:::I am of the opinion that people who think she's awful clearly take their manly, tough, not-at-all-nerdy, children's-toy-collecting, kid's-cartoon-watching hobby way too seriously. --FFN 01:05, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
It's like Princess Morbucks and Pinkie Pie had a love child. She's SUPPOSED to be stupid.--Dynamus Prime 03:12, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
:Speaking of Princess Morbucks, shouldn't we mention that in the Article, or do you guys think she isn't a deliberate reference?

:Considering the other human "villians" in Animated, she could be worse. BTW, is it just me, or does the heart on her shirt make her look like a Kingdom Hearts reject? --Nightshade83 03:26, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
::I think Meltdown at least felt like a legitimate threat for some of his appearance, as did Nanosec to a lesser extent. Professor Princess was over-the-top goofy like Angry Archer, but a bit more effective, which puts her somewhere between Angry Archer and the other two for being a worthy villain, as far as I'm concerned.
::And yeah, I briefly thought of the Heartless when I saw her shirt too. Also Care Bears and Powerpuff Girls, the latter more for visual themes than specific hearts on shirts.
::Oh, and it's "villain". Sorry, that's one of my spelling pet peeves.--Apcog 03:48, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
:::Yeah, Meltdown is a lot more dangerous than the others. However, the Decepticons are clearly more dangerous than the human supervillians, which makes them a lot cooler than the bunglers of the UT and RiD. I guess that's why the Armada Decepticons were a lot cooler in the Ps2 game, and the Vehicon generals were so awesome: They weren't always bashed down by the Autobots over and over, because they had armies and crap.
:::It was a pretty damn good idea to make the Autobots fight the pawns of Megatron and human supervillians more than the Decepticons, and for the Autobots to have to work together to bring down just one 'Con. --Dynamus Prime
::::To be fair, in terms of American Transformers cartoons, Armada Megatron's crew had the longest victory streak. Episodes actually ended with them winning. --FFN 17:04, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
:::::Armada was a Japanese cartoon. --Dynamus Prime 20:29, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
:::::::Yes, but I mean cartoons WRITTEN and CREATED in America. And, if you want some REAL losers, check out RiD, Cybertron, BWII and Neo's 'Cons... Hell, even the G1 and Beast Wars 'Cons would get whupped by the Vehicons, Animated and Movie 'Cons. Dynamus Prime
A hyperactive wisecracker, Bumblebee is quite convinced he's the fastestm-and coolestm-thing on four wheels. He has a tendency to bite off more then he can chew, so it's a good thing he pals around with the massive Bulkhead. He does not take well to being called "short", and his over-eager ways can get on Ratchet's nerves all too easily. Still, Bumblebee is good people, as evidenced by his fast friendship with Sari Sumdac.
Bumblebee can save a little girl from a rampaging slug creature and retain his cheerfulness and good humor while doing so. He also calls Optimus "Big Bot"... sounds familiar.

His hands can transform intro electronic welders, which he can use to shoot electric jolts. Also, he has a strangely familiar faceplate—probably also for welding. Despite the fact that he maintains that he's a repair-bot and not programmed for combat, he's quite useful in battle.

Bumblebee is a member of Optimus Prime's repair crew, assigned to perform maintenance on malfunctioning space bridges. He proved agile enough to help his stronger (but much larger) teammate, Bulkhead, who had managed to lodge a wrecking ball in an asteroid. Even though he expressed significant fear of Megatron, he still managed to crack wise at the Decepticon leader's appearance once they were face-to-face. The humor vanished when Megs pulled out his sword. After Megatron was thrown off the ship, Bumblebee entered stasis with the rest of the crew just before the crew's ship crash-landed on Earth.

Upon awakening the crew to alert them to the intrusion of a nanite-powered bug-slug, the ship's computer scanned vehicle modes to disguise them. Bumblebee got reformatted into Captain Fanzone's car. Lucky him.

Upon noticing "a little creature" struggling with her "owner", 'Bee and Mr. Bulk showed their unfamiliarity with organic life by assuming the owner/pet relationship was reversed. Their speculation was interrupted by the attacks of the giant, nanite-fueled bug monster, and Bumblebee intervened to get Sari out of the way. Later in the battle, Bumblebee was called on to deliver the override command to the beast's nanites, as he was the fastest and most nimble of the crew.

His defeat of the monster seriously impressed Sari, who decided to befriend him. Sari's definition of befriending included cajoling him into sneaking her aboard the Autobots' ship. Of course, Sari wouldn't stay still as Bumblebee asked, compelling him to jettison her into a ventilation shaft. After introducing her to the group, Sari and 'Bee became fast friends. When Starscream attacked Detroit, Bumblebee took a shot intended for Sari, allowing Screamer to capture Bumblebee, Isaac Sumdac, Captain Fanzone, and the Mayor. Sari, with Prowl's help, managed to rescue them. Transform and Roll Out!

At one point, Bumblebee took part in a match against Cyrus "Colossus" Rhodes. Unfortunately, Cyrus hulked up, then proceeded to beat the slag out of Bumblebee. The other Autobots were forced to rescue him, using it as a chance to riff on his small stature. However, only Bumblebee was able to get into Sumdac Tower when Meltdown went to kill Isaac Sumdac. Bumblebee managed to get him to the ground floor, but Meltdown arrived. Bulkhead tried to stop him, but Meltdown threw a glob of acid at Bulkhead, which Bumblebee took instead (basically, 'Bee is a human shield). Bulkhead offered his apologies over his comments, saying he was only having a little fun&mdash;which sent Bumblebee into declaring his good moves and speed. He's going to be pretty impossible to live with for a while. Total Meltdown

After showing a lack of ability to be subtle on Earth, Prime had Prowl try to teach Bumblebee how to blend in. This ruined some plans with Sari, as she wanted to attach some turbo-boosters to him to make him go even faster. During the exercise, they encountered Nanosec, a crook that had gained Professor Sumdac's new speed suit via unknown patrons. Unable to keep up with Nanosec, Bumblebee was convinced by Sari attach the turbo-boosters against Prime's orders. Unfortunately, he couldn't control them in vehicle mode, allowing Nanosec to escape from the Autobots twice. Worse, he was carrying enough Destronium to destroy all of Detroit. Overhearing Bulkhead and Prowl's comments on his change of appearance, Bumblebee realized that the suit was causing him to age the more he used it, so he purposefully ran him into old age (cold, Bee). With the Destronium about to go critical, Bumblebee, with help from Prowl and Bulkhead, managed to use his turbo-boosters to head into the outer atmosphere and get the Destronium away from the city before detonating. The whole experience seems have given Bumblebee a bit more respect for subtlety. Nanosec (episode)

When Decepticon activity was detected in high levels, Bulkhead spilled the beans on what he and Prowl did with the Dinobots, and Optimus Prime pretty much lost it. Ranting that all he had was a group of insubordinate malfunctions, he told Ratchet to take the key from Sari, saying it wasn't safe in her hands. As she ran off crying, Bumblebee defended her, and Prime pointed out that Bumblebee wasn't a good character witness. Bumblebee mouthed off that their situation meant that Prime wasn't fit to command, and then went looking for Sari. Heading to Sumdac Tower, Bumblebee spotted Starscream, and disobeyed Prime's order to hold off. Heading up the elevator (which could not only fit him, but also carry his weight) Bumblebee charged firing his stingers at Starscream. All it really did was interrupt his speech, which made Starscream seriously freak out. However, a crane pulled Starscream, who was holding Bumblebee, up to the roof, where the two fought it out...right until Megatron burst through the roof of the tower. Megatron Rising - Part 1

After Megatron's restoration, Starscream absentmindedly beat on Bumblebee for a while, then threw him aside when Megatron called the Decepticons to him. Once he'd been repaired with remaining key energy in Professor Sumdac's lab, Bumblebee called Prime on his previous statements, and Optimus apologized, saying he was out of line. When Ratchet brought the Autobots' ship to them, the Autobots and Sumdacs boarded the vessel in an attempt to lead Megatron and the Decepticons off-planet, but were shot down and crashed on Dinobot Island. As the Autobots rallied to defend the AllSpark, Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Prowl took on Blitzwing. Ratchet and Bumblebee teamed up again to create an electromagnetic pulse, causing him to crash. After shelling them in tank mode, Blitzwing again took to the air for some strafing runs. Prowl noticed a connection between Blitzwing's alternate modes and personalities, so they had Bumblebee use his greatest strength, his obnoxious personality, to cause Angry Blitzwing to emerge. Taunting the triple changer, Bumblebee got him to transform accidentally into tank mode and crash into the lake. Megatron Rising - Part 2
Trivia
* Bumblebee's arm-mounted shock stingers are very likely inspired by an early weapon concept from the 2007 movie Bumblebee.

* The character who would become Bumblebee was originally conceived as Hot Shot, but changed to Bumblebee in anticipation of his breakout popularity in the live-action film.

*Bumblebee appears to have a fake car roof on his chest in both his toy and on his character model. Not only does Bumblebee transform like his toy in his drawn-out animated transformation sequences, with his legs forming the top of the vehicle and the rest forming the underside, but his "real" windshield is drawn on the back of his legs, just like the toy. Plus the headlights on Bumblebee's feet are upside-down, just like the toy's. However, Bumblebee's vehicle mode stripe doesn't change sides like on the toy. Cheatsy!

**In addition to the above, in Thrill of the Hunt, Bumblebee reaches under his fake car roof kibble to get out his air freshener and fuzzy dice. This would mean that he had kept them in his back seat...

Starscream is easily as accomplished, powerful and deserving of leadership as Megatron. At least, that's what he thinks. Power-hungry and driven by jealousy, Starscream operates through three ideals: lying, manipulation and deception. And when all else fails, a bit of sabotage never goes astray. Wise bots are careful about turning their backs on Starscream, just in case it's the day he finally decides to shove in the knife.

Though not nearly as powerful as Megatron (despite what he thinks of himself), Starcream is by no means a wimp. His null-rays can demolish large buildings, and he can fly around so fast that he can break free of Ratchet's magnetic powers.

He's very fond of villainous speeches. You really don't want to interrupt him in the middle of one of those.
:Voice actor: Tom Kenny (English), Stefan Staudinger (German)

Like others of his kind, Starscream seeks to betray Megatron and take over leadership of the Decepticons. This time, however, he's not afraid to plant bombs on his mighty leader. In the aftermath of the explosion, Starscream got so caught up in his own greatness that he didn't notice that his comrades abandoned him on a ship hurtling towards an exploding space bridge.

Over the next fifty solar cycles, Starscream searched for the All Spark on his own, using the damaged ship as a base (and probably getting a few screws loose in his central processor). He later discovered that the All Spark was on Earth and adopted a jet fighter as an alternate mode to search for it. When he revealed himself to the Autobots, he quickly thrashed each of them individually. Starscream mocked them, apparently assuming that the Autobots thought they had really defeated Megatron (whom he referred to as "the great Megatron" without sarcasm, so he seems to have at least a loathing respect for his leader's power). All too boastful of his cunning, Starscream boldly admitted that Megatron was already defeated by the bomb which Starscream himself had put on him. Despite being more powerful than the Autobots, Starscream failed to take the All Spark, partially because he spent too much time gloating. Optimus Prime grabbed Starscream in midair, and they opened the All Spark, releasing a massive wave of energy. Optimus was killed by the energy surge (he got better), but Starscream's fate was unspecified. Transform and Roll Out!

After Megatron woke up, he found a tape of Starscream's confession and watched it. His reaction was typical: "STAAAAARSCREEEEAM!" Home Is Where the Spark Is

It turns out Starscream had been hiding on Earth this whole time, until he decided to reveal himself to a badly damaged Blitzwing and Lugnut, offering them help in exchange for their loyalty. It also seems that for his skill he never mastered parallel-parking, as evidenced by the wreckage of the Nemesis on Earth's moon. Lost and Found (Animated episode)

After repairing Lugnut and Blitzwing, Starscream continually had to reassert his authority over the two walking malfunctions. As Lugnut went prostrate with praise, Starscream was initially quite flattered by the hulking Decepticon's obsequity, but quickly learned that the big guy was being manipulated by an outside source. Tracking the transmission, he came to Sumdac Tower and was quite surprised to find the disembodied head of his former leader. Beginning the smug monologue to end all smug monologues, he was interrupted by the senseless heroics of the Autobot Bumblebee. Focusing his attentions on the yellow little squirt, he mistakenly assumed that Megatron was helpless, an oversight that allowed the galactic despot to control the lab's machinery and defenestrate the traitor. Even so Starscream remained fixated on Bumblebee, and thus was caught unaware when the repaired form of Megatron burst from the tower roof. Megatron Rising - Part I
This ain't the Fembot we all know and love, folks... She's an entirely different stereotype!

Synopsis
An enraged Arcee has been tearing a path of destruction through the universe, necessitating Ultra Magnus to hunt her down and bring her in as authorized by the Tyrest Accord. After a protracted battle, she gets knocked out by a flash/concussion grenade and taken into custody by Magnus. As they leave the area, a couple of apparent drones surface and talk to a monitor m- promising that the Nega-Core has not been detected and/or taken, which elicits a confirmation from their red-helmeted, gold-shouldered master that preparations for the Expansion will continue.

Garrus-9 penitentiary: Arcee's spark is being held in a cell, along with some notable others. Apparent warden Fortress Maximus confers with Jetfire and the Technobots about when they can incarcerate the Monstructor components in the same way; Jetfire notes that they can't break through the destructive programming far enough to rehabilitate/reform the sparks (as per Optimus Prime's orders), and as such, haven't pulled the sparks from the frames. As they confer, the Decepticon Onslaught leads his Combaticons in a perfectly-timed (as monitored by Banzaitron) assault on the facility, striking at precisely the right grid-sensor-shuffling moment and breaking into the penitentiary.

Fortress Maximus has no choice but to unleash the "threat-level-9" Arcee on them, with the sole caveat of destroying her spark (via a spark casing g-force crush) if she attempts to escape. A furious battle ensues, but after she cuts through Blast Off and plows through Brawl in vehicle mode, the Combaticons (who recognized her when she first attacked) manage to teleport out with the unconscious Monstructor 'cons (whom Banzaitron wants to join his Secret Service).

Arcee proposes that she be released to hunt them down or killed on the spot. When asked for her motivation she grows angry, commenting that "you don't even know you're DOING it...you unconsciously SENSE a difference." She then reveals that Jhiaxus tampered with her CNA at creation, turning her into a female, "because he was curious, because he could," just to see what introducing gender to the Transformer race would do. He then discarded her and left her to her fate. Traumatized and vengeful, all she can think of is wiping out all trace of his tampering in this universe.

Maximus disagrees, pointing the remote spark-casing-control unit at her, but Jetfire tells him to let her go (he'll back up whatever story Maximus concocts for her escape), as they have precious little to lose at this point.
Trivia
* Arcee states that she was the first female Transformer experiment and it is implied she is something rare and (perhaps) unique. However nothing in the issue states that she was the only female Transformer created due to Jhiaxus's program. Indeed, in Megatron: Origin a number of female Transformers make cameo appearances. It may be that Arcee isn't completely alone and that her trauma stems more from being used, altered (perhaps against her will), and abandoned than anything else.

Errors
Items of note
* The issue contains bonus sketch art by Alex Milne, including color tests for Arcee.
* Cameos include:
**Banzaitron's crew: Axer, Roadblock, Gutcruncher, Brawl, Blast Off, Vortex, Onslaught (note that the only absent G1 Combaticon is Swindle, since he had previously appeared in Spotlight: Ultra Magnus)
**Sparks in custody: Skyjack, Bludgeon, Longtooth, Ransack, Repugnus
* On page 3, Arcee mentions Jhiaxus's "dark designs". This was the title of a Generation 2 issue.
* One of the Autobots defending Garrus 9 mentions them being overrun. Let's hope this didn't lead to anyone being distracted during the battle.
* Cover B was colored in a style that pays homage to the cover of Akira Vol.1.
Well, Groundbreaker is kind of like that, only without the "ask questions" part. If patience is a virtue, then Groundbreaker is in the fastlane straight to the Pit, and that's the way he likes it. Groundbreaker is always the first in line, the first to engage the enemy, the first to open fire and usually the first to screw up. But from Groundbreaker's point of view, whoever comes in first is the winner and what you win doesn't matter, just as long as you come in first.
Certain Vehicon Generals doubt the existence of a mysterious technorganic unicorn which doesn't show up on radar, moves without sound, appears and disappears like magic, and leaves only scrambled indecipherable sensor logs in his wake. Those that have fought Battle Unicorn, however, quickly learn that his fanciful alternate mode and prosaic designation disguise a powerful warrior, as intelligent and stealthy as he is skilled with his battle axe should a combatant actually manage to engage him. His stealth armor, sound dampers, sensor scrambling hoof-stomps, and unique teleportation abilities combine to make this a rare occurrence, and make Battle Unicorn an excellent scout.
: Battle Unicorn transforms into a technorganic unicorn. A dial on his beast mode's left shoulder activates an "attack" gimmick, moving his head up and down.
: Released at the very end of the Beast Machines line, Battle Unicorn had a very short "shelf life", leading to many fans never seeing him on the shelf at all. However, Hasbro worked out a deal with online toy store Big Bad Toy Store, selling them solid cases of the figure. :IIRC, the baliff designation comes from the 'The Ultimate Guide style' additions someone was making last year. Baliff isn't from the original TFU, and it's not from MtMtE, and I'm pretty sure it's not from TUG. When the subject of a picture is obvious, which is most cases, the humerous captions are great, but the Quintesson faction symbol used for the main pic here is really pretty obscure. I can easily imagine someone comming across this page and not knowing what the heck that image is or where it comes from. Some sort of explanitory caption for that image would be rather useful I think. --ZacWilliam 12:08, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
The <i>Warworld</i> is a vast, spherical Decepticon battle cruiser created by Bludgeon. It is heavily armed and has a large bridge window covering most of its front side.
Marvel comics continuity
Bludgeon's purpose for creating the Warworld was as a ship for stealing energy and other resources throughout space. It was origanally his flagship and host to his army of Decepticon clones.

When Megatron battled and destroyed Bludgeon, he took command of the crew and ship. The Warworld was involved in many Autobot conflicts.

Starscream stole the Matrix and used its power to combine himself with the Warworld. He reshaped its interior, battled Jhiaxus's troops, and tortured Megatron and Optimus Prime. But the Matrix's essence started to turn him from his evil ways. Starscream was so scared of becoming good that he did not put up any resistance when Optimus Prime and Megatron took the Matrix away from him.

<i>Note: The general look of the </i>Warworld<i> tended to change as the series progressed. In-fiction, this could be the result of its nature as a continuously-growing patchwork of stolen alien technology. In reality, it's what you get when three very different artists depict a massive glob of sprawling machinery.</i>
Japanese Generation 2
When the recently departed Ultra Magnus became aware of a massive fleet of mobile warships Galvatron II was building, he used the Reconfiguration Matrix to resurrect himself in a new body.

<i>Note: This story seems to take cues from the non-caniacal Conclusion to Generation 2 written by Simon Furmon, Alignment. And he'll sell humanity out to Megatron for it.

Shawn Berger ran for mayor of Central City in 1986 and lost. As a token of conciliation with his opponent, he donated a solar energy facility to the city. However, the edifice was a facade in which he hid his personal soldiers and tanks, waiting for the inevitable Decepticon strike on the apparent new power source. But the glory he hoped for was quickly dashed; not only did his troops fare poorly against the Seekers, but they were almost immediately upstaged by an Autobot counterstrike. Megatron's Master Plan, Part 1

Stewing in his Berger, Inc. office, he was suddenly kidnapped by Laserbeak, who took him to Megatron. Megatron told him that the Decepticons had been maligned by Autobot propaganda, and they needed Berger's help to clear their name. Megatron offered him "the city" in return for his aid. Berger demanded <i>two</i> cities (he never specified the second) and proof that the Decepticons were really the good guys.

The proof came in the form of what seemed to be an Autobot raid on an oilfield. As Berger hovered overhead in a helicopter with a video crew, he saw Optimus and several other Autobots drain oil into energon cubes, then get attacked by Decepticons (who shouted things like "SAVE THE HUMANS!") One of his cameras was blown off the helicopter during the battle, but Megatron recovered it, spliced in footage of himself "explaining" the incident, and gave the tape back to him.

Berger then had it played on his network on Autobot Day, which successfully turned public opinion against the Autobots. In fact, the 'Bots were even brought to trial and sentenced by a human judge to permanent exile from Earth. Berger provided the spaceship. (This despite the fact that for some reason Megatron had continued filming the 'Cons removing their Autobot costumes after the oil-field raid, and he hadn't edited that bit out when he was putting himself in. So if Berger had played the tape a few minutes longer, he would've exposed Megatrons' plan at its outset. Spike eventually discovered the footage, but too late.)

Berger had a short time to bask in the adulation of the masses, declaring a "Decepticon Day" and having a parade. Megatron continued to play along for a time; in fact, Berger even tried to get a third city out of his promise. But then at one fateful press conference, Megatron declared martial law over the city and began to enslave the population for energy production. Berger seemed as shocked as anyone, declaring, "It is over; I saw the Autobot ship like a silver bullet streaking toward the sun! And it collided, collided with destiny! I saw the end; they died in a cosmic funeral pyre! It is the end - the Apocalypse!" It's pretty much impossible for a press conference to go more awesomely than that. Megatron's Master Plan, Part 1

Berger started helping Spike and the other friends of the Autobots. But they all were enslaved nonetheless, and he found himself hated at every turn. When Autobots eventually returned and chased the Decepticons off, Berger begged forgiveness. He promised he would disband his personal army, but Sparkplug pointed out that his soldiers had already quit when they realized he was a traitor to humanity.

He seemed really sad.
Binaltech story
As a member of the Concurrence, who's ultimate goal is not only the removal of the not only the Autobots, but all Transformers from the Earth, a "Shawn Berger, Jr." helped fund the creation of the Decepticon Binaltechs. Whether he is the son of Shawn Berger, or if that's simply the full name of the Shawn Berger we already know, is unknown.

Do mayors have much power over their own city in the US? I know its the point of the joke in the article, but it seems such a pathetically modest goal for a presumebly influential rich man. --FFN 17:18, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
:By and large, no, mayors are hardly anything in the grand scheme. Different cities have different levels of mayoral power, and the prominence of the city itself factors in as well. The mayors of New York and Chicago, for instance, are often in the national spotlight and are the heads of their own executive branches (instead of simply being part of their city councils). Also, being corrupt and in bed with the mob and big business has made some mayors more powerful than their job descriptions would suggest. But the mayorship of "Central City" really can't be much to write home about. - Jackpot 18:56, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
::There was an episode of GI Joe, 'Cobra's Candidate' where Cobra attempted to get their own puppet into city hall, presumably so Cobra Commander can get that building permit for his giant cobra-shaped fortress. As I recall the plot had Cobra making the other party, in this case, the other candidate, look bad, as well through a smear campaign. --FFN 19:05, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Should the Dark Saber have it's own article?
I know that in the comics the Dark Saber is just what the Star Saber's called when Megatron holds it, but in the Cartoon, the Dark Saber is a separate entity, In both the anime, and the Linkage Manga, Nemesis Prime is seen wielding it.One presumes it has the same origin that's given for Run-Over in the DW MTMTE Guidebook. A different sword requires a different article, yes?
:There are two Dark Sabers. One is the Star Saber turned evil- (the one we saw in the American comics) the other is an unrelated trio of Mini-cons called Mad, Jack and Shade that formed Scourge's Dark Saber. (The Japanese Dark Saber team's toys are even different- they have clear plastic, the american's are black.) The Japanese one should have it's own article.
(Note: Readers are encouraged to read the following post in a 1940's radio advertisement voiceover style.)

Slag is an expletive sometimes used by Transformers. First used in Beast Wars, it has caught on in most subsequent series. Slag is one of the most versatile words in the Cybertronian Vernacular.

*Exclamation: "Aw, slag!"
*Noun: "You sickening piece of slag!"
*Verb: "You got to be slaggin' me."
*Adjective: "Of all the slaggin'..."

It is therefore possible to build an entire sentence of this word:

*"Slaggit! The slaggin' slag-faced motha-slaggin' slagger slagged the slaggers."

The literal meaning of slag is 'a vitreous mass left from the refining of metallic ores'. It can also refer to this mass while in its molten state, which floats atop the ore. Slag is, therefore, a waste product, but useful for building roads, fertilizing fields, ballasting track, and of course, a good solid round of cursifying.
