Marvel Comics continuity
War is dirty, violent, and mean. I don't want your company or your friendship, just your help in blasting those Decepticon rust-buckets into hot, burning slag.<br>
Blaster in the Marvel Comics was a rather grim, brooding, rebelious loner and one of the best, kick-@$$ fighters the Autobots had. He had a bit of a problem with authority and hated Decepticons with a passion due to the death of his former partner Scrounge. He developed a bit of a rivalry with Grimlock whose orders he disliked and a reluctant friendship with Goldbug whose more naturally upbeat personality provided the Boy-Wonder to his Batman.

Animated continuity
Voice Actor: Buster Jones (US), Keiichi Nanba (Japan)

Relax dude, chill a sec and enjoy the happenin' sounds of this premium Cybertronian sound system! Rock out!<br>
Blaster in the cartoon was a fun-loving, hip and happening robot. Loud and energetic, and happy to share his choice of rockin' tunes with anyone, whether they really wanted to hear them or not.

His loud music often got himinto trouble, especially when he jammed emergency frequencies with bad 80's hair metal. Blaster and Cosmos eventually converted a deserted Decepticon headquarters on Earth's moon into an Autobot base, they were never shown to use it (it's possible the base they built was later used by Marissa Faireborn of the EDC).

Blaster had a rivalry with Decepticon tapedeck, Soundwave. The two clashed frequently, though they were most often shown to be evenly matched. In 2005, when the Decepticons ransacked Autobot City, Soundwave attempted to jam Blaster's distress signal to Optimus Prime with his Cassette forces. Blaster countered with his own Cassette army, and the itty bitty guys 'rassled.

In 2006, Blaster was stationed most frequently at Autobot City on Earth. However, at one point in Transformer history best left forgotten, he journed with the Autobots to another planet where he translated opera into English.

Scramble City OVA
Blaster was finally gifted with some Cassette forces of his own to counter Soundwave's. Steeljaw and Ramhorn took on Ratbat but couldn't protect the secrets of Metroplex.

Headmasters cartoon
Blaster's rivalry with Soundwave increased dramatically by the year 2011. At one point, when Hot Rod was searching Earth for the Matrix, he was ambushed by Soundwave. Blaster took Soundwave on alone, urging Hot Rod to leave without him. Soundwave and Blaster then prepared for their final duel. The result was a tie, sorta. They both died.

Later, all the Autobots were content to leave Blaster as a corpse until Daniel and Blaster's Cassete forces whined enough to have their pal resurrected. Rodimus then brought Blaster back online as the yellow and blue repaint, Twincast. Coincidentilly, the Decepticons reanimated Soundwave as the black-as-coal Soundblaster. THe two arch enemies then renewed their struggle.
Apparently, by the Generation 2 era of the Transformers, Twincast returned to his original Blaster form. He can be seen behind Optimus Prime and Megatron in the first Japanese G2 story page (Prime and Megatron having forged the Cybertron Alliance).
:Prowl is an Autobot character in the Generation 1 continuity family.

Prowl is the Autobot military strategist. As such, Autobot Commander Optimus Prime will keep Prowl near at hand for his indispensible expertise. He does not react well to the unsuspected and despises disorder. He believes his dedication to logic and rational thought puts him next in line for Optimus Prime's job and dreams of making grand speeches -- even though in reality he's stoic and uncharismatic.

He really doesn't tend to get along well with his fellow Autobots, many of whom find his strict adherance to military protocol stifling, and his uptight personality sure doesn't help matters. The Dinobot commander Grimlock especially honks Prowl off, and Grimlock feels pretty much the same way in return, only with more swear words.

Prowl was part of the crew of the Ark, the Autobot starship that left Cyberton looking for alternate sources of energy only to crashland on Earth. Four million years later, the Transformers were reawakened and reformatted by Teletraan-1. Despite being situated in the United States, Prowl was reformatted as a Japanese police car. No one seemed to notice.

On Earth, Prowl continued to serve as Optimus Prime's right hand man, filling the role of military advisor and strategist. His precision thinking and by-the-books planning served as a valuable counterpoint to Jazz's more improvizational style, and it was up to Optimus Prime to weigh their views and come to a decision.

Prowl met his maker in the year 2005, alongside fellow Autobots Ironhide, Brawn and Ratchet. During a Decepticon assault of a shuttle run to earth from Moonbase One for energon. He was felled by a single blast from Scavenger, proving that a stylish leap when you fire your gun is all that was needed for Decepticon weapons to actually kill someone.
Prowl is the leader of a detachment of Autobots that has operated covertly on Earth for at least four years, attempting to foil a Decepticon insurgency. He almost throws Ratchet in the brig for breaking cover to rescue three humans from the Decepticon covert unit and subsequently refuses to contact Optimus Prime until further evidence of the Decepticons' current activities is uncovered.
* Prowl (1984, 1991, 2002)
Prowl was part of the first series of Autobots released in 1984, reusing a mold originally developed for a Diaclone Datsun Fairlady Z (280 ZX) police car. The Diaclone version had decals that identified him as a Japanese police car, which in turn were translated into "Highway Patrol" for the North American Transformers release. The original instructions booklet, though, features a visible Japanese label sheet complete with the chrysanthemum emblem found on Japanese police cars. Prowl uses the same mold as Bluestreak, though with some specific tooling on his backplate / car roof to depict his police lights.

:Blaster is an Autobot in Generation 1. In Japanese continuity he is later rebuilt as Twincast.

Blaster loves all Earth music, especially good, hard, LOUD Rock'n'Roll. A powerful fighter who tends to make his presence known, you can find him at the forefront of any situation he's involved in.

(Note: Blaster's personality varied signifigantly between the comic and cartoon, see entries below for details.)

Japanese name: Broadcast/Twincast/Broadblast<br/>
Malay-English dub name: Billy (as Blaster), Blaster (as Twincast)

Fiction

Japanese G2 story pages
Apparently, by the Generation 2 era of the Transformers, Twincast returned to his original Blaster form. He can be seen behind Optimus Prime and Megatron in the first Japanese G2 story page (Prime and Megatron having forged the Cybertron Alliance).

Interestingly-enough, despite Japanese G2 taking place in the animated continuity, Blaster appears in his Marvel Comics design. Wacky.

* Prowl (1984, 1991, 2002)
