What, if anything, does Classic Rod take from Energon Rod? Maybe it's just because I'm not that familiar with the original, but I've got them both here on my desk, and I just don't see it. Little help? --yo
:It's the yellow things on his forehead. Energon Rodimus was the first one to get it, so the Classics and Titaniums figure take that visual element from the Energon character. -Detour 07:23, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Revoltech Development
Accidentally put this on the Hot Rod character page before discovering the toy page had been separated...

I'm not sure how best to insert this info into the Toy/Merchandise section, so I'm putting it here for now, both in Hot Rod and Starscream's discussion pages.

Revoltech Yamaguchi versions of Hot Rod and Starscream are being developed for release on March 15. Since they're still in the production process, the final figures may differ from the photos shown here. No other details are currently available.--Apcog 08:25, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
G1 Hot Rod's Mystery Knees
This bit is totally new to me - "Before final production, the Hot Rod toy's legs extended to reveal exposed knees. This was changed between the first shot and final production stage. The knees are still present, just blocked by an additional plastic tab that keeps the legs from fully extending."

So my question is, anyone got a good picture of the mystery knees? Are they spherical like the animation model's or what? I'm really curious, but I don't care to shred my Hot Rod's stickers to find out, but especially since someone apparently did already.--MCRG 16:49, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Henkei
Why, again, is Henkei Hot Rod "not the same toy" as Classics? We don't have separate entries for Armada Hot Shot/Micron Legend Hot Rod, and this is no different. --ItsWalky 03:30, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
:I tend to agree, but then I think about the upcoming Henkei Sunstreaker and Prowl. Henkei is Japanese Classics, but Universe isn't strictly Classics, just some of the toys in them are made thematically in the style of Classics. I need sleep. --FFN 04:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
::Personally, I had not thought of Classics/Henkei as being precisely Hasbro/Takara versions of the same thing analogous to Armada/Micron Legend. To my mind, there is a bit more separation there. --KilMichaelMcC 04:39, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
:::They're the same toys representing the same characters, with deco changes. --ItsWalky 04:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
::::See, I'm of the opinion that all toys that are different should be in separate entries, regardless of if they're across-sea counterparts of each other. So, yes, I would say that Micron Legend Hot Rod should be separate from Armada Hot Shot. It seems silly to do otherwise while creating separate entires for multipacks with the exact same toy or Universe repackages. —Interrobang 04:48, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
::::Well Walky, Kiss Players Hot Rodimus and Alternators Rodimus are the same toys representing the same characters but they still have different entries because the lines themselves aren't treated the same. I think the same applies with Classics and Henkei. --Detour 04:54, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
One can argue that due to Henkei having fiction much like Binaltech/Kissplay. Also the line no doubt is going to contain figures that Classics/Universe won't have and vice versa. It's a really grey area this issue. Using Alternators as an example does not help cause a lot of wikia entrys act as the Alternator and Binaltech toy as one entry (Examples like Skids) The Rodimus case for Kissplay is unique due to his extras included (PVC figure, weapons, CD, ect). Personally, I think any variation that is not within the line itself within it's own national release should be a seperate entry. Like Hot Shot mentioned before, his "Hot Rod" Micron toy with light up feature should be listed seperate. Use this to come to a conclusion. --ProtomanXRED 04:57, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Odd bits on G1 Hot Rod entry
"Hot Rod transforms from a robot into a "futuristic" hot rod sportscar based on the Nissan Dome Zero racecar designed in 1978. His robot mode bears some resemblance to Bandai's Super Robot Zanbo Ace and may have been partially inspired by it." Um... The first line is only representative of Classics Hot Rod, and I'm seeing only coincidental resemblances between Zanbo Ace and Hot Rod, especially considering I got shut down pointing out a 'much' stronger connection on the Scrapmetal discussion page a long while back. I'm taking this stuff out until someone presents something concrete.--MCRG 05:11, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
:....yeah, I have no idea when that last bit got sneaked in there. My gut says to yank it. --ItsWalky 05:37, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
:Could be right on the car mode, but the robot mode is distinctively ressemblant to Zanbo Ace (the smaller robot on the page), from the head design, to the large V-shaped item on his back, to the V on his chest much like Hot Rod has a V-shaped flame pattern on his chest, and even the legs bear some slight ressemblance. This isn't quite the same as "they're both spidertanks!!". --Detour 05:41, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
:::I think the only tiny resemblance between Hot Rod and Zambo Ace is the V-shape (well, sort of) things on their backs. And this should belong to the trivia, not main article. --<span style= "color:#00FA9A">TX55</span><small><span style= "color:#0000CD">TALK</span></small> 13:13, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Rodimus Prime's vehicle mode
There is nowhere in the official fiction, production materials, catalogs, and source books that has address Rodimus Prime's vehicle mode as a Winnebago, or any recreation vehicle and or accessory for that matter. They have simply referred it as a futuristic truck or vehicle. The original instructions, seen here, addresses the alt mode as a futuristic vehicle. The Winnebago or "Space Winnebago" claim, is nothing more than just a fandom joke. Possibly invented and perpetuated by Rodimus haters, who thought the best retaliation against the character was to label his vehicle mode as something that could be perceived as demeaning. Like what Pokeformers is to Armada. However, it's one thing to make jokes about something regardless of whether or not they're funny, but it's another to try and pass it off as fact.

This site, along with the corresponding wikia, is supposed to be an encyclopedia of all things related to the Transformers franchise that based on proven facts and figures. Now I know it also prides itself satirical in its information, primarily in each article's image captions. Which seems to be a growing trend in Wikimedia. However, anytime a joke is taken as the gospel by the people who hear about it, it ceases to be a joke and becomes a rumor or and urban legend. I was playing along with the joke, until I had the multiple run-ins with people who believed the joke to be fact. So there needs to be clarified that it not fact, but rather a fan manifestation like JaAm and Trukk not munky.
Not sure if that's a joke or not. Speaking even as someone who liked the character as a kid I can't imagine myself spending that much money on faulty junk. I've been stung enough times with the obscenely overpriced so-called Masterpiece line. It doesn't even look that good. Stick with Classics Rodimus for a decent Hot Rod toy though I do find it strange that his toy never seems to be painted in his cartoon colors despite the now numerous redecos even when they seemingly try.82.26.185.202 06:49, 22 August 2011 (EDT)
