Galaxy Force'' had ended its run. This release can be considered a pre-release of the ''Cybertron'' toy because it features Hasbro's [[Cyber Key Codes]] that the ''Galaxy Force'' line lacked.
