Arcee's ship was entering a planet's atmosphere, probably [[Earth|Earth's]], when Thundercracker appeared and blasted the ship out of the sky. Arcee was trapped in the ruins of the ship while her shipmates went outside to battle Thundercracker. When she managed to get herself free, she thought her audio receptors were damaged, but the silence was because there was nobody fighting. Then Thundercracker approached her and said he was so glad to see her before she blacked out.

When she woke up, Arcee was horrified to see her dead body lying on a table in front of her. It turns out that she was in the lab of the Decepticon 'field medic', Flatline and her spark has been transfered to a pink armored [[protoform]] body. Flatline noticed she was awake and quickly called Thundercracker to report that her spark did not seem to strong enough to power 'the rest'. Thundercracker believed otherwise and told him to not make any mistake this time as he had nearly depleted his post's supply of protoforms. To make sure the job was done right, Thundercracker was coming to see over this himself. Flatline left the room to gather some more connectors and told Arcee to stay put.

Then Arcee noticed Skids and Mudflap in an energy cage. The Twins noted that Arcee didn't look right, in fact, none of them looked right. It was then that Arcee notice the two lifeless protoforms that were hanging next to here. Confused and frightened, Arcee asked where she was and what happened. After a little debating of who was going to answer those questions, the Twins decided to both tell her.

It was then that Flatline returned and said that Arcee was transferred to her new body to save her spark. She was a guinea pig for an experimental procedure to produce new Decepticon warriors. Arcee was the latest addition to the Decepticon army, her spark given by her previous form. Flatline claimed that he only did a minor amount of surgery, the initial damage being mostly caused by his commander. That was when Thundercracker came in and proudly claimed credit for the damage. Arcee felt hatred for the Decepticon who slaughtered her team mates, but she could not remember his name.
