Should Dark Skyfire get his own page? His bio clearly establishes him as a different character. Terrortron 16:12, 1 May 2010 (EDT)
:Is that why it says "he operated in the same organization as Skyfire", in the Dark Skyfire section of the article? I'm guessing this means that "Skyfire" and "Dark Skyfire" are two separate entities. By th way, that section of the article uses the word "Destron" instead of "Decepticon". I'm pretty sure that's against wiki policy. Anyway, split page ? Item42 23:49, 17 June 2010 (EDT)
::Destron is the Japanese name for the Decepticons. Henkei Henkei is a Japanese toyline/fiction, and is probably used on Skyfire's bio itself. So, uh, why would using "Destron" be against policy? --Jeysie 00:04, 18 June 2010 (EDT)
:::Either way, if the article was split he'd be listed as a Decepticon. Terrortron 05:26, 18 June 2010 (EDT)
:::Maybe not against policy, but I thought using English-based names was the standard. The sections of Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity regarding Japanese fiction still call him "Optimus Prime", and not "Convoy". The section on Kup (G1) regarding the Headmasters cartoon use "Kup" and not "Chea"/"Cha". From Here to Alternity uses the word "Autobots" in the article itself. So, my point is, English-based names are used even when summarising Japanese fiction. Thus, having "Destron" while referring to "Decepticon" within an article here is rather strange from what I can tell.
Just curious, what's the rationale behind having the G1 cartoon stuff here rather than on a Skyfire page? - SanityOrMadness 15:03, 11 October 2009 (EDT)
"Jetfire" in G.I. Joe
I knew I had these somewhere. From G.I. Joe: Special Missions #5:

Slip-Stream and "Jetfire"

Question/response about it from issue 7 letters page

I dunno if this should go on Jetfire's page, on the G.I. Joe page, or what. Issue #5 is dated June 1987, meaning it was published after the G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover (dated November 1986 to February 1987). Or is this exchange already brought up somewhere? --Monzo 04:54, 4 April 2010 (EDT)
Dark Skyfire

Autobot Leader Jetfire
I see the wiki has a small blurb and a bad scan of the Dutch comic featuring Jetfire as leader of the autobots. Are you wiki people aware that his initial Dutch MB released toy also marks him as leader? He has a multilanguage techspec and is only leader in Dutch moon talk ;)
I could take some pics, scans, whatever if you guys want? Prime was only ever autobot commander. Technically Jetfire outranks him here. Here's a quick picture. Argus

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/argusshaitan/IMAG0133.jpg
:Argus, do you have the minicomic that depicts Jetfire as Autobot leader? A full scan of that would be amazing - I don't think that's ever been on the internet. --Monzo 10:20, 19 August 2010 (EDT)
::Bizarre that his Dutch function would be completely different than those of the other translations--especially when it seems they all have the same motto. --Thylacine 2000 10:28, 19 August 2010 (EDT)
:::I do. It's been on the net though. I donated a copy for free to some guy using the nick Ginrai who was all Jetfire crazy back in the day. No idea where my leaflets are at the moment though but I do own a good enough scanner these days. Back then just giving a copy away was cheaper than having it scanned :)
The function and reasons for even the real Optimus being called Jetfire in the initial translations are allready in the Wiki I think. The motto's are indeed all the same bar some translation related minor details. Some words just don't map 100% onto another. --84.241.248.128 09:14, 29 September 2010 (EDT)
:While I'll give you that "guardian del aire" and "luftkampfer" are the same (and even stretch the point for "gardien spatial", for "aerospace guardian"), "leider van de autobots" is nowhere near the same. It is a very obvious translation of "leader of the autobots" or "autobot leader". --Khajidha 08:39, 29 September 2010 (EDT)
