Skywarp has always looked and will always look a lot like Starscream. There are many toys of Starscream and where there is a Starscream toy, a Skywarp toy soon follows.

Toys
Generation 1
* Skywarp (Decepticon Jet, 1984/1985/2001/2003/2008)
**Japanese ID number: 23
**Accessories: 2 missile launchers, 2 missiles, 2 "Machine Guns", 2 wings (left & right), 2 rudders (left & right), 2 tailfins (left & right), 2 fists (left & right), front landing gear

: The only 1984 Seeker with a deco not used previously in Takara's Diaclone line, Skywarp transforms into an F-15 Eagle fighter jet, sharing his mold with his teammates Starscream and Thundercracker. Many parts need to be removed completely for transformation from robot to jet and back, which nowadays is considered a major drawback of the toy. It is rare to find it complete, as neither mode can hold all the pieces required. There are a few minor mold variations of this toy (common for the first two years of Transformers, really), the most immediately noticeable being that early versions did not have visible "clip-tabs" on the inner face of the gauntlets.

: Early Hasbro stock photos of Skywarp show him with a plastic purple nosecone. This was changed to a soft, black rubber nosecone when the toy was actually released. However, a Mexican variant retained the purple plastic nosecone. The same stock photos also show him with purple launchers with black triggers and muzzle rings, black feet, black shins, black outer arm panels, purple horizontal stabilizers, and both sets of purple missiles. These stock photos were also later used to promote Takara's 2001 reissue.

: In 2001, Skywarp was given a short-run reissue (limited to only 1,000 pieces) by Takara as a convention-exclusive item, bundled together with Thundercracker as "Collector's Edition" Set C. The toy would later be more extensively released in 2003 as part of Hasbro's Commemorative Series series IV, though due to US toy-safety regulations, his missiles were made extra-long since his spring-loaded launchers were now fully-functional.

: In August, 2008, Skywarp was released with Thundercracker as number 11 in Takara's Transformers Encore line. For this release Skywarp's Decepticon symbols were painted and his purple stickers were changed to a much bluer shade of purple. Curiously, Skywarp's wing stripes in this release are factory-applied stickers, instead of the tampographs on his two-pack buddy.

: This mold was redecoed into Sunstorm and retooled to make Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust.

:For some reason, the stats on Skywarp's, Starscream's and Thundercracker's tech specs were switched around. Skywarp's box was given Starscream's numbers, which explains his high intelligence and rank. Hasbro's Commemorative Series Skywarp reissue had his bio rewritten to explain his higher stats.
: Sharing a mold once again with Thundercracker, Skywarp transforms into a white Dassault Rafale fighter jet with spring-loaded one-step transformation from jet to robot. The two halves of his rifle store in his lower legs. Like all Machine Wars toys, Skywarp was an exclusive to Kay-Bee stores and related stores like Toy Liquidators.

:Universe Skywarp is a redeco of Beast Machines Jetstorm in his Generation 1 colors. He transforms into a Cybertronic fighter jet, armed with two spring-loaded projectile launchers that can fire orange "energon" bolts. These launchers end up in his arms in robot mode. He has a third robot mode that collapses the legs around the cockpit (oh hush), with flip-out panels revealing an extra pair of thrusters. His spark crystal, revealed by flipping the purple hatch on his back, has a Decepticon insignia tampographed on top of it.

:Although most previous versions of the mold have the wingtips swept forward in vehicle mode, Skywarp was packaged and depicted in his instructions with the wingtips swept back. His fictional appearances, however, use the conventional arrangement shown here.

:Skywarp was also used to make Beast Machines Sonic Attack Jet, Robots in Disguise Storm Jet, and Robots in Disguise Jhiaxus.
: Smallest Transforming Transformers Skywarp was a very small-scale simplification of the original Generation 1 Seeker toy, retaining most of its functionality and accessories, except for his long null-rays. Skywarp was one of two chase figures from the first wave of the line.

: This mold was redecoed from Starscream, then re-redecoed into Thundercracker, and finally retooled to make Thrust.
: Robot Masters Skywarp is a redeco of Starscream from the same series, a smaller yet more advanced version of the original toy, adding more articulation and reducing the amount of part-forming required. He was available only in a two-pack with Thundercracker, which also came with a Decepticon sigil pin and chromed missile pods. This set was the very last product released in the Robot Masters line and wasn't even strictly sold in a box from that series; instead, it used an e-Hobby Generation 1 reissue box, with a small Robot Masters sticker in the corner tab noting its origin from the front.
Classics (2006)
* Ultra Magnus vs Skywarp: Battle For Autobot City (Multi-pack, 2006)
**Accessories: Left & right missile launchers, 2 missiles

: Classics Skywarp is a slight retool of the Classics Starscream mold, transforming into an F-15 Eagle fighter jet, though with a canopy like that of an F-14 Tomcat. He comes with a pair of spring-loaded missile launchers that can be mounted on his biceps or used as hand-held weapons in robot mode and can attach under his wings in vehicle mode. As with most Classics toys, he also features a heat-sensitive rubsign.

: Skywarp was slightly retooled from the earlier Starscream figures. The retool is present in the jet intake area. The slope of his shoulders was decreased from Starscream's, and a rectangle added to the vertical area, making the number now five instead of four. This retooled version was used for all subsequent releases of the mold: Classics Ramjet, Thundercracker, Thrust, and Dirge, as well as Acid Storm from Universe. At the end of Classics Starscream's production run, he too used this version of the mold.

: He was only available as part of a Target stores exclusive two-pack with Ultra Magnus. The set's price was $19.99, despite including both a Voyager-class and Deluxe-class mold in it, which was approximately $30 worth of toys if they'd been sold separately. He was also available in Woolworth stores throughout the United Kingdom.

: Stock photos of Classics Skywarp showed a more detailed color scheme than the actual released figure. Much like Classics Ultra Magnus, the changes were most likely due to an overabundance of Paint operations. This more detailed version was shown at 2006 and at least one sample found its way to a collector's hands. The sample also used the original Starscream mold, and not the retooled version used for every version of the mold since and even including Starscream.
* Skywarp (2007)
**Japanese ID number: MP-6
**Accessories: 2 "Machine Guns", 2 AIM missile racks, Doctor Arkeville pilot, Megatron Gun clasp, display stand

: Masterpiece Skywarp was released in Japan in September of 2007. He is a redeco of the Masterpiece Starscream mold in black, gray, silver, and purple, though the purple and silver are more minimal than usual. Skywarp is able to switch between a minimally retooled stoic face and a new snarly face, retooled from Starscream's previous smirk. The tiny Doctor Arkeville pilot figurine (this time molded black) is also included, as well as a clasp for jet-mode Skywarp to hold the gun-mode Megatron that came with Masterpiece Convoy/20th Anniversary Optimus Prime.

: The sticker sheet includes Skywarp-esque stripes, as well as several whimsical squadron markings.

:The second pressing of Masterpiece Skywarp (released in October 2008) features an assembly error: his left and right pectorals are flipped. This misassembly does not affect transformation at all, and is really only noticeable when compared to prior Masterpiece Seekers. The September 2007 pressing of Masterpiece Skywarp is assembled correctly. Masterpiece Thundercracker is misassembled as well.

:It is a common misconception that the stoic face on Takara's Masterpiece Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker are the same, when all of them are in fact different sculpts.
*Skywarp

: Skywarp was among the planned Transformers Attacktix game pieces that were showed at some conventions, but went unreleased as the line was canceled. He was to be a retool of sorts of the similarly unreleased Energon Starscream, using the same weapon and base but a brand new jet mold. Skywarp would've been able to detach from his base and fly on a string, enabling him to get better shots of opposing pieces. Any other details about his role in the game are unknown.

: Titanium Series War Within Skywarp is a redeco of Thundercracker, transforming into a Cybertronian "tetrajet" as reimagined by Don Figueroa. As with all 6-inch Titanium Cybertron Heroes, he is constructed mostly of fully painted die-cast metal. He was available only at Hasbro Toy Shop after the Titanium line had already been cancelled, and also Hasbro Toy Shop's booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2008.

: Henkei! Henkei! Skywarp is a Toy Hobby Market exclusive redeco of Henkei! Henkei! Starscream. Skywarp and his fellow Seeker Thundercracker were opened for pre-order on May 22nd through June 20, and mailed out in September 2008.

:Soon after release, there were numerous complaints from both Japanese and Western collectors about the poor quality control for both Thundercracker and Skywarp. Skywarp's most common fault was missing paint for one of his shoulders. Some reported both toys suffering misassembly issues such as having two left or two right thighs.

:Several minor changes were made to this mold for this release. The holes for his missile launchers in his arms were widened, as were the launcher's insertion pegs. The wing's missile launcher insertion points were lengthened and are now curved at the end. The last rectangle on his air intakes, was further modified from the Classics version this time the bottom most rectangle goes completely across the air intake's surface rather than just the center. Henkei! Henkei! Thundercracker and Universe Starscream also saw most of these changes.
**Accessories: 2 "Machine Guns", 2 missile racks, Doctor Arkeville pilot figurine, gun clip, two-piece display stand
: A Wal-Mart exclusive redeco of the original Masterpiece Starscream mold. Just like Starscream, Skywarp is able to switch between two different faces. This release uses the Starscream's stoic and smirking alternate faces rather than the Takara Masterpiece Skywarp's newly-tooled stoic and snarling faces. Hasbro designer Joe Kyde felt the alternate snarling face did not fit Skywarp's prankster personality, so he went with the Starscream smirk face instead when designing the deco for Hasbro's release. As a result of gang molding, Skywarp also uses Starscream's stoic face, the decision being the difference between Skywarp and Starscream's stoic face was negligible enough not to make a significant difference. The toy also features a more G1 toy styled deco rather than cartoon-based, particularly in the yellow eye color and wing stripes. His purple more closely matches that of the original toy than the purple used on the Takara version, and features a lighter flat black, like the original toy, instead of Takara's darker glossy black. The Hasbro version replaces some of the dark gray of the Takara version with a dark silver, removes the arm and chest striping, but adds additional red detailing, while removing some as well. Much like Hasbro's Starscream, he does not feature any of the warning or slogan tampographs, but features tampographed striping, Decepticon symbols, and some additional paint details not present on the Takara version.
: The tiny Doctor Arkeville pilot figurine (molded in black with no paint applications) is also included, as well as a clasp for jet-mode Skywarp to hold the gun-mode Megatron that came with Masterpiece Convoy/20th Anniversary Optimus Prime and a stand (featuring Skywarp's name) with a support beam for jet or robot mode.
Synopsis
With Ravage and his transwarp cruiser backing them up, the Predacons unleash a full assault on the Maximal base. Rattrap changes to beast mode and jumps onto the back of the transwarp cruiser, where he begins cutting into the ship's hull. On the battlefield, Optimus and Cheetor are pinned down by the Predacons' firepower, but the autoguns manage to knock Quickstrike from his perch atop Rampage and a short time later the larger Predacon runs him over.

It's not long before Ravage and Rampage bring down the base's shield, and Rhinox emerges to fire on Rampage. Ravage has Tarantulas transfer all the cruiser's power into one enormous missile. Before it can fire, Rattrap bursts into the ship's weapons hold and tosses a pair of magnetic bombs that adhere to Tarantulas's hands. The bombs obliterate Tarantulas, the ship's interior, and Ravage—who faces the onrushing fireball with a stoic cry of "Decepticons forever!" The cruiser falls out of the sky, coming to rest mere feet from Rampage—who is then blasted by the still-armed missile.

With the cruiser destroyed and his minions out of commission, Megatron flees. Optimus notes that he's not headed back to base, realizes where he's probably going, and orders the Maximals to pursue.

Meanwhile, Blackarachnia and Silverbolt make their way into the caves of the volcano, uncovering the object of Blackarachnia's quest—the Ark. Blackarachnia explains to Silverbolt that the ship was launched long ago, containing the Autobots' "finest heroes", and was shot down by Decepticons. The ship has members of both factions stored inside, who will awaken in the distant future to re-start the Great War. Blackarachnia is concerned only with the power it possesses—but Megatron arrives just then, blasting Silverbolt offline and sealing the entrance to the caves behind him.

The Maximals arrive hot on his heels, find the sealed entrance, and start digging their way in. Inside, Megatron threatens to vaporize Silverbolt, convincing Blackarachnia to use the access codes to gain access to the Ark (though she vehemently maintains it's only so they'll have some cover in the face of the imminent Maximal attack). The Maximals burst through in time to see the two Predacons sealing the Ark behind them.

Blackarachnia activates the ship's defenses to hold off the Maximals, while Megatron goes to "effect a more permanent solution." Entering the main bridge of the ship, he hovers among the fallen Autobots and Decepticons, eulogizing the Decepticons and cursing the Autobots, until he comes face to face with his intended target—Optimus Prime, the original leader of the Autobots, who kept the Decepticons from victory (and therefore left their Predacon descendants in a subservient position to the dominant Maximals). Though the risk is incredible, Megatron decides to carry out his namesake's instructions, charges his main weapon, and prepares to fire.

In the caves, the Maximals are pelted by fire from the ship's cannon, until Rattrap manages to force a backblast that deactivates the cannon and shields. Rhinox struggles to open the mighty doors of the Ark. But the Maximals are too late—Megatron unleashes a full-power blast at Optimus Prime's head, destroying it.

A time storm immediately wells up, spreading outward from the Ark and into space. The Maximals find themselves phasing in and out of past bodies—as well as out of existence—as Megatron emerges from the Ark, triumphant.
"Now I enter these hallowed halls...a conquerer...yesss. Autobots and Decepticons, still frozen in emergency stasis, awaiting the moment, four million years hence, when they will awaken to start the Great War. Hmmm, a Great War, when the Autobots defeated the Decepticons, and thus their descendants, the Maximals, rule we Predacons. Archaic energon guzzlers! How dare they? Unwilling though I was to follow my namesake's instructions, it has all come down to this: the ultimate risk, for the ultimate prize. ==Notes==
Animation and technical errors
* During the opening battle scene, Optimus Primal takes several shots to the chest, leaving it blackened and dented. In the shot of the Maximals watching Ravage's ship explode, his chest is undamaged-and then it goes back to damaged as he talks about why Ravage betrayed them.
* After Ravage's ship goes down and the Maximals decide to chase after Megatron, Optimus transforms to flight mode. His front, back, and upper torso are all messed up, to the point that he has to spin around a few times after transforming. (While this is happening, the scene mostly switches to Rattrap climbing on Cheetor.) Optimus is normal again when he tells Rhinox to "Get on."
* In the first close-up of Megatron's face in the volcano (after he shoots Silverbolt and Blackarachnia), his face is very dark-almost black.
* After Megatron blasts the entrance shut and the Maximals get off and find it covered, for a split second, the colors on Rattrap's wheels (on his back) and his rat legs are reversed.

Continuity errors
* This episode called into sudden question the location of the Maximal and Predacon bases. The events of "Code of Hero" seem to place the series firmly somewhere in Africa, where early Humanity evolved; the templates for the Maximals' beast modes (gorillas, cheetahs, rhinos) would seem to back this up. However, the Ark is traditionally seen to have crashed in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. If this is the case, the Maximals pursued Megatron across the Atlantic Ocean and over an entire continent! Even if the Ark touched down in Africa in this continuity, in "Possession", Starscream's spark is clearly shown landing in the southwest United States. Also, the early humans still appear after any theoretical "crossing of the Atlantic" took place.
* Either way, it doesn't make much sense that the Maximals make no attempt to shoot down Megatron while he's still on the run, rather than waiting till he reaches his destination. In his defense, Optimus may have thought that they were at a disadvantage during the chase: Only Rattrap is in any position to attack (Optimus and Cheetor being in flight mode and Rhinox probably having enough problems balancing on Optimus's hoverboard), and Megatron would be hard to hit (he's pretty far away, and not presenting much of a target from Rattrap's position). Of course, that still doesn't explain why Optimus doesn't just let Cheetor and Rattrap fly ahead and get a better shot—after all, a later episode would prove that the espionage expert has pretty good aim even when hitching a flight.
* At the end of the previous episode, Megatron was standing on the "back" of Ravage's ship as it opened fire on the Maximals, but at the start of this one, he's hovering above it as it attacks (of course, it is possible that a few moments have passed, and Megatron simply took to the air).
* Ravage was in his cassette mode in the ship at the end of last episode, but is piloting it from the cockpit in this one. Given the nature of the former mode as essentially fanservice, this may not be terribly surprising.

Transformers references
*In reference to the strength of the Ark, Rattrap claims, "That ship wasn't built, it was poured!" Primal replies "Die-cast construction. It's a lost art," in homage to the original Transformer toys, which featured some die-cast parts.
*We get to see the Ark launch from Cybertron, along with a brief glimpse of Optimus Prime, Prowl, Jazz, Ratchet and Ironhide moving about, as well as a glimpse of the Nemesis attacking the Ark.
*The final act features a bonanza of cameo appearances by the original Generation 1 Transformers, including Prowl, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ironhide, Thundercracker, Soundwave, and Starscream.

Real-world references
* Rattrap refers to his vehicle mode as Knievel mode, a reference to Evel Knievel.
* When Rattrap's torch goes out and he has to break through the ship with his beast mode's teeth, he calls himself the Stainless Steel Rat.
* During the short fight between Rhinox and Rampage, Rhinox dives through the air firing his guns in a homage to The Killer.
* As Rattrap rides the missile connected with Ravage's ship, he lets out a cowboy yell. This is an homage to Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
* Blackarachnia refers to Silverbolt as "Jo-Jo", possibly in reference to Jo-Jo the Dog-Faced Boy.

Trivia
*Despite every other multi-part episode in Beast Wars using Arabic numerals in its title (including the first two parts of "The Agenda"), this episode opts for the Roman numeral for whatever reason.
* Megatron, to no one's surprise, is perfectly willing to sacrifice most of his team to defeat the Maximals. Blackarachnia, Inferno, Quickstrike, and Rampage were all originally Maximal protoforms (or, in Rampage's case, the product of Maximal science). If his plan to destroy the Autobots and Maximals retroactively had worked, he would have been left with a team consisting of Waspinator and Tarantulas. (Tarantulas's precise origins are unclear, but he's definitely not a descendant of the Autobots.)
*In any event, Megatron's plan would seem to be temporally problematic, since such a drastic change could've wiped out the Predacons (and himself) just as easily as the Maximals. Small wonder he "was reluctant to follow my namesake's instructions" and regards it as "the ultimate risk". Megatron's ending in the Beast Wars Transmetals video game further elaborates on this, stating that with Optimus Prime dead, there would be no Matrix, and, as such, nothing to stop Unicron from destroying Cybertron, an act that would wipe out Autobots and Decepticons.
*Apparently, Rhinox is afraid of heights. While sitting on Primal's hoverboard, he looks straight ahead, occasionally looking down and immediately snapping straight up with what looks like pure horror on his face.
*This episode marks the commencement of an ongoing error, whereby Teletraan I is frequently pronounced "Teletron 1". The issue is resolved with extreme subtlety in "Nemesis Part 2".
*The word "suckers" is written on the giant missile in Cybertronix.
*Bob Forward had originally intended to make Rattrap chew all the way through Ravage's ship in beast mode, rather than using a laser cutter first. In a sly remark on Madman's commentary of the episode, he states "My version would have been cheaper!"

:Starscream is a Decepticon from the Aligned continuity family.

Starscream was an Air Commander of the Seekers, Cybertron's finest air warriors. His dream was to recover the Matrix of Leadership and become the Prime that would return the Transformers to the Golden Age, and he saw opportunity with the rebel upstart Megatron. A patient and polite schemer, Starscream used to wish Megatron would drop the heroic anti-caste charade and be more honest about his lust for power.

These days, he alternatively wishes Megatron would stop being obsessed with his lust for power and chafes under having to work for such a madman. While he serves as Megatron's right-hand man, he constantly looks for a way to become the commander himself and Megatron knows it: Starscream's extremely volatile personality means he is not adept at hiding his true intent. Fortunately for Megatron, Starscream is prone to panic, cowardice and bombastic gestures, meaning that it'd take exceptional circumstances for Screamer to actually manage to get behind him to shove the knife in.

He may be a scientist, but we're not quite sure.
Fiction
Exodus: The History of the War for Cybertron
Starscream may or may not have had a history as a scientist. Regardless of what he did prior, in the early days before the war began he was one of the leaders of the Cybertronian Air Command. When Cybertron fell into chaos following bombings by Megatron's Decepticon followers, Starscream was posted as Sentinel Prime's bodyguard. He was with the Prime at Altihex Casino during a performance by comedian Armorhide when the Decepticons attacked. Sentinel's attempt to flee rather than fight back made Starscream ashamed of his leader, so he had Skywarp and Thundercracker take him to Kaon Prison rather than the safety of Iacon. This earned him loyalty with Megatron, but wary of how sour a revolution could quickly turn Starscream opted not to be directly involved in the gladiator's operations, posting his Seekers at Moon Base One and Trypticon Station. Megatron was intrigued by why Starscream wanted to occupy "that semi-sentient pile of junk" but despite Orion Pax's research they found no clues, with information regarding the Station seemingly censored.

Whenever Starscream's Seekers were present, the Decepticons were victorious in battle against the Autobots. Starscream however, found Megatron's strategies overly convoluted. As the war devolved into a siege of Iacon, Megatron and Soundwave, by probing into forgotten areas of the DataNet, discovered Trypticon was a storage of Dark Energon, the life essence of Unicron. When questioned, Starscream explained since even the Air Command was not sure what Dark Energon was, he had forbidden its use, fearing the damage Megatron's gladiators would unleash. Megatron forgave Starscream, noting how he "was smart enough to be afraid of it", and was granted access.

Starscream sent a message to the Autobots proposing a meeting. Optimus only granted him a communication channel. Starscream stated if the Autobots did not know what Dark Energon was (they did) they would need to find out — and asked what would he could expect from them if something happened to Megatron. Optimus replied that he sought a just peace. Starscream said he understood, broke off the conversation and flew to Kaon Prison where Sentinel was held. Starscream offered Sentinel a chance to redeem his cowardly behavior at Altihex. The ultimate aim of this road to becoming Decepticon leader was to become Prime in a peace settlement with Optimus, and lead Cybertron back to its Golden Age. Starscream then flew to Moon Base One when Megatron ordered him to Trypticon, where he found the Decepticons had invaded the Station and slaughtered and maimed his scientists.

Megatron and Shockwave forced Starscream to select two survivors to absorb Dark Energon, for what was a successful experiment. Requiring more for the Decepticon war effort, Megatron ordered Starscream to capture the Geosynchronous Energon Bridge, below the ruins of Crystal City. Empowered by his first taste of Dark Energon, Starscream activated the device that transmitted Energon to the Station for it to be Darkened. But the Bridge still did not produce enough, and Starscream was ordered to find the Code Key of Power and Key of Justice to the Plasma Energy Chamber underneath the High Council Tower in Iacon. Starscream decided it was time to release Sentinel, renouncing Dark Energon after realizing Megatron had turned his soldiers into addicts. Starscream found the Key of Power within the Hall of Justice and flew underground to find his plan had failed, as Megatron had mortally wounded Sentinel. He could see within Sentinel's body was the Key of Justice, but was prevented from taking it by Blackout. Megatron fought Starscream to a standstill, sparing him because he realized he was a better soldier than a would-be example.

As Megatron entered the Chamber, Teletraan-1 activated the legendary Omega Supreme to fly it away. Aware Starscream had a better chance of escaping Omega's awakening, Megatron ordered Starscream and his Seekers to down Omega, in exchange for more Dark Energon. Giving up on his attempt to give up his addiction, Starscream gleefully accepted and they successfully blew Omega out of the sky, allowing the Decepticons to retrieve the Chamber and corrupt the core. As Cybertron became uninhabitable, the Autobots left on the largest starship ever built - the Ark. Starscream left the planet with Megatron as they gave pursuit on Trypticon, now a Nemesis-class supercruiser. The two ships entered a space bridge, which separated the two ships to unknown parts of space... Exodus: The Official History of the War for Cybertron

Starscream had been on Earth at some point, but was assigned by Megatron to scour the galaxy for remnants of space bridge technology. Returning to their dead homeworld, Starscream built a weapons lab in Kaon and began building a space bridge. He was informed by his Eradicons elsewhere they had apprehended the Autobot spy Cliffjumper. Later, after basking in the glory of successfully activating the space bridge that would return them to Earth and its Energon, Starscream realized Cliffjumper was present. The Autobot claimed to be freed by his captors after defecting to the Decepticons, and warned them of Arcee: this ruse successfully distracted Starscream long enough for Arcee to activate and overload the space bridge, but he jumped in after them moments before the lab was blown sky high.

Falling to Earth, a dazed Starscream picked up a bunny rabbit, commenting that humans were smaller than he remembered. Scanning a fleet of jets flying overhead, he found Cliffjumper and Arcee driving on a road and launched a missile at them. He picked up Arcee's blown off arm and started battering Cliffjumper with it, but the Autobot blew up the rock formation above them and crushed Starscream with the rubble. Having received Starscream's signal, Breakdown came to his rescue, and the duo pursued and overwhelmed the Autobots. Just as Starscream was about to send them back to the AllSpark, Optimus jumped and landed on him, while gunning Breakdown away. As Starscream greeted his opponent, Bumblebee tapped him on the shoulder and sent him flying. Optimus opted not to finish the job, allowing Starscream to escape and fight another day as he got Cliffjumper and Arcee to base. Transformers: Prime (comic)

Megatron had left Earth for the depths of space three years ago, leaving Starscream in charge. Starscream spent his time sending out Decepticon grunts to search for Energon deposits, and managed to set up a lucrative energon mine in secret. Darkness Rising, Part 2 One energon search was intercepted by the Autobot Cliffjumper. Once Cliffjumper was defeated, Starscream had him brought aboard his ship, where his captive asked where Megatron was. Assuring the defeated Autobot that he was his own master, he stabbed Cliffjumper with his fist, causing the Autobot to bleed out and finally succumb to his wounds. Soundwave played back a transmission of Cliffjumper and Arcee's last conversation, and Starscream declared she would be their next target, sending two drones after her.

Later, Soundwave picked up deep space transmissions, and a hesitant Starscream opened the space bridge for Megatron's return. Darkness Rising, Part 1 Welcoming him to his energon mine, Starscream asked (quite snarkily) whether Megatron had raised a new army in his three year absence. His leader replied he had recovered Dark Energon, the blood of Unicron himself, to the Seeker's concern; then he asked if Starscream were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, to test its abilities to raise the dead. Starscream declined his unhinged commander's request, offering Cliffjumper's corpse for the experiment. It resulted in a rabid zombie whose rampage was only stopped by Megatron slicing it in half: Starscream was left confused and unnerved by the idea Megatron intended to weaponise such things.

The zombie's activation made the Autobots think Cliffjumper was alive and they raided Starscream's energon mine to find it. Starscream reported this to Megatron, upset about losing the place, and was ordered to his annoyance to bomb the mine: Megatron believed Optimus survived, however. Feeling he had not spent enough time exploring Dark Energon's secrets, he promptly stabbed a shard into his spark, and Starscream looked in horror as a purple light infused Megatron's body... Darkness Rising, Part 2
With the success of the experiment, Megatron took off for parts unknown, leaving Starscream in charge once more. Starscream confided in Soundwave that he thought Megatron had gone a bit batty, and Soundwave responded by playing a sound byte of their master's last order. When Soundwave later picked up Agent Fowler's transmissions, Starscream ordered the human be brought to him. This done, he attempted to interrogate Fowler, who responded not only responded with sarcasm but demanded to see the "manager". Starscream, enraged, called for an energon prod. He offered Fowler one last chance, and when it was thrown back in his face, Starscream began jabbing Fowler with the prod, noting that energon and the human nervous system shouldn't mix.Darkness Rising, Part 3

The torture eventually weakened Fowler to the point where he almost gave the location of the Autobot's base. However, the sound of battle outside brought about a bout of sarcasm. An annoyed Starscream shocked Fowler into unconsciousness before ordering a pair of Vehicons to find the source of the commotion. After Fowler regained consciousness, he proved to be dazed and incapable of answering anything. When Bulkhead and Bumblebee arrived and aimed their guns at Starscream, the 'Con in turn threatened to kill Fowler, only to discover that Arcee was perched above him, aiming her gun at his head. A stand off ensued, until another outburst by Fowler distracted Starscream, allowing the Autobots to fire on him. Realizing his disadvantage, Starscream fled. Once Megatron returned to the ship, he was outraged at Starscream's actions and proceeded to beat his subordinate for "delaying his plans". Starscream managed to quell his master's anger by announcing he had a way to get their plans back on course. Darkness Rising, Part 4

As it turned out, his plan was to send Soundwave down to use a radio dish array on Earth to set the space bridge's target. He kept a close eye on the team of Autobots who had appeared on the space bridge, confiding in Megatron that he thought they were up to something. When the space bridge appeared to veer off course, he contacted Soundwave to find out what was going on. Once the technical difficulties were sorted, Starscream opened the space bridge so that Megatron could throw the chunk of Dark Energon though. Starscream moved the ship back to a safe distance when the fighting on the rim of the space bridge became more intense, while imploring his master to withdraw as well. Alas, the space bridge exploded, apparently taking Megatron with it, and Starscream gave a brief eulogy before declaring himself leader. Darkness Rising, Part 5

Hiding his joy at Megatron's demise, Starscream gave a speech to the troops, only for it to receive a lukewarm reception at best. Recalling that the Decepticons had left warriors on Earth to guard the energon deposits, Starscream took Soundwave to locate one. They found and reactivated Skyquake, but to Starscream's disappointment, the newly-awakened Decepticon was not keen on accepting him as leader and belted him aside when the opportunity came to attack Optimus Prime. Starscream still believed he could salvage the situation if Skyquake successfully killed Prime under his watch, however a signal Soundwave detected coming from the location of the space bridge explosion meant a reluctant Starscream had to go and check it out. He found Megatron's body floating in space, having barely survived the explosion by virtue of the Dark Energon infusion. Starscream ripped the sliver of Dark Energon from him, but then realised he was being observed by Soundwave's drone, and was forced to take Megatron back to the sick bay on the Nemesis. Along with the news that Skyquake had been defeated by the Autobots, it was not a good day for Starscream. Masters & Students

Starscream's next plan, conceived when Soundwave detected a transmission from Wheeljack, was to have Makeshift masquerade as the Autobot and infiltrate the Autobot base in order to learn its whereabouts. Starscream paid a visit to the now-captive Wheeljack, who almost managed to goad Starscream into killing him. Soundwave stopped the killing blow, reminding Starscream that Wheeljack might be useful later. The two Decepticons retired to the upper hull to wait for Makeshift to activate the ground bridge, but while Starscream grew steadily impatient, Wheeljack broke free and climbed up to attack him. The ground bridge opened and Wheeljack stormed through, but Starscream's order to his Vehicon troops came too late, as the ground bridge closed. It opened again a short time later and Makeshift was thrown through, landing on Starscream. Starscream hoped Makeshift had at least discovered the base's location. Makeshift didn't get a chance to say, as Starscream spotted that the Autobots had triggered the grenade on his waist and flew off before it exploded. Con Job

After Soundwave picked up on another Autobot operation, Starscream figured it was a good opportunity to get rid of the Autobots while they were distracted, and sent a squadron of Vehicons on a search and destroy mission. Convoy (episode)

To Starscream's discomfort, the crew held a vote and he was obliged to call in Knock Out and Breakdown to aid in Megatron's recovery. The discovery that an Energon Harvester was located in an museum on Earth as all the excuse Starscream needed to put that on hold, and the other Decepticons soon obtained the device for him. He took it to Greece to try it out on an energon vein Breakdown had found there. When Knock Out tried to correct him on who had supplied the device, Starscream icily demonstrated its effectiveness on a passing Vehicon. When Bulkhead attacked them, Starscream turned the device on him as well, but then Bulkhead punched him in the face and broke the Harvester. When the rest of the Autobots arrived, and being ditched by Knock Out and Breakdown, Starscream fled. Deus ex Machina

For the last thousand years of the Great War, Starscream was in charge of an orbital facility that had the capability of producing Dark Energon, though they maintained only a small stockpile because of its unpredictable and uncontrollable nature. The station's force of neutral soldiers were no match for Megatron's invading forces, while Starscream and Jetfire's repeated warnings that no one could control Dark Energon had no effect on Megatron's determination. Instead, Megatron tempted Starscream with knowledge of his past, reminding him of his demotion from Sky Commander to a mere guard over an all-but-derelict station, and offered to let him join the Decepticons, something Starscream scoffed at--at least, at first. Starscream attempted to destroy the station's stock of Dark Energon before the Decepticon leader could reach it, but failed, and watched, first with amusement as Megatron entered the storage chamber...and then with shock as Megatron infused himself with the substance and bent it to his will within moments. Starscream quickly volunteered his services for the Decepticon cause, causing Jetfire to label him a traitor and leave to warn Zeta Prime. Megatron sent him with Thundercracker and Skywarp to Cybertron to reactivate the Energon Bridge. Starscream performed the mission successfully using his trademark style, flair, and modesty, never mind Megatron's taunting and unreasonable impatience, or Thundercracker's warning him of the danger of certain courses of action, or even Skywarp's cluing in to his constant insults...

During the Battle of Iacon City, Starscream led the Decepticons aerial squadrons and Brawl led the Decepticons' ground assault, while Megatron, Soundwave, and Breakdown went behind enemy lines and tried to secure the Omega Key. When Megatron's group met up with Brawl, Starscream refused to send Dark Energon bombers, saying that he wouldn't let Brawl waste anymore of "his ships". Megatron took issue with Starscream dubbing the bombers his, and overrode Starscream's refusal. Later that evening, while looking for the "real" Omega Key, they ran into it: Omega Supreme. Starscream assumed Megatron was killed when Omega attacked a dropship Megatron was heading for and declared himself Decepticon commander. Shortly afterward, Megatron managed to communicate with Starscream and ordered him to attack Omega Supreme, getting the massive Autobot off of Megatron's back. By the time Megatron's group were heading for the Ion turrets, Starscream was ready to sound a retreat, which Megatron overrode with the threat of marking any retreating Decepticon as "kill on sight". Fortunately, Megatron arrived moments later and managed to defeat Omega Supreme, making the retreat unnecessary.

As the Battle of Iacon continued, Starscream fought through Jetfire and Silverbolt, and attacked Optimus's group in the Decagon. However, the Air Commander was injured by Optimus's Energon-axe and forced to retreat. The wound was apparently bad enough to cause him to sit out the remainder of the conflict. Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)
Starscream had been in control of Trypticon Space Station for years, until Megatron and his forces invaded. Megatron wished to revive the Dark Energon project to aid him in his conquest of Cybertron, but Starscream would have none of it. Megatron was able to fight his way to Starscream himself, and after a brief battle, Starscream had lost. He begged for mercy, and Megatrons spared Starscream in exchange for loyalty to the Decepticons. Starscream obliged and Megatron was taken to the core of the station.

After a test run of the Dark Energon's effects on Decepticons in Kaon Prison, Soundwave deduced the element would only destroy the host. A furious Megatron set Starscream to work on fixing the problem, with Starscream continuously bickering with Barricade over his usefullness. The problem was eventually solved in time for an attack on Iacon City. When Megatron felled Zeta Prime and found the Omega Key, the titanic Autobot Omega Supreme was unleashed upon the Decepticons, quickly crushing them with ease.

Megatron was downright furious with Starscream, declaring he had brought Omega Supreme's rampage upon them all. Starscream retorted that if it wasn't for Megatron and his blind troops, none of this would've happened. Starscream invited Megatron to kill him, but warned him it wouldn't do a thing about Omega Supreme out for their blood. Megatron for the moment let it go, and finally felled Omega Supreme, gaining total dominance over Cybertron.

Sometime later, Starscream ambushed an Autobot recruit-in-training, and would've killed him if it wasn't for Optimus charging to the rescue. He wasn't seen again after that.
The Dark of the Moon toyline will coincide with the third film in Michael Bay's live-action film series. The line is divided into three brandings: the Mechtech line for Deluxe, Voyager and Leader class size toys; the Cyberverse subline featuring Legends Class characters and play sets; and Robo Power, a catch all line for various merchandise including role play. The lines hit stores on May 16 2011.
