The Dinobots are a rough-and-tumble group of Mini-Con warriors who are at their best in harsh environments. Allied with the Autobots, whenever a mission is set in a dangerous jungle or festering swamp, the Dinobots are the ones to handle it!

The Mini-Con Dinobots consist of...

*Hacksaw a stegosaurus and the team leader
*Knockdown a triceratops
*Terrorsaur a tyrannosaurus rex
*Swoop a pteranodon

Marvel Comics continuity
Generation 1
Swoop originated as a bulk, serving Optimus Prime as part of the original crew of the Ark where he was rebuilt into a pteranodon. The Last Stand He had many adventures as a part of Grimlock's Dinobots until he was critically injured by an Underbase-powered Starscream. Dark Star (issue) He spent much time off-line until he was restored by Grimlock using Nucleon just in time to participate in the battle against Unicron. On the Edge of Extinction!

Classics
Hacksaw, Knockdown, and Terrorsaur were among the many Mini-Cons created by the Last Autobot for the purpose of restoring Cybertron. Together they were the Dinobots, a fierce team of warriors that worked to clear Cybertron's underworld of mutants. Until his untimely death, Hacksaw served both as leader of the Dinobots and as second-in-command to Mini-Con leader Modus Prime. The New World

After the defeat of Bludgeon's forces, the already nucleon-infused Swoop was caught in a titanic explosion at a nucleon-processing plant and was drastically mutated. The quick reaction of the Autobot Mini-Cons saved him and boom; Mini-Con Swoop was born. Games of Deception
: The whole set of molds was used to make Ransack, Windrazor and Stockade from the Battle Support Team component of the Universe Mini-Cons 10-pack.
Notes
*Hacksaw was an original, non-toy character created for the Collector's Club prose story, The New World. His addition was made for story reasons, as the origin of the Classics Mini-Cons presented in that piece was somewhat incompatible with Classics Swoop being the original G1 Dinobot.
:Brimstone is a Jungle Planet Decepticon from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Brimstone isn't much for thinking. He's more comfortable taking orders from his leader Scourge, but when left on his own, would rather simply follow Undermine's lead. He really enjoys his position as one of Scourge's right-claw mechs, since it gives him an unrivaled opportunity to beat people up without reprisal.

About the only thing Brimstone's brain is good for is playing Praxus Fold 'Em. He and Undermine typically play during quiet nights in the Jungle Temple, with chores as the high stakes.

:Japanese name: Terashaver
:Voice Actor: Terry Klassen (English), Yasuyuki Kase (Japanese)

Brimstone was a denizen of Jungle Planet, one of Scourge's acolytes who joined him during his quest to enforce peace on Jungle Planet by any means necessary. Honor In the present, he attended to Scourge's needs at the Jungle Temple. Although Brimstone missed Megatron's arrival, he was present to observe a sparring match between Megatron and Scourge, and was impressed by the Decepticon's control and power. Deep Later, Brimstone was going for a walk in the park with his friends when some loudmouthed Humvee had to challenge Scourge's strength. Never a good idea. Race Brimstone and Undermine watched eagerly as Scourge pounded on Overhaul and didn't notice Snarl sneak off to help the interloper. When Overhaul returned for a second match, Scourge initially said he couldn't be bothered to fight the Autobot. He changed his tune after Brimstone and Undermine were battered aside by Overhaul as proof of his worthiness in battle. Detour (episode)

When Optimus Prime arrived on Jungle Planet, Brimstone journeyed out to confront the Autobot leader with Scourge. Unwilling to negotiate with anyone who hadn't proved their strength in battle, Scourge demanded that the Autobots and Decepticons fight before he heard any more about the Cyber Planet Key quest. Brimstone and Undermine kept Snarl and Backstop out of the contest at first, but soon it broke into a free-for-all with the Jungle Planet residents each aiding the Autobot and Decepticon camps. Savage (episode) As Scourge's entourage met the Autobots again in a narrow canyon, Brimstone matched his vanadium wing blades against Backstop's horn. Sand

As Optimus Prime came to Scourge's temple to once again ask for the Cyber Planet Key, Brimstone watched guardedly from the sidelines. The Jungle Planet warriors openly mocked Optimus for his refusal to fight for what he wanted and for battling with his own arm in Savage Claw Mode, as Leobreaker bristled for combat. Later on, Brimstone and Undermine tried to prevent Backstop from entering the temple until Scourge granted his old sensei an audience. It seemed Optimus Prime had changed his mind and would now meet Scourge for battle at a time and place of his choosing. Honor Brimstone and Undermine aided Scourge as he began to train vigorously for the match. He had himself chained to the temple pillars while still fighting off attacks by his subordinates. Eventually, Brimstone and Undermine called it quits, because even a handicapped Scourge was too much for them. Once Prime arrived at the temple, he introduced them to the ambassadors from other worlds threatened by the black hole: Override of Velocitron and Lori of Earth. Brimstone was curious about the pint-sized creature and moved in for a closer look. Primal

After Optimus Prime defeated Scourge in battle, he claimed the Cyber Planet Key, but allowed Scourge to remain the ruler of Jungle Planet. Scourge, Brimstone and Undermine remained uninvolved in the conflict that followed as the Decepticons attempted to steal back the Cyber Planet Key from the Autobots. Trust (Cybertron)

As Primus continued his efforts to hold back the expansion of the black hole, Brimstone, Undermine and Backstop were seen warily regarding the singularity from Jungle Planet. City The black hole's spatial turbulence had begun to upset the local weather and environment of various planets it threatened. On the already unstable Jungle Planet, the effects were even more pronounced, and Brimstone had trouble even staying aloft during a massive monsoon. He was struck by lightning in mid-air and would've tumbled into an open lava vein if Backstop hadn't leapt over the crevasse and caught him as he fell. Brimstone gave thanks to the elderly rhinoceros, but mused darkly about whether he'd ever get the chance to return the favor before the universe came to an end. Challenge

When Galvatron claimed the full power of the Omega Lock and the four Cyber Planet Keys, he communed with the black hole itself and decided to make Jungle Planet his first target. Tendrils of dark energy pulled the entire planet through the Space Bridge to the site of the black hole. This had cataclysmic results for the planet, and Brimstone passed along the favor Backstop did him earlier by saving Undermine from a nasty fall into the lava. (He did drop a few snarky comments about the spinosaurus's weight, though.) All was not lost, however, as Scourge returned to lead his people to safety, and they escaped the dying planet aboard the Ogygia and the newly rediscovered starship of Jungle Planet, the Hyperborea. Scourge rallied Brimstone and his warrior-like people to the Autobot cause, and they all pledged themselves to defend Cybertron and the universe at Optimus Prime's command. Homecoming (episode)

In the fight against Galvatron's minions, Brimstone and Undermine attacked the super-sized Thunderblast. They might have stood a chance if they hadn't called her a cow. A boy cow. Not smart. End After Galvatron was defeated and the black hole closed, Brimstone and the denizens of Jungle Planet worked alongside the Autobots to construct planetary thrusters to move their world back through the Space Bridge and into its normal orbit again. Unfinished

Life after the black hole settled into a new routine. A championship of strength was held to re-establish the proper leadership of Jungle Planet, and Brimstone and Undermine cheered from the sidelines as Scourge defeated Leobreaker and rescued his rule of their homeworld. They were slightly chagrined, however, when they heard Scourge declare there would be no more meaningless fighting. Perhaps at Scourge's request, Brimstone joined the Space Bridge project aboard the Lemuria under Metroplex's command, representing Jungle Planet. Although he still seemed a bit contemptuous of those who couldn't fly, Brimstone allowed himself to be shooed away by Red Alert and joined up with Undermine before the launch of the starships towards their new destiny. Beginning
Fractyl soon discovered Furmanite is actually anti-energon, a substance that could destroy the entire planet if it were exposed to high concentrations of energon. Fractyl risked both an encounter with the Maximals and the wrath of Megatron to catch Packrat before he went boom. He was able to reason with the Maximals and remove the Furmanite from Packrat, and even managed to make it look to the Predacons like he had driven off the Maximals single-handedly. Go, Fractyl. Ground Zero
Universe: Featuring the Wreckers
Having joined the Wreckers under circumstances so far untold, Fractyl tagged along with Primal Prime, Rodimus and Spittor to try and coax Arcee out of her sulking emo phase deep in the caves of Cybertron, where she went shortly after the death of Daniel Witwicky. When the other Wreckers left frustrated and disappointed because Arcee wouldn't play with them, Fractyl stayed behind to talk, relating how he too had lost a good friend (presumably Vice Grip). He was then nearly killed by Blastcharge, but was saved by Arcee and the power of love. Fractyl later showed up in his shiny new body and paid Blastcharge back by slicing him in half. He used his new, jet-powered beast form to bring Arcee to the Wreckers' shuttle, which was already in the process of blasting off and leaving Cybertron. Departure

His victory was short-lived, though, as his seemingly buggy new body shorted out during a fight with Devcon in the cargo hold of the Wreckers' shuttle. With no medic on board, Apelinq created a drone called CatSCAN to fill in. Fractyl was put into stasis for several cycles. Betrayal

After the Wreckers re-entered Cybertron's atmosphere, an emergency evacuation forced the crew to pull Fractyl and Rotorbolt out of their stasis. Rotorbolt came out more or less recovered, but Fractyl was still unconscious and in critical condition. While Rotorbolt considered putting Fractyl out of his misery, Tigatron intervened by using the last of his Vok-derived abilities to heal him. Fractyl, a geologist, was ironically out-of-action for the duration of the Wreckers' pursuit of the Divine Light. Once he was again operable, he was able to use his talents to analyze the prism-like object and give information to allow the Wreckers a victory over Cryotek. However, this victory had a terrible cost. At the battle's end, Arcee and Fractyl departed to bury the body of Rodimus in a secret underground Autobot burial site. Wreckers: Finale Part II
IDW Comics
Fractyl attended the Predacon military academy, being viciously bullied all the while. Though he barely graduated, he served under Megatron, and produced enough scientific gadgets to make-up for his lack of battle prowess. Beast Wars Sourcebook

:Fractyl is a green, gray, and gold redeco of the original Basic-class Terrorsaur, transforming into a large, organic Pteranodon with a spring-loaded, one-step transformation to robot mode. His green plastic was given a sparkly sheen to simulate the "energon armor" effect from the accompanying comic book. He came packaged with Packrat and was sold exclusively at 1997.
Terrorsaur is an obnoxious, loud-mouthed thug who no one likes. But he also happens to be a coolly-effective warrior on the battlefield, which is the only reason why his Decepticon comrades tolerate him. Of course, they'd never actually tell him he's a natural in the ways of combat. That'd just reinforce Terrorsaur's already over-blown ego.
: A redeco and retooling of the Beast Wars Transmetal Terrorsaur, Terrorsaur transforms into a robotic Pteranodon. : This mold was also used to make Beast Machines Terranotron. It was also used as the non-toy model for the Transmetal form of Fractyl and the mutated form of Ravenus.
Notes
* Terrorsaur's toy does not use the same tooling as the previous iteration of the mold, Terranotron. That version added a spark crystal to the twin engines in the back, which Armada Terrorsaur lacks. The non-toy character Ravenus uses a combination of the two, having both Powerlinx plugs and the spark crystal (used to represent his "Doomstone").
