Arcee, Bulkhead, Miko and Jack visited the mine to investigate an energon signature. Shortly afterward, Starscream and Megatron arrived. Starscream questioned why Megatron would want to visit a depleted mine, and blamed Soundwave when it was discovered that several drilling machines had been left behind. Megatron pulled an energon crystal from the wall, revealing that he was aware that Starscream was using the mine as a secret personal stash, and prepared to execute him. He was interrupted when he noticed Jack and Arcee, and the resulting firefight caused much of the mine to collapse, leaving the six trapped for a time. Rock Bottom
Notes
Arcee estimated that the mine had been abandoned for four of five years, although Starscream later said that the mine was abandoned while Megatron was travelling through space, placing it during the last three years.
Tailgate was a member of Delta Team during an unnamed battle. He failed to take out a sniper, forcing Arcee to enter hand to hand combat. As the two discussed where to rendevouz, Arcee was captured by Airachnid. Later, Tailgate was also captured, and brought before the two of them. Deus ex Machina muddies the issue somewhat further with Starscream's comment that "The crew took a vote", which would seem to be beyond the capability of drones. Although then he does go and randomly murder one. Of course, I suppose the crew he was referring to could have been named Decepticons aboard the Nemesis that haven't been shown yet, the same way there's nothing to suggest Makeshift wasn't aboard during Darkness Rising.
