The Decepticons approach an asteroid belt in deep space, searching for a material known as [[isodrite]]. As Galvatron rants about crushing his enemies and everyone else, Ratbat finds an isodrite deposit -- already being mined by the Autobots. A battle ensues, during which Galvatron spends nearly as much time bashing his own troops aside as he does firing at the Autobots. With his "help", the bemused Autobots make a clean escape aboard Sky Lynx.

Back on Chaar, Motormaster and Swindle have words with Cyclonus: either do something about Galvatron's madness, or face rebellion. A holographic image of a Quintesson appears to Cyclonus, and advises him that there are planets which specialize in repairing damaged minds, such as [[Torkulon]]. Not knowing what else to do, Cyclonus considers the idea, while the Quintessons gloat among themselves that shortly they will have several less Transformers to deal with -- including the "most dangerously unpredictable of them all."

Cyclonus lies to Galvatron, informing him that the Autobots are resting after their most recent skirmish on Torkulon; the deranged leader eagerly takes the bait, flying to the planet with Cyclonus and the Sweeps. Upon landing, Galvatron threatens several alien flesh creatures, demanding them to hand over Ultra Magnus. The Torkulons arrive shortly; when Galvatron predictably refuses their orders for non-violence, they restrain him. Galvatron quickly realizes Cyclonus has deceived him. Galvatron is carried away to begin his therapy, while Cyclonus fills out a small ream of paperwork.

As the therapy proceeds, Scourge has his doubts -- "This is stupid! Let's get him out of here!" Cyclonus says to at least give it a chance. The Torkulons are unsuccessful in getting Galvatron to talk about his problems, and even less successful when they have him put together external objects to repair his damaged psyche: Galvatron builds himself a blaster and tries to escape. Finally they attempt "exo-drama" where patients act out their problems but a bouncing alien screaming at Galvatron finally causes him to snap further, shouting back that "I'll give you something to scream about!!" Galvatron becomes immune to the electromagnetic restraints of the Torkulons; they throw everything they have at him, restraining him for their last resort - the Alia solution.

The chief therapist reveals that Torkulon itself is a living planet, and can manifest itself in the form of insectoid creatures that consume the damaged portions of those who cannot be helped, in effect lobotomizing the planet's victims and leaving them mindless. Cyclonus protests and demands Galvatron's release, but he and Scourge are also restrained by the Torkulons.

The Alia begin to feed on Galvatron who continues to resist: "You have no right to change what I am!" The Torkulon doctor informs him "You've already been changed; that's the problem." Cyclonus can barely watch as his leader's mind is invaded by Torkulon -- but something goes wrong. The madness of Galvatron proves to be too strong for the living planet, causing it to malfunction. In the chaos, Galvatron, Scourge and Cyclonus are released from the planet's grasp. After taking a few shots at Cyclonus for getting him in this mess, Galvatron fights to the center of the planet, having seen into its mind while it was inside his. The planet fears Galvatron's madness and destructive potential and attempts to restrain him, but Galvatron powers his way through to its living-computer core. Several cannon mode blasts render the entire planet inoperable. Galvatron informs Cyclonus he will now destroy whatever is left, and warns Cyclonus against stopping him.

After the planet is reduced to smoke and rubble, Galvatron gloats over the beauty of "devastation wrought with precision and care," seemingly just a little more sane... until Cyclonus informs Galvatron that it will take the Torkulons centuries to rebuild. Galvatron decides his work isn't done if it's going to take "only centuries", but a weary Cyclonus suggests that the Autobots might be a more pressing concern. Galvatron smiles at the prospect of killing Ultra Magnus; the Decepticons flee the planet, leaving the Torkulons at the mercy of their former insane patients.

The [[Decepticon]]s conquer [[Paradron]], a world inhabited by pacifistic [[Autobot]]s.

==Detailed synopsis==
In space, [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] and [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] are pursuing [[Air Raid (G1)|Air Raid]]. Following him into an asteroid field, the two Decepticons are surprised to see the other [[Aerialbot (G1)|Aerialbot]]s. In the firefight, Scourge is damaged, so Cyclonus argues that they charge them. However, the Aerialbots form [[Superion (G1)|Superion]], further damaging the Decepticons. Cyclonus spots a vortex and decides to take refugee in it. Flying through it, they find a planet that looks similar to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] during the [[Golden Age]]. Further analysis is discontinued, however, as they crash hard.

Nursed back to health by the natives, the Decepticons discover that the planet, called [[Paradron]], is inhabited by Autobots. [[Sandstorm]] greets the two Decepticons, explaining their pacifistic ways, but Cyclonus and Scourge get a little too much [[energon]]...of which the planet has an unlimited supply. Contacting [[Chaar]], they inform [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] of the discovery. Sandstorm calls an assembly, warning the others that Cyclonus and Scourge are dangerous, but they ignore his warnings. Soon enough, the Decepticons arrive and declare the planet a part of the [[Decepticon Empire]]. Naturally, the Paradrons don't agree with that, one claiming outright that the planet is a [[democracy]]. Galvatron shoots the dissenter. Taken to a prison, Sandstorm manages to escape, but [[Brawl (G1)|Brawl]] and [[Razorclaw (G1)|Razorclaw]] follow him. They knock him off a bridge, but Sandstorm flies away and manages to lose the two Decepticons. Heading for a long-abandoned spaceship, Sandstorm manages to power it up and take off, narrowly avoiding [[Divebomb (G1)|Divebomb]].

Making contact with the Autobots, Sandstorm explains that his ancestors left Cybertron during the [[Cybertronian Civil Wars|fourth great war]] to escape the violence. The Autobots, knowing that they can't let the Decepticons have Paradron's energon, head for the planet. By now, the Decepticons have dug in and are using the Paradrons as slave labor. Detecting the Autobot ship, the Decepticons destroy the Autobots—or so they think, as the Autobots actually used the ship as a decoy. [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]] takes a team to secure the energon, while [[Hot Rod|Rodimus Prime]] takes [[Springer (G1)|Springer]], Sandstorm, and [[Sky Lynx (G1)|Sky Lynx]] to rescue the prisoners. Breaking through the prison defenses, the Autobots present the Paradrons with weapons, but the latter are reluctant to fight. Sandstorm claims that their forefathers would fight as well. The [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]] gives them a simpler choice: fight or flee. Reluctantly, the Paradrons take up arms.

Unfortunately, the Decepticons' control over the planet is too firm. Unwilling to let them have Paradron, Rodimus orders Ultra Magnus to destroy the energon core, which would destroy the planet. Sandstorm objects at first, but is okay when he learns that the Paradrons can live on Cybertron. Using escape pods, the Paradrons flee the planet, while Magnus and Sandstorm head for the core. Planting a time bomb, the two Autobots hightail it out of there. Galvatron sneers at their cowardice, then remembers that Magnus is anything but a coward. Realizing that something is wrong, Galvatron orders the Decepticons to abandon the planet.

From space, the Autobots watch the planet explode. Sandstorm remarks that even in death, it's still beautiful. Rodimus callously says that Cybertron is better anyway. [[Primus]] [[wikipedia:Jesus wept#Use as an expletive|wept]].

I think the fact that Galvatron would just leave his cannon lying out in the open like that in itself counts as an error, not just when Autobots decide to build a city on the same lot - how did he intend to make sure no one would just go and destroy the damn thing right after he leaves? "Predacons were summoned from Cybertron by Megatron (albeit manipulated into doing so by Shockwave) to lure out Optimus Prime so he could finally kill his nemesis - only for them to attack Megatron instead in the peak of battle, to kill Megatron and allow Shockwave to take command.

Predaking was much like his cartoon eqivalent, only he didn't get his ass handed to him in every turn."
