Blackarachnia hates her techno-organic beast mode with a passion. Once she was an Autobot Academy cadet, but when she was abandoned on an alien world by her former teammates, she was forced to adapt to the monstrous organic lifeforms that inhabited the world. Now she is trapped between organic and machine, unable to take a new form. The experience fueled a newfound hatred of the Autobots and a quest for revenge that led her to join Megatron in his war against them, but she doesn't appear to hold any real loyalty toward him. Her hatred of her organic body is driving her insane, and she will do anything to get rid of it, no matter whom she has to crush in her path.

By stabbing other mechanoids with the spider legs projecting over her shoulders, she has the unique ability to download and mimic their traits and weaponry for a limited amount of time. Hope nobody told Lockdown.

Blackarachnia acts differently around robots of the "opposite sex" depending on faction; she's bitting and sarcastic towards the Decepticons, but seductive and manipulative towards the Autobots. However, these appear to be but shells worn by a being who desperately wants to be normal again.

Blackarachnia was previously known as Elita-1. A thousand stellar cycles ago Elita and her teammates, Optimus Prime and Sentinel Prime, were exploring an alien world, looking for a Decepticon ship filled with energon. They accidentally fell into a series of caves. They were ambushed by giant spiders and, when escaping the massive energon explosion caused by the battle, Elita ended up being left behind. When she tried using her ability to borrow powers from other beings, she was injected by the spiders' venom, turning her into the hideous freak she is now. Because of her new, semi-organic nature, her signal did not appear on Optimus's radar, leading him and Sentinel to believe that she had perished in the explosion. Along Came a Spider

When the All Spark was found by a group of Autobots, Blackarachnia was aboard the Nemesis with the other Decepticons, annoyed at Lugnut's emphatic, vocal loyalty to Megatron. She even suggested that Lugnut's speech of praise was hardwired into his mind. She also had conflict with Blitzwing, who touched a sore point by insulting her organic mode. Her retort to "blow it out your actuator, three-face" angered Blitzwing to the point that he...began to express his feelings in song. Later, at Megatron's orders, she scanned the Autobots' ship to determine the nature of their high-energy cargo. She confirmed the Autobots were carrying the All Spark, or at least something just as powerful. When the Autobots escaped and it became clear the Nemesis was going to crash into an exploding space bridge, Blackarachnia fled in an escape pod. Transform and Roll Out!

Later, she stalked Bumblebee, Bulkhead, and Sari on Halloween night. After she took out Bumblebee and Bulkhead, she started lying to Sari, who, even after her encounter with Starscream, still couldn't recognize a Decepticon. Fortunately, Optimus came along, but Blackarachnia kidnapped Sari and started web-swinging.

After she got to the top of a skyscraper, Prime tried to fight her, only to realize at last who she was. Blackarachnia tried to use Sari's All Spark key to become fully mechanical. However, the energies unleashed caused any organic life in range, including Sari (and presumably any other fleshy) to shrivel and sicken. It almost killed Blackarachnia, but Optimus Prime pulled the key out, restoring the organics. Prime tried to reason with "Elita", asking her to come with them in the hopes of curing her, but Blackarachnia stabbed him, saying that it would be a long time before she trusted him again. After she knocked out Prime, she cried her four eyes out. Along Came a Spider

Later, she again kidnapped Sari, who was running away after having the key taken away from her. When she heard about the key and how Sari felt totally mistrusted by the Autobots, Blackarachnia played on the girl's sympathies by saying she knew how Sari felt. BA noted how she was not a Decepticon until after the Autobots turned their backs on her, and how the All Spark's power was the only thing that could cure her current form. Despite being kidnapped again and nearly being killed by BA's previous use of the key, Sari appeared to start seeing eye to eye with her captor. Megatron Rising - Part I

At least, that was what she wanted Blackarachnia to believe. Leading her around in circles over the frozen Lake Erie, Sari was finally forced to admit that the Ark, which contained the All Spark, was underwater. Blackarachnia's organic half wouldn't withstand the icy underwater, and incensed by the deception, she prepared to kill Sari. Ratchet brought the ship up through the ice, and Sari bit Blackarachnia's hand, showing that her organic half apparently couldn't withstand teeth either. The pain apparently caused Blackarachnia to release Sari, which allowed Ratchet to grab her and get in the ship. As Blackarachnia tried to force the door open, the Ark accelerated, and Blackarachnia was thrown off the ship. Here's hoping her organic half can at least survive hard impacts. Megatron Rising - Part II
Transformers Animated is the next television-supported Transformers franchise, due to start in the January of 2008 with a 3-episode mini-movie.

The cartoon is produced by Cartoon Network, scripted in the United States, with character and background designs by the crews behind shows like Teen Titans and Ben10, while animation is being provided by Japanese studio Mook.

Toy Line
First previewed July 1, 2007, in Hasbro's Future Products panel at Botcon.

The Transformers: Animated toy line merges the more fluid, expressive design style of the cartoon with extremely poseable robot forms (to a degree even Hasbro seemed pleasantly surprised by). Unlike the franchises immediately before it, there is no overarcing, line-wide gimmick such as Mini-Cons or Cyber Planet Keys; rather, transforming IS the gimmick, and toys will have other special features that are unique and appropriate to the character they depict. While the designs originated with Hasbro and the Cartoon Network team, TakaraTomy is once again stepping up to the plate to engineer the toys.

The toy line is currently scheduled to debut in March 2008 with a special "battle pack" featuring multiple figures. The full line will presumably bow sometime a few months later.
:Vector Prime is an Autobot character in the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Vector Prime is Primus's appointed guardian of time and space. 25 million years old, the clockwork-covered Transformer is one of the 13 original Transformers. Despite his age, Vector Prime is very powerful, and can warp both space and time, though excessive use of this power can severely weaken him.

Vector Prime was once a holder of the Matrix of Leadership before he left Cybertron to guard space and time, a lonely job which isolated him from Cybertronian culture for tens of millions of years. Though he has rejoined the timestream on occasion to protect it from large-scale dangers, his extraordinary exile has left him emotionally, culturally, and politically disconnected from his race. He speaks in archaic terminology steeped in chivalry from an age long past and is unfamiliar with the Autobot/Decepticon war. Despite this disconnect, Vector Prime never forgets that these strange modern creatures are the reason he guards space and time so fiercely. It is the miracle of time that allows these precious lives to continue.

Vector Prime has a "Guardian Mini-Con" called Safeguard, and is also responsible for the Recon Mini-Con Team.

Fiction
Animated continuity
Fun Publications Cybertron comic
During the long dormancy of Primus and Unicron at the beginning of time, Vector Prime retreated from the march of history to prepare for when his skills would once again be called upon. From this isolation he watched the greatest victories and defeats of the Transformers race across the various timelines, intervening only when his hand was needed to preserve the balance of time. (For example, Vector Prime helped mend Generation 1 Optimus Prime and repair the timestorm that Predacon Megatron had unleashed in the Beast Wars.) However, the awakening of Primus and Unicron returned Vector Prime to active service, following the wake of Unicron across the multiverse to prevent or restore what damage the Dark God had inflicted with its contaminating presence.

After the Powerlinx Battles, Primus attempted to lock Unicron's essence away in the center of a newborn sun, but this plan backfired and the sun collapsed into a black hole, also known as the Unicron Singularity. This threatened the multiverse itself, so Vector Prime was called back to Cybertron to assist the Autobots in locating artifacts which would destroy the black hole.

During the Autobots' search, Vector Prime would routinely confer with Alpha Trion on their progress. During one such visit, Ramjet and Nemesis Prime, followers of Unicron, attacked them, heavily damaging Alpha Trion and destroying Vector Sigma. It was Ramjet's plan that Nemesis Prime would unleash his Dead Matrix to destroy their Creator, and so the two travelled to the chamber deep within Cybertron that housed Primus' essence. Vector Prime and Sentinel Maximus met and battled them there. Vector Prime and Ramjet's fight left the chamber and ended ultimately high above Cybertron. Though Vector Prime was able to defeat Ramjet and seal him away in another dimension, this act weakened him considerably. The guardian of space and time returned to the Autobots on Earth and left Cybertron in the care of Over-Run, a Mini-Con who had taken the reins of what remained of Vector Sigma.

When Vector Prime discovered that Unicron's destruction had resulted in a black hole that threatened existence itself, his role as Guardian of Time and Space compelled him to set forth to fix it using the Omega Lock and the four Cyber Planet Keys, forged from the spark of Primus himself. Of course, the fact that these ancient artifacts were lost several million years ago presented certain problems. As a result, he returned to Cyberton in an attempt to enlist some help, and encountered the charismatic Megatron, who tricked Vector Prime into handing over the Planet Map to the Decepticons. Immediately thereafter, Vector Prime realized the Decepticons were actually kind of jerks, and joined the Autobots. Vector Prime was vital to the Autobot cause, as he could create small-scale Space Bridges with his sword, as well as force fields with the aid of his Universal Cyber Key. On one occasion, when Megatron killed Coby, Bud, and Lori, Vector Prime turned back time to save them, although this caused him great strain. Later, he would find the Omega Lock in the spaceship Atlantis, and get it back.

spoiler

In a heroic sacrifice, Vector Prime overloaded his time-travel powers to send the stranded Autobots back to a point before they arrived on Gigantion. Sadly, this incredible strain spelled the end of his physical existence, and he became One With Time Itself. He would not be seen again, but, from Beyond Time, he gave his sword to Optimus Prime in Prime's final battle with Galvatron.

In the "what happens to everybody after the show ended" scenes from the show's final episode, Vector Prime can be seen dueling with Galvatron in what is presumably a Battle of the Dead Guys somewhere in the Allspark.

Real world
At some undetermined point in Vector Prime's life, he took the time to answer a series of questions about himself, other Transformers, and the Transformers: Cybertron toyline in a recurring feature on Hasbro's official Transformers website called "Ask Vector Prime". Because of his mastery of time and space it is impossible to determine when exactly he visited -- or perhaps merely communicated with -- our universe, but it may have been during the course of events in the Cybertron animated series, as he answers questions regarding those events and other characters who he had not met before the series began. Alternatively, he may have answered the questions after the conclusion of the series from within the Allspark, which is known to be a dimensional nexus of sorts.
* Vector Prime (Voyager, 2005)
:Japanese ID number: GC-03

: First released in Japan, Vector Prime transforms into a large cybertronic space cruiser with "solar panel" wings, his shape seemingly taking cues from both the Beast Wars starship Axalon and the Star Wars Sith Infiltrator. His nosecone has a spring-loaded missile launcher at the tip. He is also one of the few early molds in the series to have Mini-Con Powerlinx plugs. Inserting his unique Cyber Planet Key in either mode activates electronic sounds. He comes with his Mini-Con partner Safeguard.

: Vector Prime has some significant differences between the Takara and Hasbro releases. Takara's release uses a matte gray plastic with a lighter, burgundy-tinted brown, uses firmer plastic for his clear-blue parts, and has more intricate paint applications. Hasbro's release has a higher-contrast color scheme of white with chocolate-brown, more flexible clear-blue plastic (for safety reasons), and less-intricate paint applications.

* Vector Prime vs Starscream (Multi-pack, 2005)

: The Vector Prime in this Toys 'R' Us exclusive set is identical to the regular-retail version, even though the Starscream is not only a mold not available at normal US retail, but is in an entirely new coloration not used for its Japanese release.

* Vector Prime (Legends of Cybertron, 2006)

: As part of the Legends of Cybertron line, Vector Prime is a miniature, heavily-simplified version of the Voyager-class toy, yet retaining much of the sculpted detailing. He was part of the third wave of product, the first wave to be sold outside of "market six" stores and in "big box" chains like Toys 'R' Us and K-Mart.

: Not to be confused with the Galaxy Force release of Vector Prime, Galaxy Force Vector Prime is a matte gold redeco of Vector Prime released near the end of the Cybertron toyline. His transparent blue parts were changed to transparent orange, and he has the same number of paint applications as the original Cybertron Vector Prime toy.

: Available exclusively form the Jollibee restaurant chain in the Phillipines, this small scale, extremely simplified version of Vector Prime was sold under the subline Transformers Cybertron Robot Blasters. Similar to the Legends of Cybertron version, the Robot Blasters Vector Prime has an even more simplified transformation sequence and less articulation and paint detailing. However he impressively retains a significant amount of Vector Prime's sculpted detailing.

: Part of the first assortment of Attacktix Transformers-series Booster packs, Vector Prime is an "Ultra-Rare" 40-point Leader piece that uses a "shield missile" attack. His Special Power allows you to instantly remove up to two of your opponent's in-play Insecticons. Like all Boosters, he was available only in blind-packed sets with two pieces in each box, one Rare and one Super-Rare (your odds of getting a Vector are one in twelve).

: This version uses the Takara coloration of gray with a metallic burgundy; pictures of a more Hasbro-release-like white-and-brown redeco have been shown, but it is currently unknown how this version will be released.

The Predacon New Emperor of Destruction, Galvatron journeyed to Planet Gaia in search of a powerful energy source. He is a strong and cunning warrior, though a little on the crazy and suicidal side. His younger brother, Megastorm, secretly desires to overthrow his brother and take his place as Emperor. Galvatron is well-aware of this, however, and lets it slide out of love for his li'l bro.

He is incapable of not grimacing like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, even during one of his narcolepsy attacks, unless it is... The Final Battle.

On planet Cybertron, Megatron once disagreed with Galvatron over opinions on galactic conquest, and engaged him in battle over it. At the time, Megatron momentarily let his guard down, and was defeated by Galvatron!

Later, Megatron noted that while Galvatron was ambitious, he cared for his underlings - and although he he was loathe to admit it, he acknowledged that Galvatron probably had all the regal bearing of a new Emperor of Destruction.

In the seventh month of the Space Year 1999, Galvatron's plans would bloom...

While battling Leo Prime in space, Galvatron and his Predacon forces went through transwarp space and arrived on the planet Gaia. The Angolmois energy riddled throughout the planet proved to be a powerful energy source which Galvatron desired to possess. Galvatron downloaded a drill-mode and a dragon-mode from information stored in a computer which was left behind by the planet's extinct inhabitants. The new transformation modes proved powerful but left Galvatron with an awful side-effect; without warning he'd slip into Angolmois energy-induced comas.

When he wasn't sleeping, Galvatron fought Leo Prime and his Maximals on numerous occassions. At the same time, he fought off ambitious Predacons such as the treacherous Starscream, BB and even his own little brother, Megastorm, the Duke of Destruction.

He also briefly gained control of the legendary "God of Destruction" Majin Zarak, although this would be only temporary.

Galvatron eventually set his final plan into motion, summoning his battleship, the "artificial planet" Nemesis, into Gaia's orbit. The ship then proceeded to suck all the Angolmois energy out of the planet and stored it within. The Maximals followed Galvatron and his Predacons to the Nemesis to stop him. Leo Prime and Lio Junior merged into the Great Green Lion and narrowly defeated Galvatron in battle, thwarting his plans by ejecting the Angolmois energy from the Nemesis in capsules.

Defeated but not willing to surrender, Galvatron activated his Galva-Matrix, which set off a self-destruction sequence in the Nemesis. The explosion killed Galvatron, sent the Predacons drifting helplessly through outer space and trapped all the Maximals within a wormhole.
Trivia
*According to the first Beast Wars II catalog, Galvatron's battles with Leo Prime took place at roughly the same time as Optimus Primal's battles with Megatron, possibly indicating that the original Beast Wars crew also originated from "Space Year 1999". However, this seems highly inconsistent with even the notoriously vauge progress of the G1-to-Beast Era timeline.

*For unknown reasons, while Galvatron's toy was purple in color (similar to his namesake's animation model), he was primarily colored pink in the Beast Wars II and Neo animation.

*This is the ONLY version of Galvatron, in any Transformers continuity, that is not an upgraded form of Megatron. (Though IDW's Galvatron is apparently going to be a second.)
Normally, I love the humor here. I like that we don't always take everything seriously. However, I think this article is taking things a little far. Boo to this section, basically. Boo-urns, in fact. It feels like it's trashing Furman for no good reason. And I've never heard ANYONE say- "Hey, a similar bit of dialogue in a Simon Furman comic! Must be a Furmanism!"
It is traditionally carried by the current Autobot Leader.

Not much about the Matrix is common knowledge. Its exact nature remains largely a mystery. The Matrix is, however, widely known to possess "The Wisdom of the Ages." This may be due to its nature as a portal to the Allspark. As a Transformer lives and grows in experience, so does the Transformer's Spark, thus when it returns to the Allspark upon death, the lifetime's worth of knowledge is added to the whole.
It also includes the Creation Matrix, a computer program which can give a Transformer life.
Marvel Comics Continuity
Generation One Animated Continuity
Animated Series
The Matrix of Leadership first appeared in the animated Transformers universe in Transformers: The Movie, when a dying Optimus Prime passed it to Ultra Magnus. Prime was the seventh holder of the Matrix - after the death of the sixth holder, Alpha Trion briefly kept the Matrix safe before bestowing it upon Optimus.

Before passing away, Prime spoke of a prophecy - that one day, "The Chosen One" would rise from the ranks of the Autobots, and use the power of the Matrix to light the Transformers' darkest hour. That darkest hour soon came upon Cybertron in the form of the world-eater, Unicron, who knew that the Matrix's power was the one thing that could destroy him. Recreating Decepticon leader Megatron as Galvatron, he dispatched him to steal the Matrix, but when Galvatron obtained the talisman, he tried and failed to use its power against Unicron. Ultimately, the Chosen One who could open the Matrix proved to be the youthful Hot Rod, who reclaimed the Matrix and was transformed by its power into Rodimus Prime, before opening it within Unicron and releasing its power, which tore Unicron apart from within.

As the animated series progressed, more was divulged about the nature of the Matrix that had not been explained in the movie. When injured in battle, Rodimus's consciousness briefly entered the Matrix itself, and he discovered that it was more than a mere source of energy - it, in fact, contained the amassed wisdom of deceased Autobot leaders throughout history. Venturing into the Matrix a second time, Rodimus was shown the history of Cybertron by the ancient Autobots whose consciousnesses existed within the Matrix, revealing to him the Quintessons role in the creation of the Transformers. When he was resurrected, Optimus Prime later did the same thing when faced with the Hate Plague, and came to a drastic conclusion - to cure the madness of the plague, he expelled all of the wisdom from within the Matrix, saving the universe, but emptying the Matrix and leaving only a shell.

The Matrix's story subsequently branched off in two directions following this, as America and Japan took the story in their own unique directions. In the US finale, "The Rebirth," Optimus Prime used the shell of the Matrix as a substitute key to access Vector Sigma. Conversely, in Japan - where the Matrix is treated simply as a reservoir of pure energy - the shell was left hidden on Earth to slowly recharge its depleted energy. However, the emptying of the Matrix had destabilised Vector Sigma, leading the Autobots to search for its location before Optimus Prime sacrificed himself to restore the computer's balance. The ghost of Alpha Trion re-energised the Matrix, but Optimus Prime merged with Vector Sigma to stabilise it, and Rodimus Prime was again left in charge of the Autobots.

No origin was ever offered for the Matrix of Leadership in the animated continuity, but it was vaguely hinted that it was in some way connected to the origins of Unicron, perhaps to explain why it was his antithesis. Unicron was created by the insane genius, Primacron, but turned on him. After Unicron's attack against his master, Primacron's assistant was shown to flee, and from his damaged robotic body, an object that appeared to be the Matrix emerged. If this truly was intended to be the Matrix, how the Transformers obtained it was never revealed.

Dreamwave Continuity
Before the Autobots leave for Cybertron on the Ark II, Optimus Prime gives Spike Witwicky a piece of the Matrix to safeguard during their journey. The Ark II crashes, but when Spike and Optimus are reunited, Spike returns the piece to him. Optimus uses the complete Matrix of Leadership to awaken his deactivated troops and call them to him.

Beast Wars
In the 1990s animated series, Beast Wars and Beast Machines series, the nature of the Matrix was explored and evolved.

These series used "The Matrix" as a term that referred not merely to the physical object, but to an actual other-dimensional realm - the Transformer afterlife also called the Allspark, the well of all sparks that are, have been, or ever shall be. From the Allspark springs all Transformer life, and when a Transformer dies, their spark returns to the Allspark, sharing its life experience with the collective, creating a huge store of accumulated wisdom and knowledge. Understanding this, it can be retroactively assumed that the physical Matrix object wielded by Autobot leaders in the cartoon continuity is not simply a storehouse of knowledge itself, but rather, a gateway to this afterlife realm. Similarly, this also explains its ability to bestow life as seen in the comic book continuity - by transferring a spark from the Allspark through its connection to the realm.

The Matrix was also used as a nickname in the Beast Wars series for the facility which produced Maximal protoforms.

Beast Machines
See Allspark.

Unicron Trilogy
When Optimus Prime died by standing purposefully in the path of the Hydra Cannon built by Megatron from the three Mini-Con weapons. It was the Mini-Cons themselves, who resurrected him, entering the Matrix and reconstructing a new body for him (as well as forging a new trailer known as Overload), Subsequently, Prime was forced to face the dark part of his soul by Unicron, who forced him to face the fact that on some level, he enjoyed the thrill of combat. Following Unicron's defeat, Prime's denial was sorely tested as Galvatron forced him into one final furious battle, that ended when Galvatron sacrificed himself to end the circle of hate that powered Unicron. Prime survieved this battle, but he disgarded the Matrix and exilled himself as he thought that he was un-worthy.

In Transformers Cybertron, Optimus Prime uses the Matrix of Leadership to widen Vector Prime's transwarp tunnels. Optimus Prime's distinctive cyber key is unique becuse of the influence of his matrix.

Beast Wars II
In the japenese series each maximal comander(known as a "Convoy") carries in thier possesion a less powerful duplicate of the Matrix. When Lio Convoy's Matrix reacted with the Angolmois energy on Gaia, Lio Junior was created. In the BWII Movie, when Beast Convoy(Optimus Primal) was pulled into the conflict his Matrix and the Matrix of Lio Convoy reacted in a way that granted both Convoy's a temperary Power up as Burning Convoy, and Flash Lio Convoy. They then preceded to destroy the ancient Decepticon weapon, Majin Zarak by hitting his third eye with an attack called the "Double Matrix Blast"
Beast Wars Neo
Lio Convoy and Big Convoy both used thier Matricies to upgrade Big Convoy's gun the Big Cannon in to the Matrix Blaster, wich he used to defeat Unicron.

Beast Machines
Unicron Trilogy
In Transformers Cybertron, Optimus Prime uses the Matrix of Leadership to widen Vector Prime's transwarp tunnels.

Car Robots
In Transformers Car Robot God Fire Convoy was powered by Fire Convoy's ( personal Matrix, which also augmented itself with the God Sword (forged by Brave Maximus) and used it to defeat Devil Gigatron
Armada
When Optimus Prime died by standing purposefully in the path of the Hydra Cannon built by Megatron from the three Mini-Con weapons. It was the Mini-Cons themselves, who resurrected him, entering the Matrix and reconstructing a new body for him(as well as forging a new trailer known as Overload), Subsequently, Prime was forced to face the dark part of his soul by Unicron, who forced him to face the fact that on some level, he enjoyed the thrill of combat. Following Unicron's defeat, Prime's denial was sorely tested as Galvatron forced him into one final furious battle, that ended when Galvatron sacrificed himself to end the circle of hate that powered Unicron. Prime survieved this battle, but he disgarded the Matrix and exilled himself as he thought that he was un-worthy<div id="wikia-credits"><br /><br /><small>From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki, a Wikia wiki.</small></div>

The Matrix of Leadership accumulated the Wisdom of the Ages by being a portal to the Allspark. When a Transformer is alive, it grows in knowledge, and when it dies, its Spark returns to the Allspark and adds its experience to the whole. --ItsWalky
I think it's referred to as The PowerPack in the Japanese continuity, and at this is the simplest example of it's functionality - a large battery.
It is also the Prime Matrix. It essentially contains Primus's "blueprints" for the Transformer race, which are continually reinterpreted by Vector Sigma, in association with the knowledge and sparks of those Transformers who have returned to the Allspark. (I suspect that this is why Vector Sigma occasionally requires that the Matrix be brought to it - so that it can be updated)

It is also these days, most likely home to the Creation Matrix, a program which was at one point resident in Optimus Prime (and Buster Witwicky's) head.

It is sometimes referred to as The Autobot Matrix of Leadership, though it seems like this is a mostly ceremonial thing - It is possible to lead the Autobots without it, but it's usually placed in possession of the leader for safekeeping.
At the birth of the Universe, an extradimensional entity known as The One created twin astral beings to reign over the cosmos. One was Primus, the Lord of Light and Order. The other was Unicron, the Lord of Darkness and Chaos. Unicron sought to devour everything that exists and become one with The Void at the end of all things.

Primus was no match for Unicron. But Primus did manage to trap both his and Unicron's essences inside metallic planetoids. Over time, Unicron learned to shape his planetoid into a metal being that was able to transform between planet mode and a robot mode which resembled his original astral form. The two brothers shared a mental link. So long as Primus hid himself in slumber, so did Unicron also sleep. Their war ended, for a time, in stalemate.

The War of the Balance
Grimlock, Jazz, and Bumblebee found themselves transported to the center of Cybertron. In a battle with Bludgeon's Pretenders, a laser blast ricocheted off Grimlock and struck the essence of the sleeping Primus, causing a multiverse-shaking Primal Scream that woke Unicron and alerted him to Primus' location.

The battle between Primus and Unicron began anew. Though Unicron would sometimes be defeated, this is always temporary, and there is a whole multiverse of realities to consume. When Unicron is destroyed in one reality, he will respawn in another, ready to eat again.

Marvel Comics
After the Primal Scream, Unicron headed directly towards Cybertron. He created three Heralds to send ahead of him and prepare the Transformers for his arrival: Hook, Line, and Sinker. He also borrowed a version of Galvatron from another dimension's future in which he was successful in devouring Cybertron.

(Interestingly, Unicron does not seem to possess his "brother's" ability to create life, instead being capable merely of modifying existing lifeforms to meet his demands.)

He also awoke a sleeper cell of Transformers, a brainwashed cult that attacked the two united factions which had newly gathered on Cybertron to face Unicron. These cultists were defeated just as Unicron arrived.

Unicron was so unimaginably big that the mere sight of him froze both Transformer factions into inaction. Unicron was disappointed that it was this easy. He tore apart the planet's surface. It was only the actions of the kidnapped Galvatron which snapped the Transformers out of the terror. But even the united Transformers were unable to hold him off. After being fazed by the Neo-Knight Rapture and temporarily shorted out by Circuit Breaker, it was Optimus Prime who flew towards Unicron and opened the Matrix. The life contained inside caused Unicron to explode.

Unicron showed up a few more times in this universe. He showed up again in 2005 in events similar to his appearance in Transformers: The Movie. In 2007, he used mind control to force Junkions to build him a new body out of the planet of Junk. And in the far, far, future, his essence began to corrupt the Matrix itself, turning Rodimus Prime evil and forcing him into exile.

Transformers: The Movie
In his first documented appearance, Unicron was known as a giant Transformer which devoured everything in his path. After the Battle of Autobot City, Megatron and several dead Decepticons were dumped in space. Unicron reformatted Megatron into Galvatron and out of the dead Decepticons, he created Cyclonus, Scourge, and Scourge's Sweeps. He ordered them to destroy the Matrix.

Galvatron returned with the Matrix, but intended to use it to make Unicron his slave. Unicron ate him. After eating two of Cybertron's moons, Unicron attacked Cybertron. Shockwave and the rest of the Decepticons, at the time in control of Cybertron, fought back, but this had little effect. Unicron swallowed many spaceships, one of which contained the young Autobot Hot Rod. Hot Rod and Galvatron battled deep inside Unicron. Ultimately, Hot Rod was able to retake the Matrix, change into Rodimus Prime, defeat Galvatron, and use the Matrix to destroy Unicron. Unicron's body exploded, though its head remained intact and orbited Cybertron.
Beast Wars Neo
Transformers Universe
After being defeated by the Wreckers, Unicron floated in ruin. Using what energies he had left, he called Transformers from various corners of the multiverse inside him to do battle. He feasted upon the sparks of the losers, growing ever more powerful. Primus countered this by calling his own army from the multiverse, led by Optimus Primal. Primal was able to set free the captives inside Unicron and begin a new war between the Minions of Unicron and the Children of Primus.

Transformers Energon
Transformers Cybertron
Primus' plan to trap Unicron in the heart of a new sun failed, and instead resulted in a black hole that threatened the multiverse. His heralds Ramjet and Nemesis Prime travelled to Cybertron to unleash the Dead Matrix upon Primus' vulnerable essence.

The fate of Unicron is still to be determined.<div id="wikia-credits"><br /><br /><small>From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki, a Wikia wiki.</small></div>

Donny Finkleberg, aka Robot-Master, was a human character in Marvel's Transformers comic book series. Based on Marvel Comics writer and editor Danny Fingeroth.

Comic book writer
Finkleberg was originally a writer for a "famous comic book publishing company" in New York. (Judging by the Hulk and Captain American paintings on the wall, it is probably safe to say he worked for Marvel Comics.) His Robot-Master comic book series had been cancelled, and his idea for a Potato Salad Man graphic novel titled This Man, This Mayonnaise did not fetch interest from his superiors, so Finkleberg was turned away.

Supervillain
It was at this low point point in his career that he was approached by the United States government. III needed a cover story to explain the presence of the Transformers on Earth to panicked American citizens. The idea that a human terrorist controlled the Transformers was decided to be less frightening than the truth, so Finkleberg was paid 50 thousand dollars to dress as Robot-Master and appear in public broadcasts.

When Megatron had ceased movement at the bottom of a strip mine due to lack of fuel, III used this opportunity to claim ownership of the immobile Decepticon leader. Unfortunately, both the Autobots and Decepticons arrived, though the Autobots were forced away by human firepower. After Megatron was refueled by Soundwave, Finkleberg pleaded with Megatron to allow him to continue masquerading as their commander, for the purpose of convincing the public that the Autobots were also their enemies. Megatron agreed, since he saw the value in the plan, which was just about enough to overcome his distaste of humans, even though Finkleberg had repeatedly struck matches on Megatron to light his cigarettes.

Finkleberg resided in the Decepticon base until he decided it was in his best interest to escape and help the Autobots. He fled during an Autobot attack, though he was pursued by Ravage. After taking clothes from an absent campsite, he ran into the Autobot Skids and Charlene, but he brought Ravage with him. Ravage was dropped into a mine shaft, and Skids took Finkleberg with him back to the Ark.

Jerk
While Finkleberg was a captive of the Decepticons, he had learned that seven Autobots had arrived on Earth over the Space Bridge. The travelling Autobots were nowhere to be found, but they did leave a fuel trail. Holding for ransom Finkleberg's cashiers check from III, Optimus Prime ordered Finkleberg and Skids to follow the trail and find the missing Autobots.

Finkleberg shut down Skids and sold him to III.

RAAT (a military subdivision of III), in league with Circuit Breaker, had captured not only the 7 missing Autobots, but also the Aerialbots, and now added Skids to their number. Meanwhile, the Battlechargers had also arrived on Earth and were defacing public property across the United States. With the Autobots' ranks depleted, Finkleberg realized it was his fault there was no one available to stop the Decepticons' graffiti. He convinced Circuit Breaker to control a robot built from the bodies of the captured Autobots to defeat the Battlechargers in exchange for the Autobots' freedom. Although they defeated the two Decepticons, they were not able to stop them in time from writing "HUMANS ARE WIMPS" on the Statue of Liberty.

In a last-minute change of conscience, Finkleberg donated the 50 thousand dollars he earned for his treachery towards the clean-up efforts.<div id="wikia-credits"><br /><br /><small>From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki, a Wikia wiki.</small></div>
