'''And Mirage blames his teammates.'''<br>
'''A schism 'twixt friends!'''

==Detailed synopsis==

The Spychangers battle against the Predacon goons, who have stolen some precious plutonium. But during the battle, a second Darkscream appears, so Mirage, revealing the entire battle had been in a training simulation, decides to end the exercise. As Mirage leaves, REV gives Mirage a brief quiz on hand signals.

Meanwhile, the real Predacons have created an electronic bug to track and listen to any Autobot they place it on.

Dorrie Dutton broadcasts from the International Exposition center where she gives exposition about the world's largest ruby, which could be used in a giant "laser". Koji catches the news, and being a bright lad, figures the Predacons would likely want to steal the Ruby (As it happens, he's entirely correct). Prime agrees with Koji's suspicions and sends the Spychangers to keep an eye on the precious gem.

During the night, things play out as predicted and the Predacon Trio try to steal the Ruby. The Spychangers show up to stop them, and during the fight, none of the Spychangers notice Darkscream place the tiny tracking bug on Mirage, who is positioned on top of a building as a sniper. Gas Skunk exhales blinding gas so he and he cronies can vamoose, and Mirage is unable to open fire on the three because he's afraid of hitting a chemical plant and causing collateral damage. So the Predacons get away with the ruby.

From the safety of their own base, the Predacons listen in on the Spychangers. Rather than explain that he didn't want to hit the power plant, Mirage just quits the team. Later, at the Autobot base, T-AI brings up Mirage on a video screen, but he hangs up on his former teammates.

Ironhide and Mirage meet in person at the Exposition Center, and Ironhide gives Mirage another chance to explain why he let the Predacons get away. But while Mirage doesn't explain, Ironhide figures it out on his own. Mirage continues to badmouth his former teammates, and after being punched by Ironhide, he notices the listening device placed upon him by Darkscream. Mirage continues to express that he doesn't care about the rest of the Autobots, but at the same time, he waves his arms in an odd and dramatic fashion. Knowing the Predacons are listening, Mirage mentions that he's considering joining up with the other team. (Hearing the friendship ruined, Sky-Byte is brought to tears). When the Predacons report to Megatron, Megatron agrees that Mirage should be recruited.

Mirage fills up on gas, passing by the usual civilian company. Away the the station, he passes by the Predacon trio, who invite him onto their side. He agrees to join the Predacons to get back at the Spychangers. Later, Sky-Byte shows Mirage the "Mega-Laser." The "Mega-Laser" is highly sophisticated and powerful. Mirage is impressed when a demonstration of the "Laser" destroys a mountain.

Not revealing his betrayal, Mirage invites the other Spychangers and invites the Autobots to come help him stop the Predacons from using the "Mega-Laser" he's discovered. The Spychangers join Mirage at the location of the "Laser" while the Predacons hide and wait for the proper moment to take action. Mirage greets his former friends with dramatic, foreshadowed arm movements. Ironhide relishes that Mirage is silently using arm signals to communicate to the other Spychangers in a manner the Predacons don't understand.

At the end of a finger countdown, the Spychangers all turn together blast the Predacons out of their hiding space, and Mirage fires the laser control out of Sky-Byte's hand. Mirage shows the Ironhide and the Spychangers the bug he discovered the Predacons had placed on him. Before the team can hug and make up, the laser fires again - clearly there was more than one detonator. To destroy the laser, the Global Space Bridge is wrapped around it and the Spychangers circle around the laser and direct it's blast back at Megatron's hovering base.

With the Predacon's scheme finished, the Spychangers apologize to Mirage. Ironhide asks Mirage to hit him back to make the two even for Ironhide's attack earlier, but Mirage shows that it's an unnessecary gesture. Mirage is welcomed back onto the team. Then Ironhide and Mirage share a tender race.

==Detailed synopsis==

The Predacons mug a scientist to steal a disk that belongs to Dr. Onishi. A second scientist tries to fight off Dark Scream by tossing a fire extinguisher. A fire engine arrives, and the Predacons think it might be Optimus Prime. So Slapper licks the disk up and the three retreat.

T-AI and Optimus wonder why the Predacons are so concerned with stealing a regular disk. Prowl and Sideburn are contacted to be placed on alert.

Under the sea, the Predacons look at what's on the disk: Images of steam engine train branded "D-5". Knowing only that the train holds some importance to the doctor, Megatron orders his goons to capture it. In the same room, Dr. Onishi mumbles something about Grampa.

Coincidentally, Koji happens to be attending a demonstration running of the D-5 train ("Grampa") with Scientist 1. Midnight Express and the Autobot brothers also attend, waiting for the Predacons to attack. The train pulls into the station where Koji and the rest of the crowd of observers are waiting. They board the locomotive and start to enjoy their trip on the anachronism. The rest of Team Bullet Train arrive to make sure the train is protected as much as possible. Oh, and Sideburn and a cow ruin Kelly's day—moo!

Sky-Byte begins the Predacons' attack on the D-5 train, attempting to invade the train's interior by sneaking down the train's smokestack, but he's quickly knocked off course by a face full of smoke. Dark Scream tries to grab onto the top of train, but receives a face full of smoke when the train goes into a tunnel. Not entirely giving up his fight, Dark Scream gets up, but is literally railroaded by Rapid Run. Slapper gives his shot at invading the antique, but Midnight Express notices the reptile attacking Grampa and evicts the interloper. The two battle on a beach, and the Autobot clearly has the upper hand. The dastardly Gas Skunk waits ahead with a weapon, and when the train passes, he traps the two remaining train-bots in a pulse field that disturbed their fuses, but D-5, having no fuses, passes through.

The D-5 train pulls into the station successfully, and the human passengers disembark, but as soon as they're off, the Predacons commandeer the vessel. The bullet trains chase after the hijacked machine, but Sky-Byte diverts the train away from its protectors. T-AI determines that the train's new track will lead it into the water, but Midnight Express refuses to let Grampa fall into the ocean. The train derails, and Midnight Express jumps into the water after it. Underwater, Megatron tries to grab the falling choo-choo, but Midnight Express snatches the train before it literally falls into the enemy's waiting hands.

Afterwards, Koji and the Autobots understand how the endurance of the relic is a symbol of hope.

* T-AI says the floppy disk is standard capacity, 1.44 Megabytes. But the correct size is 1.40 Megabytes, since the disks hold 1440 KB of data, but a Megabyte is actually 1024 KB (or (2^10) KB), not 1000 KB.
The Predacons use [[Side Burn (RiD)|Side Burn's]] appetites against him.

==Detailed synopsis==

It all starts with with Sideburn chasing down a weird looking red car. Prowl tries to stop them but loses them. Sideburn follows the car into a junkyard and is shocked and upset that the red car was actually Megatron. (which brings up an interesting point, does Sideburn care about the cars gender?) The Predacons apparently know about his taste in cars and used it to trick him. Sideburn is then captured by the Predacons and is now part of their evil plan.

The next day Optimus and Sideburn's brothers are all worried when he didn't check in and go out to serch for him. They are stopped by the Predacons who leave a message that if they want to see Sideburn again Optimus had to go get him alone. Optimus decides to go against the wishes of his soldiers who know it's a trap.

Meanwhile Koji is with his friend and friend's father at a car crushing facility. The Predacons attack and order them to leave. As they run, Koji spots Sideburn as their prisoner and stays to see if he can help. Inside the Predacons tell Sideburn their plot. They were going to use Sideburn to lure Optimus into a trap and then hand him over to Megatron.

Back at the base Prowl and X-Brawn convince TAI to send the Spychangers to help Optimus. The two brothers decide to help out by going in disguise. Sadly it doesn't seems that Prowl hasn't any imagination (he's wearing a NO ENTRY bib and holding a NO ENTRY sign while asking his brother to guess who he was) and X-Brawn tells him that it was the dumbest disguise he had ever seen. Thankfully X-Brawn had imagination but no taste, he and Prowl were in vehicle mode but covered in goofy looking paint jobs.

Meanwhile the Predacons are curious as to why Sideburn is into red sport cars. Sideburn then tells a woeful tale when he was a classic blue sports car and how he met a classic red sports car, but after a tragic accident Sideburn was left all alone. Now the Predacons are all feeling sorry for him, including the part when Sideburn was just a tricycle and how he met a red tricycle. Of course Skybite reminds them that Sideburn was from Cybertron and was never a classic blue sports car or a tricycle.

Optimus finally arrives and, even though Sideburn tried to warn him, is captured in Energon ropes. Outside, Prowl and X-Brawn arrive and witness Megatron arriving. Thankfully he doesn't notice them and goes inside the building. Inside, Skybite hands over Optimus in which Megatron uses this moment to use the helpless Autobot leader as a punching bag. (that's low, even for you Megatron!!)

Outside Prowl and X-Brawn needed a plan to help their brother and leader. They spot Koji and contact him through his phone. Prowl asks him to switch on the magnectic machine so he could get into the building unnoticed. As the machine lifts him into the air the Predacons all agree that Prowl was one ugly car. As Prowl lands on the convyer belt he transforms and blast the machine which powered the Energon ropes freeing Optimus and Sideburn. The Spychangers suddenly show up and Optimus and Sideburn decide that it's time for payback. After defeating the Predacons Sideburn apoligises and said he'll never chase a red sports car again. Sadly the moment he promises this a red sports car wizzes by and he tails it scraming that he thinks his in love.
