Similar to another movie character, his right hand is morphed in a plasma cannon. Though Sideswipe and Drench had their differences, he thought the assassination was a step too far, though Sideswipe kept quiet about his feelings. He then joined the Decepticons. When Cliffjumper traveled into his universe, Sideswipe immediately knew he was from an alternate dimension, as he had seen the other Cliffjumper die in front of his eyes. Sideswipe transforms into a gullwing-doored supercar of vague origin. He is cast in dark charcoal plastic in vehicle mode, with white and green for robot parts. His most distinctive feature is the large, scarred Autobot symbol on the center of his chest. When his partner Whisper is attached to his active rooftop Powerlinx port, both doors either side of the vehicle mode open up like wings, which also give access to the triggers for his door-mounted missile launchers. In robot mode, these missiles can be held in his hands as melee weapons. Unusually, his right wrist features a swivel joint while his left wrist is immobile.

: The main reason this mold was used for Sideswipe was because someone at Takara decided to give Armada Wheeljack a head-sculpt reminiscent of Generation 1 Sideswipe.

Throughout the Transformers multiverse are many Transformers who consider themselves family and refer to each other as such. The most common case is when two Transformers regard each other as siblings: "brothers" (e.g. G1 Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, or Robots In Disguises Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus) or "sisters" (Roulette and Shadow Striker).

Given that Transformers are not organic life and do not reproduce sexually, the origin, distinction, and exact meaning of many of these terms is frequently unclear.

Possible explanations
The Dreamwave More Than Meets The Eye guide provides a partial possible answer. According to the guide, when a spark naturally splits as it's being introduced to a protoform, it creates two robots who are "brothers", such as Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. When such a spark division is artificially induced, the less balanced and self-reliant pair created are referred to as "clones". (This definition of "brother" may or may not apply to RID Prime and Magnus, whose brotherhood was said to result from the special circumstance of having been created simultaneously by Alpha Trion).

However, the "Beast Era" widened the issue of reproduction with Rattrap referring to his "great-aunt" Arcee and in general the practice of Maximals and Predacons referring to the Autobots and Decepticons as their respective "ancestors", as well as themselves as being their "descendants", implying a direct genetic (for want of a better term) lineage. Various sources of debatable canonicity suggest that Optimus Primal is specifically descended from Optimus Prime, usually through the phrase "his ancestor Optimus Prime." In the absence of sexual reproduction, the use and meaning of these genealogical references is difficult to explain. One possible explanation might be a situation such as when Airazor is brought to life. Her spark and protoform are heavily damaged, and Cheetor allows some of his parts to be used as replacements while Rhinox guides the procedure. The Spark To compare to humans, this is something like assisting with childbirth and donating blood or organs. It is unlikely that this happened enough to cause "descendants" as they are described, however.

Other family designations exist as well. Wheelie has "parents" who were lost in his crash on Quintessa, according to some background material. The Mini-Con Twirl very specifically calls Falcia her "mother" (which Falcia hates) and seems to treat Redline like a father, since the two's spark frame energies went into constructing her physical form. Linkage Part 7 In the Armada cartoon, Side Swipe refers to Hot Shot as his brother after Hot Shot saves his life, suggesting at least an understanding of the concept; on the other hand, the Armada cartoon is originally Japanese, and in Japan, 'brother' and 'sister' can be used as terms of affection or respect to an unrelated person. The Unicron Trilogy universe has also used the term "cousin" for certain Transformers on occasion. The Victory manga from the Japanese Generation 1 era features Decepticon wives and children. Even the live-action movie features an Optimus and Megatron who are brothers, and it is mentioned in the related Nintendo DS game that Megatron "took the spark" of their father.

IDW has Ratchet mentioning that his "batch proto-initiator told me there'd be moments like this...", when he was wondering if he should take the humans and investigate the bunker in Nebraska.

Games
Transformers: The Game
Trivia
*Screenwriter Roberto Orci has offered some potential explanations for the evil nature of on-screen Allspark Mutations both at BotCon 2007 and on the official movie forum
**"Prime intended to use the Allspark to repower Cybertron as it was intended. Megatron wants to abuse it by creating Transformers directly, which makes soulesssic, primal Transformers."
**"It is meant to power Cybertron, not adapt human technology. Also, since all earth's tech is reverse engineered from Megatron, maybe that affects the outcome, too."

*A final explanation can be taken from a mission in Transformers: Autobots. When the Autobots attempt to retrieve the All Spark, it produces drones from the local machinery to defend itself. As such, the All Spark-created transformers may have been feral as a survival mechanism.

*The exact circumstances by which the All Spark created other Transformers with more ordinary personalities from Earth machinery is currently unknown.

*None of the Allspark Mutations that appeared in the movie were in the leaked script except the XBOX 360 robot. The ones in the film were a Nokia phone, a Mountain Dew vending machine, a steering wheel and an XBOX 360. In the script, they were an iPod, devices in a truck and plasma televisions.
Agents working for Sector Seven learned to activate and channel All Spark radiation in their base under Hoover Dam. Their technique created heavily-armed psychopathic killing machines out of common Earth devices. The cube also emitted a pulse when dropped by Sam Witwicky as he fled from Decepticons in Mission City, spawning more robotic homicidal maniacs. Transformers (2007)
Allspark Mutations contain solidified All Spark energy in their chests that resemble small, red All Spark cubes. ===Transformers: The Game===

*The term "Allspark Mutations" comes from Alliance issue 1.
If Stockade hadn't become embroiled in the war with the Autobots, he'd probably be breaking kneecaps and shaking down deadbeats for loan sharks. A simple bot at heart, Stockade's perfectly content to help Starscream rebuild his operations on Earth. After all, he's not too picky about whom he takes orders from, as long as those orders involve hurting people.

Many years ago, Stockade was a member of Cybertron's armed forces, and witnessed Megatron's declaration of (essentially) a military dictatorship to deal with the crisis created by an alien attack. Defiance issue 2 Stockade joined Megatron's new "Decepticon" faction when the planet collapsed into a civil war.

Thousands of years later, after the death of Megatron and the destruction of the All Spark on Earth, Stockade was assigned by Starscream to oversee the construction of the new [All Spark. After Starscream's triumphant return to Cybertron, he checked in with Stockade, who informed him that construction was proceeding according to schedule. The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Three He proved to be a cruel foreman as he worked Grindcore to the point of stasis lock, and beat down Warpath for slacking off. Clearly not a bot who cares for unions. The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Four

Stockade was present at the activation of the new cube, and appeared just as shocked as Thundercracker when Dreadwing pulled a coup on Starscream. He fought his way through the numerous drones alongside Thundercracker and beat on Payload, who had apparently sided with Dreadwing. It is unknown if Stockade made it out of the battle alive. The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Five

I warned you...

Stockade believed Cybertron is the greatest world in existence. He and a handful of other Decepticons refused to abandon their homeworld. He loathed Megatron for his mad scheme to capture the All Spark, which has left Cybertron dead.

To remain online despite the lack of an All Spark or any other energy source, they drank Nucleon. Stockade became not only immensely strong (and addicted), he went all messiah, deciding to rebirth Cybertron. He and his "new Decepticons" pooled together the energy of their sparks and sent it into space as a sub-space carrier wave message, believing that any intelligence that detected it would be a relation of the All Spark and would arrive to re-energise Cybertron. Transformers Comic issue 17 Transformers Comic issue 18 He also explored the planet a great deal while preparing for this, discovering that its insides were a lot like those of a Transformer's - even including components that resembled gyro-joints. Transformers Comic issue 20

When a team of Autobots arrived, he calmly stated he wished to keep them functional and so challenged Ironhide (their leader) to hand-to-hand combat, deciding which team had won via leadership conflict rather than start a shooting match. He shrugged off Ironhide's hit and punched him out, and then started screaming in rapture at the sight of an energy-based spatial anomaly Transformers Comic issue 17 This, he informed Bumblebee, was the entity they'd invited to Cybertron—and now that the Autobots had seen it, they could not be allowed to leave.

The Autobots weren't quite sold on the idea of letting an unknown alien force invade their homeworld's core, so the team caused a distraction while Bumblebee turned off the Nucleon surge that was a key part of Stockade's plan. Stockade ended the distraction by bashing Ironhide into the ground (it never gets old) and was pleased to find the entity was still entering Cybertron without the Nucleon. He was visibly less pleased when the entity announced itself as Unicron, the Anti-Life Transformers Comic issue 18, and utterly freaked when the planet itelf began attacking them as it was reshaped, with him having to save Overcast at one point. He was left distraught at the idea he'd made the situation worse, and immediately ended all hostilities with the Autobots as he decided they needed to communicate with Unicron and convince the hostile scary Anti-Life creature to work with them for the betterment of Cybertron.

Shockingly, Unicron wasn't interested and Stockade got zapped. Transformers Comic issue 19 Stockade futilely sent his troops in to shoot at Unicron instead and was upset to see Divebomb buy it. However, at that point Optimus Prime turned up and convinced Stockade to help him stop the monster. Contributing the Decepticons to this effort, Stockade led the Autobots into the planet's depths and kicked off shooting around the innards to distract Unicron.

After the battle, he gave over the Nucleon to save Earth, not wanting two worlds to die because of him. Optimus offered him a place on Earth, but he said he was not yet ready to leave Cybertron; the offer remained open-ended. Transformers Comic issue 20

When the Autobots were facing being evicted from Earth by a Decepticon-controlled US President, Optimus entered into a deal with Stockade. As the Autobots secretly went to Cybertron, Stockade and his Decepticons went to Earth to stand against Starscream's conquest of the United States. Determined to prevent the Transformers' war from destroying this world like it had Cybertron, Stockade gave Hardtop a chance to stand down... and, when it wasn't taken, shrugged off pointblank shots and lead his troops in taking control of Hardtop's drones. Once that was done, he threatened to crush the guy's head with his bare hands, and so Hardtop very quickly defected.

Stockade took control of a third of Earth's drones, causing a Decepticon Civil War that undid Starscream's advance. There appears to be another part to the deal though, as Optimus is both worried Stockade will renege on it and thinks he's the best shot at ending the madness... Transformers Comic issue 24

: As part of the "Power" portion of the movie line, Stockade transforms into a Sector Seven-outfitted Cadillac Escalade SUV. His main gimmick is not automorphing, but a gear-driven punch activated by pulling back on the luggage bar on either forearm.

: On some early samples, the windshield halves in front of both hands pop off easily. This is due partly to the unusually soft plastic, which does not grip at the joints very well. Another issue is the pin-hinged ankles, which only barely support the toy's weight. However, later versions don't display either of these problems.

:Like all Japanese "Allspark Power" toys, the Takara version of Stockade comes with a small AllSpark cube accessory that's not included with the Hasbro version. Stockade himself appears to be no different.

Trivia
*Although Stockade bears Sector 7 markings, his altmode does not match the SUVs used by Sector 7 itself. Rather, he is a Cadillac Escalade like the one that came to life during the battle in Mission City. Due to his comic backstory presenting him as a Transformer who was born on Cybertron, it seems clear they are NOT the same robot.
*Obviously, he's slightly different in Titan to IDW and the bio. Er, chalk it up to alternate timelines...

Optimus Prime is the sadistic, tyrannical leader of the evil Autobots, a cruel and ambitious villain whose plans fall nothing short of universal conquest. First stop: Earth! The only thing standing in Prime's path to domination is Megatron, a young and noble Decepticon willing to lead a small band of rebels in a fight for freedom.

Long ago, he was a librarian named Optronix who cheated his way up through Cybertronian society. He formed the war-loving Autobots and initiated a war against the complacent, but it wasn't until a crucial, yet undocumented moment that he truly turned insane. He suspends the corpses of his enemies and would-be usurpers on the walls, talking to them. He is completely unhinged, prone to deadly outbursts against even his most loyal followers.

Fiction
Shattered Glass
Dangerously obsessive, Optronix worked as a librarian in the Great Cybertronian Archives. Backstabbing his way up the ranks, he soon amassed a following of likeminded Cybertronians who believed in his code of advancement through conflict. Suddenly, his armies attacked, sweeping through cities and killing those who refused to join them. When the scientist Starscream turned down Optronix's offer, he ordered Starscream's Crystal City home to be destroyed in front of him. With their spoils, his "Autobots" began arming themselves with more complicated weaponry, but Optronix, now named Optimus Prime, saved the most advanced upgrades for himself. His hunger for power and knowledge ended one day without warning; he discovered something terrible that destroyed his mind, and in place of his cold calculations was now an unhinged mind bent on random, indiscriminate violence. He strung up his countless victims along the walls of Iacon and began talking to them, asking them mockingly for advice.

But Megatron, a young champion from Polyhex, gathered an army to oppose him. Megatron's forces also had a way to counter Optimus Prime's military superiority: the ability to configure their bodies into alternate forms. It did not take long for Optimus Prime to steal this "Decepticon" technology for himself.

When the Decepticons destroyed all but one of the rogue mercenary group named the Wreckers in the battle of Praxus-Delta, Optimus Prime welcomed their leader, Rodimus, into his ranks. Increasingly paranoid, Optimus Prime began suspecting his subordinates of treachery. He killed the leader of his elite Seeker unit, Drench, and when he learned of Seeker Sideswipe's dissatisfaction with his leader's assassination, Prime staged an ambush to kill him and another Autobot as well. However, Sideswipe narrowly escaped and joined the Decepticons. Optimus chose Rodimus in place of Sideswipe and Bumblebee to take Drench's place as the Seeker unit's new leader, having him rebuilt into the fearsome Goldbug.

Optimus began looking elsewhere. He targeted the distant planet Earth for conquest, had several of his Autobots reconfigure their bodies to transform into the machinery native to the planet, and began construction of an Ark. However, he requested so much weaponry to be built onto the starship that the integrity of the launching platform was in question. He dismissed these concerns.

Close to the Arks completion, Cliffjumper appeared to return from the dead. At first, he was readily welcomed back into their ranks, but they quickly learned that he was not their Cliffjumper at all, but a Cliffjumper doppelganger. Prime shot him and ordered his body dumped in the Rad Zone. This backfired, as Cliffjumper was recruited by the Decepticons, and during a subsequent full-scale Decepticon attack, his glass gas weaponry was used in an attack on the Ark launching platform. Prime's plans to conquer Earth were stopped for the moment. Shattered Glass (comic)

After a later Autobot ambush at the recently rediscovered Arch-Ayre fuel dump, the Cliffjumper doppelganger angrily rushed Optimus Prime, followed by the combined forces of the Mayhem Suppression Squad. Despite it all, Optimus Prime kept on his feet, though his rage was growing with every blow. No one, however, was expecting the sudden arrival of an army of Dinobots led by the exiled mad scientist, Wheeljack. Optimus Prime ordered the rampaging Dinobots to destroy the Decepticons, but instead the beasts attacked each other. During the chaos, both sides withdrew.

Optimus Prime was furious at the Autobots' failure. At Side Burn's clever suggestion, Prime ordered Wheeljack be put in charge of rebuilding the Ark, a task that the mad scientist felt was beneath him. Also, he demanded that the Dinobots be hunted down and gathered for the Autobots' purposes.

Blurr and Rodimus returned triumphantly with eight Dinobots, though Rodimus had lost his hand in the process. Optimus Prime stood over Rodimus as he awoke from Ratchet's table, the traitorous Seeker now had a buzzsaw in place of where his hand used to be. A suitable punishment! Prime told Rodimus he should be grateful he let him live at all. Perhaps he should use the saw to remove that ridiculous thing from his face? Though Blurr and Rodimus thought Grimlock had died during their search for the Dinobots, sure enough, Grimlock appeared, alive and strangely very intelligent, within their base. Optimus Prime was about to punish Grimlock as well, if Grimlock had not then pointed out a fuel system error in the blueprints of the Ark. The evil Autobot leader let the Dinobot leader go, but demanded someone be brought to him he could destroy. Dungeons & Dinobots

:Thunderblast is a Decepticon from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Thunderblast is obsessed with power. Not attaining it for herself, but rather, latching onto a "male" Transformer who has a lot of power. She follows the strongest Decepticon she can find, and the stronger he is, the more infatuated with him she is. As such, she is usually seen clinging to Galvatron (who certainly doesn't reciprocate). But as soon as the power structure shifts, so does the focus of her affections.

Though she's fickle and flighty (and greedy and selfish and opportunistic and vain and overconfident and...) she's not completely stupid. She knows how to use her wiles to get what she wants, and she's no slouch in combat, especially underwater. She knows Autobots are generally reluctant to shoot at a female as pretty as she is and uses that to her advantage as long as she can...at least, long enough to give them a face full of missiles.

She seems to have something resembling an actual friendship with Lugnutz. And while she's generally disappointed if guys aren't fawning over her, she's found that she wants nothing to do with the geeky Shortround, who is infatuated with her. On the other end of the spectrum, she has quickly gained the undying hatred of the human girl Lori.

Thunderblast arrived on Earth in the colony ship Atlantis millions of years ago. While the Autobots watched over and guided human evolution, the Decepticons terrorized the humans, inspiring the myths and legends of old; Thunderblast was the inspiration for the myth of Lorelei and possibly the Sirens. These "monsters" were rounded up by the "monster hunter" Crosswise, who locked up the criminals inside a prison located in the center of the Earth (called the "Earth's Navel"), where they stayed until they were released by Starscream in the present day.

Thunderblast and Lugnutz defended Starscream's volcano-island base from the Autobots and Decepticons...up to a point. While Lugnutz decided simply to wander away from the "heavy scene", Thunderblast found herself less than impressed with Starscream and took to following Megatron (whose power was just soooooo dreamy), joining his forces as they journeyed to Cybertron, which transformed into Primus's gargantuan robot mode. United

There, while admiring her looks in a mirrored satellite, she was interrupted by a super-sized Starscream, who gave her the choice to steal the Omega Lock or get blasted to smithereens. She took the former option, but managed to weasel her way out of it by lying to Starscream, luring him planetside, then telling Megatron that she was ordered to attack him. Starscream arrived and the two bickered until they were interrupted by Optimus Prime and Wing Saber. All parties involved rocketed off to fight, leaving her free to wander off unperturbed. Escape (episode) Shortly afterwards, she tracked Jetfire and Wing Saber, leading Megatron to the missing Atlantis starship. Titans

When Megatron returned from the fire dimension, Thunderblast and the others continued to follow him, all the way to Gigantion. There, when she teamed up with Scourge in a hunt for the planet's Cyber Planet Key, they ran across an Autobot party consisting of Override, Wing Saber and the human Lori. Thunderblast and Lori very quickly got on each others' nerves, both browbeating Scourge, and when Thunderblast took off, Lori scared Wing Saber into following, leaving Scourge and Override to duke it out.

Wing Saber chased Thunderblast through the lower levels, but it was a trap, since the Decepticon was leading them to a harbor area, and water combat was Thunderblast's element. Wing Saber took a fair pummeling, but Lori noticed a cluster of cranes, and she set them up so Wing Saber could lure the overconfident "floozy" (Lori's words). Thunderblast was crushed under a half-dozen massive claws, and Wing Saber took the chance to blast her while she was down, the explosion sending her flying away uncontrollably. Ambush

When Megatron (now Galvatron) and Starscream dueled over the Omega Lock and the four Cyber Planet Keys, Thunderblast briefly wondered if she was infatuated with the wrong 'bot. But when Galvatron emerged victorious, she followed him back to Cybertron happily. There, she and the few remaining Decepticons still loyal to Galvatron (Thundercracker, Ransack and Crumplezone) were given a boost of Omega Lock power, super-sizing them so they could take on the massed armies that had gathered from all of the colony worlds to oppose them. After being assaulted (and insulted) by Undermine and Brimstone, Thunderblast found herself going up against her old friend Lugnutz. Though she seemed shocked he'd side with the "good guys", she got over it pretty quickly and had no compunctions about trying to blow him away.

Ultimately, Galvatron's plot failed. Thunderblast realized that Galvatron was going to let her die in the cataclysm that his plan would have caused, and she ran off along with the other now-de-powered Decepticons. End When the rocket boosters built on the Jungle Planet to push the world back to its normal place in the cosmos began to fail from an attack by Galvatron, the four Decepticons arrived, cackling...and helped with the efforts to keep the thrusters upright and functional, deciding to try being on the winning team for once. Unfinished

Afterwards, Thunderblast, Ransack and Crumplezone went to each world, trying to find a place to fit in and failing. Thunderblast in particular threw herself at about every strong male bot around, but it seemed no one was even remotely interested. When the Autobots were ready to begin their Space Bridge initiative, the trio built a rickety rocket, shanghaied the reluctant Thundercracker (who was really enjoying being an Autobot), and took off for parts unknown as the New Decepticon Army.

They made it as far as Mars before the rocket crashed. Beginning

Synopsis
A lunar rover examines recent seismic activity on the Moon's surface and stumbles upon the crashed Nemesis. As it moves in for a closer look, a huge, unidentified object lands on the rover and crushes it. The huge thing turns out to be Lugnut. His partner, Blitzwing berates him for his clumsiness, but then offers some dancing lessons. An annoyed Lugnut points out they've traveled across the galaxy to find Megatron's ship, not become light on their feet. Blitzwing comments that this is the same sector in which they lost track of Lockdown, and an argument breaks out (Lugnut doesn't like Lockdown), culminating in Lugnut confidently stating he knows Megatron still lives.

On Earth, Ratchet is rudely awakened from a stasis nap by an unapologetic Sari, who is in the middle of a street hockey game with Prowl, Bulkhead and Bumblebee. The game picks up, and Bumblebee is about to score, when a trash can makes a save! Sari tries to write it off, but Ratchet is quick to notice the Key currently plugged into said can. He tells her off, but they are interrupted when the Key begins to glow, followed by two glowing objects entering Earth's atmosphere. As a prophetic Ratchet decides this can't be good, camera-bots move in to investigate, but are quickly crushed by Blitzwing. Both he and Lugnut mistake a nearby crane as a sentient life form, and Lugnut demands to know Megatron's location. After a shove, the crane responds by slamming its wrecking ball into Blitzwing. Watching a live feed, Megatron muses over whether or not he can risk revealing himself. After all, he has already been betrayed once. At their home base, the Autobots get ready to mobilize. Sari is all fired up, but both Ratchet and Prime tell her she needs to wait behind, as they want to protect the innocents. (Bumblebee very quickly points out that they're innocent too.)

Back at the construction site, Blitzwing and Lugnut have decided to devastate the place in order to draw out the Autobots. It works, and things quickly kick off as Optimus is forced to slice a tanker thrown by Lugnut in half. This promising opener falls apart when Blitzwing prevents both Prowl and Bumblebee from launching any attacks. Ratchet manages to trap some of Lugnut's missiles (though they break through his magnetic grip, they still don't hit any of the Autobots), but as Bulkhead tries to outmuscle the massive 'Con, Lugnut proves to be too powerful and throws him aside. The combined efforts of Blitzwing and Lugnut prove too much for the Autobots, and things go from bad to worse when they tell the Decepticons that Megatron burned up "over Cleveland". Screaming "Megatron lives!", a raging Lugnut activates his rocket fists and levels the entire area, flooring the Autobots and burying both himself and Blitzwing. As the Decepticons unbury themselves from the rubble, Blitzwing tells Lugnut to warn him before using his big punch…again.

As the Decepticons free themselves, Megatron becomes convinced of Lugnut's loyalty and opts to contact only him. Lugnut automatically decides to abandon the battle and answer the summons, dragging Blitzwing along and leaving behind some very confused Autobots. Blitzwing headbutts Lugnut in midair, and Lugnut responds in kind, slamming Blitzwing down into an army base. He explains he heard Megatron's voice, but Blitzwing merely hears approaching police. He suggests they scan local vehicle modes and hide, but Lugnut refuses until Megatron orders him to do so. He quickly scans a bomber, while Blitzwing, after a quick argument between his faces, scans both an assault tank and a fighter jet. Captain Fanzone arrives, but the Decepticons are already hiding in plain sight.

The Autobots have returned to base and are making repairs. The constant danger of attack makes Prime decide the best thing to do would be to repair their ship and take the AllSpark off of Earth. Sari takes this very badly, and she is most unwilling to use the Key to help Ratchet fix the ship. For his part, Ratchet is less than pleased about having to work with a "protoform". Prime settles it by ordering the two to be partners.

Meanwhile, Lugnut and Blitzwing are perched on a blimp, observing the city below. As Blitzwing comments on the local wildlife, Megatron transmits information on the Key to Lugnut and orders the retrieval of it and the AllSpark. Lugnut immediately transforms, followed by a less-than-willing Blitzwing.

At Lake Erie, the Autobots arrive, with Ratchet and Sari still bickering. They are quickly interrupted by Blitzwing and Lugnut. Ratchet and Sari make a break for it, but Blitzwing freezes the lake, preventing them from reaching the ship. However, they get a hand from Lugnut, who accidentally blasts a hole for them to get through. The Autobots dive in, and as Ratchet heads for their ship under , Lugnut and Blitzwing are stalled by the rest, thanks to some clever thinking from Prime. In the Autobots' ship, Ratchet has a moment alone with the ship, but ends up fighting with Sari, who storms off to the AllSpark's cargo bay. Dejected, she gets the idea of damaging the ship enough to prevent it flying, but the Key quickly repairs it. Suddenly, the AllSpark opens to reveal an image of Megatron's head and the Key. Moments later, a fully restored Megatron materializes, and a terrified Sari panics and opens the airlock. As water pours in, Ratchet manages to save her. Sari confesses to her sabotage, but a sympathetic Ratchet explains the reason he wants to leave is because he cares about the planet and its people, especially Sari.

Finally understanding, Sari agrees to help. Ratchet reveals the ship was originally a military vessel, and he hopes to bring the weapons bay back online. Outside, the Autobots are in serious trouble, but Sari's Key soon reactivates the weapons bay, and Ratchet tells Optimus to draw the Decepticons to the ship. As they close, he activates the main cannon and blows the pair of Decepticons to kingdom come. A furious Megatron loses his link, and the Decepticons crash down onto the surface of the lake in several badly damaged pieces.

Back at base, Sari uses the Key to patch up Bumblebee, acting rather Ratchet like when he asks for some customization. Ratchet reveals that even with the Key, it'll take some time to get the ship up and running, so they won't be gone for a good while, and Sari smiles happily.

At the lake, Blitzwing calls for help, while Lugnut begs for a sign of Megatron's forgiveness. Remarkably they get a sign—a bad one, as Starscream shows up, promising repairs, in exchange for loyalty.
Notes
Continuity errors
* Blitzwing transforms to tank mode to drop into Lake Erie, but right after he plunges in and appears before the Autobots, he's in robot mode. Why didn't he just go to robot mode in the first place? (In-continuity answer: Blitzwing's angry persona uses the tank mode as opposed to the jet mode, according to Prowl in "Megatron Rising", so him getting angry at Lugnut caused his transformation automatically. Out-of-continuity answer: To sell toys.)
* In the Autobots' first scuffle with the 'cons, Ratchet uses his magnetic powers to grab a bunch of missiles fired by Lugnut, exclaiming that he can't hold them forever. However, they just seem to disappear after that, as it's never shown whether or not they hit anything.
* As seen in stock-footage transformations in previous episodes, when Prime transforms after he hears of Blitzwing and Lugnut on the news, he turns into a sort of half-a-fire-engine. This form was likely animated using references for his Voyager-scale toy, from which the back end can be detached. In the next shot, in which he rolls out, he's a complete fire engine.
* Blitzwing's decision to scan both a jet and a tank seems to imply that he was not a Triple Changer before the scanning. However, The Arrival issue 5 clearly marks him as a Triple Changer before ever coming to Earth.

Animation errors
*When Ratchet reactivates Teletran 1's main cannon and states that he has a plan, his broken forehead chevron is on the left side instead of the right.
*In two animation shots of Lugnut using his rocket punch, the ground is not iced, hinting that the animation sequence might be reused in future episodes.
*When Lugnut scans the bomber, it is much bigger than he is.

Transformers references
* The initial scene with the lunar rover is highly reminiscent of the destruction of the Mars probe in the live-action movie. The two Decepticons' appearance on Earth as crash-landing meteorites also harks back to the film.

* The construction workers seen where Blitzwing and Lugnut first land are wearing outfits inspired by Spike and Sparkplug from Generation 1.

* After the airing of "Transform and Roll Out", some fans speculated on a possible connection between the Autobot ship and Generation 1 Omega Supreme, based on both Prime's dialogue referring to a weapons-system program as "Codename: Omega" and the resemblance between the ship's cannon (shown briefly) and Omega Supreme's tank turret. Adding to that speculation, in this episode, Ratchet addresses the ship as "old friend". Also, when Ratchet manages to activate the weapons systems, we see a clearer shot of the cannon, which indeed looks a lot like Omega Supreme's tank turret (it even has his color scheme). Foreshadowing? Yup, foreshadowing.

*This episode is the first in the series to feature the use of the words "slag" and "frag" as expletives.

Real-world references
* When Lugnut overpowers Bulkhead, he comments, "Nothing moves Lugnut", similar to the minor X-men villain the Blob.

Trivia
* This is the fourth episode in which Sari has received direct warnings about misuse of her Key. The Allspark seems to have chosen the "tough love" approach and scared the message into her. How long this will last is up for debate. Bets will now be taken. Answer: Beginning of the third season when she uses it to upgrade herself, and it makes her go nuts and stab Bumblebee. Betting is now closed.
* In a humourous background detail, we see the Blitzwing-shaped hole, left from where he crashed barely two minutes ago, as Captain Fanzone's squadron arrives at the hangar. Oddly enough, they don't take much notice of it.
* Captain Fanzone doesn't come off too well in this episode, since he A) forgets that Transformers can disguise themselves as vehicles, and B) doesn't notice that two of the military jets are sporting unusual purple paint jobs, and one of them has tank treads under its wings, not to mention the above.
* Prime's vehicle mode has manual transmission.
* It's unclear why Sari didn't mention the AllSpark-generated vision of Megatron to any of the Autobots. (Granted, she doesn't know who Megatron is, but even so….)
* When Sari tells Bumblebee that the Key isn't a toy, she looks like she has wrinkles under her eyes. Obviously, this is meant to show that Ratchet has rubbed off on her a little bit. Even her mouth looks like his briefly. Of course, she may have just been doing an impression of Ratchet as a joke.
* Random Blitzwing seems to have a knack for songs and dances. We'll see if it remains a trend.
* Captain Fanzone is currently driving a regular Detroit police car. His old car was destroyed by Snarl in "Blast from the Past," but it returns in future episodes.
* Megatron seems unfamiliar with Blitzwing and Lugnut's personalities (i.e., that the first is crazy, and the second is loyal). However, they served under him on the Nemesis fifty years ago, and exhibited the same characteristics then. This discrepancy is not explained. (Possibly Megatron did not have much direct contact with them in the past, or he may be assuming that fifty years might have changed them.) It also shows that unlike his counterparts, Animated Megatron actually learns from betrayal, and is not so forgiving.
autobot

:Arcee is an Autobot from the 2007 movie franchise in the live-action film continuity family.

Though small compared to many of her peers and adversaries, Arcee compensates with speed and aggressive maneuvers, making her one of the most dangerous Autobots around. Moreover, Arcee is a born hunter. She honed her speed hunting turbofoxes with other speedsters, challenging herself to get as close as possible before tagging them with her bow. She's a crack shot with said crossbow weapon, and Ironhide has trained her to use her speed to her advantage in battle, striking suddenly and swiftly and then vanishing away again as fast as she appeared.

The events at Tyger Pax created a nagging doubt in Arcee about her abilities. She carries some guilt about Bumblebee's injuries, and part of what drives her is the desire to prove herself, not only in the optics of her friends and comrades, but most importantly in her own.

Fiction
IDW Transformers movie comics
Many, many years in the past, Arcee was a member of Optimus's science division, in charge of excavation site LT34 near the temple of Simfur. While Optimus was showing Lord High Protector Megatron around, her team discovered a mysterious relic with a strange symbol etched into it. She led her superiors to the ancient relic and watched as Megatron and Optimus began to argue when the former demanded the relic be relocated to his private quarters, Optimus relenting due to a sudden alien attack. Arcee assisted with its evacuation from the dig site. Defiance issue 1

During the war, Arcee was one of a handful of Autobots under the command of Bumblebee who desperately fought against Megatron's vast army at Tyger Pax. She was captured and interrogated by the Decepticons but survived the ordeal. She recounted to their Autobot rescuers Bumblebee's heroics in delaying Megatron, preventing Megatron from intercepting the wormhole-bound All Spark. Prime Directive (IDW) issue 1

Many years later, following the death of Megatron and the destruction of the All Spark on Earth, Arcee was in command of an Autobot assault team on Mars and led Cliffjumper and others in an attack on Starscream's ship. The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Two

While her team made short work of the Swindle, Dreadwing, and Payload drones the Decepticons sent against them, Arcee killed the Decepticon sniper Hardtop before he could snipe Smokescreen. Her teammates were unprepared for the arrival of Thundercracker, however, and he quickly slew Camshaft and wounded Cliffjumper. Remembering her failure at Tyger Pax, Arcee leapt into action, and soon she and Cliffjumper had Thundercracker at their mercy. The arrival of Starscream changed that, as he killed Smokescreen and Air Raid and badly damaged Cliffjumper. As she attempted to pull the last surviving member of her team to safety, Arcee was kicked aside by Starscream. The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Three

However, Arcee recovered an instant later. The Decepticon starship was already taking off, but she jumped and grabbed onto a piece of landing gear, holding on tight...through the space bridge. Wow. Later, she made her way back to an Autobot facility, where she unexpectedly met Clocker and Crosshairs. Along with a large force of Autobots, the three moved in on the Simfur temple, where Starscream was using captured Autobots for a strange project of his. The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Four

She split her troops into two forces: One would attack the city of Trypticon as a diversion, while the other moved in on Simfur. Arcee and her team could only watch helplessly as Starscream drained the life out of the Autobot prisoners strapped onto the replica All Spark, despite her friend Elita-One's pleas for mercy. An opportunity to cause havoc presented itself when Dreadwing's forces attempted a coup. Arcee lined up her sights on the generator holding the life energy of the deceased prisoners, dedicated the shot to Elita, and destroyed it, annihilating the Cube and sending the Decepticons into disarray. Arcee's team fought their way through the disorganised Decepticons, linked up with Wingblade's team, and rolled out just as the crippled 'starship came crashing down on the city. With the destruction of the capitol and the defeat of a significant portion of the Decepticon drone army, Arcee considered this to be the turning point of the war, but as long as Starscream was alive, he was a thread that she had to track down. The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Five
Target Robovision bio
Arcee was on Earth for a short time at the beginning of the conflict there, presumably arriving shortly after Bumblebee. When the situation on Earth began to ramp up into out-and-out combat, she was reassigned elsewhere, where her stealth skills would be of more use.

Now she fights in the Charii system against a Decepticon splinter cell working on a star-breaking weapon. If she has her way, the only things breaking will be their heads.

Originally, Arcee didn't serve either faction, working alone to solve injustices in her own way. Megatron personally decided to make an example of her, and only an Autobot extraction team led by Kup saved her life. This debt saw her join the Autobots. She's chimerical in nature and is constantly changing her alt-mode in an effort to go as fast as possible. She previously had a hover-car form, but on Earth takes a modified bike mode.

Arcee was one of the six Autobot reinforcements hiding on the Moon. Transformers Comic issue 9 When Starscream attacked them, the quick-thinking Arcee was the one who took command and rallied the troops. When this still failed to work, she ordered them to Earth (following Strongarm's initiative) and their prearranged targets. Transformers Comic issue 11 Alongside Armorhide, she guarded Ratchet while he destroyed the captive All Spark and thus saved Earth from being cyberformed.
And, of course, they didn't lose. However, Arcee was left bewildered by the idea that Humanity would not trust and love the Autobots, and Optimus explained to her that, from a human point of view, all the Transformers are alien horrors fighting on their planet. Following this, she guarded the Savannah, Georgia shelter and was caught in Starscream's ambush. Transformers Comic issue 14 Transformers Comic issue 15

: Arcee is a redeco of Energon Arcee, replacing her pinks and most of her whites and blacks with blue, and her translucent red with smoky brown plastic. She transforms into a "superbike"-type racing motorcycle. Unusually for a Transformer, she does not hold her weapon in her hands as most figures do. Instead, her Energon Bow mounts on a peg on either arm, with her hands being positioned to give the appearance of her using the bow. The bow itself is spring-loaded, firing a grey "arrow" missile.

:Arcee (and the rest of the Scout wave) were exclusive to Target stores, where they were all part of a Robo-Vision promotion. Arcee came with a Robo-Vision Decoder which allows you to see the Robo-Vision Code ("BULLSEYE") printed on her cardback. Starting June 2, 2007, Target's website allowed users to input those codes to access exclusive content, a concept similar to the online Cyber Planet Key info from the Transformers: Cybertron toyline.

: This mold also was used to make Superlink Ariel Paradron Type, as well as the 2005 Descent into Evil set's Chromia, Flamewar, Flareup, and the fellow Target-exclusive movieverse Elita-One.
**Accessories: Launcher, missile

: Deluxe Arcee transforms into a purple 2006 Buell Firebolt XB12R motorcycle, genericised to get around licensing issues. Arcee has references tampographed on her vehicle mode, such as her motorcycle's model name, "RC 1100", and her Massachusetts license plate marked TF7407, the original release date of the movie.
: Arcee's Automorphing feature is located in her crossbow weapon (formed out of the seat/storage area of the bike), activated when the projectile (the bike's tailpipe) is inserted, which pushes out the recurved lath parts on the sides of the weapon. The rectangular peg which is supposed to be used to attach her weapon to her forearm in robot mode is sometimes a poor fit, and the weapon may pop off. As an alternative, the round peg by which the weapon is attached in vehicle mode can also be used in robot mode, with a little rearranging of parts.
: Undocumented in the instructions, the two shoulder-mounted half-wheels contain a small niche on the edge of the tires. By folding the wheels down with the hubcaps pointing towards the chest and turning the tires towards the shoulders, one can feel the wheels gently click into place via the tire niches and hidden tabs in the shoulders, allowing the wheels to remain in place and more closely resemble the figure as pictured on its packaging.
: As with most larger Transformers toys that become motorcycles, Arcee has a kickstand on the left side of the bike; unfortunately, it's mounted so low that she will fall in the opposite direction if it is fully extended.

: This version of Arcee later was sold at Asia online retailers and in European retail stores in the same packaging as the first release of Arcee. The packaging did not indicate any of the changes made to the figure, apart from a sticker on the bubble exclaiming "Exclusive! Battle-damage!".
Trivia
* As part of 2007's Hasbro tour, fans viewed "Robot Scale Chart v03", dated 11.22.05, which showed Arcee's height as 9' (2.7m). However, all of the designs on this chart were very early and later heavily revised (though Jazz was revised far less than the others).

* Arcee was originally going to be a member of the live-action movie's Autobot cast, but was later replaced by Ironhide. According to screenwriter Roberto Orci, they would have needed to explain the point behind female robots, which there wasn't any time for in the movie. In another interview, Alex Kurtzman cited "scale issues" as an additional reason for dropping Arcee; allegedly, Michael Bay simply considered her too small as compared to the rest of the Autobots. It's commonly assumed that Arcee's big part in the movie would have been the scene in which William Lennox starts his solo assault on Blackout using an abandoned motorcycle. However, the screenwriters rejected that notion, stating that this scene wasn't written until after Arcee had already been dropped from the script—but if she had remained in the movie, that scene would have probably featured her as the motorcycle.

* Arcee came this close to being killed off in The Reign of Starscream, as the trade states that two revisions of the plot had her dying.
Everyone gets ready for the Revenge of the Fallen.

Synopsis
En route to San Francisco, the Autobots and NEST soldiers converse about their mission. Two Decepticons have been spotted in the city, but thankfully, there was no mention of robots, so they must be in their vehicle modes. Lennox wonders how their team can do this without drawing attention from bystanders, to which Ironhide told him to leave it to the Autobots, knowing that the two Decepticons will put up a fight. Once they land, Salani reminds them that this is for real. Team 3 is to serve as perimeter defense, Team 2 sets up the trap, and Team 1 (consisting of Lennox, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee) will flush them out. Lennox once again lays down the plans, with a chemical spill used as cover for their operations, as they need as much secrecy as possible.

In Downtown San Francisco, the area is cordoned off, and the civilians have been moved out, so Team 2 is cleared to go. Ratchet tells Ironhide that their appearance seems much suited for the mission, and that both them and the humans look stylish, but Ironhide tells him to stow it. Suddenly, Ratchet picks up energy readings, then Swindle and Deadend crash through a sliding wall and Team 2 picks up the chase. Swindle thinks that, if Barricade's intel is right, he and Deadend are chased by Ironhide and Ratchet, and not Prime. Then, Prime appears out of nowhere and runs over Deadend. Swindle runs off, but Bumblebee chases after him.

Prime is okay, but Deadend isn't, as noted by Ratchet. Salani calls Epps for a clean-up crew, while at the Golden Gate Bridge, Epps asks Lennox for his status. Lennox is pursuing Swindle, and Swindle is heading toward the Bridge fast. Lennox tells Epps to have the soldiers let Swindle get a bit of "clearance", then he and Bumbleee continue the pursuit. When they reach the bridge, Swindle transforms and is incredulous that Bumblebee came alone, but Lennox tells Swindle otherwise. Swindle blast at them, then beats up Bumblebee. Lennox fires at Swindle, but Swindle turns his attention to Lennox, but before he can do anything, he is blasted by Bumblebee. Dying, Swindle says that none of them are safe, but shuts down before he tells more. Lennox considers the mission a success, seeing as it wasn't as bad as Mission City was.

Hours later, during the trip back to base, Optimus Prime notes that Lennox looks tired, but Lennox says that he was wondering if things are about to get worse, and is worried about what Swindle said. Prime asks him is he's also worried about Sam Witwicky; Lennox says yes, but is more concerned about the "we'll" part, thinking that more Decepticons will arrive, and if so, why are they on Earth? Prime doesn't have the answer, but agrees with the safety of Sam. Prime thinks that Sam will be safe at the base, but Lennox doesn't agree, because he's just a kid, and they can't move him from the street, either. Prime thinks that, no matter what happens,
with their own destinies being absolute and uncontrollable, Sam is going to be involved in this. Lennox tells Prime that they need someone to watch over him, but Prime knows just the one.

When the team lands back at the base, a refreshed Epps meets with the still-tired Lennox, who tells him that something's going on out there. Epps tells him that they're ready for anything, but Lennox questions this, saying that for all their training, they weren't clean during the day's mission. Epps thinks it could have been worse, but Lennox says that it might get worse, as well as saying that Bumblebee is leaving the team to once again guard Sam. Epps is upset, saying that they can't lose team members that came from another planet; Lennox agrees.

Later, Lennox is debriefed by the Army over the day's mission. Lennox tells them about the incident at the Golden Gate Bridge, but the commander debriefing the team isn't pleased with this, as they were given strict orders to not transform. If the Decepticons did so on their own accord, then so be it; however, the team was ordered not to, as the Army didn't want to risk disclosure in a major city again. Lennox said that they had no choice, as the Decepticons had engaged them and they took caution in how they responded. The battle at Mission City was in the past, and now is the time to move on. The commander says that civilians weren't used to seeing robots or jets flying in major cities. Lennox argues, saying that the jet was one of them. As for proof that the Autobots want to work for the army, it couldn't be helped, but their working on that. The mission was a success, despite the incident at the bridge.

The army commander still isn't sold on Lennox's idea. They had been authorization on that mission, but now they expect that the rules to be followed in the missions that will be coming to them, and that the unit is used to fix problems, not make new ones. After making Lennox clear on this issue, the commander will pass this onto his superiors, and tells Lennox that he and his men need to look over the day's mission and learn from them. When the conversation ends, Lennox is upset at the commander, saying that he was impossible to work. Prime says that the team will have to work harder, but Lennox thinks that the problem is the army still doesn't get the difference between Autobots and Decepticons. Optimus Prime says that they have to succeed.

The next day, Bumblebee says his brief good-byes to the group. Ironhide tells him to stay out of trouble until he meets with Bumblebee, while Optimus Prime reminds Bumblebee that the protection of Sam is his first priority, then Bumblebee leaves. Later, the team is briefed by the army. There have been multiple Decepticon sightings all over the globe. Lennox lets Optimus Prime talk to the army, and Prime believes that, coming from Swindle's comments, the Decepticons are looking for something, be it Megatron's remains, Sam's house, or somewhere else. The commander asks if they aren't spreading for another attack, but Prime doesn't know. The Decepticons soldiers don't act like the ones Megatron commanded, but are more like scouts. The commander gives them new orders; they are to find these Decepticon scouts, engage, hunt down, and eliminate them.

And so, as Prime relates, with upgraded technology from Sector Seven installed by Ratchet, the Autobots found the Decepticons, and, when found, they were destroyed immediately (in Italy, Fracture gets smashed by Ironhide and falls to the ravine). With help from NEST, the war with the Decepticons continues. As weeks, then months went by, they trained and got better. Soldiers from all over the world signed up. Together, they celebrated triumph (in Europe, Overcast is shot down by NEST forces) and mourned those who made sacrifices (a mission in the Middle East resulted in the death of Salani). They grew as a team and learned from one another, becoming stronger allies in an ever-changing war. The Decepticons wouldn't give them info, but they never lasted long enough anyways (in Florida, they eliminated Dropkick and Incinerator), and others they couldn't get rid of (Barricade fled after the Florida battle).

Each mission was followed with an army debriefing. It was from there that they received judgment and new orders. It was in one briefing that they were given hope and joy. The next day, the Autobots head to a junkyard. Lennox says that the rad detector is going crazy, and that it's not them. Optimus reassures Lennox, then calls to the hiding Autobots. The new Autobots respond by appearing (in the guises of a silver sports car, three motorcycles, and an old ice cream truck), and saying that they got Optimus' call. However, the reunion is cut short by more sightings. The old Autobots catched up with the new ones through their training. The training ends as they are called to the briefing room, as Optimus wonders that if something is out there, friend or foe, they are the only ones who can deal with the situation, one which is threatening their new home, themselves, and their alliance with the humans.

Inside, Lennox briefs the team on a new assignment, which will involve the new Autobots to stick with their training and watching their backs. Their target location: Shanghai...

* Much like the changes made to Josh Nizzi's cover for "Defiance issue 3", his cover for this issue went through several revisions. When it was previewed on ComicNewsi.com on December 13, 2008, the cover featured a much brighter background with only the Pyrimid of Giza behind the characters; Optimus Prime was more awkwardly posed; Ironhide & Ratchet were large and prominent; and Jolt could be (barely) seen on the cover behind the three bikes. On Nizzi's final version, the tone is much darker and more sombre; at least two pyrimids are visible; Optimus Prime has been given a different pose; Ironhide & Ratchet are less prominent and Jolt has been removed entirely. The final published cover removes some forward window pillars that do not exist on Sideswipe's prop vehicle.
* Though they do not appear in this issue due to lack of space, Reverb and Gunbarrel are most likely to be been destroyed in Italy, judging by Ironhide's comment about Fracture being the last of the group there.
