'''Ironhide''' is the Autobot's resident weapons specialist and [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]]'s old friend. He is old because he is ''hard''. He's probably had enough replacement parts to build a small army, but Ironhide doggedly refuses to roll over and die for anyone. He'll fight to the bitter end and take down more than his fair share of [[Decepticon]]s in the process.

Ironhide doesn't always see optic to optic with Prime, despite their friendship. He's perhaps the more practical of the two, and more than a little trigger happy, so he can be more willing to push to Autobot code to the limit if he thinks it will get the job done faster.

He has more guns than [[Carbombya|a smaller third-world country]], and he may or may not have blown up a [[Kaiba-5|planet]] with said guns.

During the war, Ironhide ran training missions for the younger Autobot recruits. These missions would often have the recruits thrown into the sharp end: one, involving [[Signal Flare (Movie)|Signal Flare]], [[Strongarm (Movie)|Strongarm]] and [[Skyblast (Movie)|Skyblast]], abruptly turned into a raid on a Decepticon base and rescuing a prisoner. He also developed skills at resisting psychic interrogation techniques. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 5}}

He would later be one of three Autobots who tried to prevent [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] from reaching the [[All Spark]]. They hadn't, however, expected for [[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]] to be demented enough to set off a foldspace warhead at pointblank range - a weapon that warped everyone to different parts of the galaxy. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 2}}

After spending some time planet-hopping, Ironhide detected [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]]'s homing signal and headed for it. En route, he was captured by an alien spacecraft, one that appeared to belong to immense entities that created the All Spark and wanted it back. Ironhide, shrugging off a psychic probe, worked out these entities were an illusion - the ship was a derelict that had been salvaged by a group of aquatic aliens who wanted to find & exploit the All Spark. Ironhide removed their ability to do so by taking the derelict's device that tracked down All Spark energy. While he then went on his way, he was left wondering what race had originally owned this vessel and what their connection to the All Spark was... {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 5}}

After meeting up with Ratchet, the two began searching for Jazz. They found he was the prisoner of a living, predatory planet; Ironhide reasoned with the planet to let their friend go (i.e. shot it repeatedly with his slag-off great cannon) and they took him back to Cybertron with them. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 6}}

Following the [[Mission City]] battle, he worked with a US Special Forces team to track down [[Scorponok (Movie)|Scorponok]]. The Decepticon led them into a trap and took control of Ironhide's motor functions, causing him to attack the humans. They attempted to fight back - oh, you know those sabot rounds that are suppose to harm Transformers? They had no effect. Luckily, one of the soldiers was able to sever Scorponok's connection before he killed them all, and Ironhide killed the Decepticon the old fashioned way - ''brutally''. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 8}}

Responding to [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]]'s call for assistance, Ironhide and the other Autobots under Optimus Prime's direct command came to Earth, with the old soldier landing in a suburban pool. As he climbed out of the water, a little human girl asked him if he was (of all things) the tooth fairy before he quickly hid behind some trees when the child's parents exited the house. He scanned their GMC Topkick truck and transformed, leaving the residence. He linked up with [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]] and [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]], and they proceeded to the rendezvous point, where they met up with Optimus and Bumblebee. After meeting [[Sam Witwicky]] and [[Mikaela Banes]], Ironhide displayed an eagerness to show off his [[weapon|cannons]], and made a classic [[Wikipedia:Clint Eastwood|Clint Eastwood]] impression to show it by saying "You feeling lucky, punk?"(which earned him an instant reproof from Optimus).

Going to the Witwicky residence, Ironhide had lubricant released upon him by [[Mojo|a rodent]]. This unpleasant situation was made worse by [[Sam Witwicky]]'s frantic refusal to let him shoot it. Ironhide relented, despite the fact that it would cause rust. He also suggested shooting [[Ron Witwicky|the]] [[Judy Witwicky|parents]], as they were interfering with Sam's search for [[Captain Witwicky]]'s [[glasses]]. Optimus reminded him that they don't hurt humans and scolded his weapons expert, to which Ironhide meekly responded that he merely thought it should remain an option.

After Sam, Mikaela and his parents were captured by [[Sector Seven]], Ironhide got a ''real'' good chance to show off his cannons when he and the other Autobots totally outclassed the S7 agents by instantly disarming them of their weapons, then rescuing the boy and his girl. Unfortunately, their escape was to be short-lived, as [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] was captured by the mysterious agents after saving Sam and Mikaela's lives. The next morning, when Optimus Prime was pondering their next move, Ironhide asked why they had to save the humans, prompting Prime to go into one of his long speeches about freedom and sacrifice, concluding that the humans need not pay for the mistakes of Cybertron-kind, and if need be, he would destroy the All Spark by fusing it with his own spark. Inspired by his words, Ironhide debated no further, and the Autobots set out for the location of the All Spark, [[Hoover Dam]]. Halfway there, to their surprise, they saw Bumblebee leading a column of Sector Seven assault vehicles, so Ironhide and the rest of the Autobots joined the unit.

During the final battle at [[Mission City]], Ironhide realized that the F-22 Raptor that appeared to be providing [[William Lennox|Captain Lennox's]] troops with air cover was in fact [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]]. Ordering the others to take cover, Ironhide and Bumblebee lifted a discarded truck full of ''Furby'' toys to protect the humans against Starscream's strafing run. It worked, but the explosion threw Ironhide back and crippled Bumblebee. Soon afterwards, [[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]] attacked, forcing Ironhide to do several somersaults to avoid the Decepticon's missiles, thus totally scaring the crap out of a lady sitting in the middle of the street.

Ironhide and Ratchet took it upon themselves to protect Sam from [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] and [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]] as he made his way to a rooftop where he could pass the [[All Spark]] to a military helicopter. Unfortunately, Starscream blocked off Sam's path, prompting the Autobot guardians to engage the more powerful Decepticon immediately. After taking several missiles in the gut, Ironhide implored Sam to keep running.

After the destruction of Megatron and the All Spark, Ironhide somberly cradled the body of the fallen Jazz while Ratchet informed Optimus Prime that there was nothing they could do. Ironhide then gave Captain Lennox a ride home and spent the remainder of the day observing Sam and Mikaela making out on the hood of Bumblebee's vehicle mode.

Ironhide arrived on Earth alongside the other Autobots upon Bumblebee's call. As [[Sector Seven]] forces closed in on them, Jazz was given the task of drawing the human authorities' attention away from the others. When Jazz soon found himself trapped by both human agents ''and'' Decepticons, Ironhide was sent to rescue him (without, Prime ordered him, another incident like that on[[Kaiba-5]]), a task that ended with his tangling with a [[Mixmaster (Movie)|Mixmaster]] unit in a construction lot.

A brief aside with Optimus Prime during the rescue revealed Ironhide's actions may have resulted in the destruction of [[Kaiba-5|a small planet]] at one point. Ironhide maintained that it was going to blow up ''anyway''.

In [[Mission City]], Ironhide once again was called to the rescue, as Bumblebee was trapped by massive swarm of [[Energon drone]]s activated by the [[All Spark]]. Ironhide waded into the thick of them and destroyed every last one. Shortly afterwards, he responded to Jazz's S.O.S. call, but was too late; the warrior had been killed by [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]]. Though the Premium subline is meant to be redecos (and occasionally minor retools) of existing Movie toys in more Movie-accurate color schemes, Ironhide's vehicle mode ends up being less accurate than the initial release in an effort to make him appear less monochromatic and more obviously different to customers. Accurate changes include silver smokestacks, silver Road Armor winch and side turn signal detailing, but with them are several inaccurate deco additions including silver detailing to the rims, frosted windows, silver paint on the roof ridges and a large Autobot sigil tampographed onto the hood.

Sadly, installing a grumpy trigger-happy alien robot and deadly high-tech weaponry into the works is not part of the included modifications.

'''Bonecrusher''' is a Transformer that can be described with one word: Hate. Bonecrusher hates this wiki. Bonecrusher hates the fact that his toy is so small. Bonecrusher even hates amusingly appropriate Avril Lavigne quotes. Basically Bonecrusher hates everything and everyone, particularly buses, and lives for the day when all of creation is crushed and destroyed beneath his feet. If anyone tries to befriend him (with the possible exception of folks from Force Protection, as noted below), he will have nothing to do with them. Or he may crush their bones, who knows? His overwhelming anger and hatred extends even to his fellow Decepticons, including [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] himself. Only fear of Megatron keeps him on their side. Plus, he ''really'' hates the [[Autobot]]s.

Were you to ask if there was anything he didn't hate, he might tell you that he hates it when people ask that. More likely, though, he'd just grind your torso into a fine powder. The hatred of Bonecrusher isn't a quiet, brooding, sulking, thing nor a whiny [[Dropkick |Emo]] sort of hate. His hatred is of the [[Galvatron (G1)|explosive, violently psychotic]] sort, and the only thing that soothes his twisted [[spark]] is to sneer at the mangled remains of those he destroyed.

He transforms into a Buffalo mine clearing vehicle used by the military. It is made exclusively in South Carolina and the drivers routinely use it to drive to the local Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. He hates drivers, the mine clearing vehicle, the drive-thrus, and South Carolina. He loves tacos, however.

Bonecrusher was aboard the crew of the ''[[Nemesis (Movie)|Nemesis]]'', led by [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], who were searching for Megatron, who was lost thousands of years ago, along with the [[All Spark]]. He hated the ''Nemesis'', but would hate trying to walk home more. He also hated the All Spark, but Megatron wanted it, so he decided not to complain. Finally, he hated Starscream, but all the other Decepticons do as well, making it something he has in common with his fellow Decepticons. He hated that.

When Starscream left to go destroy [[Ghost 1|an alien vessel]], Bonecrusher eagerly joined [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]]'s plan to attack the ''[[Ark (Movie)|Ark]]'' against Starscream's orders, as there was nothing else to attack. Bypassing [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], he headed straight for the ''Ark''. However, [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]] and [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] were waiting, and unleashed hell upon him. When Blackout ordered a withdrawal, Bonecrusher reluctantly complied. He hates retreating.

Shortly afterwards, Barricade picked Bonecrusher to lead another assault on the ''Ark''. His only response to the command was a growl, but he dislikes being in charge, as his only strategy in combat is to violently charge the enemy and rip them apart with his bare hands. Everyone else uses their stupid [[weapon|gun]]s, and Bonecrusher is a terrible shot. After Blackout had his [[exhaust port]] handed to him for challenging Starscream, Bonecrusher had to drag him back to the ''Nemesis''. Bonecrusher would have preferred to leave him to rot. During the subsequent fight, Bonecrusher has to fight Ironhide, and managed to dent his armor. However, Bonecrusher does demand answers from Starscream when Blackout demands information on why the Decepticon leader wanted to destroy the alien ship, cause damn it, even Bonecrusher needs reasons to kill (well, not really, he was just getting fed up with Starscream). Bonecrusher was forced to drag Starscream back to the ''Nemesis'' when he was injured by the alien ship. He hates being a courier. {{Storylink|Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday}}

Bonecrusher was a member of Starscream's unit that was keeping [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]]'s reinforcements out of [[Tyger Pax]]. When [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]] arrived with news of Megatron and the All Spark, Bonecrusher insisted that they move on as they had already killed all the Autobots in the area. He then demanded that Brawl take them to Megatron or he would kill them all. Witnessing the launch of the All Spark, [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] commented that [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] would die, but Bonecrusher replied that they should let it die, and that Barricade should join it in death. After Starscream and Blackout settled their differences, the group headed after Megatron.

The Decepticons made planetfall on [[Earth]] in Afghanistan, quickly attracting the attention of a nearby [[United States Military|US military]] base, which sent out an armoured personnel carrier to investigate. Bonecrusher declared his satisfaction in finally having something to kill, but this chance was snatched away when [[Wreckage (Movie)|Wreckage]] scanned the vehicle and destroyed it. He hated when that happened. Hitting the US airbase, Bonecrusher easily killed the humans before scanning a Buffalo mine-clearance vehicle. He hated the ''Nemesis'', but would hate trying to walk home more. He also hated the All Spark, but Megatron wanted it, so he decided not to complain. Finally, he hated Starscream, but all the other Decepticons do as well, making it something he has in common with his fellow Decepticons. He hated that.

When Starscream left to go destroy [[Ghost 1|an alien vessel]], Bonecrusher eagerly joined [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]]'s plan to attack the ''[[Ark (Movie)|Ark]]'' against Starscream's orders, as there was nothing else to attack. Bypassing [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], he headed straight for the ''Ark''. However, [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]] and [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] were waiting, and unleashed hell upon him. Leaving the base, he reported that he was "rolling" out. Sometime after this, he rendezvoused with [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and [[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]], and the three Decepticons headed off together to intercept the Autobots and their human allies who had the All Spark in their possession.

Devastator wandered off somewhere, so Bonecrusher and Barricade continued their pursuit on the freeway. Barricade activated his sirens to clear the traffic and allow them more maneuvering room. Unsatisfied with Barricade's less conspicuous method, and since he hated rush-hour traffic, Bonecrusher used his mine-scoop to flip cars out of his way (He kinda liked that). Surprisingly, the Autobots didn't find this out of the ordinary, and only reacted when [[Sam Witwicky|ladiesman217]] recognized Barricade and warned the Autobots. [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]], and [[ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]] aligned to block the Decepticons from [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]], who had the All Spark and the fleshlings.

After Barricade pulled over to the side of the road, Bonecrusher transformed while still moving and skated towards the Autobots. Optimus Prime transformed and slid into position to block his path. Seeing the Autobot he really hated (and that's saying a lot), Bonecrusher smashed through a bus (it irked him), and tackled Optimus Prime, pushing him off an overpass tumbling and falling off the edge, dragging the Autobot leader down with him.

The two played a little cat-and-mouse along the overpasses. After Prime jumped down to ground level, Bonecrusher swung his tail wildly at the Autobot, all the while screaming incoherently. This gave Optimus the opportunity he needed to get his sword ready... which the Autobot leader used to cleave Bonecrusher's right arm and run through the Decepticon's neck, nearly severing it. Optimus then wrenched Bonecrusher's head from its neck and tossed it aside.

He hated the ''Nemesis'', but would hate trying to walk home more. He also hated the All Spark, but Megatron wanted it, so he decided not to complain. Finally, he hated Starscream, but all the other Decepticons do as well, making it something he has in common with his fellow Decepticons. He hated that.

When Starscream left to go destroy [[Ghost 1|an alien vessel]], Bonecrusher eagerly joined [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]]'s plan to attack the ''[[Ark (Movie)|Ark]]'' against Starscream's orders, as there was nothing else to attack. Bypassing [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], he headed straight for the ''Ark''. However, [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]] and [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] were waiting, and unleashed hell upon him. When Blackout ordered a withdrawal, Bonecrusher reluctantly complied. He hates retreating.

Shortly afterwards, Barricade picked Bonecrusher to lead another assault on the ''Ark''. His only response to the command was a growl, but he dislikes being in charge, as his only strategy in combat is to violently charge the enemy and rip them apart with his bare hands. Everyone else uses their stupid [[weapon|gun]]s, and Bonecrusher is a terrible shot. After Blackout had his [[exhaust port]] handed to him for challenging Starscream, Bonecrusher had to drag him back to the ''Nemesis''. Bonecrusher would have preferred to leave him to rot. During the subsequent fight, Bonecrusher has to fight Ironhide, and managed to dent his armor. However, Bonecrusher does demand answers from Starscream when Blackout demands information on why the Decepticon leader wanted to destroy the alien ship, cause damn it, even Bonecrusher needs reasons to kill (well, not really, he was just getting fed up with Starscream). Bonecrusher was hiding out in the motor pool of a military base when he received a communique from Starscream ordering the Decepticons to to mobilize and converge on the location of the All Spark. Leaving the base, he reported that he was "rolling" out. Sometime after this, he rendezvoused with [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and [[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]], and the three Decepticons headed off together to intercept the Autobots and their human allies who had the All Spark in their possession.

Devastator wandered off somewhere, so Bonecrusher and Barricade continued their pursuit on the freeway. Barricade activated his sirens to clear the traffic and allow them more maneuvering room. Unsatisfied with Barricade's less conspicuous method, and since he hated rush-hour traffic, Bonecrusher used his mine-scoop to flip cars out of his way (He kinda liked that). Surprisingly, the Autobots didn't find this out of the ordinary, and only reacted when [[Sam Witwicky|ladiesman217]] recognized Barricade and warned the Autobots. [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]], and [[ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]] aligned to block the Decepticons from [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]], who had the All Spark and the fleshlings.

After Barricade pulled over to the side of the road, Bonecrusher transformed while still moving and skated towards the Autobots. Optimus Prime transformed and slid into position to block his path. Seeing the Autobot he really hated (and that's saying a lot), Bonecrusher smashed through a bus (it irked him), and tackled Optimus Prime, pushing him off an overpass tumbling and falling off the edge, dragging the Autobot leader down with him.

The two played a little cat-and-mouse along the overpasses. After Prime jumped down to ground level, Bonecrusher swung his tail wildly at the Autobot, all the while screaming incoherently. This gave Optimus the opportunity he needed to get his sword ready... which the Autobot leader used to cleave Bonecrusher's right arm and run through the Decepticon's neck, nearly severing it. Optimus then wrenched Bonecrusher's head from its neck and tossed it aside.

Megatron eventually succeeded in tracking the All Spark to [[Earth]], where he successfully crash-landed in the Arctic Circle and was frozen solid for thousands of years. In 1897, some 100 Earth-years before the arrival of the other Transformers, he was discovered by an explorer named [[Archibald Amundsen Witwicky]]. Captain Witwicky accidentally activated Megatron's navigation system and caused the coordinates of the All Spark to be etched onto the explorer's glasses. Megatron remained imprisoned in the Arctic, until the 1930s, when he was dug out by the United States government and moved to a secret [[Sector Seven]] stronghold inside [[Hoover Dam]].

In the present day, having searched the galaxy for the All Spark and being drawn to Earth, the remaining Decepticons learn of Witwicky's glasses. Through the Internet, they determined the location of both Megatron and the All Spark inside Hoover Dam. [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] infiltrated the dam and shut down the power systems, while Starscream attacked the external powerlines, resulting in Megatron's thawing out. Once again online, Megatron declared his name (to clear up all that N.B.E.-01/Ice Man nonsense) before jetting off after the All Spark again. He met up with Starscream on the outside, and berated him for his failure to secure the All Spark.

Upon arriving in [[Mission City]], Megatron caused panic in the Autobot ranks forcing even them to call for a temporary retreat. He blasted [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]] away when the diminutive Autobot attempted to attack, then threw him into the air before crushing him on top of a tower with his clawed talons. Jazz vainly fought on, doing little damage to Megatron before the Decepticon leader killed the Autobot by tearing him in half.

As [[Samuel James Witwicky|the human boy]] ran off with the All Spark, Megatron ordered the Decepticons to attack. Devastator attacked the armed insects, while Starscream and [[Blackout (Movie)|Blackout]] fought [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] and [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]] for the All Spark. At that moment, Optimus Prime appeared and challenged Megatron. Millennia in the ice had done nothing to lessen the animosity Megatron felt for his brother, however. Barely managing to growl out Prime's name, he transformed and flew at Prime at full speed. The Autobot leader leapt and grabbed a hold of Megatron, who slammed him into a building before flying right through a skyscraper. Both leaders landed in the middle of an intersection, but Megatron was the first to recover and leapt upon his brother, snarling that the humans were undeserving of life. Optimus Prime replied that they had the right to choose for themselves before he threw his brother off. Megatron declared that if Prime wished to defend them, he should die with them, forming his Fusion Cannon. Before he could fire, the Autobot leader drew his ion blaster and fired, hitting Megatron. The Decepticon leader shrugged off this attack, spun around from the momentum and fired his cannon, throwing Optimus Prime into the side of a building.

Megatron persued the young human who had removed the All Spark from Hoover Dam, destroying everything that stood in his way. The boy ran to a dilapidated building that was the designated coordinates for a human military evacuation team, and Megatron smashed his way through, yelling that he could smell the human maggot. Following him to the roof, Megatron offered that if the human gave him the All Spark, the boy may live as his pet. The Decepticon leader relished the human's defiant refusal and destroyed the ledge the human was standing upon, sending the boy tumbling to the ground.

Unfortunately, the human was caught by Optimus Prime, who then tried to escape down the side of the building before Megatron tackled him and sent all three slamming into the pavement. As a nearby human bystander attempted to run, the Decepticon expressed his disgust at the insect's proximity and flicked it away. Protecting the young boy, Prime declared that their war would end here and it was now just between the two brothers. Megatron declared that Prime's defense of the "weak" was the real reason he would lose. Despite Optimus Prime's best efforts, Megatron was the stronger warrior, pounding the Autobot leader with devastating blow after devastating blow until he collapsed. The Decepticon leader turned his attention back to the human boy, but was suddenly attacked by the human fighter jets and [[William Lennox|Captain Lennox]]'s ground soldiers firing sabot rounds. His armour a damaged, shattered mess, Megatron ignored the punishment and focused on the human boy. As Optimus Prime ordered the boy to place the All Spark into his chest, the human instead pushed it into the now-exposed [[spark]] in Megatron's chest overloading him with energy and extinguishing the Decepticon's life force. Optimus Prime stood over Megatron's lifeless shell, watching the light flicker out of his brother's [[optics]], he remarked somberly, yet remorsefully that Megatron had left him no choice, and removed a shard of the All Spark from his brother's spark cavity.

Megatron's body was dumped into the ocean at its deepest point, along with the remains of the other Decepticons.

More confusing is his jet black face, which obscures the sculpt's details and is inaccurate to the movie appearance's gunmetal.

Devastator wandered off somewhere, so Bonecrusher and Barricade continued their pursuit on the freeway. Barricade activated his sirens to clear the traffic and allow them more maneuvering room. Unsatisfied with Barricade's less conspicuous method, and since he hated rush-hour traffic, Bonecrusher used his mine-scoop to flip cars out of his way. (He kinda liked that.)

After Barricade pulled over to the side of the road, Bonecrusher transformed while still moving and skated towards the Autobots. Seeing the Autobot he really hated (and that's saying a lot), Bonecrusher smashed through a bus (it irked him), and tackled Optimus Prime, pushing him off an overpass tumbling and falling off the edge, dragging the Autobot leader down with him.

However, Optimus Prime hit Bonecrusher so hard one of the Decepticon's [[optics]] popped free from its socket (he liked that eye... well, no, he didn't, he just hated not having it more), and the two played a little cat-and-mouse along the overpasses. This gave Optimus the opportunity he needed to get his sword ready... which the Autobot used to sever Bonecrusher's right arm and stab through the Decepticon's neck, decapitating him. Optimus then wrenched the head from it's neck and discarded it on the ground, he hated that too.

Bonecrusher hates his movie role (and [[Michael Bay]] too).

He is committed to the Maximal codes of honor and moral judgment, but he does view them with some irreverence, and is not above finding loopholes or administering unorthodox solutions if necessary. ("Sometimes, crazy works," he says.) He is eternally loyal to his friends and respectful to his enemies. He is brave and selfless in battle. Under the eerie shadows of a full moon Optimus Primal, a gigantic bat, [[Cheetor]], a swift-stalking cheetah, and [[Razorbeast]], a fearsome wild boar, hunt purposely through the depths of a jungle. Soon Optimus detects the thermal emissions and fusion activity from a building, which mean they've found their target. His motion sensors register what appears to be a harmless [[Earth]] creature below.

Before Optimus realizes his mistake the alligator lashes out with as smashing swipe of its tail, knocking Optimus into the swampy waters. The beast transforms and [[Megatron]] towers above him. The building ahead is the Predacon's genetics lab and he'll never let Optimus reach the secrets inside. He orders his troops to attack and everyone transforms to robot mode. The gigantic insects Tarrantulas and Waspinator engage Razorbeast and Cheetor respectively while Optimus and Megatron face off.

Optimus brags that the Maximal ''"[[bio-genetic morphing process]] has allowed us to create the perfect fusion of organic musculature and Transformers technology!"'' Megatron responds that his side did all that too, so nan-neh, but used the DNA of Earth's most vicious predators. Optimus Primal was the captain of the exploration ship [[Axalon (BW)|''Axalon'']] when his crew got word that the [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] criminal [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] had stolen the [[Golden Disk]] and a [[Darkside|ship]] with [[transwarp]] capabilities. Primal's was the closest vessel that also possessed a transwarp drive, so the ''Axalon'' was sent to engage them. Primal followed the Predacons through a transwarp portal and appeared above a mysterious planet, but both ships were damaged in the ensuing space battle, and before both ships crashed into the planet's surface below, Primal ordered that the [[stasis pod]]s carrying the rest of his crew to be ejected into orbit.

The planet was rich with [[energon]] -- so much so that prolonged exposure would short out their bodies, so the Maximals and Predacons were forced to take organic forms from the local creatures. Primal took the form of a silverback gorilla. Estranged from his comrades, the Predacon [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]] challenged Primal to a duel soon after their arrival, seeking command of the Maximals so he could, in turn, defeat Megatron. Primal won both the duel and Dinobot's respect (although Dinobot wouldn't admit to respecting him out-loud), and Dinobot joined their ranks.

Both sides entrenched themselves on their new world and the "Beast Wars" began. Strange unnatural sites and artifacts were discovered, leading Primal and the others to believe that aliens had seeded the primitive planet with experiments and traps. One such trap, the [[Standing Stones]], ensnared Primal's body for a short time, during which the Maximals scrambled to ascertain their chain of command. In his absence, the Maximals squabbled and fought over leadership, until finally his core consciousness was able to speak to them and name [[Rattrap (BW)|Rattrap]] as his replacement. Primal's body was subsequently retrieved from the Standing Stones, and he resumed command.

When [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]] discovered evidence of the [[Vok]]'s imminent arrival, Megatron called a truce, which Primal reluctantly agreed to. While investigating a newly-created Vok installation, Primal was tortured and captured by the aliens, who spoke to him (in the form of [[Unicron]]) and told him of their plans to 'sterilize' the planet. Barely escaping the Vok base, Primal returned to the Axalon to find it overrun by [[Tarantulas]] and [[Blackarachnia]], who had turned a space stasis pod into an escape ship, in order to flee the doomed planet. As the planet's second moon was converted into a [[Planet Buster]], Primal took the ship to do battle with the superweapon, against the objections of his crew. Primal planned to detonate the ship's [[transwarp cell]] when in range of the weapon, after ejecting to safety. The plan worked - with the exception of the 'ejecting' part. Megatron remotely seized control of the vessel, overriding Primal's ejection commands. The Predacon commander taunted Primal as he futilely beat his fists against the pod, until the detonation obliterated the pod, the Planet Buster, and Primal, reducing them all to so much space junk.

Primal's [[Spark]] journeyed to the [[Allspark (dimension)|Matrix]], where it was soon recovered by [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] and placed in a [[blank]] [[protoform]], which became his new [[Transmetal]] body. Primal now transformed into a mechanical gorilla with a gorilla-on-a-hoverboard third mode.

Later on, Primal was captured and imprisoned in [[Metal Hunter|yet another Vok base]], this one controlled by his archnemesis Megatron. During a daring rescue attempt by the Maximals and Tarantulas, Optimus engaged in a furious battle with Megatron, destroying both the Metal Hunter and the alien disc. The Maximals then suffered a number of setbacks, including the death of [[Dinobot (BW)|Dinobot]], the destruction of [[Transmutate]], and Megatron's acquisition of the deadly [[Rampage (BW)|Rampage]]. However, the Maximals were soon greeted with good news; the realization that the [[transwarp wavefront]] created by the destruction of the Planet Buster would lead Cybertron to them, in order to mount a rescue operation. Help arrived soon enough, but in the unexpected form of the rebuilt [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]], who had come to arrest Megatron for his crimes against the [[Pax Cybertronia]]. In the midst of this, Primal was forced to chastise new recruit [[Silverbolt (Fuzor)|Silverbolt]] for his dangerous relationship with Blackarachnia. Primal assisted Ravage in arresting Megatron, but was soon betrayed by the ex-[[Decepticon]], allowing Megatron to escape and reach the [[Ark]], in an attempt to assassinate [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]].

Primal was forced to take the great Autobot's Spark inside himself to keep it protected. This caused his body to grow larger and stronger, gaining ground and air vehicle modes along with his previous gorilla form. This new "Optimal Optimus" successfully protected Prime's spark until it could be returned to his repaired body, saving history and the future from destruction.

With the location of the Ark revealed, and Megatron now desperate to end the war at any cost, Primal was forced to move his Maximals into the volcano where the Ark's hull lay. This new, defensive war was much more difficult to fight, and disadvantaged the Maximals severely. With the loss of their defense system, [[Sentinel]], the awkward and violent maturation of Cheetor, proto-humans to guard, and the introduction of the previously treacherous and morally ambiguous Blackarachnia into their ranks, Optimus Primal had more than his share of problems to deal with.

The tide was finally turned when the Vok resurrected and combined [[Airazor (BW)|Airazor]] and [[Tigatron]] into the mighty [[Tigerhawk]], who obliterated the Predacon base. In the end, Primal's forces defeated Megatron's, and with the captured Predacon leader strapped to the roof of a borrowed Autobot shuttle, the Beast Warriors at last headed home.

In his Transmetal form, his spark case is on a hinge in his chest to swing down to the opening in his abdomen. In his Optimal Optimus form, he stored Prime's spark in his vehicle mode cockpit.

During the events that followed, Optimus Primal came to be much more in touch with his spiritual side than he ever was before, due to an almost mystical connection to the Oracle. This granted him visions and intuitions, guiding him to complete its designs. Though he had some trouble at first comprehending just what the Oracle wanted and how to go about it, he was, in the end, successful. Optimus Primal sacrificed his life, plunging with Megatron into the heart of Cybertron and initiating the reformatting that returned the deactivated population to life and gave birth to the new technorganic Cybertron.

Both Megatron and Optimus Primal awoke inside a bizare temple-like spaceship which was hurtling through space. Neither had any memory of who they were or how they got there, only their own names and a feeling of discomfort between one another. The pair went about investigating the ship in search of answers. While Megatron's memory was lost, his personality remained mostly intact: he was more concerned with sezing control of the ship before Primal did in order to gain the upperhand.

They eventually found a data log and discovered that their sparks had been taken and they were reborn into new bodies (unbeknownst to them, bodies identical to their original forms). However, their memories were intentionally not uploaded into their new bodies. While searching the log they discovered that the ship's main power source was a [[Golden Disk]] lodged within a giant pillar. Megatron immediately raced to obtain the Disk and Primal followed him. The closer they got to the disk the more the ship attempted to thwart their advance by manipulating its atmosphere conditions.

Once they reached the chamber the ship's environment suddenly morphed to that of a decaying planet littered with the corpses of robots. The corpses came to life and began shambling toward them, intent on eating their sparks. They made short work of the zombies, leaving Megatron to obtain the Golden Disk and Primal with a feeling that he shouldn't entirely trust Megatron.

From another dimension beyond time and space, [[Primus]] recognized that something was amiss and sent one of his messengers to meet Primal and Megatron within the spaceship.
