In the [[Transformers (Titan Magazine)|Titan magazine]] continuity, drones here have a "fulcrum drone", a drone that the others are linked to and informs them of allegiance and objective; if it's reprogrammed, the drones switch sides. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 24|Revolution Part 2}} [[IDW Publishing]]'s comics are unclear on the nature of their drones, although [[Chris Mowry]] has said he sees them as [[protoform]]s whose lack of intelligence led them to be designated as livestock assigned to simple tasks (he sees the multiple [[Constructicon (ROTF)|Constructicon]]s as a prime example). A character like Dreadwing was a drone who showed signs of actual intelligence.<ref>[http://forum.idwpublishing.com/viewtopic.php?p=140691#140691 Mowry in an IDW forum], [http://forum.idwpublishing.com/viewtopic.php?p=140778#140778 thread about Defiance]</ref>
The '''''Transformers: Galaxy Force''''' (or '''''Transformers: Cybertron''''') [[manga]], written and drawn by [[Yoshihiro Iwamoto]], ran for nine issues from February 2005 to October 2005 in the pages of ''[[Comic Bom Bom]]'' when the [[Cybertron (cartoon)|''Galaxy Force'' cartoon]] was on air. The series is not drastically different from the cartoon, hitting all the same major storytelling beats, albeit in a more truncated form.

The series appears to have been intended to run to twelve issues, but with ''Galaxy Force'' not performing well in Japan, it was canceled after only nine installments. The manga ended with [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Wing Saber]] combining and defeating the super-powered [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]], leaving the stories of [[Gigantion]], [[Planet X (Cybertron)|Planet X]] and the concluding battle of the series untold. Iwamoto was, at least, given enough lead-in time for the final issue to end it with a double-page spread hinting at all the challenges that lay ahead, providing a dramatic "open" ending to the strip. ''Bom Bom'' itself did not have much life left in it thereafter, and the magazine was retired a scant two years later.<ref>[http://werou.com/nicky/log200707.html ''Ganken'' blog entry of July 17, 2007 checking from Yahoo!Japan News]</ref>

The first six issues of the manga were collected in a graphic novel along with a whimsical "Mission 0" which acted as a "making of" extra. Alas, the collection was published only one month before the cancellation of the manga, meaning that the final three chapters were not included within its pages. Iwamoto later noted that too much of the pre-publishing work for the volume had been completed when the cancellation was announced, and the plans could not be changed. <ref>[http://werou.com/nicky/log200509.html Blog entry of September 7, 2005 from Iwamoto's blog ''Ganken'']</ref> Naturally, this made these last three uncollected chapters somewhat rare amongst Japanese collectors, and even ''rarer'' amongst Western ones.
'''''Transformers: Optimus prime Vs. Megatron: The Ultimate Battle''''' was a free DVD giveaway in some stores. Its actaully not a DVD, and only works on computers. Its a video that explains alot about the Transformers and their race, their abilities, technology and background and history. It only centers around the [[Unicron Trilogy]].

==Synopsis==
A [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|red and blue robot]] comes on the screen to give the viwers a warning: evil [[Decepticon]]s have invaded Earth! Telling us he has fought them across "time and space", he says that they intend to destroy our world. The robot informs us that his name is Optimus Prime, and that he comes from the planet of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Cybertron, Optimus says, was once a peaceful, sunlit planet. Thousands of years of war have ravaged it, turning it into a shell of the world that Prime once knew.

As the war progressed, the conflict spread beyond Cybertron, with "countless" other worlds becoming caught up in it. If the Decepticons aren't stopped here and now, Prime proclaims, the Earth will be destroyed... and he '''can't''' let that happen!

The inhabitants of Cybertron, Optimus tells us, are Transformers—a race of living robots with the ability to change their forms. Though made of [[durabyllium|the hardest substance in the galaxy]], Transformers have the same range of thoughts and emotions that (most) humans do. Furthermore, Prime says, Transformers come in all shapes and sizes: some are small, some are big, and others are ''truly'' gigantic!

[[Image:UltimateBattleHotShot.jpg|thumb|left|Hot Shot 3 Bodies Evolution]]

Transformers change their shape, Optimus explains, so that they can blend in to their environment or travel over different types of terrain. They can be cars, trucks, motorcycles, construction equipment, helicopters, speedboats... on some planets, they can even turn into wild beasts or dinosaurs! In fact, equipped with their scanners, Transformers can turn into almost anything, as long as they copy the object's data into their [[format file]]s. Some Transformers, like [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]], change themselves so often that even Optimus has trouble recognizing them! Of course, Optimus admits, he's had his fair share of different looks, too... but he's still just Prime on the inside.

Optimus then re-iterates that a Transformer will usually scan a new form when they first arrive on a planet so as to blend in better—or so the theory goes, as not everyone is subtle in their choice of alternate modes... while others are just ''looking'' for trouble.

The Transformers' war, Optimus says, began when a group decided to take over the planet and run things ''their'' way. These Transformers were called '''Decepticons''', and ruled the planet with an iron fist!
==Notes==
"Optimus Prime vs Megatron: The Ultimate Battle" was included with the ''[[Classics (2006)|Classics]]'' [[Optimus Prime (G1)/toys|Optimus Prime]] / [[Megatron (G1)/toys|Megatron]] two-pack. The [[clip show]] features the ''Cybertron'' version of [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] (voice of [[Garry Chalk]]) speaking to the viewer and explaining the basics of the Transformers [[Unicron Trilogy]] universe over reused footage from the ''[[Armada (cartoon)|Armada]]'', ''[[Energon (cartoon)|Energon]]'' and ''[[Cybertron (cartoon)|Cybertron]]'' cartoons.

The North American version includes a gallery that features the ''Classics'' line. The international version drops the gallery in favor of multiple languages for the episode.

===Animation or technical glitches===
* The art of Optimus Prime facing off against Megatron on the main episode/gallery select screen (recycled from the cover) is ''extremely'' pixelated.
* The first ''Cybertron'' version of Red Alert is used to illustrate Optimus Prime's statement that some Transformers turn into cars—which Red Alert does not.
*The still shot of ''Armada'' Hot Shot shown during the overlay of Hot Shot's three bodies is pixelated.

===Continuity errors===
* Footage of Divebombs dropping explosives and Scorponok batting away a blue generic Transformer are used to illustrate the Decepticons ruling Cybertron "with an iron fist" in the past. Footage of Rodimus, Prowl and Landmine in silhouettte holding their Autobot-emblem flag is used to illustrate the Autobots who took up resistance against the Decepticons. Needless to say, neither of these jibe with the actual events of ''Energon''.

===Transformers references===
*Transformers are made of [[durabyllium|durabyllium steel]], which Optimus claims is the hardest metal in the galaxy. This refers back to the [[Technobot (G1)|Technobot]] [[Nosecone (G1)|Nosecone]]'s "durabyllium-steel alloy" drill.

===Miscellaneous===
*The featurette opens with a truncated version of the ''Cybertron'' opening, but replaces the ''Cybertron'' logo with the ''Classics'' logo.
*Plasma cannons expel enough energy to power an entire city on Earth, and this is BEFORE being augmented by [[Mini-Con]]s or [[Cyber Planet Key]]s.
*...and yet, swords are apparently some of the strongest weapons in the universe.
*The only new piece of "animation" in the episode is a digital overlay highlighting [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]]'s different bodies.
*The ending credits are somewhat perfunctionary, being a sped-up version of the ''Energon'', ''Armada'' and ''Cybertron'' series credits (in that order!) followed by a short sequence for the featurette itself, which lists various Hasbro employees and writer/producer [[David McDermott]] (but not narrator Garry Chalk).

===Reused footage===
* Footage of the "reborn" planet Cybertron from the ''Cybertron'' episode "[[Unfinished]]" is used to depict the beautiful Cybertron of the far past.
* Various footage from the ''Armada'' episode "[[First Encounter]]" is used to depict the "thousands of years of warfare" between the Transformers, giving cameos to [[Crosshairs (G1)|Crosshairs]], [[Beachcomber (G1)|Beachcomber]], [[Jetfire (G1)|Skyfire]], [[Wing]], [[Strafe (G1)|Strafe]] and the [[Mini-Con]] space-ark ''[[Exodus (Armada)|Exodus]]''.
*The footage of the planet [[Moriturus]] exploding from the ''Cybertron'' episode "[[Fallen (episode)|Fallen]]" is used to illustrate the Transformers' battle spreading to other worlds.
* The footage wherein the "camera" pulls back from a monitor screen to show Optimus Prime looking at a field of three monitors is from the ''Galaxy Force'' episode "The Sacred Homeworld, Planet Cybertron, Destroyed?!". <small>Was this used in ''Cybertron''? '''''Transformers: Optimus prime Vs. Megatron: The Ultimate Battle''''' was a free DVD giveaway in some stores. Its actaully not a DVD, and only works on computers. Its a video that explains alot about the Transformers and their race, their abilities, technology and background and history. It only centers around the [[Unicron Trilogy]].

==Synopsis==

<small>*First appears in footage where, at the time of the story, the character was not aligned with the Decepticons.</small>

==Notes==

===Animation or technical glitches===

===Continuity errors===

===Transformers references===

===Miscellaneous===

===Reused footage===
The '''''Nemesis''''' is a legendary [[Decepticon]] warship, famous for being the Decepticon ship which ambushed the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]].

[[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] and his crew of Decepticons used the ''Nemesis'' to chase [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and his crew of Autobots out into deep space. Eventually, the Decepticons boarded the Ark, the Autobots' ship, and left the ''Nemesis'' orbiting Earth. The Ark then crashed into Earth with all the Transformers onboard, deactivating them and leaving the ''Nemesis'' in orbit with [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] to watch it. {{storylink|The Transformers (issue)|The Transformers}}

''The ''Nemesis'' remained undisturbed, hidden from Earthling view with superior cloaking technology. In 2006, [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] traveled back in time to the year 1986 in order to build a large laser cannon to destroy [[Unicron]]. Upon completing the cannon, Galvatron tested its effectiveness on the orbiting ''Nemesis'', destroying the ship with a single blast.'' {{storylink|Target: 2006}}

During the Decepticon Civil War, Shockwave's base was the ''Nemesis'', which he had parked at the bottom of the ocean 4 million years ago when he fought the Dinobots.

{{note|The ship's identity and part of its backstory was revealed in the letters page, which directly conflicts the earlier UK story. Simon Furman wrote both stories, though not necessarily the letters page.}}
===Cartoon continuity===
[[Image:Nemesis astroids.jpg|left|200px|thumb|When the Decepticons play a game of Asteroids, it's quite literal.]]
The ''Nemesis'' was the ship used by the Decepticons to pursue the [[Autobot]]s. All the Decepticons left the ship to board the Ark and both ships ended-up crashing on prehistoric [[Earth]]. {{storylink|More than Meets the Eye, Part 1}}
Before the crash, however, several objects were ejected from the ship, including an escape pod {{storylink|A Plague of Insecticons}} and what would become the [[Pearl of Bahoudin]]. {{storylink|Trans-Europe Express}}

[[Image:NemesisMicrobots1.jpg|right|200px|thumb|Eh, it's not so big]]
In 1985, archaeologists eventually discovered the wreck of the ''Nemesis'' in South America. Once [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]] relayed the news to [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]], the Decepticons deployed immediately. Upon arriving, Megatron removed the ''Nemesis'''s power-source, the [[Heart of Cybertron]] and had [[Hook (G1)|Hook]] then install it in him. Imbued with near-limitless power, Megatron then attempted to destroy the Autobots, and almost succeeded, until the Heart of Cybertron was removed from his body and destroyed by [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]], [[Brawn (G1)|Brawn]] and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]]. {{storylink|Microbots}}
[[Image:BWNemesisPt1 rises.jpg|left|200px|thumb|And in four million years, its sister ship crashes into the ocean, coming full circle.]]
The ''Nemesis'' was the flagship of the [[Decepticon fleet]], and the most powerful warship ever built.

[[Image:BWNemesisPt1 Nemesisname.jpg|right|150px|thumb|Megs wanted his victims to know who it was that blew them up.]]
According to myth, it was responsible for shooting down the Ark. It was revealed that [[Tarantulas]] had discovered the wreckage of the ''Nemesis'' deep under water, and had been refurbishing it for unknown purposes. Following Tarantulas' death, [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]] discovered the rebuilt ship and commandeered it as a last ditch attempt to rewrite history and destroy the Ark. {{storylink|Nemesis Part 1|Nemesis Part 1}}

Using the ''Nemesis''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s awesome power, Megatron managed to kill [[Tigerhawk]], as well as [[Inferno (BW)|Inferno]] and [[Quickstrike (BW)|Quickstrike]] by accident when he tried to avenge himself on the [[Protohuman]] leader. In the final battle, the ''Nemesis''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s controls were severely damaged by [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] and [[Optimus Primal]]. Out of control, the ship flew eastwards into the rising sun, turning slowly south and eventually crashing (unseen) several thousand miles away. {{storylink|Nemesis Part 2|Nemesis Part 2}}
{{-}}
====Tactical systems====
{{quote|I will say this for my namesake; he liked the artillery big, and plentiful.|Beast Wars Megatron on ''Nemesis's'' armaments|"[[Nemesis Part 2]]"}}
[[Image:Nemesis missiles.JPG|left|150px|thumb|Skywarp, Rumble, and Thrust liked to write messages on the missiles.]]
Even for the flagship of the Decepticon space fleet, one might have considered the armament on the ''Nemesis'' to be overkill. In addition to the standard energy weapons used by the Decepticons, the vessel carried a massive amount of [[Missile|missiles]], which could be fired slowly in a swarm of rocket propelled death. A [[tractor beam]] could pull anything beneath it up to be sliced and grounded up by rotating blades and drills. The blades were incredibly sharp, being able to slice through solid rock.

[[Image:Nemesis fusion cannon.JPG|right|125px|thumb|&quot;A second fusion cannon is unworkable, Megatron.&quot; &quot;Silence, Starscream!&quot;]]
Given that Megatron himself would have be the ship's normal commander, it should not be surprising that the primary weapon on the ''Nemesis'' was a [[fusion cannon]]. The fusion cannon was powered by its own reactor, apparently separate from the main [[Energon (fuel)|Energon]] supply. The reactor needed to be at one hundred percent capacity to fire a blast, and would require a powerup time between blasts.

The ship also featured systems to enable the forced boarding of enemy ships. A pair of magnetic couplings amidships allowed for the Nemesis to forcibly establish a magnetic junction between herself and the unfortunate target, and a boarding chute could be released from within the hull to allow crew-members to cross the gap between ships. The tip of the chute could also be heated to cut through hull plating at least as thick as that used on the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]].

Tactically the ship had two main weaknesses. During the flight from Cybertron a heavy meteor shower required so much power to maintain the shields that ''Nemesis'' was forced to fly in the Ark's wake in order to survive. Given that a similar energy crisis shortly affected the Ark as well, it would seem that both ships were weakened by the lack of energy on Cybertron. Ergo, the Nemesis functioned best when well-fueled, otherwise her size and power requirements could make the ship a liability.
The second weakness was placing all the main tactical, command and fire-control systems in the prominent dorsal conning tower. Though the location provided an excellent viewpoint for piloting the ship and directing combat (and was presumably well armored and shielded), it also made for a compelling target, as happened in the final act of the Beast Wars when [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox]] piloted an [[Autobot Shuttle Omega Delta|Autobot shuttle]] straight into the conning tower in a kamikaze run, taking out the bridge and crippling the ship, which flew rudderless until crashing in [[South America]], where in the 20th century human excavations would unearth her {{storylink|Nemesis Part 2|Nemesis Part 2}} {{storylink|Microbots|Microbots}}.
This post indicates that Cybertronix is the name of the spoken language as well as the written, and that both the Maximals and Predacons speak it. The Razor's Edge specifically referred to as the "modern written language," indicating that it is likely that there were other Cybertronian languages, with other names, at some point in the past. [[Withered Hope]] canonizes its status as a spoken language as well.</ref>. Whether this is the same language spoken on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] during the Great War is unknown, though displays on the ''[[Ark (G1)|Ark]]'' and exterior markings on the ''[[Nemesis (G1)|Nemesis]]'' use it.

Cybertronix text featured in nearly every episode of Beast Wars, beginning with the [[Beast Wars (Part 1)|series premiere]] and continuing through the [[Nemesis Part 2|series finale]]. The most common usage was to show up on a computer screen. Typically, large quantities of text scrolling by would be gibberish, often the alphabet in sequence. Small amounts of text usually could be translated to a word or phrase appropriate to the scene. For example, in the very first instance of Cybertronix in the series, as the shields of the ''[[Axalon (BW)|Axalon]]'' fail the text reads 'major fade'. Sometimes the text could be translated to humorous effect. The text on the ''[[Nemesis (G1)|Nemesis]]'', to the right, reads 'Red Dwarf', the name of [[:wikipedia:Red Dwarf|a popular British science fiction comedy]].

[[Image:Cybertronix Various Examples.jpg|right|180px|thumb|]]
In addition to featuring prominently on computer screens, the text also showed up in a variety of other situations. "[[Equal Measures]]" features multiple interesting examples: upper left, a keyboard; upper right, a poster; lower left, a POV shot; lower right, a trash bin.Because humans never speak in ''Beast Wars'' or ''Beast Machines'', it's very possible we're hearing Cybertronix, not Earth language.

Cybertronix text continued to be used in Beast Machines, though not as frequently as in Beast Wars. POV shots sometimes featured Maximal text for Maximals or Predacon script for Vehicons. Occasionally computer screens would feature Cybertronix. One particularly good example of this is "[[Fires of the Past]]", featuring several screens with much legible text. Despite being operated by [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]], both Maximal and Predacon characters were present.

==Character keys==
===Letters===
The character sets used to represent Cybertronix in the Beast Era cartoons are simple English language character substitutions, cracked by [[Jim Sorenson]] in the late [http://groups.google.com/group/alt.toys.transformers/browse_thread/thread/77395bc6a16258d7/b5bae9cb3dd23c81?lnk=gst&amp;q=maximal+font#b5bae9cb3dd23c81 90s]. The Maximal and Predacon alphabets are significantly different from one another. Maximal characters are a fairly regular collection of straight lines, circles and semi-circles and dots. Predacon characters are jagged, curved, irregular and often feature serifs. Fonts are available containing the translation [http://www.tfrid.com/Fonts.html], and many scenes of both ''Beast Wars'' and ''Beast Machines'' contain humorous (and occasionally filthy) messages for the dedicated fan. Only uppercase Predacon letters were used in the show, though Sorenson created lowercase letters as font-filler. [[The Ascending issue 3]] featured these lowercase letters, canonizing them.<ref>
[[Image:Predacon Language.jpg|right|350px|thumb|Predacon Characters]]
{{-}}

===Numbers===
Maximals and Predacons each have distinct numbering systems. Both seem to be inspired by a modified version of the Roman system. Rather than use their letter 'I' or vertical marks, both systems use 1, 2 and 3 vertically stacked horizontal bars to represent the numbers 1, 2, and 3.

[[Image:Predacon 49.jpg|left|180px|thumb|XL1X is 49 in Predacon numerals. (50-10)+(10-1)]]

From here, Predacon is a straight port of the Roman system, with a horizontal bar before the Predacon character for V or X to represent 4 or 9. Thus, 49, XLIX in Roman, would be represented as follows to the left.
{{-}}

[[Image:Maximal 196.jpg|right|180px|thumb|C,10,C,6 is 196 in Maximal Numerals. (100)+(100-10)+(5)+(1)]]

The Maximal system is more abstracted, tending to be more vertical than the Roman (or Predacon) system. The number 5 is represented by a semicircle. Rather than place a horizontal bar to the left of this to represent the number 4, a left-justified dot is placed below the character. 6 though 8 are placed by adding 1 to 3 horizontal bars below the semicircle. 10 is represented by a circle, with 9 represented by a left-justified dot below the circle. The numbers 11 through 18 are even more interesting. They are represented by combining the character 10 with squashed versions of characters 1 through 8. This results in some overlap. Only when we hit 19 does the system move to a horizontal orientation, with 20 represented by two horizontally consecutive circles, and 19 represented by a left dot below the character for 20. 21 through 30 are created by adding a circle to the right of the numbers for 11 - 20. At this point the system reverts to a more traditional port of the Roman system, with the characters L, C, D and M representing 50, 100, 500 and 1000, and lower denominations placed to the left (as opposed to below) to indicate lower numbers. Thus, 196 (CXCVI) would be written as seen to the right.
