When one considers that his city gets destroyed every week, yet gets rebuilt in time to be destroyed again, he must be a very good politician. When one considers that he is maintained in public office despite his apparent total disinterest in speaking at all, he must be an ''incredible'' politician. Or he's got dirt on every other candidate.

Surprisingly, Mayor Edsel was not the one to welcome the Autobots publicly to Earth on behalf of all Humanity. That honor went to [[Isaac Sumdac]], for reasons untold and mysterious.

Edsel, now in the company of his young lady-friend—er... his aide—then showed up again at a press conference held by [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]] and [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]]. When they realized that Sentinel Prime was a jerk and was only there to condescend to them, she apologized for wasting his time. Because of a contract dispute with [[Sumdac Systems]]' new CEO [[Porter C. Powell]], trash disposal in Detroit was halted for a prolonged period of time, leading to public anger at the Mayor. He consented to viewing a demonstration of Powell's new garbage-destroying [[automaton|microbots]], and seemed to express a willingness to renewing the Sumdac sanitation contract. But when the aggressive, all-consuming nature of the microbots became clear, Mayor Edsel's mood soured, making a negotiated compromise less likely. Only when [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] threatened to throw both Edsel and Powell into the river did the two forge a new deal—sealed, of course, with a silent handshake. {{storylink|Garbage In, Garbage Out}}

* While Blitzwing is pushing the heavy load of construction equipment from a side profile, the animation is missing a line that separates his inner thigh from his crotch.
* As Megatron explains the Autobots 'cunning' to Mixmaster and Scrapper, the white outline around his insignia is not complete (either that or it's part of a shadow).
* Around the time Ratchet tells Bumblebee to "vamoose", Bumblebee has a red Decepticon insignia

*Megatron corrupting the Constructicons may also be a nod to Generation 1, where he did the same thing in "[[The Secret of Omega Supreme]]". Except, instead of using the [[Robo-Smasher]], he got them [[Microbots|robo-smashed]]...

* The two surveyors on top of the bridge are decked out in blue jeans, white shirts, tan jackets and yellow hard hats and boots, just like a disproportionate amount of humans from the [[Generation 1 (cartoon)|Generation 1 cartoon]].

* A construction crane which appears in a few scenes early in the episode is colored in the traditional Constructicon green-and-purple. Purple and green excavation vehicles were previously seen in "[[Nature Calls]]", and yet the ''Animated'' Constructicons themselves are yellow and grey, making them look more like the Generation 2 Constructicon Toys! Suck on that, fanboys!

* Bulkhead was saved from a falling I beam, reminescent of the misadventures which inroduced the Gigantion [[to sell toys|pro-CHARACTERS]] in the episode [[Giant]].

* The Constructicons first start off as Constructobots, a portmanteau of construction and Autobot, but later Megatron gives them a new name, formed from construction and Decepticon instead.
* Even assuming the Constructicons don't drink anything off-screen, they still consume what looks like half their weight in oil over the course of the episode. Where does it go?
