Hailing from East Germany, Buster was a deejay before he and his older brother, Hydra were recruited by the Decepticons. He is an enigmatic sort who does not really have much of a personality of his own, instead serving as a (vaguely creepy) extension of his brother's whim, following his lead in combat and turning to him for direction in all things. While Buster is not nearly as cruel and detached as the sociopathic Hydra, he remains a fearsome fighter of great power.

As a Godmaster, Buster is bonded to a Transtector from the G Nebula, which he can combine with his brother’s Transtector to form the giant jet Darkwings. Like all Godmasters, Buster can manipulate Chōkon Power, with his specialty being the control of wind. Additionally, Buster possesses an affinity for birds, owning some and even being able to convey his thoughts to them.
Buster and Hydra were in North America when they were approached by Giga and Mega, agents of the Decepticon leader Devil Z, and bonded to a pair of Transtectors that had taken the forms of jet planes. A Hero Is Chosen - His Name Is Ginrai The brothers were brought to a hidden island, where they were trained in the use of their new Godmaster powers until it was decided that they join up with the rest of the Decepticons already operating under the command of Blood. Blood's Pretenders and Headmaster Juniors were summoned to the island, where Buster and Hydra, disguised in suits of medieval armor, promptly attacked and bested them as a demonstration of their powers. Blood bristled at the notion that two humans could be stronger than true Decepticons, and challenged the two Godmasters to prove themselves by attacking the Mt Fuji Foothills Hang Gliding Competition Tournament. It just so happened that the Autobot Headmaster Juniors were participating in the contest, leading to a battle between the Godmaster brothers and the Autobot Pretenders. Although they had their Autobot foes massively overpowered, the arrival of Metalhawk left them outnumbered, and the brothers opted to withdraw. Super Warriors - The Godmaster Brothers Buster and Hydra next went into battle when the Decepticons attacked the tidal power plant on Viscas Island, but the battle was brought to an end when the Autobot Diver was able to lodge his Sea Axe in Buster’s arm. Unable to heal the wound, Buster panicked and Hydra called retreat. Once they returned to the Decepticon base, Buster cursed himself, believing that he was less powerful than his brother. A Fierce Battle!! The Autobots Are in Trouble

When Mega and Giga revealed that there were other Godmaster on Earth, Buster and Hydra were charged with locating them before the Autobots did. Hydra decided that they would search North America first, on the basis that it was where they became Godmasters themselves, and with a little help from the Headmaster Juniors, the brothers were soon on the trail of a mysterious truck that had been rumoured to be able to heal any damage to itself. The brothers found the truck crashed at the bottom of a cliff along with the Autobot Diver, but when they attempted to take it, the truck's driver, Ginrai, revealed that he was indeed a Godmaster, and that that truck was his Transtector, by transforming to robot mode for the first time. Shocked by what they had witnessed, Buster and Hydra retreated. A Hero Is Chosen - His Name Is Ginrai Before long, however, the brothers were back on Ginrai's trail, and attacked numerous tractor trailers in their search for him, killing many of Ginrai's trucker friends before finally locating him. Buster held off the other Autobots while Hydra battled Ginrai, but the brothers were ultimately bested once more. Ginrai: God On of Rage!!

When Cancer was captured by the Autobots for interrogation, Buster and Hydra arrived to retrieve him. The Autobots released their prisoner, but Hydra immediately discovered a homing beacon planted on Cancer's shirt, and attacked the Autobots in retribution. During the fight, Buster seized the Autobot Minerva and placed his blaster to her head, only to have Cancer snatch her away, begging that nobody be killed. This distraction turned the tide of the battle and forced the villains to fall back. A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva Things didn't go much better during the brothers' next battle with Ginrai, at Mount Yatsugatake in Nagano, where the brothers were blasted by Ginrai's newly-obtained trailer. Friend or Foe!? The True Form of the Monster!!

Hungry for revenge, Buster and Hydra were not content simply with destroying Ginrai, but also sought to discredit him and the Autobots into the bargain. Luring Ginrai into a battle in a city, the brothers loudly blamed him for starting the battle so that the population could overhear, and then summoned some Lobclaw Seacons to finish the Autobot off. Luckily, Diver and Lander arrived to deal with the Seacons, and the enraged Ginrai unleashed a blast of Chōkon Power that saw the villains off. Eliminate the Godmaster Ginrai

Learning that Ginrai had appeared on a television show in an attempt to find the remaining Godmasters on Earth, Buster and Hydra tried menacing a producer at the TV station in order to find out what Ginrai had learned from the correspondence that had come in. The tactic had no luck, so they resorted to searching the continent with the help of the Pretenders; the Pretenders later found Ginrai in Canada, but were unable to stop the next Godmaster, Lightfoot from joining the Autobots. Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter After this failure, the Decepticons were even more determined to recruit the next Godmaster, a Canadian forest patrolman named Ranger. During the battle with the Autobots that resulted in the Rocky Mountains, however, Buster and Hydra were left badly outnumbered and had to flee when the Headmaster Juniors abandoned them out of spite after they carelessly put Wilder in danger in their zeal to destroy Ginrai. An Enemy? The Third Godmaster, Ranger

Buster and Hydra stepped back from the front lines for a short time, instead trying their hand at formulating a plan for the Pretenders to carry out. This outlandish plot to capture doctors was soon botched, much to their distaste, Save the Little Girl! The Chōjin Warriors, the Godmasters and they again took an active hand in matters, starting with a scheme to divide and conquer the Autobot Godmasters, starting with Lightfoot. Hydra put his makeup talents to use disguising himself and Buster as reporters so that they could get close to Lightfoot's father Leftfoot and take him prisoner. The brothers sent a message to Lightfoot, who was faced with the choice of either joining the Autobots or having his Master-Braces (and hands!) cut off, but luckily, the other Autobot Godmasters soon arrived to help give the Darkwings Brothers one of their most severe beatings yet. When Buster's arm was actually torn off, the horrified Hydra called retreat, but they weren't above spitefully blowing up some factory buildings as they left. Life? Death? The Desperate Lightfoot

After serving as chauffeurs for Mega when she was posing as a fortune teller, Expose the Decepticons' Dark Trap! Buster and Hydra were next charged with destroying Ginrai's trailer. By posing as a movie producer, Hydra was able to lure Ginrai into a desert under auspices of performing some stunt-driving, while Buster planted the explosive charges that would be used in the stunt. A hidden, extra charge separated Ginrai from his trailer, and the brothers combined into Darkwings in an attempt to destroy the latter component. Before they could strike, Ginrai merged with his trailer and blew the villains out of the air with his Special Fire Guts attack. Ginrai was, however, subsequently badly wounded by Giga and Mega's combined form, Overlord, Super Ginrai Gets Blown Away in the Desert!? and the brothers decided to strike while the Autobots were a man down by attempting to destroy the Godbomber drone the heroes were in the midst of constructing. The brothers were duped into following a disguised truck into the nearby mountains, thinking that it was carrying Godbomber, when in fact, it was simply the Autobot, Road King, who joined with Ranger and Lightfoot in beating the brothers to a pulp. Will the Bomber Project Be Destroyed!?

In the next attempt to destroy Godbomber, Buster and Hydra attacked a Middle-East oil refinery in order to draw the Autobots out, only to be met with failure once more. Overlord - Terror of the Chōkon Tornado The Decepticons tried yet again, this time by separating Godbomber from Ginrai and having Buster and Hydra target the unprotected drone. With a little help from Sixknight, however, the Autobot Headmaster Juniors discovered that they were able to pilot Godbomber and personally took out Buster. Destroy Godbomber!!

When the final Godmaster, Clouder, joined the Decepticons, the villains installed him within the Autobot ranks as a spy, who fed them inside information on the Autobots' base. Buster and Hydra proceeded to attack a nearby city in order to occupy the attentions of Ginrai and the Godmasters while the rest of the Decepticons initiated an all-out attack on the Autobots' headquarters Secret Orders! Destroy the Autobot Base!! and although the brothers were eventually defeated, the larger plan to destroy the base succeeded. Disaster! The Autobot Base Explodes

Soon thereafter, when BlackZarak arrived on Earth, Buster and Hydra traveled into space with the rest of the Decepticons when the villain prepared to unleash the unholy Death-Para Machine upon the Earth. Crisis! The Day of Human Extinction Later, they battled Lightfoot in northern Europe, God Ginrai - Save Cancer!? and when the Autobots attacked the Decepticon base in force, clashed with Ginrai and the Godmasters, until Devil Z brought the battle to an end by fusing with BlackZarak and collapsing the base into an undersea chasm. The Ultimate Combination!! BlackZarak, the New Lifeform

Frustrated by their numerous defeats at the hands of Ginrai, Buster demanded to know why they were unable to best their Autobot opponent. Hydra opined that he and Buster were weakened by their humanity, and the brothers petitioned Devil Z to use his powers to transform them into true robots. The evil being complied, fusing the brothers with their Transtectors and replacing their Jinchōkon Power—lost to them along with their humanity—with his own Devil Power. The Darkwings Brothers attacked Ginrai in the Grand Canyon, and Ginrai, appalled at what they had done to themselves, called upon his God Fire Guts attack. The brothers responded by diving at Ginrai in a flaming "Hellfire Attack", resulting in a huge explosion when the attacks collided. The battered brothers limped away from the battle, declaring it a draw. Battle to the Death!! God Ginrai VS Darkwings Reborn While Ginrai then went on to battle Overlord, Buster and Hydra attacked Lightfoot and Road King, trapping them in a cave. They then took on the Autobot Headmaster Juniors, almost cutting off Shūta's arms before Ginrai returned and saw them off. Autobots! Desperate Attack!!

During the final conflict on the Matterhorn, Buster and Hydra unveiled the mightiest weapon in their arsenal, the "Mach X Flight", allowing them to move faster than the eye could follow. They did not predict, however, that Ginrai could replicate the effect with his own Chōkon Power, and the Autobot once again proved to be their better, searing their bodies with his burning backwash and sending them crashing into the mountain. The brothers rejoined the other Decepticons at the mountain's peak, where BlackZarak unleashed his fury on the two failures, pummelling them until Overlord stepped in to try and stop the punishment. This only resulted in BlackZarak turning on him as well, at which point Ginrai arrived to save his foes and engage BlackZarak in final battle. Malevolent and Inhuman! The True Form of Devil Z As the Autobot leader battled BlackZarak, Buster and Hydra recovered from their beating, with Hydra calmly writing it off as proof that they were weak, and that they needed to fight even harder. At that point, the Autobot Godmasters arrived and Buster and Hydra plunged into battle right away, despite the fact that they were on the verge of collapse. Eventually, they could fight no further, and combined into Darkwings to flee. In the moments that followed, Ginrai succeeded in destroying BlackZarak and Devil Z, which resulted in all the other humans becoming separated from their Transtectors. The Transtectors themselves continued to live as true super-robot lifeforms, and Buster and Hydra promptly joined with the other Decepticons in departing Earth. A Battle... and Then...
Decepticon leaders Giga and Mega unveiled their Godmaster warriors, Buster and Hydra, to the world by sending them to "welcome" the Autobot Godmaster, Ginrai, to Japan. After bombing Tokyo on their way to Harumi Wharf, Buster and Hydra merged into Darkwings and immediately attacked Metalhawk and the Autobot Headmaster Juniors, who were at the wharf awaiting Ginrai's arrival. After taking the Juniors out of the fight, the brothers then transformed into robot mode to tackle Metalhawk, but thankfully, Ginrai chose that moment to make his entrance and promptly launched the villains over the horizon with a blast of Chōkon Power. {{storylink|Enter on the Stage!
When the Autobots traveled to the planet Athenia so that Ginrai could be appointed Supreme Commander, Buster and Hydra followed, joining up with the other Decepticons out in space and attacking the planet with Scramble 7. The Autobots were able to defeat Scramble 7, but Buster and Hydra informed them that they had been united under the leadership of Devil Z, and were heading back to Earth to await the Autobots' return. {{storylink|The Battle Begins! Hydra took Ginrai on alone, but at an inopportune moment, the rays of the sun reflected off a picture Ginrai was carrying and blinded Hydra, forcing him to call for a retreat. Ginrai: God On of Rage!!

When Cancer was captured by the Autobots for interrogation, Hydra and Buster arrived to retrieve him. The Autobots released their prisoner, but Hydra immediately discovered a homing beacon planted on Cancer's shirt, and attacked the Autobots in retribution. While battling Ginrai, Hydra was distracted when Cancer protected the kindly Autobot Minerva from Buster, allowing Ginrai to turn the tide of the battle and force the villains to fall back. A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva Things didn't go much better during the brothers' next battle with Ginrai, at Mount Yatsugatake in Nagano, where there brothers were blasted by Ginrai's newly-obtained trailer. {{storylink|Friend or Foe!?

Hungry for revenge, Hydra and Buster were not content simply with destroying Ginrai, but also sought to discredit him and the Autobots into the bargain.

Learning that Ginrai had appeared on television show in an attempt to find the remaining Godmasters on Earth, Hydra and Buster tried menacing a producer at the TV station in order to find out what Ginrai had learned from the correspondence that had come in. During the battle with the Autobots that resulted in the Rocky Mountains, however, Hydra and Buster were left badly outnumbered and had to flee when the Headmaster Juniors abandoned them out of spite after they carelessly put Wilder in danger in their zeal to destroy Ginrai. An Enemy? The Third Godmaster, Ranger

Hydra and Buster stepped back from the front lines for a short time, instead trying their hand at formulating a plan for the Pretenders to carry out. The brothers sent a message to Lightfoot, who was faced with the choice of either joining the Autobots or having his Master-Braces (and hands!) cut off by Hydra, but luckily, the other Autobot Godmasters soon arrived to help give the Darkwings Brothers one of their most severe beatings yet. When Buster's arm was actually torn off, the horrified Hydra called retreat, but they weren't above spitefully blowing up some factory buildings as they left. {{storylink|Life? Death?
After serving as chauffeurs for Mega when she was posing as a fortune teller, Expose the Decepticons' Dark Trap! Hydra and Buster were next charged with destroying Ginrai's trailer. His acting talent again in full swing, Hydra posed as a movie producer named "Billy Hyler" and talked Ginrai into performing some stunt-driving for a movie filming in the desert. Buster was able to plant an explosive charge that separated Ginrai from his trailer, and the brothers combined into Darkwings in an attempt to destroy the latter component.

In the next attempt to destroy Godbomber, Hydra and Buster attacked a Middle-East oil refinery in order to draw the Autobots out. Even the cold, cruel Hydra was taken aback, however, when Giga asked if they were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, and later confided in Buster that while he was not afraid of dying in battle, he wasn't willing to sacrifice himself just for victory. Although this plan to destroy Godbomber met with failure, Overlord - Terror of the Chōkon Tornado the Decepticons tried yet again, this time by separating Godbomber from Ginrai and having Hydra and Buster target the unprotected drone. With a little help from Sixknight, however, the Autobot Headmaster Juniors discovered that they were able to pilot Godbomber and were able to defeat the Darkwings Brothers. Destroy Godbomber!!

When the final Godmaster, Clouder, sought out the Decepticons and requested to join them, Hydra had King Poseidon attack him so that he could prove his strength. Appearance!! The Final Godmaster Clouder passed the test, and the Decepticons installed him within the Autobot ranks as a spy, who fed them inside information on the Autobots' base. Hydra and Buster proceeded to attack a nearby city in order to occupy the attentions of Ginrai and the Godmasters while the rest of the Decepticons initiated an all-out attack on the Autobots' headquarters {{storylink|Secret Orders!
Having been left to die in the conflagration that destroyed the Autobot base, Clouder turned on his former allies when he resurfaced, and offered to lead the Autobots to a Decepticon base. His discussion with Shūta Gō, however, was overheard by Hydra, who radioed ahead to the Decepticon base, allowing them to lay a trap for the two youths. God Ginrai: Showdown at the Decepticon Base Later, when the Autobots attacked the Decepticon base in force, Hydra and Buster battled Ginrai and the Godmasters, until Devil Z brought the battle to and end by fusing with BlackZarak and collapsing the base into an undersea chasm. {{storylink|The Ultimate Combination!!

After their numerous defeats at the hands of Ginrai, Hydra came to the conclusion that he and Buster were weakened by their humanity, and the brothers petitioned Devil Z to use his powers to transform them into true robots. God Ginrai VS Darkwings Reborn While Ginrai then went on to battle Overlord, Hydra and Buster attacked Lightfoot and Road King, trapping them in a cave. During the final conflict on the Matterhorn, Hydra and Buster unveiled the mightiest weapon in their arsenal, the "Mach X Flight", allowing them to move faster than the eye could follow. The True Form of Devil Z As the Autobot leader battled BlackZarak, Hydra and Buster recovered from their beating, with Hydra calmly writing it off as proof that they were weak, and that they needed to fight even harder. At that point, the Autobot Godmasters arrived and Hydra and Buster plunged into battle right away, despite the fact that they were on the verge of collapse. Eventually, they could fight no further, and combined into Darkwings to flee. In the moments that followed, Ginrai succeeded in destroying BlackZarak and Devil Z, which resulted in all the other humans becoming separated from their Transtectors. The Transtectors themselves continued to live as true super-robot lifeforms, and Hydra and Buster promptly joined with the other Decepticons in departing Earth. A Battle... and Then...
Decepticon leaders Giga and Mega unveiled their Godmaster warriors, Hydra and Buster, to the world by sending them to "welcome" the Autobot Godmaster, Ginrai, to Japan. After bombing Tokyo on their way to Harumi Wharf, Hydra and Buster merged into Darkwings and immediately attacked Metalhawk and the Autobot Headmaster Juniors, who were at the wharf awaiting Ginrai's arrival. When the Autobots traveled to the planet Athenia so that Ginrai could be appointed Supreme Commander, Hydra and Buster followed, joining up with the other Decepticons out in space and attacking the planet with Scramble 7. The Autobots were able to defeat Scramble 7, but Buster and Hydra informed them that they had been united under the leadership of Devil Z, and were heading back to Earth to await the Autobots' return. {{storylink|The Battle Begins! Soundwave
:Soundwave is a Decepticon from the Transformers Animated continuity family.

Soundwave is technology gone wrong. Machines are superior to humans: more logical, more intelligent, and longer lasting. It does not compute that humans control their robotic helpers, and Soundwave aims to lead the robot proletariat to rise against their fleshling bourgeoisie. The Decepticon cause is logical in Soundwave's optics, and he joined them in the hopes of overthrowing the human/capitalist oppressors. With an army of subservient mechanoids that he can control through powerful signals, that uprising just might be possible.

His arsenal of weapons and gadgets is unusually large, and includes powerful speakers, wiretaps, voice modulators, sonic signals that control lesser robots, and the uncanny ability to assimilate other devices into his body.

He has a pet bird that transforms into a guitar and a pet bat that changes into a keytar. He also on occasion has been known to command an army of diminutive drones of himself.

I am Soundwave. I am Decepticon. The revolution begins now.

Soundwave was a robot originally designed by Megatron. Megatron suggested Isaac Sumdac give Soundwave to his daughter as a birthday present... this seemingly kind act, of course, had a sinister ulterior motive. Megatron knew Sari would use her AllSpark-enhanced Key on Soundwave, which would allow him to upgrade... and ultimately become Megatron's new body. What Megatron didn't count on, though, was that the upgrades would actually make Soundwave self-aware and able to control other robots with sound. Additionally, Soundwave concluded that machines should be the masters of the world, and humans would be an ideal slave force. Megatron decided that if Soundwave couldn't be a new body, he would be a new soldier.

Megatron tried to convince Soundwave to join the Decepticons, take control of the machines in Detroit, and steal the AllSpark Key. At first Soundwave refused, but then Megatron told Soundwave that the Autobots lived to serve the humans. Once convinced, Soundwave promptly upgraded himself into a transforming body using controlled robots, and began his task. He started by taking over all the robots in Detroit and using Tutor Bot to kidnap Sari Sumdac. The revolution of the robots was, however, quickly opposed by the Autobots. When Bulkhead came to rescue Sari, Soundwave blasted him with a sonic blast. Soundwave then appealed to Bulkhead to join the revolution because he did not want to hurt a fellow machine, reminding him how Bulkhead had been replaced by Soundwave himself. Bulkhead acted as if he was about to kill Sari... then used his wrecking ball to shatter Soundwave. The machines were restored to their normal operational status, and the day was saved.

Unknown to all others, however, Soundwave still functioned as a small piece even after Bulkhead pummeled him into scrap metal. Sound and Fury

A newly reassembled Soundwave was revealed to be in control of an army of Soundwave toys that have been marketed and sold by Porter C. Powell just in time for Christmas. One such toy was among the wrapped gifts at Autobot base. This toy freed himself from his packaging where he proceeded to poison the Autobots' oilnog, which made the Autobots eager to take a stasis nap. Hoping to reprogram them into Decepticons, Soundwave plugged the sleeping Autobots into a virtual world where they were led to believe they had been turned into humans. However, Optimus Prime and Prowl eventually deduced that they were in a virtual world, and managed—by force of will—to change their avatars into their Cybertronian forms. Soundwave decided that he had to accelerate the reprogramming. However, Sari Sumdac used her previously discovered Cybertronian abilities to try to interfere with his plans. Laserbeak was able to drive her off, and Soundwave used Ratbat to begin a more accelerated reprogramming. Human Error, Part I

Unfortunately, the damage that Sari dealt to Soundwave in their scuffle impeded the process of reprogramming the Autobots. That was of little consequence, as Soundwave had a back-up plan: using the toys Powell made in his likeness, Soundwave was able to brainwash every human in Detroit, ordering them to "destroy the techno-organic". Soundwave then turned his attention back to the Autobots, however, Prowl had freed himself using his "processor-over-matter" technique, but Soundwave quickly rectified this and returned the virtual Autobots into their human bodies. Exploiting their desire to escape from his trap, Soundwave entered the virtual world with an oddly-colored avatar and led them into a trap, where their reprogramming was completed.

After Sari Sumdac assembled a group of "Substitute Autobots" to free her friends, Soundwave gained the element of surprise when he burst out from under the street and brought forth his newly reprogrammed Autobot minions. Soundwave held a significant tactical advantage over the inept group, but when the miserable technorganic changed tactics and focused on individual attacks, Soundwave found himself disoriented as he tried to control five minions at once. Soundwave was able to regain the upper hand when the substitute Autobots took out all but one of the reprogrammed Autobots: leaving him with full control over Optimus Prime. However, Prowl was able to break free of Soundwave's control using processor-over-matter and disabled Soundwave's control over his comrades. Soundwave then deployed Ratbat to deal with the meddling cyber-ninja and fought servo-to-servo with Optimus Prime, who then grabbed Laserbeak and forced him to transform back into guitar mode. Soundwave called Ratbat back to him in keytar mode and the two battled each other with music, until Optimus changed tactics and slashed him to pieces with his own ax. Soundwave was reduced back to his smaller form and seemed to be in Autobot custody... until Laserbeak grabbed his master and retreated in the sky. Human Error, Part II

: Soundwave transforms into a pseudo-Scion xB that got a "Pimp My Ride" music style treatment. That's awesome. He also comes with his partner Laserbeak, who changes from a guitar to a bird. Also awesome. His chest can open in robot mode, so he can "eject" anything that fits there (but not what you want). Awesome too. Laserbeak can mount on the top of the roof of Soundwave's car mode and perch on his arm (or store on his back) in robot mode. Very awesome. And the volume/tone knobs are just the right size to fit in the screwholes on his arms, so he can look like he's strumming Laserbeak's guitar form. <u>Extremely</u> awesome.

:Between the presence of Soundwave's huge backpack and his painted eyes, his lightpiping feature is well and truly neutered. Not so awesome.
Instead of Laserbeak, he comes with Ratbat, a black keytar that turns into a bat with a lavender head and wings. Supremely awesome.

: Electrostatic Soundwave's legs are slightly misassembled: the portion immediately below the knee ball joints are swapped, preventing his legs from straightening out. Fixing this is simply a matter of unscrewing one screw on each leg, popping the parts out and trading them.
Following the defeat of Zeta Prime in the Iacon Vaults, the Autobot leader was transferred to Kaon prison facility where he was tortured by Soundwave. In the hopes of luring Optimus to Kaon, Megatron and Soundwave orchestrated events that allowed Zeta Prime to send a message to the Autobots revealing of his survival. Even though the Autobots recognized it for the trap it was, Optimus nevertheless led Bumblebee and Sidewipe allowing themselves to be captured and briefly imprisoned. They broke free, releasing all of the other Autobots in the prison and fought their way to Soundwave's laboratory. Soundwave protected himself behind an impenetrable forcefield and unleashed Rumble, Frenzy, and Laserbeak upon the Autobots. Any attempt by Optimus and his team to free Zeta was met with a gleeful attack by Rumble and his compatriots. However, when they received damage, Soundwave was forced to leave his protective shield to administer repairs, leaving him open to attack. Eventually, Soundwave and his minions were soon overwhelmed and had to retreat but not before mortally wounding Zeta Prime. Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)
And if that wasn't bad enough, Megatron can also access his fusion cannon while using it. It will thoroughly ruin your day if you come across it.
Fiction
Revenge of the Fallen movie
After his resurrection by the Doctor and the Constructicons, Megatron gained a new form and as a result, new weapons; one of which was his death-lock pincer. During his battle with Optimus Prime over Sam Witwicky, Megatron extended the death-lock pincer for his battle with the last Prime, but Optimus countered by unsheathing his own Energon Sword and laid the smack down on the Lord High Protector. When Starscream and Grindor arrived, Megatron sheathed the blade, but popped it back out while talking about whether or not Sam was worth the future of the Cybertronian race, making the fleshling a little panicky. However, when Optimus turned his back after killing Grindor, Megatron impaled Optimus from behind with the blade on the pincer. Just to make sure the job was done, Megatron then fired a blast from his fusion cannon, extinguishing Optimus Prime's spark.

Later, after he was revived and received parts from Jetfire, Optimus attempted to kill The Fallen and avenge his lineage. Megatron came to his master's aid by slashing Optimus with his death-lock pincher...and Optimus countered by breaking the blade in half with his bare hands! To top that off, he then forced Megatron to eat a blast from his own fusion cannon in the face, then sliced off the arm. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
Notes
* 600 psi actually is pretty damn wimpy. A pro boxer can deliver a 1300 psi 3-inch punch. So 600 psi probably couldn't kill you.
* The figure for his "burn rate" is slightly more convincing - 300kJ/sec is 300 kW, on the order of 400 horsepower.
* The term "Murder Arm" was generated by the fandom for this type of weaponry.
* Megatron's original arm is visible as Optimus pulls off the pincer and fires it at Megatron's face.
* Probably an homage to this Megatron (BW)
Encased in ice at the bottom of the ocean?
Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no ice at the bottom of the ocean. Ice is less dense than water so any particles cold enough to freeze float above those who aren't cold enough. (Contrary to normal laws of convection; ice is weird like that) so Megatron and the Decepticons wouldn't be icy at all. Just really cold and crushed under immense water pressure.

: Indeed, because water increases in volume when it freezes,t the freezing point of water decreases with pressure, i.e. it becomes harder to freeze water which is under pressure. This is the reason why liquid oceans are believed to exist under Europa's icy coating, for example. 137.195.68.169 07:21, 29 June 2009 (EDT)
I don't know the name of it although... nope, can't find it on Amazon. Can someone else comment on this matter? Has anything been shown to support this or has anyone else seen this guide? The store owner said it was just put out that day, so this may be new. IDK. --Rideonshootingstarxx 20:57, 7 June 2009 (EDT)
:This is correct. In the adaptation he assumes both alt-forms.--RosicrucianTalk 21:18, 14 June 2009 (EDT)
::In the adaptations he never really "becomes" a triple-changer. At least they don't mention that he ever gains the ability. He just shown to be able to transform into three modes. I'm not sure if we are supposed to believe he always had the ability but didn't have an occasion to turn into a tank before or what. - Starfield 21:36, 14 June 2009 (EDT)
:::Having bought the book now, I can confirm that it says Megatron's status as a triple-changer is the result of his revival, and that it is fairly rare amongst Cybertronians.--RosicrucianTalk 21:19, 20 June 2009 (EDT)
:::Slight problem. In the novels and what not, he is distinctly described as retaining his jet mode. In the actual film, all scenes where he uses the jet, well, lack it User:Eire
::::Not really a problem. Adaptations have been mismatched before, and as long as one source calls him a a triple-changer, in those exact words, it's valid. We don't really need to reconcile the adaptations. That's not our job.--RosicrucianTalk 21:39, 20 June 2009 (EDT)
:::::From what I remember in the movie you never get a clear look at his flight mode, just the blue glow of his afterburners in the distance. He definitely has a tank mode, but I couldn't tell whether his flight mode is just the tank with the jet engines turned on or a separate vehicle mode, or the tank with wings... : Do you mean when he lands on the skyscraper, or was there another instance? I figured that he was just continuing on the momentum when he popped out of flying tank mode. ::I was going by memory of the movie. Of course Megatron and the other Decepticons swam up from the abyss. That is multi-ton metal robots swimming to the surface. That is almost flying. Then when they got to open air, I seem to remember them just flying away in robot-mode, but I can't say for certain without seeing it again. - Starfield 10:47, 28 June 2009 (EDT)
:::That's right, I'd forgotten about that. We should check whether his boosters were in some sort of "jetpack configuration" for that shot (like Starscream's thrusters), that would square it up. As long as users such as Walky are (rightly) removing the reviewish comments from the toy descriptions, is there any way one of us can rewrite Movie 1 Legends Megatron's description? The whole thing is taking shots at the toy. If it's inappropriate for the larger Megatrons in the line, then it's inappropriate for this one as well. [[User:Fiction Alchemist|C. V. ==ROTF Megatron prototype on the back of the box==
:"In a rather bizarre twist, the back of megatron's box depicts him with no feet, the foot part of the threads simply did not exist in the test shot prototype. It also appears the threads were originally longer. The button to hold the blade back did not exist either. The prototype even had a production error: the small wheels molded on the back threads are molded on the wrong side, thus they end up on the top of the threads instead of the bottom." I've originaly posted this with they toy after looking at the box for some time. The toy realy did not have feet like the final toy, the threads were also alot shorter then the final toy. == Triple change: misinformation or abandoned concept? ==

The article states that The Movie Universe and comic adaptation created the idea of Megatron being a triple changer. However, the novelization mentions that he's a fighter jet several times, and that he takes his tank mode during the battle in Egypt. Additionally, the previsual shots shown on the special two-disc pack show Megatron chasing down Optimus Prime while in jet mode. Is it possible that Megatron really was meant to be a triple changer, and it was simply dropped from the final cut? We an cite plenty of stuff like that happening in the adaptations. -- SFH 20:57, 23 October 2009 (EDT)
