I've always been puzzled by the ''the'' in the theme tune ("''The'' Transformers, more than meets the eye" etc). It doesn't fit the music, it's superfluous, and the singers sound pushed to sing it within the split-second they have. As a kid I completely missed it, and assumed the song went "Transformers, more than etc". :The line was called "The Transformers" at least in early G1. Look at some pictures of first year g1 boxes, or early issues of the Marvel Comics series.
