==Summary==
The Autobot Ironhide sends a message to the Earth Autobots, revealing he is under attack from Decepticons, and has already lost one [[space bridge]]. He requests back up but the transmission is cut off. Ultra Magnus explains this is but one of many reports of rising Decepticon activity. Jazz thinks it is due to the rumours of Megatron's survival, and Sentinel can't resist an opportunity to make a snide comment about the source of those rumours; Optimus Prime. Magnus decides that all Earth bound Autobots will make preparations to leave the planet, and when Optimus protests due to the presence of Decepticons on Earth, Ultra Magnus brushes him off. When Optimus tries to make his case, Sentinel butts in with another tirade about putting Prime up for an inquiry, with Optimus seeing it as merely another word for court martial. Ultra Magnus tries to make his position clear; that in the long run, everyone is better off believing Megatron is dead, rather then cause panic among the Autobots and strengthen the resolve of the Decepticons by putting forward the idea of the Decepticon leader surviving, and the All Spark being destroyed. An outraged Prime is forced into compliance.Back at the factory, Sari is heartbroken by the idea of her friends being forced to leave Earth. The situation is made worse when Sentinel shows up, and with his usual grace and tact, tells Sari to belt up, and officially inducts Optimus' team in the war effort. In the middle of insulting the "repair grunts", he makes a gesture of sorts to Optimus; do as Ultra Magnus says, admit he's been lying and Sentinel will use his connections to get Optimus' military career back on track, as thanks for the recent Headmaster incident. When Optimus tells him what to do with his offer, Sentinel places him under formal arrest.

On a garbage scow moving along the river, Starscream suddenly reactivates. Disorientated, he panics when he realises not only can he not pick up any Decepticon energy signatures, he can't even pick up his own! After a moment of shock, he recovers and gets his bearings, he's alive and still on Earth. Furious at Megatron's attempt on his life, he transforms and blasts off into the sky. At the Decepticon base, Blitwing and Lugnut successfully test out Professor Sumdac's new Decepticon signal dampener. Mildly impressed, Megatron quickly moves on, demanding the creation of a subspace communicator so he can contact his forces in space so he can call off the skirmishes until he can build his own space bridge. When Sumdac comments that Earth technology is too primitive, he smugly informs him that they will simply steal the required tech from the Elite Guard's ship. Meanwhile, the Autobots are trying to figure out what to do with Sari, and take her to the most together human they know; Captain Fanzone, although they do point out a lot of the humans they know are criminally insane. While they handle that, Optimus is on the Elite Guard's ship, with Sentinel still trying to convince him to play ball. While they argue, Lugnut and Blitzwing tunnel under the ship's shield, and steal a tachyon generator. As they make their escape, they fail to notice Starscream tailing them back to base.[[Image:Swordscream.JPG|Left|thumb|200px|And so begins the greatest TF montage of all time.]] As Lugnut presents his prize to Megatron, Starscream makes his presence known. What follows is a quick but decisive victory for Megatron who simply slashes Starscream, before blasting him point blank. Lugnut checks to see if Starscream is still online, and finding no spark, helps Blitzing toss his corpse into the river. After floating downstream, Starscream suddenly reactivates. He realises he lacks a spark, and discovers he is being kept alive by a fragment of the AllSpark buried in his head, effectively making him an immortal. Delighted, he declares the end of the Megatron's era. As Megatron sends his message out to the Decepticons, Starscream attacks!...and is promptly killed again. After a couple more fruitless attempts, he starts to wonder if he needs a new strategy. His fragment allows him to locate a second shard, and a plan begins to formulate...

Like [[Starscream (disambiguation)|others of his kind]], Starscream seeks to betray [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] and take over leadership of the Decepticons. This time, however, he's not afraid to plant bombs on his mighty leader. In the aftermath of the explosion, Starscream got so caught up in his own greatness that he didn't notice that his comrades abandoned him on a [[Nemesis (Animated)|ship]] hurtling towards an exploding space bridge.

Over the next fifty [[units of time|solar cycles]], Starscream searched for the [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]] on his own, using the damaged ship as a base (and probably getting a few screws loose in his [[central processor]]). He later discovered that the AllSpark was on [[Earth]] and adopted a jet fighter as an alternate mode to search for it. When he revealed himself to the Autobots, he quickly thrashed each of them individually. Starscream mocked them, apparently assuming that the Autobots thought ''they'' had really defeated Megatron (whom he referred to as "the great Megatron" without sarcasm, so he seems to have at least a loathing respect for his leader's power). All too boastful of his cunning, Starscream boldly admitted that Megatron was already defeated by the bomb which Starscream himself had put on him. Despite being more powerful than the Autobots, Starscream failed to take the AllSpark, partially because he [[Megatron (BW)|spent too much time gloating]]. [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] grabbed Starscream in midair, and they opened the AllSpark, releasing a massive wave of energy. It turns out Starscream had been hiding on Earth this whole time, until he decided to reveal himself to a badly damaged [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] and [[Lugnut]], offering them help in exchange for their loyalty. After repairing Lugnut and Blitzwing, Starscream continually had to reassert his authority over the two walking malfunctions. As Lugnut went prostrate with praise, Starscream was initially quite flattered by the hulking Decepticon's obsequity, but quickly learned that the big guy was being manipulated by an outside source. Tracking the transmission, he came to [[Sumdac Tower]] and was quite surprised to find the disembodied head of his former leader. Beginning the smug monologue to end all smug monologues, he was interrupted by the senseless heroics of the Autobot [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]]. Focusing his attentions on the yellow little squirt, he mistakenly assumed that Megatron was helpless, an oversight that allowed the galactic despot to control the lab's machinery and defenestrate the traitor. Even so Starscream remained fixated on Bumblebee, and thus was caught unaware when the repaired form of Megatron burst from the tower roof. {{storylink|Megatron Rising - Part 1}}

Starscream watched with interest, tossing Bumblebee around absentmindedly as Megatron trashed the Autobots. When Megatron called out his loyal Decepticons, Starscream gracefully landed on Lugnut's head, ready to return to his position as second-in-command. Megatron prepared to fire on the Autobots, but quickly lashed out and rammed the [[Sari Sumdac's key|AllSpark Key]] into Starscream's chest, seemingly offlining the traitor, who then crumpled to the ground. {{storylink|Megatron Rising - Part 2}}

After waking up in a barge, Starscream freaked out due to not being able to track his own energy signature, he proceeded to attack Megatron just to be defeated repeatedly, thrown off a cliff, rinse and repeat. Noticing he no longer possesses a spark Starscream theorizes that a shard of the allspark is keeping him in this undead state.
Starscream is now, for all purposes, Immortal.
He ends up trying to kill Megatron using another piece of the allspark and a bomb but his plan attracts the attention of the Elite Guard, Megatron beats him up and throws him at the Elite Guard, that eventually subdue him and takes him prisoner back to Cybertron.{{storylink|Mission Accomplished}}
